1. WHEN I ACCELERATE THE TRUCK MY SERVICE 4WD DRIVE LIGHT COMES IN AND WHEN I SLOW DOWN AT 30MPH OR LOWER IT GOES OFF. I CHANGED OUT THE 4WD MOTOR ALREADY AND STILL HAVE THE ISSUE. 2. WHEN I RELEASE THE GAS IN TOWN AT A SPEED OF 40MPH OR LESS YOU CAN HEAR A CLICKING COMING FROM UNDER THE VEHICLE. WHEN I PUT IT IN TOW/HAUL THE NOISE WILL GO AWAY THOUGH.
1) FUEL PUMP STAYS ON AFTER TRUCK HAS BEEN TURNED OFF. 2) TRUCK IS HARD TO START AFTER SITTING FOR THREE OR MORE HOURS
ENGINE STARTED MISSING AND VIBRATING WHEN ACCELERATING, ENGINE TROUBLE CODE P0303 APPEARED. TOOK IT TO THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP AND AFTER INSPECTING THEY DETERMINED IT TO BE THE CAMSHAFT. I HAVE READ NUMEROUS SIMILAR COMPLAINTS CONCERNING THIS ISSUE, CHRYSLER NEEDS TO BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS PROBLEM. ALL SAID AND DONE THE TOTAL COST WAS $3129.00.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 RAM 1500. THE CONTACT EXPERIENCED DIFFICULTY STARTING THE VEHICLE. ONCE THE VEHICLE WAS STARTED, WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED AND THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT OWNED AN OBD2 READER AND A CODE APPEARED FOR THE FUEL PUMP. THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED AND DRIVEN TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 125,000.
VEHICLE SHAKES AND WILL LOSE ITS PULLING POWER TO WHERE ONE CAN ONLY GO AROUND 20 MILES PER HOUR. THIS HAPPENED ON A BYPASS WHILE GOING 50ISH MPH. THE SUDDEN SLOWING ALMOST CAUSED ME TO WRECK. ENGINE CODE PULLS UP AS MISFIRE. AFTER BOTH SPARK PLUGS AND ON-COIL PLUG WAS REPLACED VEHICLE DONE THE SAME THING. UPON INVESTIGATING CONDITIONS AND KNOCKING NOISE I DISCOVERED MANY HAVE HAD PROBLEMS DUE TO LIFTER SEIZING AND DIGGING INTO CAM SHAFT. THIS CAUSES THE CYLINDER TO NOT OPEN RIGHT MAKING FUEL AIR MIXTURE TO BE OFF. MANY FORUMS AND VIDEOS ONLINE BLAME BAD LIFTERS FROM FACTORY. HOWEVER I AM PERSONALLY UNCERTAIN OF THIS SO ISSUE IS UNKNOWN. REACHING OUT TO DODGE I GET A MESSAGE OF SORRY YOUR VEHICLE IS OUT OF WARRANTY. VEHICLE ONLY HAS 70853 MILES ON IT BUT IS PAST FIVE YEARS OLD. OTHERS REPORTED ISSUE FROM 50-120K MILES IN THEIR CASES. I TRULLY DONT UNDERSTAND WHY THERE WAS NO RECALL ON THIS ISSUE SINCE IT SEEMS FAIRLY COMMON AND PEOPLE ARE OUT 1000S OF DOLLARS BECAUSE OF IT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 RAM 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO START. THE CONTACT HAD TO MANUALLY PRIME THE FUEL LINE MULTIPLE TIMES TO START THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO FERMAN CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM OF NEW PORT RICHEY (LOCATED AT 4023 US-19, PORT RICHEY, FL 34652, (727) 847-5555) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 104,006.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 RAM 1500. WHILE THE CONTACT'S SON WAS DRIVING IN TRAFFIC, THE TIMING CHAIN FRACTURED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S HOME. THE CONTACT'S SON ATTEMPTED TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE ON HIS OWN, BUT WAS UNSUCCESSFUL. THE MANUFACTURER AND DEALER WERE NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 100,000.
CAM SHAFT OIL CONTROL VALVE FRAGMENTED RESULTING IN ENGINE FAILURE. I WAS IN A PARKING LOT AND STARTED THE ENGINE. THE "CHECK ENGINE" LIGHT CAME ON IMMEDIATELY. DROVE DIRECTLY THE DEALER, ABOUT 2 MILES, TO HAVE CHECKED. THE ENGINE RAN POORLY WITH VERY LITTLE ACCELERATION. CAM CODE APPEARED. ONLY REPAIR WAS A $10,000.00 LONG BLOCK ENGINE REPLACEMENT, BECAUSE REPAIR PARTS WERE ON 3 TO 6 MONTH BACK ORDER THROUGH THE DEALER. I PURCHASED THE TRUCK NEW FROM THIS DEALER AND HAVE HAD ALL SERVICE, RECALL AND REPAIRS DONE AT THIS DEALER. I WAS NEVER INFORMED THAT THIS TYPE OF CATISTROPHIC FAILURE COULD OCCUR AT ANY TIME DURING MY OWNERSHIP, EITHER BY THE DEALER OR CHRYSLER CORP. THIS WAS A DEFECTIVE INTERNAL PART THAT COULD HAVE BEEN REPLACED, ACCORDING TO THE DEALER, BEFORE THE PART FAILED FOR $700.00. CHRYSLER DID ASSIGN A CASE NUMBER AND A WORKER THAT WAS ABLE TO PROVIDE A "ONE TIME GOOD WILL" AMOUNT OF $3000.00 TOWARD THE REPAIRS. I WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE REMAINING $6797.00. THIS WAS A PREVENTABLE REPAIR AND I SHOULD NOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR THESE TYPE OF PROBLEM. THIS PART HAS MANY REFERENCES ON HE INTERNET.
PULLING OFF A ROADWAY MAKING A RIGHT TURN, TRUCK STALLED, CANT TURN STEERING WHEEL WITHOUT THE ENGINE RUNNING! EXTREMELY DANGEROUS!!! RESTARTED IT, VERY HARD TO START LIKE IT WAS OUT OF TIME.AFTER RESTART, DROVE ABOUT TWO MILES , AND THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND DINGED THE WARNING CHIME. CONTINUED TO FLASH ENGINE LIGHT. HAD THE ENGINE LIGHT CODE READ AND THE PROBLEM IS # 5 CYLINDER MISFIRE. WORN LIFTER OR CAMSHAFT.THIS ISSUE SHOULD NOT HAPPEN ON A TRUCK WITH PERFECT MAINTENANCE! AT 125,000 MILES.
REAR WINDOW WATER LEAK
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 RAM 1500. WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH, THE VEHICLE VIBRATED AND MADE A LOUD GROWLING NOISE WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO INSPECTED THE FRAME AND DETERMINED THAT THE REAR SUSPENSION AXLE WAS LOOSE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. A DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 10V656000 (SUSPENSION). THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE CONTACT WAS ADVISED TO FILE A COMPLAINT WITH NHTSA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 140,000.
THE TIRE PRESSURE SYSTEM IN ONE TIRE CONTINUOUSLY GOES OUT. THE ORIGINAL SENSOR HAS BEEN REPROGRAMMED TWICE THEN IT WAS REPLACED AND THE REPLACEMENT CONTINUES TO GO OUT. IT WILL BE GETTING REPLACED FOR A SECOND TIME THIS WEEK.
ENGINE LIGHT CAM ON WHILE DRIVING ON CITY STREETS, MECHANIC RECOMMENDED REPLACE PLUGS AND COIL, STILL SHOWING PROBLEM. MECHANIC RECOMMENDED REPLACE FUEL INJECTORS, STILL SHOWING PROBLEM, NOW HE SAYS IT IS THE CAM SHAFT AND LIFTER - HE TELLS ME THIS IS GOING TO COST AN ADDITIONAL $4000., AND THERE IS A BIG BACK ORDER OF THESE PARTS FROM DODGE AND IT WILL TAKE AT LEAST 3 MONTHS. NOW DOING RESEARCH I DISCOVER THIS IS HAPPENING TO SCORES OF PEOPLE - WHERE IS THE RECALL???
EXHAUST MANIFOLDS WARPED AND BROKE THE MANIFOLD BOLTS
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 RAM 1500. WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS, THE TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE TURNED OFF THE FUEL PUMP. THE VEHICLE LOST POWER AND STALLED. THE CONTACT SHIFTED INTO NEUTRAL AND COASTED THE VEHICLE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE VEHICLE WAS UNABLE TO RESTART AND WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. CHERRY HILL DODGE CHRYSLER JEEP RAM (1708 W, NJ-70, CHERRY HILL, NJ 08002, (856) 471-1058) WAS NOTIFIED AND INDICATED THAT A DIAGNOSTIC APPOINTMENT NEEDED TO BE SCHEDULED. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE CIRCUIT BOARD MAY NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA ACTION NUMBER: DP14004 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 94,000.
AT 171599 MILES REAR AXLE PINION SEAL FAILED. HIGH PITCH HOWLING SOUND WAS EXPERIENCED WHEN TRAVELING AT HIGH SPEED. SEAL FAILURE RESULTED IN LOSS OF REAL AXLE OIL WHICH LEAD TO PINION BEARING FAILURE. WAS TOLD BY DEALERSHIP THAT ALL REAR AXLE COMPONENTS WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED DUE TO POSSIBLE METAL CONTAMINATION.
I WAS DRIVING ON THE EXPRESSWAY AND I EXPERIENCED A LOSS OF POWER. UPON DIAGNOSING THE PROBLEM, THE MECHANIC SAID I HAVE A MISFIRE IN CYLINDER #2. TESTED ALL PLUGS AND COIL PACKS. THEY CHECK GOOD. MECHANIC STATED IT'S A CAMSHAFT AND LIFTERS THAT FAILED. UPON FURTHER INVESTIGATION, I FOUND 1000'S OF COMPLAINTS ON THE INTERNET ABOUT THIS SAME PROBLEM. THIS NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED BY CHRYSLER AND A RECALL SHOULD BE ON THIS ENGINE.
DRIVERS SIDE HEAD LIGHT INTERMITTENTLY TURNS OFF WHILE DRIVING AND WILL RANDOMLY COME BACK ON. AFTER REPLACING BULBS & ENTIRE HEADLIGHT UNIT ISSUE CONTINUES. FAULTY TIPM (TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE) SEEMS TO BE TO BLAME.
FUEL PUMP RELAY IS FAULTY IN THE TIPM
I HAVE A 2011 RAM 1500 QUAD CAB WITH THE 5.7 HEMI ENGINE. THE TIPM STARTED FAULTING AND NOT LETTING THE FUEL PUMP RUN AND START THE CAR. THEN IT STOPPED THE TRAILER/TOW LIGHTS CONNECTION IN THE REAR NOT WORKING WHILE I WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF TOWING A TRAILER. THE ANTI-SLIP WAS ACTIVATED ALL THE TIME AND IT TURNED OFF THE VEHICLES RADIO AND BACK UP CAMERA.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 RAM 1500. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE CONTACT HEARD LOUD ABNORMAL NOISES AND THE ENGINE SEIZED. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED AND THE FAILURE OCCURRED INTERMITTENTLY. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. AN UNKNOWN LOCAL DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THE CAMSHAFT AND LIFTERS NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE CONTACT SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT WITH AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO HAVE THE VEHICLE REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 92,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 RAM 1500. WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE, A MILD DINGING NOISE WAS PRESENT COMING FROM THE ENGINE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO CONFIRMED THE FAILURE, BUT COULD NOT DETERMINE THE CAUSE. THE MANUFACTURER AND VIDEON CHRYSLER DODGE (4951 W. CHESTER PIKE, NEWTOWN SQUARE, PA) WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 74,000.
FUEL PUMP KEEPS RUNNING AFTER VEHICLE IS OFF AND KEY OUT OF IGNITION, DRAINING BATTERY. HAVE TO DISCONNECT BATTERY, OR PULL FUEL PUMP RELAY FUSE TO STOP FUEL PUMP FROM BURNING OUT. WAS TOLD IT WAS TIPM UNIT, THE SAME UNIT UNIT THAT HAS BEEN RECALLED ON OTHER FCA/CHRYSLER VEHICLES, BUT NOT ON RAMS.
FRONT IN BALL JOINT DISCONNECTED WHILE DRIVING AND AXEL SNAPPED. AS A RESULT MY FRONT IN OF THE CAR HIT THE GROUND CAUSING A TOTAL LOSS OF STEERING. I CRASHED INTO A WALL DOING 70 MILES PER HOUR AND ALMOST LOST MY LIFE.
I PURCHASED A 2011 DODGE RAM 1500. THERE HAS BEEN 4 RECALLS ON IT. 2 RECALLS ARE OPEN AS OF NOW. THE TRUCK MALFUNCTION AND WAS INVOLVED IN A ACCIDENT. THE REMEDY OF THE BRAKE TRANSMISSION SHIFT INTERLOCK RECALL. IS NOT AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME. THE MANUFACTURE HAS FAILED HIS JOB.. TAKATA RECALL MY TRUCK SWITCH INTO HIGH SPEED GEAR SPEEDED UP MAY HAVE CAUSED A CRASH STERRING BECAME HARD TO CONTROL IN MOTION ON A CITY STREET
AFTER STOPING AT A STOP SIGN. MADE A RIGHT TURN AND THE TRANSMISSION SHIFT TO HIGH SPEED GEAR CAUSING RAPID SPEED THE THE INGINE SHUT OFF CAUSED HARD STEERING. AT THAT TIME A VEHICLE APPROACH ME HEAD ON BECAUSE THERE CARS PARK IN ONCOMING TRAFFIC LANE. THE CAR CRASH INTO ME FORCING ME TO THE RIGHT OF MY LANE INTO A CITY LIGHT POLE. THE VEHICLE HAS HAS 4 RECALLS ON IT AND 2 SAFETY RECALLS OPEN AT THIS TIME. THE VEHICLE HAS A BUY BACK RECALL. AND I WOULD LIKE TO BE REFUNDED PLEASE. THIS HAPPEN IN A CTY STREET. IN MOTION *DSY
THERE HAS BEEN A RECALL FOR OTHER MODELS SAME YEAR BUT NOT ONE ISSUED FOR THE RAM YET. I AM HAVING A PROBLEM WITH THE TIPM WHICH WAS RECALLED ON THE JEEPS AND GRAND CARAVANS. THE TRUCK TRIES TO START BUT ISNT GETTING ENOUGH FUEL SO THERE IS A DELAY AND SEVERAL DRY STARTS ALSO THE TRUCK DIED THE OTHER DAY ON ME IN TRAFFIC CAUSING ME TO ALMOST GET HIT ON THE DRIVER SIDE. I HAVE THE TRUCK PARKED AT HOME RIGHT NOW SCARED TO DRIVE IT. CALLED DODGE DIRECTLY AFTER SOME INVESTIGATING AND THEY CANT ANSWER MY QUESTIONS.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO STEVE JONES CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM FIAT (2612 TN-46, DICKSON, TN 37055, (615) 326-1234) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED, WHICH CAUSED THE FUEL PUMP TO MALFUNCTION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 160,000.
ENGINE STARTED MISFIRING IN THE NO.1 CYLINDER AND VIOLENTLY SHAKING, VEHICLE THEN LOST POWER TO THE ENGINE NEARLY CAUSING ME TO BE REAR ENDED. TOOK IT TO THE REPAIR SHOP AND DEFECTIVE LIFTERS AND CAMSHAFT WERE FOUND, WITH ONLY 85K MILES THIS SHOULD NOT HAPPEN. DID RESEARCH AND THIS IS A VERY COMMON ISSUE FOR THE 5.7 ENGINES, DEFINITELY NEEDS INVESTIGATED.
VEHICLE MOTOR STOPS RUNNING DURING DRIVING ALL POWER IS LOST, HAD HAPPENED MORE THAN 3 TIMES OVER TIME AND STARTING TO DO IT MORE OFTEN VERY DANGEROUS TO HAVE YOUR VEHICLE SHUT OFF WHILE YOU'RE DRIVING IT.
VEHICLE WILL NOT START NOT GETTING FUEL, REMOTE START WON'T WORK.THE PROBLEMS ARE RELATED TO A FAULTY FUEL PUMP RELAY AND THE NO-START OFTEN OCCUR WHEN THE VEHICLE IS COLD AND PROGRESSIVELY GET WORSE. MY RESEARCH SHOWS THAT THIS ISSUE IS RELATED TO A RECALL FOR FAULTY FUEL RELAYS THAT ARE VERY COMMON IN 2011-2013 VEHICLES, LIKE THE JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE AND DODGE DURANGOS BUT THEY WERE THE ONLY VEHICLES RECALLED. THE PROBLEM IS INTERMITTENT SOMETIMES DAYS APART OR MULTIPLE TIMES THE SAME DAY. I AN DATING THIS TODAY BUT HAVE HAD ISSUES SINCE DECEMBER 2018 IF NOT LONGER.
THE IGNITION SWITCH DOESNT WORK FOR THE KEY FOB AND THE TRUCK WONT START UNLESS THE ALARM GOES OFF THEN A BUNCH OF SENSORS GO OFF AND BEEPS AND WHEN PLUGGED IN SAYS A SENSOR ISSUE BUT THEN THERE IS NO WAY TO FIX IT ACCORDING TO DODGE. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR THE LAST FEW MONTHS.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE ENGINE CYLINDER WAS FAULTY. THE CYLINDER WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURES CONTINUED. THE MANUFACTURER AND LOCAL DEALER WERE NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000.
TIPM MODULE FAILED, CAUSES ENGINE TO STALL DUE TO FUEL PUMP CONTINUOUSLY DRAWING POWER. ENGINE CAN STALL WHILE IN MOTION, SHUTTING VEHICLE OFF. VERY UNSAFE. SEEMS TO BE A KNOWN ISSUE WITH OTHER SIMILAR YEAR DODGE/CHRYSLER MODELS. A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT WAS WON RELATING TO SIMILAR ISSUES ON THOSE OTHER MODELS. WHEN VEHICLE REACHES SPEEDS OF 70+ ON THE INTERSTATE, VEHICLE STARTS SHAKING UNCONTROLLABLY FOR PERIODS OF TIME THEN RETURNS BACK TO NORMAL, HAD TIRES BALANCED AND THE ISSUE CONTINUES
2011 RAM 1500 WITH 5.7 HEMI MOTOR HAS A KNOWN ISSUE FOR CAMSHAFT FAILURE. WHY ISN'T RAM TAKING OWNERSHIP IN THEIR DEFECTIVE PART RATHER THAN MAKING OWNERS SHELL OUT 4000 TO 5000 FOR REPAIRS
OCCURRED WHILE DRIVING - ENGINE CODE FLASHED ON DASHPANEL - DEALERSHIP INDICATED THAT ONE OF THE HYDRAULIC LIFTERS ON CYLINDER #8 SEIZED, WHICH THEN CAUSED SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE TO THE LOBE ON THE CAM. CHRYSLER ENGINEERS AND TECHNICIANS AT THE DEALERSHIP CANNOT DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE DAMAGE TO THE MOTOR. EVERY TESTING SPECIFICATION FOR THE MOTOR COMES BACK AS WITHIN ENGINEERING SPECS... THE ONLY SUGGESTION THAT CHRYSLER HAS AT THIS POINT (WHICH IS AFTER $4800 IN REPAIRS, AND AN ADDITIONAL 57 HOURS OF DIAGNOSTICS) IS TO REPLACE THE MOTOR...?? WHY? THE ENGINE TESTS ARE ALL WITHIN SPECIFICATIONS...
I HAVE A 2011 DODGE RAM 1500 AND I THOUGHT I HAD A BAD FUEL PUMP SO CHANGED IT BUT TO FIND OUT IT'S A TSI RELAY AND HAS ALREADY BEEN RECALLED IN THE SAME YEAR MODEL IN JEEP AND DURANGO AND SINCE MY TRUCK HAS SAME PARTS AS JEEP AND DURANGO WHY HASN'T THIS BEEN TOOK CARE OF ..TRUCK QUITS DRIVING IN ROAD .
TRUCK WONT START .. ALL OTHER CHRYSLER AND JEEP AND DODGES IN 2011 MODELS HAD A RELAY REPAIR RECALL FOR THE FUEL PUMP. THE 2011 RAM 1500 DIS NOT YET THEY ALL USE THE SAME TIPM
MY TRUCK WAS TURNED OFF AND IN MY DRIVEWAY. IT'S BEEN GOING ON FOR ABOUT A MONTH NOW. IT SOUNDS LIKE MY FUEL PUMP IS STILL ON WHEN THE TRUCK IS OFF AND NORMALLY IT TURNS OFF AFTER A FEW MINUTES BUT LATELY IT'S BEEN STAYING ON AND DRAINING MY BATTERY. ALSO, MY WINDOWS ROLL DOWN RANDOMLY AND THE HORN GOES OFF RANDOMLY AS WELL WHEN THE TRUCK IS ON. I DID SOME RESEARCH ON THE TIPM FOR MY VEHICLE AND IT SAYS THE AIR BAGS CAN GO OFF AT ANY TIME AS WELL. HOPEFULLY, YALL DOING SOMETHING ABOUT THE TIPM DUE TO THE SAFETY ISSUES OF THE AIRBAGS DEPLOYING WITHOUT CAUSE BEFORE SOMEONE GETS HURT. I WAS JUST INFORMED BY MY REPAIR SHOP THAT MY TRUCK REQUIRES A NEW TOTAL INTEGRATED POWER MODULE. THIS PART COSTS $1300. IT IS RESPONSIBLE FOR REGULATING POWER TO MANY ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS IN THE TRUCK INCLUDING THE FUEL PUMP. ACCORDING TO MANY ONLINE SOURCES CHRYSLER VEHICLES FROM CERTAIN YEARS, ESPECIALLY 2011, ARE KNOWN TO HAVE FAULTY TIPMS AND THAT THE PROBLEM CAN CAUSE PROBLEMS RANGING FROM ANNOYANCES TO LIFE THREATENING ACCIDENTS. MY SPECIFIC PROBLEM OCCURS BOTH WHEN I AM ATTEMPTING TO START IT AND WHEN I AM DRIVING IT. I AM UNABLE TO PURCHASE THE NECESSARY REPAIR DUE TO THE EXTREME COST OF THE PART. THE UNPREDICTABLE NATURE OF THIS PART MAKES THIS PROBLEM EXTREMELY DANGEROUS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 RAM 1500. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY, THE FUEL PUMP RELAY FAILED WITHIN THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING AND WOULD NOT START ON MORE THAN ONE OCCASION. AN UNKNOWN DODGE DEALER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND DIAGNOSED THAT THE (TIPM -7) FUEL PUMP RELAY WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V530000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM) AS THE SOURCE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 112,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO ELKINS CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM (1434 BEVERLY PIKE, ELKINS, WV 26241, (304) 636-2243) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE BURNED AND CAUSED THE FUEL PUMP TO MALFUNCTION. THE DEALER STATED THAT A NEW FUEL PUMP NEEDED TO BE INSTALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 82,000.
WHEN YOU START THE TRUCK, THE ASB LIGHT COMES ON. THE WIPERS, A/C, HEADLIGHTS, RADIO, AND POWER LOCKS WILL NOT WORK. IF YOU LET THE TRUCK RUN FOR ABOUT 5 MINS, YOU HEAR A 'DING' AND EVERYTHING STARTS WORKING AGAIN AND THE ASB LIGHT GOES OUT. TOOK IT TO A LOCAL MECHANIC AND WAS TOLD THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO DIAGNOSIS THE PROBLEM. THE TRUCK WAS IN PARK. I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE THE VEHICAL BUT THIS IS AN ISSUE IF IT'S RAINING OUTSIDE OR AT NIGHT.
THIS IS IN CONNECTION TO TRACKING NUMBER 10817220. BACK ON 11/15/2015 AT 34,754 MILES I HAD BOTH BUTTER TIE ROD ENDS REPLACED. ON 11/8/2018 AT 66,239 MILES THE SAME PARTS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED A SECOND TIME. TRUCK IS DRIVEN UNDER NORMAL DRIVING CONDITIONS. WOULD LIKE AN INVESTIGATION INTO OUTER TIE ROD ENDS FOR 2011 RAM 1500 FAILING PREMATURELY. APPEARS THERE COULD BE AN ISSUE WITH THE PARTS OR EVEN THE TRUCK'S DESIGN FOR THESE PARTS TO FAIL WITHIN 3 YEARS TIME. AS CHRYSLER REFUSES TO ADDRESS THE ISSUE I WOULD LIKE THE NHTSA TO REVIEW THIS SITUATION.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND STARTED AN INVESTIGATION. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 137,000. *TT *TR CONTACT DETERMINED THAT FUEL PUMP RELAY INTEGRATED INTO THE (TIMP-FUSEBOX) WAS PERMANENTLY IN CLOSED POSITION. YOUR RECALL R09/NHTSA 15V-115. CONTACTS SHORT TERM REMEDY IS TO "JUMP" POWER TO FUEL PUMP FROM ACCESSORIES CIRCUIT IN (TIPM). INCIDENT OCCURRED BEFORE RELAY BECAME CLOSED.*JB
