MY CVT TRANSMISSION WENT OUT ON MY VEHICLE WHICH IS 7 YEARS OLD, AND HAS 124,XXX MILES ON IT. THE MORE I READ ONLINE THAT THIS ISSUE IS COMMON, WITH SIGNIFICANTLY LESS MILES ON IT. MY CAR WOULD OFTEN SHAKE OR VIGOROUSLY VIBRATE, AND HAD THE TRANSMISSION GO OUT WHILE DRIVING ON A BUSY HIGHWAY.
I WAS DRIVING ABOUT 30 MILES/HOUR, THERE WAS A SOUND AND THE CAR SHUT DOWN, ENGINE STOPPED, LOST POWER STEERING AND BRAKE BECAME HEAVY, NO LIGHTS IN SPEEDOMETER AND INDICATORS WENT OFF/BLACK SCREEN. BRAKES WERE SOFT BUT I WAS ABLE TO STOP. I RESTARTED THE ENGINE AND I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE. THEN I WAS ON A FREEWAY ABOUT 20 MIN LATER, DRIVING 65 MILES/HOUR AND THE CAR MADE A BIG NOISE, SHOOK AS IF I DROVE ON A POTHOLE, AND IT WAS THE SAME THING. NO ENGINE, ACCELERATOR DIDN'T WORK, I WAS COASTING, LOST POWER STEERING, AND HARD TO PUSH DOWN BREAKS. POWER IN THE PANELS WERE OFF. I WAS ABLE TO USE EMERGENCY SIGNAL, PULLED OVER EVENTUALLY AND WAITED FOR ABOUT 3-4 MIN. BEFORE RESTARTING THE CAR. IT WORKED AGAIN AND I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE. THE SAME THING HAPPENED LAST YEAR, AND TODAY IT HAPPENED TWICE. BOTH TIMES, IT WAS A HOT DAY.
MY 2014 NISSAN VERSA BEGAN HAVING ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS TODAY AT 3:15PM. MY BLINKERS ARE COMING ON WHEN I TURN THE HEAD LIGHTS ON AND THE BRIGHT LIGHT SWITCH TURNS ON WITH THE BLINKER AND IS NOT ON BRIGHT LIGHT MODE. WHEN I TURN THE LIGHTS OFF THE INNER LIGHTS AROUND THE INSIDE PANELS OF SPEEDOMETER AND OTHER COME ON LIKE THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO WHEN HEADLIGHTS ARE ON NOT OFF. WHEN I TURN THEM OFF THE INNER LIGHTS GO OFF AROUND THE SPEEDOMETER. WHOLE HEADLIGHT BLINKER SYSTEM STARTED GOING CRAZY WHEN I WAS AT SONIC BEGAN IN REVERSE TO PULL OUT AND CONTINUED IN DRIVE TO A SAFE PARKING LOT CONTINUED IN PARK AND WHILE DRIVING ON CITY STREETS. IT ALL BEGAN WITH AN EXTENDED WARRANTY PHONE CALL ABOUT AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS WITH MY CAR. I WENT TO MY JOB INTERVIEW THEN TOOK IT STRAIGHT TO THE DEALERSHIP I'M PURCHASING IT FROM LOYDS USED AUTOMOTIVE WHERE THEY SENT ME TO CHAPMAN'S AUTOMOTIVE THESE PLACES ARE LOCATED IN HOT SPRINGS ARKANSAS WHERE ALL OF THIS OCCURRED. I LATER TRIED TO CALL THE WARRANTY PHONE NUMBER BACK AND IT SAID NOBODY WAS AVAILABLE TO TAKE MY CALL.
TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED AT 101000 MILES, THE NEW TRANSMISSION FAILED AT 109000 MILES. NISSAN WILL NOT REPAIR IT AGAIN. THE FIRST TRANSMISSION HAD PROBLEMS SHIFTING TO HIGHER GEARS. THE SECOND TRANSMISSION FAILED AFTER BACKING OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY. IT WOULD NOT MOVE FORWARD.
AFTER HAVING THE TRANSMISSION RECALL UPDATE PERFORMED BY NISSAN THE TRANSMISSION IS HAVING ISSUES WITH SHIFTING. I HAVE TO LET OFF OF THE ACCELERATOR FOR THE TRANSMISSION TO DOWNSHIFT. I CONTACTED NISSAN AND THEY MADE A CASE AND SAID I WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR THEM TO FIX THE PROBLEM EVEN THOUGH THEY KNEW OF THE ISSUES WITH THE TRANSMISSION.
THE CAR DOESN'T ACCELERATE WHEN TAKING OFF SOMETIME. IT SOMETIMES WIIL NOT GO OVER 40 MPH. ITS CODING A INPUT SPEED SENSOR INSIDE OF THE TRANSMISSION
THERE'S BEEN A RECALL ON NISSAN VERSA NOTE TRANSMISSIONS AND I WAS JUST RECENTLY INFORMED THAT IT INCLUDED MY TRANSMISSION AND NISSAN DOESN'T WANT TO REPLACE IT.
I WAS BACKING OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY, AND NOTICED THAT THE VEHICLE STARTED LOSING POWER AND STEERING. THE VEHICLE THEN SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING. AFTER THIS INCIDENT, I PARKED THE CAR, AND IT STOPPED RESPONDING AND WOULD NO LONGER TURN ON.
TRANSMISSION SHUTTERS. ALSO HESITATES WHEN TAKING OFF OR SLOW WHEN TAKING OFF WITCH CAN LEAD TO A ACCIDENT. THESE TRANSMISSIONS FAIL TOO OFTEN. NISSAN HAS NOT OFFERED A UPGRADE TO THE PROBLEM. THEY WIND UP PUTTING ONE DEFECTIVE TRANNY AFTER ANOTHER
NISSAN VERSA IS TUGGING/MISFIRING DURING NORMAL DRIVING. THE TRANSMISSION DOES NOT SHIFT PROPERLY, RPM GETS STUCK AT AROUND 3500-4500 AT ABOUT 35-40 MPH. ONCE UNSTUCK, THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTS HARD LIKE A CRUNCHING SOUND, WHICH SOUNDS LIKE METAL GRINDING METAL, NOT PROPERLY ENGAGING SHIFTING. THE MILEAGE IS CURRENTLY AT 90K. THE ISSUE STARTED AROUND A MONTH AGO. THE ISSUE HAS GOTTEN TO THE POINT THAT THE VEHICLE IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE.
MY VEHICLE SHUTS OFF ON ME WHEN DRIVING AND IT HAPPENS SPORADICALLY. DRIVING ON CITY STREET LOSS ACCELERATION WHEEL LOCKS.
TRANSMISSION HAS PROBLEMS SHIFTING FROM 2ND TO 3RD GEAR
I BOUGHT THIS 2014 NISSAN VERSA NOTE BRAND NEW FOR MY DAUGHTER. WHEN I PURCHASED THIS CAR I WAS TOLD THAT IT HAS A LIFETIME WARRANTY ON THE ENGINE AND POWER TRAIN. AFTER 6 YEARS THE CAR STARTED TO GIVE US A PROBLEM WITH THE POWERTRAIN. IT WON'T CHANGE THE GEAR, TAKES OFF IS SLOW, LOSES POWER, AND MAKING NOISE.I HAVE NO MONEY TO GET IT FIXED , THEREFORE NISSAN SHOULD STEP UP AND FIX THE ISSUE.THE DEALER I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE FROM IS OUT OF BUSINESS.
NEVER HAD ISSUES UNTIL NOW BUT I'VE BEEN RANDOMLY HAVING ISSUES WITH MY POWER STEERING LOCKING UP ON ME. IT'S A REAL DANGEROUS SAFETY HAZARD BECAUSE ONE MINUTE IT'S NORMAL AND DRIVABLE. THEN I MAY GET BACK IN THE CAR AND IT'S LOCKING UP AGAIN. I DON'T HAVE A REGULAR POWER STEERING PUMP,BECAUSE MY CAR RUNS OFF ELECTRIC POWER STEERING. I JUST REALLY NEED HELP FIGURING OUT THE SOURCE OF THIS ISSUE.
A RECALL JOB, TRANSMISSION COMPUTER UPGRADE, WAS COMPLETED BY TRACY NISSAN DEALERSHIP AND NOW MY NISSAN VERSA WILL GO NO FASTER THAN 10 MPH. NO INDICATIONS OF TRANSMISSION FAILURE WERE DISPLAYED UPON COMPLETION OF THE RECALL CORRECTION. THIS CAR IS ONLY SIX YEARS OLD WITH APPROXIMATELY 102,640 MILES. A COMPLAINT HAS BEEN LOGGED WITH NISSAN, BUT MY EFFORTS HAVE BEEN INEFFECTIVE THUS FAR. THE CAR WAS DRIVEN TO THE TRACY NISSAN DEALERSHIP ON 10/20/2020 AND KEPT OVER NIGHT. ON 10/21/2020, THE RECALL WAS COMPLETE AND THE NISSAN WAS DRIVEN AWAY. LESS THAN 20 MINUTES LATER, THE TRANSMISSION EXPERIENCED A CATASTROPHIC FAILURE WHILE DRIVEN ON THE FREEWAY. THE CAR WOULD GO NO FASTER THAN 10 MPH. ON THE SAME DATE, 10/21/2020, THE NISSAN WAS TOWED BACK, AT MY EXPENSE, TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE IT IS CURRENTLY LOCATED PENDING DISCISSIONS WITH NISSAN.
VERSA TRANSMISSION STARTED TO MALFUNCTIONING AT AROUND 84,000 MILES AND NOT CODE ON DASHBOARD. CALLED NISSAN FOR WARRANTY BUT THEY SAID NOT IN WARRANTY MILES ANYMORE. I THINK NISSAN SHOULD WARM BUYER AND DRIVERS ABOUT TRANSMISSION PROBLEM WITH DASHBOARD INDICATIONS.
Regarding my 2014 Nissan Versa Note, with "continuous variable (cone shaped) transmission": I first noticed the transmission issue beginning October of 2020. When accelerating quickly, it feels like the transmission FREEZES, so I back off the accelerator and it usually kicks back into gear. When my husband first experienced it, he told me to shift to neutral and back to drive which seems to work; however being on a public thoroughfare and manually shifting gears to keep moving forward seems like a MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE. I have read several posts regarding this same issue. MY QUESTION IS: Why hasn't this American/Japanese automobile conglomerate addressed this SAFETY ISSUE WITH A TRANSMISSION RECALL?
MY NISSAN VERSA 2014 HAD TO HAVE THE TRANSMISSION REPLACED WITH ONLY A LITTLE OVER 80,000 MILE'S ON IT. AFTER RESEARCH THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE FOR NISSAN CRV TRANSMISSIONS FOR VEHICLES INCLUDING MY MAKE AND MODEL. THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION AT THE TIME OF THE ISSUE ON A SECONDARY ROADWAY.
CAR NEEDS A NEW TRANSMISSION. SUDDENLY STALLED WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON THE STREET.
GEARSHIFT WILL NOT COME OUT OF PARK, HAVE TO MANUALLY UNLOCK THE GEARSHIFT WITH A PAPER CLIP; CAR WILL NOT ACCELERATE CORRELATIONAL TO THE GAS PEDAL, AND THE RPMS GO REALLY HIGH ON INCLINES/HILLS...NISSAN SAYING NOT RESPONSIBLE/NO RECALLS, BUT I'M STILL GETTING 'CLAIMS NOTICES' FROM GM ECONOMIC SETTLEMENT CLAIMS CENTER...THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP TOLD ME TO "DISREGARD" THE NOTICES COMING IN THE MAIL....
THE TRANSMISSION FAILED IN MY 2014 NISSAN VERSA NOTE BECAUSE OF THEIR DESIGN ISSUE AND I PAID OUT OF POCKET TO FIX IT AND REPLACED IT AT NISSAN DEALERSHIP MAY THE 15TH AND YESTERDAY JULY 29TH AT 7PM THIS SECOND TRANSMISSION FAILED EXTREMELY ANOTHER TIME WHEN I WAS EXITING THE HIGHWAY IN SIOUX FALLS SD AND I ALMOST KILLED BY FAST TRAFFIC BECAUSE MY CAR WASN'T ACCELERATING AND MY FOOT WAS ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR AND NO POWER SO I STOPPED THE CAR AND I WAS PRAYING NO ONE WILL KILL ME IN THAT VERY FAST TRAFFIC SINCE I WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD AND THEY COULDN'T LET ME PULL OVER WHEN I STARTED EXPERIENCING THE ISSUE SO I TURNED OFF THE CAR AND I RESTARTED IT AFTER 20 MIN AND WHILE I WAS WAITING FOR THE CAR TO COOL DOWN I WAS CALLING SIOUX FALLS POLICE DEPARTMENT BUT UNFORTUNATELY NO ANSWER AFTER A WAIT OF 15MIN . THE CAR IS STILL UNDER WARRANTY FOR THE SECOND TRANSMISSION BUT I RETURNED IT 3 TIMES TO THEM AND THEY CLAIMED THERE IS NO ISSUE IN THE REPORTS. BUT AI LEGALLY RECORDED THEM CONFIRMING THE ISSUE WHEN THEY WERE TEST DRIVING IT AND I TOOK IT TO ANOTHER TRANSMISSION REPAIR SHOP AND THEY CONFIRMED THERE IS AN ISSUE
SPECIFICALLY, MY TRANSMISSION IS STARTING TO GO BAD AND WILL NEED REPLACING. THE COST IS 3200. IN ADDITION THE CAR IS A 2014 NISSAN VERSA 130,000 MILES. I FEEL AFTER READING MY COMPLAINTS ON LINE ABOUT THIS FAULTY TRANSMISSION THAT NISSAN CONTINUED TO INSTALL ON MANY VEHICLES AND ENDANGERING THE OWNERS LIVES NISSAN SHOULD EITHER RECALL MY CAR OR REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION AT THEIR COST .
VEHICLE HAS STARTED TO LOSE ACCELERATION POWER. STARTED HESITATING TO ACCELERATE AND TOOK LONG TO SHIFT (THIS IS AN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION) GOT ON THE INTERSTATE AND CAR STARTED JERKING AND WOULD NOT GO PAST 10-15 MPH. PULLED OVER, BROUGHT GEARS BACK DOWN TO THE PARK POSITION, BUT THAT ONLY MADE IT WORSE. CAR WOULD NOT SHIFT INTO GEAR AND HAS BEEN STUCK NOW FOR A WEEK. STARTED RESEARCH ON VEHICLE AND LEARNED MANY OTHER VEHICLES WITHIN THIS CLASS ARE EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBLEM. NISSAN DEALERSHIP HAS TOLD ME THAT THEY ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE AND WILL NOT FIX. WHY NOT?? THEY APPARENTLY BUILT A FAULTY VEHICLE. THEY SHOULD FIX THE PROBLEM. LOOKS LIKE I'LL BE GETTING A LAWYER.
DRIVING ON CITY ROAD AT ABOUT 40 MPH GOING OVER BRIDGE, AND CAR JUST SHUT OFF IN MIDDLE OF DRIVING. CARS HAD TO SWERVE TO AVOID HITTING ME. ALMOST GOT HIT A COUPLE TIMES. STUCK IN MIDDLE OF A BUSY ROAD.THE CAR HAS 61,000 MILES ON IT. REGULARLY OIL CHANGES AND SERVICED. THERE WAS NO WARNING LIGHTS OR WARNINGS BEFOREHAND THAT PREPARED ME FOR THE INCIDENT. CHECKED BATTERY CONNECTIONS AND TRIED TO RESTART, NO STARTUP. HAD TO CAR A TOW TRUCK TO GET IT TOWED TO HOME, THEN TO NISSAN DEALERSHIP IN MY AREA. THE NISSAN SERVICE IN MY AREA HAS BEEN TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHAT THE ISSUE IS, AND THEY HAVE NO IDEA.
SINCE PURCHASING THE CAR IN 2014. I HAD THE BODY THROTTLE REPLACED, THE FAN ON THE AC. NOW THE ELECTRICAL MOTORS FOR THE DOORS TO LOCK AND UNLOCK IS GOING OUT. I TRULY FEEL WHEN I PURCHASED THIS CAR IT WAS A LEMON. BECAUSE I HAD ONLY HAD THE CAR FOR A COUPLE OF YEARS WHEN THE DEALERSHIP HAD TO REPLACE THE THROTTLE BODY AND SHORTY THEREAFTER, THE DEALERSHIP HAD TO REPLACE THE FAN ON THE AC. NOW ON 23 FEB 2020. I AM ON MY WAY TO CHURCH WHEN I NOTICE THIS LOUD NOISE AND NOW I'VE BEEN TOLD THE MOTOR IS GOING OUT THAT CONTROLS LOCKING MY CARS DOORS. WHEN THE THROTTLE GAVE OUT I WAS DRIVING WHEN I NOTICE THIS LOUD NOISE. WHEN THE FAN GAVE OUT ON THE AC, I NOTICE THAT THE AC NO LONGER WORK AND I ATTEMPTED ADD FREON AND I WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS THE FAN ON THE AC. MY MAJOR COMPLAINT TODAY IS THE MOTOR ON FOR THE LOCK/UNLOCK. IT'S A SHAME THAT CARS ARE ONLY MADE TO LAST A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME OR AT THE LOWEST COST POSSIBLE AND THE SELL THEM FOR OUTRAGEOUS PRICE OVER THE FAIR MARKET PRICE. SOMETIME ITS JUST BETTER TO PURCHASE A USED CAR OPPOSED TO NEW VEHICLE THAT YOU THINK WILL LAST AND BUT ITS NOT LIKE THAT AT ALL.
MY CAR HAD SYMPTOMS OF JERKING AND DELAYS WHEN ACCELERATING. THE VEHICLE WOULD SHAKE HEAVILY WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY. AFTER GOING TO THE MECHANIC FOR A DIAGNOSTIC, IT WAS CONFIRMED THAT MY NISSAN VERSA NOTE HAD TRANSMISSION ISSUES. I THEN FOUND OUT THAT SEVERAL CARS OF THIS MAKE/MODEL WERE HAVING SIMILAR PROBLEMS. ESTIMATES FOR A NEW TRANSMISSION ARE HEAVY AND I AM HOPING NISSAN TAKES OWNERSHIP FOR THESE ISSUES KNOWING HOW MANY CARS ARE AFFECTED.
I WAS DRIVING UP A HILL IN VENTURA WHEN THE CAR LOST POWER AND STARTED TO ROLL BACKWARDS. PRIOR TO THAT THE CAR WOULD JERK LIKE IT WOULD GO INTO GEAR AND WOULD HESITATE. FINALLY THE CAR WOULD GO FORWARD AND I HAD TO STOP AT VONS FOR THE CAR TO BE TOWED. I WAS 58 MILES FROM HOME. IT WAS REALLY SCARY BUT I WAS FORTUNATE THERE WERE NO OTHER CARS BEHIND ME AND THE CAR DID NOT RUN OFF THE LEDGE.
I NOTICED THE VEHICLE SPUTTERS AND JERKS WHEN I TRY TO ACCELERATE PREVENTING ME FROM DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY IN FEAR OF BEING IN AN ACCIDENT. TOOK IT TO A NISSAN DEALERSHIP AND THEY DIAGNOSED IT AS A BAD TRANSMISSION. THE COST OF A NEW ONE IS VERY EXPENSIVE. THE VEHICLE ONLY HAS 72,XXX MILES ON IT.
PROBLEMS WITH TRANSMISSION. RPM GO VERY HIGH AND IT WON'T SWITCH GEARS, THEN AFTER STRUGGLING IT WILL SWITCH GEAR BUT JERK THE CAR VERY HARD AND YOU CAN HEAR IT SWITCH VERY HARD. IT DOES DOES IN THE STREET AND HIGHWAY. MAKES ME VERY CONCERNED ABOUT GETTING ON A HIGHWAY AND MY TRANSMISSION FAILING TO SWITCH TO HIGHER GEARS AND OTHER CARS HITTING ME FOR NOT BEING ABLE TO GO INTO FASTER SPEEDS. THE VEHICLE IS NOT EVEN AT THE 50K MILES YET.
MY CAR HAVE 117 K MILES AND THA TRANZMITION IS BAD ALL THA NISSAN CAR ARE LIKE THA
I WAS DRIVING ON A 2 LANE HIGHWAY AT 55 MPH AND CAME TO A FOUR-WAY STOP. I STOPPED COMPLETELY AND WAITED FOR CROSSING TRAFFIC, THEN PUSHED ON THE ACCELERATOR. THE ENGINE WAS STILL RUNNING BUT THE TRANSMISSION WOULD NOT ENGAGE. I WAS ABLE TO EASE THE CAR TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, TURNED IT OFF AND ALLOWED IT TO COOL FOR ABOUT FIVE MINUTES, THEN RESTARTED IT. THIS TIME, THE GEARS ENGAGED, BUT THE CAR BEGAN TO SHUDDER BEFORE IT MOVED FORWARD. FROM READING OTHER ACCOUNTS, IT APPEARS THAT THE TRANSMISSION IS FAILING. THIS VEHICLE IS JUST 5 YEARS OLD AND HAS LESS THAN 100K MILES ON IT. AFTER THAT, I TOOK BACK ROADS HOME, AND DID NOT BRING THE VEHICLE TO A FULL STOP UNTIL I REACHED MY HOUSE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 NISSAN VERSA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNDISCLOSED SPEED, THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED TO THE FLOORBOARD HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO RESPOND. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE HESITATED AND STALLED WITH AN UNKNOWN WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC HOWEVER, THE MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. NEITHER THE DEALER NOR MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 180,000.
IN NOV. 2019 CAR WAS PUTTING TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP TRANSMISSION FLUID WAS LOW AND IY HAD A LEAK IN THE LINE THEY PUT FLUIDS IN IT IT WAS OK FOR A MINUTE THEN ON NOV 13 HAD TRANS COOLER LINE PUT IN IT WAS RUNNING OK UNTIL NOW STILL PUTTING YOU REIMBURSE MY MY BUT I NEED A TRANSMISSION ARE YOU DOING RECALLS ON MY TRANSMISSION
I HAVE A 2014 NISSAN VERSA. I GOT THIS CAR NEW AND EVERY YEAR SINCE OWNING THIS CAR THERE HAS BEEN A ISSUE WITH THE TRANSMISSION. NISSAN HAS HAD AT LEAST 3 RECALLS ON THE TRANSMISSION. IT HAS GOTTEN TO THE POINT THAT THE TRANSMISSION IS BEYOND REPAIR ON A 5 YEAR OLD CAR. THE TRANSMISSION SENSOR AND TRANSMISSION HAS MALFUNCTIONED. THE CAR WILL STALL FOR A SECOND BEFORE GOING INTO GEAR. MECHANIC SHOPS SAID I NEED NISSAN TO REPAIR THIS OR PUT ME IN A NEW CAR! NISSAN KNOWS SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH THESE 2014 CARS BUT HAS NOT REACHED OUT TO ME ABOUT IT. THEY RECALLED SOME 2014 VERSAS BUT NOT ALL. I STRONGLY BELIEVED I WAS SOLD A HIGHLY UNSAFE CAR. THERE'S NO REASON WHY A NEW CAR SHOULD HAVE TRANSMISSION ISSUES EVERY YEAR ON A NEW CAR.
CAR STALLING , LOSING SPEED , DUE TO FAILING CVT TRANSMISSION
I WAS ON A CITY STREET AND STOPPED FOR THE RED LIGHT. WHEN THE LIGHT CHANGED AND I PRESSED THE GAS IT WOULD MOVE. I SLOWLY GOT IT TO MOVE, BUT ONCE I HAD TO SLOW DOWN AGAIN AND PUT MY FOOT ON THE GAS IT WOULD BARELY MOVE AND THE CAR IN BACK OF ME ALMOST HIT ME. WHILE IN MOTION IT WOULD BECOME WHERE PUTTING MY FOOT ON THE GAS WOULD BE IN VAIN. THAT HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES AND I COULD HARDLY MAKE IT TO MY HOME. ONCE I TRIED TO BACK UP I COULD HEAR A SOUND FROM THE TRANSMISSION. I'M NOT SURE IF IT'S THE TRANSMISSION SUPPORTS OR SOMETHING ELSE. I WAS NOT ABLE TO MAKE IT TO GET CHECKED OUT BECAUSE I WAS AFRAID OF GETTING INTO AN ACCIDENT. THE CAR IS A 2014 NISSAN VERSA SV AND HAS 79,589 TOTAL MILES TODAY. IT WAS A VERY SCARY SITUATION. THIS IS VERY UNSAFE BECAUSE IT HAPPENED WITHOUT WARNING.

THE CVT TRANSMISSION HAS BEEN KNOWN SINCE 2004 TO HAVE MAJOR PROBLEMS. THE CAR NEEDS A NEW TRANSMISSION IT HAS BEEN SLIPPING WHEN DRIVING AND IT WONT DOWN SHIFT WHEN YOU GET GOING. NISSAN HAS MANY LAWSUITS AGAINST THEM BUT THEY WONT HELP ME AT ALL.

BOUGHT 2014 NISSAN VERSA ON 09/10/19. HAD IT CHECKED OUT BY MECHANIC AND CHECKED OUT GOOD. HAD FOR 2.5 - 3 WEEKS AND ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND STARTED STALLING WHILE STOPPED. HAD TO TURN HEADLIGHTS OFF WHEN STOPPING AND THEN TURN THEM ON AGAIN WHEN CAR GOT GOING AGAIN. TOOK TO AAMCO IN LOUISVILLE KY AND THEY SAID IT WAS NEUTRAL SAFETY SWITCH. SPENT $400 TO HAVE REPLACED AND THINGS WERE GOOD FOR A COUPLE OF DAYS THEN STARTED DOING THE SAME THING AGAIN. VERY DANGEROUS TO HAVE TO TURN LIGHTS OFF/ON AT NIGHT. DROVE TO KY THIS WEEKEND TO GET CAR AND BRING HOME TO MO TO HAVE FIXED (HOPEFULLY). I CANNOT HAVE MY DAUGHTER IN COLLEGE 500 MILES AWAY FROM ME IN A DANGEROUS SITUATION.
BROUGHT THIS CAR USED FROM A USED CAR DEALER IN LILBURN, GA FOR MY COLLEGE AGE DAUGHTER TO GET BACK AND FORTH TO SCHOOL/WORK. WHILE SHE WAS DRIVING, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, I TOOK THE CAR TO NISSAN SOUTH IN MORROW, GA FOR A DIAGNOSTIC TEST AND WAS TOLD THAT THE CAR NEEDS A NEW TRANSMISSION, THAT IT WOULD COST $3861.00 PLUS TAX. I'M NOW FINDING THAT THE CVT TRANSMISSIONS ON THESE CARS ARE CRAP! AND NISSAN USA CORP IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM. NISSAN OPENED A CASE FOR THE CAR, WE RECEIVED A CALL FROM JOSHUA W/NISSAN CUSTOMER CARE AND WAS TOLD THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO ABOUT THE CAR (EVEN THOUGH THE MILEAGE IS UNDER 100K). WHY IS NISSAN ABLE TO PROFIT OFF OF CONSUMERS WHILE SELLING A KNOWINGLY DEFECTIVE PRODUCT? WHY HASN'T THE NHTSA STOPPED NISSAN FROM SELLING THIS VEHICLE? I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER NISSAN AGAIN, EVER!!!!

HAPPENS MOST OBVIOUSLY WHEN AT HIGH SPEEDS ON THE HIGHWAY LETTING OFF THE GAS PEDAL TO SLOW OR COAST FOR A MOMENT AND THEN PRESSING GAS TO SPEED UP AGAIN. WORKS THE SAME WHEN SHIFTING (MANUAL TRANSMISSION) AT LOW SPEEDS. TWO INDEPENDENT MECHANICS ACKNOWLEDGE THE ISSUE, BUT COULD FIND NO CAUSE OR SOLUTION--IT IS NOT GROOVES IN THE ROAD OR TIRES OR SUCH THINGS. ONE MECHANIC CALLED NISSAN, WHO SAID THEY'VE HAD SIMILAR COMPLAINTS WITH THIS VEHICLE, BUT THEY CAN'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. THE VEHICLE IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE ABOVE 30-40 MPH AS THE WOBBLE IN THE FRONT END IS SIGNIFICANT AS DESCRIBED. IT'S NOT THE STRUTS, NOT THE CONTROL ARMS, ETC. NO CODE COMES UP FOR ANY ELECTRONICS ISSUE. IT IS A MANUFACTURING PROBLEM.

POWER TRAIN FAILURE OCCURRED WHILE TRAVELING AT PROPER SAFE POSTED SPEED LIMITS ON THE FREEWAY AND CITY STREETS AND ROADS, WHICH RESULTED IN IMPROPER UPSHIFTING AFTER COMPLETE STOPS AND HARD UPSHIFT SLAMMING TYPE IMPACT ON POWER TRAIN UPON TAKE OFF, AS WELL AS GRINDING TYPE NOISES COMING FROM BENEATH THE ENGINE, INCLUDING EXCESSIVE VIBRATION COMING UP THROUGH SHIFT COLUMN, THIS OCCURRED ON 9/14/2019 ON OUR 2014 NISSAN VERSA NOTE, PER THE INFORMATION WHICH WE HAVE OBTAINED, THIS IS A COMMON FAILURE OF THIS MODEL AFTER MILEAGE RANGING FROM 50,00 TO 80,000 MILES OF SERVICE, AND IS A COSTLY REPAIR, AND FEEL THE AUTO MAKER WAS AWARE OF THIS POWER TRAIN LIFE SPAN FAILURE, WHICH COULD HAVE RESULTED INTO A LIFE THREATENING ISSUE FOR VEHICLE OWNERS OR OPERATORS WITHOUT A SAFE ROUTE OF ESCAPE FROM POSSIBLE TRAFFIC COLLISION'S, THAT WOULD HAVE RESULTED FROM LOSS OF POWER DURING HEAVY FREEWAY OR CROSS TRAFFIC, AND BEING SUCH A SMALL VEHICLE IN SUCH A SITUATION, THE INJURY OR LOSS OF LIFE WOULD BE GREAT, BUT THE AUTO MAKER NEGLECTED TO, AND MADE NO EFFORT TO INFORM US OR THE PUBLIC OF SUCH ISSUES, AND DELIBERATELY MADE THIS A DISPOSABLE VEHICLE TO ENCOURAGE FINANCIAL LOSSES TO VEHICLE OWNERS AND INCREASE AUTO SALES. I FOR ONE HAVE BEEN SATISFIED WITH THIS VEHICLE TILL NOW, BEING IT HAS BEEN PROPERLY MAINTAINED SINCE IT'S PURCHASE IN 2015, BY A REPUTABLE CERTIFIED AUTO MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR SHOP, I ALSO FEEL THAT BEING THE AUTO MAKER IS FAMILIAR WITH THIS DEFECT AND THE AMOUNT OF COMPLAINTS AND COSTS RELATED TO THE POWER TRAIN FAILURE, THAT THEY SHOULD TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THIS DEFECT.
IN MY 2014 NISSAN VERSA SEDAN THERE WAS A SCREECHING NOISE AT ANY POINT OF ACCELERATION THINKING IT WAS THE BRAKES. I GOT THE BRAKES CHANGED BUT THE NOISE WAS STILL THERE. I TOOK IT TO A MECHANIC AND WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS SOMETHING WITH THE TRANSMISSION. THE CVT TRANSMISSION THAT HAS CAUSED NOT ONLY ME BUT SO MANY OTHER PEOPLE PROBLEMS AS WELL. ONE OF THE BELTS IN THE TRANSMISSION IS SCREECHING AND CAUSING OTHER THINGS IN MY CAR TO NOT FUNCTION AS WELL. THIS IS NOT OKAY TO KNOW AND SELL A CAR WITH A TRANSMISSION THAT IS KNOWN TO FAIL SOON. I GOT THE CAR IS NOW AT 106,000 MILES. IT MAKES ME SCARED TO KNOW I DO NOT HAVE THE MONEY TO GET A NEW TRANSMISSION AND THAT THE CAR CAN GO AT ANY TIME.
