Airbag did Not deploy when in a multi vehicle accident. Total loss, seat broke during impact, frame bent . Front end and rear end damage. Total hazard. I had maintenance done June 5 at Nissan dealer and was never notified of any open recalls.
The contact's son owned a 2016 Nissan Sentra. The contact stated that while her son was driving at an unknown speed, the brake pedal was depressed and failed to operate causing the vehicle to crash into another vehicle. A police report was filed. The contact mentioned that her son sustained bruised chest and the driver from the other vehicle sustained rib inquiries that needed medical attention. The vehicle was destroyed. The vehicle was towed to the tow lot. The dealer was not contacted. The contact contacted an independent mechanic and informed them that the vehicle was included in NHTSA campaign number: 21v135000 ( exterior lights). The manufacturer was notified of the failure and provided a reference number. The approximate failure mileage was 100,000.
In the event of an accident this vehicle doors will not open until the key is in the off position and removed from the ignition. You cannot exit the vehicle doors at any time when the motor is running or the key is still in the ignition. Death trap !
As my vehicle was exiting a major highway, the vehicle began to shake and putter. I was able to put my vehicle in park within 1 minute of this puttering. Once in park, the vehicle began to shake more rapidly and louder. I assumed something terrible was going to happen and shut the car off. After an hour and a half, I started the vehicle back up and not to my surprise experienced the puttering and shaking once again. I put the vehicle in drive and began to slowly step on the gas while turning into the road and the car shut completely off and slid back toward the curb with the engine light on and battery. I had to call AAA to have me towed home and on their arrival, they were able to back the vehicle up and forward as long as he pushed down full throttle. The AAA representative suggested through his knowledge of mechanics that it seems there is an issue with either the spark plugs or the fuel pump/filter combo. After changing the spark plugs and still having this issue tonight....we are leaning towards the pump as the issue. There were no lights or warnings prior to the shaking that began as stated in this entry.
I have replaced bumper clips twice. They continue to break off. Please advise whey these plastic clips break off. I'm afraid bumper can break off in highway and cause an accident.
The Red Airbag light is always on upon starting car
The component that malfunctioned is the gearshift. The vehicle gets stuck in the park position and the gear shift does not want to release the vehicle from this position. My safety is put at risk because of the vehicle malfunction. The dealer was informed of the problem. Last week the service technician said they would service the malfunction. However, they refused to provide the service to the gearshift instead stating the gearshift worked "well". Dealer further stated they would recommend replacing the gear shift if the malfunctioning continued to reoccur. I asked the dealer to replace the gear shift. The dealer refused to service the malfunction. The dealer passed the vehicle through state inspection. There are no warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms prior to the malfunction occurring. However, the dealer replaced a light bulb during the inspection procedure. The malfunction started to occur in September 2021. The dealer was notified of the malfunction at that time and also refused to service upon notification.
I took my vehicle for the recall and it has not been fixed and it has been a long time. I was told that it has not yet been shipped yet but order placed.
My car is having transmission issues I’ll be driving and it will lose power or the speed limit will decrease makes it very unsafe to drive it will do this out of no where will be on the freeway and it will go from 60 to 15
I was driving onto the highway trying to accelerate past 40mph and the car started jerking really bad. I almost rear ended another vehicle luckily I was able to just avoid them . I quickly pulled over and cut the car off when I cut it back on the check engine light came on. it was around 2am so I drove it home the best That I could and took it to get diagnosed the next morning. I was told the transmission had sent about 4 failure codes and that I would need a new one. The need of a new transmission was confirmed for my the Nissan dealership themselves. My car has never done anything remotely like that before hand. I felt my life was put at grave risk and others around me. Knowing my car had began to had a jerking motion of which is almost very uncontrollable.
The car would not start.Yes it was inspected at the car repair shop.I have had to jump start the car many times
wE HAVE ALREADY PAID MONEY TO HAVE THE RECALL ISSUE FIXED WITH A DEALER. I AM NOT SURE IF IT WILL BE THE SAME FIX BUT WE WOULD REQUEST TO BE REFUNDED FOR THE PARTS AND LABOR WE HAD DONE ON THE CAR FOR THE SAME ISSUE.

VEHICLE RPMS INCREASE DURING HIGHWAY SPEEDS- DEALERSHIP DETERMINED IT WAS A KNOWN CVT
MY VEHICLE HAS BEEN SHUDDERING WHEN IT SHIFTS AND ALSO JERKS DURING SHIFTING AND THE VEHICLE STALLED WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON THE HWY, AND STALLED WHEN I WAS STOPPED AT THE RED LIGHT, I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY ITS HAPPENING AT 117107 MILES, I WAS TOLD IT WAS MY TRANSMISSION ACTING UP, I HAVE A 3 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER AND THE VEHICLE IS STARTING TO FEEL UNSAFE TO DRIVE

The vehicle was taken to the local dealer and it was confirmed that parts were not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact was concerned about driving the vehicle. The manufacturer was not notified of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. VIN tool confirms parts are not available.
MY CAR HAS 92,000 MILES. AS OF 3 DAYS IT'S BEEN ACTING UP I WENT TO A MECHANIC AND THEY SAID I NEEDED TO REPLACE MY TRANSMISSION. THAT IT WASN'T SENDING ENOUGH SIGNAL TO THE ENGINE TO HAVE MY CAR RUN. WHEN I STEP ON THE GAS IT GOES AROUND 10MPH BUT 2 DAYS AGO IT COMPLETELY STOPPED. AND I GOT A LETTER ON THE MAIL A WHILE BACK THAT IT HAD A RECALL
THE ENGINE LIGHT POPPED ON AND THEN THE CAR WOULDN'T ACCELERATE THE ODOMETER DIDN'T PASS 0MPH YOU HAVE TO REPEATEDLY RESTART THE CAR TO EVEN GET THE CAR TO 20 MPH. WHEN GOING UP A HILL THE CAR WOULDN'T GO FAST ENOUGH SO I STARTED TO ROLL BACK. GOT THE CAR SCANNED AND THE THINGS THAT POPPED UP WAS P0744, P285A, P0715
VEHICLE STARTED HAVING ISSUES WITH RPMS GOING UP, BUT LOSING POWER, JERKING, AND THEN ON 01-14-21 IT COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN IN THE MIDDLE OF A STREET INTERSECTION AND I ALMOST GOT T-BONED. I WAS TOLD BY NISSAN TO TAKE TO DEALERSHIP FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING AND THEY WOULD REVIEW THE WARRANTY ISSUE IF IT WAS THE TRANSMISSION FAILURE THAT THEY HAVE BEEN SUED FOR. THE MILEAGE WAS 108,000 WHEN IT WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER BECAUSE I DID NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING IT. DEALERSHIP CONFIRMED TRANSMISSION NEEDS REPLACED FOR JUST UNDER $4000. CALLED NISSAN CORP BACK WHO SENT THE INFO UP FOR REVIEW. ON 01-19-21 I RECEIVED A CALL FROM COLLEEN WHO STATED SHE IS THE DISTRICT MANAGER AND THE VEHICLE IS NO LONGER COVERED UNDER WARRANTY AND THEY 'HAVE FULFILLED THEIR OBLIGATION'. EACH QUESTION WAS ANSWERED WITH THE SAME VERBATIM RESPONSE. I ASKED TO HAVE THE CASE BE ESCALATED ABOVE COLLEEN DUE TO THE FACT THE TRANSMISSION WENT BAD EARLY DUE TO THEIR FAULTY CVT SYSTEM THEY CONTINUE TO SELL AND HAVE NOT RECALLED. AFTER BEING TOLD SHE DOES NOT HAVE A BOSS, COLLEEN STATED THEY WILL GIVE ME THE SAME ANSWER AS SHE MAKES THE DECISION AND THEY HAVE MET THEIR OBLIGATION. I ASKED SHE ESCALATE IT ANYWAYS. I HAVE YET TO HEAR FROM ANYONE ELSE AT THE NISSAN CORP.
MY CAR STARTED JERKING WHILE DRIVING. AFTER DRIVING FOR A WHILE, IT WOULD SUDDENLY GO INTO LYMPH MODE WHILE BEING OPERATED. THIS WAS VERY UNSAFE WHILE I WAS PREGNANT. I CALLED NISSAN AND THEY SAID I COULDN'T BE HELPED BECAUSE I WAS PASSED 84,000 MILES. HOWEVER I LOOKED ONLINE AND IT SAID SOMETHING TOTALLY DIFFERENT. THE DEALER MCDONOUGH NISSAN (1775 AVALON PARKWAY, MCDONOUGH, GA 30253, (770) 282-5077) STATED THAT THE EXTENDED WARRANTY WAS ACTIVE UP TO 84,000 FOR ISSUE THAT WAS DIAGNOSED WITH THE TRANSMISSION. A DIAGNOSTIC TEST WAS PERFORMED AND CONFIRMED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER CONFIRMED THAT THE WARRANTY WAS GOOD UP TO 84,000 MILES. ADDITIONALLY, THE VIN WAS NOT UNDER RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT A LETTER WAS MAILED TO EXTEND THE WARRANTY COVERAGE FOR THE TRANSMISSION HOWEVER, THE CONTACT HAD NOT RECEIVED THE LETTER. THE MANUFACTURER CALLED THE CONTACT BACK AND REFUSED TO PROVIDE ANY HELP. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 112,000.
77,000 MILES AND NO OTHER ISSUES. GO WILL GO INTO GEAR BUT WONT GO.
ENGINE REFUSES TO START. ALSO ENGINE STALLS WHEN DRIVEN. CAR IN MOTION.
WHEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE THE RPMS WILL GO UP BUT THE SPEED WILL NOT INCREASE. IT WILL TAKE OFF FINE AS LONG AS YOU DON'T SIT STILL FOR A LONG TIME. BUT THE RPMS WILL REV UP AND IT WILL NOT SPEED UP
I WANT TO BE REIMBURSE FOR HAVING TO PAY TO HAVE MY TRANSMISSION REPLACED. I GOT MY CAR WITH 30 SOMETHING MILES ON IT, BOUGHT IT OFF THE LOT, BECAUSE I WANTED A GOOD CAR THAT WOULDN'T NEED REPAIRS OR BREAK DOWN ON ME. COME TO FIND OUT, NISSAN HAD A KNOWN TRANSMISSION ISSUE ON THEIR CARS AND WAS PAYING FOR SOME REPAIRS BUT BECAUSE MINE WAS A FEW MILES OVER THE "CUT OFF" NUMBER OF MILES, MINE WAS NOT COVERED. I HAD TO PAY 3 THOUSAND + DOLLARS TO HAVE IT FIXED, WHICH I DIDN'T HAVE. I NEEDED TO GET A LOAN TO PAY FOR THE REPAIRS ON A GARBAGE CAR THAT YOU ALL KNEW HAD TRANSMISSION ISSUES AND AGREED TO PAY FOR SOME TRANSMISSIONS BUT BECAUSE MINE WAS A FEW MILES OVER YOUR ALLOWED MILES, YOU DID NOT PAY WHEN YOUR THE MULTI MILLION DOLLAR COMPANY WHO MADE THESE CARS INCORRECTLY!! YOU CAN AFFORD TO PAY FOR MY REPAIRS IF YOU PAID FOR EVERYONE ELSE'S TRANSMISSIONS!! I'M A SINGLE MOTHER OF 6 KIDS WHO DOES NOT HAVE 3 THOUSAND + DOLLARS LAYING AROUND FOR A CAR THAT I THOUGHT WAS A GOOD CAR!!! WHEN DRIVING AT ABOUT 75MPH FOR LONGER THAN AN HOUR, ESPECIALLY WHEN DRIVING UPHILL, THIS 2016 NISSAN SENTRA COULD SUDDENTLY LOSE PART OF THE POWER AND RESULT AN UNSTABLE SPEED OF THE VEHICLE, AND THE ENGINE REVOLUTION WILL BOOST UP HIGHER THAN NORMAL.
MY 2016 NISSAN SENTRA THAT IS EQUIPPED WITH THE CVT TRANSMISSION HAS BEEN JERKING AND SLIPPING GEARS WHILE DRIVING. IT HAD BECOME HIGHLY UNRELIABLE AND UNSAFE TO DRIVE AND ONLY HAS 105000 MILES ON THE VEHICLE. IT IS GARAGE KEPT AND IS MY WIFES ONLY MEANS OF TRANSPORTATION TO AND FROM WORK AND WE HAVE A 1 YESR OLD DAUGHTER WHO SHE DRIVES SROUND IN THE SENTRA FOR DOCTORS APPOINTMENTS AND TO WORK. WE HAVE TRIED CONTSCTING THE NISSAN OF MUSKOGEE DEALERSHIP TO GET THIS ISSUE RESOLVED AND GET OUR VEHIVLE EITHER REPAIRED OR REPLACED AND NO ONE SEEMS TO BE WILLING TO HELP US NEITHER THE DEALERSHIP OR NISSAN OF AMERICA ON THE ISSUE AT HAND.
THE CVT IN THE TRANSMISSION IS FAILING. WHEN I WAS DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE I TRIED TO GO 75 AND MY VEHICLE WOULD NOT GET UP TO SUCH SPEED LEADING ME TO DRIVE UNDER 60 UNTIL I MADE IT TO THE NEAREST EXIT. WHEN STOP MY CAR SMELT AS IF IT WAS A BURNING SMELL COMING THROUGH MY VENTS AND UNDER MY HOOD. I THEN STOPPED SO MY CAR COULD COOL FOR ABOUT A HR THEN PROCEED DRIVING HOME DURING 40 IN THE SLOW LANE BACK HOME. MY VEHICLE IS NOW PARKED AND NISSAN IS SAYING DUE TO MY CAR NOT BEING LISTED BY VIN THAT MY CAR ISN'T APART OF THE CVT TRANSMISSION LAWSUIT EVEN THOUGH IT'S IN THAT CATEGORY. I WAS NEVER NOTIFIED BY MAIL PHONE NOR EMAIL ABOUT THE ISSUE REGARDING THE ISSUES AND WOULDN'T HAVE KNOWN IF THIS PROBLEM DID NOT OCCUR.

BROUGHT THIS 2016 IN APRIL OF 2020, AFTER I INITIALLY DROVE IT , MY DAUGHTER TOOK OVER DRIVING IT SINCE I'M A DISABLED VETERAN. MY FIANCE DROVE THE VEHICLE IN JUNE AND REALIZED IT WAS A DIFFERENT FEELING WITH THE CAR . TOOK IT TO THE SHOP AND THEY REPLACED TWO FRONT TIRES AND PERFORM A TUNE UP . MY YOUNG DAUGHTER PICK IT FROM THE SHOP AND WENT OFF TO COLLEGE IN BALTIMORE,MARYLAND. SHE RETURNED TO PALM BEACH IN SEPTEMBER .AFTER SHE GOT HOME , THE CAR JUST CUT OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD UNEXPECTED. MY FIANCE TOOK THE CAR FOR A DRIVE AND NOTICE IT DOING THE SAME THING. TOOK IT TO TWO SHOPS WHO INFORMED ME TWO DIFFERENT DIAGNOSIS., ONE BEING THE TRANSMISSION. THEY INFORM ME TO CONTACT NISSAN WHO IN TURN TOLD ME IT WAS THE TRANSMISSION. WE HAD TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO A DIFFERENT LOCATION AT WHICH TIME ON 9/13/2020 , MY DAUGHTER HAD A ACCIDENT DUE TO THE FACT THE CAR COULDN'T PICK UP SPEED FAST ENOUGH TO MERGE INTO THE NEXT LANE . I'M HAPPY MY DAUGHTER WASN'T HURT BUT DEVASTATED THAT THIS CAR , 4 YEARS OLD IN MY POSSESSION ABOUT 4 MONTHS NEEDS A TRANSMISSION REPAIR. I DIDN'T EXPECT THIS FROM A VEHICLE THAT I STILL HAVE 3 YEARS REMAINING AND FROM NISSAN WHICH I THOUGHT WAS A RELIABLE COMPANY.
BOTH THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER DOOR, DOOR HANDLES ARE COMING APART AT THE SAME TIME. UNABLE TO USE THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR HANDLE, MUST OPEN IT FROM THE INSIDE OF THE CAR. DIVERS SIDE DOOR HANDLE IS BREAKING INTO TWO (2) PIECES.
2016 NISSAN SENTRA DRIVING IN THE HIGHWAY ESPECIALLY, I WILL HAVE THE RPM JUMP FROM 2 TO 4.5 WHEN DRIVING WITH CRUISE CONTROL ON AT 73MPH, I LOSE POWER AND DROP TO 55-60MPH. I DEPRESS THE GAS TO BRING IT BACK UP TO SPEED AND THE CAR WILL JERK AND SHAKE BEFORE I AM ABLE TO GAIN A SAFE SPEED AGAIN. THERE IS TIMES WHEN I HAVE TO PULL OVER, REST FOR A FEW MINUTES AND RESTART MY CAR TO GET TO MY DESTINATION. I HAD TO TAKE MY CAR INTO A NISSAN DEALERSHIP SERVICE, MY CVT TRANSMISSION IS FAILING AND COULD STOP AT ANY MOMENT, I NEED TO REPLACE IT FOR $4,400. NISSAN IS NOT TAKING RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE DEFECTIVE CVT, THE CAR IS 4 YEARS OLD. I BOUGHT IT AS MY MOST RELIABLE VEHICLE.

I HAD RECENTLY DRIVING A 2016 NISSAN SENTRA I OWN. I WAS DRIVING ON AN INTERSTATE IN MY AREA AND ALL OF A SUDDEN THE CAR SIGNIFICANTLY DECELERATED WHILE STALLING TO ABOUT 30 MILE PER HOUR. I IMMEDIATELY PULLED OVER FROM THE RIGHT LANE ONTO THE SHOULDER. THANK GOODNESS I WAS IN THE RIGHT LANE AND HAD THE SHOULDER JUST TO MY RIGHT AS TRAFFIC WAS RELATIVELY HEAVY. CANDIDLY I THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO CRASH THE VEHICLE AS I DID SWERVE AT ABOUT 45 MILES PER HOUR. KEEP IN MIND I WAS TRAVELING AT 65 MILE PER HOURS. THE CAR IS NOW WITH WOODFIELD NISSAN IN SCHAUMBURG, IL SINCE THURSDAY, JULY 30. THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT INFORMED ME I HAVE TO REPLACE THE ELECTRONIC CONTROL UNIT (EGI). I DID NOT KNOW WHAT THIS WAS AND THAT THE COST WOULD BE ALMOST $3,000. I ASKED ABOUT RECALLS AND WAS TOLD THAT THERE ARE RECALLS FOR THIS SAME MODEL YEAR CAR BUT MY CAR DID NOT MEET NISSAN?S REQUIREMENT SINCE THE VIN #?S WERE ALREADY IDENTIFIED . I HAVE DONE MY RESEARCH REGARDING THIS KNOWN DEFECT WITH THIS VEHICLE. NISSAN ONLY AGREED TO VOLUNTARILY RECALL VEHICLES DURING A CERTAIN TIMEFRAME. I'M NOT CLEAR WHY MY VEHICLE VIN#[XXX] IS NOT COVERED UNDER THE RECALL, I'M EXPERIENCING WHAT THE RECALL OUTLINED. I HAVE SEEN NUMEROUS CASES REPORTED ONLINE. I WAS ABLE TO LOCATE CAMPAIGN CODE PM6580. NISSAN IS NOT WILLING TO COOPERATE AND ASSIT WITH THE CURRENT PRODUCTION ISSUE I?M EXPERIENCING. MY 2016 NISSAN HAS BEEN AT WOODFILED NISSAN SINCE 7/30 WITH THE HARNESS ON BACKORDER. I'M NOT CERTAIN WHY VIN# WAS NOT PART OF THE RECALL AS I'M EXPERIENCING THE DEFECT IN A PRODUCTION ENVIRONMENT, WHILE IT?S A VERY DANGEROUS PRODUCTION ISSUE. ANOTHER INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WAS CONTACTED AND THE CONTACT WAS QUOTED A COST OF $800 TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000.

THE CAR IS IN MOTION WHEN THIS ALL HAPPENS BUT AS SOON AS I TURN IT ON IT STARTS MAKING A WEIRD SOUNDS THAT IS OUT OF THE ORDINARY

THERE IS CLICKING NOISE THAT IS COMING FROM THE RIGHT REAR SIDE WHEN SLOW DOWN OR COMING TO STOP AFTER BRAKING. I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE IN FEBRUARY AND NOTICED IT THEN. WAS TOLD BY NISSAN OF MOBILE IN MOBILE AL THAT THEY COULD NOT HEAR IT AND EVERYTHING WAS FINE. I KEPT TELLING EVERYTIME THEY SERVICE MY CAR THAT THE NOISE WAS GETTING LOUDER. LONG STORY SHORT THEY TOLD ME TO GO BACK TO OHIO WHERE THE CAR CAME SINCE IT LOOK LIKE THE BUT ON AFTERMARKET DRUM ON THE CAR. THEY DID NOT HELP ME AT ALL. BUT I SEEN OTHER COMPLAINTS ONLINE REGARDING THEY HAD TO GET THE C-CLIP FIX AND THE NOISE WENT AWAY.
