The contact owns a 2013 Nissan Versa. The contact stated that while reversing at 2 MPH, the contact heard an abnormal noise coming from the engine. The contact also stated that the vehicle was hesitant to accelerate when driving at various speeds which caused the vehicle to jerk. The brake warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the failure was due to a passenger-side lower control arm bushing being separated from the control arm. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

MUFFLER CLAMP GOT RUSTED OUT AND BROKEN. THIS IS MADE OUT OF STAINLESS STEEL WHICH GOT RUSTED WHERE AS REMAINING MUFFLER IS RUST PROOF.
HOOD LATCH FAILED, HOOD POPPED OPEN WHILE DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY ABOUT 45-50 MPH, CAUSING DAMAGE TO BOTH FRONT FENDERS & HOOD BRACKETS
RECALL 15V507000 HAS NEVER BEEN DONE ON MY V ERSA. IF IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE IT SHOULD BE FIXED. NISSAN IS BEING ALLOWED TO GET AWAY WITH FAILIGNJ TO FIX SAFETY PROBLEM SON CALLS. I FIND THAT NHTSA IS NOT FINING NISSAN FOR FAILURE TO FIX SAFETY ISSUES IN CAS. THEY LET CAR PROFITEERS GET AWAY WITH THE SAFETY PROBLEM ON CARS UNTIL PEOPLE DIE. THAT IS FAR TOO LONG AND TOO WRONG. I DO NOT THINK CONGRESS MEANT FORNHTSA TO DO NOTHING BUNTIL PEOPLE DIE.
HOOD LATCH FAILED WHILE DRIVING ON FREEWAY AT ABOUT 70 MPH. THE HOOD FLEW UP INTO WINDSHIELD BLOCKING ALL VISION AND DAMAGING THE HOOD, THE ROOF, THE SIDE PANELS NEAR THE HOOD ANCHORS AND CRACKED THE WINDSHIELD.
THIS IS AN EVENT SIMILAR TO ODI RESUME (PE 14-018) OPENED ON 06/24/2014 BY THE NATIONAL HIGHWAY TRAFFIC SAFETY ADMINISTRATION. SIMILAR TO COMPLAINANT, VOQ 10597004, MY FOOT WAS TRAPPED BY THE TRIM PANEL. PANEL IS LOCATED NEXT TO THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL AND THE LOWER CORNER IS POSITIONED SUCH THAT IT IS NEAR THE RIGHT OUTER EDGE OF THE DRIVER'S SHOE. ALSO SIMILAR TO COMPLAINANT 10573057, WHEN ATTEMPTING TO REMOVE MY FOOT FROM THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL TO APPLY THE BRAKE, MY SHOE WAS CAUGHT BY THE TRIM PANEL WHICH DELAYED BRAKING ABILITY SEVERAL TIMES. IT IS IMPORTANT TO NOTE THAT THIS VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED FROM A RENTAL FACILITY, ENTERPRISE CAR SALES IN ELMWOOD PARK, NJ. VEHICLE WEIGHT FOR THE 2013 NISAN VERSA MODEL YEAR WAS SUBSTANTIALLY REDUCED VS PREVIOUS YEARS MODELS. VEHICLE IS SUBJECT TO CROSS WINDS / GUSTS (GREATER THAN 5 MPH) AT DRIVING SPEEDS GREATER THAN 40 MPH UNDER GOOD ROAD AND WEATHER CONDITIONS. SUGGEST THAT NISSAN ISSUE A WRITTEN ADVISORY TO ITS CUSTOMERS, AND/OR REDESIGN THE VERSA MODEL SO IT'S MORE STABLE DURING WINDY CONDITIONS. *TR
I WAS STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT IN THE LEFT TURN LANE AND WAS CHANGING RADIO STATIONS. I LOOKED UP AND NOTICED THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME WAS ALREADY GOING THROUGH THE INTERSECTION, SO I PUT MY FOOT ON THE GAS PEDAL AND ACCELERATED QUICKLY. AS I APPROACHED THE INTERSECTION (STOP LINE) I ATTEMPTED TO REMOVE MY FOOT FROM THE GAS PEDAL, BUT COULD NOT, BECAUSE MY FOOT WAS STUCK. I USED MY RIGHT HAND TO GRAB MY LEG, AND PULLED HARDER, IMMEDIATELY BRAKING HARD, THEN BACKING MY FOOT OF THE BRAKE AS I SQUEALED AND SKIDDED AROUND THE CORNER, ALMOST GOING OVER THE CURB AND CRASHING. AFTER PARKING THE CAR IN A SAFE SPOT, I INSPECTED THE GAS PEDAL AREA TO DETERMINE WHAT HAPPENED. THE PLASTIC PIECE THAT COVERS THE CENTER CONSOLE EXTENDS AROUND TO JUST NEXT TO THE GAS PEDAL. IT ATTACHED WITH A PLASTIC PRESS FIT LOCK SEVERAL INCHES FROM THE EDGE, LEAVING THE EDGE UNSECURED. THE CORNER OF THAT PLASTIC PANEL WEDGED BETWEEN THE SOLE AND LEATHER UPPER OF MY WORK BOOTS, PREVENTING ME FROM TAKING MY FOOT OFF THE GAS PEDAL. *TR ... UPDATED 03/19/15*BF UPDATED 6/18/2015 *JS
THEY WINDOW SHADES IN THE FRONT ARE TINY. THEY DO NOT KEEP OUT THE SUN. THEY LET ALL THE SUN ENTER THE CAR SO THAT YOU CANNOT SEE WHEN DRIVING. THEY WENT CHEAP ON THE WINDOW SHADES IN THE FRONT. THEY DON'T PROTECT THE DRIVER. THEY ARE TINY TINY TINY AND I GUESS COST 25 CENTS TO MAKE. THIS IS A CHEAP CAR, BUT SAFETY THINGS MUST BE FAIR FOR THE DRIVERS PROTECTION. *TR
HEAT SHIELDS- UNDERCARRIAGE VIBRATE, MAKE ALL SORTS OF NOISE, THEN CRACK AT BOLTS WHERE MOUNTED AND HAVE TO BE REPLACED. THIS WAS DONE ON MY VEHICLE AND UNLESS CORRECTED WILL BE A CONTINUAL PROBLEM. ALSO, THE PLASTIC, POORLY MADE, AIR INTAKE AT AND NEAR AIR BREATHER VIBRATE AND CLATTER TERRIBLY! THIS CAR HAS MORE UNDERCARRIAGE AND ENGINE COMPARTMENT NOISE THAN ANY VEHICLE I'VE OWNED. I MIGHT ALSO ADD THE ENGINE HAS VALVE TICK, WHICH DOES NOT SEEM TO SHOW IT'S UGLY HEAD WHEN AT THE DEALERSHIP.
FRONT DOORS LEAK AIR INTO THE CABIN VERY BAD. HAVE TAKEN THE CAR BACK TO THE DEALER THREE TIMES COMPLAINING. THEY FINALLY SAID THAT ALL NISSAN VERSAS HAVE THIS ISSUE. WHILE TRAVELING ON THE INTERSTATE AND COLD OR RAINING OUTSIDE THE COLD AIR LEAKING INTO THE CABIN CAUSES THE DOOR WINDOWS TO FOG TO A POINT YOU CAN'T SEE TO CHANGE LANES.
