Additionally, after reversing and attempting to shift into drive(D), the transmission remained in the park(P). The vehicle was taken to a local dealer on five occasions; however, the failure could not be duplicated. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and advised the contact to file a complaint with the NHTSA Hotline. The approximate failure mileage was 100,000.
Brake assist does not work properly. Lane assist does not work. Car may stop for no reason or not stop at all. Car looses control under lane assist
Driving through mountains in the month of June and it started to rain , temperature dropped suddenly causing the windshield to frost over. I turned on the defrost and nothing happened. I could feel it blowing air out but it wasn’t clearing the windshield. We grabbed whatever we could find and tried clearing it but it didn’t seem to help. My wife had to roll down her window so we could see the edge of the road. There was heavy traffic, could have been a fatal accident, VERY SCARY. We sat there for 15 minutes to a half hour before we felt safe enough to continue. It happened again about a year later. Have takin it to the dealer 3 times (2 different places) and they stated they couldn’t do anything about it because the computer showed that there was nothing wrong. I have seen reports on this happening to other 2022 Ram 1500 trucks but mine is not included. The report stated the parts for defrost and A/C are not compatible. Very disappointing to have an $80,000 dollar truck and the defrost doesn’t work.
From the first oil change forward, I have reported an intermittent electronic problem with the display screen. The screen would fail to activate. None of the functions of the push buttons below the screen which control the widgets’ on the screen would function. The air control for heater and defroster being the main safety issue.
The contact owns a 2022 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while her son was driving approximately 70 MPH on a busy freeway, the vehicle inadvertently lost motive power. The contact indicated that the vehicle could not be restarted and was towed to the local dealer. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 5,900.
Tow haul mode causes vechical to be stuck in 3rd gear which is very dangerous on highway because of speed limit. Ram case manager clarice McDonald case 82922734 advised me to operate the vechical in all conditions without tow haul mode on. They have no fix. The owners manual states it is dangerous and can damage the vehicle if you do not use tow haul mode when carrying heavy weights. Ram is advising customers to not use a feature in the vehicle that makes towing safer and is required per the manual for heavy weights. It is very dangerous having a manufacture advising customers to tow without the use of tow haul mode. Recall required asap.
Truck stalled 4 times in 2 months going less than 5 mph. When driving slow around a turn or at a stop sign, the truck stalls when I give it gas. The emergency brake is automatically engaged and I have to disengage it before I can start the truck. The check engine light and battery light came on. I took it to the dealership (Jerry Ulm) and they could not recreate the problem or see the error codes so they gave the truck back to me. It's happened 4 times since then. Please help, I have two small children.
Driving on wet road, braking system acting strange. Slowed down, dashboard lit up, tried to get off freeway and ended up spinning into wall. Drove home 30 miles on back roads, then slowed down at intersection, dashboard lit up again, parking brake engaged, vehicle locked up, dash kept flashing, could not start vehicle or put in neutral. Dealer states there were multiple failed brake system alerts and had to reset module. Had to tow. Filed a case with FCA in June, have not had a call from case worker, been without a vehicle for almost 3 months because FCA has stated this vehicle may not be safe to drive and that I should not start collision work yet.
Truck was previously, in the Dodge Ram Dealership, in Glendale, on Brand Blvd. Within 7 days of having my truck "repaired" for SUDDEN AND ABRUPT STOP IN TRAFFIC - Check Engine Light, heater going on by itself, radio-bluetooth connection issues -it was returned with "new computer hardware" and days later June 8th leaving for work not far from my house my truck - ABRUPTY STOPPED WHILE DRIVENG IN TRAFFIC AGAIN! My "case" with customer Care has been REOPENED and my truck is still at the same dealer in service! I was told that a Dodge Durango had the same issue, and it would be looked into by the RAM engineers - The truck has now stopped in traffic twice in a matter of 7 days! I am more than concerned but FEARFUL for my safety and those that ried with me! I do mostly Freeway driving and I am TERRIFED it will STALL AND STOP on me while on the FREEWAY! PLEASE ADVISE!
After a cold start, I drove 0.5 miles to an intersection. The engine stalled, the vehicle applied the electric parking brake, and would not move. The dash indicated a shift to park was required. The shift was completed and the vehicle was restarted, but in an unsafe state. The hybrid starter/generator was not charging the battery, and service was required. I have had this truck to the dealer several times for this safety problem but they can't duplicate or fix it. I believe it is the same as 23V-265, but they have not included 2022 models.
The contact owns a 2022 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while attempting to accelerate from a stationary position, the vehicle stalled and shut off. After restarting the vehicle, the vehicle operated normally. The failure occurred on several occasions and the vehicle was taken to the local dealer who was unable to duplicate the failure or determined the cause of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 5,000.
When accelerating from a stop the vehicle hesitates and takes off very slow which could cause an accident. I’m not the only one that has complained about this defect a lot of people with the eco-diesel are having the same problem and it could cause an accident.
Was sitting at a light (auto engine shut-off was on). When the light turned green, lifted off the break to push the gas to go. Truck shut off, all lights on the dashboard lit up and truck was automatically shifted into park with emergency brake on. Attempted to restart the truck several times. Truck finally started after 8th attempt. Was able to put into drive and made it home. Truck now has check engine light on. Checked the app for an error code. Says: Powertrain Engine Malfunction on May 25th, 2022 @ 0920am. EOBD/Injection System Failure. Reading online, seems like this is a common safety error and has caused accidents by instantly throwing the vehicle into park without warning and leaving the vehicle inoperable at times.
When in tow haul mode the truck will get stuck in 3rd gear. Speed is limited to 30. Very dangerous when towing and on roads that require faster speed. Ram says the hope to fix the software issue sometime. They said do not tow. Affects all ram 1500 with etorque. Recall needed before accident.
While trying to leave for work I’ve had multiple days of a hard start or no start issue. The vehicle will attempt to start and either run rough for 2 mins while it catches up or will just shut off and not start again for a few minutes. The blower motor inside the car seems to be not functioning properly, while driving it will increase speed and then slow down, and it will do this for the length of the ride.
First Incident was power train failure while attempting to accelerate to merge into expressway traffic the vehicle suddenly revved to high RPMs and wouldn't gain speed acting like the transmission wouldn't shift out of first gear. Had to pull to the shoulder and turn off the vehicle and restart before it functioned properly. With in half an hour received an email the said I'd experienced powertrain failure. I then noticed the service engine soon light on. by the time I got to the dealer the light went out and they refused to look at the vehicle. 10 days later I started seeing warning show up on the display both in the consul and on the Uconnect system. indicating tire pressure and airbag issues. This is the second Vehicle purchase from the same manufacturer and same sale dealership to run such issues.
1. Heater randomly comes on and can’t be shut off 2.rear-brake stops truck when reversing into driveway 3. Truck made noise and suddenly stopped in traffic - eeror message “power train issue” -able to restart car engine light remained on. 4. Service dealer could not get the 12” screen to respond to his touch! 5. Apps (Waze, car play and other apps) Not working constantly The abrupt stop happened on Friday Car has been in dealer for 5 full days while I must rent a car at my expense! NO explanation NO details NO information each time I’ve called dealer and Chrysler customer care! 5/16 - 5/20 after many calls - with promise of return call NOTHING! They say it’s with the technician and he’s looking at it!
The contact owns a 2022 Ram 1500. The contact stated while driving at various speeds and depressing the brake pedal, the brake pedal gradually travelled down while vibrating, and the vehicle failed to respond as needed. The contact stated that upon depressing the brake pedal harder the vehicle responded as needed. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V653000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic, Electronic Stability Control (ESC); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 15. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
While driving down the road the battery falls rapidly from 14 to 11.8 or less causing the battery light and engine light to come on, and the unit to start losing power and die. The truck has been in the shop several times with still no repairs completed. They have given me back the unit telling me there’s nothing they can do and not sure what is causing it. The ecm data has pulled several codes, but yet the dealer still won’t repair based on those codes. I have been told sorry, there’s nothing further we can do. Mean while the truck continues to die while driving down the road which has put me and my family’s life in danger when the unit just rapidly dies and there’s no time to exit a freeway causing you to shut down the unit in the middle of the road. Hoping you can get it restarted and on your way before someone hit you. This vehicle is unsafe to drive, and has been an on going problem for 10 months now. It’s been in two separate shops and still no repairs and ram care has refused to send a tech out to assist. The unit was taken into the shop for a 3rd time with engine, battery light on while dying and I was told sorry, they don’t have time to look into it. Not it’s back in for the 4th time, and still no repairs have been made. I was told the codes that it’s pulling out the ECM data cost over $15,000 in repairs and they are not going to go that way unless they know exactly which part will fix it issue to take the truck back and they’re sorry. sorry it does not save me and my family‘s life when the unit dies in the middle of a road and someone slams into you on a freeway again. This is putting my families life at risk, which eventually will cause a fatality. Ram still has done nothing. No assistance. I am not out 80k for a unit that is not safe to drive and un tradable!
In Tow/Haul mode truck will go into “limp mode”, check engine light appears, auto start/stop disengages, truck is stuck in 3rd gear until restart occurs.
2022 RAM 1500. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARD TO VARIOUS ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS WITH VEHICLE. THE CONSUMER STATED WHILE DRIVING, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY STOPPED, PUT ITSELF IN PARK, AND ENGAGED THE PARKING BRAKE. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE OR DETERMINE THE CAUSE. THE DISPLAY SCREEN BECAME INOPERABLE. THE PHONES WOULD NOT CONNECT, THE SOUND WOULD GO OUT, APPLE CAR PLAY AND CLOCK WERE INOPERABLE.
Rear backup camera has no grid lines and is grainy/hard to see. Dealer troublshooted problem, determined radio to be defective. Ram/Stellantis refuises to replace radio due to "software malfunction" to be addressed in undisclosed update.
Leased new Dodge Ram 1500 crew cab Big Horn V6 (7 miles) on 4/11/2022. Two days later, check engine light came on and dashboard turned on like a Christmas tree. Brought to Security Dodge dealer Amityville for service. They said it was “stored code” and turned off. A couple days later MIL (Malfunction a indicator light) or check engine light came back in. Took to same dealer for 5 days to repair issue to no avail. They said it was programming issue and emphasized “Bad fuel”. One day later “MIL” came back on flashing “check engine”. Brought back to dealer again for repair (Dodge still there). This all happened from 4/11 thru today, May 10 (with approximately 280 miles). I informed salesman and service that in Dodge app it states: “PowerTrain -Engine Malfunction EOBD /injection system failure”. However, nothing has been fixed. Basically, getting run around with Chrysler Corporate and dealer that they can’t fix Check engine light and engine problems. This vehicle is not “safe” to drive in the roadway. A real lemon. Pls. Investigate this claim..this truck has been a nightmare and more importantly not safe to drive.
Radio will randomly switch sources and volume and speakers. This is very distracting and could cause an accident
Driving at slow speed after vehicle sat overnight. Truck stalled, indicating place vehicle in park before starting. I shifted to park, additional lights and errors occurred. Disabled parking brake, and was able to start vehicle after two attempts.
The contact owns a 2022 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle stalled. The vehicle independently shifted to park and would not turn off. The contact stated that after several attempts to turn the vehicle off, the vehicle turned off and the contact restarted the vehicle. The contact stated that while depressing the accelerator pedal, the vehicle failed to function as intended. The contact stated that there was a 10-15-second delay. The failure occurred several times. However, the vehicle was taken to the dealer seven times, but the failure could not be duplicated. The contact stated that the failure began after Manufacturer Recall: 901081, was completed two years ago. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 6,000.
Vehicle stalls randomly while driving and automatically applies the emergency brake. Stalling randomly and applying the emergency brake in the street/highway with traffic is dangerous and unsafe. This is our primary vehicle and the dealership has been unable to recreate the stalling. The vehicle has been to the dealership twice for the stalling but the problem is still unresolved. The stalling started randomly in March-April 2022. The dealership was notified and vehicle taken in for multiple services. Problem still not solved.
This vehicle was purchased on 03/09/3022. After the purchased I start noticing the following. The light indicator on, vehicle stopped while driving, the motor idling, the radio data compromised, the horn blowing by itself, the tire indicator constantly comes on, and the mileage rotates while vehicle is sits. I’ve taken the truck to the dealership which malware was abstracted from the vehicle; which fixed everything but, it returned remotely. Additionally, while driving on the freeway, the vehicle stopped in the middle of the freeway!

Truck shut off when i was driving it. Left me stuck in the road blocking both lanes of traffic. Emergency brake self applied. Had a hard time re starting, battery light and check engine light came on
The truck has 647 miles on it and is brand new, I just bought it from the dealer. The truck had been idling in my driveway for a few minutes before I left home, I was in my neighborhood, driving 25-30 MPH maximum. I came to a stop sign, stopped and then proceeded to turn left, which takes me down a hill. Approximately 1-2 seconds into the turn, the engine shut off completely, several lights went on the dash and the truck was proceeding downhill until at some point the brakes locked up, pushing me forward into the steering wheel. If anyone was infront of me I did not have control of the truck! The truck brakes were locked and I had to mess around starting it to get them to unlock, the battery indicator was lit and the check engine light was on. I was able to get to the truck restarted and took it to a pool parking lot area and shut it off completely. I was able to get it started again, this time the battery indicator went out and the check engine light stayed on. I have been reading online and see that many,, many people with the RAM 1500, most notably the etorque engine version are having the engine shut off with no warning, some at much higher speeds. I took it to the dealer, the "flashed" the computer, but also said the are ordering and replacing the computer which sits atop the etorque engine device. This is VERY concerning, especially because I see this has happened to others, and has been doing so for several years. I wanted to report this as to me, it seems like a Serious Safety Concern!
The contact owns a 2022 Ram 1500. The contact stated that there was a failure with the passenger’s door causing the door was not close completely. The contact stated that there was a gap between the door and the body of the truck. There was no warning light. The vehicle was diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 2,500.
Back up camera does not work and screen turns blue.
The contact owns a 2022 Ram 1500. The contact stated that after driving the truck home from the dealer he heard a whistling sound coming from the window. The contact took the vehicle back to the dealer who changed the weather seal on the window however, the issue still remained. The contact returned the vehicle to the dealer who then replaced the weather seal on the door however, the whistling continued. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The approximate failure mileage was 300.
Engine stalled, inspection available upon request. Safety issue - Took a right turn onto a road with heavy traffic then while accelerating engine stalled. I was able to coast to the breakdown lane to attempt a restart. Error message on dashboard was "Electronic Control Module malfunction" . Several restarts were attempted with no success. Shut off ignition completely with a quick press of start engine and foot not on brake pedal. Attempted another restart of engine and was successful. Check engine light remained on. This was the 1st occurrence of the problem. The vehicle has not been brought to a service center as yet .
My defrost and heat will not operate correctly. A small area of the center windshield clears and that’s it. After warming up and driving ten miles, nothing more cleared. The controls would not change and there was no heat. I could barely see to drive. This is a danger to my self and other drivers as it is snowing and iced up.
After making a left turn into a lot at a low speed, the engine shut off and e brake applied itself. I was able to restart the vehicle and disengage the e brake. Check engine light was kit, as well as the battery light. Check engine light still on.
This multifunction (split tailgate) will not close properly. I must slam it shut multiple time before it will latch properly. The dealership has tried to fix it multiple times and has been unsuccessful in doing so. They tell me I have to live with it now.
Right turn from to sign. Seems that start/stop shut off the engine. When brake was lifted the engine started and immediately stalled, e brake came on and battery warning and check engine light illuminated. I got It going again after shifting to park and releasing the parking brake and turned off start/stop. Got a weird drivetrain vibration soon after so I pulled off and turned the engine off. After I got going again it seemed to run fine but the check engine light is still lit. Two errors were thrown and appear in my Ram app: Charging System Failure EOBD/Injection System Failure
My ram was purchased in October. Since I have had it there have been multiple electrical problems. Speakers cutting in and out backup camera showing blue screen/ flickers from view to blue screen, and when these things happen it affects the way the engine runs. A few days ago I go in my truck to take off, placed truck in drive and left parking spot. 15 seconds later as I’m driving through the parking lot the emergency break engaged tried to disengage it and it wouldn’t release. Shut the truck off and back on and it disengaged. Friday morning is when I left my house for work, as I turned right from the neighborhood at the light the transmission slipped and engine just revved. Again I had to stop and shut off truck as cars were speeding towards my direction. If that has been any other morning when the intersection is busy I would have been in a pretty horrible accident thinking I would be able to take off as normal.
I was pulling our from a stop sign to make a left turn when all of a sudden the engine shut down, emergency brake engaged and all engine power was lost. I would have been struck by cross traffic had there been any as I did not have the ability to maneuver the vehicle. The vehicle was able to be restarted and disengage the emergency brake but the engine light remains on.
The contact owns a 2022 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while driving at 42 MPH, the vehicle lost motive power and shut off. The driver pulled over safely and shifted into park(P), but the vehicle was difficult to restart. Several unknown warning lights were illuminated after the failure. On another occasion, while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle shut off and was difficult to restart. While driving at an undisclosed speed, the sun visor detached from the mount and fell, obscuring the view while driving. Additionally, the rear window seal was cracked, and water was leaking in several spots into the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer on three separate occasions, who was unable to determine the cause of the failure, and the failure recurred. The vehicle was partially diagnosed, and the contact was informed that the window was not covered. The visor was repaired under the warranty. The manufacturer was contacted and extended the warranty coverage. The failure mileage was approximately 9,000.
Have nicks on all 4 door latches on vehicle. Took vehicle to Bettenhausen Chrysler in Tinley Park, where I purchased, and they turned me over to corporate. After 3 months of no answer from corporate case closed and Chrysler not paying for repairs. I have checked with dealers In Illinois, Missouri, and Colorado. They all had multiple vehicles with same problem. After numerous attempts to contact anyone at dealership finnaly got a call from Mr Bettenhausen. Mr Bettenhausen stated he had same damage on his personal vehicle and door latches were faulty and ended conversation with me. Vehicle has not been inspected by anyone other then Bettenhausen Chrysler dodge. I feel if door latches are faulty it puts me and anyone else who is on roads as well.
While rolling to a stop and turning (3) times and once while slowing for speed bumps my 2022 Dodge Rebel 5.7L V8 Hemi with E-Torque shut off, the emergency brake applied itself and it shifted itself to park. This happened while turning onto a busy street where a bad accident could have happened because of it. There were no warning or indicators prior to the truck shutting off by itself. It has been to the dealership twice with no fix. I have had it for three weeks.
4 ISSUES. #1 STEREO SCREEN SAYS OVER HEATING SHUTTING DOWN #2 RADIO SCREEN TURNS BLUE SAYS SCREEN OVERHEATING SHUTTING DOWN. SERIUS RADIO KEEPS REMOVING FROM RADIO. #3 WHEN BRAKING THE CAR WILL THRUST FORWARD AS IN A PUSH, PUSHING YOU HARD INTO THE CAR STOPPED AHEAD OF YOU. THE HARDER THE BRAKING THE HARDER THE THRUST/PUSH. (THIS IS A MAGER SAFETY CONCERN) ITS NOT IF YOU GET INTO A ACCIDENT IT IS WHEN. THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE 2022 RAM 1500 BRAKING(EITHER TRANSMISSION OR POWER TRAIN) BUT IT IS BAD I ALMOST GOT INTO SEVERAL REAR END COLLISIONS DUE TO THE DODGES THRUST WHEN BRAKING. I SPOKE TO SOMEONE ELSE THAT ACTUALLY WORKS AT THE DODGE DEALERSHIP AND OWNS A 2022 DODGE REAM AND HE STATED HIS DODGE RAM HAS THE SAME ISSUE WITH THE FORCEFUL THRUST WHEN BREAKING. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE. #4 ELECTRICAL.
The contact owns a 2022 Ram 1500. The contact stated that the defroster system failed to operate as needed. Due to the failure, visibility was difficult while driving in cold weather. The vehicle was taken to a dealer and the defroster system was repaired; however, the failure persisted. The contact also stated that the windshield was replaced on three separate occasions by an independent mechanic, but the failure persisted. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 100.
