DRIVING DOWN A DIRT ROAD AND MY SIDE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED AND I DIDN'T HIT ANYTHING. *TR
SHORTLY AFTER A RAINSTORM THIS VEHICLE (NISSAN TITAN 2006) WAS BEING DRIVEN LATE AT NIGHT ON AN UNPAVED COUNTRY ROAD IN THE VICINITY OF WEBSTER PARISH, LA. AS THE ROAD WAS WET AND THE VISIBILITY WAS VERY LIMITED IT WAS BEING DRIVEN NO FASTER THAN ABOUT 20 MILES PER HOUR WHEN THEY RAN INTO A RUT IN THE ROAD WITH THE LEFT FRONT TIRE AND THAT CAUSED THE AIRBAGS TO DEPLOY. WHEN THE VEHICLE RAN INTO THE RUT IN THE ROAD IT TILTED VERY SLIGHTLY AND THEN RIGHTED ITSELF. THERE WAS NO EXTERIOR DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE AND THERE WERE NO INJURIES TO THE PEOPLE RIDING IN THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN DRIVEN TO THE LOCAL NISSAN DEALERSHIP AND THEY CONTACTED NISSAN WHO SAID THAT THE AIRBAGS HAD DEPLOYED PROPERLY AND THEY WOULD NOT PAY ANY PART OF REPLACING THEM OR THE SEAT BELTS. THE NISSAN REPRESENTATIVE ALSO SAID THAT THE VEHICLES' COMPUTER SENT OUT AN 'ERROR CODE' THAT THE VEHICLE HAD ROLLED OVER. ALSO, WHEN WE DISCUSSED THIS ISSUE WITH ANOTHER NISSAN TRAINED AND CERTIFIED TECHNICIAN, WE WERE TOLD THAT 7 OUT OF 10 TITANS HAVE ISSUES WITH THEIR COMPUTERS AND THAT THE SENSOR UNDER THE VEHICLE IS PRONE TO COME LOOSE. IT DOESN'T SEEM LOGICAL THAT A MINOR INCIDENT LIKE THIS COULD CAUSE THE AIRBAGS TO DEPLOY AND HAVE TO BE REPLACED ALONG WITH THE SEAT BELTS UNLESS THE SYSTEM IN THIS VEHICLE WAS DEFECTIVE. IT COST MORE THAN $5,000 TO REPLACE THE AIRBAGS AND THE SEAT BELTS AND NISSAN WOULD NOT PAY ANY OF THIS AMOUNT. *TR
TIRE SIDEWALL SEPARATION. ON 4/25/2009, I PURCHASED 4 NEW TOYO OPEN COUNTRY H/T, P265/70R18 TRUCK TIRES FOR MY 2006 NISSAN TITAN PICKUP TRUCK. ON SUNDAY, 5/3/2010, I NOTICED THE RIGHT FRONT TIRE HAD A SMALL CHUNK OF THE BLACK OUTSIDE SIDEWALL MISSING. UPON INSPECTION, I COULD NOT FIND WHERE ANY TYPE OF DEBRIS HAD HIT THE TIRE, NOR COULD I FIND WHERE ANY OF THE OTHER TIRES HAD BEEN DAMAGED. THE FOLLOWING DAY, I TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER TO HAVE THEM INSPECT THE DAMAGE. AT THE TIME OF PURCHASE, THE TOTAL VEHICLE MILEAGE WAS 30,586. AS OF THIS DATE, THE MILEAGE IS 40,845. A TOTAL OF 10,259 MILES HAVE BEEN DRIVEN SINCE THE TIRES WERE PURCHASED. AS THE TIRES CAME WITH A 60K MILE DAMAGE WARRANTY, I WAS EXPECTING TO HAVE THE TIRE REPLACED AND TO PAY ANY MILEAGE ADJUSTMENT FEE. THE DEALER INSTEAD INFORMED ME THAT, BECAUSE OF THE TYPE OF DAMAGE, THEY WOULD HAVE TO CONTACT TOYO AND OBTAIN THEIR APPROVAL TO REPLACE THE TIRE. I WAS TOLD UNTIL TOYO CONTACTED THEM, THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO, BUT THAT IT WAS SAFE TO CONTINUE DRIVING THE VEHICLE. I HAVE CONTACTED THE DEALER REGULARLY, AND HAVE TOLD THAT TOYO HAS YET TO RESPOND. AFTER CHECKING THE NTSB.GOV WEBSITE, THE ONLY RECALL FOR A TIRE CLOSE TO THE ONE I HAVE MENTIONED IS A TOYO OPEN COUNTRY A/T MODEL. *TR
TRUCK STALLS WITH NO WARNING ABOUT ONCE A DAY. THE LATEST INCIDENT ON THE FREEWAY. LUCKY TO BE ALIVE. NISSAN REPLACED THE IPDM AT A COST OF $600 . *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 NISSAN TITAN. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NHTSA RECALL NOTICE ID NUMBER 10V074000 TWO MONTHS AGO (FUEL SYSTEM, OTHER: STORAGE: FUEL GAUGE SYSTEM) AND UPON CONTACTING THE DEALER THEY ADVISED HER THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE HAD EXPERIENCED THE FAILURE NUMEROUS TIMES PRIOR TO RECEIVING THE RECALL NOTICE. THE MANUFACTURER VERIFIED THAT THE PARTS WOULD BE AVAILABLE WITHIN THE NEXT THREE WEEKS. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE ALSO NOT AVAILABLE.
I HAVE OWNED MY 2006 TITAN CREW CAB SINCE 2008 AND HAVE HAD MULTIPLE BRAKE SERVICE REQUESTS PERFORMED FOR "BRAKE JUDDER". PREVIOUS SOLUTION WAS TO TURN THE ROTORS BACK TO TRUE UNTIL ROTORS CAN NO LONGER BE TURNED AND NEW OEM ROTORS ARE ACQUIRED THAT WILL START THE WHOLE PROCESS OVER AGAIN. THIS IS A TEMPORARY FIX FOR THE LARGER PROBLEM. BRAKE ROTOR SIZE AND MATERIAL SELECTED FOR THE 2006 NISSAN TITAN MODEL IS INADEQUATE TO PROVIDE ENOUGH SURFACE AREA AND VENTING FOR PROPER HEAT DISSIPATION TO PREVENT WARPAGE OF THE OEM BRAKE ROTORS. THIS BRAKE ROTOR TURNING SERVICE WAS PERFORMED 10,000 MILES AGO, 5,000 MILES AGO AND THE VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY IN NEED OF THE SAME SERVICE. A VEHICLE WITH LESS THAN 50,000 MILES THAT IS DRIVEN LESS THAN 12,000 MILES PER YEAR SHOULD NOT HAVE HAD 3 BRAKE SERVICE ISSUES FOR THE SAME MANUFACTURERS DEFECT. MY PERSONAL SOLUTION (BECAUSE NISSAN HAS FAILED TO RECOGNIZE THIS AS A DEFECT IN NEED OF A RECALL) IS TO UPGRADE THE OEM BRAKE HARDWARE WITH AFTERMARKET PERFORMANCE SLOTTED AND DIMPLED ROTORS AND CERAMIC BRAKE PADS TO PROVIDE FOR ADEQUATE HEAT DISSIPATION AND PREVENT ROTOR WARPAGE.
2006 NISSAN TITAN REAR AXEL SEALS LEAK GEAR OIL INTO REAR BRAKE SYSTEM. *TR
2006 NISSAN TITAN. NORMAL DRIVING, THE REAR WHEEL SEAL ON THE RIGHT SIDE IS LEAKING FLUID AGAIN AT 122K MILES. THIS WILL BE THE SECOND TIME THAT IT HAS TO BE REPLACED. *TR
I OWN A 2006 NISSAN TITAN WHICH HAS HAD TWO REAR AXLE SEALS LEAK. BOTH WERE FIXED UNDER WARRANTY BY MY LOCAL NISSAN DEALER. MY UNDERSTANDING IS THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH NISSAN TITANS AND POSES A SAFETY ISSUE SINCE THE LEAKS ALLOW REAR DIFFERENTIAL OIL TO LEAK ON THE REAR BRAKES. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 NISSAN TITAN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE FUEL INDICATOR DISPLAYED ONE QUARTER TANK OF GASOLINE; HOWEVER; THE FUEL TANK WAS EMPTY. THE VEHICLE WAS MANUALLY PUSHED TO A NEARBY SERVICE STATION WHERE HE WAS ABLE TO ADD GASOLINE AND CONTINUE DRIVING THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT CONFIRMED THAT HE PREVIOUSLY RECEIVED RECALL CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 10V074000, FUEL SYSTEM, OTHER: STORAGE: FUEL GAUGE SYSTEM; YET, HE HAD NOT HAD THE VEHICLE REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 70,000.
I HAVE A 2006 NISSAN TITAN PICKUP THAT HAS HAD THE REAR AXLE SEALS REPLACED TWO TIMES AND HAD IT IN FOR A THIRD TIME AND WAS TOLD IT WAS RESIDUAL OIL FROM THE PREVIOUS REPAIR AND NSENT ON MY AWY WEWLL IT WAS LEAKING AGAIN AND NOW HAS TO GO BACK FOR A FOURTH TIME IN ABOUT 3000 MILES. THE TRUCK HAS ONLY 28000 MILES ON IT. THIS LEAK HAS THE POTENTIAL TO GET GEAR OIL ALL OVER THE REAR DISC BRAKES CAUSING POOR BRAKING, ALSO IF THE REAR END SIEZED UP FROM LACK OF OIL IT COULD CAUSE YOU TO GO OUT OF CONTROL.
THE VEHICLE WAS BEING DRIVEN AROUND A TURN WITH NO LOAD IN THE BED. THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE LEAF SPRING SHACKLE BROKE AT THE WELD. CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE WAS ALMOST LOST. *TR
THE TRANSMISSION CANNOT BE DOWNSHIFTED. I WAS TOWING A LARGE BOAT AND LIMITED TO 10MPH SPEED AND WAS UNABLE TO DOWNSHIFT THE ENGINE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 NISSAN TITAN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR AN OIL CHANGE. THE CONTACT WAS THEN INFORMED THAT GEAR OIL FROM THE AXLE WAS LEAKING ONTO VARIOUS COMPONENTS AND COMPARTMENTS OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE RECURRED APPROXIMATELY TWO YEARS LATER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN IN FOR REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 NISSAN TITAN. THE DRIVER NOTICED THAT THERE WERE FUSES MISSING IN THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER; HOWEVER, NO REPAIRS WERE MADE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 34,100 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 35,000.

THE PART IS $273.38 AND IT IS NOT COVERED BY THE WARRANTY. THE TRUCK HAD 30,000 MILES AT THE TIME OF DIAGNOSTIC. I PAID OUT OF POCKET TO REPLACE PART. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 NISSAN TITAN. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH WHEN THE TIRE PRESSURE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE REPAIRS WERE PERFORMED AND THE LIGHT WAS NO LONGER ILLUMINATED. AFTER LEAVING THE DEALER, THE LIGHT RE-ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE TIRE PRESSURE SENSORS WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 68,000.
ON NISSAN TITAN 2006 LIGHTS WIRING HARNESS, MAY CAUSE A FIRE. *TR
WHILE PERFORMING A TIRE ROTATION, IT WAS NOTICED THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE REAR AXLE SEAL WAS LEAKING. *TR
THE ENGINE ACCELERATES ON ITS OWN AFTER LIFTING THE ACCELERATOR FOR ONE TO FIVE SECONDS. THIS OCCURS REGULARLY AND HAS CAUSED TWO VEHICLE TO OBJECT ACCIDENTS. THIS OCCURS IN TRAFFIC, SLOW SPEEDS, HIGH SPEEDS, FORWARD, REVERSE, AND IS EASILY RECREATED. DEALER TECH COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG THAT WOULD CAUSE THIS ISSUE. *TR
11/16/09 CAR (2006 TITAN - CREW CAB) DIED WHILE TURNING OUT OF A STREET OF ON-COMING TRAFFIC. COULD HAVE BEEN HIT BY A CAR BUT WASN'T. CAR EVENTUALLY STARTED AFTER A FEW STARTS. 11/17/09 CAR DID NOT START AT ALL; CAR HAD TO BE TOWED TO NISSAN SERVICE DEPARTMENT 11/17/09 NISSAN SERVICE DEPARTMENT SUSPECTED A PROBLEM WITH THE IPDM = INTELLIGENT POWER DISTRIBUTOR MODULE- THE PART THAT PROVIDES POWER FOR THE WHOLE VEHICLE TO RUN. SERVICE DEPARTMENT HAS INDICATED THAT THE PART IS HARD TO COME BY BECAUSE OF THE BACKLOG IN MANUFACTURING THE PART. AFTER DIAGNOSTICS, IT WAS THE IPDM AND WAS TOLD THAT THE PART WILL TAKE ABOUT 3 WEEKS TO ORDER. AFTER TALKING TO SERVICE REP, THEY HAVE INDICATED THAT THEY HAD SEVERAL CARS THAT WERE WAITING FOR THE PART FOR THEIR CAR. 11/25/09: PART RECEIVED AND CAR WILL BE FIXED BY END OF TODAY AND READY FOR PICK UP. COST OF PART AND LABOR SHOULD NOT BE AT CONSUMER COST BUT AT THE MANUFACTURER BECAUSE OF THE INCONVENIENCE THAT THIS HAS CAUSED. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 NISSAN TITAN. THE CONTACT INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND NOTICED THE LEAF SPRING SHACKLE COMPLETELY BROKE CAUSING THE SPRING TO GO THROUGH THE BED OF THE TRUCK. THERE WAS A RATTLING NOISE COMING FROM THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE PRIOR TO THE VEHICLE INSPECTION. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 58,000.
DURING THE LAST TWO MONTHS I HAVE TOTAL BRAKE FAILURE ON MY 2006 TITAN LE. WHEN I CHECKED WITH THE LOCAL DEALER, HE INFORM THAT THEY HAVE OTHER TRUCKS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. BEFORE LONG, THIS SITUATION IS GOING TO KILL SOMEBODY. *TR
I HAVE A NISSAN TITAN 2006 AND HAD TO REPLACE MY FUEL PUMP 2 TIMES AND NOW I HAVE REAR AXLE LEAKING AND I NOW HAVE 2 CRACKED MANIFOLDS WHICH DEALER TOLD ME IS VERY COMMON ALSO I NEED TO REPLACE THE FLOW FOR HEATING AND COOLING. I AM VERY CONCERNED WITH THE EXHAUST LEAKING WHICH COULD ONLY BE DONE BY GETTING THE TRUCK VERY HOT WHICH IF I DID I WOULD OF HAD TO DO HEAD GASKETS. WHICH ARE OK. ALSO I HAD TO REPLACE THE RADIATOR IT HAD 2 CRACKS IN WHERE IT IS BOLTED THEY GIVE AND BECAME WEAK. I DON'T ABUSE MY TRUCK I LOVE IT I HAVE NEVER GOT IT HOT I MAINTAIN IT AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE. ALOT OF THE COMPLAINTS I HAVE READ ARE THE SAME A MINE WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO GET THIS RESOLVED. CALL ME WE NEED TO BAND TOGETHER AND FIX THIS. *TR
I HAVE A 2006 NISSAN TITAN AND JUST BEFORE 60,000 MILES THE REAR END FAILED. I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY DOING ABOUT 65MPH. THE REAR STARTED TO MAKE NOISE SO I PULLED OFF THE ROAD TO TAKE A LOOK. WHEN I LOOKED UNDER THE TRUCK THERE WAS DIFFERENTIAL FLUID ALL OVER THE REAR OF THE TRUCK AND UNDER. SO I CALLED A TOW TRUCK. WHEN THE TOW TRUCK ARRIVED I PULL MY TRUCK UP TO THE FLAT BED, WHEN THE TOW TRUCK DRIVER WENT TO PULL MY NISSAN UP ON THE FLAT BED THE REAR END WAS LOCKED UP, I HAD IT IN NEUTRAL AT THE TIME. I STARTED MY TRUCK AND PUT IT IN DRIVE AND THERE WAS A LOUD NOISE, I LOOKED UNDER THE TRUCK TO NOTICE MY DRIVE SHAFT HAD FALLEN OFF AND WAS ON THE GROUND. THIS WAS VERY UPSETTING, I JUST KEPT THINKING WHAT IF I HAD THE MUSIC ON OR SOMETHING AND DIDN'T HEAR THE NOISE WHEN I DID. IF THIS HAD HAPPENED AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS I COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED. A LOCKED UP REAR END OR A DRIVE SHAFT FALLING OFF AT HIGH SPEEDS IS A VERY SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE. I HAVE DONE SOME RESEARCH ON THIS MATTER AND FOUND THAT THIS IS NOT AN ISOLATED INCIDENT. THERE ARE QUITE A BIT OF PEOPLE HAVING THIS SAME ISSUE. I LOVE MY TRUCK AND HAVE TAKEN VERY GOOD CARE OF IT, DID ALL MY REQUIRED SERVICES. WHEN THIS HAPPENED I STILL FELL UNDER THE 60,000MILE POWERTRAIN WARRANTY, I HAD ABOUT 56K AT THE TIME, AND THEY REPLACED THE ENTIRE REAR END ASSEMBLY. I WOULD ASSUME THAT NISSAN IS AWARE OF THIS ISSUE, DUE TO THE NUMBER OF COMPLAINTS THAT I HAVE FOUND, AND SHOULD DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT BEFORE SOMEONE IS KILLED. *TR
LEAKING MANIFOLD; THIS PART WAS RECALLED BY NISSAN BUT UPON COMPLETION OF FORM, I WAS INFORMED THEY CALCULATED THE MILEAGE TO BE BEYOND THEIR WARRANTY. THE LEFT SIDE MANIFOLD WAS REPLACED AT MY EXPENSE. NOW THE RIGHT MANIFOLD HAS CRACKED ALSO AND IS LEAKING EXHAUST FUMES. NISSAN IS AWARE THAT I HAVE THE LEFT SIDE MANIFOLD FOR THEIR INSPECTION AND THEIR LOCAL DEALERSHIP, WHERE I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE, CONFIRMED THE RIGHT IS ALSO CRACKED. THIS IS A DANGER AND DEFINITE HAZARD DUE TO THE EXHAUST FUMES AND POSSIBLE FIRE YET NISSAN HAS DECLINED ANY ASSISTANCE IN REIMBURSEMENT OR ASSISTANCE IN REPLACING THE RIGHT SIDE MANIFOLD DUE TO THEIR CALCULATION THAT THE MILEAGE WAS BEYOND THEIR WARRANTY COVERAGE. I COULD NOT FIND RECORDS AS TO THE MILEAGE WHEN I REPLACE THE LEFT MANIFOLD. THE MECHANIC INFORMED ME WHEN HE REPLACED THE LEFT SIDE MANIFOLD THAT HE WOULD EXPECT THAT THE RIGHT TO DO THE SAME.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 NISSAN TITAN. THE FUEL GAUGE DID NOT DISPLAY THE PROPER FUEL LEVEL IMMEDIATELY AFTER GASOLINE WAS ADDED TO THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO STATED THAT THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE CONTINUED TO OCCUR INTERMITTENTLY EVEN WHEN GASOLINE WASN'T ADDED TO THE FUEL TANK. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NHTSA RECALL CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 10V074000 BUT HAD NOT TAKEN TO THE VEHICLE IN TO BE SERVICED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 55,000.
REAR AXLE SEAL FAILED LEAKING OIL ON THE BRAKES. *TR
I HAVE A 2006 NISSAN TITAN WITH 31,000 MILES ON IT. THE REAR BRACKET THAT HOLDS THE PASSENGER SIDE LEAF SPRING SNAPPED AT THE BEND AND SENT THE ENTIRE LEAF SPRING ASSEMBLY THROUGH THE FLOOR OF MY PICKUP BED. I HAVE CONTACTED NISSAN AND WILL BE DROPPING THE TRUCK OFF TOMORROW. I HAVE SEEN NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS OF THIS ON THE INTERNET. IT SEEMS THAT THE ORIGINAL SHACKLE WASN'T STRONG ENOUGH FOR NORMAL DRIVING. HOPEFULLY THEY WILL REPLACE THE SHACKLE AND TRUCK BED. *TR
THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE SHACKLE THAT HOLDS THE SPRING TO THE FRAME CRACKED OFF AND SENT THE REAR SPRING UP THROUGH THE BED OF THE PICKUP TRUCK. *TR

AS A CONSEQUENCE THE VEHICLE WHEN DRIVEN IS UNSTABLE. INSTABILITY WHEN DRIVING INCREASES THE RISK FOR VEHICLE CRASH. HE CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURER, BUT WAS NOT PROVIDED WITH ASSISTANCE. AS OF CURRENT DATE THE FAILURE HAS NOT BEEN REMEDIED. HE STILL HAS POSSESSION OF THE TIRES. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 500.

THE IPDM RELAY IN MY TRUCK IS MESSED UP, IT BEGAN WITH HAVING A TRANSMISSION ISSUE THAT CAUSED MY TRUCK TO BASICALLY NOT BE ABLE TO GAIN ANY SPEED ON THE HIGHWAY. I TOOK THE TRUCK TO THE DEALERSHIP, THEY SAID IT WAS THE IPDM ISSUE AND THEY WOULD TRY TO FIX IT. OTHER TITAN OWNERS HAVE HAD THEIR TRUCKS SHUT COMPLETELY OFF WHILE RUNNING DOWN THE HIGHWAY BECAUSE OF THE FAILURE OF THE IPDM, NISSAN KNOWS OF THE ISSUE HAS NO PARTS TO FIX THE ISSUE, AND WILL NOT HELP US OUT. *TR

STEERING WHEEL SHAKES WHEN APPLYING BRAKES. A FEW DAYS LATER A LOUD GRINDING NOISE IN THE FRONT END. TOOK THE 2006 TITAN TO SERVICE CENTER AND WAS TOLD NEEDED TOTAL FRONT END BRAKE JOB. THE BRAKE PADS WENT THRU THE ROTORS. A FEW MONTHS LATER THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE TRUCK FOR SOMETHING ELSE. TOOK IT TO THE DEALER FOR THE RECALL AND WAS TOLD THE FRONT BRAKE SYSTEM HAD TO BE REPLACED. TWO TO THREE MONTHS AFTER I JUST HAD IT DONE. I TOLD THE SERVICE MANAGER THAT I JUST HAD IT DONE A FEW MONTHS AGO. I ASKED TO SEE THE PROBLEM AND THEY WOULD NOT LET ME IN TO LOOK AT THE PROBLEM MYSELF. THEY JUST NOTED THAT I REFUSED SERVICE. I TOOK THE TRUCK BACK TO THE SERVICE STATION THAT DID THE WORK (BECAUSE THE DEALER SAID IT WAS NOT COVERED). THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE BRAKES AT THAT TIME LIKE THE DEALER TOLD ME. NOW 8/21/2014 AT 53000 MILES THE FRONT END BRAKE SYSTEM IS GONE AGAIN. I APPLIED THE BRAKE AND THE TRUCK WOULD NOT STOP. I HAD TO GO OFF THE ROAD SO I DID NOT HIT THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME. I OWNED 6 NISSANS AND NEVER HAS THIS KIND OF PROBLEM BEFORE. I DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHY NISSAN IS WAITING UNTIL SOMEONE GETS KILLED TO FIX THIS PROBLEM. I WAS ALSO TOLD THAT THE TRUCK DOES NOT STOP BECAUSE THE ABS SYSTEM KICKS IN AND DOES NOT LET THE TRUCK STOP SUDDENLY WHEN NEEDED. AS OF RIGHT NOW I CAN NOT DRIVE THE TRUCK UNTIL I CAN AFFORD TO GET THE BRAKE SYSTEM REPAIRED AGAIN. THE TRUCK IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE. WAKE UP NISSAN. DO NOT LET SOMEONE DIE BECAUSE OF DEFECTS. *TR
I NOTICED OIL LEAKING FROM THE TRANSFER CASE. BROUGHT THE TRUCK TO SANTA MONICA NISSAN FOR INSPECTION. DEALERSHIP VERIFIED THE TRANSFER CASE, LEFT AND RIGHT REAR AXLE SEALS LEAKING. DEALERSHIP IS REPLACING PARTS TO CORRECT THE FAILURE. THIS IS AN ONGOING FAILURE FOR ALL YEAR MODEL NISSAN TITANS. *TR

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 NISSAN TITAN. WHILE THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING AT NIGHT APPROXIMATELY 20 MPH THE ENGINE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS COASTED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND TOWED TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER. THE FAILURE WAS CONTRIBUTED TO THE GAS SENDING UNIT WHICH WAS REPLACED UNDER A RECALL, NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 10V074000 (FUEL SYSTEM, OTHER: STORAGE: FUEL GAUGE SYSTEM). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 28,050. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 32,558.
THERE WAS NOT A CRASH, BUT THERE WAS A PROBLEM THAT COULD HAVE LED TO ONE. THE REAR AXLE SEALS LEAK ON ALMOST ALL NISSAN TITAN PICKUP TRUCKS. I'VE HAD MINE REPLACED 3 TIMES IN 75,000 MILES. WHEN THIS HAPPENS, OIL FROM THE AXLE COVERS THE REAR BRAKE ROTORS, AFFECTING BRAKING ABILITY. *TR

MY 2006 NISSAN TITAN HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP 4 DIFFERENT TIMES TO HAVE THE FUEL SENDING UNIT REPLACED. THE FIRST TIME THE GAUGE WAS STUCK ON QUARTER OF A TANK OF FUEL WHEN I RAN OUT AND STUCK ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD DURING A BUSINESS LUNCH. EACH TIME AFTER WAS DIFFERENT POINTS ON THE GAUGE, BUT ALWAYS THE SAME PROBLEM. EACH TIME THEY CLAIM THE PROBLEM HAS BEEN FIXED WITH THE UNIT, BUT MY TRUCK AND I DISAGREE. *TR
I THINK IT WAS IN 2009 WHEN I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO NISSAN TO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND LIGHT SMOKE OUT OF EXHAUST. RAN DIAGNOSTIC AND FOUND OUT THAT CATALYTIC CONVERTERS BROKE UP AND BROKEN MATERIAL WENT BACK (SUCKBACK) INTO ENGINE AND DAMAGED PISTON RINGS WHICH WAS CAUSING IT TO SMOKE. TOLD ME I NEEDED TO REPLACE ENGINE CAUSE IT WAS PRETTY MUCH NO GOOD. THIS TRUCK WAS 3 YRS. OLD AT THE TIME. WARRANTY WAS OUT AND WAS AND COST ME A FORTUNE TO REPLACE ENGINE AND EXHAUST SYSTEM. I HAD NO IDEA TIL NOW HOW MANY 2006 TITAN OWNERS HAVE HAD THE SAME ISSUE. THIS HAS TO BE RECALLED.
REAR AXLE SEAL FAILURE. I NOTICED A DRIVER-SIDE REAR SEAL LEAK YESTERDAY (7/29/2009). REAR SEAL IS LEAKING DIFFERENTIAL FLUID OVER REAR BRAKES CAUSING HAZARD OF A BRAKE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE IS A 2006 NISSAN TITAN KING CAB XE 2X4 WITH APPROXIMATELY 25000 MI. VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED NEW IN 2/2007 FROM DEALER. VEHICLE HAS NEVER TOWED OR BEEN OFF-ROAD. THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN DUE TO A LOW MILEAGE VEHICLE WITH NO ABUSE HAVING A MECHANICAL FAILURE THAT COULD AFFECT A SAFETY FEATURE SUCH AS THE BRAKES. *TR
