The contact owns a 2011 Nissan Versa. The contact stated that while driving 20 MPH in a parking lot, the front driver's side air bag unexpectedly deployed without an impact to the vehicle. In addition, the air bag exploded. The contact was unsure if any warning light was illuminated. The contact sustained minor injuries to the right eye and the neck, and an allergic reaction on the face from the powder released from the air bag. The police and the paramedics were called. Afterwards, the contact went to an Urgent Care clinic. The contact's husband drove the vehicle to the residence. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The contact stated that back in 2018, she received a recall notice regarding the "Driver Frontal Air Bag Inflator ." The contact took the vehicle to the dealer, and the recall repairs were completed. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 172,000.
I was working for Uber Eats in New Smyrna Beach, FL. The car was front parked and I reversed the car to pull out from the parking lot. I drove at 5 MPH on the parking lot ready to drive to the main road. The main road was two stop signs away. I was halfway to the first stop sign the airbag deployed all of a sudden. There was no car in front of me or behind me. But the airbag impact blew my right arm from the wrist. My right arm was numb and upper right shoulder was bruised.
The contact owns a 2011 Nissan Versa. The contact stated that the rear passenger's side door failed to unlock and unlatch as intended. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an unknown local dealer, where it was diagnosed that the door lock actuator needed to be replaced. The vehicle was diagnosed at the owner's expense. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 58,000.
BOTH front coil springs suddenly without warning broke while driving collapsing the front end of the vehicle creating difficulty in steering and handling. Although this year/model are the subject of a front coil spring recall this vin does not qualify.
The contact owns a 2011 Nissan Versa. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 16V349000 (Air Bags) and 17V449000 (Air Bags) and would like to be removed from the recall distribution list. The local dealer and manufacturer were not contacted.
On September 11th, my wife was involved in a car accident while driving her 2011 Nissan Versa. The collision resulted in the vehicle rolling over and ending up upside down. Shockingly, none of the airbags deployed during this serious incident. A family member recommended that I report this to Nissan, which I promptly did. However, their response, received last Friday, was rather concerning. According to Nissan, the airbags were not designed to deploy in the event of a rollover crash, and they suggested there was no further action to be taken on their end. Today, I consulted with an attorney's office regarding this matter, and they advised me to report the incident to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) as a crucial step. Consequently, I am submitting these details to NHTSA to ensure that this incident is properly documented and investigated. Safety is paramount, and I believe it is essential to bring attention to this situation so that appropriate actions can be taken to prevent similar incidents in the future. Thank you for your attention to this matter. [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
On 7-25-23, my wife and I were riding in our 2011 Nissan Versa locally and noticed a banging noise coming from the front end of the car, especially when hitting bumps or uneven payment. When we parked the car at home, I noticed a small piece of metal shaped like a coil spring on the road where we usually park. I phoned our mechanic at Ryan Automotive Goodyear in Moon Twp and asked him if he had time today to see where the banging noise was coming from. We arrived at Ryan Automotive around 3pm. Our mechanic [XXX] said that the front coil spring has broken and the top engine mount needs to be replaced as well. There was a recall on the front coil springs back in 2015 that I had done at West Hills Nissan in Moon Twp, which was sold to #1 Cochran Nissan. Cochran Nissan has no record of my car being serviced at West Hills Nissan along with the recall work. I am wondering if West Hills Nissan ever replaced the coil springs or did they use the recalled coil springs for the replacement. I am trying to find out if the front coil spring recall can still be honored at a local Nissan Dealer. When I searched for official Nissan recall centers near me, #1 Cochran Nissan does not come up. As you know, a broken coil spring can easily fall below the strut and slice the sidewall on your tire in the blink of an eye, especially on the highway. This is a dangerous situation, so I would like to get the recall on the front coil springs done at a local Nissan dealer, otherwise I will consider trading the car in toward a newer car. Sincerely, [XXX] [XXX] mobile and [XXX] . [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

The passenger seat belt keeps locking up anytime me and my wife put the seat belt on. For the seat belt to loosen we have to unclip the seat belt but anytime we even stretch the seat belt and then put it back in the clip it tightens up again. This is when we are stationary and not moving but it also happens even when we are just driving and I’m not even pressing the brake pedal when it happens.
I do not live in the salt snow States my coils snapped my wheel almost flew off and the dealer is very difficult
THE HORN ,ALARM SYSTEM WAS EFFECTED THE AIR BAG LIGHT CAME BACK ON AS WELL THE HORN IS NOT WORKING OR BLOWIING THE KEYS IS NOT LOCKING THE DOOR AND NOW ROCKAWAY NISSAN WANTS ME TO REPLACE THE AIR BAG AND THE THE HORN RELAY FOR A TOTAL OF 130075 PLUS LABOR ITS NOT RIGHT I NEED SOME HELP WITH THIS IF YOU COULD SEND A RECALL FORM AGAIN TO REPLACE THE REPLACE WE ARE IN A PANDAMIC AND AM NOT WORKING PLEASE SEE WHAT YOU COULD DO TO SOLVE THIS PROBLEM
Driver door handle will not open from inside car at times. The exterior handle locking mechanism gets stuck not allowing the door to open from the inside. When this happens, I need to roll down the window to reach outside and jiggle the exterior door handle in order to be able to open the door from inside the car. This poses a serious safety hazard of the driver not being able to exit the vehicle in an emergency. This is a common issue with the Nissan Versa car on many car forums online. I believe there was a recall issued for newer model cars, but not the 2011 year.
The contact owns a 2011 Nissan Versa. The contact stated while starting the vehicle, there was an abnormal sound while turning the steering wheel. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who diagnosed the failure with the coil springs. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V573000 (Suspension) for which the VIN was included. The approximate failure mileage was 200,000.
The contact owns a 2011 Nissan Versa. The contact stated while driving 40 MPH, the accelerator pedal was depressed however, the vehicle hesitated. The contact felt the hesitation coming from the front passenger side of the vehicle as the low tire pressure warning light illuminated on the instrument panel. The contact pulled over and saw that the front passenger’s side tire was completely flat and torn all the way around. The contact called roadside assistance and a spare tire was placed on the vehicle. The contact then drove to a dealer and was informed that the front passenger’s side coil spring fractured, which caused the puncture and damage to the tire. The dealer replaced the front driver’s and passenger’s side coil springs along with the tire. After the repair, the contact discovered NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V573000 (Suspension) which he linked to the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the recall and informed him that the Vin was not included in the recall. The vehicle was repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 188,000. The tire puncture caused the tire to burst, resulting in loss of control of the vehicle. The puncture was more like a shredding of the entire circumference.

CRACKED COIL SPRING WAS REPLACED IN 2016 PER RECALL. WHILE DRIVING ON 10/12/2020, SUSPENSION ISSUES OCCURRED AGAIN MAKING THE CAR UNDRIVEABLE AND BARELY AVOIDING SERIOUS ACCIDENT AND INJURY. THERE WAS A LOUD CRACK FROM UNDER THE CAR AND THE VEHICLE BECAME UNSTABLE. I GOT TO A SAFE SPOT TO PULL OVER AND HAD IT TOWED.
AFTER RECEIVING MANY CALLS AND LETTERS FOR AIR BAGS RECALLS, I SET AN APPOINTMENT WITH THE AGENT JOSH FOR THURSDAY JULY 16, 2020 AT PERFORMANCE NISSAN AT 1345 SOUTH FEDERAL HIGHWAY, POMPANO FL 33062, AT 7:30 AM. WHEN TALKING WITH JOSH, HE TOLD ME THAT THERE ARE TWO RECALLS IN MY NISSAN. I ASKED HIM TO DO BOTH RECALLS AT THE SAME TIME. HE SAID BOTH RECALLS COULD TAKE ONE HOUR. WE SET THE APPOINTMENT AND HE GAVE ME THE PHONE TO TALK TO PERFORMANCE NISSAN FOR CONFIRMATION. ON THURSDAY JULY 16, 2020, I WENT TO THE APPOINTMENT. IT TOOK ME ,MORE THAN THREE HOURS AT THE PLACE. HOWEVER, AT THE END THEY TOLD ME THEY DID ONE RECALL, AND THEY ORDERED THE PARTS FOR THE OTHER RECALL, WHICH PART THEY WILL HAVE IN THREE DAYS. WHEN THEY GAVE THE CAR, I FELT THAT IT DID NOT SOUND AS IT USED TO BEFORE THE RECALL. THE AC DID NOT WORK PERFECTLY, BUT I THOUGHT THAT WAS BECAUSE THEY DID NOT FINISH WITH THE AIR BAG RECALL. ON FRIDAY JULY 17, 2020, MY WIFE DROVE THE CAR TO WORK AS IT IS HER CAR. BUT WHEN SHE CAME BACK, SHE TOLD ME THAT THE CAR HAD PROBLEMS AND SHE DID NOT WANT TO DRIVE IT AGAIN. I SAID TO HER THAT THE PROBLEM IS BECAUSE THEY DID NOT COMPLETE THE RECALL. ON WEDNESDAY JULY 22, 2020, MY WIFE TOLD ME TO DROP HER AT WORK. I TOOK THE CAR, AND WHEN I STARTED IT I FELT THE CAR WAS MAKING NOISE AND SHAKING. FOR I DID NOT DRIVE IT , AND I SAW AT THAT TIME THAT MY WIFE WAS IN DANGER WHILE DRIVING THE CAR. AFTER I DROPPED HER AT WORK, I CALLED PERFPRMANCE NISSANCE TO REPORT THAT THEY DAMAGED MY CAR WHILE PERFORMING THE AIR BAGS RECALL. THEY CALLED ME TO DRIVE THE CAR TO THEM FOR DIAGNOSTIC. I TOLD THEM THAT THEY MUST SEND SOMEONE TO TOW THE CAR. THEY INSTEAD GAVE ME A PHONE NUMBER TO CALL FOR PICK UP THE CAR. THEY PICKED UP THE CAR BY 3;00 PM.ON THURSDAY 23, 2020 EMAIL: [XXX] REDACTED TO PROTECT PERSONALLY IDENTIFIABLE INFORMATION PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6). *CC
THE FRONT COIL SPRING BROKE OR UNWOUND AND STABBED THE TIRE. WE WERE JUST LEAVING, STILL IN THE DRIVEWAY AND HAD ONLY TRAVELED A FEW INCHES WHEN WE HEARD A NOISE AND STOPPED. WE WATCHED THE TIRE DEFLATE AND HEARD IT HISSING. THE NEXT DAY (TODAY) WE REMOVED THE TIRE AND FOUND THAT IT HAD BEEN STABBED. MY GRAND-NEPHEW FOUND THERE WAS A RECALL NOTICE. I CALLED NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS AT 1-800-867-7669. AND LEFT A MESSAGE, THEN CALLED NISSAN ANCHORAGE DEALERSHIP. THEY OFFERED TO TAKE A LOOK AT IT BEFORE THEY COULD HELP. THAT WOULD REQUIRE A 45 MILE TOW. THEY GAVE ME A DIFFERENT NUMBER AT NISSAN: 800-647-7261. I CALLED AND SPOKE WITH [XXX], SHE GAVE ME A CASE #[XXX], BUT SAID MY VIN WASN'T IN THE CAMPAIGN. APPARENTLY IT DOESN'T APPLY IF THE CAR IS OVER 9 YEARS OLD, AND MAYBE THE MILEAGE IS TOO HIGH, IT'S 104,789. WE ARE ALIVE AND UNHURT BECAUSE OF THE TIMING, BUT THIS COULD HAVE BEEN DEADLY. I NEVER RECEIVED A NOTICE. THEIR WEBSITE DOES NOT LIST ALASKA AS QUALIFYING FOR THE CAMPAIGN. I WILL BE HAVING THE CAR TOWED TO A LOCAL SHOP FOR REPAIRS. NISSAN SHOULD TAKE CARE OF THE EXPENSES. I WOULD LIKE TO TAKE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP, BUT THERE IS A POSSIBILITY THAT THE REPAIRS MIGHT COST MORE THAN REPLACEMENT. THE DRIVERS DOOR HANDLE IS COMING OFF..
NISSAN VEHICLE WAS ON A MAIN CITY ROAD IN MOTION AND THEN SLOWING DOWN TO TRAFFICS CHANGE IN SPEED WHEN REAR ENDED. AS SOON AS VEHICLE WAS REAR ENDED, BRAKES WERE PRESSED TO PREVENT FURTHER COLLISIONS WITH VEHICLES UP FORWARD. MY VEHICLE SEATBELTS FAILED TO RESTRAIN DRIVER AND ALL PASSENGERS WEARING THEM DURING A COLLISION. SEAT BELTS DIDN'T RETRACT UNLESS BRAKES WERE SLAMMED. TWO PASSENGERS IN THE BACK WERE CHILDREN. ONE CHILD HAD A CONVERTIBLE CAR SEAT, SAVING THEM AND FULLY RESTRAINING THEM TO SEAT. THE SECOND CHILD WAS IN A BOOSTER SEAT AND WHIPLASHED COMPLETELY FORWARD AND BACK NEARLY HITTING HEAD BEHIND DRIVERS SEAT. THE DRIVER LOCKED THEIR ARMS IN PLACE TO PREVENT HITTING THE STEERING WHEEL. THE FRONT PASSENGER, MYSELF, HIT THE AREA OF THE GLOVE COMPARTMENT AND SUFFERED A SMALL BUT DEEP GASH ON THE FOREHEAD. THIS REQUIRED SUTURES TO CLOSE WOMB UP. NO AIR BAGS DEPLOYED WHEN IMPACT TO VEHICLE WAS MADE. AIRBAGS WERE REPLACED WHEN RECALL TO VEHICLE AIRBAGS WERE MADE IN THE PAST, 2017.*DT VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED. I TOOK MY CAR IN TO NISSAN FOR RECALL THEY SUPOSEIVELY FIXED THE AIRBAG PROBLEM . SINCE THEN I HAS A SMALL FENDER BENDER. AIRBAG DID NOT POP OPEN. LAST WEEK THE CAR WAS IN AN ACCIDENT. THE FRONT WAS SEVERLY DANMAGED AND STILL AIRBAG DID NOT POP OUT. I DONT THINK IT EVER GOT FIXED!!!! MY SON COULD HAVE DIED.WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS. I'M I COMPLAINING TO THE CORRECT PLACE???
I TOOK MY CAR TO A LOCAL NISSAN DEALERSHIP FOR AN AIRBAG RECALL ON THE DRIVER SIDE AND AFTER THE RECALL WAS SUPPOSEDLY DONE BECAUSE AFTER THIS I'M NOT EVEN POSITIVE THEY WORKED ON MY CAR FOR THAT RECALL. AFTER THE RECALL WAS DONE NOW THE CAR HORN IN MY STEERING WHEEL IS NOT WORKING WHEN IT WAS WORKING BEFORE. THE NISSAN ADVISOR SAID THAT THEY CAN'T FIX IT AND THE REASON IS BECAUSE IS AN OLD CAR. THEY WANT ME TO PAY ALMOST 700 HUNDRED DOLLARS FOR THEM TO FIX WHAT THEY RUINED. NOW I HAVE NO CAR HORN. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD FOR ANYONE ON THE ROAD. A CAR HORN WORKS TO ADVICE OTHER DRIVERS OF ANY HAZARD. FROM THIS HAPPENING TO ME I NOW THINK THAT THEY DIDN'T DO ANYTHING IN REGARDS TO AIRBAG RECALLS AND THAT I JUST TOOK MY CAR JUST FOR THEM TO SCAM ME SO I CAN PAY FOR A PART THAT WAS WORKING AND THAT THEY RUINED. THE NISSAN I WENT TOO IS NAPLES NISSAN IN NAPLES, FLORIDA. I ALSO HAVE CALLED NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS AND THEY HAVEN'T DONE ANYTHING IN THIS MATTER I HAVE TWO CLAIM NUMBERS ALREADY I HAVE CALLED TWICE AND THERE NOT DOING ANYTHING ABOUT THIS MATTER.

WHILE PULLING ON TO THE I-26 ON RAMP THE VEHICLE LOST ALL PROPULSION POWER AND WOULDN'T MOVE. THEN AFTER I GOT OVER TO THE SHOULDER IT WOULD START BUT STILL CONTINUES TO DIE AFTER 1 OR 2 SECONDS RUNNING. THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED. IT HAD DONE THIS BEFORE ABOUT 6 MONTHS PRIOR. I AM CURRENTLY STUCK DUE TO THIS ISSUE
TAKATA RECALL I TOOK MY NISSAN TO THE DEALER FOR THE AIR BAG RECALL 2-3 TIMES. THEY REPLACED THE AIRBAGS BUT NOW THE AIRBAG LIGHT ON THE DASHBOARD FLASHES. THEY TOLD ME I HAVE TO PAY TO FIX IT NOW ABOUT $800. WHAT SHOULD I DO?
TODAY, 5/1/2019, MY CAR'S REAR SPRING SNAPPED. THANKFULLY I WAS GOING SLOW AND IT DIDN'T CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. HOWEVER, THE REASON I'M REPORTING THIS IS BECAUSE THE FRONT SPRINGS WERE RECALLED FOR NOT BEING COATED PROPERLY, BUT THE BACK SPRINGS WERE NOT AND IT SEEMS TO BE THE SAME TYPE OF PROBLEM. I WAS DRIVING LESS THAN 25 MPH, BRINGING MY FRIENDS KIDS TO THE BUS STOP AND I HEARD A LOUD SPRING POPPING BANG NOISE AND FELT IT UNDER MY CAR.
