TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 PONTIAC TORRENT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, WHEN ENGAGING THE BRAKES THE VEHICLE WOULD SHAKE VIOLENTLY AND THERE WAS AN INCREASE IN STOPPING DISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE ROTORS, BRAKE PADS AND BRAKE FLUID NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BUT THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER WHO WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE DEFECT. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000.

THE CONTACT HAD TO PUT HER FOOT UNDERNEATH THE BRAKE PEDAL IN ORDER TO ENGAGE THE BRAKE PEDAL AND STOP THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION .THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 74,000.
2007 PONTIAC TORRENT AWD. HAVING FAILURE OF ABS, STABIL-TRAC SYSTEM, AWD. PROBLEM IS INTERMITTENT. OCCURS RANDOMLY. DEALER SAID IT WAS AN "ELECTRICAL PROBLEM" HOWEVER, ALL OF THEIR SOLUTIONS HAVE YET TO FIX THE ISSUE. PROBLEM HAS BEEN OCCURRING SINCE SEPT 2010, DEALERSHIP HAS HAD CAR 3 TIMES, AND HAS NOT RESOLVED. THE LATEST INCIDENT OCCURRED WHILE GOING DOWN A STEEP HILL, AND THE FAILURE OCCURRED, THE CAR SLID DOWN THE HILL (NO ABS, NO AWD, NO STABILITY CONTROL), ALMOST HIT ANOTHER CAR AT THE BOTTOM OF THE HILL DUE TO THE FAILURE OF THE ABOVE. *TR
ABOUT THREE WEEKS AGO, I AM DRIVING MY KIDS TO SCHOOL WHEN SUDDENLY THERE IS A WARNING INDICATOR ON MY DASH SAYING MAJOR BRAKING SYSTEM FAILURE. UPON CALLING ONSTAR FOR A DIAGNOSIS, THEY SAID TO CHECK THE BRAKE FLUID, SURE ENOUGH, IT WAS EMPTY. I FILLED IT UP AND CONTINUED DRIVING THE CAR AFTER NOTICING NO FLUID WHERE THE CAR IS MAINLY PARKED. IN A WEEK'S TIME, THE BRAKES HAVE STARTED GETTING HARDER AND HARDER TO PRESS AND THE VEHICLE NOT WANTING TO STOP NORMALLY. TAKING IT TO THE DEALERSHIP, I AM TOLD THAT THE FLUID LEAKED OUT INTO A RESERVOIR AT THE BOTTOM OF THE MASTER CYLINDER. IF THAT CYLINDER HAD BROKE, NO BRAKES. NOW, MY VEHICLE HAS BEEN AT THE SHOP FOR A WEEK BECAUSE THEY CANNOT FIND THE PARTS NEEDED TO REMEDY THIS SITUATION. TO ME IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE AS THE CAR CANNOT BE DRIVEN IN IT'S CURRENT STATE ALTHOUGH THEY ARE STILL GIVING ME GRIEF AS TO WHETHER IS WILL BE COVERED UNDER THE EXTENDED WARRANTY AND IF THEY WILL PAY FOR THE RENTAL I AM HAVING TO USE IN THE MEANTIME. *TR
TURNING CORNER (RIGHT HAND TURN) IN 3-4 INCHES OF LOOSE SNOW AND THE ABS LIGHT, TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT AND STABILITRAC SENSOR ALL CAME ON. WARNING MESSAGE OF SERVICE STABILITRAC SOON DISPLAYED ON CONTROL PANEL. AFTER PARKING THE CAR OVERNIGHT, ALL WARNINGS EXCEPT ABS WERE OFF AND ABS WARNING LIGHT WENT OFF AFTER APPROXIMATELY 2 MINUTES. THIS HAS HAPPENED AT LEAST ONCE A YEAR FOR ALL THREE YEARS I HAVE OWNED THE VEHICLE. IT WAS REPAIRED AT THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I PURCHASED IT TWICE AND I WAS TOLD THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG ONCE SINCE THE LIGHTS WENT OFF BEFORE I WAS ABLE TO GET IT TO THE DEALER. ALSO INTERMITTENTLY SEEMS TO HAVE A POWER DRAIN FOR NO REASON AND WITH NO WARNING LIGHTS APPEARING ON THE DASH DISPLAY. *TR
DURING HEAVY RAIN WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, THE ABS SYSTEM ENGAGED WITHOUT ANY USE OF THE BRAKES CAUSING THE CAR TO PULL FROM SIDE TO SIDE AS THE ABS SYSTEM APPLIED ALTERNATING BRAKES. THIS REPEATED AT LEAST 4 TIMES DURING A 1.5 TO 2 HOUR HIGHWAY DRIVE. ONCE OFF THE HIGHWAY AT A LOWER SPEED THE PROBLEM DID NOT HAPPEN AGAIN. I BROUGHT THE CAR INTO THE DEALER FOR SERVICE. THEY COULD NOT IDENTIFY AND DID NOT TRY TO RECREATE THE PROBLEM. I HAVE AVOIDED HIGHWAY DRIVING IN HEAVY RAIN AND HAVE NOT HAD THE PROBLEM AGAIN. WHEN TAKING THE CAR IN TO THE DEALER FOR AN OIL CHANGE THE OTHER DAY, THEY INSISTED ON INSTALLING A BLACK BOX WITH RED BUTTON. THE SYSTEM IS MASKING TAPED TO THE DASH OF MY CAR AND THE BUTTON IS IN MY CUP HOLDER. I HAVE BEEN INSTRUCT TO PRESS THE RED BUTTON IF THE PROBLEM HAPPENS AGAIN. HOWEVER, IF IT DOES HAPPEN I MUST KEEP BOTH HANDS ON THE WHEEL. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 PONTIAC TORRENT. THE CONTACT WAS VERY DISAPPOINTED THAT THE MANUFACTURER WOULD NOT REPAIR HER VEHICLE. WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH SHE HEARD A POPPING NOISE. SHE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER AFTER BEING INSPECTED WAS INFORMED THAT THE NOISE WAS THE ANTILOCK BRAKES INFORMING HER THAT IT WAS WORKING. THE CONTACT OBTAINED A SECOND OPINION FROM ANOTHER DEALER AND THEY INFORMED HER THAT THEY WOULD JUST KEEP AN EYE ON IT. USUALLY WHEN IT RAINS THE CONTACT DOES NOT HEAR THE NOISE. THE CONTACT CALLED HER STATE ATTORNEY GENERAL AND THEY INFORMED HER TO CALL THE HIGHWAY SAFETY PATROL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 13,000. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 27,300.

2007 PONTIAC TORRENT (CHEVROLET EQUINOX) SHUTTERS AND ABS BRAKES MALFUNCTION DURING HEAVY RAIN STORMS. SHUTTERING FEELING IS VERY PRONOUNCED, ENTIRE DRIVE TRAIN SHAKES. THIS COMPLAINT IS SIMILAR OR IDENTICAL TO OPI # 10230804 AND 10211398. IT HAS OCCURRED SINCE THE CAR WAS NEW, ABOUT 20 TIMES, CAR NOW HAS 51,000 MILES. PONTIAC TORRENT(2007 YR ONLY) RIGHT REAR FLEXIBLE BRAKE LINE HOSE TO RR DISC BRAKE CALIPER HAS OVER A 100 DEGREE BEND WITH NO PLAY. AS WHEEL ASSEMBLY HITS BUMPS THIS HOSE WILL FAIL IN TIME CAUSING REAR BRAKE FAILURE. I ADVISED GM SERVICE MANAGER ON 11/22/06 AND HE WAS GOING TO ADVISE GM ENGINEERING,W/ON LINE REPORT. *NM
