Open the full vehicle complaint log (all categories)My fuel gauge on my truck does not work properly. When my gauge shows a quarter tank full its completely empty. The reason i know it doesn't is because it died on me in the middle of an intersection and blocked traffic. The gauge still showed a quarter tank of gas. I had it towed to an auto repair shop and they ended up putting a few gallons of fuel in it and then it started. I do see that there is a recall for this exact issue ( campaign # R1010 and NHTSA # 10v-074 )and i would like to have it repaired before any serious accident happens.
A FIRE, SEEMING TO START UNDER THE DASH, SPONTANEOUSLY ERUPTED AND DESTROYED THE ENTIRE VEHICLE AND SOME VERY EXPENSIVE PROPERTY IN THE BED. THE TRUCK WAS SETTING STILL AT THE TIME. MY UNDERSTANDING IS THAT THIS IS NOT AN ISOLATED CASE. I HAVE NEVER INSTALLED ANY AFTER MARKET EQUIPMENT ON THE VEHICLE.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER AND THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE THROTTLE ACTUATOR AND ECM NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 77,250.
FLANGE CONNECTING TAILPIPE TO MUFFLER RUSTED THROUGH. REMAINING EXHAUST SYSTEM IN PRISTINE CONDITION AND WITHOUT ANY TYPE OF RUST. THIS DISCONNECT BETWEEN MUFFLER AND TAILPIPE ALLOWED HOT EXHAUST TO MELT WIRING HARNESS THAT RUNS ALONG THE ENTIRE LENGTH OF THE EXHAUST SYSTEM. THIS DAMAGE TO THE WIRING HARNESS RESULTED IN LOSS TO ABS, ECM, TRACTION CONTROL, FUEL PUMP, FUEL PUMP TEMP SENSOR, EVAP PRESSURE SENSOR, EVAP VENT CONTROL VALVE, RR ABS WHEEL SPEED SENSOR AND FUEL LEVEL SENSOR. *TR
