WHEN DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY IN MY 2012 NISSAN SENTRA IT SOMETIMES DEACCELERATES GRADUALLY TO THE POINT WHERE YOU CAN'T GO PAST 60 MPH AND WHEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE IT IS SLUGGISH
GOES LIMP, DELAY WHEN PRESSING THE GAS WHILE IN MOTION, APPLICABLE TO BOTH CITY STREET AND HIGHWAY. BASED ON INFORMATION GATHERED, IT APPEARS THE TRANSMISSION COOLER IS NOT PROVIDING ADEQUATE FLUID COOLING WHEN DRIVING IN HIGH TEMPERATURES RESULTING IN THE TRANSMISSION FLUID TO GET HOT AND THE CAR TO GO LIMP (STALLED ACCELERATION) WHICH CREATES AN UNSAFE OPERATING CONDITION. VARIOUS DATES...
WHILE DRIVING MY CAR WILL JUST SHUT OFF. IT ALSO WILL SHUTOFF WHILE STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO A COUPLE OF SHOPS AND THEIR TEST SAY BAD OXYGEN SENSOR SO I HAD IT REPLACED, BUT THIS HAS NOT FIXED THE ISSUE.
BLIGHTY VEHICLE USED AT ROUTE 46, TOTOWA, NJ IN 2017. IT HAS 76K MILES AND WE JUST MOVED TO RHODE ISLAND. MY 18 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER DRIVING BY HERSELF UP I 95 WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH HAD THE VEHICLE DECELERATE SEVERAL TIMES DOWN TO 40 MPH DESPITE PURSUING THE GAS TO THE FLOOR. AT ONE POINT WITH SEMI TRUCKS ALL AROUND HER IT DROPPED TO 25 MPH WHERE SHE HAD TO PUT THE HAZARDS ON WHILE THESE TRUCKS WHIPPED BY HER. SHE GOT HERE BUT WAS FREAKED OUT. MY ODB PICKED UP ERROR CODE P074 FOR A CLUTCH SOLENOID ISSUE WITH THE TRANSMISSION. KNOWN ISSUE TO NISSAN. HOW MANY OF THESE DO WE HAVE TO REPORT BEFORE SOMEONE GETS KILLED TO GET THIS LISTED AS A RECALL TO FIX THE TRANSMISSION? NHTSA YOU HAVE A DUTY TO PROTECT US AND ORDER NISSAN TO FIX THIS ISSUE.
I WAS PULLED OVER STATING MY TAGS WERE BAD AND TO GO TO THE DEALERSHIP TO OBTAIN NEW ONES. HE THEN INSPECTED MY CAR AND I WAS ON MY WAY AFTET WE DISCUSSED THE TIEROD ISSUE AND MADE AN APPOINTMENT I THEN RECORDED ON MY PHONE THE SHAKE FROM THE STEERING WHEEL. I LATER FOUND OUT THE BLINKING LIGHT WAS THE AIRBAG LIGHT NOT THE SEAT BELT LIGHT AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON AS WELL. THE CAR SHOULD NOT HAVE PASSED INSPECTION. I GOT IN A SMALL FENDER BENDER AND THE INSURANCE IS NOW TOTALING MY CAR.
THE CAR TURNS OFF WHEN STOPPED LIKE AT A RED LIGHT OR STOP SIGN. BATTERY WAS REPLACED BY THE DEALERSHIP A WEEK AGO. ALTERNATOR WAS CHECKED AND IS GOOD. I HAVE TO TURN THE KEY TO THE OFF POSITION AND START IT AGAIN.
PULLED INTO GAS STATION AND WHEN TRYING TO LEAVE THE CAR WOULDN'T SHIFT INTO GEAR. IT WAS LOCKED INTO PARK AND HAD TO CALL A TOW TRUCK. SEEN ON CAR COMPLAINTS .COM THAT NISSAN OWNERS HAD CONTACTED NISSAN AND THEY SAID NISSAN WASN'T GOING TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT.
RAINY NIGHT 55 MPH CRASH. AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. WET ROAD, CAR RAN OFF ROAD, HIT A SIGN POST, WENT DOWN EMBANKMENT, FLIPPED AND ROLLED OVER INTO DITCH. DAUGHTER WAS SERIOUSLY INJURED... 4 BROKEN LOWER BACK VERTEBRAE, 9 BROKEN RIBS, NUMEROUS PELVIC FRACTURES, LACERATED SPLEEN AND KIDNEY. SEEMS LIKE THESE INJURIES COULD HAVE BEEN MUCH LESS SEVERE IF THE AIRBAGS WOULD HAVE DEPLOYED.*DT *DT*JB
PURCHASED A 2012 NISSAN SENTRA, DUE TO AN AIRBAG DEFECT (AIRBAG WILL NOT DEPLOY PER MANUAL) BECAUSE OF THIS I DO NOT HAVE A HORN. PLEASE ADVISE. THANK YOU IN ADVANCE
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 NISSAN VERSA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED. NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER BEDFORD NISSAN (18115 ROCKSIDE RD, BEDFORD, OH 44146) WHERE THE TRANSMISSION FLUID WAS FLUSHED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 71,000.
I AM HAVING ISSUES WITH THE TRANSMISSION. IT APPEARS THAT THE ENGINE IS NOT CHANGING GEARS AUTOMATICALLY. OR IT COULD BE A PROBLEM WITH THE FUEL INJECTION OF THE VEHICLE. ALSO THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE AIRBAGS DEPLOYMENT SYSTEM.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 NISSAN SENTRA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT 20 MPH, WITHOUT WARNING THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO JERK AS THE BRAKE PEDAL SHAKES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER PREMIER NISSAN OF SAN JOSE 1120 W CAPITOL EXPY, SAN JOSE, CA 95136 (408) 978-1234 TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE OR RETRIEVE ANY DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE RECURRED MULTIPLE TIMES. THE VEHICLE THEN WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE BUT NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE WAS PROVIDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATE 4,444.
AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT CAME ON IN THE CAR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 NISSAN SENTRA. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE JERKED AND STALLED. ADDITIONALLY, THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL WHISTLING NOISE EMERGING FROM THE VEHICLE. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO STATED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO NISSAN OF NORWICH (691 W THAMES ST, NORWICH, CT 06360, (860) 892-6000) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE BELT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AND THERE WAS METAL IN THE TRANSMISSION, WHICH NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: 35185453. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THEY WOULD ASSIST WITH SIXTY PERCENT OF THE REPAIR COSTS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 57,000.
MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT TRIGGERED AND I BROUGHT THE CAR TO MY LOCAL NISSAN SHOP. THE CAR HAD BEEN RUNNING ROUGH, LOOSING POWER, AND BURNING OIL. THE MECHANIC TOLD ME I NEEDED NEW SPARK PLUGS AND A NEW BOOT. AFTER AGREEING TO PAY THE $500, I RECEIVED A PHONE CALL FROM THE SHOP. THE MECHANIC EXPLAINED THAT THE PROBLEM WAS NOT FIXED, THAT ACTUALLY I NEEDED TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE ENGINE. AFTER THE $500 IN WORK HAD BEEN DONE, THE MECHANIC PERFORMED A COMPRESSION TEST. THE TEST INDICATED A BAD ENGINE. SO THE WORK WAS DONE ON A BAD ENGINE. THE CAR HAD ABOUT 100,000 MILES ON IT AND HAS ALWAYS HAD PROPER MAINTENANCE. SO WHY IS IT BAD ALREADY? AND WHY WAS I MISLEAD TO PAY $500 ON A BAD ENGINE? THIS IS NOT RIGHT. PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU NEED MORE INFORMATION. THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME.
WHEN OPENING THE DOOR THE HANDLE NO LONGER FUNCTIONED. UPON ANALYSIS OF THE PROBLEM, A PLASTIC PIECE THAT HAD ALLOWED THE SPRING TO ACTIVATE HAD BROKEN AND THIS WOULD NOT ALLOW THE DOOR TO OPEN VIA THE HANDLE FROM THE INSIDE OF THE CAR. I WAS HOWEVER ABLE TO OPEN THE DOOR FROM THE EXTERIOR OF THE CAR, ROLLING DOWN THE WINDOW TO OPEN THE CAR DOOR. AFTER A HARSH WINTER AND THE POWER WINDOWN SWTICH BEING REPLACED AS WELL AS THE DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR I WAS ABLE TO USE MY DOOR PROPERLY AGAIN. THE WORSE THING IS THAT NOT EVEN 3 MONTHS LATER I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM HAPPEN AGAIN, DEALT WITH IT FOR A WHILE, BUT WINTER HAS NOW COME AGAIN AND I STILL CAN NOT OPEN MY DOOR FROM THE INSIDE. I HAVE RIGGED A WIRE LOOP AROUND THE PULLEY SYSTEM AND CREATED A WAY TO OPEN MY DOOR FROM THE INSIDE, BUT I HAD READ MULTIPLE BLOGS THAT MANY PEOPLE HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM WITH THE SENTRA. I FIND THIS TO BE CONCERNING AND FEEL THAT NISSAN SHOULD RECALL THESE PARTS AND OFFER LIFETIME REPLACEMENT OF THE DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR. IF I WAS IN AN ACCIDENT AND MY DOOR WAS MY ONLY EXIT, WOULD NISSAN BE PAYING MY FAMILY FOR MY DEATH?
CAR COULD NOT CHANGE GEAR WHILE DRIVING HAD TO TAKE FOOT OFF THE GAS, WHEN SHIFTING GEARS FROM PARK IT WAS VERY LOOSE AND SLIPPERY, CAR CAN NO LONGER BE DRIVEN IT WILL ONLY GO INTO NEUTRAL. WHEN THE INCIDENT HAPPENED I WAS WAITING AT THE LIGHT WITH MY FOOT ON THE BREAK AND IT WOULDNT SHIFT BACK TO DRIVE WHEN I STEPPED ON THE GAS.
CAR STALLS FOR NO REASON WHEN STOP AT LIGHT OR STOP SIGN
I BOUGHT THIS CAR WITH 56,000 NOW IT HAS 96,000, IT HAS CVT TRANSMISSION, THE STEP MOTOR IS NO LONGER USEFUL; AFTER HAVING RUN ONLY 40,000 MILES IS NOT FAIR !!!! I KNOW MANY PEOPLE WHO HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THIS TYPE OF CAR, THE FACTORY SHOULD FIX IT AT NO COST TO THE CONSUMER, I STILL OWE THE BANK .. $ 7,000 AND THE REPAIR COSTS ME $ 4,000. YOU THINK IT'S FAIR TO PAY SO MUCH MONEY, WHEN I'M SURE THIS IS A FACTORY DEFECT ????
I HAVE A 2012 SENTRA THAT I BOUGHT IN 2014. I STARTED TO EXPERIENCE RANDOM LOSS OF POWER ON HIGHWAY, AND RPM WOULD UP AT RANDOM TIMES, LIKE IT WAS STUCK IN GEAR. LAST YR I DISCOVERED THAT MY CVT TRANSMISSION WAS GOING BAD AND ALREADY HAD TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION (BOUGHT USED). LESS THAN A YEAT LATER, IM STARTING TO EXPERIENCE THE SAME PROBLEM. NISSAN NEEDS TO EXTEND THE WARRANTY THRU THE 2012 MDELS, ON ANY CVT TRANSMISSION TO 10 YRS. VERY AGGRIVATING CONSIDERING I'M STILL MAKING PAYMENTS! I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS VEHICLE TO ANYONE.
MY NISSAN SENTRA HAS 85,000 MILES ON IT AND MY TRANSMISSION IS COMPLETELY BROKEN. THE CVT TRANSMISSION THEY PUT IN MY CAR HAS AN EXTENDED WARRANTY IN IT FOR KNOWN PROBLEMS WITH IT. I WAS DRIVING WITH MY TWO SMALL CHILDREN ON A VERY BUSY HIGHWAY WHEN IT STOPPED MOVING AND I HAD TO PULL OVER AND RESTART IT. WHEN I RESTARTED THE VEHICLE T AGAIN WOULD NOT MOVE. I FINALLY GOT IT TO MOVE TO WHERE I GOT TO A MECHANIC AND THEY TOLD ME MY TRANSMISSION WAS COMPLETELY BROKEN. I TOOK IT TO NISSAN AND THEY ARE NOT GOING TO HELP MY FIX IT 100% FULLY KNOWING THAT THE CVT TRANSMISSION THEY PUT IN THE CAR HAS PROBLEMS. I SPOKE WITH NISSAN CUSTOMER AFFAIRS AND THEY TOLD ME THAT BECAUSE MY CAR IS OUT OF THEIR WARRANTY THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO TO HELP ME WHEN THIS IS NOT MY FAULT. THEY KEEP PRODUCING CARS THAT HAVE THIS TRANSMISSION IN IT AND KEEP HAVING TO REPLACE IT EXCEPT FOR MY CAR. I HAVE TWO SMALL CHILDREN THAT I NEED A CAR FOR. I HAVE A LOAN OUT FOR THE CAR THAT NOW I HAVE TO PAY FOR THAT DOES NOT WORK! I CAN NOT AFFORD TO FIX THE TRANSMISSION THAT NISSAN PUT IN THAT IS KNOWN TO FAULT OUT!
2012 NISSAN SENTRA LOST POWER AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS WITH FAMILY IN CAR. NO RESPONSE FROM GAS PEDAL. COASTED TO A STOP ON SIDE OF HIGHWAY AND HAD TO WAIT APPROXIMATELY 30 MINUTES UNTIL CAR WAS RESPONDING TO GAS PEDAL. NOT SAFE FOR ANYONE TO BE DRIVING THIS CAR. MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT NISSAN'S CVT TRANSMISSION WITHOUT A SOLUTION FROM NISSAN. CAR HAD APPROXIMATELY 85,000 MILES ON IT AT THE TIME. SAME THING OCCURRED AROUND 102,000 MILES. MY CAR IS REGULARLY SERVICED AND CARED FOR. IT IS PARKED IN A CLOSED GARAGE EVERY NIGHT.
CVT TRANSMISSION FAILURE NO RECALL OPTION. THE TRANSMISSION HAS BEEN SLOWLY FAILING OVER THE LAST 6 MONTHS SLIPPING NO RECOURSE BUT TO REPLACE THE VEHICLE HAS LESS THEN 100,000 MILES.
"CVT TRANSMISSION ISSUES" 2012 NISSAN SENTRA SR 2.0L WITH 103,000 MILES ON THE VEHICLE AND MAINTAINED ADEQUATELY SINCE GETTING THE VEHICLE IN 2013. FOR THE LAST SIX MONTHS, I HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING MY VEHICLE LOSS OF ACCELERATION ON ONLY BEING ABLE TO GO 10 MPH MAX WHEN MY VEHICLE GOES INTO LIMP MODE. THIS HAPPENS TO ME ON THE INTERSTATE 64 WESTBOUND FROM RICHMOND, VA TO HARRISBURG, VA GOING UPHILL WHERE I WAS GOING 70 - 75 MPH WHEN THE VEHICLE LOSS ACCELERATION AND MY SPEED DROPPED DRAMATICALLY ALMOST CAUSING A WRECK. THIS IS DUE TO BEING IN THE LEFT LANE AND HAVING NOWHERE, I COULD PULL OFF THE INTERSTATE READILY AVAILABLE. TO ME, THIS IS A SIGNIFICANT SAFETY CONCERN AS THIS IS HAPPENING NOW AFTER BEING DRIVEN FOR 30 MINUTES TO AN HOUR. TOOK THE VEHICLE TO MIDAS WHERE I HAD THEM RUN A DIAGNOSTIC TEST ON THE CAR TO SEE IF THERE ARE ANY CODES ON THE CAR SINCE THERE IS "NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON." THE TECHNICIAN CAME BACK WITH THE FOLLOWING: 'TECH FOUND THAT THE CVT TRANSMISSION IS HAVING INTERNAL PROBLEMS-VEHICLE US NOT SAFE TO DRIVE. TECH FOUND CODE P1722 EST VEHICLE SPEED SIGNAL, P0744 AT TR SW FUNCTION, P1778 STEP MOTOR. ALSO, VEHICLE NEEDS FRONT STRUTS AND REAR SHOCKS - NO CONTROL OF STEERING WHEEL.' IT APPEARS NISSAN HAS HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE CVT TRANSMISSION FROM THEIR 2007 - 2010 SENTRA AND ISSUED AN EXTENDED TEN YEAR - 120,000 MILES WARRANTY. NISSAN NEEDS TO EXTEND THE WARRANTY TO EVERY YEAR THAT NISSAN HAS USED THE CVT TRANSMISSION AS THEY ARE UNRELIABLE AND EVENTUALLY WILL CAUSE A FATAL ACCIDENT ON THE HIGHWAYS WITH THEIR TRANSMISSION GOING INTO LIMP MODE.WOULD LIKE MY VEHICLE ADDED TO THE CVT EXTENDED WARRANTY - 10 YEARS + 120,000 MILES SINCE MY VEHICLE IS EXPERIENCING THE SAME ISSUES AS THE 2007 - 2010 VEHICLES. OCCURRED ON INTERSTATE, HIGHWAY, AND CITY.

THE TECHNICIAN CAME BACK WITH THE FOLLOWING: 'TECH FOUND THAT THE CVT TRANSMISSION IS HAVING INTERNAL PROBLEMS-VEHICLE US NOT SAFE TO DRIVE. TECH FOUND CODE P1722 EST VEHICLE SPEED SIGNAL, P0744 AT TR SW FUNCTION, P1778 STEP MOTOR. ALSO, VEHICLE NEEDS FRONT STRUTS AND REAR SHOCKS - NO CONTROL OF STEERING WHEEL. PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS MATTER FOR ALL NISSAN SENTRA 2011, 2012, ETC. THIS IS A PROBLEM.
*CVT TRANSMISSION CRAP* REPORTED THE ISSUE YESTERDAY WITH THE SENTRA GOING INTO LIMP MODE AT ANY TIME WITHOUT WARNING DROPPING FROM 70 MPH TO 10 MPH. CODES P0744, P1722, P1788 TRANSMISSION CODES. P0744 MEANS YOU HAVE TO BUY A WHOLE NEW TORQUE CONVERTER SOLENOID UNIT AS YOU CANNOT JUST REPLACE THE SOLENOID. COST OF THE UNIT $1,116.00. THE P1788 CODE IS THE STEP MOTOR THAT IS INSIDE THE TRANSMISSION. AAMCO WILL NOT EVEN REBUILD THE CVT TRANSMISSION. THEY TOLD ME CHEAPER TO BUY ANOTHER TRANSMISSION THAN TO FIX THIS ONE. TIME NISSAN IS HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR CUTTING CORNERS ON THEIR TRANSMISSIONS IN ORDER TO MAKE PROFIT. THEY ARE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR THE 2007 - 2010 CARS, TIME TO ADD 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 - ? SINCE CVT TRANSMISSIONS ARE JUNK. DAUGHTER SENTRA ONLY HAS 103,000 MILES ON IT AND WELL TAKEN CARE OF. FOR A CAR TO GO INTO LIMP MODE WITH NO WARNING IS WAITING FOR A FATAL CRASH. LUCKILY THIS DID NOT HAPPEN TO MY DAUGHTER. APPEARS THE EXTENDED WARRANTY NISSAN PLACED ON 2007 - 2010 MODELS EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBLEMS MY DAUGHTER HAS WITH HER SENTRA. I HAVE HAD MY 2012 SENTRA FOR 1 MONTH 1/2 AND TWICE ON LONG DISTANCE TRIPS THE CAR HAD SLOWED DOWN. GOING 80 SLOWED TO 50 AND THE GAS PEDAL WAS TO THE FLOOR. BOTH TIMES I'VE HAD TO SAFELY PULL OFF THREE FREEWAY AND SIT ON THE SIDE OF THE FREEWAY FOR A 1/2 HOUR. THIS IS VERY DISAPPOINTING OTHERWISE THE CAR IS GOOD
WHEN GOING HIGHWAY SPEEDS THE ACCELERATION DROPS AND WILL NOT COME BACK WITH THE PEDDLE TO THE FLOOR, WAS ALMOST REAR ENDED. AT A STOPLIGHT WHEN TAKING OFF THE CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES. RESEARCHED AND FOUND THE ISSUE IS THE CVT TRANSMISSION. NISSAN HAS EXTENDED WARRANTY TO 10 YR 1200000 MILE ON THIS TRANSMISSION. I CALLED TO SCHEDULE AND WAS TOLD MY VIN IS NOT COVERED. WHY?
POWER STEERING ASSIST (ELECTRIC IN THIS VEHICLE) SUDDENLY FAILED WHILE DRIVING ON CITY STREET AT 25 MPH. THE "PS" WARNING LIGHT CAME ON CAR HAD BEEN DRIVEN ABOUT 5 MINUTES BEFORE THIS INCIDENT, AND I HAD JUST MADE A RIGHT TURN. STEERING BECAME DIFFICULT, BUT I WAS ABLE TO RETURN HOME. THE NEXT DAY, I STARTED THE CAR AND DROVE AROUND THE BLOCK; THE POWER STEERING WORKED AND THE WARNING LIGHT WAS OFF. I HAVE NOT DRIVEN THIS CAR SINCE THEN.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 NISSAN SENTRA. WHILE STATIONARY AND WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE STEERING WHEEL MADE A SQUEAKY GRINDING NOISE AND SHOOK WHEN BEING TURNED LEFT OR RIGHT. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 86,000.
THE COMPUTER SYSTEM SHUT DOWN AND HAS LOCKED UP MY CAR. I BOUGHT IT IN 2015 AND IT SHUTDOWN ON ME IN EARLY 2018. IT WAS DRIVING FINE AND ALL THE SUDDEN THE COMPUTER SYSTEM QUIT AND THE CAR WILL NOT MOVE.
TRANSMISSION FAILED WITH NO WARNING. VEHICLE WOULD NOT MOVE AFTER BRAKING WHILE STILL IN GEAR. ONLY 78,000 MILES LOGGED.5.5 YEARS OLD. EXACT EVENT: BACKING SLOWLY OUT OF A DRIVEWAY (IN REVERSE); BRAKED AT END OF DRIVEWAY TO LOOK BOTH DIRECTIONS; RESUMED ACCELERATION (IN REVERSE) AS I TURNED AND NOTHING HAPPENED. VEHICLE WOULD NOT "LAND" IN ANY GEAR (DRIVE, REVERSE, LOW DRIVE, ETC). HAD TO BE TOWED FROM LOCATION TO MY MECHANIC. MY MECHANIC DIAGNOSED THE TRANSMISSION AS INOPERABLE AND NEEDING REPLACEMENT. RECOMMENDED I TOW TO A NISSAN DEALER FOR HOPEFUL COVERAGE BY NISSAN. NISSAN CONFIRMED NEED TO REPLACE AT THE COST OF $4156.
WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY TO GO TO WORK, THE TRANSMISSION WENT OUT. WHEN I TRIED TO ACCELERATE, THE CAR WOULD REV BUT WOULDN'T GO FASTER. LUCKILY, I WAS ABLE TO SLOW DOWN ENOUGH, PUT ON MY HAZARDS AND STOP WITHOUT BEING HIT BY ONCOMING TRAFFIC. HAD A COP NOT BEEN NEARBY WHEN IT HAPPENED, I COULD HAVE BEEN. I HAD TO WAIT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY FOR AN EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE RESPONSE MAN TO COME AND PUSH MY CAR TO THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY. THEN, TO ADD INSULT TO INJURY, I HAD TO WAIT 5 AND A HALF HOURS FOR A TOW TRUCK TO COME AND TAKE MY CAR TO A SHOP.
PURCHASED 2012 VEHICLE FROM DEALERSHIP IN JAN 2014 AND HAVE FOUND THAT THE VEHICLE IS HAVING A COMMON PROBLEM IN THIS MODEL. VEHICLE IS DECELERATING WHILE IN MOTION. THE TRACTION CONTROL AND ABS LIGHTS CAME ON SO WE TOOK IT TO MECHANIC WHO SAID WE NEEDED TO REPAIR BRAKES, SO WE FIXED THE BRAKES AS NEEDED. LIGHTS DID NOT GO OFF SO WE RETURNED IT TO DEALER WHO THEN INFORMED ME THAT WHEN HOOKED UP FOR THE DIAGNOSTIC TEST, A CODE RETURNED SAYING THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE TRANSMISSION. I DESCRIBED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS SLOW ON TAKEOFF. TRAVELS ABOUT 3-4 MPH DURING TAKEOFF, CAUSING BACKUP IN TRAFFIC, AND POTENTIAL SERIOUS REAR END ACCIDENT. TECHNICIAN STATED THAT NISSAN ACKNOWLEDGED THE PROBLEM AND HAD EXTENDED THE VEHICLE WARRANTY TO 60,000 MILES. MY VEHICLE HAS 50,000 MILES SO I WAS GLAD TO HEAR, SO I TOOK IT BACK TO DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIRS. I WAS INFORMED THAT I WAS OUT OF WARRANTY BECAUSE WARRANTY BEGINS ON DATE VEHICLE WAS MANUFACTURED, IN THIS CASE JAN 2012, SO OUT OF WARRANTY BY 9 MONTHS. I ARGUED THAT I HAD NOT OWNED IT FROM THE DATE IT WAS MANUFACTURED, AND HOW MUCH WAS THE REPAIR. COST IS $4500.00 I DO NOT FEEL THAT AS A CONSUMER WE SHOULD INCUR THIS COSTLY REPAIR IF NISSAN HAS BEEN MADE AWARE OF THIS ISSUE ON THIS MODEL VEHICLE. THEY SHOULD HONOR THE DEFECT DETECTED AND REPAIR VEHICLE BEFORE THERE IS A INJURY TO PERSONS BECAUSE VEHICLE DECELERATES UNKNOWINGLY AT ANY GIVEN TIME, MAKING THE DRIVER A SITTING DUCK AT INTERSECTIONS AND TAKEOFFS.
AFTER A 1.5-2 HOUR DRIVE ON THE HIGHWAY, MY CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE BEYOND 60 MPH. IT DROVE FINE AFTER GETTING HOME AND GETTING SOME REST. NO LIGHTS CAME ON THIS FIRST. SIMILAR EVENT HAPPENED A COUPLE WEEKS LATER - MUCH SHORTER DRIVE APPROX. 20 MINUTES, SLOWER SPEEDS, BUT MAIN INCLINES. ALL LIGHTS (CHECK ENGINE, OIL, EMERGENCY BRAKE, BATTERY) CAME ON AND THE CAR WOULD NO ACCELERATE AT ALL. I PULLED OVER AND TURNED THE CAR OFF THEN BACK ON AGAIN AND IT WAS COMPLETELY FINE.

SES LIGHT THREW CODE 0420 INDICATING THAT BOTH O2 SENSORS NEED REPLACING. I BOUGHT THE PARTS AND TOOK TO A SHOP TO REPLACE. SHOP HAD TROUBLE REACHING THE UPSTREAM SENSOR AND WAS WORRIED IT MIGHT BE THREADED AND SUGGESTED I TAKE TO THE DEALER TO REPLACE. THE DEALER SAID THE PORT WAS INDEED THREADED UPON REMOVAL OF SENSOR, AND THE ONLY FIX WAS TO REPLACE THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD. SEEMS LIKE QUITE A DESIGN FLAW THAT REPLACING A $70 SENSOR CAUSES THE NEED FOR A $1000 MANIFOLD. MANIFOLD ISN'T BROKEN, ONLY THE O2 SENSOR PORT IS THREADED SO THEREFORE A NEW SENSOR CAN'T BE PUT IN, NECESSITATING THE ENTIRE REPLACEMENT OF THE MANIFOLD.

2012 NISSAN SENTRA STARTED MALFUNCTIONING WITH BATTERY REPLACEMENT ON MARCH 25, 2015 AT HANLEES NISSAN IN DAVIS, CA, WHERE I HAD PURCHASED THE VEHICLE IN SEPT 2013 AND WHERE I HAD MOST SERVICE PERFORMED WHILE I OWNED THE VEHICLE. I COMMUTED 1.5 HOURS EACH WAY FOR A NEW JOB IN ROHNERT PARK AND I WAS BECOMING ILL. UNABLE TO LOCATE HOUSING IN THE AREA I WAS UNABLE TO KEEP THE JOB FOR MORE THAN 2 WEEKS. I SUSPECT FOUL PLAY WITH THE DAVIS SERVICE DEPARTMENT. CAR STARTED HAVING A LOUD CLICKING SOUND AT JUST LESS THAN 30MPH. DAVIS SERVICED CAR FOR TWO MORE YEARS. THEY CANNOT PROVIDE A DUPLICATE SALES CONTRACT SAYING IT IS LOST. DAVIS REFERRED ME TO KIM AT FAIRFIELD NISSAN AND SHE TOLD ME IT IS MISSING. THIS DIFFICULTY SHOULD NOT EXIST. I ASKED LIENHOLDER CRB AUTO/MECHANICS BANK TO PROVIDE A COPY AND I HAVE YET TO RECEIVE. I MADE MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS TO HAVE MY CAR ASSESSED AT NISSAN DAVIS, VACAVILLE, NORTH BAY NISSAN IN PETALUMA (REPLACED CATALYTIC CONVERTER 7-31-17 60, 000 MILES) PROBLEM NOT CORRECTED. VEHICLE NOW DEVELOPED EXTREMELY POOR GAS MILEAGE. I CONTINUED TO GET SICKER. I HAD BEEN ILLEGALLY EVICTED FROM MY RENTAL HOME AT 7172 YOLANO ROAD, DIXON, CA 95620 JUNE 3, 2017 WITH HARSH BULLYING AGAINST LAW IN CONCERT WITH THE SOLANO COUNTY SHERIFF'S (ONGOING INVESTIGATION) I HAD HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO DAVIS PRIOR TO LEAVING THAT ADDRESS. I TOLD THEM I GOT REALLY ILL WHEN DRIVING THE CAR. THEY REFUSED DIAGNOSTIC WORK AND RECOMMENDED CLEANING DETAIL OF CAR AT MY EXPENSE. DID POOR JOB AND HAD TO REPEAT. THEN THE CAR WOULD DECELERATE GOING UPHILL. THEN, AS WE GOT TO THE NEXT EXIT, THE GAS PEDAL STOPPED WORKING COMPLETELY. WE AGAIN ALMOST DIED, BARELY MADE IT TO THE GAS STATION AND REALIZED THERE WAS AN AUTO ZONE NEXT DOOR. SO WE WENT AND HAD THE CODES READ AS THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT HAD JUST POPPED ON...WHEN I TURNED THE CAR BACK ON, EVERYTHING WORKED FINE BUT IT HAD SAT FOR 30 MINUTES. ITEMS STOLEN FROM VEHICLE RECENTLY BECAUSE I THOUGHT IT WAS LOCKED AFTER HEARING HORN SOUND WHEN PRESSING LOCK BUTTON ON KEY FOB. CAR WAS PARKED IN A PUBLIC PARKING LOT. THIS COULD BE A POTENTIAL SAFETY ISSUE.
VEHICLE HAS TROUBLE ACCELERATING AND WHILE ACCELERATING ITS BEGAN MAKING NOISES WITH THE TRANSMISSION AFTER GOING 70 MPH OR MORE. AT TIMES IT SHAKES AS I BEGIN ACCELERATING. I JUST BOUGHT THIS VEHIVLE AND IT HAS ONLY 46000 MILES.
VEHICLE REFUSED TO ACCELERATE DURING PROLONGED UPHILL DRIVE IN 95F+ WEATHER. VEHICLE SPEED WAS REDUCED TO BELOW 50 MPH AND NO AMOUNT OF ACCELERATOR DEPRESSING INCREASED SPEED OR ACCELERATION. VEHICLE HAD TO BE PULLED OVER FOR 10 MINUTES BEFORE IT WOULD ACCELERATE NORMALLY AGAIN. NO NOTICE OF ENGINE OVERHEAT OR MALFUNCTION WAS REGISTERED ON THE THE DASH. NO INDICATORS VISIBLE.

I PULLED OFF THE ROAD AND TURNED OFF THE CAR, AT WHICH POINT THE ENGINE BECAME ENGULFED IN FLAMES. THE CAR HAS HAD NO PROBLEMS TO DATE, AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT HAS NEVER COME ON.
