Woke up one morning and noticed a very strong gas smell coming from the car while driving with the windows down, even at low speed. Once I noticed the smell I stopped driving and exited the vehicle and again noted the very strong smell. I immediately took the car to the nearest Porsche service dealership in Beverly Hills. The repair was covered by warranty, and the issue was found to be due to a leakage from the fuel supply line that runs from the fuel tank to the engine. This is a very serious issue that I find dangerous had I not immediately noticed. The part was replaced with the same component, not a better version (as Porsche has not manufactured one). I was told this same issue has occurred with similar cars of this make, model, year.
Complaints are unverified consumer reports submitted to NHTSA. A high complaint count may reflect vehicle popularity, not defect severity. Data sourced from NHTSA public records.
