WHEN THE TEMPERATURE OUTSIDE GETS BELOW FREEZING, THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKS UP AND WILL NOT TURN, WHILE THE VEHICLE IS STATIONARY. THE SERVICE POWER STEERING MESSAGE WILL APPEAR. IF THE VEHICLE IS WARMED UP FOR UP SEVERAL MINUTES, THEN TURNED COMPLETELY OFF UNTIL THE DISPLAY LIGHTS TURN OFF; THEN RESTART THE ENGINE, THE VEHICLE WILL RESET ITSELF, AND WILL TO WORK NORMALLY AGAIN.
I HAD TO HAVE MY EXHAUST FLEX PIPE REPLACED PIPE CONNECTS ENGINE TO EXHAUST SYSTEM. I HAVE DONE RESEARCH ON THIS PROBLEM ON VEHICLES USING 3.0LITER ECODIESEL. THE PIPE DEGRADES AND STARTS LEAKING EXHAUST INTO THE CAB. ON LINE FORUMS DISCUSS THIS PROBLEM WITH ALL THE VEHICLES THAT USE THIS MOTOR. 2014 ALL THE WAY UP TO 2020 VEHICLES. THE COST FOR ME WAS $7,000.00 TO HAVE IT REPLACED. THE COST ITSELF IS DIFFICULT FOR ANYONE TO COME UP WITH AND I WOULD ASSUME YOU WILL LOOK INTO THIS FURTHER. THIS IS HAPPENING AT VERY LOW MILEAGE, MY TRUCK HAS ONLY 43,000 MILES. SOME WITH MUCH LESS MILEAGE. PLEASE LOOK AT THIS PROBLEM AS A SAFETY AND HEALTH ISSUE. THE EFFECT OF CARBONMONOXIDE POISONING AND TRAFFIC ACCIDENTS ARE HIGH AND WHAT IT DOES TO THE BRAIN. THE SMELL OF EXHAUST GETS INTO THE VEHICLES WEATHER MOVING OR STATIONARY. THANK YOU!
SATURDAY EVENING WE WERE EXISTING THE INTERSTATE WHEN I STARTED TO SMELL WHAT SEEMED LIKE A CHEMICAL SMELL. WE COULD NOT FIGURE OUT WHERE THIS SMELL WAS COMING FROM. AS WE PROCEEDED DOWN THE HIGHWAY, I STARTED TO GET WARM SO I TURNED OFF THE HEATED SEAT. WHEN WE ARRIVED AT OUR DESTINATION, I COULD STILL SMELL THE SOMETHING OUT OF THE NORMAL. I BEGIN TO LOOK ALL AROUND. SMELLING MY JACKET TO MAKE SURE THE KIDS DIDN'T SPILL SOMETHING ON IT, OR JUST TRY TO FIND WHERE THE SMELL WAS COMING FROM. FINALLY, I TURN AROUND AND REALIZE MY HEATED SEAT HAD CAUGHT FIRE. THANK GOD I HAD TURNED THE SEAT WARMER OFF MOMENTS EARLIER. LUCKY FOR ME, THE TRUCK DID NOT GO UP IN FLAMES. THE SEAT HAS A DEEP BURN HOLE AND MY JACKET (WHICH WAS BETWEEN THE SEAT AND MYSELF) HAS 2 BURNS IN IT. I WAS UNHARMED BUT IF IT WASN'T FOR ME TURNING THE SEAT OFF, I'M AFRAID OF WHAT MAY HAVE HAPPENED. OUR TRUCK IS STILL UNDER AN EXTENDED WARRANTY AND IS NOW AT THE DEALERSHIP TO BE REPAIRED. HOWEVER, I ASKED THE DEALERSHIP WHO IS TO REPORT SUCH THINGS? THEY EXPRESSED THAT THEY WERE NOT SURE, BUT THEY DO NOT. WE HAVE AN OPEN CASE NOW THROUGH THE DEALERSHIP AND WAITING FOR FURTHER INSTRUCTIONS.
AIR RIDE SUSPENSION DROPS TO BUMP STOPS CAUSING ROUGH RIDE AND LOSE OF CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS ISSUE THAT COULD HAVE CAUSED SERIOUS INJURY OR WORSE. VERY POOR DESIGN...
I NOTICED A TICKING SOUND AND POWER LOSS PLUS MY ENGINE WOULD NOT REV PAST 4,000 RPM. THE FIRST MECHANIC STATED AN EXHAUST HEADER LEAK. HE FOUND THREE BROKEN BOLTS AND STATED THIS IS A VERY COMMON 5.7L HEMI ISSUE (MY RESEARCH CONFIRMED THIS). $1,200 TO REPAIR. THE TICKING WAS STILL THERE HOWEVER. THE SECOND MECHANIC (2 MONTHS LATER) FOUND A MISFIRE ON CYLINDER 5. FURTHER DIGGING SHOWED THE LIFTER HAD FAILED AND THE CAM LOBE WAS GROUND DOWN. METAL SHAVINGS WERE DISPERSED THROUGHOUT THE ENGINE. BEST REPAIR WAS A NEW ENGINE $9,556. I'VE NOW SPENT ALMOST HALF OF WHAT I PAID FOR THIS VEHICLE ON REPAIRS. THE SECOND MECHANIC STATED THIS LIFTER ISSUE IS VERY COMMON TOO. HE WAS SURPRISED THERE WAS NOT ALREADY A RECALL ON THIS ISSUE. IF YOU SCOUR THE WEB IT'S ABUNDANTLY CLEAR THAT THIS LIFTER ISSUE IS INDEED A PROBLEM WITH BOTH THE 5.7L AND 6.3L HEMI MOTORS. THIS COULD BE A SAFETY ISSUE IF THE ENGINE WERE TO CATASTROPHICALLY FAIL WHILE IN MOTION ON THE HIGHWAY OR ELSEWHERE.
MY CHECK AIR BAG SYSTEM WARNING LIGHT ON THE DASHBOARD TURNS ON RANDOMLY. I HAD THIS ISSUE FIXED LAST SUMMER AND THE DEALER SAID IT WAS A WIRING ISSUE. I AM CONCERNED THIS ISSUE HAS UNDERLYING PROBLEMS.

I HAVE TAKEN IT TO AN CERTIFIED MECHANIC AND ITS NOT THE EXHAUST OR THE LIFTERS THE NOISE IS COMES FROM BETWEEN THE TRANSMISSION AND THE MOTOR
THE PLASTIC OIL COOLER/FILTER HOUSING CRACKED AND IS LEAKING OIL ON MY RAM TRUCK WITH V6 PENTASTAR ENGINE. THIS HAS BEEN A KNOWN ISSUE WITH THIS PART ASSEMBLY FOR SEVERAL+ YEARS ALREADY. IT CRACKED ABOUT 3 WEEKS AGO ALONG WITH SEVERAL THOUSANDS OF OTHER PEOPLE ACROSS THE UNITED STATE DURING THE COLD WEATHER THAT A GOOD PORTION OF THE UNITED STATES WENT THROUGH. AS OF TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 23, 2021 THERE WAS AN ESTIMATED 37,700 BACK ORDERS AS PER A DEALERSHIP SERVICE TECH ON THIS PART AND AS FAR AS I KNOW THIS IS JUST THE FACTORY OEM PART FROM DEALERS, IT DOESN'T INCLUDE THE AFTER MARKET PART WHICH IS ALSO UNAVAILABLE AND ON BACK ORDER EVERYWHERE! NO ONE HAS THIS PART. IT MIGHT BE AVAILABLE BY THE MIDDLE OF MARCH, MAYBE, THE DEALERS ARE UNSURE. A LOT OF WEBSITES SAY THEY HAVE IT UNTIL YOU CALL THEM OR THEY SAY T WILL BE SHIPPED IN MARCH OR APRIL, BUT WHO REALLY KNOWS THAT FOR SURE. THERE IS A LONG HISTORY OF THIS PART HAVING PROBLEMS AND THE CONSUMER HAVING TO FIX AND PAY FOR THE AUTOMAKERS BAD PART AND THAT NEEDS TO STOP! AS OF RIGHT NOW THERE ARE SOME 37,700+ THAT HAVE AN OIL LEAK AND MORE THAN LIKELY CANNOT EVEN DRIVE THE VEHICLE DUE TO THIS PROBLEM AND POSSIBLY HAVING TO RENT OR BUY ANOTHER VEHICLE TO GET TO WORK AND WHATEVER ELSE THEY NEED TO USE IT FOR WHICH IS MORE MONEY OUT OF THE CONSUMERS POCKET. RIGHT NOW I CANNOT DRIVE MY TRUCK DUE TO THIS PROBLEM AND I HAVE NO IDEA WHEN I WILL GET A PART FOR IT. GO ONLINE AND LOOK THIS PROBLEM UP AND YOU WILL FIND A LOT OF COMPLAINTS AND HOW LONG THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN HAPPENING. ATTACHED IS AN IMAGE OF THE BAD OIL COOLER/FILTER ASSEMBLY. THIS PART IS ON A LOT OF CHRYSLER/DODGE VEHICLES WITH V6 PENTASTAR ENGINES.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 RAM 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE IN A FAST FOOD DRIVE THRU, THE POWER STEERING CEASED TO OPERATE WHILE MAKING A LEFT TURN, WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT EXCESSIVE FORCE WAS NEEDED TO TURN THE STEERING WHEEL. THE CONTACT RESTARTED THE VEHICLE AND DROVE HOME WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENCE. NEITHER THE DEALER NOR THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 28,000.
2014 Dodge ram 1500. Consumer writes in regards to power steering failure. *LD THE CONSUMER STATED THE POWER STEERING FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE CONSUMER BELIEVED THE FAILURE SHOULD BE A SAFETY RECALL.
I GOT INTO MY TRUCK TO LEAVE FROM WORK. WHEN I STARTED THE ENGINE, THE "BATTERY VOLTAGE LOW" WARNING INSTANTLY CAME ON. JUST A FEW SECONDS LATER, THE "SERVICE POWER STEERING" WARNING CAME ON AS WELL. AT THIS TIME THE RADIO SHUT OFF. MY TRUCK THEN SAID: "BATTERY SAVER MODE" WAS ON, AND THE RADIO CAME BACK ON. THE POWER STEERING WAS COMPLETELY OFF/NOT WORKING, SO I WAS VERY GRATEFUL THAT I WAS SITTING IN THE PARKING LOT AND NOT DRIVING WHILE THIS HAPPENED AS IT COULD'VE CAUSED A MAJOR ACCIDENT! I LIMPED ALONG SLOWLY WITH MY FLASHERS ON, TO AN AUTOZONE TO HAVE THEM CHECK MY BATTERY. THEY WERE VERY BUSY, SO EVEN THOUGH MY BATTERY WAS LESS THAN A YEAR OLD, I SIMPLY BOUGHT A BRAND NEW ONE TO SEE IF IT FIXED THE PROBLEM WITH BOTH THE BATTERY (WHICH SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN A PROBLEM AT ALL) BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY, THE POWER STEERING FAILURE. THANKFULLY, I HAD A NEARLY STRAIGHT SHOT TO GET HOME, BUT IT WAS VERY HARD TO STEER THE TRUCK, AND I'M A BIG GUY, SO FOR THE AVERAGE PERSON, THEY WOULD HAVE MOST LIKELY HAD TO CALL A TOW TRUCK. I HAVE STARTED IT UP EVERY DAY SINCE THEN WHICH WAS 5 DAYS AGO, AND I HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO POWER STEERING AT ALL. THIS SHOULD NEVER HAPPEN ON A VEHICLE...NEVER. AND I HAD ZERO PROBLEMS WITH IT, SO WHY WOULD IT JUST FAIL FOR NO APPARENT REASON? THERE MUST BE A RECALL FOR THIS; PLEASE ADVISE. THANK YOU.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER HAD EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 140,000. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
MY TRUCK STALLED WHILE I WAS DRIVING HOME AND SUDDENLY SHUT OFF. THIS CAUSED ME TO SWERVE MISSING A CAR NEXT TO ME. I LOST DRIVABILITY BUT MANAGED TO PULL TO SHOULDER WHERE I COULD NOT RESTART MY TRUCK. I HAD IT TOWED AND PARKED IN FRONT OF MY HOUSE. THERE IS NO RECALL FIX YET. SO NOW I'M STUCK WITH NO TRUCK.

THE CONTACT PULLED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROADWAY AND HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO BAYIRD DODGE CHRYSLER JEEP RAM OF WEST MEMPHIS (1901 S. SERVICE RD, WEST MEMPHIS, AR 72301). THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS DUE THE TONER WHEEL WHICH WAS LINKED TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 20V475000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING) HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF THE FAILURE AND CONFIRMED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT UNDER RECALL. THE CONTACT HAD THE VEHICLE REPAIRED OUT OF POCKET BY THE DEALER. UPON RETURN OF THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT STATED THAT AN ABNORMAL HUMMING SOUND WAS COMING FROM THE VEHICLE WHENEVER THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THERE WAS NO WARNING LIGHT ASSOCIATED WITH THE ISSUE. DUE TO THE FAILURE, THE CONTACT HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO PETRUS AUTO SALES (2350 US HIGHWAY 63 NORTH, STUTTGART, AR 72160) WHERE THE VEHICLE REMAINED UNREPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 145,000.
The contact owns a 2014 Ram 1500. The contact stated while driving 35 MPH, the vehicle started drifting to the right into the opposite lane. The contact manually steered the vehicle to keep the vehicle centered in the lane. The contact pulled over and inspected the vehicle but found no failure with the vehicle. The vehicle was restarted and driven to the residence. The contact stated that the failure was intermittent. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic however, the mechanic was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.

The vehicle was taken to the dealer and it was confirmed that the part was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and confirmed that the part was not yet available. The contact had experienced a failure and the vehicle would go into limp mode while driving. ADDITIONALLY, THE CAMSHAFT NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE CAMSHAFT WAS RESEALED AND THE TOP STARTER AND LIFTERS WERE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 108,982.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE AT A STOP LIGHT THE VEHICLE REVVED UP AND CRASHED INTO A UNKNOWN TOYOTA. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED TO 60 MPH SIDE SWIPED A UNKNOWN SUV, CRASHED INTO A POLE AND STOPPED BETWEEN A HOUSE AND WALL THE CHECK ENGINE AND TIRE WARNING LIGHTS WERE ILLUMINATED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THERE WERE NO REPORTED INJURIES. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED AN INDEPENDENT AUTO BODY SHOP. THE LOCAL DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 109,700. THE VEHICLE WAS DEEMED A TOTAL LOSS BY THE INSURANCE COMPANY. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE. MY TRUCK CONTINUES TO LIGHT UP SAYING THAT THE FUEL CAP IS LOOSE. I BELIEVE THAT THERE WAS A FORMER RECALL ABOUT A CRACK AND ENGINE COOLANT GAS GETTING INTO THE SYSTEM, AND THIS WAS NEVER FIXED PROPERLY. ALSO, THE AIRBAG LIGHT CONTINUES TO COME ON, AND THERE WAS A FORMER RECALL ABOUT THAT AND IT WAS NEVER FIXED. THESE ARE ALL WHILE STATIONARY.
* ABS Module and Hydraulic control unit (HCU), it was not available upon request, I had to wait two years for the parts. * No break assists while driving, brake pedal would go to floor, causing me to keep pumping the breaks until I came to a complete stop. * Yes, the problem was confirmed by the dealer. * Yes, the component was inspected by the dealer. * Yes, ABS light would stay on, this first appeared at the end of 01/01/2021.
ENGINE CYLINDER MISFIRES. ENGINE BLOCK 5,6,(7,8). MANY REPORTED 170 K MILEAGE VEHICLE BROKE DOWN MIDDLE OF INTERSECTION. ALL REPLACED PARTS DID NOTHING SOLVE ISSUE. I STILL OWE $26,000 ON A 2014 - BEING TOLD TO PUT A NEW ENGINE NO REVERSAL OF SHOWN MILEAGE AFTER REPLACEMENT. NEW ENGINE $6 K USED ENGINE $5 K. I'M A SINGLE MOM STUCK TRYING TO KEEP MY CREDIT UP.
THE AIR SUSPENSION HAS NOT BEEN WORKING PROPERLY FOR WELL OVER A YEAR NOW IT INTERMITTENTLY GOES DOWN TO THE BUMP STOPS AND COULD CAUSE A SERIOUS INJURY TO PERSONS IN OTHER VEHICLES PLUS MY OWN BECAUSE ANY BUMP THAT YOUR HIT CAUSE THE TRUCK TO BOUNCED LOSING TRACTION WITH THE ROAD AND THAT EVEN MEANS WHEN SLOWING DOWN THE TRACTION CONTROL ABS BRICKS IN AND CAUSE THE WHEELS TO NOT LOCK UP ,, ALSO THE TRUCK CAN'T HOLD THE LOAD IF AND IN THE BED CUSSING UNSAFE HANDLING AROUND CORNERS AND THREW TRAFFIC

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BLACKWELL CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM (1660 W BUSINESS US HIGHWAY 60, DEXTER, MO 63841, (573) 624-8300) WHERE THE RECALL REPAIR WAS PERFORMED. THE VEHICLE REMAINED AT THE DEALER FROM 12/17/2020 TO 3/16/2021. AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS PICKED UP, WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO DEALER WHERE THE TECHNICIAN INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE CRANKSHAFT SENSOR FAILED AND THE ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED HOWEVER, THE REMEDY WAS NOT YET AVAILABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT TO TAKE THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 126,000.
WE HAVE CHANGED THE BOLTS IN OUR ENGINE MULTIPLE TIMES. WE DID IT WHILE IT WAS UNDER WARRANTY MANY TIMES AND EVEN ASK THE DEALER ABOUT A RECALL. OTHER TRUCKS THIS MAKE AND MODEL HAS HAD THE SAME ISSUE. NOW DUE TO THE BOLTS BREAKING AGAIN WE ARE HAVING TO DO MORE WORK. THIS HAS BEEN AN ISSUE SINCE WE HAVE HAD THE VEHICLE. WE LOVE OUR TRUCK BUT THINK THIS IS A DEFECT IN THE MOTOR BUILD UP. WE EVEN HAD THREE DIFFERENT MECHANICS TELL US THE SAME THING. I CAN PROVIDE PAPERWORK IF NEEDED! THIS JUST HAPPENS EVER FEW MONTHS. I CAN GO OUTSIDE WITH IT STATIONARY AND AS SOON AS I START THE TRUCK I CAN TELL IF ANOTHER BOLT HAS BROKEN.
AFTER RETURNING HOME FROM A BRIEF TRIP APPROXIMATELY 20 MI I CAME HOME, I THEN LEFT MY HOUSE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 3 MI WHEN I WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF A BUSY INTERSECTION, AS I STARTED TO GO THROUGH THE INTERSECTION MY TRUCK SUDDENLY DIED I WAS ABLE TO COAST THROUGH THE INTERSECTION, WITH NO POWER STEERING AND NO ASSISTED POWER BRAKES, USING A LOT OF FORCE I WAS ABLE TO BRING THE TRUCK TO A COMPLETE STOP, ON THE EDGE OF A BUSY ROAD WHILE I WAITED FOR HELP TO ARRIVE. I CALLED A TOW TRUCK AND HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO A LOCAL DEALERSHIP, THEY TOLD ME A PART THAT WAS CALLED A TONE WHEEL HAD FAILED. AFTER DOING A BIT OF ONLINE SEARCHING I SEE THAT THIS IS A FAIRLY COMMON PROBLEM AMONGST THESE RAM ECO-DIESELS. UPON FURTHER INVESTIGATION I FIND THAT CERTAIN ECO-DIESELS RANGING FROM 2014 TO 2018 WERE BEING RECALLED FOR THIS PART BUT MY PARTICULAR 2014 IS NOT INCLUDED THE PART IS A WHEEL THAT A SENSOR LOOKS AT AND TIMES THE FUEL SYSTEM WITH THE OTHER ENGINE COMPONENTS FOR COMBUSTION WHEN THIS SENSOR DOESN'T SEE THE WHEEL IT DOES NOT KNOW WHERE THE REST OF THE ENGINE IS IN ITS CYCLE CAUSING IT TO SHUT OFF IMMEDIATELY GIVING IT NO POWER TO PROPEL ITSELF TO A SAFE SPOT. THE RECALL W58 AS IT'S KNOWN IN FCA RAM TRUCKS SHOULD FIX THIS ISSUE WITH A SIMPLE PROGRAM CHANGE WHEREAS THE DEALER WANTS TO REPLACE THE PART WITH A EXACT REPLACEMENT WHICH WILL LIKELY HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM THE NEXT TIME WE MAY NOT BE SO LUCKY. MY FEAR IS THAT IF MY WIFE OR MY TEEN AGE SON WOULD BE DRIVING IT, THEY MAY NOT HAVE HAD THE STRENGTH TO STEER IT AND STOP IN A SAFE PLACE I BELIEVE I WAS LUCKY. AS I UNDERSTAND IT THE RECALL IS A SIMPLE PROGRAM CHANGE AND ELIMINATES THE DEFECTIVE TONE WHEEL SYSTEM IN QUESTION . I BELIEVE THE RECALL SHOULD APPLY TO MY TRUCK AND PROVES THAT THEY KNOW THAT THEY HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THIS SYSTEM.

THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19E077000 (STEERING) AS A POSSIBLE SOLUTION TO THE FAILURE HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE APPROXIMATELY 227,000.
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD WHEN SUDDENLY THE DUMMY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND MY GAS GAUGE WENT FROM FULL TO EMPTY. COMPUTER IS TELLING TRUCK THERE IS NO FUEL AND WILL NOT ALLOW ME TO ACCESS MILAGE ETC ON DASH BOARD. IV READ ONLINE THAT THIS HAS BEEN AN ON GOING ISSUE WITH THIS VEHICLE. WHY NO RECALL? AS THIS IS DANGEROUS. I CANT EVEN KEEP TRACK OF MILAGE IN ORDER TO DRIVE LONG DISTANCE. I SEE YOU HAVE TO REMOVE TRUCK BED IN ORDER TO REPLACE JUNK PARTS. $1000 COST TO THE CONSUMER. I BOUGHT THIS TRUCK USED SEVERAL YEARS AGO. THE AIR SUSPENSION ON IT FAILS RANDOMLY, ESPECIALLY IN COLD WEATHER. I JUST HAD THE AIR COMPRESSOR REPLACED IN IT AND IT FAILED AGAIN WITHIN A WEEK. IT HAPPENS MOST OFTEN WHEN STATIONARY, BUT I HAVE HAD IT FAIL ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN GOING 65-70 MPH. NORMALLY THE REAR DRIVERS SIDE FALLS TO ENTRY EXIT LEVEL AND OTHER CORNERS STAY UP, BUT I HAVE HAD SEVERAL COMBINATIONS OF FRONT AND REAR CORNERS FAIL.
I have broken bolts on my passenger side exhaust manifold. (I find to be a common problem on these trucks) I am worried of Carbon Monoxide getting into the cab of my truck on extended idle time. I can show this problem anytime. Also I can show the same problem on other trucks. There are no warning lights on other than being able to hear the exhaust leak. I have not had this truck at the dealer to look at.

WHEN I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP THEY WEREN'T AWARE OF ANY ISSUES SO I CALLED CHRYSLER AND THEY SAID THAT A RECALL WASN'T AVAILABLE FOR THE BUILD DATE OF MY TRUCK. BUT I'VE SEEN RECALLS FOR TRUCKS BEFORE AND AFTER MY TRUCK. MY TRUCK HAS BEEN PARKED FOR ABOUT 3 WEEKS BECAUSE THE REPAIR PRICE IS ABOUT $2,400 DOLLARS.
AFTER RECEIVING V08/V11 AEM UPDATE NOVEMBER 18TH, 2020 I AM EXPERIENCING AN AVERAGE OF 5-6 MPG LOSS IN FUEL ECONOMY (16.4 MPG MIXED - DOWN FROM 21.5-22 MIXED) AS WELL AS EXPERIENCE SEVERE ACCELERATION LAG. IN TERMS OF HIGHWAY MILEAGE I AM STRUGGLING TO GET 20 MPG. CURRENT ECM: 68306456AI CURRENT TCM: 68234053AH FOLLOWING THE V08 EMISSIONS RECALL, DRIVABILITY HAS BEEN SERIOUSLY REDUCED AND HAS CREATED DANGEROUS THROTTLE LAG AND IMPROPER AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION GEAR SELECTION. I WOULD SUMMARIZE THESE ISSUES AS TURBO LAG AND IMPROPER SHIFT MAPPING. WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A COMPLETE STOP THERE IS A 2-3 SECOND LAG BEFORE THE VEHICLE BEGINS TO MOVE EVEN IF THE THROTTLE IS FULLY DEPRESSED. IF YOU ARE EXECUTING A RIGHT OR LEFT TURN INTO TRAFFIC OR CROSSING AN INTERSECTION THIS WILL LEAVE YOU EXPOSED TO A "T-BONE" COLLISION. THIS BEHAVIOR IS EVEN MORE PRONOUNCED WHEN THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN RUN (COLD ENGINE). CLIMBING A MODERATE HILL SHORTLY AFTER PULLING OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY FORCES THE DRIVER TO MANUALLY DOWNSHIFT THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION TO FIRST GEAR TO GET ANY FORWARD TRAVEL. AGAIN, THE VEHICLE WILL RAPIDLY ACCELERATE AFTER THE 2-3 SECOND LAG. ONCE RETURNING TO "DRIVE" AT 15-25 MPH THE TRANSMISSION WILL UP-SHIFT SEVERAL GEARS AND THEN BEGIN SLOWING, DROPPING ENGINE RPM TO 1,000, AGAIN FORCING A MANUAL DOWN-SHIFT TO SECOND OR THIRD GEAR TO MAINTAIN SPEED. THE ENGINE PRODUCES ALMOST NO POWER UNTIL THE ENGINE REACHES 2000 RPM. ALL OF THIS BEHAVIOR BEGAN AFTER THE NOTED RECALL. I HAVE CONTACTED A RAM DEALER REGARDING THIS PERFORMANCE AND WAS TOLD THAT THIS IS A COMMON COMPLAINT. THEY MENTIONED THAT THE FACTORY WAS AWARE OF THIS BUT HAS NO REMEDY AVAILABLE."
GOT OUT OF WORK ONE MORNING 11-11-2020 TRUCK WOULD NOT START , STATED WRONG KEY FOB NOT THE PROBLEM. TOOK MULTIPLE TIMES TO TURN THE KEY TO START THE TRUCK. I CHANGED THE KEY FOB BATTERY NOT THE PROBLEM. BATTERY WAS REPLACED 1 YEAR AGO NOT THE PROBLEM. THE KEY FOB IGNITION SWITCH WAS THE PROBLEM. HAD A FRIEND OF MINE TELL ME HE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM HAPPEN TO HIM 4 MONTHS AGO. WAS AFRAID THAT IF I TURN MY TRUCK OFF IT WOULD NOT START BACK UP.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. HAD STEERING HARNESS RECALL DOWN. NOW CLOCKSPRING GONE OUT. HORN CRUISE CONTROL EVIC SCREEN FROZEN. DEALER DID RECALL REPORTS NOT COVERED.
FUEL GAUGE FAILURE. UPON RESEARCH THIS SO A VERY COMMON ISSUE. WHEN FUEL GAUGE REACHES 1/2 TANK, IT WILL FLASH EMPTY AND FUEL LEVEL LOW. ALSO FORCES CHECK ENGINEER LIGHT ON.

NEXT DAY AND EVERY DAY SINCE THIS SAME ISSUE HAPPENS BUT GETTING WORSE. I HAVE TO TURN VEHICLE OFF AND BACK ON SEVERAL TIMES TO GET STEERING TO WORK. VERY CONCERNED FOR MY SAFETY. HAVE HEARD MANY OTHERS HAVE SAME ISSUES. SHOULD BE RECALLED LIKE 2015 AND 2016 MODELS. THIS COULD CAUSE AN ACCIDENT RESULTING IN DEATH TO END OTHERS. ITS NOT HAPPENED WHEN DRIVING BUT AFRAID IT WILL.

The contact owns a 2014 Ram 1500. The contact stated while pulling out a parking space with the driver’s side door opened, the vehicle would not accelerate as needed. The contact was concerned that the transmission had seized without warning. The contact closed the door, turned off and restarted the vehicle, and the vehicle operated as needed. On another occasion while reversing into his driveway, he opened the driver’s side door to prevent the vehicle from driving over the sidewalk and the transmission seized and would not go forward or reverse. The dealer was contacted and notified of the failure. The contact was informed that the issue might be related to a possible safety feature the vehicle was equipped with. The manufacturer was not contacted or notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

MY TRUCK HAS NOW BEEN SITTING AT A DODGE DEALERSHIP FOR 2 MONTHS AND THEY ARE SAYING IT WILL BE ANOTHER MONTH UNTIL THEY MIGHT GET THE CRANKSHAFT SENSOR IN NEEDED TO FIX IT. HERE IS THE THING, DODGE IS WELL AWARE OF THE PROBLEM. A PROBLEM THAT IS SO WIDE SPREAD THEY LITERALLY DO NOT HAVE ANYMORE PARTS TO FIX IT. THEY HAVE A RECALL FOR IT FOR VEHICLES MANUFACTURED IN THE US WITH A WORK AROUND UNTIL THEY GET PARTS MADE BUT BECAUSE MY TRUCK WAS MANUFACTURED IN CANADA THEY REFUSE TO PUT MY VIN IN WITH THE RECALL SO THEY CAN USE THE WORK AROUND. I HAVE BEEN IN CONTACT WITH DODGE AND HAVE GOTTEN NO WHERE. I HAVE ANOTHER RECALL THAT HAS NOT BEEN FIXED AND THEY SAY CANNOT BE FIXED UNTIL THEY GET THE CRANKSHAFT FIXED.
