TAKATA RECALL
MY DAUGHTER PARKED ON A SLIGHTLY INCLINING DRIVEWAY AND WAS EXITING THE VEHICLE. SHE HEARD A GRINDING NOISE AND THE CAR STARTED ROLLING BACKWARDS. SHE JUMPED BACK IN THE SEAT AND ATTEMPTED TO STOP THE CAR BUT STATES " THE BRAKES WOULDN'T WORK". THE CAR WAS OFF AND THE KEYS WERE IN HER HAND. THE CAR ROLLED ALMOST 100 FEET BEFORE HER STILL-OPEN DRIVER'S DOOR HIT A PARKED SUV WHICH STOPPED THE CAR BEFORE IT ROLLED OUT INTO THE STREET. THE DOOR WAS BENT COMPLETELY BACKWARDS AND HAS TO BE REPLACED. THE CAR IS UNDRIVEABLE UNTIL I CAN GET IT REPAIRED. I WILL ADD THAT I BOUGHT THE CAR 1 MONTH AGO WITH 6651 MILES ON IT. CARFAX REPORTED A MINOR REAR END ACCIDENT THAT I SHOULD HAVE BEEN MORE WARY OF! *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 NISSAN SENTRA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE WINDOW REGULATOR MOTOR FAILED TO WORK, WHICH PREVENTED THE WINDOW FROM ROLLING UP. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO GET THE WINDOW TO ROLL UP AND HAD TO USE DUCT TAPE AS WELL AS OTHER ADJUSTMENTS TO SECURE THE WINDOW DURING INCLEMENT WEATHER. THE VEHICLE WAS TO BE TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR INSPECTION AND DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 NISSAN SENTRA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH APPROACHING A STOP, THE BRAKES FAILED TO ENGAGE. THE CONTACT HAD THE DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL NUMEROUS TIMES IN ORDER TO STOP THE VEHICLE AND A LOUD GRINDING NOISE EMITTED THE VEHICLE BEFORE STOP. THE DEALER ADVISED THAT THE ABS SYSTEM COULD HAVE BEEN FAULTY. HOWEVER, THE BRAKE SYSTEM WOULD NEED TO BE FURTHER INSPECTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 52,084.
I NOTICED SINCE OCTOBER OF 2014 THAT WHEN I APPLIED THE BRAKES IN THE CAR, THEY PULSATED UNDER MY FOOT. (THE CAR WAS PURCHASED IN APRIL 2014) IT DID NOT HAPPEN EVERY TIME, BUT I WAS PUZZLED...IT CONTINUED OFF AND ON FOR MONTHS AND EVENTUALLY I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY KEPT THE VEHICLE FIXED IT AND RETURNED IT TO ME. I READ THE RECEIPT AND NOTICED THE PROBLEM WAS AS FOLLOWS: FRONT PADS COMING APART INTERNALLY CAUSING THE ROTORS TO BECOME WARPED; AND BOTH REAR WHEEL CYLINDERS COMING APART INTERNALLY. I WAS PRETTY SHOCKED AT THIS, AND 3 DAYS AFTER BEING REPAIRED I NOTICED THE SAME PULSING AGAIN AND TOOK THE CAR BACK. THEY KEPT IT FOR A FULL WEEK, AND TOLD ME THEY CAN FIND NOTHING WRONG WITH IT. I CALLED THE NISSAN CORPORATION AND ADVISED THEM I DID NOT WANT TO DRIVE THIS CAR BECAUSE ITS UNSAFE. THEY TOLD ME THEY WOULD REVIEW MY REQUEST, AND THEN ADVISED ME THAT THEY WILL NOT BE REPURCHASING OR TAKING THE CAR BACK. IN THE MEANTIME, I DRIVE THIS CAR WITH GREAT FEAR AND CARE AS THE PULSING IS MORE FREQUENT, ESPECIALLY IF THE BRAKES ARE APPLIED SLOWLY, THE PULSING HAPPENS JARRINGLY AT THE END OF THE BRAKING. ONE OF THE TECHNICIANS I SPOKE TO TOLD ME THAT THEY HAD AN INTERNAL NOTICE FOR THIS MODEL , BUT ONLY IF A CUSTOMER BROUGHT IT IN. I FEEL THAT TAKING IT BACK TO NISSAN AGAIN IS GOING TO GET ME NOWHERE AND THAT THEY WILL ONCE MORE DECIDE NOTHING IS WRONG. IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE IS FINANCED BY NISSAN, AND THIS MONTH I DID NOT PAY FOR THE VEHICLE AND I AM SURPRISED AND PUZZLED AS TO WHY NO ONE FROM NISSAN HAS CALLED TO ASK FOR PAYMENT. WHAT CAN I DO NOW? I AM AFRAID TO CONTINUE DRIVING THIS CAR. THANK YOU *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 NISSAN SENTRA. WHEN THE HEATER IN THE VEHICLE WAS ACTIVATED, IT STEAMED THE DRIVER SIDE WINDOW AND PREVENTED THE CONTACT FROM VIEWING THE ROAD. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER TO BE REPAIRED. THE DETAILS OF THE REPAIRS WERE UNAVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 21,000.
WHEN MY VEHICLES SLOWS DOWN AND BRAKES TO A STOP IT BEGINS TO SHAKE SLIGHTLY. THE SHAKING CAUSES THE CAR TO HESITATE SLIGHTLY BACK AND FORWARD. IN ADDITION, SOMETIMES THE BREAK PEDALS ARE SLOW TO COME BACK UP ONCE I HAVE PRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL. THE ISSUE IS USUALLY SEEN IN THE MORNINGS WHEN I AM FIRST DRIVE THE VEHICLE AND BEGIN TO BRAKE. I BELIEVE NISSAN HAS SOLD ME A LEMON VEHICLE. THIS A BRAND NEW VEHICLE AND I HAVE NOT HAD IT FOR MORE THAN MONTH. *TR
TRANSMISSION IS NOT CHANGING THE GEARS CORRECTLY . WHEN DRIVING ON A CITY STREET OR HIGHWAYS AND PULLING OFF FROM A COMPLETE STOP THE VEHICLE DRIVES OFF AS IF IT IS PULLING A LOAD AND THEN WHEN IT SHOULD BE CHANGING IN THE 2ND OR 3RD GEAR IT STARTS TO SLIP OUT OF GEAR AS IF IT IS GOING IN NEUTRAL AND THEN YOU FEEL ROUGHNESS IN THE CHANGING OF GEARS.
WHILE TAKING VEHICLE TO DEALER TO EL PASO CASA NISSAN FOR DRIFT/ PULL AND CONSTANT INPUT TO KEEP IN CENTER LINE ON WINDY DAY AND TRANY ON UP HILL FAILURE FROM A DEAD START. MY WIFE'S VEHICLE STALL AND SHAKE ALMOST LIKE ENGINE WILL SHUT, ALMOST ON STOP ON BRAKING. HAPPENED.TWICE, FIRST AT STOP LIGHT ABOUT HALF MILE AWAY FROM MY HOUSE, SECOND AT GAS STATION ABOUT 3 MILES AWAY. A/C ON. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS MERGED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND FAILED TO ACCELERATE UNTIL THE ECONOMY MODE WAS TURNED OFF. THE FAILURE RECURRED ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN WAS NOT ABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 12,000.
WELL HAVE TAKEN MY CAR SERVERAL TIMES TO TRI CITIES NISSAN. ABOUT BRAKES WHEN AT SLOW SPEEDS. LOSSING POWER UP HILL. WRECK CUZ WAS GOING SLOW EVERYOE COME TO A STOP LOCKING UP BRAKES WELL MY DID NOT. AND GOT MY CAR BACK NOT EVEN MONTH AGO THIS IS SECOND TIME HAVE HAD TO TAKE IT. 3DAYS AGO I WAS COMING TO A STOP SINE WHEN DRIVER SIDE BRAKE LOCKED UP AND PAASENGER SIDE WAS PAULASTING AND I ALMOST HIT A TRUCK I UNDER STAND THINGS GO WRONG BUT JUST FIX . IM SO SCARD THAT IM GOI TO HURT SOMEONE ELSE OR MY KIDS. ITS NOT RIFHT I HAVE DONE EVWRYTHING I WAS SUPPOST TO BUT THEY DO NOTHING. IF SOMEONE GETS HURT ITS ON ME BECAUSE NISSAN DIDNT DO THEIR JOB.
I WAS DRIVING STRAIGHT. I SAW A CAR IN FRONT OF ME, AND BEGAN TO BRAKE. AS I DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL AS I NORMALLY DO, THE CAR WAS NOT SLOWING DOWN, SO I QUICKLY PRESSED IT FURTHER. FINALLY THE CAR HAD STOPPED AFTER THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR. I CAN CONSISTENTLY REPLICATE THIS ISSUE. I WILL CONTACT THE DEALER TODAY. *TR
SOMETIMES WHEN THE PASSENGER SEAT IS EMPTY THE PASSENGER AIRBAG IS TURNED OFF. WHEN A PASSENGER THEN ENTERS THE CAR IT DOES NOT TURN THE AIRBAG ON. THE ONLY WAY TO CORRECT THIS IS TO TURN THE CAR OFF AND BACK ON. THIS ONLY HAPPENS WHEN THE PASSENGER ENTERS THE CAR WHILE IT IS STILL RUNNING. IF YOU START THE CAR WITH THE PASSENGER ALREADY IN THE SEAT THE SYSTEM WORKS PROPERLY. THIS HAPPENS ALMOST EVERYDAY. THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP SAYS THIS IS KNOWN ISSUE BUT DOES NOT KNOW HOW TO FIX IT. I KNOW THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE, BUT MY CAR IS NOT ON THAT RECALL. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 NISSAN SENTRA. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS STARTED OR WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, IT SHOOK INTERMITTENTLY. THE FAILURE RECURRED FOUR TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, BUT THE MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 500.
RANDOMLY MY BRAKE PEDAL GOES TO THE FLOOR WITH NO BRAKING ABILITY. IT HAS HAPPENED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS, THANK GOODNESS WHILE BACKING UP OR PARKED- HAVE HAD NO BRAKING ABILITY. I TOOK IT IN THE A NISSAN DEALER ( I HAD IT TOWED), AND THEY DEEMED IT OK. INFACT THEY SAID, I WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR THE TOWING, SINCE THEY HAD NO TICKET. IN THE END I DID NOT PAY IT. THEY BLED THE BRAKES AT THE END OF THE SERVICE APPOINTMENT, FOR AWHILE THE BRAKES WERE FINE. BUT RECENTLY IT HAS STARTED AGAIN, WHICH I WONDER IF AIR IS GETTING IN THE LINE SOMEHOW OR SOMETHING ELSE IS WRONG. I CALLED NISSAN CORP, AND THEIR POSITION IS THAT,"TRAINED TECHNICIANS DEEMED IT OK". WELL IT IS NOT, AND I AM GOING TO TAKE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE IT WAS LEASED. IT IS HARD TO BELIEVE THAT NISSAN CORP WOULD TAKE THIS STANCE WHEN BRAKES ARE INVOLVED. THE PROBLEM IS IT DOESN'T DO IT ALL THE TIME, BUT WHAT IF I AM DRIVING 55 MILES AN HOUR AND NO BRAKES? WHAT THEN? I AM UPSET, BUT I WILL GET TO THE BOTTOM OF THIS. THANK YOU. *TR

VEHICLE AIR BAG INDICATES NO PASSENGER ON DRIVER SEAT WHILE MY HUSBAND DRIVING AND IM SEATING HAPPENED, OCCASIONALLY, AIR BAG INDICATE IS OFF. NOTIFIED DEALER AND NISSAN AFTER GOING AND COMING FROM LAS VEGAS TRIP ABOUT 1600 MILES TRIP. DEALER PERFORM FIX THE PROBLEM. GOOD THING NO ACCIDENT HAPPENED. NEVER RECEIVE RECALL. *TR
I HAVE THE SAME ISSUES AS DESCRIBED IN YOUR INVESTIGATION "PE14-014." IN ADDITION, WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE ON A PAVED ROAD AT APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH, ALL OF A SUDDEN, IT WAS AS IF THE VEHICLE TOOK OVER THE STEERING, CAUSING ME TO HIT A CURB. NO DAMAGE WAS INCURRED, HOWEVER IT WAS VERY SCARY. MY CONCERN IS OBVIOUS, WHAT IF THE VEHICLE DOES THIS AGAIN WHEN I AM DRIVING ON A FREEWAY @ 65 MPH? THIS WAS NOT AN ISOLATED INCIDENT WHEN "THE VEHICLE" HIT THE CURB. THE ABILITY TO BE IN CONTROL OF THE STEERING HAS BEEN TAKEN OVER BY THE CAR SEVERAL TIMES. THIS IS A NEW CAR AND I FIND IT EXTREMELY HARD TO BELIEVE I AM HAVING ALL THESE PROBLEMS. THESE ARE NOT EVERYDAY GENERAL MAINTENANCE ISSUES. THESE ARE MAJOR ISSUES WHICH COULD EASILY CAUSE A SERIOUS ACCIDENT WHEREBY I WOULD PROBABLY BE FOUND TO BE AT FAULT, WHEN THE REAL PERSON AT FAULT IS THE VEHICLE MANUFACTURER! THIS IS BEING DOCUMENTED AND SAVED BY ME SHOULD, GOD FORBID, A SERIOUS ACCIDENT HAPPENS. ANY DIRECTION YOU MAY HAVE IS APPRECIATED.
RIGHT AFTER BUYING MY SENTRA I NOTICED CREEKING EVERYTIME I WOULD TURN THEN TOOK IT IN AND THEY REPLACED THE STRUTS. IT STILL CREEKED AFTER THEY REPLACED THE STRUTS SO THEY ADDED RUBBER RINGS IT HELPED FOR A FEW DAYS BUT ITS STILL CREEKING BUT EVERY SO OFTEN. 2 ND MY CAR PULSES WHEN COMING TO A STOP AND WHEN I RELEASE THE BREAK AS WELL. 3RD THE IS A WHISLING NOISE THAT GETS LOUDER THE FASTER I GO AND IF ITS WINDY ITS EVEN LOUDER, IT SOUNDS LIKE IT IS ON THE FRONT LEFT SIDE. MY CAR ALSO SHAKES ROUGHLY TIME TO TIME. THE DEALER IS NOW SAYING THEY CANT HEAR ANYTHING THEREFOR WILL NOT FIX ANY OF THESE ISSUES. I CALLED NISSAN USA AND OPENED A CASE SHE SAID THE SAME THING, IF THEY CANT DUPLICATE THE ISSUE THEY WONT FIX IT, THEN I WAS TOLD TO BY REP TO TRADE IT IN IF I DONT LIKE IT. *TR
TURNED THE CAR ON TO BACK OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY. I PUT THE CAR IN REVERSE AND STARTED BACKING DOWN THE DRIVEWAY. EVERYTHING WAS FINE WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN IT SEEMED AS IF THE CAR TURNED OFF. AND THE BRAKES WOULD NOT WORK. I TRIED MULTIPLE TIMES TO BRAKE AND IT WOULDN'T STOP. MY CAR WENT DOWN THE DRIVEWAY WHICH IS SITUATED ON A HILL AND HIT A UTILITY POLE. ONCE THE CAR BOUNCED OFF THE POLE IT CAME TO A STOP. I PLACED THE CAR IN PARK AND TRIED TO RESTART THE CAR. IT TOOK ME 2 TIMES OF PUSHING THE START BUTTON BEFORE THE CAR WOULD START AGAIN. *TR
AFTER CAR HAD SIT OVER WEEKEND STARTED CAR AND BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR. CAR DROVE FINE BUT AFTER SITTING 2-3 HOURS DID SAME. DEALER SAYS ITS VACUUM BLEEDING OFF BUT AFTER READING ABOUT I BELIEVE SOMETHING IS NEEDED TO BE DONE. WILL BE BACK TO DEALER TOMORROW. *JS

TODAY 10/14/2014 PASSENGER AIR BAG FAILS TO ACTIVATE WHILE PASSENGER ON BOARD. L VIDEO RECORD TO INCIDENT. SO MANUFACTURERS REPROGRAM FAIL TO FIX THE ISSUE. FOUR MONTHS AFTER PURCHASE OF THIS VEHICLE, THE BRAKES GO TO THE FLOOR AS IF BLEEDING AN OLD BRAKE SYSTEM. THIS HAPPENS WHEN CAR IS IN REVERSE OR GOING FORWARD. I HAVE TO PUMP THE BRAKE SEVERAL TIMES TO RISE THE PETAL UP. BRAKE PRESSURE IS ALWAYS LOW HAVING TO PRESS ALMOST TO THE FLOOR TO STOP.
AT 35 MPH, CAR LOST POWER DECELERATING RAPIDLY TO 1 MPH. THE DASHBOARD LIT UP WITH 5-6 WARNING LIGHTS AS BRAKES, ENGINE, SKID CONTROL, ETC. DEALERSHIP COULD NOT DETERMINE PROBLEM AND HAD TO CALL NISSAN FOR ASSISTANCE. CAR HAD TO BE TOWED. THE PROBLEM WAS CAUSED BY AN A/C PRESSURE SWITCH--92136-1FADA. *TR

WHILE PASSENGER ON SITE. AFTER WHEN WE COMEBACK FROM VACATION I LET THEM TOW THE VEHICLE TO LAS CRUCES NM JACK KEY NISSAN ABOUT PULL, DRIFT AND SUDDEN PULL AND PASSENGER AIR BAG ISSUES. WHEN WE PICKED UP THE VEHICLE WHICH NOT FIX. L ASK ABOUTTHE AIR BAG ISSUES, DEALERS SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE RESPONSE, THERE'S A RECALL ON THIS ISSUE, YOU DIDN'T GET THE RECALL NOTICE. AS OF TODAY WE DIDN'T. WHY THEY SELLING A CAR WITH ISSUES. AFTER ARE VEHICLES CONTINUES ISSUES WE DROVE 2013 NISSAN SENTRA WITH TIRE MONITORING NOT WORKING AN PASSENGERSIDE AIRBAG NOT WORKING TIME TO TIME AS A RENTAL VEHICLE. L DO HAVE THE VIN NUMBER.
