THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD SHAKE WHEN COMING TO A STOP LIGHT AND MADE A LOUD KNOCKING NOISE WHEN IT WAS IN REVERSE. THE FAILURE RECURRED NUMEROUS TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 12V032000 (POWER TRAIN). THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 69,108.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 NISSAN VERSA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH AND ATTEMPTING TO SLOW DOWN, THE CONTACT HEARD A GRINDING NOISE EMERGING FROM THE REAR WHEEL. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO A DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE BRAKES SEIZED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 49,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAIALBLE.
DRIVING IN SAN FRANCISCO IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC THE CAR WILL TAKE A FEW SECONDS TO ACCELERATE WHEN THE GAS IS PRESSED-LONG ENOUGH TO HAVE PEOPLE BEHIND BE HONK-THIS HAS HAPPENED A FEW TIMES.TOOK THE CAR IN AND WAS TOLD THE CAR STARTS IN HIGH GEAR. THEY TRIED TO ADJUST THE CVT A FEW TIMES, BUT THERE IS STILL AN ISSUE WITH THE TRANSMISSION.
WHILE PULLING INTO A PARKING SPACE WITH MY STEERING WHEEL TURNED SHARPLY TO THE LEFT I HEARD A LOUD METAL THUMP IN THE RIGHT FRONT WHEEL WELL. THE NEXT DAY AT THE SERVICE SHOP I WAS TOLD THAT I HAD A BROKEN RIGHT FRONT SPRING THAT HAD COMPROMISED MY STRUT. THE WHOLE REPAIR ENDED UP COSTING ME $749. IT IS IMPORTANT TO NOTE THAT DRIVE A 2012 VERSA WITH ONLY 56,753 MILES ON IT! THERE IS NO WAY THAT THIS SPRING SHOULD HAVE BROKEN! I DIDN'T HIT ANY BUMPS OR POTHOLES, I WAS JUST PULLING INTO A PARKING SPACE. HAD THIS HAPPENED AT HIGHWAY SPEED AND POPPED A TIRE OR SEVERED A BRAKE LINE A SERIOUS ACCIDENT COULD HAVE OCCURRED. THERE IS OBVIOUSLY A DEFECT IN THE SPRINGS THAT ARE BEING USED, NISSAN NEEDS TO SERIOUSLY LOOK INTO THIS ISSUE.
I PURCHASED THIS CAR JULY 2014 WITH ONLY 1,700 MILES. APPROXIMATELY 7 MONTHS INTO DRIVING IT, I'VE BEEN EXPERIENCING A "CLICK" SOUND WHEN I BRAKE, WHETHER I GO SLOW OR FAST AND BRAKE THE CLICK SOUND IS THERE. SOMETIMES I GET A DOUBLE "CLICK" SOUND BEFORE THE CAR STOPS. I HAVE TWO CHILDREN SO I HOPE NOTHING BAD HAPPENS TO US. I CALLED THE DEALER AND LEFT MESSAGES BUT NO ONE IS GETTING BACK TO ME. I MUST BRING THIS CAR IN ASAP. I APPRECIATE ANY INPUT OR CALL BACK FROM A REPRESENTATIVE AT NHTSA.

THE VEHICLE HAD TO BE TOWED TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION MALFUNCTIONED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. WHILE DRIVING AT ABOUT 35 MILES PER HOUR AN P0101 OBDII CODE WAS TRIGGERED. CODE WAS VERIFIED WITH A AUTOXRAY CODESCOUT 2500 OBDII CODE READER. CODE WAS CLEARED. ONE MONTH LATER WHILE DRIVING AT 25 MILES PER HOUR AN ADDITIONAL P0101 OBDDII CODE WAS TRIGGERED. AGAIN CODE WAS VERIFIED WITH SAME MODEL CODE READER. CODE WAS CLEARED AND THE MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR WAS REPLACED WITH AN AFTERMARKET DELPHI SENSOR PART# AF10141 BY A INDEPENDENT CAR MECHANIC. MILEAGE WAS 52300 AT SENSOR CHANGE. OVER THE LIFETIME OF THE VEHICLE NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS WERE MADE TO NISSAN DEALERSHIP MECHANICS AT VAN NUYS NISSAN OF ROUGH IDLE AT SPEEDS BELOW 40 MILES PER HOUR AND IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC. VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE SMOOTHLY AT LOW SPEEDS WHEN PURCHASED. DEALERSHIP WOULD NOT INVESTIGATE OR RESOLVE ISSUE. REPLACEMENT OF MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR CORRECTED CONDITION.
MY AIRBAG LIGHT IS FLASHING, INDICATING THAT IT WOULD NOT DEPLOY IN CASE OF AN ACCIDENT. IS THIS A DESIGN FLAW OR A SYSTEMS MALFUNCTION? I UNDERSTAND THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH NISSAN VERSA YEAR 2012 MODELS.
MY CAR HAS A LITTLE OVER 56,000 MILES ON IT AND SINCE HAVING THIS CAR I HAVE HAD SEVERAL ISSUES WITH THIS CAR. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALER FOR REPAIR OF THE MASS AIR FLOW AND RELATED COMPONENTS ON 3 SEPARATE OCCASIONS. I HAVE HAD 1 CVT TRANSMISSION REPLACEMENT AND KNOWS SEEMS LIKE SOMETHING IS GOING ON WITH THE SUSPENSION. AFTER DOING RESEARCH, I HAVE FOUND SEVERAL COMPLAINTS AND A SERVICE BULLETIN FOR THIS SAME ISSUES WHICH IS SASID TO BE THE SPRING COILS. THIS IS RIDICULOUS TO HAVE THIS MANY ISSUES WITH A CAR THAT IS ONLY 3 YEARS OLD AND LESS THAN 60,000 MILES ON IT. NISSAN NEEDS TO OFFER EVERY CUSTOMERS THAT OWNS THIS CAR A REPLACEMENT CAR.SERIOUSLY!!! NOT TO MENTION ALL THE OTHER RECALLS THAT NEVER GET ASSOCIATED WITH YOUR VIN BUT, STILL HAS THE ISSUES.
MY CAR WILL NOT MOVE WHEN THE GAS IS PRESSED, IT STUTTERS AND VIBRATES THEN JERKS. THE TRANSMISSION CATCHES THEN RPM HIT 7500 VERY UNSAFE. THIS HAPPENS EVERY TIME I STOP AND GO. TOOK IT TO NISSAN THEY SAID THAT THEY COULD NOT REPLICATE THE PROBLEM THEREFORE COULD NOT FIX IT. THIS IS ( BS ) CAUSE IT HAPPENS ALL THE TIME. ALSO WHEN I TURN MY STEERING WHEEL I FEEL SOMETHING MOVING AND HEAR POPPING NOISE ON THE DRIVER SIDE FLOOR BOARD. *TR
VEHICLE NOT IN MOTION HITTED IN THE BACK WHILE PARKED , ANOTHER TIME IN MOTION LEFT DOOR. TRY TO CONTACT SEVERAL DEALERS TO SCHEDULE APPOINTMENTS FOR THE RECALL THEY NEVER CONTACTED ME BACK , WAITING TIME WAS EXTREMELY LONG AND SCHEDULES UNAVAILABLE
I BOUGHT MY CAR BRAND NEW WITH 18 MILES ON IT. AT APPROXIMATELY 25K I WAS DOING A FLUID CHECK ON MY VEHICLE BECAUSE WHILE DRIVING THE CAR STUTTER WHILE ACCELERATING. WHEN I POPPED THE HOOD OPEN I NOTICED THE MY COOLANT RESERVOIR TANK WAS BONE DRY. I FOUND SOME COOLANT IN MY GARAGE AND IMMEDIATELY ADDED IT TO THE RESERVOIR TO GET IT DOWN TO THE DEALERSHIP WITH NO ISSUE. THE FOLLOWING DAY I BROUGHT IT INTO THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS TRYING TO EXPLAIN MY SITUATION. THE SERVICE TECH LOOKED AT THE CAR AND KEPT SAYING THAT THE TANK WAS FULL AND THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH IT EVEN THOUGH I EXPLAINED THAT I ADDED SOME TO GET IT THERE. THEY FINALLY TOOK MY CAR BACK AND HAD IT FOR 2 DAYS. WHEN I CAME DOWN TO PICK IT UP THAT SAID THEY COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH IT. THEY SAID THEY PRESSURE TESTED THE COOLING SYSTEM AND FOUND NO LEEKS AND TOLD ME I WAS IMAGING THING AS FAR AS THE STUTTER WITH MY TRANNY. AT APPROXIMATELY 32K AGAIN I WAS LOW (1/4 FULL) ON COOLANT AND THE STUTTER STILLED HAPPENED INTERMITTINGLY. AGAIN I TOOK IT DOWN TO THE DEALERSHIP. THEY HAD IT FOR ABOUT 2 DAYS AND WHEN I GOT IT BACK THEY TOLD ME THE SAME THING. AT APPROX. 38K THE STUTTERING HAD GOTTEN WORSE AND THERE WOULD BE TIMES THAT ID PRESS THE ACCELERATOR AND NOTHING WOULD HAPPEN FOR ABOUT 5-10 SECONDS. I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR THE TRANNY ONLY THIS TIME. AND THEY TOLD ME WITH OUT THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMING ON THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO FOR MY CAR EVEN THOUGH IT WAS UNDER WARRANTY. I HAVE ALMOST BEEN IN A COUPE ACCIDENTS BECAUSE THE TRANNY WOULD NOT RESPOND WHILE PRESSING THE ACCELERATOR.
WAS STOPPING FOR A RED LIGHT WHEN M FOOT GOT CAUGHT IN THE DOOR TRIM BY THE BRAKE PEDAL AND THE CAR STARTED TO ACCELERATE AND I ALMOST RUN THROUGH THE RED LIGHT BEFORE I COULD GET MY FOOT OUT TO BRAKE. *TR

THE HEADLIGHTS WERE REPLACED THREE TIMES WITHIN THE PAST TWO YEARS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 79,000.
MY WIFE AND I WERE TRAVELING ON BANGERTER HIGHWAY IN SOUTH JORDAN, UTAH. FOR SOME REASON, THERE WAS A LATCH FAILURE ON THE HOOD OF THE CAR. THERE HAD BEEN NO WARNING, NO RATTLING OF THE HOOD, NO SHAKING ETC. THE HOOD SIMPLY FLEW UP AND SMASHED INTO THE FRONT WINDSHIELD. THIS LEFT ME (I WAS DRIVING) WITH NO FRONTAL VISION. I WAS ABLE TO PULL OFF THE HIGHWAY SAFELY; BUT I DO NOT KNOW HOW I DID THAT. THE WINDSHIELD WAS SHATTERED (GLASS SHARDS ALL OVER US), THE HINGES ON THE HOOD BENT AND CAUSED A GASH IN THE FENDER ON EACH SIDE, THE HOOD WAS DENTED, AND THE TOP OF THE CAR NEAR THE WINDSHIELD WAS ALSO DENTED. I CAN NOT DETERMINE ANYTHING I COULD HAVE DONE DIFFERENTLY WHICH WOULD HAVE SAVED ME THIS AWFUL SITUATION. *TR

THE CONTACT SUSTAINED CHIN AND NECK INJURIES THAT DID NOT REQUIRE MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE FRONT PASSENGER SUSTAINED SEAT BELT BRUISING AND CHEST PAIN THAT DID NOT REQUIRE MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 23,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 NISSAN VERSA. WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY AT APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH, THE RPM GAUGE INCREASED ABNORMALLY TO APPROXIMATELY 4,000-5,000 AND THE VEHICLE JERKED. IN ADDITION, WHILE IDLING AT A STOP LIGHT, THE RPM GAUGE INCREASED TO 4,000 BEFORE THE VEHICLE BECAME OPERABLE AGAIN. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE REPLICATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 69,670.

PURCHASED NEW FROM NISSAN DEALER. 35 MONTHS LATER, JUST AROUND 40,000 MILES, NOTICE JERKY MOVEMENTS FORWARD AND BACKWARDS AT FREEWAY AT APPROX 60MPH. TOOK TO DEALER SERVICE DEPT AND NOTHING FOUND. HAPPENING MORE FREQUENTLY AND AT LOWER SPEEDS TOO. RETURNED 8 WEEKS LATER AND WAS TOLD IT WAS THE CVT TRANSMISSION. WAS TOLD REPLACED BY NEW ONE. 4 DAYS LATER CAR STARTED BUT WOULD NOT MOVE FORWARD. HAD TO HAVE TOWED AND WAS TOLD THE NEW TRANSMISSION NEEDED REPLACING AGAIN. BOTH REPAIRS COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. CONCERNED THIS MAY HAPPEN AGAIN AND BE DANGEROUS ON FREEWAY OR BE RIGHT AFTER WARRANTY IS OVER AND BE COSTLY. READ LOTS OF PROBLEMS WITH CVT TRANSMISSIONS. THIS CAR IS NOT DRIVEN IN HARSH CONDITIONS OR STOP AND GO TRAFFIC SO VERY CONCERNING.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 NISSAN VERSA. WHILE THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY, A SECOND VEHICLE TRAVELING AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED CRASHED INTO THE REAR BUMPER. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE WAS PUSHED INTO THE REAR OF A THIRD VEHICLE CAUSING SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE TO THE FRONT END OF THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE. THE CONTACT INDICATED THAT DURING THE INCIDENT THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY AND THE SEAT BELTS MALFUNCTIONED. THE DRIVER SUFFERED A CONTUSION TO THE FOREHEAD AFTER MAKING CONTACT WITH THE STEERING WHEEL., BUT MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS NOT REQUIRED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED AND THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 3,961.

DRIVING HOME FROM GROCERY STORE DURING DAYLIGHT HOURS, ENGINE CHECK LIGHT CAME ON. I WENT TO MEINEKE TO HAVE CODE DETERMINED. STORE MANAGER CHECKED MY CAR FOR CODE, HE FOUND CODE IS 007 AND IT WILL COST ME OVER $400 TO REPAIR. I SHOULD NOT DRIVE THE AUTO UNTIL IT GETS REPAIRED. THIS PART SHOULD NOT BE AN ISSUE WITH LOW MILEAGE AND AGE OF VEHICLE! HE SAID CAR WILL DISABLE IF I DRIVE IT BECAUSE IT IS DANGEROUS IF IT DISABLES WHILE DRIVING! I HAVE DRS APPTS TO GO TO AND CANNOT BE WITHOUT BEING ABLE TO DRIVE IT! IS THIS A RECALL FOR THIS PART? IF I DRIVE ON THE FREEWAY AND I DIABLES, I WILL BE IN A DANGEROUS SITUATION AND I HAVE AN 18 MONTH OLD BABY IN HER CAR SEAT IF I GET REAR ENDED, SHE COULD BE KILLED! *TR

2012 NISSAN VERSA SV 4 DOOR SEDAN WITH CVT TRANSMISSION. VEHICLE IS JERKING WHEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE OVER 65 MPH. RPM GAUGE WILL BOUNCE FROM 3000-4000 WHILE THE VEHICLE IS SHUDDERING. THIS VEHICLE HAS HAD MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE CVT TRANSMISSION SINCE 2007 AND NISSAN STILL HAS NOT DONE ANYTHING TO RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. A RECALL SHOULD BE ISSUED SINCE THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN THE TRANSMISSION WILL FINALLY BREAKDOWN. THE TRANSMISSION COMPLETELY WENT OUT OF THE CAR. IT WOULD SLOW DOWN, I HAD TO STOP, TURN IT OFF, WAIT, TURN IT BACK ON, DRIVE A LITTLE BIT, REPEAT. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH THIS CAR AND THE CVT TRANSMISSION SYSTEMS, YET NO RECALL HAS BEEN ISSUED TO DATE. WHEN YOU BUY A NEW CAR, THE KNOWN ISSUES AREN'T OUT YET BECAUSE THERE HASN'T BEEN TIME ENOUGH TO GATHER ANY STATISTICS. THE DEALERSHIP NOR NISSAN CORPORATION WAS WILLING TO ASSIST US. WE PROVIDED SERVICE RECORDS AND THEY DEEMED THEM 'INSUFFICIENT' BECAUSE THE SERVICE WAS NOT PERFORMED THROUGH NISSAN. HOWEVER, IT IS NOT MANDATED THAT OIL CHANGES AND TIRE ROTATIONS BE COMPLETED AT THEIR SITE. THEY ALSO STATED THAT THE OIL PUT INTO THE CAR MIGHT NOT BE MADE FOR A NISSAN VEHICLE. THIS IS THE FIRST TIME IN MY LIFE I'VE EVER HEARD OF AN OIL BEING MADE FOR A SPECIFIC BRAND OF CAR. THE TRANSMISSION WASN'T DUE TO BE SERVICED UNTIL BETWEEN 60,000 AND 70,000 MILES, AND WE HAD JUST TURNED 60,000 THE WEEK BEFORE. PLUS, ENGINE OIL HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH A TRANSMISSION, IT HAS TO DO WITH THE ENGINE. WE ARE STILL MAKING PAYMENTS ON THE CAR. IF WE PAY OUT OF POCKET FOR THE REPAIRS, AND ADD TO WHAT WE STILL OWE, NOW THE CAR COSTS MORE THAN WHAT WE BOUGHT IT FOR BRAND NEW. WHEN DRIVING FOR ABOUT AN HOUR, IF YOU STOP AT A TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICE, ONCE YOU TRY TO ACCELERATE, THE CAR WILL NOT MOVE. EVEN IF YOU HOLD THE GAS PEDAL TO THE FLOOR, THE CAR WILL NOT GO. ONCE IT DOES "CATCH", THE RPM'S HIT ABOUT 7000 OR 8000 AND WHEN YOU LET OFF THE PEDAL THE CAR JERKS HARD AND GOES INTO "LIMP MODE". IT DID THIS SEVENTEEN (17) TIMES AND 6 OF THEM WERE ON THE INTERSTATE IN HEAVY TRAFFIC. I ALMOST GOT REAR ENDED BY A CAR COMING UP BEHIND ME BECAUSE I COULDN'T MOVE THE CAR OUT OF THE ROAD IN TIME. I HAD TO SHUT THE CAR OFF, WAIT A FEW SECONDS AND TURN IT BACK ON TO GET IT TO MOVE AND EVEN THEN IT STAYED IN LIMP MODE SO I WAS STUCK IN FIRST (1ST) GEAR. THIS HAS HAPPENED EVERY DAY UNTIL I FINALLY TOOK IT INTO THE SHOP AND THEY SAID IT WAS THE TRANSMISSION. COMING FROM AN AEMT, THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION AND NEEDS TO BE RESOLVED WITH NISSAN AND THEIR CVT TRANSMISSIONS. *TR
FAILING INSPECTION 2 YEARS IN A ROW DUE TO NON-COMMUNICATING OBD SENSOR . FIRST YEAR NISSAN DEALERSHIP "FIXED THE PROBLEM. THIS YEAR A LOCAL SHOP FIXED IT AND STATED THAT MANY OF THE GROUNDS WERE LOOSE. THE SHOP WENT THOUGH ALL OF THE GROUNDS IN THE CAR. IN ORDER FOR THE OBD TO START COMMUNICATING AGAIN.
