My car will not reverse when put into reverse. No symptoms prior or any warning signs. Car will roll backwards as if in neutral and the engine will rev to high rpm. Engine codes P0792 and P0736 are present after issue arised. I have found another safety recall that describes my issue exactly with regards to 2019-2021 Ram Promasters. My car 2014 Ram Promaster has the same power train as what is listed in the safety recall [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
2014 ram ProMaster traveling at approximately 10 miles an hour customer states felt like it ran over Boulder vehicle then was towed to shop upon inspection. I found a transmission mount on the driver side completely disconnected. All bolts removed must have vibrate out huge safety issue caused damage to heater hoses CV axles transmission, oil pan and shifter cable along with ground strap.
I was mailed a recall notice from the manufacture a while back and was going to need to get the work completed in order to renew my CA registration. A smog cert was also needed for the renewal. I took my vehicle to McPeeks Dodge/Ram for the recall on 10/24/24. On 11/21/24 I went to get my vehicle smog checked. The smog station said that I had passed the emissions portion, but some of the monitors were still in the "not ready" state, and he could not pass the vehicle until all monitors were ready. He said that it was likely related to the recall work that was done at the dealership. I then contacted the dealership's service dept and they said that the vehicle needed to be driven a certain amount and a certain way, and for approximately $700.00 they could have one of their technicians drive it, to get it out of its current state, but they could not guarantee that it would get fixed, so I declined their offer. They explained that it needed to be driven a certain way and that it was "pretty easy", so I drove it exactly how they explained it, several times and it is still in its "not ready" state. Frustrated, since the dealership never explained this to me before the recall work was done, I reached out to Ram, but they would never return my call. After about 3 weeks of almost daily calls, I spoke to a person (who would not reveal their name of position with the company) and they said that because of the year of the vehicle and because I did not want the dealership to "attempt" to fix it, that they couldn't help me with this. Sorry, but I refuse to give my money to fix a manufacture's recall issue. This is my work vehicle that allows me to provide for my family. Please assist me in resolving this issue or please refer me to somebody that can. Thank You.
The contact owns a 2014 Ram Promaster 1500. The contact stated that water was leaking from the roof into the cabin of the vehicle and engine compartment, causing several electrical failures. The contact stated that the vehicle would only drive in LIMP Mode. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the oil pressure sensor, transmission sensor, torque converter pressure sensor, and hydraulic pressure sensors were faulty. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer and local dealer were not yet contacted regarding the failure. The failure mileage was 61,600.
The compounder drum in the transmission exploded on me, while driving, nearly causing me to wreck. The 62TE transmission used in many vehicles, but specifically the ram pro master master 2014 to 2021. there is a recall for the compounded drum that I am aware of at least in the 2019, but for some reason my van the 2014 with the same exact transmission does not fall under that recall.

The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23T002000 (Tires) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was contacted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and a case was opened; however, no further assistance was provided. The tires were replacement tires purchased at Walmart. The contact had not experienced a failure.
My 2014 Ram Promaster 2500 experienced a cooling fan seizure overheat that almost resulted in a fire similar to recall VB2 / NHTSA 19V-818 which ONLY applies effects to 2015-2018 models. But clearly this same issue happened to me as the plastic shroud smoked and melted and would've started a fire if I hadn't noticed it starting up in the driveway. Please investigate further and I hope this report saves 2014 owners from significant damage like mine had occur.
Stalls when braking and when backing. Fuel pump continues to run with engine off.

The vehicle would resume normal operation upon restart. The dealer was notified about the failure, and he was informed that the vehicle was not under recall. The dealer offered further assistance. The contact owns a 2014 Ram Promaster 3500. The contact stated while driving at slow speeds, the front-end locked up. The contact noticed that the gear shifter was in reverse. The engine was in the undercarriage. The vehicle was towed to the contact's residence. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified, and an engineer inspected the vehicle however, declined to provide a service report. The approximate failure mileage was 125,000.
The contact owns a 2014 Ram 1500 Promaster. The contact stated that the oil cooler filter failed and caused coolant to mix with the engine oil. The vehicle was taken to an unknown dealer but was not repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted or notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 118,000.
WAS DRIVING DOWN A NEIGHBORHOOD STREET AND STOPPED TO BACK INTO A DRIVEWAY WHEN I PUT THE VEHICLE IN REVERSE THE TRANSMISSION HOUSING BRACKET THAT HAS FOUR BOLTS HOLDING THE ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION BROKE OFF. LEAVING MY TRANSMISSION JUST INCHES FROM THE GROUND. THIS IS NOT SUPPOSED TO HAPPEN. THERE IS NO DESIGN TO CATCH OR HOLD THE TRANSMISSION IN ITS PLACE. I AM VERY BLESSED THAT THIS HAPPENED IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD AND NOT ON THE HIGHWAY, THERE COULD'VE BEEN QUITE A BIT OF DAMAGE TO MY VEHICLE AND POSSIBLY OTHERS.
MY PASSENGER SIDE MIRROR IS BEING FOLDED IN BY THE WIND AT 60 MILES PER HOUR. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AS THIS IS A CARGO VAN AND THERE ARE NO WINDOWS TO SEE IF ANYONE IS BESIDE ME. I CANNOT CHANGE LANES SAFELY WITHOUT THAT MIRROR WORKING PROPERLY. I BELIEVE THE ISSUE IS WITH THE MOTOR THAT FOLDS THE WINDOW IN MALFUNCTIONING. I HAVE OWNED THREE SEPARATE RAM PROMASTERS AND THIS IS THE THIRD VEHICLE THIS HAS HAPPENED. THIS IS EXTREMELY UNSAFE AND SHOULD BE RECALLED ASAP.
ON JANUARY 23, 2020 RAM ISSUED A RECALL FOR A FAULTY TRANSMISSION SHIFTER CABLE FOR THE PROMASTER. AS OF TODAY, NEARLY 6 MONTHS LATER, THE PARTS ARE STILL NOT AVAILABLE TO FIX THE ISSUE. REPEATED CALLS TO THE DEALERSHIP HAS INDICATED THIS IS A NATIONWIDE PROBLEM AND THEY SAID IT WOULD LIKELY BE SEVERAL MORE MONTHS AT THE EARLIEST BEFORE THEY HAVE THE PARTS IN STOCK. THE MOPAR RECALL WEBSITE INDICATES PARTS ARE AVAILABLE BUT THIS IS CLEARLY NOT TRUE. WHAT IS THE POINT OF HAVING A SAFETY RECALL IF IT'S NOT POSSIBLE TO FIX IT? *TR
HEAD LAMPS BULBS CONTINOUSLY SUDDENLY BURN OUT. SAFETY ISSUE, AS DRIVING DURING DARK HOURS, AND SUDDENLY HAVE NO HEAD LIGHTS. HAVE REPLACED THEM 6 TIMES IN 4 MONTHS. ANOTHER OWNER OF SAME VEHICLE APPROACHED US AND ASK IF WE HAD PROBLEMS WITH HEAD LIGHTS. HE REPLIED HE HAS REPLACED HIS EIGHTEEN TIMES ALREADY.
MY 2014 RAM PROMASTER TRAVATO WITH 38923 MILES WAS LEAKING POWER STEERING FLUID FROM 2 HOSES THAT GO FROM POWER STEERING UNIT TO AN OIL COOLER IN FRONT OF THE RADIATOR. THIS SEEMED LIKE AN UNUSUALLY SHORT PERIOD OF TIME/MILES TO EXPERIENCE THIS SORT OF FAILURE AND POSSIBLY A DANGEROUS SITUATION, INVOLVING OF A LOSS OF POWER STEERING, SITUATION. THIS WAS CAUGHT BY SEEING POWER STEERING FLUID ON PAVEMENT WHEN BACKING VEHICLE. REPAIR COST WAS $854.39 ON 12/12/2019.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 RAM PROMASTER. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE SHIFTED INTO NEUTRAL INDEPENDENTLY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE "SHIFT TO NEUTRAL AND BACK TO DRIVE" WARNING MESSAGE ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE CHECK ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO COAST OFF THE ROADWAY. ON SOME OCCASIONS, SHIFTING THE VEHICLE INTO NEUTRAL AND BACK INTO DRIVE FAILED TO REMEDY THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO ROBERT LOEHR CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM SRT AND FIAT (567 E MAIN ST, CARTERSVILLE, GA 30121, (770) 382-5885) TO BE DIAGNOSED, BUT THE MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE OR RETRIEVE A FAULT CODE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: 68044969. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 99,999.
ISSUES WITH OUR 2014 PROMASTER STARTED IN 2016. INSERTED KEY TO START IT AND IT WOULDN'T START. KEY WAS LOCKED IN IGNITION. TOWED TO DODGE SERVICE CENTER AND THEY HAD IT 3WKS. THEY REPLACED MANY PARTS INCLUDING PCM BOARD, SHIFTER ASSEMBLY, AND MANY OTHERS. THE SAME ISSUE HAPPENED IN 2017 AND TWICE IN 2018. DIFFERENT SERVICE MEASURES WERE TAKEN. TODAY I WAS GETTING GAS AT SPEEDWAY, JUMPED BACK INTO VEHICLE AND THE ENTIRE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM WAS DEAD! HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED. SINCE THE DODGE DEALERSHIP COULDN'T FIX IT THE OTHER 4 TIMES, I HAD IT TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT. I'M HOPING THEY CAN RESOLVE THIS SERIOUS ISSUE. WE'RE A NON-PROFIT AND CAN ILL-AFFORD TO RUN OUT AND GET ANOTHER TRUCK. I SEE MANY, MANY COMPLAINTS CONCERNING 2014 ELECTRICAL ISSUES. WHY HASN'T THIS VEHICLE BEEN RECALLED? BY THE WAY, WE HAVE LESS THAN 5,000 MILES ON THIS TRUCK SINCE IT'S USED SPARINGLY.

THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT ALL THE WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE VEHICLE CRASHED INTO THE REAR OF ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT WAS UNAWARE OF ANY INJURIES SUSTAINED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS HAVING ELECTRICAL FAILURES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO GREENWAY DODGE CHRYSLER JEEP RAM (9051 E COLONIAL DR, ORLANDO, FL 32817, (407) 347-4929) WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 86,000.
MR. [XXX] (DRIVER) WAS DRIVING A DODGE PRO VAN DOWNHILL, AND PRESSED ON THE BRAKE PEDAL. THE PEDAL SNAPPED OFF. MR. [XXX] IMPACTED THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF HIM, AND HIT THE STEERING WHEEL WITH HIS FACE, THE AIRBAG DEPLOYING SHORTLY AFTERWARDS, PUSHING HIS FACE BACKWARDS. HE RECEIVED FACIAL RECONSTRUCTIVE SURGERY AND IS TREATING FOR CLOSED HEAD INJURY AND POSSIBLE TBI. DEALER NEGLECTED TO INSTALL V RESERVOIR CAP BACK ON TO THE VEHICLE , OVER SHORT PERIOD OF TIME WATER RUNOFF FROM THE RAIN ENTERED THE RESERVOIR AND CONTAMINATED AND THE POWER STEERING SYSTEM FAILED VEHICLE WAS BROUGHT BACK INTO THE DEALERSHIP, DEALERSHIP CLAIMED TO HAVE CORRECTED THE PROBLEM WITH A SYSTEM FLUSH AND FILL LESS THAN 1000 MILES AFTER THAT REPAIR POWER STEERING FAILED AGAIN WITH THE COMPLETE FAILURE OF TURNING LEFT ON ABLE TO TURN LEFT AT ALL I WAS ON A JOB ABOUT 3 MILES FROM THE HOUSE WHEN I GOT INTO THE TRUCK TO GO HOME I WAS ABLE TO TURN RIGHT WITHOUT THE POWER STEERING HUT UNABLE TO TURN LEFT. STEERING ONLY WOULD TURN LEFT ABOUT A QUARTER TURN ,!FORTUNATELY THESE WERE BACK ROADS AND I WAS ABLE TO TAKE THREE ATTEMPTS TO COMPLETE EACH LEFT TURN VEHICLE BROUGHT BACK TO DEALER FOR WHAT I HOPED WAS A WARRANTY REPAIR THE POWER STEERING PUMP IS LEAKING THEY QUOTED TO REPLACE THE POWER STEERING PUMP HOWEVER I DON'T TRUST THEM BECAUSE THEY'VE ALREADY HAD TWO CHANCES TO REPAIR IT AND HAVE NOT I BROUGHT IT TO A THIRD-PARTY FOR REPAIR AND IT HAS BEEN DETERMINED THE VEHICLE NEEDS A POWER STEERING PUMP AND A RACK ( RACK HAS INTERNAL DAMAGE )AND PINION FOR A COST OF $3500 I BELIEVE THE DAMAGE WAS CAUSED BY THE DEALERSHIP BY REINSTALLING THE FILLER CAP AND ALLOWING WATER INTO THE STEERING SYSTEM. THE SERVICE MANAGER AT THE DEALER TOLD ME WATER DAMAGE THE COMPONENTS IN THAT FASHION AND I ASKED HIM WHY DON'T WE JUST USE WATER THEN INSTEAD OF POWER STEERING FLUID VEHICLE ONLY HAS 72,000 MILES ON IT , EVEN KNOW ALL THIS HAS OCCURRED IN LESS THAN 1000 MILES IT'S BEEN AN ONGOING PROBLEM SINCE AUGUST 2018 UNTIL TODAY MAY 2019 I QUIT DRIVING THE TRUCK BECAUSE I HAVE TRUST ISSUES WITH THE STEERING
I HAVE A ECODIESEL PROMASTER WICH DOESN'T HAVE A PARKING ON THE TRANSMISSION AND HAVE TO USE HAND BRAKE EVERY TIME I PARK WICH GETS STUCK IN WINTER TIME AND MAKES THE ROTORS AND PADS ON REAR TO GET WORN OUT REALLY QUICKLY WICH COSTS A LOT TO REPLACE SINCE THEY'RE NOT COVERED BY WARRANTY BAD DESIGN OF TRANSMISSION WITHOUT PARKING OPTION COSTS USER LOTS OF MONEY
THE DIESEL VERSION OF THIS VEHICLE HAS NO PARK GEAR. YOUR ONLY OPTION WHEN PARKING THE VEHICLE IS TO USE THE EMERGENCY BREAK AND LEAVE IN NEUTRAL. IF LEFT IN D GEAR THE VEHICLE WILL NOT STAY STATIONARY. YOU MUST USE EMERGENCY BRAKE. I'VE OWNED THIS VAN FOR 3 YEARS AND THE PARKING BRAKE CABLE FREEZES WHEN TEMPS ARE LOW. IT'S HAPPENED ON 3 SEPARATE OCCASIONS. THE FIRST AT 50,000MILES NEXT AT 205,000 AND THEN TODAY AT 220,000 MILES. WHEN THIS HAPPENS THE ENTIRE REAR BRAKE SYSTEM INCLUDING WHEEL BEARING AND SENSORS GETS SHREDDED. EACH TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED IT'S COSTS $1500 TO FIX, ITS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS BECAUSE EVERY TIME IT LOCKS UP WE ARE ON THE ROAD AND THE ENTIRE SYSTEM LOCKS UP. IT STARTS WITH A SQUEAL AND EVENTUALLY THE WHEEL LOCKS COMPLETELY. IT'S A HORRIBLE DESIGN FLAW AND IT'S GOING TO GET SOMEONE HURT IN MORE THEN JUST THEIR WALLET.
TRANSMISSION PUMP FAILURE AT 78K MILES. THE TRANSMISSION IS A TOTAL LOSS . I WAS TOLD FCA HAS A 2K "CORE CHARGE" FOR THE TRANSMISSION, THEY KNOW SOMETHING IS WRONG
VEHICLE STATIONERY -WATER LEAKS INTO THE DOME LIGHTS, THEN THE RADIO STOPPED WORKING. THEN THE MILEAGE BEGAN FLASHING ON THE DASH BOARD, NEXT DAY HEATER MODULE STOPPED WORKING. TOOK TO THE DEALER WHO TELLS ME THERE IS NO RECALL ON THIS YET HAVE CHATTED ONLINE WITH OTHER OWNER WHO HAVE ALL HAD THE SAME PROBLEM.
DPF DIESEL PARTICULATE FILTER CODE PROBLEM FOR 3 TIMES AND THEY DON'T KNOW HOW TO FIXED
I WAS PARKED IN A LOT WITH THE ENGINE RUNNING AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON (SOLID, NOT FLASHING SO I ASSUMED IT WAS OK TO DRIVE). AFTER I STARTED MOVING A BIT, THE TEMPERATURE GAUGE RED-LINED. I PARKED AND LET IT COOL OFF. WHEN I STARTED DRIVING AGAIN, THE CEL WAS ON BUT THE TEMP WAS NORMAL AND STAYED NORMAL UNTIL I REVERSED INTO MY DRIVEWAY...AT WHICH POINT THE GAUGE REDLINED AGAIN AND THE PRESSURE RELEASE ON THE COOLANT TANK TRIPPED AND COOLANT STARTED SHOOTING EVERYWHERE. I TOOK IT INTO THE DEALER AND THEY CONFIRMED THAT IT WAS A FAN CONTROL MODULE THAT NEEDS REPLACEMENT. OF COURSE THE MODULE IS ON INDEFINITE BACKORDER FROM THEIR WAREHOUSE. THEY SAID THEY CAN GET ONE FROM O'REILLY BUT I WOULD HAVE TO PAY THE DIFFERENCE MYSELF WHICH WAS ABOUT $200. AFTER READING REPORTS ONLINE, IT APPEARS THAT THIS IS A COMMON FAILURE ON RAM PROMASTERS WITH NO RESOLUTION OR RECALL. REPORTS INDICATE THAT THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF VEHICLES WAITING ON THIS PART.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 RAM PROMASTER. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED WITH THE PARKING BRAKE ENGAGED, IT ROLLED AWAY. AS A RESULT, THE VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A REAR END COLLISION. THERE WERE NO INJURIES AND A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A COLLISION SHOP WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE PARKING BRAKE MALFUNCTIONED AND THE BRAKE ASSEMBLY WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS FOR THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 100,000.
WHEN WE DROVE 2014 RAM PROMASTER OFF THE LOT THE "CHECK BACK DOOR" LIGHT WAS ON AND BACK DOOR WOULD NOT LATCH PROPERLY. DEALER ORDERED NEW LATCH AND REPLACED IT TWICE, BUT DOOR STILL DOES NOT ALWAYS LATCH. AT APPROXIMATELY 15K MILES, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WENT ON AND 2014 RAM PROMASTER WENT INTO LIMP MODE. TOOK TO DEALER (TATE CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE, 5629 BUCKEYSTOWN PIKE, FREDERICK, MD), WHERE THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR WAS REPLACED, BUT THIS DID NOT FIX PROBLEM. CONTINUED TO HAVE PROBLEM WITH ENGINE LIGHT/LIMP MODE. WHILE IN LIMP MODE, RPMS DID NOT DROP BELOW 1500, MAKING STOPPING AND CONTROL OF VEHICLE DIFFICULT, AND VEHICLE WOULD NOT TRAVEL ABOVE 45 MPH, MAKING HIGHWAY TRAVEL DANGEROUS. THE SECOND TIME WE TOOK IT TO THE DEALER, THEY REPLACED THE MAIN COMPUTER/PCM, BUT SERVICE MANAGER ADVISED US, "I WOULDN'T TAKE THIS VAN ON LONG TRIPS", AS HE STILL WASN'T SURE THEY FIXED THE PROBLEM, OR THAT IT WAS SAFE TO DRIVE. AT APPROXIMATELY 16K MILES, WE HEARD A LOUD NOISE IN THE ENGINE, TOOK VAN BACK TO DEALER (TATE CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE OF FREDERICK, MD), AND WERE TOLD THAT IT HAD A BROKEN FLY WHEEL. AFTER REPAIR, SEAT BELT AND BATTERY LIGHTS REMAINED ON. DEALER REPLACED INSTRUMENT CLUSTER. AT 18K MILES, WE HEARD A NOISE IN THE ENGINE, DEALER INDICATES THAT IDLER PULLEY HAS FAILED. FOR EACH OF THESE REPAIRS, DEALER HAS KEPT VAN FOR 2-3 WEEKS. DEALER ADVISED US AGAIN NOT TO DRIVE VEHICLE ON "LONG TRIPS", BUT TO STAY LOCAL. THEY DID NOT ADVISE AS TO WHEN THE VEHICLE MAY BE SAFE TO DRIVE NORMALLY.

I TOLD THEM I HAVE BEEN RESEARCHING THIS PROBLEM ON THE INTERNET AND THERE HAVE BEED MANY COMPLAINTS, NOT JUST WITH THE 1500 BUT ALSO THE 2500. THE SUSPENSION NOISE IS SO BAD WHEN I AM ON BLUETOOTH PHONE THE PERSON I AM TALKING WITH CAN ALSO HEAR THIS. THIS NEEDS TO BE RECALLED FOR SAFETY REASONS AS WELL. IT KEEPS GETTING WORSE. IT SOUNDS LIKE THE REAR END IS GOING TO FALL APART. BY THE WAY IT DOESN'T MATTER THE SPEED YOU ARE DRIVING.

THEY WANT TO REPLACE EVERY SENSOR/PART THAT CAME UP IN CODES, AND WE DID PAY TO HAVE 2 REPLACED AND IT'S STILL OCCURRING. WE THINK IT'S A VOLTAGE /GROUND ISSUE BUT SERVICE DEPARTMENTS ACT LIKE THEY DON'T WANT TO HEAR THAT. WE HAD TO COAST OFF AND MERGE BACK ON I 85 BY ATLANTA, GA 6 TIMES JUST ABOUT GETTING RUN OVER BY HEAVY TRAFFIC. WE HAVE CALLED FCA AND THEY OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THERE WAS A WIRING HARNESS RECALL FOR PROMASTERS IN 2014 BUT THEY SAY OUR VEHICLE ISN'T ON LIST. WE HAVE LOST $10,000 REVENUE FOR DECEMBER AND ARE OUT ABOUT $1800 FOR PARTS WE DIDN'T NEED. NONE OF THE RAM BUSINESS LINK SERVICE DEPT. KNOW HOW TO FIX VEHICLE. WE CALLED RAM COMPLAINT LINE AND THEY OFFERED NO ADVICE. THIS PROBLEM PUTS OURSELVES AND OTHER DRIVERS IN A DANGEROUS SITUATION WHEN WE HAVE TO COAST OFF INTERSTATE OR PULL OFF HIGHWAYS WITH NO SHOULDERS OR IN CONSTRUCTION ZONES.

IN MOTION, VEHICLE TRANSMISSION WOULD NOT SHIFT TO HIGHER GEAR. SPEED FOR MERGING ONTO 45MPH ROAD WAS LIMITED TO 25 OR 30. VEHICLE HAS ONLY 12,000 MILES ON IT. DEALER HAS ATTEMPTED REPAIR BY REBUILDING TRANSMISSION BUT WHEN VEHICLE WAS TEST DRIVEN PROBLEM REMAINED.

NEXT TIME I BROUGHT IT INTO THE DEALER, THEY SAID DUST CREATES SQUEAKS. AS I CONTINUED TO DRIVE IT THE SOUND INCREASED IN VOLUME. NOW, AT 23,000 MILES, THE BRAKES ARE VERY LOUD PIERCING AND SCREACHING. NOW DEALER SAYS NOTHING THEY CAN DO...I AM OUT OF WARRANTY. BRAKES DO NOT SQUEAK WHEN COOL, BUT WITHING 20 MINUTES THEY GET VERY LOUD WHEN HOT.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 48,000.
SPARE TIRE WILL NOT CRANK ALL THE WAY UP AND SHOW THE YELLOW DOT PER INSTRUCTIONS. THE CRANK STARTS TO SLIP THE LAST 1" . WITHOUT TIRE ON THE SPARE TIRE CABLE THE YELLOW DOT DOES APPEAR AND THE CRANK COMES TO A DEAD STOP. THIS VEHICLE WAS PARKED ON LEVEL GROUND AND SEVERAL ATTEMPTS HAVE BEEN MADE TO NO AVAIL.

THE VAN WOULD JUMP OUT OF 6TH GEAR WHILE DRIVING, IT WOULD REQUIRE A RESTART TO RESET THE VAN SO IT WOULD GO INTO GEAR AGAIN. THIS VAN IS AN AUTOMATED/MANUAL TRANSMISSION A RESTART REQUIRES THAT THE BRAKE PEDAL IS DEPRESSED WHILE STARTING. THIS SITUATION REQUIRED THAT I MANAGE TO GET OFF TO THE SHOULDER OF THE ROAD SO NOT TO BE IN HARMS WAY. IT WAS A CHALLENGE TO GET OFF THE ROADWAY, THERE WAS NO WARNING OF WHEN THE TRANSMISSION WOULD JUMP OUT OF GEAR. I TOOK THE VAN IN FOR REPAIR AND SOME CLUTCH PARTS WERE REPLACED; THAT DID NOT STOP THE JUMP OUT OF GEAR PROBLEM. NOW IT WOULD STILL JUMP OUT OF 6TH GEAR, BUT SHIFTING TO NEUTRAL THEN BACK TO GEAR THE VAN WOULD GO AGAIN. IT DID NOT NEED A RESTART TO KEEP MOVING BUT STILL VERY DANGEROUS TO JUMP OUT OF GEAR ON A HIGHWAY IN TRAFFIC. I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALER SEVERAL TIMES IN WHICH THEY WOULD KEEP IT A WEEK OR 2 ONLY TO TELL ME THERE WERE NO CODES AND THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE MY PROBLEM. FINALLY REVERSE GEAR BROKE, INSTEAD OF REPLACING THE TRANSMISSION THE DEALER REBUILT MINE WITH NEW REVERSE GEARS. IT MADE NO IMPROVEMENT TO MY JUMP OUT OF 6TH GEAR PROBLEM. I TOOK IT TO ANOTHER DEALER THAT COULD NOT FIND MY PROBLEM; I EVEN TOOK THE SERVICE MANAGER FOR A RIDE IN WHICH IT JUMPED OUT OF GEAR 2 TIMES. HE SAID TO TAKE IT ELSEWHERE AS HE COULD NOT FIX IT. IT BROKE DOWN LATER THAT NIGHT AND WOULD NOT GO BACK INTO GEAR OR EVEN RESTART; IT WAS TOWED TO ANOTHER DEALER. THEY MADE IT START, REPLACED $1847 WORTH OF PARTS THAT MADE NO CHANGE ON THE JUMP OUT OF GEAR PROBLEM. THE FACTORY TECH CAME TO THAT SHOP AND SAID TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION. THAT DEALER REFUSED TO DO THAT UNDER WARRANTY. THE VAN IS NOW BACK AT THE DEALER THAT REBUILT THE TRANS, THEY STATE TRANS IS FINE IT MUST BE SOMETHING ELECTRIC. THESE PROBLEMS START DEC 2015, VAN HAS BEEN COMPLETELY OUT OF SERVICE SINCE MAY 2016. THIS IS FEB 2017
THERE IS A DEFECT IN THE ENGINE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM THAT KEEPS BURNING PARTS OUT LIKE LIGHT BULBS, ENGINE COIL PACKS, & DASH COMPONENTS. THE SUSPENSION IN THE REAR SQUEEKS SO BADLY THAT YOU HAVE TO WEAR EAR PLUGS TO DRIVE IT. THE ENGINE SMELLS OF ANTIFREEZE LEAKING ALL THE TIME AND THE BREAKS SQUEAL AND GRIND... EVER SINCE WE BROUGHT THIS VEHICLE ROUGHLY A YEAR AGO, IT WAS SENT BACK FOR SERVICE 8 TIMES WITH NO SIGNIFICANT IMPROVEMENT. THERE ARE POTENTIALLY FATAL ISSUES INCLUDING: THE AIR BAG LIGHTS ARE ALWAYS ON, TURN SIGNALS FUNCTION ON AND OFF PERIODICALLY, THE PLATE LIGHTS DON'T WORK EVEN UPON BULB REPLACEMENT, ELECTRICAL FAILURE WHICH LED TO A BULB MELTING (SEE PHOTO ATTACHED) . THESE ISSUES POSE SERIOUS AND POTENTIALLY FATAL RISKS TO OUR DRIVERS AND TO THE PUBLIC. THE DEALERS HAVE FAILED TO PERMANENTLY RECTIFY THESE ISSUES.

THIS VAN IS A DIESEL VAN WITH AND AUTOMATIC MANUAL TRANSMISSION AND HAS NO PARK FOR THE TRANSMISSION SO THE ONLY PARKING SYSTEM IS THE HAND BRAKE. YOU CANNOT SHUT OF THE VAN AND PUT IT IN GEAR TO STOP IT AS IT WILL STILL ROLL, THIS IS IMPORTANT TO UNDERSTAND THAT THE ONLY WAY TO KEEP THIS VEHICLE FROM ROLLING IS THE HAND BRAKE. WHEN THE TEMPERATURE OUTSIDE FIRST DROPPED BELOW 30 DEGREES THE PARKING BRAKE WHEN SET WILL NOT RELEASE. THIS IS NOT ALL BECAUSE NOW THE PARKING BRAKE WILL LOCK UP WHEN YOU TRY TO BACK UP EVEN WHEN NOT ENGAGED AND WILL NOT KEEP THE VAN FROM ROLLING EVEN ON A MINOR SLOPE. NOW THE BRAKE DOES NOT WORK AT ALL EVEN WHEN THE WEATHER IS WARM AND IT HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP 3 TIMES AND THEY CANT FIX IT. THIS IN ITSELF IS DANGEROUS BUT I BELIEVE THAT IT IS A MAJOR ISSUE THAT THIS VEHICLE HAS NO WAY TO STOP IT FROM ROLLING WHEN THE PARKING BRAKE FAILS UNLIKE A TYPICAL MANUAL TRANSMISSION WHERE YOU CAN AT LEAST SHUT OFF THE ENGINE AND PUT THE TRANSMISSION IN GEAR TO KEEP IT FROM ROLLING.
