WHEN ACCELERATOR PEDAL DOES NOT ALWAYS GET CAR MOVING. THERE IS HESITATION. AT A STOP, PUT PRESSURE ON ACCELERATOR PEDAL, CAR DOESN'T MOVE, BUT THEN WILL ENGAGE AFTER A SOME SECONDS, AND JUMP FORWARD. I'VE BEEN AT A STOP EITHER STOP SIGN OR RED LIGHT AND IF ON A HILL, WILL ROLL BACKWARDS BECAUSE I CANNOT GET ANY ACCELERATION IN CAR. WHEN DRIVING ON HIGHWAY, WILL SOMETIMES STALL OUT, BUT WILL THEN PICK UP ACCELERATION.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 NISSAN VERSA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 10 MPH, THERE WAS A LOUD BANG AND THE VEHICLE STARTED SHAKING VIOLENTLY. THE CONTACT PULLED OVER AND DISCOVERED THAT THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE TIRE WAS BLOWN OUT. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FRONT CONTROL ARM FRACTURED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 51,000.
WHILE DRIVING IN I 55 ON THE RIGHT LANE THE STIRRING WHEEL GOT LOCKED UP AND THE VEHICLE WENT TO THE RIGHT INTO A DITCH IN THE SHOP AFTER THE ACCIDENT ,IT WAS HARD TO REMOVE THE IGNITION SWITCH ! DEFINITIVELY NO ALCOHOL NOR SLEEP;
THE SPRING IN THE DRIVER'S SIDE BROKE AS I WAS BACKING THE CAR OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY. I HEARD A LOUD NOISE AND THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE OF MY 2010 NISSAN VERSA DROPPED. WHEN I LOOKED AT THE WHEEL WELL, I COULD SEE THE BROKEN SPRING. I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP FOR SERVICE. THE PASSENGER SIDE SPRING WAS ALSO DAMAGED: LARGE CHUNKS OF THE SPRING HAD BROKEN OFF, BUT THE SPRING HAD NOT BROKEN THROUGH YET. I ONLY HAVE 25,835 MILES ON THE CAR. I FOLLOW THE REGULAR MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE AT THE NISSAN DEALER. I AM SO THANKFUL THAT THIS HAPPENED ON THE DRIVEWAY AND THAT NO ONE WAS INJURED. *TR
WE LIVE IN VIRGINIA, WHILE MY 18 YEAR OLD WAS DRIVING OUT OF HIGH SCHOOL TO COME HOME HE FELT A HUGE BUMP COMING AROUND THE CORNER COMING HOME (THANK GOODNESS HE WAS CLOSE TO OUR NEIGHBORHOOD AND NOT IN THE HIGHWAY). HE STOPPED THE VEHICLE CLOSE TO THE HOUSE AND NOTICED THAT AS HE WAS TURNING THE COILS MUST HAVE HIT THE TIRE BUT DUE TO THE RUST UNDER THE CAR FROM THE SALT THE MUFFLER FELL OFF. THIS COULD HAVE CAUSE SOME SEVERE DAMAGE TO SOMEONE DRIVING BEHIND HIM IF HE WAS DRIVING FASTER OR IN THE HIGHWAY. I HAVE CALLED NISSAN COOPERATION FIRST TO EXPLAIN THE SITUATION. BUT SINCE NISSAN REPRESENTATIVE MADE A SPECTACLE OF HERSELF WHEN I TOLD HER I HAD CANCER AND ITS THE ONLY VEHICLE WE HAVE THAT MY SON TAKES ME TO APPOINTMENTS THEY UNAVOIDABLY HAVE BEEN AVOIDING TO CALL ME BACK.. SHE TOLD ME I DONT SOUND LIKE I HAVE CANCER!! I DIDNT CALL FOR IGNORANCE I CALLED TO HAVE MY ISSUE RESOLVED NOT TO HAVE MY CANCER THROWN IN MY FACE. THEY HAD MY CLAIM NUMBER #21697765 TRANSFERRED TO THEIR HEAD OFFICE DUE TO THE INSENSITIVITY AND THE ISSUE. THEIR HEAD OFFICE CALLS AND LEAVES ME MESSAGES AT THE WORST TIMES OF THE DAY AND NEVER CALLS ME BACK WHEN I CALL. I AM ADDING A PICTURE OF THE RUSTED MUFFLER AND THE DAMAGE IT COULD HAVE CAUSED MY SON AND HIS LIFE AND OTHERS ON THE ROAD! TRULY THIS IS IRRESPONSIBLE ON NISSAN'S PART!!! I HAVEN'T EVEN PASSED 67000 MILES ON MY CAR. PLEASE KNOW THAT ALLSTATE WAS CALLED AND ADVISED OF ISSUE ON FEB.17,2015 SAME DAY AS INCIDENT. MY REPRESENTATIVES NAME WAS SARAH AND SHE ADVISED ME TO CALL NISSAN AND THEY MUST SUPPLY A BETTER PART OR A BETTER VEHICLE DUE TO A LACK OF RESPONSE AND LACK OF SAFETY PARAMETER OF MY SONS LIFE AND IF I WAS I THE VEHICLE, MY LIFE!
I HAVE NOT YET BEEN INVOLVED IN A CRASH AS A RESULT OF THIS PART, BUT I HAVE ALSO EXPERIENCED A CREAKING NOISE COMING FROM THE FRONT PASSENGER-SIDE SPRINGS IN MY 2010 NISSAN VERSA 1.8 SL AND I AM VERY WORRIED THAT SOMETHING SIMILAR TO WHAT OTHER VERSA OWNERS HAVE REPORTED IN THE CURRENT ONGOING INVESTIGATION WILL HAPPEN TO ME AND WOULD LIKE TO BE NOTIFIED OF ANY CHANGES IN THE INVESTIGATION. I HAVE HAD MY CAR IN THE SHOP MANY TIMES TO FIX SUSPENSION PROBLEMS THAT HAVE COST ME A FORTUNE AND I WANT TO KNOW THE MINUTE A REMEDY HAS BEEN MADE AVAILABLE FROM NISSAN. AGAIN, MY SUSPENSION HAS NOT YET COLLAPSED AS A RESULT OF THIS ISSUE, BUT THE CREAKING SOUND STARTED IN FEBRUARY AND HAS NOT YET BEEN FIXED DESPITE TWO SEPARATE TRIPS TO A NISSAN DEALERSHIP'S SERVICE CENTER.
2010 NISSAN VERSA. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO FUEL REGULATOR FAILURE AND VEHICLE SHUT OFF. *SMD
I NOTICED THAT SOMETHING WAS WRONG WITH "FEEL" OF RIGHT FRONT WHEEL SO TOOK VEHICLE IN FOR OIL CHANGE AND TIRE ROTATION AND ASKED SERVICE TO CHECK ON THAT WHEEL ISSUE. HE CALLED ME IN TO SEE THAT THE RIGHT FRONT SUSPENSION SPRING HAD TOTALLY CRACKED AND BROKEN OFF AND HAD BEEN RUBBING ON THE INSIDE OF THE TIRE CREATING A DEEP GROOVE IN THE RUBBER. IT WAS WORN THROUGH AND CLOSE TO PUNCTURING AND COULD NOT EVEN BE DRIVEN TO A DEALER. THIS VEHICLE HAS UNDER 37000 MILES ON IT AND HAS BEEN TOTALLY MAINTAINED AND NOT DRIVEN ON ANY POOR ROAD SURFACES. THIS WAS A 15 MONTH OLD TIRE WITH ABOUT 14000 MILES. TOTALLY DESTROYED IN WHAT WAS A POTENTIALLY LIFE THREATENING SITUATION DUE TO A FAULTY PART. NOT NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR FOR SPRINGS. THE MECHANIC SAID HE SEES THIS SPRING BREAKAGE ON A LOT OF VERSAS AND THE NISSAN DEALER ACKNOWLEDGED THAT NISSAN IS "AWARE" OF THIS PROBLEM! THESE VEHICLES SHOULD BE RECALLED AND ALL SUSPENSION SPRINGS REPLACED IMMEDIATELY BEFORE THERE IS A FATAL ACCIDENT ON THE HIGHWAY. I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE KNOWING THE LEFT SIDE COULD CRACK AT ANY TIME. I AM ALSO CONCERNED THAT IF ONLY NISSAN DEALERS ARE REPORTING THE REPAIRS THAT THEY DO, MANY REPAIRS BY INDEPENDENT MECHANICS ARE GOING UNREPORTED TO NISSAN. *TR
HEARD NOISE COMING FROM ENGINE. WENT TO DEALERSHIP. CAR IS 4.5 YEARS OLD...NOT EVEN PAID OFF YET BUT ABOUT 4,000 MILES OVER WARRANTY. I WAS AT THE DEALERSHIP FOR ALMOST 31/2 HOURS. THEY HAD TO DISMANTLE MY WHOLE ENGINE TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM. I WAS EVEN CHARGED AN HOUR OF LABOR BECAUSE IT TOOK THEM SO LONG TO FIGURE OUT WHAT THE NOISE WAS. FINALLY, THE SERVICE MANAGER, CAME OUT TO SPEAK TO ME. APPARENTLY THEY HAD DISCOVERED "PISTON SLAP" IN TWO OF MY CYLINDERS. I WAS TOLD THAT THERE IS NO WAY TO "FIX" THE PROBLEM OTHER THAN REPLACING THE ENGINE. HE SAID HE DID AN ESTIMATE ON THE PARTS AS BETWEEN THREE TO FOUR THOUSAND DOLLARS....PLUS LABOR. THE MANAGER WAS VERY SYMPATHETIC TOWARDS ME AS I CRIED. HE EXPLAINED THAT SOMETIMES WITH VEHICLES YOU GET LUCKY (MY LAST VEHICLE, A CHEVY, LASTED OVER 10 YEARS....PROBABLY WOULD STILL BE RUNNING IF I HAD NOT BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT) BUT IN THIS SITUATION I JUST DIDN'T LUCK OUT. I ASKED HOW LONG THE VEHICLE WOULD CONTINUE TO RUN. HE SAID HE COULDN'T ANSWER THAT QUESTION; HE COULDN'T PREDICT THE LIFE LEFT IN MY VEHICLE. IT WAS LIKE HE SAID MY CAR WAS JUST DIAGNOSED WITH CANCER. NO ANSWERS. I LEFT THE DEALERSHIP IN TEARS. I CERTAINLY DON'T HAVE SEVEN THOUSAND DOLLARS TO FIX THIS--THE CAR PROBABLY ISN'T EVEN WORTH THAT MUCH AT THIS POINT. NOW, EVERY DAY, I'M SCARED TO DRIVE MY OWN CAR. WHAT IF IT BREAKS DOWN WHEN I'M IN THE MIDDLE OF A BUSY INTERSECTION? WHAT IF THE ENGINE BLOWS UP? THIS IS A MECHANICAL DEFECT IN THE CAR. NOTHING I DID WRONG AS A CONSUMER/OWNER. I AM HAVING TO REPLACE MY FRONT-END SPRINGS IN 2010 NISSAN VERSA DUE TO THE DRIVER-SIDE SPRING BREAKING AND THE PASSENGER-SIDE BECOMING VERY WORN AND ABOUT TO BREAK. MY STRUTS AND OTHER PARTS OF THE SUSPENSION ARE FINE AND I HAVE NOT HAD TO REPLACE THOSE YET. SINCE I DON'T TOW ANYTHING OR PUT VERY HEAVY ITEMS IN MY CAR, I DON'T SEE WHY I SHOULD REPLACE MY SPRINGS OTHER THAN THAT PART BEING DEFECTIVE. SPRINGS USUALLY LAST THE LIFE OF THE CAR UNLESS YOU REGULARLY TOW, DRIVE ON DIRT ROADS, OR PUT HEAVY ITEMS IN THE CAR. I HAVE SEEN ONLINE THAT A NUMBER OF VERSA OWNERS ARE HAVING TO REPLACE THEIR SPRINGS DUE TO WEAR, WHICH SEEMS SUSPICIOUS. *TR
ACCIDENT INVOLVED CAR SPINNING THROUGH INTERSECTION REAR OF CAR IN DIRECTION OF MOTION, REAR OF CAR IMPACTED STATIONARY FORD F-150 THEN ROLLED INTO DITCH. DURING COURSE OF IMPACT DRIVER'S SEAT BACK DID NOT REMAIN LOCKED IN AN UPRIGHT POSITION, AT CONCLUSION OF IMPACT DRIVER'S SEAT WAS INVOLUNTARILY ALLOWED TO GO TO THE FULLY RECLINED POSITION, 6 YR OLD REAR SEAT PASSENGER WAS PARTIALLY IMPACTED BY SEAT BACK BUT DUE TO CUSHION OF SEAT NO MAJOR INJURY WAS SUSTAINED. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 NISSAN VERSA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS STARTED, THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER. HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 73,001. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
WHILE DRIVING MY VEHICLE AT A LOW RATE OF SPEED OVER A LOW PROFILE SPEED BUMP I HEARD A LOUD BANG AND MY CAR PROFILE DROPPED ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE WHILE THE PASSENGER SIDE REMAINED AT THE NORMAL HEIGHT. UPON FURTHER INSPECTION, IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE COIL ON MY DRIVER'S SIDE STRUT POPPED OUT OF THE HOLDER SECURING IT AND BARELY MISSED SEVERING MY BRAKE LINE. AS A CONSEQUENCE, I NEEDED TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE STRUT ASSEMBLY ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE AND AS A PRECAUTION ALSO REPLACED THE PASSENGER SIDE. MOREOVER, THE SUSPENSE WHILE REPAIRED WITHIN A WEEKS TIME, REQUIRED THAT I NEEDED TO REPLACE TIRES DUE TO WEAR PATTERS CAUSED BY THE SUSPENSION ISSUE. SUCH TIRES WERE AT HALF LIFE, BUT REGARDLESS WERE CHANGED AS A PRECAUTION SINCE IT WAS WINTER TIME IN THE NORTHEAST. MY FATHER KEPT THE ENTIRE STRUT ASSEMBLY OF BOTH SIDES SHOULD YOU BE INTERESTED IN LOOKING AT THEM. I ALSO TOOK PHOTOS OF THE STRUT ASSEMBLY PRIOR TO THE REPAIR.
I SUBMITTED A COMPLAINT IN OCTOBER OF 2014 REGARDING MY FAILED FRONT END SUSPENSION. SUCH ISSUE HAS SINCE GENERATED A RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER RECEIVED THE SAME REPAIR DOCUMENTATION PROVIDED TO YOUR INVESTIGATOR. THEY WILL NOT CONSIDER MY REIMBURSEMENT REQUEST UNLESS I ALLOW A NISSAN SERVICE TECH TAKE MY FRONT END SUSPENSION APART AND RE-PERFORM THE REPAIR WORK COMPLETED BY A NON-NISSAN TECH IN OCTOBER. I AM ONLY REQUESTING REIMBURSEMENT OF PART COSTS AND NOT LABOR. I HAVE OFFERED TO ALLOW A NISSAN TECH TO INSPECT THE WORK, BUT THIS RESOLUTION HAS BEEN DEEM UNACCEPTABLE BY NISSAN. ESSENTIALLY, THEY PROTECT THEMSELVES AGAINST BEING RESPONSIBLE FOR REIMBURSEMENT DONE PRIOR TO RECALL UNLESS PERFORMED BY THEIR TECHNICIANS. IS THIS ENFORCEABLE? MORE IMPORTANTLY, THE COIL WAS THE ONLY PIECE OF THE SUSPENSION RECALLED DESPITE THE FACT THAT GASKETS WERE MISSING FROM THE ASSEMBLY WHICH LED TO METAL ON METAL CONTACT AND THEREFORE WEAKENED THE STRUT ASSEMBLY NOT THE ROAD SALT AS THEY INDICATE IN THEIR RECALL. DO I HAVE ANY RECOURSE? I WOULDN'T AUTHORIZE SUCH NONSENSE FOR A $ 139 REFUND BECAUSE IT JUST MAKES NO SENSE IN TERMS OF LOST TIME. STRUT 1 IMAGE IS THE FAILED STRUT ASSEMBLY. STRUT 2 IS THE FACTORY STRUT ASSEMBLY.
FRONT BROKEN COIL SPRINGS. WHEN I TOOK MY NISSAN VERSA 1.8 S HATCHBACK FOR A REGULAR OIL MAINTENANCE AND TIRE ROTATION THE MECHANIC TOLD ME BOTH COIL SPRINGS HAD SNAPPED AND BROKEN AND IN ALMOST THE EXACT SAME LOCATION ON THE BOTTOM COIL, MILEAGE ON MY CAR IS ON 33,400 MILES, AND 4 YEARS OLD. NOT SURE WHEN THE COILS WERE SNAPPED AND BROKEN. I SPOKE TO THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP AND THEY TOLD ME THAT I MIGHT HAVE DRIVEN VERY HARD OVER THE POT HOLES AND BROKE THEM MYSELF AND THEY ARE NOT FAULTY PARTS, WHICH SOUNDS VERY RIDICULOUS TO ME. THIS IS VERY UNUSUAL FOR A 4 YEAR OLD AND LESS MILEAGE CAR WOULD HAVE A BROKEN COILS. I HAVE RESEARCHED ON THE INTERNET AND SAW SEVERAL PEOPLE COMPLAINING ABOUT THE SAME SITUATION, HERE IS THE LINK TO THE DISCUSSION FORUMS. THE MUFFLER ON MY CAR HAS RUSTED AND BROKEN A CLEAN CUT. NISSAN SHOULD WARRANTY THIS. THEY CLAIM ITS FROM DRIVING SALTED ROADS BUT WHILE I WAS IN THE WAITING ROOM TWO OTHER CUSTOMERS WALKED IN WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. I BELIEVE THIS IS A WARRANTY ISSUE. THEY WANTED OVER $500 TO FIX THIS PROBLEM. I TOOK IT TO ANOTHER REPAIR SHOP TO HAVE THE SAME WORK DONE FOR ONLY $200. THEY HAVE TO NOW REPLACE MY MUFFLER AND FLANGE. THE REPAIR SHOP SAID IT LOOKS LIKE THEY USED BAD MATERIALS ON THE MUFFLER AND THAT THEY HAVE SERVICED MANY 2008-2011 VERSA'S THIS YEAR WITH THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM. IT BREAKS OFF RIGHT AT THE PART WHERE THE PIPE MEETS THE EXHAUST. THIS IS TERRIBLE. I AM A SINGLE MOTHER AND STRUGGLING AS IT IS TO GET BY WITHOUT HAVING TO WORRY ABOUT FAULTY OR POORLY MADE PRODUCTS. THEY SHOULD RECALL THE VEHICLES AND REPLACE THESE PROBLEMATIC PARTS. *TR
FRONT WINDSHIELD WIPERS STALL FOR 20 SECONDS AND WIPER CONTROLLER DOES NOT FIX IT. MANUAL 1X WIPE WILL NOT TURN OFF WHEN IN USE AND WILL SOMETIMES CAUSE WIPERS TO STALL. INTERMITTENT USE IS NOT FUNCTIONAL DUE TO CONSTANT STALLING. CAR HAS TO BE COMPLETELY TURNED OFF FOR 2 MINUTES AT LEAST FOR IT TO RESET AND STOP THE MOTOR. THIS PROBLEM GETS WORSE WHEN IT'S COLD OUTSIDE.
WHILE DRIVING ON A LEVEL ROADWAY AT A SPEED OF 45MPH I NOTICED A SHARP NOISE COME FROM THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE. JUST AFTER HEARING THIS NOISE I NOTICED THE TIRE MONITOR LIGHT ILLUMINATE. I DROVE TO A SAFE AREA AND SAW THAT THE DRIVER'S SIDE FRONT TIRE WAS COMPLETELY FLAT. I TOOK OFF THE FRONT TIRE AND NOTICED A LARGE PUNCTURE IN THE INSIDE SIDEWALL OF THE TIRE AND FIGURED I HAD RUN OVER A LARGE BOLT OR OTHER ITEM AND CAUGHT IT JUST RIGHT ON THE SIDEWALL. I PUT THE SPARE ON THE CAR AND CONTINUED TO DRIVE HOME. I NOTICED THAT THE FRONT OF THE CAR SEEMED TO HAVE SQUATTED SOMEWHAT AND THE CAR WAS EXHIBITING A SLIGHT PULL. UPON INSPECTION I FOUND THAT THE DRIVER'S SIDE COIL SPRING HAD SNAPPED IT TWO. THIS BROKEN SPRING HAD THEN PUNCTURED MY TIRE. FORTUNATELY IT DID NOT IMMEDIATELY CAUSE A BLOWOUT OF THE TIRE. I SEE NO REASON WHY THIS SPRING SHOULD HAVE BROKEN. I HAVE SINCE DISCOVERED THAT THIS VERY ISSUE APPEARS TO HAPPEN QUITE A BIT WITH THE NISSAN VERSA AND IS DOCUMENTED IN MANY INCIDENTS ON THE INTERNET. I AM OUTSIDE OF THE WARRANTY RANGE FOR THE VEHICLE AND WILL HAVE TO EAT THE COST OF THIS REPAIR. I FEEL THAT THIS FAILURE IS PROBABLY THE RESULT OF USING INFERIOR METAL IN THE MANUFACTURE OF THE SPRING. I HAVE NEVER OWNED ANOTHER CAR THAT HAD AN ISSUE LIKE THIS. THIS IS NOT A RUST PROBLEM EITHER. IT IS APPARENTLY METAL FATIGUE/FAILURE. WHAT WOULD HAPPEN AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS IF THE TIRE HAD BLOWN? WHO WOULD ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY WHEN MY CHILDREN ARE IN THE CAR AND I AM IN AN ACCIDENT BECAUSE OF THIS? THERE WAS NO WARNING. HOW DO I CONTINUE TO DRIVE THIS CAR? I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH NISSAN OVER THIS ISSUE. I DOUBT I WOULD BUY ANOTHER OF THEIR PRODUCT BECAUSE OF THIS. I FEEL THEY SHOULD TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEIR FAULTY PRODUCT. TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2010 NISSAN VERSA. WHILE TRAVELING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH, A DEER CROSSED THE CONTACT'S PATH AND IMPACTED THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE, CAUSING A CRASH. THE FRONT DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED INJURIES TO BOTH ARMS AND THE FACE. THE PASSENGER SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE LEFT HAND AND NECK. ALTHOUGH IN MY INSTANCE IT DIDN'T RESULT IN A CAR CRASH I FEEL THAT IT IS IMPORTANT FOR ME TO LET YOU KNOW THAT I DID HAVE A COIL SPRING BRAKE. SPRING OF 2015 I NOTICED EXHAUST NOISE BECAME LOUDER AGAIN. AFTER INSPECTION FOUND THAT MID PIPE RUSTED OFF AT CONNECTION TO MUFFLER, AND ANOTHER LEAK IN CAT CONVERTER SECTION OF EXHAUST. MY VERSA HAS 71K MILES AND NEEDS WHOLE NEW EXHAUST. MY MOM HAS SAME VERSA AND SAME PROBLEMS. I DO NOT THINK THAT THIS IS COINCIDENCE IN MANY FORUMS VERSA OWNERS COMPLAIN ABOUT SAME PROBLEMS. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND TURNS OUT THE EVAPORATOR HAD A CRACK IN IT SO PAID NISSAN $1,500 TO REPLACE IT WITH A NON-GENUINE EVAPORATOR PART. THEN ABOUT SIX MONTHS LATER THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON WITH HAD AC AT SPEED 4 WHEN DRIVING AT ANY SPEED. TOLD THE BLOWER MOTOR WAS BAD AND NEEDED REPLACING AT THE COST OF $1,500 TO DO IT. THERE ARE A COUNTLESS PEOPLE THAT HAVE ENDURED THIS DEFECT AND THERE NEEDS TO BE A RECALL/SERVICE COMPLETED TO CHECK ALL COIL SPRINGS. THIS IS DANGEROUS. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 NISSAN VERSA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, THE ROOF STARTED MELTING AND SMOKE WAS SEEN COMING FROM THE ROOF. A FIRE DID NOT ERUPT. THE CONTACT DID NOT TAKE THE VEHICLE TO A DEALER OR A MECHANIC FOR INSPECTION OR REPAIRS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000.
THERE ARE TWO ISSUES INVOLVED. ENGINE STALLING AND TROUBLE STARTING. THE ENGINE STALLED AT LOW SPEED ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS. THERE WERE NO INDICATORS, THE ENGINE JUST CUT OUT IN THE MIDDLE OF DRIVING. WHEN TRAVELING AT HIGHER SPEED, ENGINE WOULD STUTTER (DASH INDICATORS WOULD QUICKLY COME ON AND THEN DISAPPEAR.) THE OTHER ISSUE IS TROUBLE STARTING. SOMETIMES WHEN IGNITION SWITCH IS TURNED, IT WOULD NOT DO ANYTHING. WHEN IT HAPPENS THE ONLY THING NOTICEABLE IS THE GEAR INDICATOR SHOWS BLANK (NORMALLY SHOW 'P' FOR PARK). SOMETIMES THE STARTER WOULD CRANK AND ENGINE WOULD START BUT ONLY RUN FOR 1-2 SECONDS BEFORE STALLING AGAIN. WHEN IT HAPPENS, PRESSING DOWN THE GAS PEDAL WHILE TURNING IGNITION SWITCH WOULD NORMALLY RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 NISSAN VERSA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH OVER A POTHOLE, THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED INTERMITTENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS. THE MECHANIC INFORMED THAT THE FRONT PASSENGER'S SEAT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNAVAILABLE.
WE BOUGHT THE BASIC MODEL OF THE 2010 NISSAN VERSA. OUR CHIEF COMPLAINT IS THE FACT THERE IS ONLY ONE LOCK AND IT IS ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR. I AM DISABLED THEREFORE WHEN I COME BACK FROM THE STORE OR SOME APPOINTMENT ETC OR HAVE MY GRANDCHILDREN OR OTHER CHILDREN FROM THE FAMILY, I HAVE FOUND THAT EITHER SOMEONE HAS PARKED TOO CLOSE TO OPEN THE DOOR ( MANY TIMES AND WHEN YOU ARE IN PAIN THE LAST THING YOU WANT TO DO IN THE RAIN OR 90+ WEATHER IS WAIT FOR SOMEONE TO COME OUT AND MOVE A VEHICLE WHEN YOU HURT TOO BAD TO WALK BACK WHEREVER YOU ARE) OR THE OTHER PROBLEM IS LEAVING CHILDREN UNATTENDED WHILE REACHING THRU TO UNLOCK THE PASSENGER DOOR BECAUSE YOU ACTUALLY HAVE TO PHYSICALLY GET IN TO REACH THE OTHER LOCK. YOU DON'T WANT KIDS WALKING ACROSS CLOTH SEATS WITH DIRTY SHOES. WE NEED KEYLOCKS PUT ON THE PASSENGER SIDE DOORS. IT IS A MATTER OF SAFETY IF ANYTHING ELSE. WHAT IF THERE IS AN EMERGENCY AND YOU CANNOT UNLOCK YOUR CAR DOOR? WE DON'T LIKE POWER LOCKS BECAUSE OF THE GRANDKIDS AND CHILDREN WE HAVE WITH US THEIR AGES. BUT WE WON'T BUY ANOTHER NISSAN PRODUCT IF YOU CAN ONLY ENTER ONE DOOR. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 NISSAN VERSA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE LOW BEAM AND HIGH BEAM HEADLIGHTS WOULD FAIL ON AN INTERMITTENT BASIS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT BEEN INSPECTED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 8,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
