TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 PONTIAC VIBE. WHILE TRAVELING 70 MPH THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE VEHICLE HAD SUDDENLY SHUT OFF WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE REPRODUCED; HOWEVER, THE CONTACT CONTINUED TO EXPERIENCE THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 14000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 17000.
ENGINE SPEED ACCELERATED WHEN COMING TO A STOP. HAD TO JAM ON BREAK AND THROW TRANSMISSION INTO PARK. THIS OCCURRED MULTIPLE TIMES IN FUTURE MONTHS . CAR IS ONLY DRIVEN MAY THRU JAN. CAR WENT TO DEALER 4 TIMES FOR THIS PROBLEM INCLUDING TOYOTA RECALLS. LAST OCCURRENCE 11/9/11. PROBLEM NEVER SOLVED. (MULTIPLE TIMES MEANS 7+). *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 PONTIAC VIBE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SHE RECEIVED RECALL REPAIRS UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 10V024000 (VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL: ACCELERATOR PEDAL) AND THE DEALER REMOVED THE DRIVERS SIDE FLOOR MATS TO PREVENT POSSIBLE UNWANTED ACCELERATION. THE CONTACT WAS UNSATISFIED THAT THE FLOOR MAT WAS REMOVED AND A REPLACEMENT WAS NOT PROVIDED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS UNABLE TO PROVIDE AN ESTIMATE OF WHEN A NEW FLOOR MAT WOULD BE AVAILABLE FOR THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT IT WAS IMPORTANT TO KEEP THE FLOOR MAT IN THE VEHICLE FOR SAFETY REASONS. THERE WERE NO FAILURES AT THIS TIME. THE MILEAGE WHEN THE RECALL REPAIR WAS PERFORMED WAS 3,000. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 PONTIAC VIBE. THE CONTACT STATED NHTSA RECALL CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 10V024000 IS IN EFFECT FOR HIS VEHICLE BUT HE DID NOT RECEIVE NOTIFICATION OF THE RECALL. THE CONTACT HAS NOT HAD ANY VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL FAILURES WITH HIS VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REMEDY FOR THE RECALL SHOULD BE AVAILABLE IN A TIMELY AND REASONABLE TIME, WHICH IT WAS NOT. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 8,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 PONTIAC VIBE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN DRIVING DURING INCLEMENT WEATHER, THE BRAKES WOULD MALFUNCTION. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR A DIAGNOSTIC TEST BUT THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN I.D. NUMBER: 09V392000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC:POWER ASSIST:VACUUM) BUT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 29,500.
AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS, MY CAR WILL SUDDENLY STEER SHARPLY ON ITS OWN, AS IF IT WERE HIT BY A SUDDEN, VIOLENT CROSSWIND THIS HAS HAPPENED APPROXIMATELY 20-25 TIMES, ALWAYS AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. ALWAYS SWERVING TO THE LEFT. NO ACCIDENTS HAVE OCCURRED, BUT EACH OCCURRENCE COULD HAVE RESULTED IN AN ACCIDENT, AS IT IS DIFFICULT, IF NOT IMPOSSIBLE TO MAINTAIN LANE DISCIPLINE. VEHICLE IS 6 MONTHS OLD, 5,000 MILES. NO KNOWN DAMAGE OR UNUSUAL WEAR THAT WOULD CAUSE SUCH A REACTION. *TR
CONSUMER IS CONCERNED WITH THE NEW RECALL REQUESTING CONSUMERS TO REMOVE FLOOR MATS IN THE 2010 PONTIAC VIBE CAUSING ACCELERATION PROBLEMS.
