TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2001 OLDSMOBILE INTRIGUE. WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE VEHICLE STRUCK A BUMP IN THE ROAD. THE CONTACT LOST ALL STEERING CONTROL AND CRASHED INTO A TREE. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED BACK INJURIES, WHICH REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND TOWED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE CRASH. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG WAS SITTING UP AND AWAY FROM THE DASH BOARD. THE CONSUMER WAS ABLE TO SEE THE AIR BAG THROUGH THE GAP IN THE PANEL. THE DEALER WAS WILLING TO REPAIR THE PROBLEM AT A COST TO THE CONSUMER. THE MANUFACTURER IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM. *JB
