STEERING SHAFT TORQUE SENSOR WAS REPLACED 2014 AS PART OF RECALL. NOW IN 2016 IT HAS WENT DEFECTIVE AND GM WILL NOT HONOR WARRANTY. NEVER HAD A PROBLEM ONE FOR THE FIRST 8 YEARS I OWNED THIS CAR. NOW THE STEERING GOES OUT WHILE I'M LEAVING A GROCERY STORE. I TURNED OFF AND BACK ON IN ORDER TO GET IT BACK HOME. ITS UNSAFE TO DRIVE AND ITS SUPPOSED TO COST ME, $1400 TO REMEDY? *TR
MY BRAKE LIGHTS STAY ON EVEN WHEN IM DRIVING AND NOT APPLYING ANY BRAKES ON MY 2006 G6 PONTIAC...
MY CAR HAD A PREVIOUS RECALL OF POWER STEERING PROBLEMS, AND THAT RECALL WAS SUPPOSEDLY FIXED IN EARLY 2014. I PURCHASED THE CAR IN OCTOBER 2015, NOW A LITTLE LATER THAN A YEAR, I HAVE THE EXACT PROBLEMS OF THE RECALL. WHICH IS "YOUR VEHICLE EQUIPPED WITH EPS MAY EXPERIENCE A SUDDEN LOSS OF POWER STEERING ASSIST THAT COULD OCCUR AT ANY TIME WHILE DRIVING. IF THE POWER STEERING ASSIST IS LOST, A MESSAGE IS DISPLAYED ON THE DRIVER INFORMATION CENTER AND A CHIME SOUNDS TO INFORM THE DRIVER. STEERING CONTROL CAN BE MAINTAINED, AS THE VEHICLE WILL REVERT TO A MANUAL STEERING MODE, BUT WOULD REQUIRE GREATER DRIVER EFFORT AT LOW VEHICLE SPEEDS, WHICH COULD RESULT IN AN INCREASED RISK OF A CRASH.". MY CAR HAS THESE EXACT ISSUES EVEN THOUGH IT HAD BEEN "FIXED 2 YEARS AGO". I BELIEVE MY CAR WAS NEVER ACTUALLY FIXED IN A CORRECT WAY, OTHERWISE I WOULDN'T BE IN SAFETY HAZARD TRYING TO DRIVE A CAR WHOSE POWER STEERING LOCKS UP WHEN DRIVING. NOW I AM BEING FORCED TO ACTUALLY GET IT FIXED FROM A GM DEALERSHIP OUT OF POCKET. THIS POWER STEERING PROBLEM SHOULD BE FIXED FREE OF CHARGE, BECAUSE IF IT WAS ACTUALLY "FIXED" 2 YEARS AGO I WOULDN'T HAVE THIS ISSUE AND I AM NO BEING FORCED TO PAY $575 TO DRIVE MY CAR SAFELY. AS IT SHOULD ALREADY BE A SAFE CAR TO DRIVE IN AS GM ADVERTISES. *TR
POWER STEERING LOCKS UP WHILE STATIONARY AND WHILE IN MOTION. DASH BOARD BEGINS TO CHIME WHILE THIS HAPPENS.
MY CAR WAS RUNNING JUST FINE. ALL OF A SUDDEN ON A VERY RAINY NIGHT, THE CAR WOULD NOT CATCH GEAR IT WOULD TAKE ABOUT 5 SECONDS TO RUN SMOOTHLY. ABOUT 8 MINUTES LATER WHEN I GOT TO THE FREEWAY IT DROVE SMOOTHLY. THE NEXT DAY AFTER DRIVING THE CAR ABOUT 20 MINUTES IT STARTED DOING THE SAME THING AGAIN, BUT THIS TIME IT STARTED BURNING. I STOPPED TO LET IT COOL AND CHECKED ALL THE FLUIDS, EVERYTHING WAS OK. I TRIED TO DRIVE MY CAR 10 MINUTES TO MAKE IT TO MY HOUSE. WHILE REVERSING A LOT POP HAPPENED. I STOPPED AND LOOKED AND PINK FLUID WAS RUNNING DOWN THE PARKING LOT. I TRIED TO MOVE THE CAR OUT THE WAY BUT THE STEERING WHEEL WAS HARD TO TURN. AFTER AN HOUR I WAS ABLE TO TAKE IT TO A RELATIVES HOUSE AFTER REFILLING THE CAR WITH POWER STEERING FLUID. AFTER 2 HOURS OF SITTING WE TRIED TO TAKE IT TO MY HOUSE AND AS WE LEFT THE CAR LOCKED UP. THE ENGINE RAN BUT THE TIRES WERE GETTING NO ROTATION. WE WERE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD FOR ABOUT AN HOUR WHILE A MECHANIC TOOK THE BRAKE CALIBER AND BRAKE PADS OFF, SO WE WERE ABLE TO MOVE THE CAR OUT THE WAY. I AM PAYING ON A CAR THAT I HAVE NOT HAD FOR SIX MONTHS AND IS NOT WORKING. *TR
THE STEERING WHEEL TORQUE SENSOR WAS REPLACED BY TRACY CHEVROLET IN OCTOBER 2014 AS PART OF A RECALL ON THIS VEHICLE. AT THE TIME IT WAS REPLACED THE CAR HAD 140,000 MILES ON IT AND CURRENTLY HAS 160,000 MILES ON IT.. SO AFTER 20,000 MILES THE STEERING TORQUE SENSOR HAS GONE BAD.. AFTER TALKING TO THE DEALER I'M TOLD THEY REPLACED IT AND THE WARRANTY WAS ONLY ONE YEAR. HOWEVER, FOR THIS PART TO GO BAD SO SOON MAKES ME QUESTION IF IT WAS EVER REPLACED OR REPLACED WITH A DEFECTIVE PRODUCT. I AM LOOKING FOR SOME SORT OF HELP WITH THIS BECAUSE I CAN'T IMAGINE HOW THE CAR WENT 140,000 MILES BEFORE IT WAS REPLACED AND ONLY 20,000 WITH THE "NEW SENSOR"??
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 PONTIAC G6. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY, THE BRAKE LIGHTS REMAINED ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED TWICE, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000.
COMING OFF OF THE HIGHWAY THE CARS STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP AND WOULD NOT LET ME TURN IT NOR WOULD MY BRAKE WORK. THE CAR DID A COMPLETE 360 AND SMASHED INTO THE GUARD RAIL ON THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY. I WAS ONLY GOING 40 MILES PER HOUR AND ALL OF THE ROAD CONDITIONS WERE CLEAR. THERE WERE NO CARS AROUND ME AND PRIOR TO THE ACCIDENT I HAD ALL CONTROL OF THE CAR. FOR ADDITIONAL DETAIL, THE MECHANIC AND DEALERSHIP STATED THAT WHEN THEY PLUGGED THE CAR INTO THE ELECTRICAL CODE FINDER THAT THEY COULD NOT GENERATE A CODE THAT SHOWED THE WHEEL OR CAR LOCKED UP.

WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL VEERED LEFT TO RIGHT, THE POWER STEERING WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED, AND THE VEHICLE LOST ALL POWER STEERING ABILITY. THE VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY REPAIRED PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V064000 (STEERING). THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE STEERING TORQUE SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 160,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 PONTIAC G6. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS AND MAKING A LEFT OR RIGHT TURN, THE POWER STEERING SUDDENLY MALFUNCTIONED. THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME VERY DIFFICULT TO TURN AND A GRINDING NOISE COULD BE HEARD. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. AFTER SEVERAL MINUTES, THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO DRIVE NORMALLY. THE FAILURE OCCURRED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THERE WAS A MALFUNCTION IN THE STEERING COLUMN MODULE AND THE STEERING COLUMN MODULE NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS AT THE DEALER AWAITING PARTS FOR THE REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V064000 (STEERING). THE VIN WAS INVALID. BRAKES LIGHTS WORK IN REVERSE. WHILE DRIVING THE BRAKE LIGHTS ARE ILLUMINATED AND WHEN I PUT THE BRAKES ON THE LIGHTS GO DIM. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE. I RECENTLY PURCHASED THIS CAR 2ND HAND AND WAS UNAWARE OF THIS PROBLEM.
WHILE DRIVING, THE CAR WOULD GO TO LOWER SPEED AND STOP, MAKING LOUD GRINDING NOISE AFTER ABOUT 3 TO 5 MINUTES IT WOULD DRIVE AGAIN. IT SOUNDED AS IF THE ANTI SKID WAS ON, CAR ONLY HAS 66,000 MILES . THIS ALMOST CAUSED ME TO WRECK 3 TIMES. IT HAPPENED INTERMITTENTLY TURNING RIGHT OR LEFT ON CITY STREETS. *TR
I OWN A 2006 PONTIAC G6 THAT WITHIN THE LAST WEEK INCURRED A POWER STEERING FAILURE. , CAUSING ME TO HAVE A SMALL CRASH. RECALL RESEARCH SHOWS THAT ON MARCH 2014 THE NHTSA REQUIRED GM TO ISSUE A RECALL FOR THIS EXACT PROBLEM, HOWEVER, IT ONLY COVERED CERTAIN THE G6 MODELS UP TO THE YEAR 2009. THE SERVICE ADVISOR AT THE DEALERSHIP ACKNOWLEDGED THAT THE "PROBLEM" WAS VERY SIMILAR TO THE STEERING PROBLEM FOR EARLIER MODELS THAT ARE SUBJECT TO THE RECALL. HOWEVER, SINCE ONLY FEW SELECT CARS WERE INCLUDED IN THE NHTSA RECALL, THE COST TO REPAIR THE PROBLEM FALLS TO THE CONSUMER AND IS ESTIMATED TO BE IN THE $1,800 TO $2,000 RANGE. THIS IS CLEARLY A SAFETY ISSUE AND MIRRORS THE SAME CHARACTERISTIC'S AS EARLIER MODELS INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. WHILE I APPRECIATE GM'S WILLINGNESS TO "CONSIDER" THE MATTER, I URGE THE NHTSA TO RE-VISIT THE MODEL YEARS SUBJECT TO THE RECALL. THE CONSUMER SHOULD NOT BE BURDENED WITH THE COST OF REPAIRING WHAT IS OBVIOUSLY A DESIGN DEFECT. FURTHER AND MORE IMPORTANTLY IS SAFETY FOR THE PASSENGERS AND OTHER DRIVERS ON THE ROAD. I HOPE THAT THE NHTSA WILL INVESTIGATE THIS MATTER ACCORDINGLY AND AMEND THE POWER STEERING RECALL. THANK YOU.
THE STEERING WHEEL IS VERY STIFF TO MANEUVER, ESPECIALLY WHILE AT IDLE. BECOMES HARD TO TURN AT CURVES
RE: PONTIAC 2006 -G6 GT ELECT. SYSTEM, ELECT. STABILITY CONTROL, EXTERIOR LIGHTING, SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC, VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL --- THIS CAR WAS RECALLED FOR ABOVE PROBLEMS IN 2014. AT THAT TIME I BROUGHT CAR TO DEALER TO BE FIXED, ALTHOUGH THE CAR WAS NOT IN NEED OF REPAIR BECAUSE NO PROBLEMS HAD EXISTED, DEALER STATED HE FIXED ALL RECALL PROBLEMS AT THAT TIME. NOW TWO YEARS LATER I AM EXPERIENCING ALL THE LISTED PROBLEMS ABOVE. I TOOK CAR TO MECHANIC WHERE HE DID REPLACE PARTS BUT STILL EXPERIENCING PROBLEM. IT MUST GO BACK TO DEALER SO PROBLEM CAN BE ALLEVIATED. BRAKE LIGHTS DO NOT GO ON WHEN BRAKING ALSO WHEN APPLYING GAS THEY SOMETIMES GO ON. CRUISE CONTROL IS ALSO NOT WORKING. WHAT'S TO SAY THAT THIS PROBLEM WAS NEVER FIXED IN 2014 WHEN THE CAR WAS RECALLED DUE TO THE FACT THAT I WASN'T HAVING ANY ISSUES AT THAT TIME. HAD DO I KNOW THE WORK WAS EVER DONE THE FIRST TIME AROUND SINCE I WAS NOT IN THE SERVICE AREA AND I HAD NO PROBLEMS WITH THE CAR. WHAT'S TO SAY I WAS HANDED AN ITEMIZED LIST OF ALL CORRECTED PARTS AND INDEED IT WAS NEVER FIXED. I CALLED PONTIAC AND WAS TOLD SINCE IT WAS REPLACED WITH RECALL I HAVE TO NOW PAY OUT OF POCKET. ACCORDING TO NHTSA -THEY HAVE BEEN WORKING TO REDUCE DEATHS AND INJURIES ON THE ROADWAYS TO MAKE IT SAFER FOR THE PUBLIC. THEY ALSO NEED TO BE ON THE CUSTOMERS SIDE AND NOT THE SIDE OF THE DEALER. *TR
WHILE DRIVING THE POWER STEERING WILL CUT OUT WHEN TURNING MAKING IT HARD THE STEER THE CAR AND WITH THIS HAPPENING IT COULD HAVE CAUSED A SERIOUS ACCIDENT IF IT WOULD'VE HAPPENED IN A MAIN ROAD.

THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBERS: 14E044000 (STEERING) AND 14V153000 (STEERING). THE MANUFACTURER INDICATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A MANUFACTURER RECALL AND WOULD NEED TO BE TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE IF THE VEHICLE WOULD BE REPAIRED. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE.
MY VEHICLE HAS HAD AT LEAST POWER STEERING ASSIST FAILURES SINCE NEW. IT WAS REPAIRED UNDER RECALL THE LAST TIME IT WAS WORKED ON AND PERFORMED AS EXPECTED UNTIL MY DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING IT HOME FROM WORK ONE EVENING AND ONCE AGAIN THE STEERING WENT OUT. THIS HAPPENED WHILE SHE WAS DRIVING AT BETWEEN 55 AND 60 MPH, AND COULD NOT STEER THE VEHICLE TO GET OFF THE ROAD. SINCE THEN I HAVE TAKEN IT TO A DEALER AND TALKED TO GM AND PONTIAC ABOUT THE ISSUE. THEY ALL CLAIM SINCE IT WAS REPAIRED UNDER RECALL AND ALMOST 2 YEARS HAVE PASSED SINCE THE REPAIR WAS MADE THAT I AM ON MY OWN. THEY REFUSE TO HELP OR MAKE GOOD ON THEIR REPAIR CLAIMING THAT THEY APPARENTLY ARE ALRIGHT WITH A NEW PART FAILING AT ABOUT 24 MONTHS AND ABOUT 50,000 MILES AS THEY STATE SINCE THE RECALL REPAIR. GIVEN THE HISTORY OF THE PROBLEM, I FEEL I AM BEING UNFAIRLY IGNORED IN MY REQUEST FOR REPAIRS TO BE MADE AGAIN UNDER THE RECALL SINCE APPARENTLY THE INSTALLED PARTS WERE DEFECTIVE.
POT HOLE ON CRATER ROAD PETERSBURG, VA MESSED UP RIM AND TIRE
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 PONTIAC G6. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT PULLED OVER AND WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE AFTER 60 SECONDS. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE FAILURE RECURRED SEVERAL TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 160,706. UPDATED 01/06/2017*CT
THE AIR BAG DOESN'T WORK AND THE LIGHT FLASHES "SERVICE AIRBAG," AND, WHILE PUMPING THE BRAKES TO STOP, YOU HAVE TO PUMPS TWICE BEFORE THE CAR REACTS TO THE COMMAND. I HAD THE PADS REPLACED BUT THE CAR OPERATES THE SAME AS BEFORE.
AT 60,000 MILES THE POWER STEERING ALERT CAME ON THE DIC AND THE STEERING WAS VERY HARD. I TURNED THE CAR OFF AND BACK ON AND IT RESET. I DIDN'T HAVE ANY ISSUES UNTIL RECENTLY. I REPLACED THE WHOLE STEERING COLUMN AND EVERYTHING TO DO WITH THE SUSPENSION IN THIS CAR COSTING ME OVER $2500 DOLLARS. THE PAST MONTH THE WHEEL HAS BEEN SHAKING BADLY AND WHEN DRIVING THE STEERING WHEEL WILL PULL EACH WAY AND HAVE PLAY AND SOMETIMES BE STIFF. THIS IS A SERIOUS ISSUE AS I'VE ALMOST CAUSED MYSELF TO GET IN MANY ACCIDENTS. THIS NEEDS TO BE RESOLVED BY GM. I'VE TAKEN IT MANY TIMES AND MY CAR VIN ISN'T UNDER THE RECALL. THE CAR NOW JUST ECLIPSED OVER 100,000 MILES AND NEED TO KEEP THIS CAR THROUGH THE WINTER BUT I'M AFRAID WITH THE WINTERS WE HAVE IN BUFFALO, I'M GOING TO BE SERIOUSLY HURT. THE COST TO FIX THE JPOWER STEERING MOTOR IS OVER $1,000 AND I'M NOT PUTTING ANY MORE MONEY INTO THIS CAR. OVER THE YEARS I'VE HAD THE CAR, I'VE PUT WELL OVER $6,000 INTO IT. I'LL NEVER BUY ANOTHER GM PRODUCT AGAIN. I CALLED CUSTOMER SERVICE (AT GM) AND THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY ARE VERY RUDE AND WILL DO NOTHING ABOUT IT.
I PURCHASED MY CAR IN 2016. WHEN I FILL IT UP WITH GAS THERE IS A VERY STRONG GAS ODOR THAT LASTS FOR DAYS. IF YOU WALK ANYWHERE NEAR THE CAR, EVEN IF IT HAS BEEN SITTING YOU SMELL A STRONG GAS ODOR. I PARK IN MY DRIVEWAY AND THERE IS A BIG STAIN WHERE GAS HAS LEAKED. I HAVE CHATTED WITH PEOPLE WITH THE SAME PROBLEM FOR THIS YEAR OF CAR AND WAS TOLD THERE WERE NO RECALLS FOR THIS YEAR. I WAS TOLD IT IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION AND COULD RESULT IN FIRE. IT IS POSSIBLE THAT THE GAS FILLER TUBE IS CRACKED OR HAS OTHER DAMAGE TO IT. WITH SO MANY OTHER PEOPLE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THIS YEAR, MAKE AND MODEL THERE SHOULD BE AN INVESTIGATION DONE TO FIND THE PROBLEM.
MY BRAKE LIGHTS ARE NOT WORKING PROPERLY. THEY STAY ON AND TURN OFF WHEN I PRESS THE BRAKES AND RANDOMLY TURN ON AND OFF AS I DRIVE DOWN THE ROAD OR EVEN JUST SITTING STILL. I HAVE HAD MY CAR SERVICED AND EVERY TIME IT IS AN ISSUE WITH BCM. WHEN I WAS NOTIFIED OF THE RECALL ON THAT ISSUE, I TOOK MY CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP, BUT WHAT THEY DID DID NOT FIX THE ISSUE. IT DID, BUT ONLY TEMPORARILY.
ON 95 HIGHWAY SOUTH NEAR CARSON VA A WHITE BIG BAG FELL OFF A TRACTOR TRAILER IN WAS ON THE HIGHWAY ROAD IT DAMAGE MY RADIATOR AND BACK END OF MY CAR. REPAIRS HAD TO BE DONE TO MYBCAR
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND WENT TO TURN LEFT AND MY POWER STEERING COMPLETELY WENT OUT. I WAS LUCKY ENOUGH TO MAKE IT TO A SAFE SPOT TO PARK IT.

THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000.
I HAD THE RECALLS ALL FIXED AS SOON AS I WAS AWARE OF THEM. A FEW MONTHS LATER MY BRAKE LIGHTS STARTED FLASHING AS I WAS DRIVING. I TOOK IT TO A DEALER AND $300 LATER IT WAS FIXED. THEY SAID I HAD TO PAY SINCE THE RECALL HAD ALREADY BEEN TAKEN CARE OF. A FEW MONTHS LATER AND HERE I AM AGAIN WITH THE AIRBAG REPORTING PROBLEMS AS WORKING AND NOT WORKING. ALSO NOW MY BRAKE LIGHTS ARE STAYING ON AS I AM DRIVING AND TURNING OFF FOR A FEW SECONDS WHEN I TAP THE BRAKE. AS I AM STOPPED THE BRAKE LIGHTS ARE NOT TURNING ON UNLESS I FORCEFULLY HOLD THE PEDAL DOWN. I KNOW WHEN I TAKE IT INTO THE DEALER THAT IT IS GOING TO BE THE SAME THING, LOTS OF MONEY FOR A TEMPORARY FIX THAT ALL EXTEND FROM THE "FIXED" RECALL. I ALSO HAD A NEW BRAKE CONTROL SENSOR PUT IN, BUT IT MADE NO DIFFERENCE. THIS IS CAUSING A DANGEROUS CONDITION AND SINCE IT IS MY CAR, I DON'T KNOW WHAT I AM SUPPOSE TO DO HERE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, BUT THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED. THE MANUFACTURE WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE VIN WAS INVALID. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 25,000.
ON AUGUST 6, 2016 I WAS MERGING ONTO THE 33 EAST FROM THE CAYUGA ROAD ENTRANCE IN CHEEKTOWAGA, NY. AS I TRIED TO MERGE ONTO THE THRUWAY MY STEERING COMPLETELY WENT LOOSE AND LOST CONTROL. I COULDN'T GRAB HOLD OF THE WHEEL, AND MY CAR WENT COMPLETELY INSANE AND CROSSED THE 3 LANES OF TRAFFIC ON THE THRUWAY AND HIT THE GUARDRAIL, THEN BOUNCED OFF THE GUARDRAIL, CROSSING BACK THROUGH THOSE 3 LANES AND I ENDED UP IN A DITCH ON THE OPPOSITE SIDE OF THE GUARDRAIL.MY CAR IS COMPLETELY TOTALED, AND I WAS TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL ER BY MY MOTHER & MY CAR WAS TOWED BY CHEEKTOWAGA POLICE TO MILLERS TOWING ON GENESEE STREET. THE ONLY THING THE HOSPITAL DIAGNOSED ME WITH WAS WHIPLASH. I HAVE NO IDEA OR EXPLANATION AS TO WHAT COULD HAVE CAUSED MY STEERING WHEEL AND WHOLE CAR TO LOSE CONTROL LIKE THAT. I CONTACTED GENERAL MOTORS AND FILED A CLAIM WITH THEM. GENERAL MOTORS SENT OUT AN INVESTIGATOR TO COME CHECK OUT WHAT HAPPENED TO MY CAR. THE INVESTIGATOR ONLY PLUGGED MY CAR INTO HIS COMPUTER, AFTER UNPLUGGING THE BATTERY (WHICH WAS NOT NECESSARY TO DO AT ALL). AFTER HE INVESTIGATED IT, GENERAL MOTORS CALLED ME AND SAID MY CLAIM WAS DENIED. I FEEL THAT MY CAR WAS IMPROPERLY INSPECTED, IT SHOULD HAVE AT LEAST BEEN PUT UP ON A LIFT TO HAVE THE STEERING RACK LOOKED AT, SEEING AS THAT'S WHERE THE PROBLEM OCCURRED. I HAVE 3 WITNESSES THAT STOPPED ALONGSIDE OF THE ROAD WITH ME AND SAID IT WAS LIKE MY CAR WAS "POSSESSED." THE CAR HAD A STEERING RECALL THAT I GOT FIXED AT A GENERAL MOTORS FACILITY IN NOVEMBER OF 2015, 4 MONTHS AFTER I HAD BOUGHT THE CAR. I FEEL THAT I SHOULD BE COMPENSATED BY GM FOR MY LOSSES. I DID NOTHING WRONG TO MAKE THE CAR ACT LIKE THAT OR LOOSE CONTROL, THEY HAD NO EXPLANATION FOR ME AS TO WHAT HAPPENED TO MAKE THE CAR DO THAT.

TAKATA RECALL TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT COMES ON RANDOMLY AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON. WHEN DRIVING IT SHIFTS REALLY HARD IF THE TC LIGHT IS ON ALSO WHILE DRIVING IT TRYS TO STALL OUT. ALSO RANDOMLY ALL DASH LIGHT WILL COME ON AND GAUGES ALL GO CRAZY AND PUTS ERROR ON THE DASH WHERE THE ODOMETER READING IS AND THEN CAR WANT START.

THE CONTACT HAD TO USE FORCE TO TURN THE STEERING WHEEL. IN ADDITION, THE DOORS UNLOCKED AND LOCKED REPEATEDLY. THE CONTACT FELT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS UNSAFE TO DRIVE. THE DEALER WAS NOTIFIED, BUT NO REPAIRS WERE MADE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 73,000.
IN 2014 I RECIEVED A RECALL FOR POWER STEERING, I BROUGHT THE CAR IN AND THEY "FIXED" IT. CHARGED IT UNDER WARRANTY INSTEAD OF RECALL. 2 YEARS LATER, SAME ISSUE, STEERING GOES OUT, I HAD NO CRASH OR ACCIDENT BUT CANT STEER. TURN THE CAR ON AND OFF, COMES BACK ON. CALL EVERYONE LISTED ON THE RECALL WEBSITES AND THEY TELL ME NO RECALL? SO I DONT KNOW WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON, THEY "FIXED" POWER STEERING YET THE PART LASTS ONLY 2 YEARS AND I AM RIGHT BACK WHERE I STARTED WITH A BAD POWER STEERING PROBLEM. SO IF THEY FIX IT UNDER THE RECALL, LABLE IT UNDER WARRANTY, GOES OUT 2 YEARS LATER, THAN WHAT HAPPENS? I HATE THIS CAR!

SERVICE AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT APPEARS INTERMITTENTLY. I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE 2 WEEKS AGO. IT ONLY HAS 46,000 MILES AND ALL WAS WELL FOR ABOUT A WEEK. I WAS GETTING OFF THE INTERSTATE AND THE DRIVER SIDE SERVICE AIRBAG LIGHT ILLUMINATED. I STOPPED AT THE OFF RAMP AND PROCEEDED DOWN A 30 MPH STREET. STAYED ON FOR ABOUT 5 MINUTES AND TURNED OFF. ABOUT 4 DAYS LATER WHILE TRAVELING ON THE INTERSTATE, THE LIGHT ILLUMINATED AGAIN. STAYED ON FOR ABOUT 10 MINUTES AND THEN TURNED OFF. THIS TIME I WAS NOT STOPPING BUT CONTINUOUSLY DRIVING ABOUT 70 MPH. MY CONCERN IS THE SAFETY ISSUE. WHILE THAT LIGHT IS ILLUMINATED, THE AIRBAG WILL NOT DEPLOY. THERE HAS NOT BEEN A RECALL AND WHILE LOOKING ONLINE, THERE ARE QUITE A FEW PEOPLE THAT HAVE THIS ISSUE. I'VE BEEN READING OTHER COMPLAINTS AND IT SOUNDS LIKE THE SENSOR IN THE SEAT IS AT FAULT. I CHECKED TO SEE IF MY VEHICLE HAD ANY OPEN RECALLS AND THERE WERE NONE.

LOOSES POWER STEERING AND ALL GAGES GO TO ZERO AND RAPIDLY FLUCTUATE, THEN VEHICLE STALLS
THE CAR HAS BARELY STARTED FROM THE TIME THAT I'VE PURCHASED IT A COUPLE YEARS AGO. MORE RECENTLY I GOT IT TO START AFTER A FEW TRIES AND WHEN I GOT TO A RED LIGHT IT CUT OFF AND NEVER CAME BACK ON. I WAS THEN STUCK IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION. I HAVE MY CAR AT A DEALERSHIP FOR THE THIRD TIME WITHIN THE PAST FEW MONTHS AND THEY'RE TELLING ME THERE IS AN ELECTRICAL ISSUE WITH THE CAR AFTER BEING TOLD IT WAS SEVERAL OTHER THINGS OUTSIDE OF THE ELECTRICAL. I AM ALSO FINDING THAT THE SAME MAKE AND MODEL HAS BEEN DOING THE SAME TO OTHER OWNERS. I REFUSE TO PAY FOR REPAIRS FOR A CAR THAT HAS NEVER RAN PROPERLY FOR ME AFTER HAVING IT FOR 2 YEARS.

SO I CALL PONTIAC AND THEY SAY MY VIN # IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. HOW CAN THAT BE? MY 2OO6 PONTIAC G6 IS DOING THE EXACT THING THAT THE OTHER 2OO6 PONTIAC G6 ARE DOING, YET NOT COVERED. ON CHRISTMAS EVE OF 2O15, OUR STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP WHEN MY HUSBAND, 9 YEAR OLD SON AND I WERE DRIVING HOME.

THE STEERING WHEEL SOMETIMES GETS HARD, WHEN IM DRIVING 30 MPH MAKES NOISES ALSO WHEN I TURN
AT APPROX 70,000 MILES NOTICE FUEL ODOR AROUND GAS TANK. AT APPROX 70,300 MILES THE CAR WOULD NOT CRANK UNTIL SECOND ATTEMPT AND THE FUEL SMELL IS MUCH MORE PRONOUNCED. WHEN VEHICLE SITS FOR MORE THAN AN HOUR, IT TAKES AT LEAST TWO ATTEMPTS TO START.
FUEL PUMP HAS DEVELOPED A HAIRLINE CRACK IN ELBOW BEND THAT CAUSES GAS TO LEAK ON TO MY GAS TANK AND RUN DOWN ON TO MY EXHAUST WHICH MY MECHANIC SAID IT IS LIKELY TO CAUSE A FIRE WHILE I AM DRIVING SINCE IT IS A HIGH PRESSURE LINE AND HITTING MY EXHAUST. CAR HAS A GAS ODOR AT ALL TIMES EVEN WHEN NOT RUNNING. WHILE PARKED IN YOUR GARAGE MY HOUSE FILLS WITH THE SMELL OF GASOLINE TO THE EXTENT MY FAMILY IS HAVING HEADACHES AND NAUSEA. FRIENDS AT WORK CAN SMELL IT IN THE PARKING LOT SEVERAL CARS AWAY FROM MY CAR. UPON LOOKING ONLINE I SEE THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE G6
THE VEHICLE ENTERED THE ON RAMP TO I-5 FROM THE SHASTA DAM BLVD, SHASTA LAKE CITY, CA. AS MY GRANDSON APPROACHED THE 90 DEGREE CURVE TO MERGE, THE STEERING LOCKED UP AND COULD NOT TURN THE VEHICLE, WENT OFF THE PAVEMENT WITH BRAKES ENGAGED AND STOPPED IN THE GRAVEL MEDIAN. CALLED GM PONTIAC, THEY ARRANGED TO HAVE THE CAR TOWED TO DEALERSHIP AND HAVE IT REPAIRED AS IT WAS A RECALL ITEM. PART #22837369. AFTER THE DIAGNOSTIC WAS DONE, GM DECLINED TO REPAIR IT, BECAUSE THIS ITEM HAD BEEN REPLACED ON 3/18/2015 WITH A 12 MO. OR 12,000 MILE WARRANTY. MIND YOU THIS CAR HAD TRAVELED FROM HAWAII TO THE STATE'S TO A DEALER. A COUPLE WEEKS AGO MY DAUGHTER PURCHASED THE CAR. AT 3 WEEKS OF OWNING THIS CAR THE STEERING WENT OUT. THERE HAD ONLY BEEN AROUND 4,000 MILES ON IT WITH THE NEW PART. SHE HAD PURCHASED THE CAR JUST 7 DAYS AFTER THE 12 MONTH WARRANTY, APPARENTLY IT'S WHATEVER COMES FIRST THE 12,000 MILES OR 12 MONTH. THIS IS NOT RIGHT. MY GRANDSON COULD HAVE BEEN INJURED OR WORSE. THIS STEERING ISSUE RECALL IS A RECURRING EVENT WITH THIS PART. I RESEARCHED AND THE SAME THING IS HAPPENING TO OTHER OWNERS AS WELL WITH THE NEW RECALL PART. THIS PART NEEDS TO STAY ON THE RECALL LIST #14772. THIS NUMBER HAS CHANGED FROM THE ORIGINAL RECALL #14416 ELECTRIC POWER ASSIST THAT GM GAVE ME. GM REPLACEMENT PART #22837369. GM NEEDS TO HONOR THE REPLACEMENT OF THIS PART.

THE HIGH PRESSURE POWER STEERING LINE HAD A HOLE MELTED INTO IT BY THE EXHAUST AND THE LINE BURST SPRAYING POWER STEERING FLUID ON THE EXHAUST AND ALMOST CATCHING THE CAR ON FIRE.
