I HAD BOUGHT A USED 2007 NISSAN XTERRA AND THE RADIATOR AND TRANSMISSION WENT OUT ON IT. I DO NOT HAVE THE MONEY TO FIX IT. IT IS NOT DRIVEABLE. I HAD BOUGHT IT IM AUGUST OF 2017 AND IT WENT OUT ON ME IN MARCH 2018. THE DEALERSHIP I BOUGHT IT FROM CAN NOT HELP ME.
TRANSMISSION FLUID IN RADIATOR IN 2016, HAD TO REBUILD RADIATOR. 2018 GAS GAUGE FUEL SENSOR NOT READING ACCURATELY. ONLY REGISTERS 1/4 TANK EVEN WHEN FILLED.
VEHICLE TRANSMISSION STARTED TO SLIP AND NOW, THE TRANSMISSION DOES NOT ENGAGE AT RANDOM TIMES CAUSING POWER LOSS WHILE IN MOTION WHETHER DRIVING ON HIGHWAYS OR CITY STREETS. THIS PROBLEM IS NOT WORSEN OR ALIVIATED BY TURNING OR BREAKING. THE TRANSMISSION WILL EVENTUALY ENGAGE AFTER SLOWING THE VEHICLE DOWN AND LATER ACCELERATING. THE VEHICLE WAS BROUGHT TO A TRAINED MECHANIC WHO FOUND THAT THE COOLANT FLUID WAS ENTERING THE TRANSMISSION AND OIL WAS MIXING WITH THE COOLANT FLUID. A SECOND OPINION FROM ANOTHER TRAINED MECHANIC VERIFIED THE SAME PROBLEM.
COOLANT FROM MY RADIATOR GOT INTO MY TRANSMISSION AND DAMAGES MY TRANSMISSION AND TRANSMISSION COMPUTER IN 2015 AND I HAD TO HAVE IT REPLACED. EARLIER THIS YEAR 20Q8, MY TRANSMISSION WENT OUT AGAIN WITH WHAT SEEMS TO BE THE SAME EXACT PROBLEM. I CAN'T AFFORD TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION AGAIN SO I'M STUCK NOW.
BOCH NISSAN SOUTH ( FORMERLY NISSAN VILLAGE)SOLD ME A TRUCK ON MARCH 30, 2013 WHERE THEY ROLLED BACK THE ODOMETER & FAILED TO MENTION 2 SERIOUS ACCIDENTS IN 2011 PRIOR TO MY PURCHASE MARCH 2013. I BELIEVE WE WERE SHOWN A DIFFERENT CAR FAX I WAS TOLD IT WAS THE SALESMAN'S WIFE'S TRUCK THAT SHE HAD JUST TRADED IN. I HAVE HAD VERY SERIOUS ISSUES THAT MADE NO SINCE FOR A TRUCK THAT HAD BEEN BABYED BY ME . COMPLETE ENIGEN FIRE IN FEBUARY NUREMOUS OIL LEAKS & RADIATOR MIXING WITH THE COOLANT OIL PAST 10 MONTHS. I BROUGHT IT INTO TO NISSIAN BOCH SOUTH OF NORTH ATTLEBORO IN APRIL THEY ACCUSED ME OF ROLLING BACK THE ODOMETER. I WAS HORRIFIED TOLD THEM YOU GUYS SOLD ME THIS TRUCK. I WENT HOME AND ORDERED A CARFAX AND IT CLEARLY HAPPENED AT THE DEALERSHIP WHEN IT WENT IN FOR REPAIRS ON 2 ACCIDENTS THAT I WAS NOT AWARE OF! BOCH NISSIAN THINKS IT'S NO BIG DEAL MY 17 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING THIS TRUCK SHE COULD HAVE BEEN IN THE FIRE AND AS A NEW DRIVER MAY HAVE PANICKED AND GOTTEN INTO A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. I WAS DRIVING ON RT 1 NORTH ATTLEBORO IN FEBRUARY I HAD JUST HAD THE VALVE GASKET REPLACED . I WAS DRIVING ALL OF A SUDDEN LOST ALL POWER BLANK DASH SAW A TON OF SMOKE COMING OUT OF THE ENGINE. I JUMPED OUT AFTER ROLLING TO THE SIDE OF ROUTE 1 BY THE TIME THE TOW TRUCK CAME IT WAS SIMMERING. IT TOOK OVER TWO WEEKS TO REPAIR WIRING AT PATRIOT ELECTRICAL IN PAWTUCKET RI NEW ALTERNATOR , GASKET COVER REPLACED AGAIN. I THOUGHT WE WERE BUYING A TRUCK WITH 58,000 MILES WHEN IN REALTY IT WAS ALMOST 90, 000 OR MORE DEPENDING ON FAR THEY ROLLED IT IT WAS 70,000 PRIOR TO MY PURCHASE WHEN THE 1ST ACCIDENT HAPPENED WITH THE SALESMAN'S WIFE.
LOSS OF POWER DUE TO LEAK OF THE RADIATOR TO THE TRANSMISSION, FOLLOW BY TRANSMISSION FAILURE. THE VEHICLE RUNS IN ONE GEAR AND THE DEALER SUGGESTED CHANGING THE TRANSMISSION FOR $4,000 ARE THEY CRAZY..........2007 NISSAN XTERRA WITH LOW MILES 89,000 ONE OWNER. I AM NEVER BUYING NISSAN AGAIN

THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED INJURIES THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE WAS TOTALED AND WAS TOWED AWAY BY THE INSURANCE COMPANY. THE DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 151,000.
RADIATOR AND TRANSMISSION FLUID MIXED NOW IT`S GOING TO COST $5000.00 DOLLARS FOR NEW TRANS.
LACK OF RECALL FOR THE TRANSMISSION FAILURE. THE TRANSMISSION DOES SHIFT FROM PARK TO NEUTRAL TO REVERSE AND THEN DRIVE BUT ONCE IN DRIVE IT STAYS IN A LOWER GEAR LIKE 1ST. WHILE DRIVING ON A CITY STREET ALL OF THE SUDDEN I NOTICED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS MAKING A SOUND AS IF IT WERE NOT SHIFTING TO A HIGHER GEAR. I THEN NOTICED THAT THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. WE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A REPAIR SHOP AND THEY CHECKED THE ENGINE CODE AND THEY SAID IT WAS A TRANSMISSION ISSUE AND THAT WE NEEDED TO TAKE IT TO A TRANSMISSION SHOP. WE TOOK IT TO A TRANSMISSION SHOP AND THEY SAID THAT THE CODES IS FOR TRANSMISSION FAILURE. REPAIR COST WILL BE ABOUT 5000.

IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE WOULD DECELERATE, THE ODOMETER WOULD DECREASE, AND THE VEHICLE STALLED. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE FAILURE OCCURRED THREE SEPARATE TIMES. AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC DIAGNOSED THAT TRANSMISSION FLUID WAS LEAKING INTO THE RADIATOR. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER AND THE DEALER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 126,000.
"TAKATA RECALL" I HAVE A 2007 NISSAN EXTERRA 4WD. I CHECKED MY RADIATOR FLUID SINCE I WAS NOT GETTING HEAT DURING PARKED IDLE. AFTER LETTING THE MOTOR COOL ENOUGH TO REMOVE THE RADIATOR CAP, TO MY SURPRISE THERE IS TRANSMISSION FLUID IN MY RADIATOR. I HAVE OWNED THIS CAR APPROXIMATELY THREE YEARS AND NEVER ONCE GOT A LETTER. WHEN I CALLED NISSAN TODAY 11/10/2017 I WAS INFORMED THAT THE RECALL ENDED IN 2016 OR AT 100,000 MILES. IN WHICH CASE I WAS TOLD NOTHING COULD BE DONE.

MY TRANSMISSION WENT OUT DUE TO A RADIATOR DEFECT IN THE 2005-2010 XTERRAS. I KNOW THERE IS A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT INVOLVING THIS ISSUE AND CONSUMERS ARE ATTEMPTING TO FORCE A RECALL OF THIS GENERATION OF NISSANS. THE REPAIR COST $4,200 AND I WAS WITHOUT A VEHICLE FOR OVER TWO WEEKS. THE REPAIR SHOP STATED THAT I HAD SIGNIFICANT WATER DAMAGE TO THE COMPUTER, WHICH IS TYPICAL OF THIS DEFECT. I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE MY VEHICLE TO THE SHOP, BUT I WAS VERY CONCERNED ABOUT DRIVING IT FROM MY LOCATION SINCE I WAS HIKING IN THE MOUNTAINS APPROXIMATELY 40 MILES FROM HOME WHEN IT BECAME APPARENT THERE WAS A MAJOR ISSUE.
I KELP VEHICLE REGULARLY MANTIANCED SHUT IT OFF ONE EVENING NEXT MORNING IT WOULD START WHEN FINALLY STARTED IT WOULDN'T PULL IN 1ST GEAR. TOOK IT TO TRANSMISSION SHOP AND FOUND OUT THAT A CRACK HAD ACCURED AND THERE WAS COOLANT MIXED WITH TRANSMISSION FLUID .SO 3 DAYS AFTER I PD IT OFF ON A 3 YR PAYMENT PLAN IT BROKE DOWN ON ME . VERY HARD TO FIND D A PLACEMENT AND SOMEONE WHO WILL DO WORK ON IT BC IT'S SO COMMO
MY VEHICLE LOST POWER WHILE I WAS DRIVING. THE TRANSMISSION WAS DAMAGED AS A RESULT OF A FAULTY RADIATOR ISSUE ALLOWING FLUID TO LEAK INTO AND DESTROY THE TRANSMISSION. NISSAN WILL NOT DO ANYTHING TO HELP REPAIR.
TRANSMISSION FAILED WHILE VEHICLE WAS MOVING. RESEARCH SHOWS THAT TRANSMISSION FAILURE IS DUE TO A DESIGN FLAW WHERE ENGINE COOLANT CAN LEAK INTO THE TRANSMISSION.
TOTAL TRANSMISSION FAILURE CAUSED BY A CRACKED RADIATOR THAT ALLOWED ENGINE COOLANT TO MIX WITH TRANSMISSION FLUID. COST TO FIX IS MORE THAN THE VALUE OF THE VEHICLE. THE DEFECTIVE RADIATOR HAS NO RECALL ON IT ALTHOUGH THE PROBLEM IS WELL KNOWN TO NISSAN.
WHILE ON A CAMPING TRIP FROM CALIFORNIA TO NEBRASKA TO WATCH THE ECLIPSE, MY XTERRA SUDDENLY AND WITHOUT ANY WARNING (NO WARNING LIGHTS) LOST POWER AND CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP IN AN INTERSECTION NEAR ALIANCE, NE. WE WERE DRIVING THE SPEED LIMIT BUT COULD EASILY HAVE BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT IF THIS HAD BEEN A MORE POPULATED AREA. WE WERE ABLE TO "COAST" IT OFF THE HIGHWAY INTO A PARKING AREA AND ARRANGE FOR A TOW TRUCK TO PICK US UP.THE NEAREST NISSAN DEALER IS 500MI. AWAY IN DENVER SO HAD MY VEHICLE TOWED TO AAA RECOMMENDED SHOP. THEY DIAGNOSED TRANSMISSION FAILURE DUE TO RADIATOR CRACK AND UNIT SENDING COOLANT INTO THE TRANSMISSION. MY VEHICLE HAS LESS 98K MI. ON IT.! ESTIMATED COST OF REPAIRS $3-8,000.00. TO COMPLETE REPAIRS THEY WOULD HAVE TO HAVE PARTS SENT FROM CALIFORNIA, SO THEY ADVISED ME JUNK THE VEHICLE OR TOW BACK TO CALIFORNIA. SINCE I'M A SENIOR LIVING ON FIXED INCOME I DO NOT HAVE FUNDS TO PURCHASE ANOTHER VEHICLE. SO I HAD TO RENT A CAR ($800.00) TO GET BACK TO CALIFORNIA AND HAVE THE XTERRA TRANSPORTED ($1,100.00) BACK TO BE REPAIRED. THINK IT IS SHAMEFUL THAT THERE WAS NO NOTICE FROM NISSAN ABOUT THIS SO CONSUMERS COULD TAKE PREVENTATIVE MEASURES. I HAVE BEEN A LOYAL CUSTOMER,THIS IS THE SECOND NISSAN PRODUCT I'VE OWNED, BUT NOW BECAUSE NISSAN IS NOT STANDING BEHIND ITS PRODUCT, EVEN AFTER THE REPAIRS I WILL HAVE A "WORTHLESS" VEHICLE THAT I HAVE HAD TO PUT THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS INTO..SO THIS WILL BE MY LAST PURCHASE FROM THIS COMPANY.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 NISSAN XTERRA. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS STARTED, THE FUEL GAUGE DISPLAYED 1/8 LESS FUEL IN THE TANK THAN THE PREVIOUS NIGHT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE STARTED APPROXIMATELY THREE MONTHS AGO THAT THE FUEL GAUGE DID NOT REFLECT THE ACTUAL AMOUNT OF FUEL IN THE TANK. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC (FIRESTONE IN LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL SENDER MODULE FAILED AND NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: 27901980. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 110,000.
TRANSMISSION FAILURE DUE TO RADIATOR LEAKING INTO TRANSMISSION
EXTERNAL TRANSMISSION COOLER/RADIATOR ASSEMBLY LEAK HAS CAUSED THE TRANSMISSION ON MY VEHICLE TO BECOME INOPERABLE. THE MIXING OF THE VEHICLE COOLANT AND THE TRANSMISSION FLUID CAUSED THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE/TRANSMISSION BODY ASSEMBLY TO MALFUNCTION. THUS THE VEHICLE REFUSES TO START AS THE TRANSMISSION WILL NOT OPERATE. I AM NOW REQUIRED TO REPLACE THE RADIATOR AND TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE AT MORE THAN $2K OUT OF POCKETPIN ADDITION TO TOWING AND RENTAL VEHICLE EXPENSES. THE VEHICLE RAN FINE AND NO SLIPPING WAS DETECTED PRIOR TO THE MALFUNCTION EVEN AFTER MULTIPLE TRANSMISSION FLUID CHANGES. THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN MY GARAGE REQUIRING A TOW TO A MECHANIC AFTER RUNNING WITHOUT ANY ISSUES THE PREVIOUS DAY. APPARENTLY THIS IS A WIDESPREAD ISSUE THAT NISSAN HAS KNOWN ABOUT FOR YEARS IN THE XTERRA, PATHFINDER, TITAN, AND ARMADA MODELS. NISSAN FAILED TO NOTIFY VEHICLE OWNERS OF STEPS TO AVOID COSTLY REPAIRS BY SIMPLY USING A DIFFERENT NONCORRSIVE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FLUID AND TO REPLACE THE FAULTY RADIATOR AND EXTERNAL TRANSMISSION COOLER ASSEMBLY. I AM NOW LEFT IN A GREATER UNDUE HARDSHIP THNKS TO NISSAN'S GROSS NEGLIGENCE REGARDING AN ALL TOO COMMON ISSUE THAT NISSAN FAILED TO ADDRESS WITH THOUSANDS OF COMPLAINTS AND DOCUMENTED EXAMPLES. THE EXTENSION OF THE WARRANTY DOES ADEQUATELY COVER VEHICLE OWNERS WHO ALL SEEM TO FALL VICTIM OUTSIDE OF THE WARRANTY COVERAGE PERIOD THAT NISSAN SPECIFICALLY INCREASED DUE TO THE FAULTY EQUIPMENT AND FLUIDS THAT NISSAN RECOMMENDED AND EVEN REQUIRED.

MIXING OF RADIATOR COOLANT WITH TRANSMISSION FLUID BECAUSE OF RADIATOR PROBLEMS.
FAULTY RADIATORS IN NISSANS ARE LEAKING COOLANT INTO THE TRANSMISSION, DESTROYING THE SEALS, VALVES AND TORQUE CONVERTER.
NISSAN DEALERSHIP NOTIFIED ME ABOUT NEEDING TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE TIMING CHAIN SYSTEM. AFTER DOING RESEARCH, IT IS EVIDENT NISSAN KNEW ABOUT FAULTY TIMING CHAIN TENSIONERS AND GUIDES THAT IT WAS USING ON CERTAIN MODEL YEAR XTERRAS, INCLUDING 2007. IF TIMING CHAIN FAILS WHILE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION, IT CAN LEAD TO CATASTROPHIC ENGINE FAILURE AND A $8000+ REPAIR BILL FOR A NEW ENGINE. NISSAN KNOWING ABOUT THIS PROBLEM SENT SERVICE BULLETINS TO ITS SERVICE CENTERS BUT DID NOT INFORM CONSUMERS ABOUT THE PROBLEM. THE TIMING CHAIN SHOULD BE GOOD FOR THE LIFE OF THE ENGINE, BUT NOW MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP IS TELLING ME IT IS GOING TO COST AT LEAST $1900 TO REPLACE THE TIMING CHAIN AND ALL COMPONENTS. NISSAN KNEW THE COMPONENTS ARE FAULTY AND YET DON'T CARE ENOUGH TO INFORM CONSUMERS. THIS ISN'T THE FIRST TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED. NISSAN KNEW THAT THE TRANSMISSION COOLERS ON SAME MODEL YEAR WERE FAULTY AND DID NOT INFORM CONSUMERS. CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT FORCED NISSAN TO FACE THE MUSIC, BUT CONSUMERS STILL HAD TO PAY OVER $2000 OUT OF POCKET TO REPLACE TRANSMISSION, TRANSMISSION COOLER, AND RADIATOR.
My 07 Xterra has extreme rust in the door jams and rear panels. The rack-n-pinion, power steering system leaks fluid.
WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD, AND ALL OF A SUDDEN, TRANSMISSION STARTED DOWNSHIFTING. I PULLED OVER, POPPED THE HOOD, AND SMOKE WAS COMING FROM THE TRANSMISSION FLUID. I CHECKED IT, AND IT WAS NORMAL LEVEL BUT EXTREMELY HOT. I LET IT COOL DOWN, AND I STARTED DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AGAIN, AND THE OVERDRIVE STARTS RUMBLING; FEELS AND SOUND LIKE I'M DRIVING OVER A RUMBLE STRIP. TRANSMISSION SHOP SAYS, THE TRANSMISSION NEEDS REPLACING.
TRANSMISSION FAILED WITHOUT WARNING.
RADIATOR LEAKED INTO THE TRANSMISSION RENDERING BOTH DEFECTIVE AND IN NEED OF REPLACEMENT. NO HEAT WHEN CAR NOT MOVING, TRANSMISSION SLIPPING AND SKIPPING WHILE DRIVING.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE HIS WIFE WAS DRIVING ABOUT 70 MPH, THE VEHICLE RAN OUT OF FUEL, HOWEVER, THE FUEL GAUGE SHOWED THAT THERE WAS A QUARTER TANK OF FUEL. THERE WAS NO WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. FUEL WAS ADDED AND THE VEHICLE OPERATED AS INTENDED. THE CONTACT VISITED THE MCLARTY NISSAN OF BENTON LOCATED AT (19960 I-30, BENTON, AR 72019) AND WAS NOTIFIED OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 10V075000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE) HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 136,000.
ON A FM ROAD, DOING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH. FRONTAL IMPACT WITH A GUARD RAIL, WENT OVER RAIL, HIT TREE. AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. DRIVER HIT STEERING WHEEL UPON IMPACT WITH GUARDRAIL, HIT WINDSHIELD WITH HEAD WHEN VEHICLE STRUCK TREE. (NOT WEARING SEAT BELT AT TIME OF IMPACT.) VEHICLE HAS BEEN DECLARED A TOTAL LOSS. WE BELIEVE THE ISSUE IS, THE AIRBAG SENSORS.
NISSAN DEALER TOLD ME THAT THE RADIATOR FLUIDS STARTED TO LEAK INTO THE TRANSMISSION AND NOW THE TRANSMISSION NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AND IT WILL COST $8000 DOLLARS TO FIX

WAS DRIVING HOME FROM ALBUQUERQUE NM TO MORIARTY NM WHEN HAD VEHICLE OVERHEAT STOPPED VEHICLE AND CHECKED ANTIFREEZE AND IN THE RESERVOIR FOUND PINK LOOKING LIQUID LET IT COOL DOWN HAD HUSBAND CHECK IT AND HAD COOLANT AND TRANSMISSION FLUID MIXED AFTER THIS VEHICLE WOULDN'T SHIFT PROPERLY ALSO I WAS ON I40 WHEN IT OCCURRED

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 118,000.
WELL THE TRANSMISSION AND RADIATOR LEAK TOOK THE MY XTERRA IN TO NISSAN MCGAVOCK AND THEY TOLD ME THAT I NEEDED TO GET TRANSMISSION AND RADIATOR REPLACED AND NOW I HAVE NO CAR AND ME AND MY WIFE HAVE TO WALK TO BUS TO TAKE MY DAUGHTER TO SCHOOL AND I GO TO WORK ON BUS AND SO DOES MY WIFE.. THEY TOLD ME FROM MCGAVOCK NISSAN THAT THEY COULD FIX IT FOR 5800.00 DOLLARS. THIS IS A SHAME THAT YOU DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO ABOUT HELPING PEOPLE OUT AND GETTING THIS FIX. XTERRA DOES NOT RUN IT IS BROKE..
WHILE DRIVING, THE CAR STARTED NOT TO SHIFT WELL WHEN CHANGING GEARS. I'VE NOTICED ON THE HIGHWAY AND ON THE CITY ROADS. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER WITHIN THAT WEEK AND THEY SAID IT WAS MY TRANSMISSION AND THAT IT WILL COST OVER $3000 TO FIX. WHEN I PURCHASED THE CAR 2 YEARS AGO, I ALSO PURCHASED A BUMPER TO BUMPER WARRANTY THAT INCLUDED THE TRANSMISSION. I DID NOT HAVE THE PAPERWORK WITH ME SO I HAD TO GO HOME TO LOOK FOR IT. ONCE I FOUND IT, I CALLED AND SENT THE COPY DIRECTLY TO THE DEALER. THEY CALLED ME THE FOLLOWING DAY SAYING MY WARRANTY COVERS EVERYTHING EXCEPT INTERMIX INGRID WHICH WAS EXACTLY WHAT IT WAS. I SPENT EXTRA MONEY TO MAKE SURE IF ANYTHING HAPPENS TO MY CAR I COULD GET IT FIXED WITH THE WARRANTY. THEY TOLD ME THEY COULDN'T DO ANYTHING AND TO FIX IT I MUST PAY THE $3000. I HAD MY CAR FOR 2 YEARS AND IT ONLY HAS 75,000 MIKES AND NOW MY TRANSMISSION GOES OUT? I RESEARCHED WHAT INTERMIX INGRID IS AND FOUND OUT I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE WITH THIS PROBLEM??! NISSAN ISN'T TAKING RESPONSIBILITY AND INSTEAD CHARGING US ALL $3000+ TO GET THE PROBLEM THAT EVERYONE IS HAVING FIXED. THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL OR THE WARRANTY SHOULD COVER THIS PROBLEM. TOOK SUV TO WOODBURY NISSAN, HEARING SOUNDS WHEN DRIVING AND NO HEAT. THE RADIATOR COOLANT LEAKED INTO THE TRANSMISSION. BOTH NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. MY SUV WAS ON A HIGHWAY, AND 4WD INDICATOR LIGHT CAME ON AND VEHICLE MADE A VIBRATING NOISE, PULLED OFF AND TURNED VEHICLE OFF AND WOULD NOT RESTART, THE SUV WAS TOWED TO THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP FOR DIAGNOSTIC TEST. RESULTS: THE CODES U1000, P1807 AND P0717 (TRANSMISSION) COST $4, 491,58. IN APRIL 2016, I HAD A LEAK FROM THE RADIATOR THAT RUINED THE TRANSMISSION. I INITIALLY HAD THE RADIATOR REPLACED AND THE TRANSMISSION FLUSHED, COST $1000 AT NISSAN DEALERSHIP. THIS WAS ONLY A BAND-AID HOWEVER, AND DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. 6 MONTHS LATER TRANSMISSION FAILED. NISSAN PUT THE CONSUMER UNDER THE BUS. I FILED A COMPLAINT WITH NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS CASE# 24403641 WITH NO ASSISTANT, DUE TO THE MILEAGE OF 100K EXCEEDS WARRANTY. NISSAN WAS AWARE OF THIS DEFAULT IN RADIATORS BACK IN 2007 AND DID NOT NOTIFY A RECALL TO THE CONSUMER. A CROSS CONTAMINATION WHERE COOLANT LEAKS INTO THE TRANSMISSION AND DESTROYS THE TRANSMISSION. I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER NISSAN PRODUCT, DUE TO THIS ORDEAL AND VERY DIFFICULT SITUATION. I'VE ALWAYS MAINTAINED MY SUV ON ALL REQUIRED MAINTENANCE. ANOTHER FRUSTRATED 2007 NISSAN XTERRA OWNER WHO'S RADIATOR AND TRANSMISSION HAD TO BE REPLACED. THREE WEEKS AGO NOTICED SOME TRANNY SLIPPAGE WHILE DRIVING (NORMALLY 80 MILES A DAY, 5 DAYS A WEEK AND ALL ON HIGHWAYS), CHECKED FLUID, NO PROBLEM, NO LEAKS OR NOTHING, THOUGH MAYBE JUST DRAIN AND CHANGE FLUIDS. THEN 1 WEEK AGO TODAY, I WAS AT A STOP LIGHT WHEN MY TEMPERATURE GAUGE SPIKED TO HOT AND RADIATOR STARTED TO SMOKE, STARTED TO MOVE ON THE GREEN LIGHT TO PULL OVER TO SIDE OF ROAD FROM A FOUR LANE HIGHWAY AND I WAS IN THE SECOND LANE OVER, CAR STARTED TO CHUG AND BARELY MADE IT TO THE SIDE OF ROAD BEFORE IT QUIT, THEN A GRAY COLORED FLUID STARTED DRAINING OUT OF MY RADIATOR OVERFLOW ALL OVER THE GROUND. HAD TO MAKE THE CALL TO A SHOP AND THEY KNEW EXACTLY WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS BEFORE THEY CAME AND GOT IT. THE CAR GOT TOWED TO SHOP WHERE THEY QUOTED ME $5590 FOR TOWING, NEW RADIATOR AND REBUILT TRANNY. WTF'. *TR
COOLANT CONTAMINATION IN THE TRANSMISSION CAUSING ENGINE FAILURE AND TRANSMISSION FAILURE. ALSO BLOWS FUSES AND CAR WILL NOT START. WAS SITTING AT A RED LIGHT WHEN IT TURNED GREEN AND I ACCELERATED THE CAR WOULD NOT GO. WHEN I GOT TO A SAFE PLACE TO TURN IT OFF IT WOULD NOT TURN BACK ON. UPON FURTHER INVESTIGATION I AM ONE OF MANY THAT HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT THIS AND NISSAN HAS YET TO RECALL THIS ISSUE. I WAS LUCKY TO BE AT A RED LIGHT AND NOT DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE. ALSO THIS IS MY 16 YEAR OLDS CAR AND THANK GOODNESS SHE WASN'T DRIVING IT WHEN IT HAPPENED.THE CAR WAS PURCHASED LESS THAN A MONTH. AGO WITH 133000 MILES ON IT AND WAS RUNNING GREAT UNTIL TODAY. THIS ISSUE COULD BE VERY DANGEROUS AND SHOULD BE TAKEN CARE OF BY THE MANUFACTURER.
SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON THE VEHICLE. TOOK IT TO MY LOCAL MECHANIC. MECHANIC SAID IT WAS THROWING TRANSMISSION CODES SUGGESTED TAKE IT TO DEALER TOWED CAR TO NISSAN DEALER. THEY TOLD ME THE RADIATOR COOLENT HAD LEAKED INTO THE TRANSMISSION PROCEEDED TO QUOTE ME A PRICE OF 6042.00 FOR NEW TRANSMISSION, RADIATOR AND COOLANT. WHAT I DON'T UNDERSTAND IS IF THIS IS A KNOWN DEFECT WHY DOESN'T NISSAN MAKE THIS RIGHT? I BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE USED IN JANUARY FROM A DEALERSHIP IT IS NOW OCTOBER AND I HAVE A VEHICLE THAT REPAIRS ARE GOING TO COST ALMOST AS MUCH AS I PAID FOR CAR. I NOTICED MY COOLANT LEVEL WAS LOW, BUT NO LEAKS. I TOOK IT IN AND HAD IT CHECKED. THE MAN PUT A NEW CAP ON THE RADIATOR, SAID HE PRESSURE TESTED IT AND COULD FIND NO LEAKS. A FEW DAYS LATER, ON MY WAY HOME FROM WORK, IT BARELY MADE IT HOME. AFTER I PARKED I TRIED TO START IT AND IT WOULDN'T. MY HUSBAND RESEARCHED IT AND READ ABOUT RADIATOR COOLANT IN THE TRANSMISSION AND SURE ENOUGH THAT'S WHAT HAPPENED.THE REPAIRS COME OUT TO BE MORE THAN THE VEHICLE IS WORTH. I FEEL SO RIPPED OFF. THAT WAS THE FIRST EXPENSIVE VEHICLE I'D EVER PURCHASED. I ONLY HAD IT FOR 3 YEARS AND HAD JUST PAID OFF THE $18,000. NOW I HAVE NOTHING. COMPLETE DEVASTATION SINCE I LIVE PAYCHECK TO PAYCHECK. I FEEL LIKE I JUST TOSSED THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS OUT THE WINDOW. MY NISSAN HAS 119,000 MILES. I ALWAYS MAINTAINED IT AND THOUGHT IT WOULD LAST AT LEAST 100,000 MORE.
