Gas tank strap broke
Fuel sensor failure - fuel gauge no longer operational and check engine light on.
It has the 5.7 hemi, well it's always had a hemi tick, well one day I tried accelerating threw an intersection where it stumbled and died, another car almost hit but luckily he was able to stop. Come to find out the lifter has eating my cam lobe to the point where it's missing on one cylinder. I've did some research and it seems like a very common saftey problem, that seriously needs to be addressed, along with the exaughst manifold bolts that breaks, and can cause a fire do to the exaughst leak.
Thursday, July 21, 2022 11:46 AM The foam that is minimally-glued into the headrest popped off of the shell after a couple months of use. We were able to hold it in place with the fabric cover for several months. Then, the foam began slipping and ultimately cracked in half. We were unable to keep it in place after that. We have photos of the damage. The seat has been destroyed per the request of the manufacturer. Once the headrest is raised above the level of the outer seat shell, any amount of pressure or holding onto the headrest causes it to bend and flex. I believe this allowed the headrest foam to pop off. Without the foam in the correct location, there is not appropriate padding for the child's head in an accident. A report was made to Chicco. Though outside of the warranty period, Chicco replaced the seat.
The contact owns a 2014 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while driving approximately 65 MPH and hauling a 30-foot-long travel trailer, the power steering malfunctioned, causing the steering wheel to become difficult to turn in either direction. During the failure, the service power steering message was displayed. The driver was able to maneuver the vehicle to the shoulder and stopped the vehicle. After turning off and restarting the vehicle, the vehicle operated as normal. However, five days later the failure recurred as a permanent failure. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer who diagnosed that the electronic power steering gear and rack and pinion had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 47,000.
The contact's daughter owns a 2014 Dodge Ram 1500. The contact stated while driving at 55 MPH with her children sitting in the front passenger and rear passenger seats, the vehicle in front of her stopped inadvertently. The contact's daughter depressed the brake pedal and attempted to quickly veer to the side of the road to prevent her vehicle from crashing into the vehicle in front of her. However, the steering wheel locked and the vehicle crashed into the rear end of the vehicle in front of her. The air bags failed to deploy. The message "Malfunctioning Steering" was displayed. The bumper and front grill of the vehicle detached. The contact's daughter sustained bruises and soreness all over the body. The contact was unsure whether his grandchildren sustained injuries. The passenger of the other vehicle did not sustain injuries. A police report was filed. The contact's daughter was taken to the hospital with the assistance of emergency units. The vehicle was towed to a tow yard. The vehicle was then towed to the contact's residence. An unknown Dodge dealer was notified of the vehicle but provided no assistance. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and a case was opened. The contact was awaiting a call back from the manufacturer. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000. The VIN was not available.
Fuel sensor failure at around 100,000 miles. A quick search reveals this is an extremely common issue and even more upsetting is seeing how many people experience recurrent failures within a year of replacing. This is a major safety issue if my vehicle randomly runs out of gas on a busy highway, which is far more likely considering the sensor failure will not allow the engine to enter ECO mode. My other issue is the hemi tick which could either be the exhaust bolts or the cam going out. Why haven't these issues been recalled?
The rack and pinion which is electronic failed and caused me to crash because it could not steer. There are 1500 plus other vehicles waiting for the same part. Which you can't get a new one because they are on back order. But with that many vehicles waiting for the same part it should be a recall on them.
While driving on the interstate, towing a 17' ultralight camping trailer, the vehicle made a very loud "BANG" noise from under the hood and immediately decelerated to a much lower speed (~20MPH). I was able to maintain control and guide the truck to the shoulder as traffic was light. Upon opening the hood the large turbo inter-cooler hose had separated the black rubber section from the steel coupling in the front-drivers side area of the engine. The hose clamps had apparently failed. Upon reconnecting the hose to the coupling with the clamps I attempted to restart the engine and proceed. The engine started, but had a check-engine indicator. As soon as I put the truck into gear and tried to accelerate the bang noise happened again and the hose disconnected. I called a tow truck and was towed to the nearest town with a Ram dealer (30+ miles). The dealer was able to diagnose and verify the issue and also locate and replace the entire turbo inter-cooler hose and reset the check-engine indicator resolving the "limp-mode" state. The Ram service center kept the old part but provided a detailed invoice representing the failure. If the interstate was busier (it was Sunday afternoon) the situation could have been very much worse as the deceleration was immediate and other cars could have collided with the slowing truck.
Power Steering went out.
Electronic power steering gear went out. Verified at Ram dealership. This did not happen while driving down the road thank God. In driveway so no injuries caused from incident. This over $3,000 Repair should be covered under recall VB9/ NHTSA 19E-077????? Have dealership invoice for paid in full proof.
I have noticed the slight loss of power for the recall that is listed. It has been almost a year now and still no answer. I have contacted my dealer and they say it will be atleast till the end of the year. I have had some very close call instances, fortunately I have had no accidents. I have had to replace 2 fuel pumps. I really do not want to replace another one, but it seems as though they last about 6 months. I feel it would be appropriate to speed this proccess up or if i could get a rental until this recall is fixed. Thank you.
This is an ongoing problem where if my fuel level gets down to about a quarter of a tank the truck will spurt and stall. I try to keep a minimum half tank at most times. This recall has been about a year now with no remedy in place. This is a true safety issue and needs to be resolved and all the service tech's say is there's no remedy at this time. I would like to trade/sell this vehicle but it should be sold with a safety recall like this. Why is nothing being done about this.
Recall VB9/NHTSA 19E-077. Recall is similar to problems with my 2014 Dodge Ram pickup with regard to the electric power steering module over heating code C2210 - And C2217. Causing the electric power steering to fail. Models 1500 Dodge Ram 2013-2019 Are included in the recall. my electronic power steering has been built with a contaminated circuit card assembly also but doesn’t show on my particular Vin number. An has yet to be added to the recall list. After a diagnostic from the dealership at dodge they found the issue to be identified as identical to open recall noted above. Vehicle was in for diagnostic today at the dealership.

This is in regard to NHTSA recall 22V-406. This recall has been in effect for over a year, with the possibility of the vehicle shutting down while driving causing a crash. They have not issued a remedy in a timely manner. Can the NHTSA please follow up as this is a safety issue. Thanks.
I HAVE A 2014 DODGE RAM 1500 94000 MILES GAS TANK FELL AND THE HANGER WAS RUBBING AGAINST THE DRIVESHAFT WHICH WAS MAKE A NOISE SO I INVESTIGATED IT WHEN I GOT HOME FROM WORK I HAVE THE SAME ISSUES AS THIS RECALL Part 573 Safety Recall Report 18V-160 :The fuel tank is held in place by a front strap and a rear strap. The front fuel tank strap frame “T -Slot” bracket may corrode permitting the front fuel tank strap to detach. With the front fuel tank strap detached, the fuel tank is primarily secured by the rear strap, however, the front of the fuel tank may be allowed to lower several inches.Description of the Safety Risk : Based upon FCA US’ investigation of this issue, and review of the available information, data, and analysis, and considering approximately nine years of field experience, as well as the audible notice provided to the operator to detect when this condition is present, FCA US has determined that the detachment of the front fuel tank strap in the subject vehicles could potentially allow the front of the fuel tank to make contact with the ground, increasing the risk of a fuel leak. A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source could result in a fire.
Internal Abs control module failure. Have been waiting 2 years my warranty is about to expire.
I was driving down the highway and when I went to accelerate I heard a loud "clunk" like my transmission dropped. After the loud clunk an indicator came across my dashboard stating "service electronic throttle control". I pulled off to the side of the highway shut my vehicle off and tried to restart it just to make sure it wasn't a glitch. Upon starting the vehicle again, there was a very long delay considered to be a hard start. Since the vehicle started I decided to try to merge back onto the highway but as I was trying to accelerate the vehicles rpm would not go past 3000 rpms and would not accelerate past 40 mph. I shut the vehicle off and had it towed home. I took the vehicle to the dealership around the corner from my home and they scanned it. The code that popped up was P0336 (crankshaft position sensor). Upon further investigation the dealer diagnosed the problem to be the Tone Wheel/Reluctor ring breaking. FCA has an open recall for this exact issue W58/W68, but my vehicle is not included because it was built for the Canadian market. Although, my vehicle is a DS model with the sales code EXF.

Safety Recall Z46 has not been resolved, for 18 months, due to "parts not available"! If it's truly a SAFETY issue, how can this not be addressed in a timely fashion?
The contact owns a 2014 Ram 1500. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V406000 (Fuel System, Diesel) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle made abnormally loud noises and then stalled. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the engine needed to be replaced due to fractured rods. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was opened. The failure mileage was 71,735. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
The contact owns a 2014 Ram 1500. While driving approximately at 70 MPH, the contact stated that following a highway turn to the right the steering wheel felt loose. The contact used the steering wheel lever downward and felt that the steering wheel was still loose. The contact used the steering wheel adjusting lever again to lift the steering wheel back up when the entire steering came off in the contact's hands. The contact stated he did not notice any warning lights being illuminated. The contact advised that the vehicle crossed two lanes of traffic barely avoiding a collision. The contact stated that he was able to safely stop the vehicle before crashing into the highway barrier wall on the left. The contact said he felt great fear and suffered a panic attack due to the failure. Medical attention was not sought and he was able to reattach the steering wheel back onto the column. The contact stated he drove the vehicle to his residence. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 120,000.
Service Power Steering warning came on and there was no ability to move the wheel without a great deal of effort. I needed to make an appointment and couldn't even get out of the driveway due to the lack of power steering and turn radius. Major issue for us as the truck is rendered useless during cooler days up to 80 degrees F. This is a vehicle that I do not feel safe in, let alone put our infant in a "very safe vehicle" to drop off or pick up from daycare where the steering wheel feels locked up.
My ABS Module light came on, along with my traction control and emergency brake light and my cruise stopped working. I took it to the dealer and they said it was an ABS Module, but it would be six months before I could get one. There are no ABS Modules available, evey dealer I have called has some but they can't sell them. My question is, why are there none available. The dealers say they are a known problem and with losing traction control it seems to be a safety problem, yet there is no recall on them. My truck is drivable, but not safely without traction control. Can someone look into this?
On May 16th 2022 I was driving my truck when the ABS LIGHT, TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT , EMERGENCY BRAKE LIGHT came on and my cruise control stopped working. I put a code reader on it and it gave me 220049, ABS system. To narrow it down to a component I had to take it tp a Dodge service. For $138 they told me it was an ABS Module internl failure. They said they could get me one for $1200, but it would take 6 months. Back logged due to covid. I came back home and tried to find one, no luck nobody had any available. So i found a company in GA that repairs them. I sent it in and had it repaired for under $300. When I got it back I installed it and it worked for less than a month. I started doing some research, looks like the reason there are no ABS Modules available is because everyone is having problems with the ABS Modules and it started well before covid. My truck only has 62,000 miles.on it as well as a lot of other trucks having problems. I know the brakes will continue to work if the ABS Module goes out but you lose traction control. If this is such an issue? Dodge should own up to the problem and send out a recall and fix then known problem
I filed a complaint on 7/4/2022, complaint number 11472254. Since then, I have done some research and found out that there have been MANY FAILURES OF THE ABS MODUALS on RAM trucks. I have attempted to buy a new one, but there are none. I called dealerships around the United States, and many have some in stock but can't sell them (won't sell them). And if I try and order from a local dealership, the part has a 6-month lead time. I have asked why the has not been a recall and I have been told it's not a safety issue and that traction control is a nice to have option. While looking at a new dodge Ram, I noticed that traction control and antilock brakes are listed under SAFETY (please see attached). If this is a SAFETY issue, why hasn't there been a RECALL issued?
Good morning, I am a user and owner of a RAM 1500 year 2014 and with 90,000 km I have had the problem for the second time that the screws that hold the exhaust manifolds are cut, causing fire to come out of the engine compartment, which can cause the vehicle to catch fire, this It is a typical problem in these HEMI engines, so I was talking with other owners of RAM 1500, they should make a solution to this problem since several people including are thinking of selling the unit and looking for other brands. From now cordial greetings [XXX] INFORMATION Redacted PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).
The instrument cluster keeps going black.
EPS went out at 115,000. Dodge is not making the part so it's impossible to get fixed. Also as I did research I noticed many complaint that EPS went out on others with much lower mileage, yet out of warranty, and there is no recall. Apparently there is or 2015 and 2016 for the same issue
Vehicle engine stopped suddenly on highway while traveling 50mph. Dash message was about service electronic throttle system. Vehicle coasted to a stop without power steering or brakes. Vehicle would not restart and was taken via Wrecker service to the dealership. Tone Ring failed along with crankshaft position sensor. There are two recalls (W58 and W68) dealing with this issue for other VIN numbers in the 2014 model year. Chrysler is not acknowledging that this issue also applies to my vehicle and isn't covering the tone ring under the recall or warranty. This should be investigated as a broader application of the W58 and W68 recall.
when I pulled to release my emergency brakes the pull to release handle broke. Had a really hard time trying to release brake. brake can still be set, but no release. was plastic that broke.
^ months ago my truck would not start and the doors would not unlock using the keyfob. Had it towed to the dealer and they said it was the module for the key system not communicating. after 2 months they finally installed a new module. Took the truck home and it stalled on me 3 time at 70mph and the interstate. Took back to the dealer and they contacted Ram engineers and they told them it was a broken wire . Finally got the truck but would not start the next day. I have researched and found that the TIPMs were going to be recalled but it was denied. Yesterday 9/16/22 I was told the truck was ready and when I went to pick it up it wouldnt start. Is there going to be a recall on the TIPMs?
The contact owns a 2014 Ram 1500. The contact stated while driving approximately 20 MPH the vehicle inadvertently shifted into neutral. The service light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 125,000.
The contact owns a 2014 Ram 1500. The contact stated while driving 2 MPH and coming to a stop at a traffic sign, he heard a loud scraping noise coming from the rear of the vehicle. The contact pulled over and observed that the fuel tank was sagging and a support strap was detached. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact had the vehicle towed to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the supports where the fuel tank straps were attached had rusted completely and the fuel tank had become loosened. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 120,000.
The 3.6-liter V6 24-valve VVT engine which is defective and is a safety hazard. First pinging then the truck stalls out in traffic. Dodge does not stand behind the Lifetime limited Powertrain warranty they sold me when I bought the truck because the dealer, I bought it from closed. Dodge knowing these engines are defective put us customers in life threating situations because of the faulty components in these engines. They put the cost on the customers to fix the faulty rockers and lifters, valves, camshafts. So, I paid $3,400.00 to have it fixed with them installing new defective parts that will fail again and put my life in danger when the truck just stalls out.
2014 RAM ECO DIESEL. THE HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP FAILED ON THE INTERSTATE WHILE PASSING A SEMI TRUCK. THIS FAILURE SENT METAL THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE FUEL SYSTEM TO INCLUDE; INJECTORS, FUEL LINES, FUEL RETURN LINES, FUEL RAIL, AND FUEL TANK. THE TRUCK IMMEDIATELY WENT INTO LIMP MODE, THEN A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT APPEARED AND FINALLY A LOW OIL PRESSURE LIGHT. NO OTHER WARNINGS OR SYMPTOMS APPEARED PRIOR TO FAILURE. I PULLED ON THE INTERSTATE IMMEDIATELY AS THE TRUCK HAD NO POWER. ALL OF THIS HAPPENED WITHIN 30 SECONDS OR SO. I WAS FORCED TO QUICKLY MOVE TO THE SHOULDER AND MOVE OUT OF THE TRUCKS WAY AS MY VEHICLE WAS EMITTING SIGNIFICANT WHITE SMOKE OUT OF THE EXHAUST. THE ISSUE IS CONFIRMED WITH A RAM DEALER IN BOZEMAN MT. AWAITING PARTS THAT ARE CURRENTLY ON BACK ORDER. BEEN 2 MONTHS ALREADY
The contact owns a 2014 Ram 1500. The contact stated while driving approximately 65 MPH, the vehicle stalled in the middle of the highway. There were several unknown warning lights illuminated. The contact was able to veer to the side of the road. The vehicle was towed to a local dealer who diagnosed that the crankshaft position sensor was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 117,770.
INTERSECTION,I PROCEEDED TO TURN LEFT, THE WHEEL TURNED TO THE RIGHT AND LOCKED i STRUIGGLED TO CONTROLD THE VEHICLE, DESPERATELY TRYING NOT TO HIT A MAN CROSSING THE STREET IN A WHEELCHAIR. i LOST CONTROL, JUMPED A CURVE AND HIT A LIGHT POLE. MY FACE HIT THE STEERING WHEEL. FOUR OF MY TEETH WERE KNOCKED LOOSE. IHAD TO HAVE THEM PULL DUE TO AN INFECTION. MY HEAD AND NECK WAS JERKED AROUND TWICE. I WAS IN SHOCK & TERRIFIED I DROVE HOME CALLED MY SON, HE IMMEDIATELY CAME TO DRIVE THE TRUCK TO MY HOME, I MANAGED. MY DENTIST PULLED THREE TEETH AND THEN ONE MORE BECAUSE THEY BECAME INFECTED. THIS STEERING PROBLEM WAS NOT NORMAL., NO FLUID LOSS, N0 WARNING. MY TRUCK HAD BEEN IN THE SHOP 4-6 WEEKS PRIOR A COMPLETE DIAGNOSIS WAS CONDUCTED. THERE WAS NO INDICATION THAT THIS WAS AN ISSUE, HAD I TURN TO THE RIGHT I WOULD HAVE CAUSED A MAJOR ACCIDENT ON THE FREEWAY. INSTEAD OF GOING HOME THAT NIGHT i WAS GOING TO SEE MY 6 YEAR OLD GRANDDAUGHTER. MY INSURANCE COMPANY TOLD ME TO PLACE IN THE SHIOP. AFTER THE REPAIRS THEY SAID THEY WOULD NOT COVER THE $5,000 REPAIR BECAUSE THEY DISCOVERED IT WAS A WEAR AND TEAR. THIS IS FALSE. I CALLED FCA they informed me that my warranty was out. I telephoned them several times to inform them this was not a warranty issue. The same issue for the recall, reoccurred. it wasn't unit I informed them of my injury, then they informed me they would send someone to investigate. They sent their Engineering Analysis associates/Bosch Automotive Services Solutions to exam the repaired vehicle. It was at that point they read the report from Lithia Dodge Ram, the dealer my deceased husband purchased this death trap and examined it, but they could not find no evidence of a manufacturing issue, no evidence of power steering, electrical nor the throttle. Well, this is a problem because my invoice I was given and I was advised the report code stated it was electrical steering rack, a manufacturer problem THOUSANDS COMPLAINED. #ACCOUNTABILITY!
2014 RAM 1500. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO DEFECTIVE CLOCK SPRING STEERING COLUMN CONTROL MODULE (SCCM).
Electronic Power Steering Module causing intermittent power steering loss. Making it difficult to steer.
When the truck is started the service shifter light comes on and will not let you shift the truck out of park. Then when driving down the road the light will come on and the truck will automatically shift in park and you can’t do anything but coast of the road to stop. It’s extremely hard to turn the steering to get off the road. This was fixed once at a dodge dealership and they said it was fixed and clearly it is not. This has happened to many trucks. I feel this need attention and fixed for the safety of others.
Fuel Tank Hanger Broke. The fuel tank was hanging. Repair person confirmed the frame had rotted, and the mounting bracket was not good. Fuel tank needed to be removed and the new bracket was installed and the fuel tank reinstalled. Safety was at risk - fire/explosion hazard. Contacted the Dodge dealer and was unable to secure an appointment for two weeks . This was unacceptable. First noticed problem on 03/03/22. Repair taken place on 03/07/22. Located a recall for this exact problem on 2009-2012 Dodge Ram 1500 trucks - my exact model. My truck is a 2014 with only 103360 miles. This issue on new models of the Dodge Ram 1500 after 2012 should be investigated and repairs should be reimbursed to truck owners who have been forced to make repairs - especially when the dealer could not accommodate with an appointment.
The bracket for the gas tank was rusted and fell off while I was driving home last night. The front of the gas tank dropped down about 6”. I am still waiting to hear from the dealer to see if it is covered because I know there were safety issues with other years with Ram trucks. Then I will have to get it towed there and repaired.
