"TAKATA RECALL" WHEN I TURN ON CAR A RED SYMBOL OF AIR BAG COMES ON DASH BOARD AND A LOAD TICKING SOUND THAT CAN BE HEARD INSIDE AS WELL AS OUTSIDE OF CAR. DOES NOT GO OFF TICKS WHEN CAR IS IN MOTION.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 PONTIAC G6. WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, THE STEERING WHEEL SEIZED. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED BEFORE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE AND THEN TAKEN TO LAMBERT BUICK GMC (2409 FRONT ST, CUYAHOGA FALLS, OH 44221). THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSIS OR REPAIR THE VEHICLE DUE TO THE HIGH MILEAGE. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TAKEN TO VANDEVERE CHEVROLET (1490 VERNON ODOM BLVD, AKRON, OH 44320) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE POWER STEERING ASSIST AND TORQUE SENSOR FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 195,336.
POWER STEERING WENT OUT AND I FOUND OUT IT HAS BEEN FIXED BEFORE UNDER WARRANTY BEFORE I BOUGHT IT! AND YES I WAS DRIVING THE CAR! ALSO THE SHIFTER HAS ISSUES!
MY 2006 PONTIAC LOST ITS POWER STEERING I WAS IN MOTION, IN A PARKING LOT, IT WAS VERY DIFFICULT TO STEER IT DID COME BACK BUT IT WAS SCARY I WAS TOLD IT HAD A RECALL I CALLED THE COMPANY THEY SAID IT ENDED IN 2006 I DID NOT OWN THE VEHICLE THEN. THE MAN ( DANNY HE CALLED HIMSELF AT PONTIAC) SAID I WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR THE CARS DIAGNOSTICS AND REPAIR. I NEED HELP!
UNDER HARD ACCELERATION AND AT HIGH SPEEDS THE POWER STEERING IN THE VEHICLE BEGINS TO FAIL AND ALL OF THE ELECTRICAL LIGHTS ON THE DASH BEGINS TO FLASH AND BLINK IN A SHORTAGE TYPE OF WAY. THE VEHICLE BECOMES ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO CONTROL. THERE IS A CLUNKING NOISE IN THE STEERING WHEEL WHEN YOU TURN IT LEFT TO RIGHT. IF YOUR GOING AROUND A CORNER AND HIT THE GAS OR USE HARD ACCELERATION YOU LOOSE STEERING CONTROL.
WHILE DRIVING MY VEHICLE DOWN A CITY STREET THE STEERING JUST LOCKED UP ON ME. I COULDN'T TURN THE WHEEL. STOPPED THE VEHICLE PARKED AND RESTARTED THE VEHICLE I WAS ABLE TO GET THE STEERING TO WORK. I HAVE RESEARCHED THIS ISSUE ONLINE AND FOUND SEVERAL COMPLAINTS. HOWEVER, WHEN I WENT ON GM WEBSITE AND ENTER MY VIN# IT SHOWS NO RECALLS; SAME ON YOUR SITE. I WANT TO REPORT THIS BECAUSE THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE I COULD HAVE BEEN IN THE PROCESSING OF TURNING LEFT OR RIGHT AND COULD HAVE HAD A SERIOUS FATAL ACCIDENT!
THE STEERING COLUM BECAME VERY HARD TO TURN WHILE DRIVING.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 PONTIAC G6. WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH AND MAKING A RIGHT TURN, THE STEERING WHEEL FAILED TO MOVE. ADDITIONALLY, WHEN THE GEAR SHIFTER WAS IN THE PARK POSITION, THE POWER STEERING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE LOCAL DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 150,000.
THERE IS A GASOLINE SMELL COMING FROM MY CAR AT ALL TIMES. I DID RESEARCH AND THERE ARE SEVERAL COMPLAINTS REGARDING THIS PROBLEM FOR THE SAME EXACT CAR. THIS IS DEFINITELY A SAFETY PROBLEM AND NEEDS TO BE FIXED. I BELIEVE IT'S A CRACK IN THE FUEL TANK OR HOSE. I'VE NOTICED SINCE A COUPLE OF WEEKS AGO.
WHILE DRIVING , BRAKE LIGHTS COME ON ,STAY ON GO OFF INTERMITTENTLY. ALSO ON OFF CRUISE CONTROL , CAR STUCK IN PARK , WON'T RELEASE .
THE DRIVER SIDE HEADLI HEADLIGHT HAS BEEN CHANGED 3 TIMES AND THE CONNECTOR CHANGED AND IT IS CONSTANTLY GOING OUT. I WENT ONLINE TO SEE WHAT ELSE TO DO AND IT SEEMS LIKE MANY OTHER PEOPLE ARE HAVING A PROBLEM TOO. I CHANGE IT AND WITHIN A MONTH TO 2 MONTHS IT WILL GO OUT AGAIN.
AUTO TRANSMISSION:LEVER AND LINKAGE:FLOOR SHIFT: IT IS LIKE THE VEHICLE IS IN NEUTRAL AND NOT SHIFTING INTO GEAR INCLUDING PARK.
.SUDDEN LOSS OF ELECTRIC POWER STEERING , OUT OF NO WHERE WHILE IM DRIVING ON STREET OR HIGHWAY. THEN SOMETIMES WHEN TURNING CAR ON THE POWER STEERING LIGHT COMES ON I'LL TURN THE CAR OFF AND TURN IT BACK ON A FEW TIMES AND IT WILL GO AWAY. STEERING WILL ALSO JERKS TO THE RIGHT WHILE DRIVING I HAVE GOTTEN INNER AND OUTER TIRE RODS DONE NEW TIRES AND A NEW BATTERY STILL HAVING AN ISSUE SUSPENSIONS ARE FINE.
POWER STEERING LIGHT SOMETIMES COMES ON, BUT THE POWER STEERING INTERMITTENTLY STOPS WORKING WHILE DRIVING. THEN IT WILL START AGAIN. THERE IS USUALLY NO LIGHT OR WARNING BEFORE IT GOES TEMPORARILY GOES OUT. THIS HAS HAPPENED IN THE MIDDLE OF TURNS AT LOW SPEEDS, WHILE TURNING, MOSTLY ON CITY STREETS.
TURNING THE WHEEL IS VERY HARD AT DEAD STOP TO A SLOW SPEED. EX: RED TO GREEN LIGHT TURNING BAY. AS IT SHOULD TURN FAIRLY EASILY IT IS A STRUGGLE AND A HALF TO TURN CAUSING A WIDE TURN. ON THE HIGHWAY YOU BASICALLY HAVE TO JERK IT TO GET OVER IN TIME. NOT TO MENTION IT ALREADY HAS AN ALIGNMENT PROBLEM AS WELL WHEN I WAS LEASED THE CAR.

THE VEHICLE WAS PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S HOME. THE CONTACT CALLED JOSEPH BUICK GMC (8700 COLERAIN AVE, CINCINNATI, OH 45251, (513) 741-1000) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT UNDER WARRANTY; THEREFORE, THE CONTACT WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR THE REMEDY. THE CONTACT STATED THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V064000 (STEERING) IN 2015. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 193,000.
7 DIFFERENT MAJOR ISSUES
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 PONTIAC G6. WHILE THE CONTACT'S WIFE WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL JERKED AND BECAME DIFFICULT TO MANEUVER. THE POWER STEERING AND ESC WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO CHEVROLET BUICK GMC CADILLAC OF MURFREESBORO (960 JOHN R RICE BLVD, MURFREESBORO, TN 37129, (615) 645-1075) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TORQUE SENSOR ASSEMBLY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V153000 (STEERING). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED PER THE RECALL AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: 8-3808185085. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,000.
TAKATA RECALL - MY SERVICE AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON AND IS STAYING LIT WITH A MESSAGE ALSO DISPLAYING ON MY RADIO "SERVICE AIRBAG". THIS MALFUNCTION WARNS ME AS SOON AS I TURN THE CAR ON, WHILE DRIVING, AND REMAINS IN EFFECT. MAJOR SAFETY HAZARD!
ABS AND TRACTION CONTROL LIGHTS ON DASH CAME ON DURING A ROUTINE DRIVE, AND REMAIN ON. HAD MECHANIC INSPECT- CONCLUDED THAT BOTH SENSORS WORKING, MALFUNCTION DUE TO NO ELECTRICITY BEING DELIVERED. AS A RESULT, CRITICAL CRASH AVOIDANCE FEATURES (BOTH ANTI-LOCK BRAKE AND TRACTION CONTROL ARE CRITICAL) ARE DISABLED / FAILING. REPAIR WOULD REQUIRE TRACING WIRE BACK TO POINT OF ISSUE. BEFORE HAVING A PRIVATE MECHANIC ADDRESS, I LEARNED OF RECALL FOR THIS SPECIFIC ISSUE (NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V252000) EFFECTIVE AUG 18, 2014, WHEREBY GM TO ADDRESS WIRING HARNESS WITH SPACERS AND DIELECTRICAL LUBRICANT. CONTACTED GENERAL MOTORS ON THIS AND TOLD NO OPEN RECALL; TOLD THAT IT WAS ALREADY ADDRESSED BY SERVICE AT DEVAN CHEVROLET, WILTON CT ON AUG 13, 2015. I DO ACKNOWLEDGE THAT I HAD THE CAR AT THAT DEALER / SERVICE CENTER ON THAT DATE FOR ANOTHER MATTER- I HAD NO ISSUES OR SYMPTOMS WITH ABS AND TRACTION CONTROL WHILE ITS POSSIBLE THAT DURING THAT VISIT THEY ACTIONED THE REMEDY DETAILED IN THE RECALL, HOWEVER, AS THERE WAS NO NOTED ISSUE AT THAT TIME, I AM NOT SURE THEY DID ANYTHING THAT MADE A DIFFERENCE. NOW THAT THE SYMPTOMS ARE PERSISTENT, GM APPEARS TO DECLARE NO REPAIR IS REQUIRED UNDER THE RECALL.
TAKATA INFLATORS. THE AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT FOR THE PASSENGER SIDE COMES ON WHEN CAR IS STARTED. STAYS ON. ALSO THE RADIO DISPLAY HAS SERVICE AIRBAG MESSAGE ON IT ALL THE TIME WHEN DRIVING. THE MECHANIC STATES IT IS THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG THAT IS CAUSING THE PROBLEM.

I WAS DRIVING ONE DAY, AND I WENT TO MAKE A RIGHT TURN AND ALL OF A SUDDEN THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP AND THE POWER STEERING DISPLAYED ON THE DASH. IT HAS BEEN HAPPENING SINCE AND MECHANICS DON'T WANT TO WORK ON IT BECAUSE OF THE AREA IT'S IN. IT'S BEEN GOING ON FOR ALMOST 1YR, AND IT'S REALLY ANNOYING AND TIRING.

THE BRAKE LIGHTS STARTED COMING ON WITHOUT THE PEDAL BEING PUSHED.THEN THE BATTERY STARTED GOING DEAD RANDOMLY WHEN PARKED.THEN ALL DASHLIGHTS FLICKERING ,POWER LOCKS LOCKING AND UNLOCKING THERESELF,AND LOST ACCELERATING POWER AND SHUT OFF ,ALL HAPPENED WHILE IN MOTION ON CITY STREET.HAVE TROUBLE SWITCHING GEAR SHIFT OUT OF PARK.FRONT BRAKES ALSO LOCKING UP RANDOMLY WHEN DRIVING.

THE VEHICLE WAS LATER TAKEN TO STEVE MOORE CHEVROLET DEALER, LOCATED AT 9325 SOUTH BLVD, CHARLOTTE, NC 28273 WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE POWER STEERING TORQUE SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14E044000 (STEERING). THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 214,000.

I OWN A 2006 PONTIAC G6 AND POWER STEERING KEEPS SHUTTING OFF WHILE DRIVING THE CAR AT ANY SPEED SINCE ABOUT MIDDLE OF DECEMBER 2017 AND HAS GOTTEN WORSE. I LOOKED UP ISSUE THAT I WAS HAVING ON THE INTERNET AND FOUND THAT THE YEAR MODEL THAT I OWN FALLS WITHIN A RECALL FOR FAULTY POWER STEERING PARTS.TRIED TAKING TO GM OFFICE ON MY ISSUE AND THEY SAID BEST THEY COULD DO IS FOR ME TO TAKE IT TO DEALERSHIP AND HAVE IT CHECKED AND THAT THERE DOESN'T SHOW A RECALL ON MY VEHICLE. I DON'T KNOW WHERE TO GO WITH THIS, DON'T HAVE THE MONEY TO SPEND ON DEALERSHIP TO CHECK IT OUT JUST TO TAKE A CHANCE THAT GM WON'T TAKE CARE OF THE SAFETY ISSUE THE DEFECTIVE POWER STEERING PARTS HAS CAUSED. I READ A LOT OF FORUMS WHERE CUSTOMERS OF GM HAVE HAD ISSUES WITH THIS AND GM HAS CHOSE NOT TO CORRECT THE ISSUE AND I THINK THIS ISN'T IN THE BEST INTERESTS OF THE CUSTOMER OR THE MOTORING PUBLICS SAFETY. ANY HELP ON THIS MATTER WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.

FUTHERMORE, THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTED HARD WHEN PLACED IN GEAR. SUMMIT CHEVROLET BUICK GMC IN AUBURN, NEW YORK WAS MADE OF THE FAILURES AND STATED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS ON THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 122,000.

STEERING WHEEL STOPPED TURNING SUDDENLY WHILE DRIVING
POWER STEERING WENT OUT AND CAR BECAME UNSTABLE CAUSING MY CAR TO WOBBLE AND UNSAFE TO DRIVE COULDN'T GET IT REPAIRED WAS TOLD THERE WAS A RECALL ON CAR AND PARTS. ALMOST WREAKED MY CAR WHEN POWER STEERING WENT OUT ON THE INTERSTATE AND WAS ALMOST HIT BY 18 WHEELER HAD TO CALL FOR SOMEONE TO ASSIST TO GET CAR HOME. UNABLE TO DRIVE SAFELY.
GOT IN MY CAR AND HAD NO POWER STEERING. LOOKED UP MY CARS RECALLS BY VIN AND THEY SAY 0 RECALLS BUT IT SAYS ON ALL OTHER WEBSITES THERE IS. SO I WAS JUST WONDERING IF MAYBE IT WAS A MISTAKE.

OWNER OF A 2006 PONTIAC G6. STRONG SMELL OF GAS COMING FROM THE CAR. IT TAKES A 2ND ATTEMPT TO START THE CAR AS WELL. I'VE SEEN THERE ARE MANY OTHERS OVER THE YEARS WITH THE EXACT SAME EXPERIENCE BUT NO RECALL EVEN THOUGH THERE WAS A RECALL ON OTHER YEARS FOR THE SAME ISSUE BUT NOT THE 2006. SINCE WE'RE LONG PAST ANY WARRANTY, I HAD HOPES OF A RECALL BUT SINCE THERE ISN'T, I'M LOOKING AT OVER $1000 FOR PARTS AND LABOR TO FIX THE FUEL PUMP LINE NOW RIGHT BEFORE THE HOLIDAYS. MY TEENAGE DAUGHTER HAS BEEN DRIVING THIS CAR AND IT'S SCARY TO THINK WHAT COULD HAVE HAPPENED.

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN: ON NOVEMBER 03, 2017, MY 2006 PONTIAC G6 GTP, AUTOMOBILE WAS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT THAT FLIPPED AND CRASHED AND CAUSING SERIOUS INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS GOING STRAIGHT ON THE HWY AND THE CAR LOST STEERING POWER AND THE CAR WENT TO THE RIGHT OF THE HWY. I WAS SURPRISED TO LEARN AT THAT TIME THERE HAS BEEN SEVERAL RECALLS ISSUED ON THIS VEHICLE. SINCE PURCHASING THIS VEHICLE IN 2013, I HAVE ONLY RECEIVED ONE RECALL NOTICE IN 2015 AND I TOOK MY PONTIAC 06 G6 GTP TO OAKS GMC DEALER TO BE FIXED BY GM, AND I WAS NOT AWARE OF ANY OTHER RECALLS ABOUT THE POWER STEERING UNTIL I FOUND RESEARCH THROUGH NHTSA AFTER THE ACCIDENT, NHTSA RECALL IDENTIFICATION NUMBER 15V064000,
I HAVE HAD HIS PROBLEM LOOKED AT A FIXED EVERY SINCE I BOUGHT THE CAR BRAND NEW. THE BRAKE LIGHTS BLINK OFF AND ON WHEN YOU GO TO BRAKE YOU HAVE NO LIGHTS AT ALL. RECALL 13036 INCLUDING SPECIAL COVERAGE 16188 DID NOT FIX MY VEHICLE. MY VEHICLE HAS THE FOLLOWING PROBLEMS... -SERVICE BRAKE LAMPS ILLUMINATE WHEN THE SERVICE BRAKES ARE NOT BEING APPLIED -SERVICE BRAKE LAMPS WILL NOT ILLUMINATE WHEN THE SERVICE BRAKES ARE APPLIED -CRUISE CONTROL WILL NOT ENGAGE (THE ABOVE CONDITIONS HAVE HAPPENED WHEN THE CAR IS IN MOTION, STATIONARY, ON STREETS, HIGHWAYS, TURNING AND BRAKING.) -VEHICLE WILL SHIFT OUT OF PARK WITHOUT THE SERVICE BRAKES BEING APPLIED THESE ABOVE CONDITIONS ARE THE EXACT CONDITIONS THAT RECALL 13036 WAS TO HAVE FIXED. THE DEALERSHIP ADDRESSED THIS RECALL EARLIER THIS YEAR, AND THE VEHICLE IS STILL HAVING PROBLEMS. I CANNOT GET MY VEHICLE BACK FROM THE DEALERSHIP BECAUSE IT IS A VIOLATION OF FEDERAL LAW TO DELIVER THE VEHICLE TO ME UNTIL THE DEFECT IS REMEDIED. SERVICE TECHNICIAN SAYS THE BCM (BODY CONTROL MODULE) NEEDS REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WENT IN FOR RECALL, THE RECALL DIDNT FIX THE PROBLEM. I TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK AND AM TOLD THAT 1) THE PROBLEM IS THE BCM AND 2) I CANT HAVE THE VEHICLE BACK UNTIL THE PROBLEM IS FIXED. I AM NOT SATISFIED. THE VEHICLE PROBLEM IS NOT REMEDIED. I AM HAVING TO PAY TO GET THE VEHICLE REMEDIED. PONTIAC CUSTOMER SERVICE REFERS ME TO THE NHTSA. THE VEHICLE IS A SAFETY HAZARD TO THE DRIVER AND ANY PASSENGERS, AS WELL AS FELLOW MOTORISTS AROUND THE VEHICLE. FOR THE PAST 2 YEARS, MY HEADLIGHTS HAVE BARELY BEEN WORKING. EVER SINCE I'VE GOTTEN MY CAR I'VE HAD ISSUES WITH THEM AND HAVE HAD THEM REPLACED PLUS WIRING REDONE MORE THAN 3 TIMES. EACH TIME MY LOW BEAMS GO OUT. IT STARTED WITH ONE WORKING AND ONE NOT, AND QUICKLY LED TO BOTH GOING ON. THEY WILL NOT WORK. I'VE LOOKED IT UP AND HAVE SEEN MANY PEOPLE HAVING ISSUES WITH THIS, ALONG WITH MY FRIENDS MOM HAVING THE SAME EXACT CAR, DIFFERENT YEAR MIND YOU BUT THE SAME EXACT PROBLEM. I'VE LOOKED UP MY VIN FOR ANY POSSIBLE RECALLS AND CAN'T COME ACROSS ONE, EVEN THOUGH I'VE SEEN THIS HAS BEEN A BIG ISSUE FOR GM. MY INSPECTION IS COMING UP AND I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO ABOUT MY LIGHTS, AS THEY WON'T WORK NO MATTER HOW MUCH I FIX THEM. MY HIGH BEAMS DO SO I'VE BEEN HAVING TO DRIVE WITH THEM. THE BRAKE LIGHTS STICK ON. WHEN I APPLY THE BRAKE PEDAL THE BRAKE LIGHTS GO OFF. THERE IS A CONNECTOR DOWN ON PASSENGER SIDE BELOW RADIO THAT I FOUND OUT WAS SUPPOSEDLY RECALLED BUT NOTHING IS COMING UP AS A RECALL. I BOUGHT THIS CAR IN 2017 AND HAVE HAD ISSUES SINCE.
DRIVING ON WAY HOME FROM WORK, WHOLE TRIP NOTHING OVER 45 MPH, THE TRACTION CONTROL OFF LIGHT CAME ON AND STAYED ON. ITS THE LIGHT WITH TC AND A SLASH TROUGH IT. THE LIGHT TURNS OFF WHEN THE CAR IS IN PARK OR NEUTRAL BUT COMES ON WHEN SHIFTER IS IN REVERSE OR DRIVE. AFTER THE LIGHT CAME ON I NOTICED EXTREMELY SLUGGISH ENGINE PERFORMANCE, EXTREMELY HARD SHIFTING ALL THE WAY THROUGH 4TH GEAR WITH BAD SLAMS COMING FROM THE TRANSMISSION. AFTER ABOUT 30 MINS OF DRIVING WITH THE LIGHT STILL ON, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON AND I CAN BARELY GET GOING FROM A STOP LIGHT. I PARKED IT FOR THE NIGHT TO WORK ON IT THE NEXT DAY, AND TO MY SURPRISE THE NEXT MORNING THE TC OFF LIGHT WAS GONE AND AFTER ABOUT 10 MINS OF DRIVING THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT GOES OUT AND THE CAR RUNS AND DRIVES LIKE NORMAL. THE NEXT DAY IT ALL HAPPENED OVER AGAIN WITH ALL THE SAME ISSUES AND THEN THE WARNING LIGHTS WENT OUT AGAIN AND THE CAR RAN FINE. THEN FOR A THIRD DAY IT ALL HAPPENED AGAIN AND NOW THE ENGINE SEEMS TO HAVE NO POWER, I MIGHT AS WELL BE PUSHING THE CAR DOWN THE STREET. THIS HAPPENED IN THE MIDDLE OF MY DRIVES ON A NORMAL NO WET WEATHER DAY. THE DEALERSHIP AND A PRIVATE GARAGE TRIED READING THE CODES THROUGH THE CONNECTOR UNDER MY STEARING WHEEL AND NO BODIES READER CAN CONNECT TO THE ECU. I CHECKED ALL THE FUSES AND RELAYS AND NONE ARE BLOWN OR DAMAGED. I KNOW THE G6 HAD RECALLS FOR THIS ISSUE A FEW YEARS AGO AND MY CAR WASN'T INCLUDED IN THIS BUT IT SOUNDS LIKE THE SAME ISSUE. I CAN GET UNDER THE CAR AND LOOK FOR ANY MELTED WIRES OR GROUND FAULTS BUT I WOULDNT KNOW WHERE TO BEGIN. LOOKING ONLINE THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE EXPERIENCING THIS SAME EXACT ISSUE. TC OFF LIGHT COMING ON AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMING ON WITH AN EXPENSIVE REPAIR OR NO SOLUTION AVAILABLE. THIS IS CAUSING MY VEHICLE TO HAVE LITTLE TO NO ACCELERATION AND REALLY SPOTTY SHIFTING. IT HAPPENS EVERYDAY AT RANDOM TIMES.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 PONTIAC G6. THE CONTACT NOTICED A FUEL LEAK UNDERNEATH THE REAR CENTER END OF THE VEHICLE. WHEN ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE, THE VEHICLE WOULD "KICK" BEFORE ACCELERATING FORWARD AND STALL WHEN INITIALLY ATTEMPTING TO START THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT WOULD HAVE TO TURN THE IGNITION KEY A FEW TIMES BEFORE THE VEHICLE WOULD SUCCESSFULLY START. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A CERTIFIED MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT FUEL WAS LEAKING INTO THE EXHAUST DUE TO A FAULTY FUEL PUMP AND FRACTURE ON THE SEAL TO THE FUEL TANK. THE MECHANIC DIAGNOSED THAT THE SEAL AND/OR THE FUEL PUMP NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 134,000.
MY CAR HAS BEEN RECALLED TWICE DUE TO ELECTRIC STEERING. THE POWER STEERING INTERMITTENTLY KEEPS GOING OUT WELL DRIVING AND OR JUST STARTING THE CAR. I HAVE CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY ONLY GUARANTEE THE PARTS REPLACED FOR 90 DAYS. SO THEY AREN'T BACKING THE PARTS PUT ON TO MAKE THE VEHICLE SAFER. THE CAR ALSO HAS SEVERE ELECTRICAL ISSUES. IT HAS LOCKED ME IN THE CAR AND HAS SERVICE AIR BAG NOTICES. THE GAUGES GO OUT WELL DRIVING.
PONTIAC REPAIRED THE ELECTRIC POWER STEERING IN AUGUST 2015 UNDER RECALL 15V-64000. THE PROBLEM HAS RETURNED TWO YEARS LATER. PONTIAC/GM SAYS THAT ONCE THEY MAKE REPAIRS UNDER THE RECALL THE REPAIRS ARE ONLY WARRANTED FOR 12 MONTHS CONTRARY TO THEIR 150,000 MILE WARRANTY. WARNING APPEARS EVERY TIME YOUR START THE VEHICLE INDICATING A PROBLEM WITH THE POWER STEERING.
WHILE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED ON ANY TYPE OF SURFACE, TRYING TO MAINTAIN A STRAIGHT DIRECTION, THE STEERING WHEEL MAKES SMALL JERKS IN ONE DIRECTION, THEN RELEASES JUST AS YOU HAVE COMPENSATED FOR THE INITIAL JERK CAUSING YOU TO MOVE ABRUPTLY TO THE OTHER DIRECTION. THIS CONTINUES CAUSING YOU TO MAKE ONGOING SMALL CORRECTIONS AND YOUR OVERALL PATH TO ZIG-ZAG. THIS ALONE HAS NEARLY CAUSED ME TO COLLIDE WITH ONCOMING TRAFFIC WHILE DRIVING ON NARROW ROADS. OCCASIONALLY, THE POWER STEERING ASSIST STOPS WORKING ENTIRELY, REQUIRING ADDITIONAL EFFORT TO STEER THE VEHICLE. THERE ARE RECALLS FOR THIS EXACT PROBLEM (TORQUE SENSOR ASSEMBLY) IN THE SAME MAKE/MODEL/YEAR JUST NOT FOR MY PARTICULAR VEHICLE (GM TELLS ME, MY VEHICLE'S MANUFACTURED DATE DOES NOT FALL INTO THE RECALL, EVEN THOUGH IT IS THE SAME EXACT PROBLEM).

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN AT A PARKING LOT OF A SCHOOL, THE CONTACT DROVE VERY SLOWLY AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, THE BRAKE PEDAL FAILED TO RESPOND WHEN DEPRESSED AND IN ADDITION THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED TO AN UNKNOWN SPEED. THE POWER STEERING FAILED TO TURN LEFT OR RIGHT. THE FAILURE OCCURRED WITHOUT WARNING. THE FAILURE CAUSED THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE TO CRASH INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE, WHICH MADE THE VEHICLE COME TO A STOP. ONLY THE AIR BAG ON THE POWER STEERING WHEEL DEPLOYED. THE OTHER AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED A BACK INJURY THAT DID NOT REQUIRE MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBERS: 14V252000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, EXTERIOR LIGHTING, VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL, ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL), 14V153000 (STEERING) AND 14V224000 (POWER TRAIN) HOWEVER, THE PARTS TO DO THE REPAIR WERE UNAVAILABLE.
