The contact owns a 2020 Nissan Sentra. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V581000 (Steering) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated while driving 40-50 MPH, the steering wheel and the vehicle shuddered violently. Additionally, the front wheels were wobbling abnormally. The contact stated that the failure also occurred while driving at a slower speed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the tie rod had fractured. The contact stated that the dealer declined to perform an interim repair because the tie rod was not bent; however, the recall remedy involved replacing bent or broken tie rods, free of charge. The contact stated that the failure had been recurring increasingly while driving. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer who declined to perform the interim repair. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000. VIN tool confirms parts not available.

While in reverse, my backup camera does not engage, instead it will display a blue scree or altered fuzzy incomplete image of what's behind me. While parking, parking collision warning will go off displaying a warning and sound with multiple beeps while my automatic emergency braking system will engage my brakes while reversing unexpectedly without obstacles in the way. This causes whiplash, panic, to the driver and sudden stops causing a hazard to other drivers while wearing out my braking system I've had to replace brake pads and roaders due to warping more frequently than normal function. While driving the forward collision warning will display a malfunction warning on my dash and sometimes engages my brakes unexpectedly with no object in front of me. This has led to sudden stops in the middle of the road causing other cars to slam their brakes so they don't rear-end me. I have reported this to a local mechanic while we replaced my shocks, he stated there was wires loose and he secured them causing my backup camera to work for a short time after. It soon went back to being a blue screen or having an altered fuzzy image when reversing. These has been a reoccurring issue but I am in Germany so I have yet to find a dealership willing to inspect the vehicle. I believe the first issues started in March 2024 after I purchased the car from a friend.

The contact stated that the vehicle had not been drivable since February 2024 due to the failure and the parts not being available to repair the vehicle. The dealer was made aware of the failure but confirmed that parts were not yet available. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 38,047. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
Recently I discovered that it's impossible for the home mechanic to check the transmission fluid level for the Nissan Sentra 2020 (and newer). No, I'm not talking about the removal of the transmission dipstick. What I am talking about is the fact that Nissan has removed the Overflow Tube that is found within the drain plug housing. The Overflow Tube existed for Sentras up until 2019. However, it was removed in 2020. Without the Overflow Tube it is impossible to verify that the transmission fluid level is correct. I contacted two local Nissan dealerships and they confirmed that the only way to check the transmission fluid level was to visit their service department. This is outrageous and unethical. When people are unable to maintain their transmissions properly, there will certainly be transmission breakdowns and accidents related to transmission problems. Nissan should be held accountable.
AEB; Forward & Rear Collision Warning indicator light just showed up on Feb 2024. Dashboard message indicating malfunction
I started hearing a swishing noise like water, i didn't think anything of it till i opened my back driver side door and heard the swishing again. My friend lifted the weather stripping on bottom of door and a-lot of water came gushing out. It had rained alot that year. This could cause electrical issues and body rot. Also my car wont start due to not recognizing the fob. I have to disconnect battery snd reconnect to start my car from time to time.
Vehicle is burning oil too fast. First 2 oil changes seems normal but after the next few oil change seem to last a shorter time. Know it’s only lasting 6 weeks.keep getting service know message even though it just went threw service a few days ago Getting check engine light on for lost of power in engine and hearing load nosies coming from engine like cracking loses burned oil buildup even thought this car goes threw regular oil change maintenance. Oil is burning to quick within weeks. Radio loses power when driveing restarts its self as if I turned the car on and off. Car window also loses power the windows won’t go down with the buttons even off car is fully on as if it had child lock on it when it doesn’t happens for a few days goes away then happens again it’s an on and off problem with the windows.
The cruise control stopped working and there is a collision/crash malfunction.
Engine malfunction when milage at 37000 miles. The service only update computer system of the car and could not address the problem at all.
Drivers lock on door does not open and close also window don’t go up and down . Car has only 18,000 miles. I see many complaints on this. There should be a recall and consumers should not pay for this. Will be going to Nissan to see what they can do for me
The contact owns a 2020 Nissan Sentra. The contact stated that while driving at 65 MPH, the vehicle was vibrating abnormally. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V581000 (Steering) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed that the tie rod needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was approximately 30,000. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
Front collision isn't working. Warning on dash
The contact owns a 2020 Nissan Sentra. The contact stated that while in reverse(R), the rearview camera image failed to display. No warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer, where it was repaired under warranty; however, the failure reoccurred. The same local dealer was contacted, but the vehicle was not repaired because there was no recall associated with the VIN. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 32,440.
Drivers side door will not open at all on cold mornings. All other doors work properly. Locking mechanism won’t unlock door, manually or with key fob. Classic Nissan of Sanford and Nissan Corporate were made aware and state there is nothing they can or will do. They were informed around 15k miles and said “wait for it to warm up.” But if I have my emergency I literally cannot get out of the car unless I crawl over the center console, which is really hard to do as I have a disability!!! If I were to be in an emergency I would not be able to get out of the car easily and would probably die. I cannot get into the car in the colder mornings but only that door, so it’s not a lock or motor issue.
Backup camera failed. The camera went blank and I was unable to view behind me which could lead to potential injuring of myself or others. Dealer inspected and did not fix.
When I shift the car into reverse, the screen turns blue, rendering the camera completely unusable. This malfunction is extremely concerning as it creates a significant hazard when backing up, particularly in areas with pedestrians or other vehicles. The inability to see what is behind my car puts me and others at serious risk. Without a functioning rearview camera, I am at risk of accidentally hitting a person, especially a child or someone walking behind my vehicle. The blue screen also makes it difficult to judge the proximity of other cars or obstacles, increasing the likelihood of a collision. There was a recall issued for this exact issue in September 2023. My car was inspected by a Nissan dealership as part of this recall; however, no parts were replaced during the inspection. Despite the recall service, the issue with the rearview camera persists and is causing considerable concern. Given the severity of the problem and its potential to cause accidents, I believe the recall was insufficient in addressing the underlying issue. Simply inspecting the camera without replacing any parts has not resolved the problem
The contact owns a 2020 Nissan Sentra. The contact stated that their backup camera would fail to display the rear view intermittently. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V628000 (Back Over Prevention). The contact stated the failure persisted despite the recall remedy being completed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who inspected the vehicle under NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V628000 (Back Over Prevention) and determined that the camera did not need to be replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 16,000.
I was driving home on 10/23/23 when I lost control of the car, I tried my best to pull over and stayed on the side of the road. I came outside of the vehicle and saw that my tire was not operating but the tire was not popped. I saw that there was a piece hanging and I then looked it up and saw that it was my passenger right tie rod that broke off. I got a tow to get out of the danger zone of the street and then called the dealer the next day. I was told that it would be covered under a recall, all I needed to do was get it towed. When I towed it over to the dealer, they told me that it was not covered under the recall and that i would have to pay out of pocket. I have an invoice or the tow and the PAID tie rod that i had to end up getting. Even though the recall would have covered it.
Car was in a hit and run accident on June 29, 2023 where another car slid up the whole passenger side of the car damaging the front side so car could not be driven. Car was repaired, given back but not performing correctly. Car was taken back and told unsafe to drive. They did more repairs on the car, gave it back and car still not performing correctly. Car taken back for a second time, deemed unsafe, repaired, and given back. Car still didn't seem to be right. On October 21, 2023 daughter was on the way to Nissan to check out a recall on tie rods because we just got a letter in the mail about them. The car started to vibrate. My daughter tried to pull off the road but the steering would not allow her to control the car. The car ended up in the middle median. She was cut out of the car and has hand injuries. Allstate is working on new claim. Car is total loss. Claim # [XXX] Claim agent :Nina Fandaco INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

The rear back up camera had a recall on my car. I took it to the dealer to have it replaced. The camera would sometimes work and sometimes not work. When it wasn’t working the screen would either remain black or royal blue showing no picture at all. When I arrived at the Wesley Chapel Nissan in Wesley Chapel Fl I explained to them that the camera does not work correctly and that I had been notified by mail that my car had a recall with the camera according to my VIN number. The dealership looked at my car and stated that the camera was working fine. They then closed the case and marked it as being repaired. The camera on my car had never been fixed. I took my car to them at a later date for an oil change and explained the camera was not working. They once again said they would look at it. They never fixed the camera just said nothing was wrong with it. A few more months had passed and the camera was not working at all. I called to ask if they’d look at it again and they told me there would be a charge. I didn’t take the car in because I didn’t feel I should have to pay a diagnostic fee for something they should have fixed prior. I brought my car to them once again for an oil change and asked them to look at it again. This time they said the camera was not working but they couldn’t do anything because the case was closed. I called Nissan motor company, they opened a case and said they would look into it and I would have to apply for financing. At this point I was livid. They ended up stating that I would have to pay for half of the repairs for something that was recalled. I called the local dealer today to see if there was anything else that could be done because they are the ones who closed the recall. They said they couldn’t help me. I am driving a 2020 Nissan Sentra. There was never any warning lamps stating the camera was failing. The screen goes to blue when put in reverse.
The contact owns a 2020 Nissan Sentra. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V581000 (Steering) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact stated that while his son was driving at an undisclosed speed, the contact stated his son slowed down the vehicle to make a turn. The contact's son stated he heard a loud noise and the tire pressure warning light illuminated. The contact stated his son parked the vehicle and the contact's son noticed that the front passenger side tire was flat. The contact's son replaced the flat tire with the spare tire. The contact's son drove the vehicle to a local tire shop and purchased a replacement tire. The contact stated that three days later, while the contact's son was driving, the tie rod fractured. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The vehicle was diagnosed with a fractured tie rod. The tie rod needs replaced. The dealer confirmed that parts were not yet available. The dealer informed the contact that the recall repair did not apply because the driver had to come in contact with a pothole or a curb to cause the damage. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 18,500. VIN Tool Confirms Parts Not Available
On a few occasions, while driving, the forward collision warning came on causing the car to automatically brake when there were no cars in front of or around the car. Brought the car to dealer and was quoted $2057.50. After that, all 4 automatic door locks stopped working. Brought car to dealer again and was quoted $1375.00 to replace the door actuators for a grand total of $3658.78. Nissan consumer affairs was called and they said they would only cover 50% of the repairs. These items are huge safety issues and Nissan should cover the entire bill.
2020 Nissan Sentra Backup Camera. The camera periodically goes out only displaying a blue screen. Researched and discovered it was a recall. Went to the dealership and asked them and they said my cars recall was marked as completed back in 2023 to which I had no knowledge of. The issue was not resolved and was just marked as cleared without proper inspection. Dealerships are refusing to fix the recall since it was already (incorrectly) marked as complete.
Catastrophic failure today. Car was towed with special tow truck to dealer after hours. Will know more tomorrow. While driving Passenger right front tire: upper tie rod broke, lower control arm broke, trans-axel broke, smoke came out of hood. Right before this happened the car experienced a shimmy in the steering wheel and to keep car driving straight I had hold steering wheel at angle to the right (40mph). Next the anti-lock brakes engaged then disengaged. Four or so miles later I got a dashboard warning that had “malfunction” on almost every system (all amber lights). I pulled over at gas station immediately called dealer and was advised to bring in it ASAP. I put the car in reverse attempted to back out of parking spot, got 4 feet out and a horrible clanking/popping noise happened maybe 3 times and smoke came from engine compartment. I tried to put car back in gear to pull back into parking spot - but car would not move forward or backward. Got out and visual inspection showed front right tire had torn away from car and was hanging and car body was sitting imbedded into tire causing a dent in the panel. First tow truck driver said damage was so bad, they had to call a different kind of tow truck. Car then towed to dealer tonight after hours. Don’t know full extent of damage yet, tow truck driver thought transmission damaged when axel pulled away. What happened preceding this: I had just got off I-95 after a 7 hour drive from Myrtle Beach. Was 2-3 miles off freeway when this happed. Had it happed just a few minutes earlier, it would have happened on freeway at 70mph. There would likely have been multiple fatalities. Dealer replaced both left and right trans axels within last 2 months a week apart (car was making clunking sound). Tie rods inspected (told they were fine). Ten days ago clunking again (sounded like it was coming from engine compartment near center console.) took back to dealer they inspected it, changed oil and could not duplicate noise
I got this vehicle pre owned by Carvana. My rear and head lights flicker off and on with any one touching them. My power inside the car like for the radio, heating and cooling will stop working for a few days and randomly come on when it wants. Then local Nissan broke my plastic undercarriage during my recall they didn’t complete and now it’s dragging across the ground.
I am writing to bring to your attention a critical issue regarding the recent malfunction of the actuator system in my 2020 Nissan Sentra. As a concerned consumer, I am compelled to report the circumstances that have led to significant safety concerns and financial burden. The details of this case are as follows: Vehicle Information: 2020 Nissan Sentra with approximately 43,000 miles. Initial Observation: It was discovered post-warranty that the car's locking mechanism was not functioning correctly. While I had assumed that the vehicle was locking upon using the key fob, it was only recently brought to my attention that this was not the case. Diagnostic Evaluation: Upon consulting a Nissan dealership, it was determined that the Actuator of the driver's door was defective and required immediate replacement. I consented to the suggested repair, which incurred an unexpected cost of $750. Unforeseen Complications: Following the initial repair, I was informed that the remaining actuators would also require replacement, posing an exorbitant additional financial burden. This development led to a grave concern as the sudden failure of all four actuators within a short span indicates a potential systemic issue rather than an isolated incident. Communication with Nissan: A formal request was made to Nissan for a thorough review of my case, under the reference number #49629281. However, despite the seriousness of the matter, I have yet to receive any substantial response or acknowledgement from Nissan, even after a waiting period of nearly two months. Considering the potential safety hazards and the unjustifiable financial strain imposed on me as a consumer, it is imperative that this matter is investigated further. The concurrent failure of all four actuators in a relatively new vehicle strongly suggests the possibility of an underlying electrical fault or a systemic defect in the manufacturing process.
On Sept 25 23 I was driving and the engine light came on the car stalled in traffic and would not move when I tried to go forward the car would not move. I called my insurance roadside service they had to tow the car to the dealer. The dealer said the cause of the problem was the transmission they had to replace the automatic CVT transaxle assembly. These cars need to be recalled because I had a 2018 nissan sentra with the same transmission problem.
The contact owns a 2020 Nissan Sentra. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the front passenger's side wheel was wobbling excessively. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, and the contact was informed that the tie rods needed to be replaced. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed that the inner tie rod was out of the boot. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The contact stated that the failure was related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V581000 (Steering). The failure mileage was approximately 40,000.
My car was taken to Nissan dealership three times and I was told it was safe to drive as they felt it was the recall for tie rod ends that have not been released for replacement at this time. I continued to have issues but was waiting to have tie rod ends replaced. I was turning into my driveway at a low rate of speed when I felt and heard a pop in my front end. After the pop I could move my steering wheel to either side approximately three inches and hear and feel the front end pop. The car is presently at Gateway Nissan in Greeneville TN. I am getting a run around from Nissan at this time as to wether they will pay for the car to be fixed or not. Gateway Nissan has inspected the car and diagnosed the failure of the steering rack. The attached video shows the third time the vibration occurred and the sound is the vibration which did not stop until the car stopped. I was sent out being told it was perfectly safe to drive. This occurred on Sept, 13, 2023 while car was still under warranty. Their phone number is 423-639-5151
The contact owns a 2020 Nissan Sentra. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V581000 (Steering) however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 45 MPH, there was a vibration in the steering wheel. The contact stated that while following the roadway in a left or right turn, the front tires started to vibrate, which made steering and controlling the vehicle very difficult. The contact stated no warning lights were illuminated. The contact drove the vehicle to an independent mechanic who diagnosed and determined that the vehicle front tie rods needed to be replaced. The mechanic advised the contact that there was a recall for the failure. The contact then remembered receiving notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V581000 (Steering). The failure mileage was approximately 89,000. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
The door locks simultaneously stopped working on the vehicle at the same time. The key fob chimes and the lights flash on the car but nothing happens with the door locks. The fuses all check out and you hear a sound when pushing the lock and unlock button but nothing happens. Faulty actuators seem to be a recurring problem with Nissan that I am hearing from other Sentra owners. This definitely presents a safety hazard because I have to manually lock all doors when I get out of the car. Also, in the event of an emergency I can not enter the car unless I undo the key fob and use the key to unlock it manually. I would hate for something to happen to me or my family while waiting to get in the car with how high crime has gotten with car thefts, car vandalism, and carjackings. Something needs to be done to remedy this problem for all Nissan owners to ensure our safety.
The contact owns a 2020 Nissan Sentra. The contact stated while driving 60 MPH and attempting to accelerate above 65 MPH, the vehicle began to vibrate violently, prompting the contact to decelerate. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed a failure with the passenger’s side tie rod. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related it to NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V581000 (Steering), but the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was 50,000.

At Freeway speeds the vehicle unaccurately reads the lanes and begins steering the vehicle out of the lanes. When this malfunction occurs, the steering wheel becomes entirely loose for a split second then returns back to a solid state causing over steering, lane departure and unstability in steering. After the malfunction occurs the vehicle begins steering like a "ping-pong ball game" between the lines (inaccurately) never allowing you to regain a center of steering. You turn the wheel to correct the inaccurate direction the vehicle is pulling and the steering flips to the opposite side and does this continuously once malfunction occurs until vehicle is parked and restarted. The steering becomes incredibly unsafe and erratic once malfunction occurs and other motor's take notice by providing massive bubble of space even within heavy traffic conditions. When steering malfunction occurs the front wheel feel as though they are falling off the vehicle and the rear end drags outside of turn radius sometimes with the vehicle traveling in a straight line sideways a few degrees. I've attempted to address this major safety concern 7 times now and even had sensors factory warranted when the vehicle was throwing codes pertaining to the issue. The problem is still increasing prevalent, the vehicle feels incredibly unsafe to drive and the dealership is gaslighting the issue with no resolve since there is nothing mechanically wrong and it isn't throwing codes. The vehicle began malfunctioning just outside of lemon law rights so I have no choice but to continue driving this sole means of transportation death trap or accept $10k in loss still owed.
When driving my sensors are ringing off as if someone is in front of my car. The brakes will be pushed down stopping the car while driving. Also when driving you hear a loud clicking noise which I was told before its my tired rod. I replaced this tired rod once before when it snapped while driving before this recall was put out. I have complained numerous times to my dealership and they are not taking this matter seriously.
When driving the forward collision avoidance system acts up. It will randomly slam on the breaks when nothing is in front. It also happens when cruise control is on, it will slam the breaks with an empty road ahead. It also thinks that there is something ahead when the road is clear ahead. This needs to be looked at because the number of complaints in regard to this is silly.

My vehicle randomly slammed on the brakes twice tonight within a 30 minute span. The first time was on a busy highway going about 45 mph at about 7:00 pm. The second time was on a residential street going about 25 mph at about 8:00 pm. Both times, the dashboard lit up red with hazard lights. Nothing was directly in front of me that would have caused the issue. Mileage is less than 20,000.
I was driving to pick up some body as Rideshare driver on as part time, and i crashed into a car was parking on the side of the road, I still have no idea why is that happend. But i think the Malfunction Warning that was on dash got something to do with it!
