The contact owns a 2009 Nissan Versa. The contact stated that while driving out of a parking lot at 10 MPH, the front end of the vehicle made an abnormally loud sound, and the contact noticed a strong rubber odor. The contact inspected underneath the vehicle and became aware that a part had fractured underneath the vehicle. The contact was able to reverse into the parking space. Several independent mechanics were contacted and advised that the failure might be related to the front coil springs corrosion and associated the failure with NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V573000 (Suspension); however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The contact stated that even though the vehicle was not registered in the States listed in the recall, the vehicle had been driven in one of the States listed while the contact was in school. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000.
The contact owns a 2009 Nissan Versa. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the air bag warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed that the driver’s air bag module had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired, and the contact was referred to a dealer and to the NHTSA Hotline for further assistance. The dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 146,000.

The contact owns a 2009 Nissan Versa. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the driver's and passenger's side air bag warning lights illuminated on the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed a failure with the driver's side air bag. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure reoccurred. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 22E066000 (Air Bags), but the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was 299,000.
The contact owns a 2009 Nissan Versa. The contact stated that the alarm erroneously activated. The contact clicked on the key fob to disarm the alarm however, the alarm failed to turn off. The contact walked outside to the vehicle and noticed that the rear driver’s side window had shattered without impact. The dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 96,632.
Indicator light appeared week of March 19, 2023. Took vehicle to the dealership March 24, 2023, and after a $225 diagnostic was told, “90626 FOUND DTC B1054. CUSTOMER NEEDS AIRBAG AND THE MODULE” (from invoice). Parts need to be ordered and will cost ~$1,000 less the diagnostic. Concerned about how a safety feature no longer functioning properly and needing replacement is the responsibility of the customer for an amount of this size.
Transmission failure as not changing gears, not starting driving when accelerator push down, shaking.
Airbags failed to deploy in an accident at 55 mph.
There is a safety recall campaign for the front coil springs breaking for all Nissan Versas registered in "salt states" The car is registered in a "salt state" and the the front coil has snapped. For a reason that neither corporate Nissan nor the local Nissan service center can explain, this car is excluded from repair.
Unknown transmission make a real bad noise and now not move only in reverse
Jatco Cvt transmission failed at 70,200 miles. Bearings burned out, engine roaring, then sudden deceleration and acceleration.
Airbag inflator recall was repaired but the airbag light on the dash did not go off or clear, further diagnostic tool showed airbag sensor was flashing and broken clock spring was listed on diagnostic sheet. Nissan dealership did not repair the airbag sensor or change or fix clock spring therefore still being a safety hazard during deployment, which can lead to metal fragments breaking and bursting thru causing possible threat by shooting metal fragments to car occupants. Nissan airbag recalled the inflator for the specific reason of repairing it completely free of possible injury from metal fragments breaking during deployment and Nissan did not repair it. The recall states dealership is not to release vehicle until successful inspection. It is not repaired and still poses the same threat the recall states. It's now reported as fixed to manufacture, stating zero recalls. The 97.7 million dollar lawsuit Amended requirements Sept 2017 for dealership to repair to full inspection regulations. Dealership should fix the clock spring free because it directly impacts deployment of airbag and inflators. It's been a little over 30 days since recall repair, how can I get help making Nissan dealership responsible to replace clock spring?
Throttle is impaired; P2138 very dangerous when accelerating across traffic and suddenly there is only partial throttle command. This now has happened twice.
MY SPRING BROKE WHILE PULLING INTO A TIRE SHOP AND WENT FLYING ACROSS A PARKING LOT, LEAVING PART OF THE BROKEN SPRING STUCK IN THE CRADLE.
REPLACING THE EXHAUST THE REAR SPRINGS WERE BROKEN TO THE POINT THE INSULATORS FELL OUT . THE SPRINGS ON BOTH THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE WERE BREAKING. THERE WASN'T ANY SIGNIFICANT RUST ON THE SPRINGS THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE FRONT WHICH WAS DONE. THE INSULATORS MISSING MAKES A METAL TO METAL CONTACT WHICH WOULD MAKE IT WEAR OUT FASTER AND MORE PRONE TO RUST. WHY ARE THE SPRINGS BREAKING?
BEFORE WE CAN GET THE CAR FIXED WHILE THE AIRBAG RECALL WAS IN EFFECT, WHILE DRIVING THE CAR CAUGHT ON FIRE.
FRONT COIL SPRING BROKE WHILE DRIVING
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 NISSAN VERSA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HER GRANDDAUGHTER PLACED HER BACK PACK ON THE PASSENGER'S SIDE SEAT. UPON CLOSING THE PASSENGER'S SIDE DOOR, THE PASSENGER'S SIDE AIR BAG DEPLOYED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT'S GRANDDAUGHTER DROVE THE VEHICLE TO THE CONTACT'S HOME. UPON INSPECTION OF THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT OBSERVED THAT THE ENTIRE PASSENGER SEAT WAS SPLIT OPEN. ALSO, THE FRAME ON THE PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW WAS COMPLETELY DETACHED DUE TO THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT SPOKE WITH THE MANUFACTURER AND WAS PROVIDED A CLAIM NUMBER AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE MATTER WOULD BE INVESTIGATED BY THE CLAIMS DEPARTMENT. THE CONTACT THEN RECEIVED A PHONE CALL FROM THE MANUFACTURER WHO INFORMED HER THAT THEY WOULD CONTACT AN INSPECTOR TO INVESTIGATE THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS INSTRUCTED TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO NISSAN OF RICHMOND (11401 W BROAD ST, HENRICO, VA 23233) ONCE AN INSPECTOR WAS FOUND. LATER, AN INSPECTOR CONTACTED HER AND SHE DROVE THE VEHICLE TO THE DESIGNATED DEALER. AFTER THE INSPECTION, THE INSPECTOR INFORMED HER THAT THE FINDINGS WOULD BE SUBMITTED TO THE CLAIMS DEPARTMENT. THE CONTACT HAD YET TO HEAR FROM ANYONE AT NISSAN IN REGARDS TO THE INVESTIGATION. THE VEHICLE HAD YET TO BE REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 108,000.*DT*JB
I WAS INVOLVED IN A AUTO ACCIDENT , AIR BAGS DIDN'T DEPLOY AND SEAT POPPED OFF & STARTED SMOKING .
WHILE DRIVING IN TOWN MY 2009 NISSAN VERSA HATCHBACK LOST POWER, COULDN'T ACCELERATE AND PANEL IDIOT LIGHTS CAME ON. I WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER SAFELY. I TRIED RESTARTING IT BUT NOTHING. ABOUT 15 MINUTES LATER, I TRIED AGAIN AND SEVERAL TIMES IT ALMOST STARTED BUT DIED OUT. HAD TO GET CAR TOWED. WHEN TOW TRUCK DRIVER GOT IN VEHICLE IT STARTED FOR HIM AND KEPT RUNNING SO HE DROVE IT ONTO THE TOW TRUCK AND TOOK IT TO THE GARAGE. THE TECHNICIAN SCAN TESTE ON BOARD COMPUTER, ALL SENSORS AND SENSOR STRING, UP TO 1/2 HOUR DIAGNOSTIC TIME CHECK PERFORMANCE OF SENSORS, CHECK FUEL DELIVERY SYSTEM. PRESSURE TEST STEADY 50 PSI, ROAD TESTED 14 MILES TO VERIFY OR ADDITIONAL NEEDED REPAIRS. CODES SET. NO CODES. COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING. CAR RUNNING FINE. ADDITIONAL NOTES: VEHICLE HAS APPROX. 70,000 MI. ALWAYS KEEP HALF TO FULL TANK OF GAS AND SERVICED. THIS IS NOT GOOD! FEAR THAT THE CAR CAN JUST QUIT AT ANY TIME AND CAN POSSIBLY BE IN AN ACCIDENT.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE HER DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING AT 65 MPH WENT AIR BORNE AND STRUCK AN EMBANKMENT WALL ON THE PASSENGER SIDE THE DRIVERS SIDE AND THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DRIVER'S FRONT OR SIDE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY HOWEVER, THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. THE CONTACT'S DAUGHTER SUFFERED A CONCUSSION AND WAS TRANSPORTED BY AMBULANCE TO THE HOSPITAL. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED WITH CASE NUMBER: [XXX]. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A TOW LOT AND DEEMED A TOTAL LOSS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. FOR MANY YEARS*, THE EXHAUST FROM MY NISSAN VERSA HAS MADE ME SICK (NAUSEOUS AND HEADACHES) SIMILAR TO HOW VW EXHAUST WOULD MAKE ME SICK. I AM CONCERNED THAT NISSAN VEHICLES MAY BE CHEATING ON INSPECTIONS CHECKS LIKE VW WAS DOING. EXHAUST FROM MANY OTHER VEHICLES MAY SMELL, BUT THIS PARTICULAR EXHAUST IS SICKENING. OUR VEHICLE PASSES EMISSION STANDARDS FOR MD EACH YEAR AND WE ALWAYS KEEP IT WELL MAINTAINED. SO AGAIN, I AM CONCERNED THEY HAVE SOFTWARE THAT WORKS TO FOOL EMISSIONS TESTING BY CHANGING THE EXHAUST ALLOWED WHEN HOOKED UP TO AN EMISSIONS TESTING COMPUTER. FOR A POINT OF REFERENCE, MY PARENTS OWN A 23 YEAR OLD FORD EXPLORER (ALSO WELL MAINTAINED) WHOSE EXHAUST DOES NOT CAUSE ME SICKNESS. DRIVER SIDE REAR COIL SPRING BROKE
THE COIL SPRINGS THAT NISSAN INSTALLED IN MY CAR DUE TO THE 2015 RECALL HAVE, NOW, BOTH BROKEN AGAIN. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE. NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS REFUSES TO HELP ME WITH THE COST OF REPLACING THESE FAULTY PARTS BECAUSE THEY ARE 'OUT OF WARRANTY!' I HAVE BEEN DEALING WITH THIS ISSUE SINCE 2012 WHEN THE FIRST COIL SPRING BROKE, PUNCTURED MY TIRE, AND ALMOST CAUSED A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. THE CAR WAS IN MOTION WHEN THE MOST RECENT BREAK HAPPENED, I WAS TURNING OUT OF MY ALLEY WAY ONTO THE ROAD.

THE HATCH ON MY NISSAN VERSA IS STUCK AND WON'T OPEN. IT WON'T UNLOCK AND THERE IS NO KEY ACCESS AND NO BUTTON OR LEVER INSIDE THE CAR TO OPEN IT.

THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED UNDER AN UNKNOWN AIR BAG RECALL HOWEVER, AFTER THE REPAIR WAS PERFORMED THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS PROVIDED A SECOND REPAIR UNDER THE UNKNOWN RECALL HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. BUSAM NISSAN OF CINCINNATI LOCATED AT (1501 E. KEMPER RD, CINCINNATI, OH 45246), 513-854-1788), WAS CONTACTED AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT ENTITLED TO ANOTHER FREE REPAIR DUE TO THE MILEAGE ON THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 93,000.

WHILE DRIVING IN THE FREEWAY AND ON THE STREET SEVERAL OCCASIONS, MY CAR WAS FEELING AS IF IT WAS GOING TO DIE ON ME WITH LOW POWER. I FELT REALLY UNSAFE. ONE DAY, I WAS DRIVING, THE CAR WAS TOO WEAK, I DECIDED TO DRIVE IT DIRECTLY TO NISSAN DEALERSHIP IN CERRITOS BECAUSE I KNEW THAT WAS IT, I WAS GOING TO DEFINETLY BE STRANDED. I WAS THERE FOR ABOUT 5 HOURS AND FINALLY I WAS TOLD THAT THE COIL NEEDED REPLACEMENT. LESS THAN A YEAR, I WAS TOLD THE COIL NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AGAIN. I RECENTLY SAW ON KELLY BLUE BOOK WEBSITE THAT THE COIL IS A RECALL. I NOTIFIED THE DEALER AND I AM TOLD THAT IT IS NOT A RECALL.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2009 NISSAN VERSA. WHILE DRIVING 50 MPH OVER ICE, THE VEHICLE SLID AND CRASHED INTO A WALL. ONLY THE DRIVER'S AIR BAG DEPLOYED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED EYE, HEAD, AND RIB INJURIES THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A TOW YARD AND DEEMED DESTROYED BY THE INSURANCE COMPANY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 85,000.
COIL SPRINGS CORROSION AND BINDING
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 NISSAN VERSA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR AN OIL CHANGE. THE MECHANIC INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE REAR LOWER CONTROL ARMS WERE FRACTURED DUE TO CORROSION AND NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE FRONT LOWER CONTROL ARMS WERE REPLACED BY AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC ON SEPTEMBER 29, 2015, WHICH BECAME A RECALL IN 2015. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND ISSUED CASE NUMBER: 32820454. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED FOR THE RECENT FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 93,000.
REAR COIL SPRINGS BROKE FOR SIMILAR REASONS THAT THE FRONT COIL SPRINGS BREAK. (FRONT COIL SPRINGS ARE CURRENTLY UNDER RECALL). REAR COIL SPRINGS BROKE CAUSING A FLAT TIRE. REAR COIL SPRINGS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED TO SAFELY DRIVE THE VEHICLE; AND THE FLAT TIRE NEEDED REPLACED. REAR COIL SPRINGS WERE NOT PROPERLY MANUFACTURED AND COATED. THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION, ON A TOWNSHIP ROAD.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 NISSAN VERSA. WHILE TURNING THE VEHICLE OUT OF A PARKING SPOT, THE CONTACT DETECTED A NOISE COMING FROM THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS SERVICED PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V573000 (SUSPENSION), BUT THE REMEDY FAILED TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE COIL SPRING FRACTURED AFTER THE RECALL REPAIR. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO WALSER NISSAN BURNSVILLE (14750 BUCK HILL RD, BURNSVILLE, MN 55306, (612) 395-4984) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE COIL SPRING NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 81,000.
WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS ACCELERATING OUT FROM A STOP SIGN, IT SUDDENLY WITHOUT WARNING OR NOISE LOST ALL ABILITY TO ACCELERATE AND STALLED IN THE INTERSECTION. NO LIGHTS CAME ON AT THAT POINT. RESTARTED CAR, DROVE HOME. I COULD FEEL ACCELERATION HESITATION IN THE GAS PEDAL. NEXT MORNING I STARTED CAR, NOW HAS ENGINE LIGHT ON. I DROVE TO WORK, IT REPEATED THE BEHAVIOR ONCE. THE NEXT DAY I TOOK THE CAR TO GET THE COMPUTER CODE P2138. THE CAR STALLS EVERYDAY THE FIRST TIME IT IS DRIVEN AND I CAN FEEL THE HESITATION EVERYTIME. AFTER THE INITAL STALL, IT DRIVES FINE THE REST OF THE DAY. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT REMAINS ON. I DID UNPLUG THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL SENSOR TO AIR BLOW OFF ANY DUST. IT CONTINUES TO BEHAVE THE SAME WHETHER COMING OUT OF A STOP POSITION OR DRIVING ON THE ROAD OR HIGHWAY AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT REMAINS. WILL BE TAKING IT TO NISSAN DEALER TO HAVE RECALLS CHECKED AND WILL ASK ABOUT THIS ISSUE AS WELL. I WENT ON THIS SITE AND SAW THAT OTHER NISSANS HAVE HAD THIS ISSUE OVER THE YEARS.
EXCESSIVE CORROSION OF STEEL BRAKE LINES ON REAR BEAM AXLE CAUSED LOSS OF BRAKE FLUID AND SUBSEQUENT LOSS OF BRAKES

MOTOR MOUNT BUSHING CRACKED, DETERIORATED. BROUGHT TO MY ATTENTION DURING LAST MAINTENANCE DONE. ADVISED TO REPLACE TO AVOID FUTURE DAMAGE TO DRIVE TRAIN.
"TAKATA RECALL" TOOK IN FOR SERVICE/REPAIR AND NOW WARNING LIGHT IS ON. HAVE RECEIVED SEVERAL NOTICES TO BRING CAR INTO A DEALER TO HAVE THE RECALL FIXED REGARDING THE TAKATA AIRBAGS. I HAVE HAD NO WARNING LIGHTS OR ANY ISSUES UP UNTIL BRINGING THE CAR IN FOR REPAIR FOR THE RECALL ON THE TAKATA AIRBAGS. UPON TAKING CAR TO STEVENS CREEK NISSAN WORKORDER 170159 JULY 11, 2018, MY CAR WAS RETURNED TO ME AFTER WHAT WAS NOTED ON THE WORK ORDER AS REMOVE AND REPLACE AIR BAG INFLATOR, CAMPAIGN PM685 VERSA HATCHBACK. MY CAR IS A 4 DOOR SEDAN, NOT A HATCHBACK. UPON DRIVING OFF WITH MY CAR THE WARNING LIGHT "AIRBAG" IS NO FLASHING AND WILL NOT GO OFF. THIS INDICATES SOMETHING WAS NOT DONE CORRECTLY AND NOW NISSAN REFUSES TO CORRECT THEIR ERROR UNLESS I PAY OUT OF POCKET FOR A DIEANOSTIC PLUS REPAIR FEES AND LABOR. I HAVE NEVER HAD ANY ISSUES WHATSOEVER WITH MY CAR UNTIL TAKING IT INTO STEVENS CREEK NISSAN TO HAVE A RECALL FOR THE TAKATA AIRBAGS ADDRESSED. BEFORE I SEEK ANY LEGAL ACTION I WANTED TO REACH OUT TO YOU FOR SOME ASSISTANCE. HOW SAFE AM I DRIVING MY CAR WITH THIS WARNING LIGHT "AIRBAG" ? THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS SERVICED PER AN UNKNOWN RECALL CAMPAIGN AT BAYTOWN NISSAN (5445 I-10 EAST, BAYTOWN, TX 77521, (281) 394-1995). THE CONTACT WAS CONCERNED FOR HIS SAFETY AND TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIR DUE TO THE DIAGNOSTIC AND REPAIR FEES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE RECALL INFORMATION WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 42,757.
BETWEEN NOTICE FOR THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG RECALL AND THEN THE RECALL FOR THE DRIVER'S SIDE AIR BAG, THIS PROCESS HAS BEEN UNREASONABLY LONG AND REQUIRED FAR TOO MUCH EFFORT ON MY PART TO RESOLVE. AT EVERY STEP THIS HAS REQUIRED FAR TOO MUCH OF MY PERSONAL ATTENTION AND TIME. THE ONLY WAY I'VE BEEN ABLE TO MAKE THIS RECALL PROCESS WORK FOR ME IS BY SETTING UP A GOOGLE ALERT ABOUT NISSAN RECALLS TO REMIND ME TO CALL THEM PERIODICALLY. OTHERWISE THEY WOULD NEVER INFORM ME ABOUT ANY DEVELOPMENTS WITH THIS RECALL. WHEN I FINALLY CALLED THEM AGAIN THEY REQUIRED FAR TOO MUCH INFORMATION FROM ME JUST TO GIVE ME INFORMATION ABOUT THE RECALL. IT'S LIKE THEY JUST WANT TO PUT SO MANY ROADBLOCKS ON THIS PROCESS TO MAKE SURE THAT MOST PEOPLE JUST GIVE UP AND DRIVE UNSAFE CARS INSTEAD OF GETTING THEM FIXED. AND THAT'S AT EACH STEP. I GIVE ALL THIS INFORMATION WHEN I TALK TO ONE PERSON THEN I TALK TO SOMEONE ELSE AND HAVE TO GIVE THEM THE SAME INFORMATION AND THEN THE NEXT AND SO ON. I CAN'T BELIEVE HOW MUCH TIME THIS PROCESS WASTES. AND FINALLY THE DEALERSHIP IS READY TO REPLACE THE DRIVER SIDE AIR BAG. I SHOULD BE GRATEFUL AND HAPPY THAT THE PROCESS IS FINALLY OVER BUT THEY TELL ME THAT THEY'VE HAD THE PARTS SINCE FEBRUARY AND ASK WHAT MY PROBLEM IS GETTING THIS FIXED. FEBRUARY. THEY DIDN'T SEND ME ANY NOTICE ABOUT THIS AND THE RECALL HASN'T BEEN UPDATED TO SHOW THAT PARTS ARE AVAILABLE, AND IT'S MY FAULT SOMEHOW? NISSAN HAS TO BE HELD TO ACCOUNT FOR THIS INEFFICIENT AND WASTEFUL PROCESS. I DON'T IMAGINE MOST PEOPLE WOULD STICK THROUGH THIS PROCESS THE WAY I HAVE AND THAT MOST PEOPLE WOULD END UP SIMPLY NOT GETTING THEIR CAR'S FIXED. THERE WILL ONLY BE MORE AND MORE CASUALTIES IF NISSAN ISN'T FORCED TO MAKE THEIR RECALL PROCESS REASONABLE AND SANE.
