The heat works on the passenger side but not the drivers side. This makes it impossible to see on cold days because the defrost will not work. It is in the shop now. They have changed actuators, blend doors, heater core and still can't find the issue. When checking the internet, I see that this is a common problem with Dodge, Ram, Chrysler vehicles.
ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING SYSTEM INTERMITTENTLY STOPPED WORKING. AND THEN COMPLETELY FAILED. FIRST NOTICED DURING COLD WEATHER BUT WOULD GO AWAY. THEN COMPLETELY FAILED RECENTLY. NO POWER STEERING. VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY AND PARKED.
12-5-21 DRIVING TO AND FROM STORE. POWER STEERING WARNING LIGHT ACTIVATED AND LOSS POWER STEERING. PUT THE VEHICLE. INTO REVERSE WHEN REALIZED NO STEERING. I THOUGHT MT STEERING WHEEL WAS LOCKED. DEALER HAS IT AT THIS TIME. NO WORK BEING DONE. I FEEL THIS IS RELATED TO THE RECALLS IN THE PAST AND RECENT RECALLS. HELP ME PLEASE.
REFERRING TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V167000. RECALL ON 2015-2016 RAM 1500, EPS CONTROL CIRCUIT COMPONENT FAILURE. RECALL SHOULD BE EXTENDED TO RAM 1500S TO INCLUDE ALL FOURTH GENERATION MODELS, 2013-2019. WHILE DRIVING EXPERIENCED LOSS OF POWER STEERING. THIS PROBLEM WOULD RESOLVE BY RESTARTING THE VEHICLE TO REGAIN NORMAL POWER STEERING. POWER STEERING LOSS WAS INTERMITTENT THEN BECAME MORE FREQUENT TILL COMPLETE LOSS OF POWER STEERING WHICH COULD NOT BE RESOLVED BY RESTARTING THE VEHICLE.
COMPLETE LOSS OF POWER STEERING WHILE DRIVING RESULTING IN DIFFICULTY IN TURNING AND CONTROLLING THE VEHICLE. RESTARTING THE IGNITION WOULD RESULT IN RETURN TO NORMAL POWER STEERING. THE LOSS OF POWER STEERING WAS INTERMITTENT AT FIRST THEN BECAME MORE FREQUENT TILL COMPLETE LOSS OF POWER STEERING WHICH COULD NOT BE RESOLVED BY RESTARTING THE VEHICLE.
The contact owns a 2013 Ram 1500. The contact stated the vehicle had seized and the air ride system became inoperable. The front end was lower than the rear end. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer where the contact was informed that the air ride pump needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failure however, no further assistance was provided. The failure mileage was 99,618.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 RAM 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN THE DRIVEWAY OF THE RESIDENCE, THE STEERING WHEEL SEIZED WITHOUT WARNING AT START-UP. THE CONTACT HAD TO WAIT FOR APPROXIMATELY 24 HOURS FOR THE VEHICLE TO RESUME NORMAL OPERATION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. CUMBERLAND CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM (1550 INTERSTATE DR, COOKEVILLE, TN 38501, (931) 263-0321) WAS CONTACTED AND CONFIRMED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT UNDER RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 63,000.
I WAS TURNING IN TO TRAFFIC AND THE STEERING QUIT WORKING MAKING IT DIFFICULT TO DRIVE. I LOOKED ON THE COMPUTER AND FOUND THAT OTHER PEOPLE HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM, ONE RECOMMENDED TURN THE VEHICLE OFF AND RESTART IT, I TRIED THAT AND IT WORK. I FEEL LIKE THIS ISSUE SHOULD BE A RECALL BECAUSE IT COULD POTENTIALLY CAUSE AN ACCIDENT AND OR SERIOUS INJURIES OR DEATH TO A DRIVER OR OTHER PEOPLE. IN THE 47 YEARS I'VE BEEN DRIVING I HAVE NEVER EXPERIENCED ANYTHING LIKE THIS.
ALL GAUGES STOPPED WORKING. CLUSTER REPLACED 3 TIMES STILL NOT WORKING AT ALL *LN*JB Consumer has contacted dispute center as well as highway safety board.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2013 RAM 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE MAKING A LEFT TURN AT LOW SPEEDS, THE STEERING WHEEL FAILED TO RE-ALIGN TO DRIVE STRAIGHT. THE CONTACT VEERED OFF THE ROAD AND CRASHED INTO THE REAR OF ANOTHER VEHICLE CAUSING THE FRONT DRIVER TIRE, LOWER BALL JOINT SEPARATED FROM THE STEERING KNUCKLE, INNER TIE ROD END, SHOCK ASSEMBLY AND LOWER CONTROL ARM TO DETACH. THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED AND THE STEERING RESUMED TO NORMAL BUT DUE TO THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE DAMAGE, IT NEEDED TO BE TOWED. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE POWER STEERING FAILED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS WHILE DRIVING AT LOW SPEEDS. THE AIR BAG FAILED TO DEPLOY AND THE SEAT BELT FAILED TO RESTRAIN HIM. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT HIT HIS FACE AND WRIST AGAINST THE STEERING WHEEL AND WINDSHIELD GLASS. THE CONTACT MENTIONED HE WOULD BE GOING TO THE HOSPITAL FOR HIS INJURIES. THE OTHER DRIVER WAS NOT INJURED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACTS RESIDENCE. THE DEALER NOR MANUFACTURER WERE INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 97,000.
PURCHASE TRUCK FROM A1 IMPORTS AND DEALER SAID THAT HE DONE SAFETY AND HE WILL PROVIDE NEW TAG WITH SPARE WHEEL. WHEN I RECEIVED TRUCK AND NEXT DAY WHEN I CHECKED SPARE WHEEL, IT IS WAY BIGGER SPARE WHEEL THEN REGULAR 4 WHEEL. I DROVE 300 MILE AND BRAKE PAD FROM FRONT PASSENGER TOTALLY GONE AND DAMAGE FRONT PASSENGER ROTOR TO. WHEN I DID COMPLAIN ABOUT IT TO DEALER, HE DIDN'T SAY ANYTHINGS TO CHANGE AND I WENT THERE WITH NEW ROTOR AND BRAKE PAD SO HE JUST REPLACE IT. I PURCHASED THIS TRUCK ON DEC-2-2020 AND I GOT TEMP TAG UNTIL JAN-2-2021 AND HE TOLD ME THAT I WILL GET MY ONE YEAR TAG IN MAIL WITHIN TIME BUT TILL TODAY IS 6-JAN-2021 AND STILL I AM WAITING FOR MY TAG. I HAVE BEEN TALKING WITH DEALER SINCE JAN-2 FROM EVERY DAY AND HE IS MAKING EXCUSE THAT HE WILL GET TOMORROW BUT HIS TOMORROW WILL NEVER COME YET. AND I AM NOT ABLE TO USE MY TRUCK SINCE 4 DAYS. I HAVE ALL TEXT MSGS REGARDING THIS AND HE IS NOT RESPONDING AS DEALER RESPONSIBILITY. I THINK THIS IS NOT A GOOD PRACTICE AS A DEALER WHO IS SELLING CARS IN GREENVILLE AREA IN NC. MY VEHICLE HAS A PROBLEM WITH THE AIR RIDE SUSPENSION, WHERE THE FRONT END HAS LOWERED AND THE ENTIRE SYSTEM WILL NOT RESPOND. I HAVE LOOKED ON SOME WEBSITES AND FOUND OUT THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM, AND FOR SOME, A REAL SAFETY ISSUE. I HAVE NOT FOUND A RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE, AND WONDERING WHY. I BOUGHT THIS TRUCK IN 2019 AND DID NOT REALIZE THERE WAS AN ISSUE THAT DOES NOT HAVE REMEDY. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND SHOULD BE ADDRESSED AS SUCH. MY VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY AT THE TIME, ALTHOUGH , MANY ON THE WEBSITE COMPLAINED THAT IT HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING.
JUST DRIVING AND POWER STEERING WAS LOST COMPLETELY. I WAS GOING ABOUT 55 AROUND A CURVE AND JUST ABOUT ENDED UP IN THE DITCH AS IT JERKED THE WHEEL! THEY TELL ME IT'S 2700$ TO FIX BUT SEEMS THAT OTHER YEARS HAVE A RECALL ON THE SAME ISSUE AND PART AND I BELIEVE THIS SHOULD BE ONE AS WELL IF I WAS GOING FASTER OR IF A CAR WOULD HAVE BEEN COMING IT COULD HAVE BEEN VERY BAD
I OWN A 2013 DODGE RAM 1500 ITS BEEN DRIVING FINE , WE WENT TO THE STORE ONE DAY AS I WAS DRIVING BACK I WAS MAKING A RIGHT TURN AND LOST POWER STEERING AS I ALMOST HIT ANOTHER CAR . THE MECHANIC DETERMINED THAT THE ELECTRIC POWER STEERING (EPS) GEAR WAS REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19E077000 (STEERING). THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 106,000.*LN*DT*JB*AS

Check engine light blinking. Bad lifter in motor causing the engine to shut down while driving, very very dangerous.

THE FUEL TANK STRAPS AND MOUNTING BRACKET RUSTED OUT AND DISENGAGED FROM THE TANK . FRONT PART OF THE TANK HANGING DOWN . VERY DANGEROUS . DODGE DOES NOT HAVE A RECALL FOR 2013 RAM 1500. THEY NEED TO ADDRESS THIS ASAP LIKE THEY DID FOR PREVIOUS YEAR VEHICLES.
BCM MODULE THAT CONTROLS AUTOMATIC DOOR LOCKS ONLY LOCKS THE DRIVERS DOOR AND THE TAILGATE. PUSHING THE KEY FOB WILL UNLOCK ALL DOORS BUT WILL ONLY LOCK THE DRIVERS DOOR AND TAILGATE. MANY PEOPLE ON THE RAM FORUM REPORT THE SAME ISSUE. IT'S A PROBLEM BECAUSE I CAN'T LOCK THE DOORS AND KEEP MY KIDS INSIDE WITH THE CHILD SAFETY LOCKS ON. UNLESS I GET OUT OF THE CAR OR REACH OVER AND BEHIND ME TO LOCK THEM MANUALLY. PRESSING THE DOOR SWITCH ON EITHER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE WILL NOT LOCK THE OTHER THREE PASSENGER DOORS OR TAILGATE. THIS IS ALSO A SAFETY ISSUE FOR US IF SOMEONE WERE TO TRY AND CARJACK US BECAUSE THE DOORS WON'T LOCK.
MY 2013 DODGE RAM 1500 SUDDENLY LOST POWER STEERING WHILE IN MOTION CAUSING ME TO ENTER A DITCH AND MY VEHICLE SUFFERED MINOR DAMAGE. THE VEHICLE STILL RUNS FINE BUT THE EMERGENCY LIGHT IS STILL ON AND THERE IS NO POWER STEERING. ONLINE RESEARCH SHOWED MOPAR KNOWS THIS IS AN ISSUE WITH 2013-2015 MODELS AND RECALLS EXIST BUT MY VIN SHOWS NO SUCH RECALL. LIVES WILL BE LOST IF THIS ISSUE IS NOT ADDRESSED. MY VEHICLE ONLY HAS 70,000 MILES ON IT AND INSTANT POWER STEERING LOSS ON A FULLY FUNCTIONAL VEHICLE IS VERY CONCERNING. IF SOMEONE IS ON A CURVE AS I WAS THERE IS NO WAY TO NAVIGATE THE SITUATION.

THE WIRING HARNESS FOR THE DRIVER'S SIDE HEADLIGHT IS FAULTY. IT HAS BEEN REPAIRED AND RECONNECTED SEVERAL TIMES AND THE HEADLIGHT CONTINUE TO TURN OFF WHILE DRIVING. IF IT'S UNPLUGGED AND RECONNECTED IT WILL WORK FOR A WHILE. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE AMONGST RAM OWNERS BASED ON MY INTERNET RESEARCH. I CAN'T BELIEVE RAM HAS NOT ALREADY ISSUED A RECALL FOR THIS AS THEY SHOULD KNOW, BASED ON THEIR REPAIRS, THAT THIS WIRING HARNESS IS FAULTY.

FIRST THING THAT HAPPENED DASHBOARD AND RADIO LIGHTS WERE GLITCHING ON AND OFF THEN WARNING INDICATOR STATED MY REAR BRAKES LIGHTS WERE OUT THEN MY TURN SIGNALS,THEN IT STATED MY HEADLIGHTS WERE OUT BUT NONE OF THESE LIGHTS OR SIGNALS WERE OUT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 47,000.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. THE CONTACT STATED THE FAILURE WAS SIMILAR TO THAT OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V167000 (STEERING). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 78,500.
MY 2013 RAM 1500 LARAMIE LONGHORN WITH 27394 ORIGINAL MILES SUFFERED A POWER STEERING FAILURE. ACCORDING TO THE DEALER TECHNICIAN'S TESTS..."INTERNAL FAULT IN ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING SYSTEM...NEED TO REPLACE STEERING RACK/ EPS MODULE ASSY". FORTUNATELY, I HAPPEN TO BE OFF ROAD WHEN IT FAILED SO IT WAS NOT HAZARDOUS TO ME. I MANAGED TO OPERATE STEERING USING MANUAL POWER TO GET HOME AND LATER TO THE DEALER. IN SEARCHING THE INTERNET, I DISCOVERED 64 COMPLAINTS WITH NHTSA OF MY MODEL YEAR FAILURE OF THE ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING....I ALSO DISCOVERED THAT THERE IS A RECALL FOR THE SAME FAILURES IN MODEL YEARS 2015 AND 2016 RAMS. APPARENTLY MANUFACTURER WAS USING SAME TECHNOLOGY IN MY MODEL YEAR AS IN 2015/ 2016 SO WHY ISN'T THE RECALL APPLICABLE TO MY VEHICLE AND OTHER 2013 RAMS?
DIGITAL INSTRUMENT PANEL GOES OFF WHILE DRIVING (COMES AND GOES)! THIS PANEL HAS MILEAGE, SPEEDOMETER, OIL CHANGE INFO, TEMPERATURE, ETC. IT WILL STAY OFF AND RANDOMLY COME BACK ON!
I AM VERY UPSET THAT RAM TRUCKS FROM 2011 TO 2014 HAVE CONSISTENTLY BEEN HAVING ISSUES WITH THE 5TH CYLINDER, (CYL 5 MISFIRE) AND AS TO MY SURPRISE IS A VERY EXPENSIVE REPAIR ILL BE OUT OF AT LEAST OUT OF 3600.00 (THAT I DON'T HAVE, AND DEFINITELY CANNOT AFFORD A NEW VEHICLE) SPECIALLY WITH ALL THE ISSUES THAT ARE GOING ON WITH COVID-19 AND THE ECONOMY. NOT SURE HOW LONG THE REPAIRS WILL HOLD UP BECAUSE FROM THE AMOUNT OF COMPLAINTS, THIS ISSUE NEEDS TO BE A RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED FOR THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 95,000.
CAMSHAFT AND CAMSHAFT LIFTERS ARE CAUSING MISFIRE UNDER LOAD (SHAKING BADLY AT 50 MPH). THIS IS THE SECOND TRUCK THAT WE HAVE OWNED WITH THE EXACT SAME ISSUE.
MY TRUCK HAS AN AIR SUSPENSION SYSTEM. THE ISSUE BEGAN WHEN THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG BEGAN TO LOWER THREE INCHES OVERNIGHT. THEN ON THE HIGHWAY I RECEIVED A MESSAGE FROM THE TRUCK SAYING THE SUSPENSION NEEDED IMMEDIATE ATTENTION. WHEN I GOT TO THE DESTINATION BOTH THE FRONT AND REAR PASSENGER SUSPENSION FAILED AND WAS RIDING ON THE FRAME. I HAVE HAD THE ASCM AND NITROGEN REPLACED, BUT THE BOTH FRONT SUSPENSIONS LOWER 2-3 INCHES WHILE IT SITS OVERNIGHT.
THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER LIGHTS CONSTANTLY GO IN AND OUT REGARDLESS OF TEMPERATURE OR DAY OR NIGHT.

WE WERE TRAVELING ABOUT 70 MPH ON I75 SOUTH IN FLORIDA WHEN SUDDENLY THE POWER STEERING FAILED. A WARNING FLASHED ON THE SCREEN. ON TURNING THE MOTOR OFF THE POWER STEERING WOULD TEMPORARILY REGAIN FUNCTION ONLY TO AGAIN FAIL IN A SHORT DISTANCE. AFTER FAILURE IT WAS VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO CONTROL THE VEHICLE AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS WITHOUT MANHANDLING THE STEERING WHEEL. I KNOW THERE WERE OTHER RECALLS FOR THE EXACT SAME TYPE OF ISSUE WITH THE SAME RAM TRUCKS.
VEHICLE HAS 77,000 MILES AND @ 1000 MILES AGO A NOTICEABLE CHANGE IN RIDE AND HANDLING. RIDE HAS BECOME VERY STIFF AT ALL SPEEDS ABOVE 35 MPH. VEHICLE ALSO HAS A TENDENCY TO GIVE THE FELLING OF FLOATING WHEN CORNERING. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALER 4 TIMES AND THEY CANNOT FIND ANY CODES TO TELL THEM SOMETHING IS WRONG? THEY HAVE CHANGE MANY PARTS, SHOCKS, IDLER ARMS, RUBBER SUSPENSION BUSHINGS, ETC, THEY HAVE ACKNOWLEDGED THE ROUGH RIDE, BUT CANNOT FIND THE REASON? I BELIEVE IT IS A SENSOR OR REGULATOR VALVE, THAT CONTROLS THE AIR SUSPENSION AT VARIOUS SPEEDS AND WHEN CORNERING. I CONFIRMED MY TIRE PRESSURE READINGS ARE ACCURATE WITH A PRESSURE GAUGE AND MY TIRE PRESSURE IS BELOW THE TIRE OR VEHICLE DOOR FRAME RECOMMENDED TIRE AIR PRESSURE. RECENTLY,, AFTER DRIVING OUT TO CAPTIVA ISLAND IN FORT MYERS, I GOT BACK IN MY 2013 RAM 1500 TRUCK (A HEMI) AND HAD NO POWER STEERING. I HAD TO MANAGE DRIVING OVER BRIDGES AND WATER WAYS TO GET BACK HOME WITH GREAT DIFFICULTY. IF THIS HAD HAPPENED WHILE I WAS ON THE BRIDGE OVER WATER IT COULD HAVE BEEN QUITE SCARY. ON INVESTIGATING SAW THAT THIS HAS BEEN A SAFETY RECALL ITEM ON LATER MODELS LIKE 2015 AND 2016, WHY NOT THE 2013. IT IS THE SAME PART AND WAS THE FIRST YEAR FOR THE ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING ASSIST. THIS IS COSTING $2300.00 TO FIX AS THE WHOLE RACK AND PINION STEERING NEEDS REPLACING. THE MOST EXPENSIVE THING POSSIBLE AS WELL AS BEING A GRAVE SAFETY ISSUE. PLEASE INVESTIGATE THIS. THE PASSENGER OCCUPANCY SENSOR DOES NOT WORK PROPERLY WHICH DISABLES THE AIRBAG EVEN IF SOMEBODY IS RIDING AND THE PASSENGER SIDE BECAUSE THE VEHICLE THINKS NOBODY IS THERE THIS COULD POTENTIALLY BE FATAL FOR THE PASSENGER DURING A CRASH I FOUND THIS OUT WHEN A PASSENGER UNBUCKLED THE SEAT BELT (THIS HAPPENS WHILE DRIVING OR STATIONARY) THE CHIME/ LIGHT DID NOT COME ON AFTER FURTHER INSPECTION I FOUND THAT THE IN THE SEAT PAD SENSOR MUST BE FAULTY I'VE REACHED OUT TO RAM THEY HAVE NO INTENTIONS OF REPAIRING THE FAULTY SAFETY EQUIPMENT.
