P0846 FLUID PRESSURE SENSOR - REPLACEMENT OF TRANSMISSION CONTROL VALVE BODY/ REPLACE COMPLETE TRANSMISSION. I GOT A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WHICH SHOWED P0846 CODE IN MID 2018. HOWEVER THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT DISAPPEARED AFTER A WHILE. THE LIGHT REAPPEARED NOW IN 2020 SHOWING THE SAME FAULTY CODE. I WENT TO DEALERSHIP TO CHECK IT OUT AND THEY SAID THAT THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE IN NISSANS 2012 VERSA AND THAT I WILL NEED TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION. THEY TOLD ME THAT THE WARRANTY HAS ALSO EXPIRED AS THE VEHICLE IS ABOVE 84000 MILES. ( I GOT THIS LIGHT AT 79K MILES WITH THE SAME CODE AND IT HAD DISAPPEARED.) I HAD PHOTOGRAPHED IT WITH DATES AND TIME SHOWING . NISSAN TOLD ME THAT THEY WILL NOT HELP IN ANY WAY AND THAT I WILL NEED TO COVER THE COMPLETE COST. VEHICLE WORKS PRETTY OKAY I DON'T FEEL ANY ISSUES IN IT. *TR
MY 2012 VERSA, WON'T SHIFT GEARS, STALLS AND EVEN WITH THE GAS ALL THE WAY DOWN, IT WON'T ACCELERATE. TOOK IT TO NISSAN ROSSEN IN MILWAUKEE, WI. FOR A DIAGNOSTIC, RESULT: TRANSMISSION FAILURE, COST TO REPLACE IT $4,200.00. I SEE A LOT OF COMPLAINTS FOR THE SAME ISSUE. ALSO IF THERE IS A RECALL FOR THAT WHY MY VIN NUMBER IS NOT INCLUDED? NISSAN SHOULD BE LIABLE FOR THAT ISSUE AND REPAIR THE AFFECTED CARS. NOTE : MY TRANSMISSION WENT OFF AT 53000 MILES. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 NISSAN VERSA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT ON VARIOUS OCCASIONS, THE VEHICLE STALLED WHILE THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO LINKED THE FAILURE TO A DEFECTIVE TRANSMISSION. THE CONTACT CALLED NISSAN OF ROANOKE RAPIDS (407 PREMIER BLVD, ROANOKE RAPIDS, NC 27870) AND WAS REFERRED TO THE MANUFACTURER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND CASE WAS FILED. THE CONTACT REFERENCED THE FAILURE TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 12V032000 (POWER TRAIN) HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 110,000.
THE TRANSMISSION HAS HAD ONGOING ISSUES SINCE MANUFACTURED. NISSAN HAS KNOWN OF THE ISSUE BUT HAS MADE PATCH WORK OF THE ISSUE INSTEAD OF REPLACING THE TRANSMISSION. SINCE THE RECALL DEADLINE WAS MAY 9,2020 THEY ARE RECOMMENDING THE TRANSMISSION TO BE REPLACED BUT UNWILLING TO REPAIR IT UNDER THE RECALL AT MY COST. IN GOOD FAITH OF THE COMPANY, THEY KNEW OF THE ISSUE AND SHOULD COVER THE MAJORITY OF THE COST AND I WAS WILLINGLY TO PAY A PORTION HOWEVER THEY ARE NOT WILLING TO HELP. I WAS UNABLE TO TAKE THE CAR TO THEIR SHOP BEFORE THE DEADLINE DUE TO THE GOVERNMENT LOCKDOWN. THE CODE THAT THE ALWAYS COMES UP ON WHEN THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON IS P0486. THE HAVE REPLACE THE VALVE BODY AND REPROGRAMMED SEVERAL TIMES BUT THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COME ON AND THE REPROGRAM IT AND DID NOT WANT TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION UNTIL AFTER THEIR RECALL WAS EXPIRED. I HAVE BARELY PUT 4300 MILES ON IT SINCE THE PATCH JOB THEY DID. THEY SAID THAT THIS PATCH WOULD CORRECT THE ISSUE AND THE SAME ISSUE SHOULD NOT HAPPEN AGAIN.THIS IS MY DAILY DRIVER AND THE LIGHT WOULD STAY ON BUT WENT OFF PRIOR TO MY FIRST VISIT IN JUNE BUT ON THREE DAYS LATER. THE DEALERSHIP COULDN?T GET ME IN UNTIL JUNE 10. *TR
THE TRANSMISSION COMPLETELY QUITS WORKING SOMETIMES IN THE MIDDLE OF DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND THEN START BACK WORKING JUST FINE. IT'S LIKE A DEAD PADDLE BUT I HAVE REPLACEMENT EVERYTHING BUT THE TRANSMISSION. IT HAS NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS OR ABS CODES. IT WILL ONLY ALLOW RPMS UP TO 1 UNTIL IT COMES BACK THEN IT STARTS WORKING AGAIN IT EVEN KICK OFF THE CRUISE CONTROL AND STARTED BLINKING
TRANSMISSION FAILED AFTER ONLY EIGHT YEARS WITH PROPER MAINTENANCE. I REVERSED OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY AND INTO THE BUSY HIGHWAY AND WHEN I PUT IT IN DRIVE IT WOULD NOT MOVE AT ALL. I AM VERY LUCKY THAT THE ONCOMING TRAFFIC NOTICED I WAS HAVING ISSUES OR I WOULD CERTAINLY BE DEAD. MY MECHANIC SAID IT IS NOT WORTH IT TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION BECAUSE IT WILL ONLY FAIL AGAIN AND AGAIN. I HAVE BEEN ADVISED TO GET RID OF THE VEHICLE AND PURCHASE A NEW ONE, IT SEEMS NISSAN'S CVT TRANSMISSIONS HAVE HAD A LOT OF ISSUES THAT ARE WIDELY KNOWN. IT IS UNFORTUNATE THAT NISSAN IS ALLOWED TO CONTINUE SELLING LEMONS. MY VERY FIRST CAR WAS A 1981 MONTE CARLO AND THE TRANSMISSION ON THAT CAR NEVER HAD TO BE REPLACED, I USED THAT CAR UNTIL 2016 AND THE ONLY REASON I GOT RID OF IT WAS THAT THE FRAME BUCKLED IF THAT CAR CAN GO 35 YEARS WITH NO TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS, THEN THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO EXCUSE FOR A 2012 TRANSMISSION TO FAIL IN 8 YEARS.
I HAVE A 2012 NISSAN VERSA, MY CAR WON'T START. EVERYTHING WILL TURN OVER, BUT THE ENGINE. YOU WAIT A FEW AND IT MIGHT. I TAKE THE KEY OUT AND PUT BACK IN AND IT MIGHT START. IT HAS TO WITH THE KEY AND IGNITION SWITCH!
MY CVT TRANSMISSION WENT OUT JUST 5 MONTHS AFTER PURCHASING THE VEHICLE FROM THE USED CAR DEALERSHIP, EBERSOLE OF LEBANON. THE VEHICLE HAS 94,000 MILES ON IT CURRENTLY. IT IS AN AUTOMATIC CVT TRANSMISSION AND TENDS TO SLIP IN AND OUT OF GEAR A LOT. THE VEHICLE HAS THESE PROBLEMS WHEN SITTING, DRIVING AND ACCELERATING AS WELL.
I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY WITH MY TWO KIDS ON THE FAR RIGHT LANE WHEN MY CAR SUDDENLY WOULD NOT SWITCH GEARS. IN THE PAST MY CAR WOULD JERK AND I WOULD PUSH ON THE GAS AND IT WOULD NOT GO ANYWHERE.I LOOKED THIS PROBLEM UP ON LINE AND ALOT OF PEOPLE SEEM TO HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. I CALLED NISSAN THAN THEY WILL NOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT THEY HAVE TOLD ME THE RECALL ON THE 2012 VERSA IS CLOSED. THIS WAS A VERY SCARY SITUATION TO BE IN. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE IN THIS CAR.

THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT WHILE DEPRESSING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL TO THE FLOORBOARD, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE. THE CONTACT COASTED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE AND WAS LATER TAKEN TO LOKEY NISSAN LOCATED AT (27758 US HWY 19N, CLEARWATER, FL 33761) TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE CVT TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 89,700. *BF*TP
I RECEIVED A RECALL CARD IN THE MAIL INSTRUCTED ME TO TAKE MY CAR TO NISSAN BECAUSE OF THE AIRBAG MALFUNCTION IN THE AIRBAG WHICH COULD CAUSE DEATH AND THE LIGHT CONTINUE TO STAY ON I TOOK MY CAR THERE THEY NEVER FIXED IT THEY SAID THEY DID BUT IT WAS NEVER FIXED I STILL HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM AND AS OF TODAY I'M STILL HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM I TOOK MY CAR THEY ARE IN 2017 OR 2018 WHEN I GOT THE CARD WHEN I WAS INSTRUCTED TO TAKE THE CAR TO THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP I DID CALL THAT DEALERSHIP BACK WHICH WAS QUITE COOLEY IN DUNCAN VILLE TEXAS THE ONES THAT WAS SUPPOSED TO FIX IT I'LL CALL THE SERVICE CENTER AND THEY KEPT GIVING ME THE RUNAROUND I DID REPORT THAT IT WASN'T FIXED NOBODY DID ANYTHING AS OF TODAY THEY STILL HAVEN'T DONE ANYTHING I'M STILL DRIVING WITH MY CAR WITH THE RECALLS STILL ON MY CAR AND I AM VERY MUCH CONCERNED ABOUT IT I JUST WANT MY CAR FIXED ASAP PLEASE THIS PROBLEM IS STILL ON GOING BEFORE I GOT THE RECALL AND AFTER I GOT THE RECALL AND AFTER THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO HAVE FIXED IT WHICH THEY DID NOT TODAY'S DATE IS DECEMBER 9, 2019
WHILE DRIVING THE CAR AT ALMOST ANY SPEED ABOVE 15MPH THE CAR HAS JERKY SHIFTING MOVEMENTS LIKE IT CAN'T FIND THE RIGHT GEAR. WHILE TRAVELLING AT A CONSTANT SPEED ON THE HIGHWAY THE RPMS CONTINUE TO FLUCTUATE. TOOK IT TO THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP AND THEY SUGGESTED "VALVE BODY" REPLACEMENT. THAT COST AN ASTOUNDING $2100+ TO FIX. GOT IT BACK AND THE PROBLEM IS WORSE THAN BEFORE. CHECKED ONLINE AND TONS OF PEOPLE ARE REPORTING PROBLEMS WITH THE CVT TRANSMISSIONS. THERE WAS EVEN A RECALL FOR THE PREVIOUS MODEL YEARS. NISSAN HAS NOT FIXED THE ISSUE AND CAR'S TRANSMISSION IS JUNK. I'M OUT BIG MONEY AND THEY ARE LIKELY TO RECOMMEND MORE "FIXES" FOR THE ISSUE. WHEN SITTING IN HEAVY TRAFFIC AT STOP LIGHTS, MY CAR WOULD AUTOMATICALLY TURN OFF CAUSING THE NEED TO RESTART THE VEHICLE, TO WHICH POINT SOMETIMES IT WOULD TURN ON AND SOMETIMES IT WOULDN'T. THERE WERE ALSO TIMES THE VEHICLE WOULD STALL OR PULL BACK WHILE SLOWING DOWN AND SPEEDING UP IN TRAFFIC. I VISITED MIDAS TO HAVE THE VEHICLE REPAIRED AND AFTER DIAGNOSIS, THEY ATTEMPTED TO SAVE THE TRANSMISSION BY REPLACING THE FLUID. THIS ATTEMPT WAS NOT SUCCESSFUL AND THEY DETERMINED THE TRANSMISSION WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THIS IS A FAIRLY NEW CAR AND SHOULD NOT HAVE THIS ISSUE. THERE IS A TRANSMISSION RECALL FOR A SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT MODEL OF THE NISSAN VERSA 2012, BUT NOT THE NISSAN VERSA SL 2012. THIS SHOULD ALSO BE ON THE RECALL LIST.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 NISSAN VERSA. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS AT A STOP, IT SHOOK AND HESITATED WITHOUT WARNING. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 28,000.
THE CVT TRANSMISSION SLIPS AND GIVES UNEVEN ACCELERATION UNDER ALL CIRCUMSTANCES. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS WHEN MERGING INTO TRAFFIC OR TURNING INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE TO NISSAN NA & MANY LAWSUITS HAVE BEEN FILED OVER THE YEARS. THE FIRST TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED AT 20,000 MILES & ANOTHER WAS JUST REPLACED AT 85,000 MILES. NISSAN KNOWS THAT THEY ARE PROVIDING AN INFERIOR PRODUCT, BASED ON THE # OF LAWSUITS IT HAS FACED OVER THE YEARS CONCERNING THE CVT. NOT ONLY IS THE PRODUCT UNRELIABLE, IT IS ALSO DANGEROUS TO THE DRIVER, THE VEHICLE'S OCCUPANTS AND ANYONE ELSE WHO MAY AFFECTED BY AN ACCIDENT CAUSED BY CVT FAILURE.
MY CAR HAD A R1709 RECALL. THIS WAS TO FIX THE AIRBAGS. I TOOK IT TO MY LOCAL NISSAN DEALERSHIP TO HAD THE REPAIR DONE. THE WAITING TIME I WAS TOLD WOULD BE ABOUT 1 OR 2 HOURS. IT TOOK ABOUT 5 HOURS AND I WAS TOLD IT WAS BECAUSE A NEW INEXPERIENCED MECHANIC WAS WORKING ON IT. WHEN I GOT MY CAR BACK THE LIGHTS TELLING ME THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE AIRBAGS WERE STILL BLINKING. I HAD NO TIME TO GO BACK SINCE THEY HAD JUST WASTED ALL THE TIME I HAD. THE VERY NEXT DAY I REALIZED THAT NOW MY CAR'S HORN DOESN'T WORK EITHER. THIS WAS NEVER A PROBLEM BEFORE. I CALLED TO TELL THEM I BELIEVE THEY MAY HAVE MESSED UP THE WORK THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO DO. THEY SIMPLY TOLD ME THEY DID THE WORK THEY HAD TO AND THAT IF MY CAR HAS ADDITIONAL ISSUES IT'S NOT THEIR PROBLEM. I EVEN TOLD THEM I FIND IT HARD TO BELIEVE THAT ALL THE CAR'S AIRBAGS ARE FAILING AT THE SAME TIME AND THAT NOW THE HORN DOESN'T MAKE ANY SOUND RIGHT AFTER I TOOK IT TO GET IT FIXED. I BELIEVE THEY DID THE WRONG WORK ON IT WHICH MIGHT EXPLAIN WHY THEY TOOK FAR LONGER THAN THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO. THEY GAVE ME NO SOLUTION SO I HAD TO MAKE A CASE WITH NISSAN CORPORATE. THE ONLY SOLUTION I WAS GIVEN BY CORPORATE WAS TO TAKE IT BACK TO THE SAME REPAIR SHOP AND THEY WILL CHECK IT, HOWEVER I WILL BE CHARGED FOR THIS, UNLESS THEY FIND IT WAS THEIR ERROR. I THINK ITS PRETTY OBVIOUS WHAT THEY ARE GOING TO SAY, SO THERE IS NO WAY I CAN TAKE IT BACK TO THE SAME PLACE THAT POSSIBLY SCREWED UP IN THE FIRST PLACE SO THEY CAN CHARGE ME TO TELL ME THEY DID A FINE JOB. WHAT I NEED IS SOMEONE TO CHECK MY CAR TO SEE IF THEY DID THE JOB THEY WERE ACTUALLY SUPPOSED TO DO AND NOT GET CHARGED FOR IT.
I HAVE A 2012 NISSAN VERSA AND AT 51,000 MILES THE TRANSMISSION FAILED AND WILL BE UPWARDS OF $4,500 TO REPAIR. I WENT AND GOT TWO OPTIONS AND BOTH PLACES SAID FAILED TRANSMISSION AND I WENT AND SAW PIECES OF IT IN THE PAN. I'VE HAD THE CAR FOR A YEAR AND A HALF AND BOUGHT IT USED.
The contact owns a 2012 Nissan Versa. The contact stated while driving approximately 25 MPH, the vehicle began to decelerate. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact stated the failure persisted and was getting worse. The contact took the vehicle to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed with needing the transmission to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. Upon investigation, the contact associated the failure with NHTSA Campaign Number: 12V032000 (Power Train) however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 25,000.
I WE T TO HAVE THE SAFETY RECALL FIXED BUT THE DEALERSHIP SAID THAT SOMEONE HAD ALTERED THE HARNESS FOR THE AIRBAG, IT WAS THE FIRST ID HEARD OF IT. THEY SAID ID HAVE TO BUY A BRAND NEW HARNESS FOR THE VEHICLE FOR OVER A THOUSAND DOLLARS , SO I DIDN'T GET THE RECALL FIXED. WENT TO THE PLACE I BOUGHT THE CAR AND THEY SAID THEY WEREN'T LIABLE FOR IT EITHER. JUST WANT TO GET THOSE AIRBAGS OUT OF MY CAR.
MY NISSAN VERSA IS HAVING AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM THAT FUSES HAVE TO BE CHANGED MONTHLY WHEN THE ELECTRICAL ISSUE IS STARTING MY CAR DIES EVEN IF DRIVING AND ENGINE FEELS HEATED SOME PARTS OF ENGINE HAVE DAMAGES LIKE IF THIS IS MELTING DUE ENGINE OVERHEATED AND THERE IS A LEAK AND I JUST CAN'T FIND ANY MECHANIC THAT CAN FIND THE LEAK MY CAR ALSO HAS A SWEAKOING NOISE WHEN DRIVING A BREAKING NOISE WHEN MOVING STEERING WHEEL AND MY SUSPENSIONS PLASTIC PROTECTORS HAVE RIPPED IN SLICES EVEN IF I ALWAYS ADDED LUBRICANT TO IT MY CAR DUE TO THIS ISSUES HAS A CRACKED FRONT WINDSHIELD FOR PASSENGER AND DRIVER FENDERS MOVING
CAR DRIVE WITH NO POWER AND HAS TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AND SUDDENLY THE CAR STOPPED ACCELERATING. WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER BEFORE IT COMPLETELY STOPPED. RPM KEPT SPIKING WHEN THE PEDAL WAS PRESSED AND THE ENGINE HAD A REVVING SOUND, BUT NO MOVEMENT WITH THE CAR. IT COULD GO IN REVERSE, BUT NOT FORWARD.
THE DRIVERS SIDE INTERIOR DOOR HANDLE DOES NOT OPEN DOOR. IN ORDER TO OPEN DOOR TO EXIT CAR AT ALL (MUCH LESS IN AN EMERGENCY) YOU MUST FIRST KEEP CAR RUNNING, THEN ENGAGE POWER DOOR LOCK TO THE UNLOCK POSITION, THEN ROLL DOWN POWER WINDOW ALL THE WAY IN ORDER TO REACH THE EXTERIOR DOOR HANDLE AND PULL OUT AWAY FROM THE CAR. NOTE: THE CAR HAD APPROXIMATELY 59000 MILES ON IT. WHEN NOTIFIED IN MID JUNE 2019, NISSAN CUSTOMER 'ADVOCATE' INSTRUCTED ME TO BRING THE PROBLEM TO CHULA VISTA, CA. DEALER TO VERIFY THE ISSUE, DOCUMENT IT THEN CONTACT THEM WITH THE RESULT. WHEN I DID SO AND EXPLAINED THE SAFETY ISSUE AND THAT I WAS INSTRUCTED TO GO THERE BY NISSAN THE SERVICE MANAGER THERE SAID I'D BE RESPONSIBLE FOR PAYING A $175 'DIAGNOSTIC FEE' SINCE THEY CLAIMED THEY NEEDED TO TAKE OFF THE DOOR PANEL IN ORDER TO ESTIMATE A COST TO REPAIR. WHEN I EXPLAINED THAT I WAS THERE AT THE BEHEST OF NISSAN HE INSISTED I STILL WOULD BE REQUIRED TO PAY THE FEE BUT IN THIS CASE HE WOULD AUTHORIZE IT TO BE CREDITED TOWARD THE ACTUAL COST OF REPAIR SHOULD I CHOOSE TO GO FORWARD WITH THE REPAIR. I WAS AND AM STILL NOT ABLE TO DO SO.. AFTER SEVERAL UNRESPONSIVE ATTEMPTS TO RELAY ALL THIS TO NISSAN I BELIEVE SOME GOVERNMENT ACTION SHOULD BE TAKEN TO FORCE THEM TO TAKE THIS SAFETY ISSUE SERIOUSLY ENOUGH TO PREVENT ANY FORESEEABLE TRAGEDIES.
THE CAR WAS IN A LOW SPEED ACCIDENT UNDER 30 MPH ON THE 14TH STREET BRIDGE IN WASHINGTON D.C. AND THE ENTIRE FRONT OF THE CARS WAS CRUSHED. THE OTHER VEHICLE IN THE CRASH HAD MINOR DAMAGE TO THE REAR CONSISTENT WITH THE SPEED OF THE VEHICLES. ALSO, THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED LATE, SEVERAL SECONDS AFTER THE CRASH WHEN THE OCCUPANTS WERE GETTING OUT OF THE VEHICLE WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY.

BOTH FRONT COIL SPRINGS SNAPPED WHILE BACKING OUT OF A PARKING SPACE WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED FOR 1 WEEK. THERE IS A RECALL FOR THIS EXACT PROBLEM.(RECALL #15V573000) THIS RECALL WAS EXPANDED IN 2017 (RECALL # 17V637000) THE RECALL IS FOR CARS SOLD IN NEW YORK STATE, HOWEVER EVEN THOUGH MY VEHICLE WAS SOLD IN NEW YORK STATE, MY VIN NUMBER WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE RECALL IS FOR THE POSSIBILITY OF ROAD SALT CORRODING THE SPRINGS, CAUSING THEM TO BREAK. THIS CAR IS DRIVEN IN UPSTATE NEW YORK AND THIS IS LIKELY THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM ON MY VEHICLE. I WOULD REQUEST THAT THIS RECALL BE EXPANDED TO INCLUDE VEHICLES MANUFACTURED AT THE SAME TIME AS MY VEHICLE AND SOLD IN NEW YORK STATE.

THE VERSA HAD 70,619 MILES. I HAD THE TRANSMISSION SERVICED ON 2/23/18 AT A TOTAL COST OF $572.93 AT 63,067 MILES. NO PROBLEMS WERE NOTED AT THE TIME OF SERVICE. SHE TOOK THE CAR TO A MECHANIC IN WILKES-BARRE, PA (WHERE SHE HAS BEEN IN COLLEGE FOR THE LAST 2.5 YEARS) AND WAS TOLD THAT BOTH FRONT COIL SPRING HAD RUPTURED IN HER 2012 NISSAN VERSA HATCHBACK. WE HAVE SINCE DISCOVERED THAT THIS EXACT ISSUE ON THIS EXACT VEHICLE IS DAMAGING AND DANGEROUS ENOUGH TO ISSUE THE RECALL REFERRED TO ABOVE. I PROCEEDED TO COMPLETE THE "NISSAN VERSA MODEL YEAR 2012 HATCHBACK FRONT COIL SPRING SAFETY RECALL CAMPAIGN FORM" WITH ALL THE NECESSARY DOCUMENTATION AND SENT IT TO NISSAN AMERICA. I WAS CONTACTED AND TOLD THAT MY VIN NUMBER WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. I REPEATED THE VIN AND THEY ASSURED ME THAT THIS PARTICULAR CAR WAS NOT COVERED IN THIS SAFETY RECALL. THERE IS A CLASS ACTION LAW SUIT AGAINST NISSAN REGARDING THIS AND I HAVE RECENTLY JOINED THAT LAWSUIT.

A DAY LATER I GET A CALL SAYING THAT MY TRANSMISSION IS DONE AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. REPLACED UNDER 37K MILES! PRIOR TO THIS WHEN I WENT TO GET AN ENGINE DIAGNOSIS I WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WERE SEVERAL RECALLS AND UPDATES THAT NEEDED TO BE PERFORMED ON MY CAR. SO BEING WORRIED THAT SOMETHING MIGHT BE WRONG WITH MY CAR I ASKED THE MECHANIC TO THOUROUGHLY CHECK MY VEHICLE. WITH A BILL OF 2500.00 PAID IN APRIL 2018 THREE MONTHS LATER MY MUFFLER BREAKS APART 400.00 REPAIR AND A MONTH AND A HALF AFTER THAT IN SEPT MY TRANSMISSION IS COMPLETELY SHOT AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. WHILE DOING RESEARCH I NOTICED THAT A LOT OF PEOPLE ARE EXPERIENCING THIS TRANSMISSION PROBLEM AFTER THAT MANDATORY UPDATE.
WHILE DRIVING THIS VEHICLE ON A BUSY CITY STREET AT 7:00 AM THE CAR SUDDENLY STOPPED RUNNING AND WOULD NOT RESTART IN THE MIDDLE OF A TRAVEL LANE FOR NO REASON WHAT SO EVER REQUIRING A TOW, WITH OVER HALF A TANK OF GAS, AND PLENTY OF FLUIDS ALL THE WAY AROUND.
