TAKATA AIRBAG? I DON'T KNOW BECAUSE NOTHING HAS HAPPENED TO DATE BUT I HAVE A FLASHING AIRBAG LIGHT I CAN'T AFFORD TO FIX. TAKATA RECALL--I RECEIVED AN "INTERIM" NOTICE MAYBE AN ENTIRE YEAR AGO REGARDING A RECALL OF MY VEHICLE DUE TO AN ISSUE WITH THE PASSENGER AIR BAG. I WAS TOLD IN THIS NOTICE THAT I SHOULD NOT ALLOW ANYONE TO RIDE IN THE PASSENGER'S SEAT OF MY CAR DUE TO A PROBLEM WITH THE AIR BAG THAT MAY CAUSE ITS INFLATOR TO "RUPTURE OR DEPLOY ABNORMALLY, RESULTING IN METAL FRAGMENTS STRIKING THE VEHICLE OCCUPANTS CAUSING SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH." I WAS TOLD TO WAIT FOR AN INVITATION TO REPAIR LETTER, BUT IT HAS BEEN A VERY LONG TIME AND I'VE HEARD NOTHING FURTHER FROM THE DEALER ABOUT THIS PROBLEM OR THIS INTERIM NOTICE. I HAVE TO BE ABLE TO DRIVE MY CAR. ASKING ME NOT TO ALLOW PASSENGERS TO RIDE IN THE PASSENGER SEAT FOR AN ENTIRE YEAR WHILE WAITING ON PARTS IS NOT FEASIBLE. IF THIS ISSUE IS AS SERIOUS AS WAS ADVISED IN THE LETTER, I THINK SOMETHING ELSE SHOULD HAVE BEEN DONE IN THE INTERIM. EVEN JUST COMMUNICATING THE REASON FOR THE DELAYS FROM THE MANUFACTURER WOULD BE SOMETHING. OR EXPLAINING WHY TURNING OFF THE PASSENGER AIRBAG IS OR IS NOT A GOOD TRADE-OFF FOR KEEPING IT ON, AND RISKING THAT THE AIRBAG WILL DEPLOY IMPROPERLY AND MAIM OCCUPANTS OF MY CAR. THIS ISSUE SOUNDS SCARY AND I HAVEN'T BEEN PROVIDED WITH MUCH PERTINENT INFORMATION FROM THE DEALER ABOUT IT, LET ALONE ANY POTENTIAL OPTIONS ASIDE FROM WAITING AND DREADING MY PASSENGER AIRBAG DEPLOYING.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS RELATED TO THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT FOUND NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V573000 (SUSPENSION) THAT WAS DIRECTLY RELATED TO THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS INVALID. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 62,000.

A RECALL WAS DONE ON THE FRONT SPRING COILS. I TOOK MY CAR IN TO HAVE RECALL COMPLETED ONLY TO FIND OUT MY BACK SPRING COILS ARE ALSO DAMAGED. I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY THE FRONT CAN BE RECALLED AND THE BACK COILS ARE ALSO DEFECTED THE REASONING WHY THEY ARE NOT UNDER A RECALL.

TAKATA RECALL MY VEHICLE HAS HAD A RECALL SINCE MAY 2016 AND IT IS FEB 2017. I AM TOLD NOT TO DRIVE WITH ANY PASSENGER, YET THE PARTS ARE STILL NOT AVAILABLE TO REPLACE THE DEFECTIVE AIRBAG. EVERYTIME I ASK MY DEALER ABOUT IT, THEY SAY IT SHOULD BE "NEXT MONTH." PLEASE ADVISE HOW TO GET THIS REPLACED ASAP. THANK YOU.
EVERY TIME I FILLED UP MY GAS TANK, THE CABIN FILLED UP WITH FUMES. I WENT TO MY MECHANIC AND FOUND THE FUEL MODULATOR WAS LEAKING AND HAD TO BE REPLACED. THE PLUG WAS BURNT. THEY REPLACED AND REPAIRED THE ITEMS. MY MECHANIC TOLD ME THAT THIS REPLACEMENT MIGHT FALL UNDER A RECALL. BEFORE MY CAR WAS FIXED, I WAS GETTING HEADACHES FROM THE FUMES.
LOUD CLUNKING/POPPING NOISE COMING FROM FRONT OF CAR WHILE DRIVING.
CONTINUES KNOCKING NOISE COMES OUT OF THE STEERING WHEEL WHEN DRIVEN AT 40-50 MILES ALSO ON THE UNEVEN ROUGH ROADS. ALSO THE STERING WHEEL SHAKES WHEN APPLYING THE BREAKES.
NISSAN CURRENTLY HAS A CAMPAIGN OPEN TO REPLACE FRONT COIL SPRINGS IN NORTHERN STATES. MY REAR COIL SPRING IS ALSO CRACKED/BROKEN AND NISSAN IS REFUSING TO REPLACE IT.
MY NISSAN VERSA WAS RECALLED LAST YEAR FOR FAULTY COIL SPRINGS. THE LETTER SAID THAT PARTS WILL BE READY IN JANUARY 2016. I MADE AN APPOINTMENT WITH MY DEALER TO HAVE THE PARTS ORDERED AND REPLACED. IT IS ALMOST APRIL 2016 AND THE PARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE. I CALL MY DEALER ONCE A MONTH, THEY HAVE NOW CHOSEN TO SCREEN THEIR PHONE CALLS AND WILL NOT ANSWER ANY SERVICE CALLS ABOUT THE RECALL. I THINK THAT NISSAN IS NOT PREPARED TO HANDLE THIS RECALL ON THE VERSA.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE SPIRAL CABLE AND THE AIR BAG MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 35,000.
ON THURSDAY MORNING, MARCH 3, 2016, MY TRANSMISSION STOPPED WORKING AS I WAS DRIVING UP A HILL. I WAS NOT ABLE TO DRIVE FORWARD. ONLY REVERSE. SO I HAD TO REVERSE MY CAR OFF THE STREET AGAINST ONCOMING AND PARK ON THE SIDE.
TRANSMISSION FAILED RESULTING IN CAR LOSING POWER AND MAKING NOISES WHEN ACCELERATING. NISSAN IS NOT HONORING THE EXTENDED WARRANTY FOR WHICH MY CAR IS ELIGIBLE AND WON'T RESPOND TO MY MANY CALLS AT ALL. IT HAS BEEN 7 WEEKS. THEY ARE STONEWALLING ME. THEY WON'T EVEN TELL ME THE NAME OR EXTENSION OF THE "SPECIALIST" HANDLING MY CASE.
DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY CAR TENDS TO LOSE POWER AND SPUTTER AND IN SOME CASES IT WILL STALL. WHEN TRYING TO RESTART IT, IT WILL NOT START. THIS CAN BE VERY DANGEROUS. ALSO, IF DRIVING THIS VEHICLE AND THEN SHUTTING THE ENGINE OFF YOU CAN NOT RESTART IT WITHOUT WAITING AT LEAST 30 MINUTES. MY 16 YEAR OLD HAS BEEN DRIVING THIS CAR AND THE FIRST INSTANCE IT HAPPENED WAS WHILE SHE WAS DRIVING IT. SHE LOST ALL POWER AND WAS NOT EVEN ABLE TO USE HER BRAKES. SHE CAME VERY CLOSE TO HITTING A WALL BUT WAS ABLE TO STEER IT AWAY BUT STEERING WAS VERY DIFFICULT AS WELL. WE REPLACED THE FUEL PUMP THINKING IT WASN'T GETTING ENOUGH GAS BUT THIS STILL HASN'T FIXED THE ISSUE. WE ARE TOLD BY MECHANICS THAT THE PROBLEM CAN'T BE DUPLICATED THEREFORE IT CAN'T BE FIXED. I BOUGHT THIS CAR USED AND I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT NISSAN HAS NOT RECALLED THIS CAR DUE TO MANY COMPLAINTS WITH THIS ISSUE. I GUESS SOMEONE HAS TO LOSE THEIR LIFE BEFORE THEY WILL FIX IT. THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE VERSA AND NISSAN TAKES NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR IT. PLEASE LOOK INTO IT AND FIX IT BEFORE SOMEONE DIES.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT ASSIST. ADDITIONALLY, THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBERS: 17V449000 (AIR BAGS) AND 17V028000 (AIR BAGS). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 26,000. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.

MY NISSAN VERSA WAS RECALLED FOR FRONT SPRINGS TO BE REPLACED. I HAD ALREADY HAD THE SPRINGS REPLACED BECAUSE THEY BROKE. I WAS INFORMED THAT I HAD TO HAVE THE SPRINGS REPLACED AGAIN TO SATISFY THE RECALL. THE STRUTS WERE RUSTED OUT, BUT WERE NOT PART OF THE RECALL. I HAD TO PAY TO HAVE THE STRUTS REPLACED WHEN THE DEALERSHIP BROKE THEM REMOVING THEM TO REPLACE THE SPRINGS. THE STRUTS AND SPRINGS ARE ONE UNIT AND SHOULD HAVE BEEN PART OF THE RECALL. THE SPRINGS DID NOT NEED REPLACED. I WAS CHARGED OVER $250 FOR A RECALL REPAIR THAT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE COVERED BY NISSAN.
THE DRIVERS SIDE FRONT SUSPENSION COIL SPRING FRACTURE IN MY MODEL YEAR 2009 NISSAN VERSA RUSTED/CORRODED AND BROKE WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT APPROXIMATELY 70MPH. THE NOISE WAS APPARENT AND THE CAR IMMEDIATELY BEGAN PULLING SLIGHTLY TO THE LEFT. I PULLED OVER TO EXAMINE THE VEHICLE AND COULD NOT FIND ANY SPECIFIC REASON FOR THE NOISE AND CONTINUED HOME. I TOOK THE CAR INTO MCCARTHY NISSAN AND WAS TOLD THAT THE FRONT COIL SPRING HAD RUSTED/CORRODED AND CRACKED AND THAT DRIVING THE CAR IN THAT CONDITION WAS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND REQUIRED IMMEDIATE REPLACEMENT OF THE FRONT COILS.
SOMEONE TOLD ME THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ON MY CAR FOR THE SUSPENSION
ON 10/15/2015 WENT TO NISSAN DEALER FOR ROUTINE OIL CHANGE(MILEAGE 50938)DURING INSPECTION MECHANIC FOUND BOTH LOWER CONTROL ARMS O SUSPENSION BAD AND WAS REPLACED AT THE COST OF $895.24 ALSO 4 WHEEL ALIGNMENT WAS WAS DONE AT THE COST OF $109.95.WHEN BACK HOME I LOOK FOR RECALLS ON SUSPENSION SYSTEM ON NISSAN VERSA AND FIND OUT THAT THERE IS RECALL ON COIL SPRINGS EFFECTIVE AS OF 09/14/2015.AT THE TIME OF SERVICE I WAS NOT INFORMED BY THE DEALER ABOUT THIS RECALL AND WHEN I CONTACTED THEM AND ASK WHEN COILS WILL BE REPLACED I WAS TOLD THAT THEY DON'T HAVE PARTS AND I HAVE TO WAIT TILL NOV/DEC 2015 FOR THE COILS TO BE REPLACED.DO SOME RESEARCH RE:LOWER CONTROL ARMS FAILURE ON NISSAN VERSA AND FIND THAT IT MAY BE RELATED TO COILS FAILURE AS IT IS PART OF THE SUSPENSION SYSTEM INTERCONNECTED TO SPRING COILS.CORROSION OF COILS CAN CAUSE THE TENSION ON THE SPRINGS TO FAIL AND CAUSE THE OTHER PARTS OF THE SUSPENSION TO GO BAD LIKE IN MY CASE.I MY BE LUCKY THAT COILS ON MY CAR NOT BROKE OFF YET BUT FOR SURE THEY ALL READY COST ME A LOT OF MONEY AND MAY COST ME MORE BECAUSE THE PROBLEM IS NOT FIX YET.GET IN TOUCH WITH NISSAN BUT WAS TOLD THAT EVEN THE ARMS ARE THE PART OF SUSPENSION SYSTEM INTERCONNECTED TO COILS-THE COILS ARE NOT CAUSE OF ARMS FAILURE.I DO NOT AGREE WITH NISSAN OPINION ON THIS AND I TOLD THEM THAT I WILL FILE COMPLAINT TO NHTSA. BECAUSE OF NISSAN REFUSAL TO ACCEPT THEY FAULT AND SOLVE THE ISSUE I DO NOT HAVE OTHER OPTION LEFT BUT FILE COMPLAINT AND MAKE OTHER NISSAN VERSA OWNERS AWARE ABOUT THE PROBLEM THEY MAY HAVE WITH THEIR CARS AS I DID.

FRONT DRIVERS SIDE SPRING BROKE WHILE CAR WAS PARKED IN DRIVEWAY. FOUND LOWER PART OF THE COIL SPRING ON THE GROUND.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 24,612.

THE DEALER (JEFFREY NISSAN, 30800 GRATIOT AVE, ROSEVILLE, MI 48066, (586) 510-1378) REFUSED TO SERVICE THE VEHICLE PER THE RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND OPENED THREE CASES; HOWEVER, THERE WAS NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE OFFERED IN REGARDS TO THE NHTSA RECALL REPAIRS. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 53,000. *JS
THE TRUNK OF THE NISSAN VERSA HATCHBATCH IS KEYLESS AND WILL NOT OPEN UPON UNLOCKING THE CAR DOORS.
PULLING OUT OF PARKING LOT AFTER WORK AND HEARD A LOUD CLUNK FROM FRONT OF CAR. RIGHT SIDE OF CARE WAS SITTING LOWER THEN LEFT SIDE, MECHANIC SAID SPRING BROKE. SAME THING HAPPENED 2 WEEKS AGO TO OTHER SIDE OF CAR AND HAD THAT FRONT SPRING AND STRUT REPLACED AND CAR ALIGNED. IF THIS IS HAPPENING FREQUENTLY, WHY NO RECALL. WILL HAVE THE REAR COIL SPRINGS CHECKED WHEN I GET THE CAR INSPECTED BUT AFTER THESE 2 REPAIR BILLS AND OF COURSE MY WARRANTLY HAD RUN OUT AND I DID NOT EXTEND. WHO WOULD THINK THAT A CARE I BOUGHT NEW, WELL MAINTAINED AND WITH ONLY 22000 MILES WOULD HAVE THIS HAPPEN.
AS I WAS DRIVING, SUDDENLY MY TIRE BLEW. THERE WAS A LOAD NOISE. I HAD TO PULL OVER RIGHT AWAY. WHEN WE TOOK THE TIRE OFF THERE WAS A GASH SURROUNDING THE ENTIRE TIRE. WHEN I WENT TO GET NEW TIRES, I WAS TOLD THAT THE SPRING WAS BROKEN AND THAT IT WAS THE CAUSE OF MY TIRE BLOWING. THEY SAID IT WAS VERY UNUSUAL FOR A SPRING AND STRUT TO HAVE TO BE REPLACED WITH MY CAR BEING NOT THAT OLD WITH NOT THAT MANY MILES ON IT.
