Defect Description
Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2023 Transit vehicles. The fuel tank grade vent valve may not be properly welded to the fuel tank shell, which can result in a fuel leak.
Safety Consequence
A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source increases the risk of a fire.
Remedy
Dealers will replace the fuel tank, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed March 28, 2023. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 23S04.
