Defect Description
Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2024 Transit vehicles. The front gross axle weight rating may be labeled incorrectly on the vehicle B-pillar label and the owner's manual label, which can result in an overloaded vehicle.
Safety Consequence
An overloaded vehicle may result in steering knuckle failure and a loss of steering control, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy
Dealers will replace the labels, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed September 23, 2024. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 24S53.
