A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED AND NO INJURIES WERE SUSTAINED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 31,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 NISSAN SENTRA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 25 MPH, THE VEHICLE VIBRATED ABNORMALLY AS IT INDEPENDENTLY DECELERATED. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT AFTER MERGING TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, SHE ATTEMPTED TO INSPECT THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT WHEN SHE NOTICED A BURNING ODOR. SEVERAL MINUTES LATER THE VEHICLE EXPLODED. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS CONTACTED AND A FIRE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE WHAT CAUSED THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 62,000.
AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT (DRIVER'S AIRBAG) ILLUMINATED. WENT TO DEALERSHIP IMMEDIATELY. WAS TOLD IF THE LIGHT CAME BACK ON I WOULD HAVE TO PAY $936.99 FOR REPLACEMENT. CAR HAD ONLY 10,000 MILES ON IT! I AM NOW UNABLE TO PASS REQUIRED STATE SAFETY INSPECTION DUE TO "SAFETY ISSUE." TWO EMAILS TO NISSAN HAVE GONE WITHOUT RESPONSE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 NISSAN SENTRA. THE CONTACT OBSERVED A HOLE IN THE FLOOR BEHIND THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THERE WAS NO HOLE IN THE FLOOR. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 11,000.
I WAS TRAVELING THRU A LIGHT WHEN A CAR HIT ME FROM THE SIDE ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. MY AIR BAGS CAME OUT. THE ONE ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE HIT MY WRIST AND BROKE IT IN HALF. I PUT IN A COMPLAINT EARLIER BUT IT WAS THE WRONG YEAR VEHICLE. *TR
IN 2007, NISSAN RECALLED MORE THAN 140,000 ALTIMAS DUE TO THE POSSIBILITY OF FIRE RELATED TO THE CARS AIR FILTER. THERE WAS SUBSTANTIAL MEDIA COVERAGE OF THE LARGE RECALL. WE OWN A 2011 NISSAN SENTRA, WHICH WE PURCHASED FOR OUR TEENAGE DAUGHTER. ACCORDING TO COURTESY NISSAN IN RICHARDSON, TEXAS, THE CAUSE OF A RECENT VEHICLE BREAK DOWN WITH OUR SENTRA WAS AN AIR FILTER FIRE, WHICH ALSO CAUSED FIRE DAMAGE TO THE AIRBOX. THIS IS THE SAME DEFECT WHICH RESULTED IN NISSAN'S 2007 RECALL. (I HAVE PHOTOS OF THE FIRE-DAMAGED AIR FILTER AND AIRBOX, AS WELL AS THE FIRE-DAMAGED PARTS.) THIS IS OBVIOUSLY A SERIOUS AND UNRESOLVED SAFETY ISSUE, ONE THAT NISSAN PUBLICLY ACKNOWLEDGED AND PROACTIVELY ADDRESSED WITH THE 2007 RECALL. NISSAN CORPORATE CONSUMER AFFAIRS DEPARTMENT HAS DENIED THAT THE ISSUE WITH THE 2007 ALTIMAS IS THE SAME ISSUE WITH OUR 2011 SENTRA, EVEN THOUGH THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP STATED CLEARLY TO US IN WRITING THAT THE AIRBOX/AIR FILTER CAUGHT ON FIRE. THE AIR FILTER IN A TWO-YEAR-OLD CAR SHOULDN'T CATCH ON FIRE. AND IT CERTAINLY SHOULDN'T CATCH ON FIRE IF AIR FILTER FIRES IN NISSANS WERE SIGNIFICANT ENOUGH TO RESULT IN A MAJOR RECALL OF NISSAN VEHICLES IN 2007. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 NISSAN SENTRA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT BEFORE ENTERING THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT SMELLED GASOLINE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS WHERE IT WAS STATED THAT THE FUEL TANK WAS CRACKED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 45,000.
MY SON WAS DRIVING MY CAR NISSAN SENTRA 2011 ON 405 FREEWAY IN THE CARPOOL LANE AT ABOUT 65MPH. THE ENGINE CUT OFF. HE TOLD ME THAT HE TRIED TO GET OVER WHILE THE CAR WAS STILL COASTING BUT THE VEHICLE COMPLETELY STOPPED IN ONE OF THE LANES. HE PUT ON THE EMERGENCY FLASHERS AND CALLED HOME. HE TOLD US THAT THE CAR HAD CUT OFF AND WOULDN'T START BACK UP. HE SAID THAT OTHER CARS WERE JUST FLYING BY AT FAST SPEED. WE TOLD HIM AND HIS FRIENDS TO STAY IN THE CAR WHERE WE FELT IT TO BE SAFER AT THE TIME. THEN HE SAID I AM ABOUT TO GET HIT. FOR MINUTES WE DID NOT KNOW WHAT WAS GOING ON. THE DRIVER THAT HIT THE REAR OF THE CAR LET MY SON AND 2 OTHER PEOPLE GET IN HIS CAR AND HE DROVE THEM OFF OF THE FREEWAY. MY SON CALLED THE HIGHWAY PATROL AND EXPLAINED THE SITUATION. HE WAS TOLD THAT THE CHP WOULD TAKE CARE OF IT. WHEN MY HUSBAND AND I ARRIVED AT THE LOCATION WHERE MY SON,HIS FRIENDS AND THE DRIVER OF THE CAR THAT HIT HIM WERE WAITING, WE NOTICE A POLICE CAR. THE POLICEMAN SAID HE JUST SAW THEM THERE AND CAME OVER. WHEN CHP FINALLY CAME OVER TO WHERE WE WERE WAITING, THE CHP OFFICERS EXPLAINED TO US THAT THE VEHICLE WAS HIT A SECOND TIME AND THAT TWO PEOPLE WERE CARRIED IN AN AMBULANCE TO THE HOSPITAL. THE VEHICLE WAS PUT ON A TOW TRUCK AND BROUGHT OVER TO WHERE WE WERE ALL WAITING. THE REAR OF THE CAR WAS TOTALLY SMASHED. THERE WAS NO LONGER A BACK SEAT OR TRUNK. WHEN MY SON SAW THE CAR HE WAS GLAD THAT THEY HAD GOTTEN OUT OF THE CAR BECAUSE ONE OF HIS FRIENDS WOULD HAVE GOTTEN SMASHED UP IF THEY HAD STAYED IN THE CAR. BY THE WAY, THE CAR WAS NOT OUT OF GAS BECAUSE I FILLED THE TANK UP WITH GAS MYSELF THE PREVIOUS DAY. *TR

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, SHE WAS ADVISED BY A PASSING DRIVER THAT THE VEHICLE WAS ON FIRE FROM UNDER THE HOOD AND TO EXIT IMMEDIATELY. THE CONTACT AND A PASSENGER WERE ABLE TO EXIT THE VEHICLE JUST AS THE VEHICLE EXPLODED. THERE WERE NO INJURIES AND A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CAUSE OF THE FIRE WAS UNKNOWN. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND THEY DID NOT RESPOND. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,000.
VEHICLE FAILS TO START- BATTERY CONNECTOR REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY AUGUST 29 2013 MILES 36404 SAME PROBLEM OCCURS DEALERSHIP REPLACES SAME CONNECTOR AND BATTERY AND CHARGES ME. THIS SAME PROBLEM HAS RECALL NOTICES ON OLDER NISSAN SENTRA'S ACCORDING TO DEALERSHIP BUT DOES NOT APPLY TO MINE. BRAND NEW CAR UNDER 4K MILES ON IT I WAS DRIVING BETWEEN 60-65MPH ON THE BUSY I95N OF FORT LAUDERDALE MIAMI CARS SPEEDING UP TO 70MPH WITH MY FAMILY ON A VACATION THEN ALL OF SUDDEN THE SERVICE LIGHT POP UP AND AFTER THAT THE CAR LOST ITS POWER SO I COASTED ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD REALLY SCARY. IT SEEMS THAT THE PROBLEM WITH THIS SENTRAS ARE STILL ACTIVE EVEN WITH NEW CARS SO NISSAN ARE WE GONNA WAIT FOR THE NEXT INCIDENT? *TR
THE VISOR ON OUR 2011 NISSAN SENTRA 2.0 S BLOCKS THE VIEW OF OUR REAR VIEW MIRROR. WE CANNOT USE OUR MIRROR SAFELY WITH THE VISOR DOWN. WE HAVE NOT TAKEN TO DEALERSHIP TO HAVE CHECKED. WE HAVE NOT HAD ANY CRASHES OR INJURIES IN OUR VEHICLE BECAUSE OF THIS, BUT IT IS VERY NERVE WRECKING TRYING TO BACK OUT WITHOUT BEING ABLE TO SEE. IT HAS BEEN THIS WAY SINCE WE PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE AND CONTINUES TO BE A PROBLEM EVEN TODAY. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE FAILURE WAS DUE TO A MANUFACTURERS DEFECT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 31,892.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 NISSAN SENTRA. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING 35 MPH WHEN THE VEHICLE PULLED TO THE LEFT ABNORMALLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO INSPECTED THE VEHICLE FOR OVER THREE WEEKS BUT WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE DEALER REPLACED SEVERAL COMPONENTS ON THE VEHICLE BUT THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 5,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 17,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 NISSAN SENTRA EQUIPPED WITH BRIDGESTONE TURANZA TIRES, SIZE 205/60R/15. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED WHEN HE NOTICED THAT THERE WAS A BUBBLE ON THE TREAD OF THE REAR DRIVER SIDE TIRE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE FAILURE WAS DUE TO A ROAD HAZARD. AS A RESULT, THE TIRES WERE NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. THE TIRE WAS NOT REPAIRED OR REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 21,000.
THE FOLLOWING PROBLEM WITH THE CAR CAN POTENTIALLY CAUSE BODILY INJURY. PLEASE RECORD AND COMPARE WITH SIMILAR COMPLAINTS. WHEN THE VEHICLE IS WARMED UP (AFTER ABOUT 20 MINUTES OF DRIVING) AND THE GAS PEDAL IS PRESSED GENTEELLY, IT EXPERIENCES SEVERE ROCKING BACK AND FORTH MOTION DURING THE DRIVING. IT UNEXPECTEDLY ACCELERATES AND THEN UNEXPECTEDLY DECELERATES, OCCASIONALLY TO ALMOST COMPLETE STOP, REPEATEDLY. THE TACHOMETER READING WILL SUDDENLY JUMP TO ABOVE 3000 RPM AND SWIFTLY JUMP BACK DOWN BELOW 1000 --' ALL WITHIN 2-3 SECONDS. THEN IT RETURNS TO NORMAL RANGE AT 1000 -1600 RPM DEPENDS ON AMOUNT OF GAS PEDAL APPLIED. THE CAR ACCELERATES AND DECELERATES IN SYNC WITH THE RPM CHANGES. WHEN THE CAR IS DECELERATING, THE CAR MAKES SQUEAKING NOISE AND IT FEELS LIKE THE BRAKES ARE APPLIED TO THE MAXIMUM. IF THE GAS PEDAL IS CONTINUOUSLY PRESSED AT THE SAME LEVEL, ABOVE SYMPTOMS REPEAT AT UNEVEN INTERVALS, FREQUENTLY IN BETWEEN EVERY 5-10 SECONDS. IF THE GAS PEDAL IS PRESSED MORE, THE ABOVE SYMPTOMS GET WORSE WITH LARGER RANGE OF RPM CHANGES, LOUDER NOISE, AND MORE SEVERE JERKING. WHEN THE VEHICLE IS STOPPED WITH THE ENGINE ON, IT IS HARD TO START MOVING AND ACCELERATE -- LACK OF POWER AND THE RPM SUDDENLY JUMPING UP AND DOWN. ACCORDING TO THE DEALER, A COIL INSIDE THE TRANSMISSION IS AT FAULT AND THE CONNECTION BETWEEN THE ENGINE AND THE TRANSMISSION WAS ASSEMBLED WRONGLY.
ACTUALLY LESS THAN A YEAR FROM PURCHASING THE VEHICLE, A TICKING STARTED IN THE ENGINE EVEN AFTER ROUTINE OIL CHANGES. BEFORE IT HIT 50000 MILES, WHEN STARTING THE CAR IT WOULD HESITATE AND WHEN IT WAS CHECKED OUT A CELL IN THE BATTERY BURNED OUT AND IT WAS A LITTLE OVER A YEAR OLD. WHEN I LOOKED UP RECALLS THERE WAS SOMETHING CONCERNING THE BATTERY AND WHEN I CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP THEY STATED SINCE IT WAS JUST OVER THE 50000 MARK IT WASN'T COVERED. AS FOR AS THE ENGINE THEY STATED STATED " THAT'S JUST THE ENGINE, THEY ALL HAVE A TICK." *TR
ON DEC. 11, 2011, THE CAR WOULD NOT START IN THE MORNING. WENT BACK IN THE AFTERNOON AND STARTED FINE. ON DEC. 12, 2011, THE CAR HESITATED TO START IN THE MORNING. TOOK TO DEALER AND THEY REPLACED BATTERY. ON DEC. 19, 2011, THE CAR WOULD NOT START AT FIRST AND ONLY STARTED WHEN BRAKE WAS PUMPED SEVERAL TIMES, AND STILL HESITATED TO START. THE CAR WOULD NOT GO FASTER THAN 40 MPH, WITH THE GAS PEDAL TO THE FLOOR, AND THE RPMS WOULD NOT GO PAST 2. AFTER EVERY STOP THE CAR TOOK 2 MINUTES TO GET BACK UP TO 40 MPH. TOOK TO THE SHOP, THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG. *TR
2011 NISSAN SENTRA. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO DOORS LOCKED ON WHILE RUNNING *TGW THE CONSUMER STATED HE LEFT THE VEHICLE RUNNING FOR A MINUTE ONLY TO COME BACK AND DISCOVER THE DOORS WERE LOCKED.

AFTER APPLYING FORCE TO THE BRAKE PEDAL SEVERAL TIMES THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY CAME TO A STOP. THE CONTACT PLANNED TO NOTIFY THE MANUFACTURER AND DEALER REGARDING THE UNEXPECTED BRAKE MALFUNCTION. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 17,500.
I PURCHASED THE CAR MARCH 14, 2011 AND THE VEHICLE HAS HAD ISSUES WITH MAKING NOISES AND VIBRATING. I RETURN THE VEHICLE THE FOLLOWING WEEK AND DEALERSHIP COULD FIND NO PROBLEMS, BUT REFERRED TO NISSAN SERVICE. ON JULY 29, 2011, MY MOTHER MOVED MY CAR OUT OF A FIRE LINE AT APPROXIMATELY 20-25 MPH. THE GAS PEDAL WENT WAY TO THE FLOOR AND SHE ATTEMPTED TO DEPRESS THE BRAKES. AT THAT TIME THE PEDAL TRAVELED MORE THAN 3/4 TO THE FLOOR ALMOST INSTANTLY. SHE DID LOSE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND CRUSHED INTO A TREE TO STOP THE CAR. SHE NEVER REGAINED THE USE OF THE BRAKES. I DID GO TO THE TOWNG COMPANY AND TOOK PICTURE WHERE THE GAS PEDAL IS STILL IN 3/4 INCH FROM THE FLOOR. DJ
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 NISSAN SENTRA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY STALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE TECHNICIAN STATED THE BLOT/WASHER ON THE END OF THE BATTERY TERMINAL AND THE ENGINE HAD TO BE REPLACED. NHTSA RECALL CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 10V555000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:BATTERY:CABLES) MAY BE RELATED TO THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 5,100.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER AND THE BODY CONTROL MODULE WAS REPLACED. THE FAILURE BEGAN TO RECUR APPROXIMATELY SIX MONTHS LATER. THE CONTACT WAS TOLD BY THE MANUFACTURER THAT AN ENGINEER WAS GOING TO INSPECT THE VEHICLE, BUT THAT HAS NOT HAPPENED. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER, BUT THEY COULD NOT DETERMINE WHAT CAUSED THE FIRE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 9,000.

THE SUN VISOR ON THE NISSAN SENTRA WHEN FLIPPED DOWN CAUSES LOSS OF VISIBILITY WHICH CAN MAKES IT VERY DIFFICULT TO SEE CARS AHEAD AND REQUIRES ADJUSTMENTS WHICH CAN MAKE IT VERY ANNOYING TO USE AND LEAD TO LOSS OF CONCENTRATION REQUIRED WHEN DRIVING. I HAVE THE INTELLIGENT KEY SYSTEM WITH THIS CAR. I WAS TOLD WHEN I PURCHASED THIS CAR THAT IN ORDER TO START THE CAR, MY FOOT MUST BE ON THE BRAKE. YOU CAN PUT THE CAR IN AUXILIARY MODE WITH THE FOOT OFF THE BRAKE BUT IN ORDER TO START THE CAR THE FOOT MUST BE ON THE BRAKE. I DISCOVERED THAT I WAS ABLE TO START MY CAR WITH MY FOOT OFF THE BRAKE. I TOOK THE CAR IN FOR SERVICE TO DEALER THAT I PURCHASED THE CAR FROM. I WAS SUBSEQUENTLY TOLD THAT WITH MY MODEL CAR I COULD START THE CAR WITH MY FOOT OFF THE BRAKE. I CALLED NISSAN SINCE I WAS GETTING CONFLICTING INFORMATION AND THEY INFORMED ME THAT IN FACT I SHOULD NOT BE ABLE TO START MY CAR IN THIS MANNER. THEY CREATED A FILE REGARDING THIS PROBLEM, FILE #7139963, THEN I WAS TOLD THAT I SHOULD TAKE MY CAR IN TO ANOTHER DEALER AND HAVE THEM LOOK AT THIS PROBLEM. I'M NOT SURE IF OTHER SENTRA OWNERS ARE HAVING THIS PROBLEM ALSO OR WHETHER OR NOT THIS COULD BECOME A SAFETY ISSUE (WHICH I WOULD THINK IT COULD BE, ESPECIALLY IF A YOUNG CHILD WAS SOMEHOW ABLE TO START THE CAR AND PUT IT IN GEAR) BUT I FIGURED THIS SHOULD BE ON RECORD SINCE ALL NISSAN SUGGESTED WAS THAT I TAKE IT TO ANOTHER DEALER.
WHEN THE CAR REACHED 15-20 MPH (THE DOORS LOCK) A RATTLING, CLUNKING NOISE OCCURS IN THE REAR OF THE CAR. THIS HAPPENS EVERY TIME THE CAR IS STARTED AND THAT SPEED IS REACHED. I WAS TOLD FROM THE DEALERSHIP THIS IS NORMAL. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 NISSAN SENTRA SR. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DRIVERS SIDE SUN VISOR WOULD COME INTO CONTACT WITH THE REAR VIEW MIRROR AND OBSTRUCT THE DRIVERS FIELD OF VISION. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE MIRROR HAD TO BE REPOSITIONED WHENEVER THE VISOR WAS PLACED IN THE DOWNWARD POSITION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER, WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO TO CORRECT THE FAILURE ON THE SR TRIM OF THIS MODEL YEAR, EVEN THOUGH THE OTHER TRIMS DID NOT EXPERIENCE THE SAME FAILURE. NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1,000.

DEALERSHIP HAS BALANCED THE TIRES AT LEAST 4 TIMES AND I WENT AND BOUGHT A NEW SET OF TIRES THINKING IT WAS THE TIRES IT DIDN'T FIX THE PROBLEM. THE VEHICLE HAS HAD ISSUES WITH ABS ACTUATOR MAKING NOISES AND VIBRATING. DEALERSHIP COULD FIND NO PROBLEMS, BUT REFERRED TO NISSAN SERVICE BULLETIN. ON FEBRUARY 2, 2011, I WAS TRAVELING AT APPROXIMATELY 20-25 MPH. AS I APPROACHED A RED LIGHT I ATTEMPTED TO DEPRESS MY BRAKES. AT THAT TIME THE PEDAL TRAVELED MORE THAN 3/4 OF THE WAY TO THE FLOOR ALMOST INSTANTLY. THERE WAS A LOUD METALLIC CLANKING AND GRINDING SOUND AND A VERY STRONG VIBRATION COMING FROM UNDER BRAKE PEDAL. I ALMOST LOST CONTROL OF MY VEHICLE AS IT PULLED TO THE LEFT AND ALMOST TRAVELED INTO THE ONCOMING LANE. AFTER 2-3 SECONDS I REGAINED THE USE OF MY BRAKES. *LN
ON MONDAY, JANUARY 17, BETWEEN 7:00PM AND 7:15PM, I AS WELL AS A PASSENGER THAT WAS WITH ME THAT EVENING WERE INVOLVED IN A COLLISION WITH A SEMI DUE TO A FAILURE OF OUR 2011 NISSAN SENTRA. WE DON'T REALLY KNOW IF IT WAS EITHER THE BRAKES OR THE ABS SYSTEM OR THE ONBOARD COMPUTER. AS WE WERE ON BELTLINE RD., HEADING TOWARDS ADDISON, TX FOR A DINNER PARTY AT A LOCAL RESTAURANT, WE CAME TO AN INTERSECTION AND ATTEMPTED TO COME TO A HALT, BUT, WHEN DOING SO THE CAR CAME TO A SLOW STEADY SPEED AND CONTINUED TO MOVE FORWARD, LESS THAN 5MPH BUT MORE THAN 2MPH. I PRESSED THE BRAKE A TOTAL OF 5 TIMES, TWO OF WHICH I SLAMMED THE BREAK UNTIL IT REACHED THE FLOORBOARD, UNTIL I WAS FORCED TO USE THE E BREAK. I TRIED PUTTING THE CAR IN PARK AS WELL BUT NOTHING SEEMED TO WORK. PRIOR TO LEAVING FOR THE RESTAURANT, WE HEARD AN INTERNAL KNOCKING SOUND. WE DIDN'T HAVE IT CHECKED OUT IMMEDIATELY DUE TO THE FACT THAT IT WAS A HOLIDAY AND MANY PLACES WERE ALREADY CLOSED. WE ALSO DIDN'T THINK IT WAS A DANGER TO US SIMPLY BECAUSE IT WAS THE FIRST TIME IT HAD EVER OCCURRED. WE DO NOT FEEL SAFE OPERATING THIS VEHICLE, AND WE WANT TO GET THE WORD OUT THERE THAT THIS CAR COULD BE DANGEROUS. WE HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE TROPHY NISSAN IN MESQUITE, TX AND WERE GIVEN A RENTAL. WE PREFER THE RENTAL. IT WILL BE A MONTH UNTIL WE GET OUR CAR BACK, AND FRANKLY, THEY CAN KEEP IT. THIS IS 2013 AND MY CAR STILL HAS THIS PROBLEM UNRESOLVED. THIS IS AN INTERMITTENT PROBLEM WHICH HAS HAPPENED 4 TIMES WHEN THE CAR IS ALMOST UNDRIVEABLE. DRIVING ALONG ON SNOWY ROADS (HAVE NOTICED LESS SIGNIFICANT ISSUES OTHER TIMES SUCH AS GOING INTO 1ST GEAR ON ITS OWN TWICE AND SOME SMALL PULSES HERE AND THERE ) WHEN THE CAR WILL HAVE A PULSE OR CATCH LIKE YOU HAVE QUICKLY STEPPED ON THE BRAKES BUT NO BRAKE LIGHTS GO ON. THE RPMS INCREASE FROM 1500 TO 3000 AND THEN THE CAR STOPS BRIEFLY. LOWER SPEED AND STILL HAPPENS. LEAVING FROM A STOP IS WHEN IT GETS REALLY SCARY. ANY AMOUNT OF GAS PEDAL WILL CAUSE THE CAR TO COME TO ALMOST A COMPLETE STOP WITH NO BRAKE LIGHTS. ALMOST REAR ENDED A COUPLE TIMES. IT KEEPS STOPPING YOU WHEN YOU TRY TO EVER SO GENTLY GIVE IT SOME GAS AND EVENTUALLY YOU CAN GET IT GOING. THIS BEHAVIOR WILL CONTINUE UNTIL IT WANTS TO STOP IT. TURNING CAR ON AND OFF SOMETIMES HELP AND SOMETIMES DOESN'T. THE SECOND TIME THIS HAPPENED LAST 3 TRIPS TO WORK. TAKEN TO DEALER SEVERAL TIMES AND NO DIAGNOSTIC CODES HAVE BEEN RECORDED. FIRST TIME ADJUSTED SENSOR FOR VDC - MUST NOT HAVE BEEN ADJUSTED FROM FACTORY. SECOND TIME - NO CODES - SAY THEY ADJUSTED SOME OTHER SENSORS. THIRD AND FOURTH TIMES - IF NO DIAGNOSTIC CODES CAN'T DO ANYTHING. CONTACTED NISSAN AND WAITING FOR A SOLUTION. *TR
