THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: 9-5481767211. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 210,000.

EXPRESSWAY ST., COUNCIL BLUFFS, IA, 844-879-6715) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE WINDOW REGULATOR WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE, BUT NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 95,500. *TT CONSUMER STATED THE PREVIOUS RECALL NOTICE WAS ACCOMPLISHED IN MAY OF 2017 BUT WINDOW PROBLEMS WERE PRESENT AFTER THAT WAS DONE. THE DEALER REPLACED THE WINDOW REGULATOR BUT IT DID NOT SOLVE THE PROBLEM. MY DRIVERS SIDE STILL CLUNKS WHEN WINDOW IS ROLLED DOWN AND IT SOUNDS LIKE WINDOW COULD BREAK AT SOME POINT, THIS SHOULD NOT HAPPEN AND IS DANDEROUS. REPLACING THE BELTS ON THE ORIGINAL RECALL WORKED FOR A TIME BUT IT CAME BACK. I WAS TOLD A NEW REGULATOR FOR THE WINDOW WOULD SOLVE THE PROBLEM. AFTER WINDOW REGULATOR WAS REPLACED THE CLUNKING SOUND STILL HAPPENS. UPDATED 10/18/18*JB
DRIVER SIDE WINDOW IS STICKING AND MAKE ERRATIC MOVEMENT GOING UP AND APPEARS TO NOT BE TRACKING CORRECTLY. THIS CAR HAS BEEN OWNED BY SAME FAMILY SINCE NEW IN 2004 AND THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN NOTICEABLE FOR SOME TIME NOW. PASSENGER SIDE IS SLOW IN COMING UP I FOUND GM RECALL #07273 CAME UP ONLINE UNDER VISIBILITY RECALL SERVICE BULLETIN 08V162000 DATED 04/10/08 AND WONDERED IF THIS WAS A CAUSE.
DRIVING HOME TWO NIGHTS AGO THROUGH THE CITY AND THE DRIVER'S SIDE WINDOW WOULDN'T ROLL UP AND ALMOST BROKE. IT IS LOOSE OF THE REGULATOR AND OUT OF THE TRACK. ONCE I GOT HOME, I HAD TO REMOVE SIDE PANEL TO GET IT BACK IN THE GUIDE IN ORDER TO CLOSE IT. STILL BROKEN. GM/PONTIAC SAYS IT IS NOT WITHIN THE ASSIGNED RECALL VINS. BUT IT IS THE EXACT SAME ISSUE!

ON MAY 2, 2015 MY WIFE TOLD ME THE WINDOW GOT LOOSE AND SHATTERED WHILE TRYING TO RAISE IT WITH THE POWER WINDOW. I CALLED THE DEALER AND THERE IS A RECALL NUMBER 07273 ON THE REGULATOR BOLTS GETTING LOOSE AND THE GLASS SHATTERING. I CALLED THE DEALER AND TALKED TO [XXX] AT WINEGARDNER GM IN BRANDYWINE, MD AND THEY SAID THEY WOULD CHARGE ME FOR A DIAGNOSTIC IF THE FIX THE RECALL. I CALLED THE GM CORPORATE ENGAGEMENT CENTER AT GM WITH [XXX] AT 866-790-5700 EXT. [XXX] AND COMPLAINED AND HE ALSO SAID I WOULD HAVE TO PAY TO GET A DIAGNOSTIC FOR THEM TO FIX THE RECALL. I CALLED CUSTOMER CARE [XXX] CUSTOMER RELATIONS 866-418-9319 EXT. [XXX] AND SPOKE TO [XXX] AND SHE SAID A DIAGNOSTIC HAS TO BE DONE AND I WOULD BE CHARGED BY GM FOR THE DIAGNOSTIC. MY VIN IS [XXX]AND MY RECALL IS NOT BEING FIXED. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THE WINDOW SHATTERED BECAUSE OF THIS RECALL. CAR WAS IN PARK WHEN I WAS IN THE PROCESS OF PUTTING DOWN THE DRIVER SIDE ELECTRIC WINDOW. WHEN IT WAS GOING DOWN IT MADE A LOUD NOISE AND THEN STOPPED GOING DOWN ANY FURTHER. AT THIS POINT IT WAS ABOUT 3/4 OF THE WAY DOWN AND THE WINDOW WAS NOW AT A SLANT. IT ALLOWED ME TO PUT IT BACK UP, BUT IN THE PROCESS OF THE WINDOW GOING UP IT SHATTERED. THE MAJORITY OF THE BROKEN WINDOW WAS ON ME AND THE FRONT SEAT OF THE CAR. LUCKILY THE CAR WAS IN PARK WHEN IT HAPPENED AND I ONLY HAS A FEW CUTS ON MY LEGS FROM THE BROKEN WINDOW. IN 2008 I HAD THE CAR IN FOR A RECALL TO REPLACE BOLTS TO BOTH OF THE FRONT WINDOW REGULATORS, MILEAGE AT THIS TIME WAS 47,000. THE GM DEALER I TOOK THE CAR INTO TO HAVE THE WINDOW REPLACED, INFORMED ME THAT I NEED TO HAVE THE REGULATOR AND RUN CHANNEL REPLACED. *TR

THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT AFTER THE REPAIRS WERE COMPLETED, THE DOOR GLASS BECAME SEPARATED FROM THE WINDOW REGULATOR AND CAUSED THE WINDOW TO BECOME STUCK. THE TECHNICIAN ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THE REGULATOR WAS FRACTURED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT FELT THAT THE FAILURE WAS DUE TO THE RECALL NOT RECTIFYING THE INITIAL FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 200,000.
PURCHASED USED CAR FROM TOYOTA RICHMOND, WINDOW SHATTERED 2013 FIXED (TOYOTA HAD WARRANTY BUT HAD TO PAY FOR GLASS), WINDOW BROKE AGAIN TWO MONTHS AGO APPROX. CONTACTED GM THEY WON'T FIX REPAIRED ONCE. I AM REPAIRING FOR THE SECOND TIME. IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE GLASS SHATTERED IN MY FACE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED. SO, IN TOTAL THIS REPAIRED PART IS GETTING READY TO BE REPAIRED FOR THE THIRD TIME OUT OF POCKET. THE ORIGINAL RECALL DIDN'T REPAIR THE PROBLEM. AND THIS IS GOING TO CONTINUE TO BE A SAFETY ISSUE. I THINK IT IS MORE THAN A REGULATOR PROBLEM I THINK THERE ARE PARTS THAT ARE NOT GETTING ALONG WITH EACH OTHER. BECAUSE IT SHOULD NOT BE SNAPPING EVERY FEW MONTHS. WORRIED SOMEONE IS GOING TO GET HURT. WILL NOT PURCHASE A VEHICLE FROM GM AGAIN. MY FIRST CAR I HAD FOR 17 YEARS. IT HAD MANUAL WINDOWS AND I WISH THIS CAR DID TOO. *TR

I HAD A RECALL ON MY 2004 PONTIAC VIBE ON JULY 1, 2008. HOWEVER IT NEVER CORRECTED THE PROBLEM. THE RECALL WAS TO REPLACE THE WINDOW REGULATOR BOLTS IN BOTH FRONT DOORS. I CONTINUED TO GET A POPPING, CLICKING SOUND WHEN THE WINDOW IS OPERATED. I THOUGHT THIS NOISE WAS DUE TO THE FACT THAT I HAD COLLEGE STICKERS ON BOTH WINDOWS. HOWEVER, WHEN I REMOVED THE STICKERS, I CONTINUE TO GET THE CLICKING, GRINDING NOISE. WHAT CAN BE DONE AT THIS POINT? *JS

MY CAR WAS TAKEN FOR REPAIR FOR THE FRONT DRIVER,PASSANGER WINDOWS ACCORDING TO THE RECALL LETTER. AFTER THE REPAIRS WERE DONE THEY WILL NOT STAY ON TRACK NOW I TRIED TO TAKE THEM BACK TO HAVE THEM FIXED I WAS TOLD IT WILL COST $500 DOLLARS. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 144,000. THE DEALER INFORMED THE CONSUMER THE PROBLEM WAS WITH THE REGULATOR AND MOTOR. THE CONSUMER BELIEVED THE BOLT FAILED AND THE REGULATOR BECAME DETACHED. THE CONSUMER BELIEVED THE RECALL THAT WAS PERFORMED TWO YEARS PRIOR WAS SHODDY OR THAT THE POWER WINDOWS WERE JUST DEFECTIVE AND PRONE TO SAFETY PROBLEMS. UPDATED 06/09/11

2004 VIBE HAD A RECALL FOR THE POPPING OF THE DRIVERS' SIDE WINDOW. TOOK IT 3 TIMES TO D & G PONTIAC IN PORT JERVIS. PROBLEM STILL HAPPENS. WINDOW GOT STUCK THEN WENT OFF TRACK. TOOK IT TO ROYAL PONTIAC IN SUSSEX, NJ AND THEY SAID IT WASN'T THE RECALL PROBLEM. IT'S STILL NOT FIXED. I HAVE TO PAY OVER $100 TO HAVE IT FIXED WHEN I FEEL IT STILL IS A DEFECT PROBLEM. APPARENTLY, LOOKING OVER THE COMPLAINTS, PEOPLE STILL HAVE THE PROBLEM WITH THE CAR AND THE SERVICE DEPARTMENTS FOR PONTIAC ARE SAYING THAT IT'S NOT A RECALL PROBLEM. THE SERVICE MANAGER AT ROYAL PONTIAC BASICALLY TOLD ME THAT OTHER PEOPLE COMPLAINED ABOUT THE SAME PROBLEM AND THEY WON'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. *TR
MY PASSENGER WINDOW KEPT FALLING, ONCE THE WINDOW SHATTERED. THERE WAS A RECALL NOTICE TO REPLACE THE BOLTS. THIS WAS COMPLETED IN MAY 2009. TODAY, IT HAPPENED AGAIN. I ROLLED THE WINDOW DOWN AND WAS ROLLING IT BACK UP AND IT BECAME COMPLETELY DISLODGED, TO THE POINT THE ENTIRE WINDOW CAME OUT. I WAS ABLE TO GET IT BACK INTO THE DOOR. THEY ARE GOING TO CHARGE ME AGAIN FOR THE SAME PROBLEM THEY HAVE ALREADY "FIXED". THE DEALER ATTEMPTED TO CHARGE ME $675 WINDOW DID NOT END UP SHATTERING, BUT THEY SAID ENTIRE WINDOW NEEDED TO BE REPLACED BUT WAS NOT PART OF THE RECALL HOWEVER IT'S THE SAME ISSUE AS TWICE BEFORE. THE DEALER SAID THE BOLTS AND SASH ARE FAULTY, BUT SOMETHING ELSE HAS TO BE WRONG FOR THIS TO CONTINUE HAPPENING. I BELIEVE THE PROBLEM MAY BE FAULTY "GUIDES" FOR THE GLASS.
I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE (NOTICE 07273) FROM PONTIAC INFORMING ME THAT MY WINDOWS HAD THE POTENTIAL TO SHATTER. THAT EXPLAINED WHY THE WINDOWS RATTLED AND I HEARD A LOUD METALLIC CLANKING SOUND EVERY TIME I OPENED THE DRIVER'S SIDE WINDOW. I TOOK THE VEHICLE INTO A LOCAL CHEVY DEALER AND THEY SAID THEY PERFORMED THE NEEDED SERVICE. THEY LIED. THE DEALER FAKED THE REPAIR. THE WINDOWS STILL RATTLE AND THE METALLIC CLANK (THINK OF TAKING A WRENCH IN EACH HAND AND SMASHING THEM TOGETHER) IS STILL THERE EVERY TIME I OPEN THE WINDOW. THE DEALER WHO FAKED THE REPAIR SAYS THEY'VE DONE ALL THAT THEY ARE GOING TO DO. I'M LEFT WITH WINDOWS THAT PONTIAC SAYS COULD SHATTER AT ANY TIME. *TR
DRIVERS SIDE WINDOW MAKES A POPPING SOUND WHEN ROLLED DOWN. MY INDICATIONS WERE IDENTICAL TO COMPLAINT 10245483. I DETERMINED THE DOOR STRAP WAS HITTING THE GLASS WHEN THE DOOR WAS CLOSED. I REMOVED THE STRAP AND GROUND THE T SHAPED METAL AS INSTRUCTED IN THE ABOVE COMPLAINT (SEE MY COMPLAINT #10269413). THIS ELIMINATED THE LOUD POPPING SOUND BUT I STILL HAD SOME SCRAPING NOISE. I WENT TO THE DEALER TO GET A NEW RETAINING STRAP. I WAS QUOTED $175.00. I ASKED TO LOOK AT IT AND DISCOVERED THE DESIGN IS DIFFERENT THAN THE ONE ON MY VEHICLE. THE T BRACKET IS NO LONGER SQUARE AND THE EDGE FACING THE GLASS IS NOW AT A 45 DEGREE ANGLE. I REMOVED THE STRAP ONCE AGAIN AND GROUND THE BRACKET TO 45 DEG. THIS FIXED THE PROBLEM. PONTIAC APPARENTLY HAS RECOGNIZED THIS PROBLEM AND HAS CHANGED THE DESIGN OF THIS BRACKET. *TR
