MY PONTIAC HAS HAD A LEAK FOR 6 YRS BASICALLY SINCE I HAD IT AND BEFORE THAT. I DIDN'T THINK NOTHING OF THIS BUT AFTER A WHILE OF THE SUNROOF LEAK IT CAUSES CORROSION ON THE ELECTRICAL TERMINALS IN THE WIRE HARNESS INSIDE THE DASH ON DRIVER DOOR SIDE. THIS CORROSION CAUSE YOUR CAR TO THROW PCM/TAC CODES : P0601,P0606,O0107. CAUSES CAR TO COMPLETE STALL OUT AND GO INTO REDUCED ENGINE POWER MODE. THIS CAN BE EXTREMELY UNSAFE. I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE THERE IS A FEW HUNDRED PEOPLE WHO POSTED ON SITES TRYING TO FIX THE SAME ISSUE. PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS A LOT OF PEOPLE DON'T KNOW ABOUT THIS NHTSA TO REPORT RECALLS.
WHEN I SHUT MY VEHICLE OFF, AND OPEN THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR, THE RADIO SHOULD SHUT OFF AND POWER WINDOW CONTROL STOPS. WE'LL FOR THE PAST MONTH, THIS ISN'T OCCURRING. WHEN I SIT MY VEHICLE OFF AND OPEN THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR, THE RAUL CONTINUES TO PLAY WHICH I THEM HAND TO START AND STOP MY CAR SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE IT WORKS OUT OPERATES AS DESIGNED
UPON ACCELERATING, THE VEHICLES STEERING WHEEL LOCKS UP AND ALL ELECTRICAL BEGINS TO FLICKER AND SHUT OFF. THE STEERING WHEEL WILL JERK FROM DRIVERS HANDS AND SEIZE UP UNLESS ACCELERATION STOPS. INFREQUENT ELECTRICAL BURNING SMELL AND DAY TIME RUNNING LIGHTS NO LONGER WORK EVEN AFTER BULB REPLACEMENT.

WHILE DRIVING MY IGNITION SHUT OFF. I LOST CONTROL OF THE CAR, HAVING NO STEERING. I HAD TO COME TO A COMPLETE STOP ON A BUSY HIGHWAY AND RESTART THE CAR. IT WAS VERY ALARMING AND DANGEROUS. *TR
WHILE DRIVING HOME MY ALARM SYSTEM LIGHT BLINKED ON THEN STAYED ON. THE HEADLIGHTS SHUT OFF AND TURNED ON. HAD TO DISCONNECT AND RECONNECT ALARM. NOW ALARM WILL NOT WORK AND THE TRUNK/DOORS OPEN OR UNLOCK RANDOMLY, RADIO TURNS OFF, LIGHTS TURN OFF. PROBLEM HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR A FEW WEEKS NOW NOONE IN TOWN KNOWS HOW TO FIX. *TR
1- THE CAR WAS COMING TO A STOP AT A RED LIGHT WHEN IT JUST COMPLETELY TURNED OFF. LIGHTS, POWER LOCKS, WINDOWS, RADIO, THE CAR, EVERYTHING. WOULD NOT START AFTER THAT. AFTER ABOUT 5 MINUTES OF SITTING AT THE RED LIGHT WITH A COMPLETELY DEAD CAR (WITH MY KEYS IN MY LAP) THE CAR STARTED ON ITS OWN. 2- WENT TO GET INTO MY CAR AFTER COMING OUT OF THE STORE - THE CAR WAS TRYING TO REBOOT ITSELF. ALL THE ACCESSORIES WOULD TURN ON, BUT THE CAR REMAINED DEAD AND WOULD NOT START. LET SIT FOR ABOUT 5-8 MINUTES (AFTER IT TRIED TO START ITSELF ABOUT 5 TIMES) - I COULD START THE CAR 3- CAME OUT OF THE STORE AND IT WAS ONCE AGAIN, COMPLETELY DEAD WHERE NOTHING WORK (COULD NOT LOCK OR UNLOCK THE DOORS EVEN). ABOUT 10 MINUTES AFTER OF LETTING IT SIT, THE LOCKS STARTED CLICKING (AS IN UNLOCKING, LOCKING, UNLOCKING, LOCKING). THEN IT STARTED ON ITS OWN, WITH MY KEYS IN MY LAP. *TT
WHEN WE TURN THE IGNITION KEY THE ENGINE STARTS BUT THE KEY REMAINS IN START AND DOESN'T RETURN TO RUN.WE GET NO GAUGES, NO POWER WINDOWS,AND OBVIOUSLY NO AIR BAGS,AND NO RADIO. IF WE BARELY TOUCH KEY THE CAR SHUTS OFF. WE WERE FORTUNATE TO BE ABLE TO PARK AND FIGURE OUT THAT YOU HAD TO PHYSICALLY AND CAREFULLY TURN THE KEY TO RUN. THE CAR DIED 9 OUT OF 10 TIMES. WE HAD JUST BOUGHT THE CAR AND THE DEALER HAD EARLIER SHAVED THE CARS KEY TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM. THE DEALER THEN HAD THE LOCK CHANGED BY A CERTIFIED LOCKSMITH. WE CONTACTED GM TO VERIFY THAT THE NEW IGNITION THAT THE LOCKSMITH PUT IN WASN'T DEFECTIVE,(NOT THAT WE QUESTION THE LOCKSMITH)AND WAS TOLD THE CAR WASN'T ON THE RECALL. WHEN WE ASKED WHETHER THEY COULD TELL IF THE LOCK WAS OK,OR IF THE PROBLEM WAS DEEPER IN THE IGNITION THEY SAID WE WOULD HAVE TO PAY $110 JUST TO FIND OUT,AND IF IT WAS DEFECTIVE,$300 MORE. NOW WE'VE CONTACTED GM AND GOT A FILE NUMBER,AND GUESS WHAT? THEY'RE BLOWING US OFF. WE NEVER EVEN KNEW ABOUT THE PROBLEM UNTIL THE RECALL NEWS 2/14.THE RECALL NEEDS EXPANDING. AND WE NEED TO KNOW IF THE LOCKS A LOCKSMITH MIGHT BUY TO REPLACE, IS ALSO BAD. GM REFUSES TO GIVE THAT INFO. AND THEY SAY THEY HAVEN'T GOT THE PARTS TO REPAIR THEIR PROBLEM ANYWAY. THE BRAKE LIGHTS ON MY 2005 PONTIAC G6 DO NOT WORK PROPERLY. AT TIMES, THEY WILL TURN ON WHEN I PRESS THE GAS PEDAL AND THEY WILL ALSO JUST COME ON RANDOMLY. NINE TIMES OUT OF TEN WHEN I PRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL THEY DON'T COME ON AT ALL. AFTER TAKING MY CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP, THEY TOLD ME IT WAS MY BRAKE SENSOR. THEY REPLACED IT, I PAID MY EXTREMELY HIGH BILL AND THEN THE NEXT DAY I GOT PULLED OVER BY A POLICE OFFICER BECAUSE MY BRAKE LIGHTS WERE NOT WORKING. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID TO BRING MY CAR BACK IN. I TOOK MY CAR BACK AND THEY SAID THERE WAS CORROSION IN THE BRAKE LINES. THEY FIXED THAT, I PAID MY EXTREMELY HIGH BILL AND LEFT. A FEW DAYS LATER, MY BRAKE LIGHTS STILL DID NOT WORK. I EVEN TOOK MY G6 IN FOR THE RECALL ABOUT THE BRAKE LIGHTS. THAT DIDN'T WORK FOR LONG EITHER! I TRIED TO PUT DIELECTRIC GREASE WHERE PONTIAC IS CLAIMING THERE IS CORROSION CAUSING THE BRAKES TO SELDOM WORK. THEY WORKED FOR ABOUT 2 MONTHS AND JUST RECENTLY MY BRAKE LIGHTS STOPPED WORKING AGAIN. I HAVE HAD MY CAR LOOKED AT BY THREE DIFFERENT MECHANICS AND NO ONE CAN GIVE ME AN ANSWER OR A SOLUTION. I'VE BEEN PULLED OVER FOUR TIMES IN THE PAST FEW MONTHS DUE TO THIS DANGEROUS ISSUE. WITHOUT BRAKE LIGHTS WORKING PROPERLY, MY CAR IS AN ACCIDENT WAITING TO HAPPEN. I WITNESSED THE BRAKE LIGHTS STAY ON DURING TIMES WHEN THE LIGHTS SHOULD NOT BE ON. PULLING UP TO A STOP, I WITNESSED THE BRAKE LIGHTS GO OUT. THE ISSUES STARTED BY THE CRUISE CONTROL UNEXPECTEDLY DISENGAGING WHILE DRIVING. IT HAS NOW PROGRESSED TO IT THE CRUISE CONTROL COMES ON WHEN YOU PRESS THE BRAKE. THAT WAS ALMOST A YEAR AGO. NOW, THE CRUISE CONTROL STARTS WHEN THE BRAKE IS PRESSED. HOWEVER, WHEN IT COMES ON WITH THE BRAKE IT STAYS ON APPROXIMATELY 11-12 SECONDS AND THE DISENGAGES. THE BRAKE LIGHTS COME ON WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL IS NOT BEING PRESSED. WHEN, THE BRAKES ARE BEING PRESSED THE BRAKE LIGHTS DO NOT ALWAYS COME ON. THESE ISSUES HAVE BEEN HAPPENING SINCE SPRING OF 2012.I HAVE TAKEN MY VEHICULAR TO GMC BEFORE AND I WAS TOLD THEIR WERE NO RECALLS AND THEY HAVE NEVER HEARD OF MY PROBLEMS BEFORE. BUT, IF I PAY THERE DIAGNOSTIC FEE TO FIND OUT WHAT'S WRONG IN THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM THAT THEY CAN REPLACE THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM BUT IT WOULD BE A COSTLY REPAIR. IT IS A WELL DOCUMENTED PROBLEM WITH THESE CARS AND IT IS RELATED TO CORROSION ON THE BCM. THIS HAS HAPPENED TWICE TO ME IN THIS CAR. PONTIAC HAS NEVER ISSUED A RECALL, THEIR WAY OF FIXING IT IS PUTTING DIELECTRIC GREASE ON THE CONNECTORS AND CALLING IT GOOD. IT WORKED FOR ME FOR ABOUT A YEAR, AND THE PROBLEM HAS RESURFACED....WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE INTERSTATE AT 65MPH. FAULTY BRAKE LAMPS ARE AN EXTREME DANGER TO ANYONE DRIVING THE VEHICLE. *TR

THERE WAS A RECALL RELATED TO THE FAILURE ASSOCIATED WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 14V252000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM , ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL , EXTERIOR LIGHTING , SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC , VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL); HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THE BODY CONTROL MODULE WAS REPLACED. THREE MONTHS AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE DEFECT. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 62,000.
