TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 SATURN AURA. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS OR WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED, THE DOOR LOCKS WOULD LOCK AND UNLOCK INDEPENDENTLY. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. UPON EXITING THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT WOULD MANUALLY LOCK ALL THE DOORS. UPON RETURNING, THE DOORS WOULD BE UNLOCKED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC OR DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING OR REPAIRS. JAMES MARTIN CHEVROLET (6250 WOODWARD AVE, DETROIT, MI 48202 (313) 875-0500) WAS CONTACTED AND STATED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS FOR THE DOORS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
MY CAR HAS 106,000 MILES, AND ENGINE IS BAD, ALWAYS TOOK GREAT CARE OF MY CAR, AND HAD OIL CHANGES ON TIME ETC. WHY IS THERE NOT RECALLS WHEN THERE IS SO MANY ISSSUES WITH THERE ENGINES?
POWER STEERING LEAKS, NOISY STEERING/ GRINDING SOUND... SAW A RECALL ONLINE FOR THE POWER STEERING DATED FOR 2014 HOWEVER I NEVER RECEIVED A NOTICE FOR THAT I JUST BOUGHT THIS CAR 3 MONTHS AGO.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 SATURN AURA. WHEN ATTEMPTING TO START THE VEHICLE, IT FAILED TO START AND HAD TO BE JUMPSTARTED EVERY TIME. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT, DUE TO A FAULT IN THE WIRING HARNESS, THE RADIO WAS UNABLE TO SHUT OFF AND DRAINED THE BATTERY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. A DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND ADVISED THE CONTACT TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO A DEALER. THE CONTACT WAS PROVIDED THE NUMBER TO NHTSA. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 154,000.
THE FIRST SIGN OF PROBLEMS WAS WHILE DRIVING THE AUTOMATIC LOCKS STARTED LOCKING AND UNLOCKING THEMSELVES. THIS WOULD HAPPEN OFF AND ON WITH IT LOCKING AND UNLOCKING VERY QUICKLY AND REPEATEDLY, CEASING AND THEN STARTING IT AGAIN FORAPPROXIMATELY 2 OR 3 DAYS. THEN IT WOULD STOP ALL TOGETHER FOR 3 OR 4 DAYS MAYBE A WEEK AND THEN REPEAT THE SAME PATTERN. I ALSO NOTICED A COUPLE OF TIMES WHILE MY CAR WAS PARKED IN MY DRIVEWAY THE BRAKE LIGHTS WOULD BE ON. I'M NOT SURE IF THEY WENT OFF WHEN I PARKED MY CAR AND GOT OUT FOR THE DAY OR IF THEY JUST SUDDENLY CAME ON WHILE MY CAR WAS PARKED. I ONLY NOTICED THIS AROUND 3 OR 4 TIMES. THE MAIN EVENT WHICH BRINGS ME HERE IS I WAS DRIVING DOING AROUND 30 MILES PER HOUR ON A SIDE ROAD WHEN SUDDENLY I COULD NOT CONTROL MY STEERING EASILY. AROUND THE SAME TIME OR SECONDS AFTER MY DASH LIGHTS STARTED GOING CRAZY AND ALL OF THEM FLICKERING OFF AND ON. I IMMEDIATELY STARTED TO BRAKE MY VEHICLE TO COME TO A STOP BECAUSE IT SCARED ME. I WAS SECONDS FROM MY DESTINATION AND MY HUSBAND WAS WITH ME AND WE DECIDED VERY SLOWLY MAKE IT TO THE BANK PARKING LOT. AS I TURNED MY CAR STARTED ACTING AS IF IT WAS JUST FAILING TO RUN. MY HUSBAND SAYS THIS WAS THE TRANSMISSION. AS I TURNED AND STARTED TO BRAKE TO A STOP MY BRAKES DID NOT WORK AS THEY NORMALLY DID. ONCE STOPPED MY CAR DIED AND WOULD NOT TURN OVER. WE THOUGHT THE BATTERY DIED. WE THEN GOT A JUMP AND THE CAR DIED AGAIN THIS TIME NOT STARTING BACK AT ALL.
MY TRUNK BUTTON ONLY WORKS ON OCCASIONS AND 2 OF MY DOOR WON'T LOCK OR UNLOCK IF IT'S HOT OUTSIDE. IF IT'S COLD ALL MY DOORS WORK. IT'S CRAZY! I HAVE TO WALK AROUND MY CAR LOCKING ALL MY DOORS. ALTHOUGH LOCKED OR NOT THE ALARM WILL GO OFF. I HAVE HAD TO CHANGE MY WATER PUMP 2 TIMES IN THIS CAR. I TOOK IT IN FOR BRAKES & THEY'RE SAYING IT NEEDS TO BE CHANGED AGAIN! THERE'S NO WAY I SHOULD BE DOING THIS. THE WATER PUMP WAS CHANGED TWICE BY AN ACTUAL DEALERSHIP. THIS CAR HAS SERIOUS ISSUES ESPECIALLY IN THE HEAT!
WHILE PARKING MY SATURN ANY PARKING SPOT I ATTEMPTED TO PUT CAR IN REVERSE AND THE CLIP BROKE FOR THE TRANSMISSION IN THE CAR CONTINUE ROLLING AND LEFT THE CAR IN OPERABLE AND I NOTICED OTHER RECALLS ON THE TRANSMISSION FOR THE SAME DESCRIPTION REGARDING THE TRANSMISSION I BELIEVE THAT MY VEN SHOULD BE ADDED TO THE RECALL REGARDING THE TRANSMISSION HAVING ISSUES AT THIS POINT WE ARE HAVING DIFFICULTY FINDING A REPLACEMENT CLIP FOR THE TRANSMISSION WIRE WHICH OPERATES FROM PARK TO DRIVE TO NEUTRAL.
ON THE GROUND I WOULD SEE SMALL AMOUNTS OF OIL. I TOOK IT TO GET AN OIL CHANGE AND THE MECHANIC SAW AND SHOWED ME WHERE THE OIL WAS COMING FROM. I WAS TOLD THAT I HAVE A VALVE LEAK FROM THE ENGINE AND SHOWED ME. I ONLY HAVE 73,879 MILES ON THE CAR AND FEEL THIS SHOULD NOT BE A PROBLEM. I ONLY USE THE CAR TO GO ABOUT 8 HRS OF DRIVING A WEEK. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF THERE HAS BEEN A RECALL FOR THE ENGINE? I HAVE A NOISE IN THE STEERING WHEEL THAT MAKES ME FEEL VERY UNCOMFORTABLE AND I HEAR IT EVERY TIME I BACK THE CAR UP. THE VEHICLE WILL NOT SHIFT INTO GEARS PROPERLY. WHEN THE GEAR IS PLACED IN PARK, THE VEHICLE WILL ROLL IN REVERSE, AND, TRYING TO PLACE IT IN DRIVE TAKES ABOUT 5 TO 10 MINUTES. ONCE ITS IN DRIVE SLOT, THE VEHICLE WILL NOT NOT GO FORWARD.

IN ADDITION, THE STEERING WHEEL SHOOK PRIOR TO THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS SERVICED PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14E044000 (STEERING), BUT THE REMEDY FAILED TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 SATURN AURA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS A SUDDEN LOSS OF POWER STEERING WHILE DRIVING. THE STEERING WHEEL WAS EXTREMELY TIGHT AND THE CONTACT HAD TO COAST THE VEHICLE OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE EPS WARNING INDICATOR FLASHED SHORTLY AFTER THE FAILURE OCCURRED. THE CONTACT TURNED OFF AND RESTARTED THE VEHICLE ON MORE THAN ONE OCCASION BECAUSE THE POWER STEERING FAILED WHILE IN DRIVE; HOWEVER, IT FUNCTIONED WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBERS: 14E044000 (STEERING) AND 14V153000 (STEERING). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
I RECEIVED THE RECALL FOR THE POWER STEERING PROBLEM BACK IN 2014. I HAD THE WORK DONE ON THE POWER STEERING PER THE RECALL PARAMETERS. HOWEVER, THE POWER STEERING IS NOW HAVING PROBLEMS?: IT SEEMS WHEN THE OUTSIDE TEMP IS AROUND THE 40 DEGREE AND BELOW MARK, THAT THE POWER STEERING WON'T OPERATE? I GO TO TURN THE CAR ON, THE CAR COMES TO LIFE, AND THE "POWER STEERING" WARNING LIGHTS UP ON THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER? THE WHEEL IS 'DEAD-IN-MY-HANDS AS WELL? AFTER TURNING THE IGNITION OFF THEN BACK ON SEVERAL TIMES WILL IT THEN ACTIVATE THE POWER STEERING? BUT, NOT ALWAYS THE CASE. SO FAR, ONCE IT COMES TO LIFE, THE STEERING HAS NOT GONE OUT. WHEN I INQUIRED OF THE WARRANTY, APPARENTLY, PER THE RECALL DETAILS, THE PART(S) ARE ONLY WARRANTED FOR A YEAR AND ITS BEEN APPROX. A YEAR AND A HALF SINCE THE WORK WAS DONE. VERY FRUSTRATED AND VERY CONCERNED THAT THE POWER STEERING MAY GO OUT WHILE DRIVING. ESPECIALLY CONCERNED FOR OTHER DRIVERS AND OCCUPANTS OF THIS VEHICLE!! WHILE EXAMINING UNDER THE HOOD, THE DRIVER DISCOVERED THAT THE SHIFT CABLE HAD DETACHED. THE CONTACT MANUALLY READJUSTED THE SHIFT CABLE TO CORRECT THE FAILURE. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 86,000.
WHILE DRIVING DOWN A BUSY ROAD AND SLOWING DOWN MY VEHICLE AS THE LIGHT TURNED FROM YELLOW TO RED, MY STEERING WHEEL INSTANTLY FROZE. THE INDICATOR SCREEN IN MY CAR READ: POWER STEERING. IT BECAME INSTANTLY IMPOSSIBLE FOR ME TO TURN MY STEERING WHEEL. I PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND PUT MY HAZARD LIGHTS ON. I TURNED OFF MY MOTOR AND STARTED MY ENGINE AGAIN AND MY STEERING WHEEL WAS BACK TO ITS NORMAL WAY OF USAGE.

THIS IS A REPEAT PROBLEM FOR A MALFUNCTION THAT WAS REPAIRED BY A DEALER UNDER RECALL # 13036. THE BRAKE LIGHTS ARE NOT WORKING PROPERLY. THEY ARE ON (LIT) WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL IS NOT DEPRESSED. WHEN THE DRIVER PRESSES ON THE BRAKE PEDAL, THE BRAKE LIGHTS GO OFF (DARK). THIS IS AN OBVIOUS SAFETY ISSUE AND CONTINUES TO OCCUR DESPITE A PREVIOUS RECALL REPAIR.

THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS SERVICED PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V224000 (POWER TRAIN), BUT THE REMEDY FAILED TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING, BUT THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DETERMINED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE CRUISE CONTROL IN MY 2008 SATURN AURA IS NOT FUNCTIONING. SERVICE ESC AND TRACTION CONTROL LIGHTS FLASH ON THE DASHBOARD INTERMITTENTLY. BRAKES LIGHTS ARE ON CONSTANTLY, EVEN WHEN THE BRAKE IS NOT APPLIED. I TOOK MY CAR TO A SATURN-APPROVED CHEVY DEALER FOR SERVICE AND REFERENCED THE NHTSA RECALL #14V252000 FROM 2014. THE MECHANICS CHECKED THE SCAN DATA AND FOUND THE BRAKE PEDAL LEARNED POSITION DATA WAS ERRACTIC IN THE BODY CONTROL MODULE AND WON'T HOLD THE SETTINGS. THEY CHECKED THE CIRCUITS AND CONNECTIONS (AND SUPPOSEDLY REPERFORMED THE 2014 RECALL REPAIR) BUT CONCLUDED THAT THE FAULT IS IN THE BCM. THEY SUGGESTED REPLACING THE BCM, AT A COST OF $600. I EXPLAINED TO THE MECHANIC THAT I BELIEVE THE FAILING BCM IS DUE TO THE VOLTAGE FLUCTUATIONS THAT PROMPTED THE RECALL, LEFT THE DEALERSHIP, AND CALLED GM. A SENIOR ADVISOR AT GM EXPLAINED THAT THEY WILL NOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT THE APPARENT SAFETY DEFECT BECAUSE THE RECALL DID NOT REQUIRE REPLACEMENT OF THE BCM.
THE EXTERIOR BRAKE LIGHTS COME ON WHEN NOT TOUCHED AND GO OFF WHEN THE BRAKE IS APPLIED. I CALL GM AND THEY TOLD ME MY VIN NUMBER WAS NOT ON A RECALL, BUT IT SEEMS THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THIS PROBLEM.

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE SHIFT CABLE FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBERS: 14V224000 AND 12V460000 (POWER TRAIN); HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 129,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 SATURN AURA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE STATIONARY, THE TRANSMISSION SHIFT CABLE FAILED CAUSING THE VEHICLE NOT TO BE ABLE TO SWITCH GEARS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN UNKNOWN LOCATION WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION CABLE FRACTURED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 56,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A CHEVROLET DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION CABLE FRACTURED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE VIN WAS EXCLUDED FROM NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V224000 (POWER TRAIN). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 56,000.

THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THERE WERE LOOSE SCREWS IN THE GEAR SHIFT. ONCE THE MECHANIC TIGHTENED THE SCREWS, THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER WHERE SHE WAS INFORMED THAT REPAIRS COULD NOT BE MADE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS UNSAFE TO DRIVE AND THE GEARS WERE GETTING JAMMED ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 108,000.

IN ADDITION, WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE AND THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 130,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS PLACED IN PARK AND WOULD NOT SHIFT OUT OF THE PARK POSITION. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION SHIFT CABLE FRACTURED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY REPAIRED UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V224000 (POWER TRAIN), BUT THE REMEDY FAILED TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE SHIFT CABLE FRACTURED PRIOR TO THE RECALL REPAIR AND AFTER THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 170,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
RECALL OCT 2014 FOR BODY CONTROL MODULE BCM WAS FIXED BY DEALER (REEDMAN TOLL, LANGHORN, PA). ABOUT 3 WEEKS AGO MY CAR STARTED DOING THE SAME THING. BRAKE LIGHTS GO ON FOR NO REASON (EVEN IF THE CAR IS PARKED WITH NO ONE IN IT); TOUCH BREAK PEDAL LIGHTLY AND BRAKE LIGHTS GO OUT; TOUCH HARDER AND THEY COME BACK ON. RIDING DOWN ROAD MESSAGE IS DISPLAYED ON DASH "SERVICE TRACTION" THEN "ESC OFF". THIS IS EXACTLY HOW IT WORKED BEFORE THE RECALL. IT DOES THIS MOST DAYS BUT NOT ALL. SOMETIMES THE BRAKES LIGHTS WORK CORRECTLY. SOMETIMES WHEN DRIVING WITH THE PROBLEM, THE PROBLEM SEEMS TO CORRECT ITSELF AFTER A WHILE AND THEN COMES BACK (ON THE SAME TRIP). CALLED SAME DEALER AND THEY SAID THEY CAN ONLY FIX A RECALL ONCE AND THAT I WOULD HAVE TO PAY TO HAVE IT FIXED AGAIN. I RIDE THE PA TURNPIKE EVERYDAY AND HAVE NOTICE SEVERAL GM CARS THAT HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. SEEMS TO ME THEY PUT A BAND AID ON IT AND NEVER FIXED IT PROPERLY. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE FOR THE PEOPLE BEHIND ME SINCE THEY NEVER KNOW WHEN MY BRAKES ARE ON OR OFF.
I RECENTLY BOUGHT MY DAD'S 2008 SATURN AURA. ALMOST IMMEDIATELY I NOTICED THAT MY BRAKE LIGHTS WOULD GO ON WITHOUT ME PRESSING THE PEDAL AND THAT AT TIMES MY BRAKE LIGHT WOULD NOT GO ON WHEN I WAS PRESSING ON THE PEDAL. I DID SOME RESEARCH AND FOUND THAT THE CARS HAD BEEN RECALLED (14V252000) IN 2014 FOR THIS ISSUE. MY DAD HAD BROUGHT THE CAR IN IN OCT 2014 FOR THIS RECALL AND IT WAS SUPPOSEDLY FIXED. THE DEALER HAS SAID THEY CANNOT HELP ME AS THE RECALL IS NOT UNDER WARRANTY. I AM NOW GOING TO HAVE TO PAY HUNDREDS TO FIX SOMETHING THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN FIXED YEARS AGO. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE!
WHILE DRIVING THE CAR AT ALL SPEEDS, THE CAR JUMPS IN AND OUT OF GEARS WHILE IN DRIVE. I HAVE A 30 MILE DRIVE TO WORK, AND ON AVERAGE THIS HAPPENS 8 TIMES. I HAVE HAD MY CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP NUMEROUS TIMES SINCE I PURCHASED THE CAR NEW IN 2008. EACH TIME THEY TAKE IT FOR A TEST DRIVE, AND THEN TELL ME THAT THEY CANNOT REPRODUCE THE SITUATION. YET I TAKE THE CAR HOME, AND NOT A MILE DOWN THE ROAD, IT WILL HAPPEN TO ME. I NOW HAVE JUST 60,000 MILES ON THE CAR, AND I'M HOPING THAT I WON'T HAVE TO PURCHASE A NEW TRANSMISSION AFTER NUMEROUS TRIP TO THE DEALERSHIPS. WHILE IT WAS UNDER WARRANTY.
AL OF THE SUDDEN THE POWER STEERING WARNING LIGHT WENT ON APRIL 8 WHEN I STARTED TO WORK. THERE WAS NO PROBLEM ON THE WAY TO WORK, WHEN I WAS DRIVING HOME, THE LIGHT WENT ON AGAIN AND I COULD NOT CONTROL THE STEERING FOR SEVERAL MINUTES. I PULLED OVER FOR A MINUTE UNTIL I GOT HOME. I SPOKE WITH MY HUBBY WHO SAID I SHOULD CALL THE DEALER. WE PROCEEDED TO CHECK THE INTERNET FOR ANY OTHER PROBLEMS THAT HAD BEEN REPORTED TO FIND THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM. I AM NOW AFRAID TO DRIVE THE CAR BECAUSE THE STEERING WENT OUT OF CONTROL AND I COULD NOT. I TREASURE MY LIFE. I BOUGHT THIS CAR USED 2 YEARS AGO AND HAD PROBLEMS IN TURNING-A CLICKING WHEN I TURNED RIGHT OR LEFT-THIS WAS SUPPOSEDLY FIXED BY THE GARAGE. CAN THIS BE FIXED--THAT IS THE POWER STEERING PROBLEM AND PAID FOR BY THE DEALER? OH I WAS ON AN INTERCITY STREET GOING STRAIGHT. CAN THE DEALER BUY THE CAR BACK FROM ME OR PAY FOR THE REPAIRS? AS I MENTIONED, I AM NOW AFRAID TO DRIVE THE CAR. SHOULD I TAKE IT INTO THE DEALER OR GARAGE OR WAIT TO TALK WITH YOU?

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 19,000. THE VIN WAS INVALID. UPDATED 06/29/16*LJ THE CONSUMER STATED THE FUEL RETURN LINE AT THE FUEL PUMP BROKE, DUE TO BAD PLASTIC. FUEL BEGAN LEAKING ON THE TANK AND THE EXHAUST. THE FUEL PUMP WAS REPLACED. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 SATURN AURA. WHILE ACCELERATING FROM A STOP LIGHT, THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTED ABNORMALLY. THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT SHIFT INTO THIRD, FIFTH, AND SIXTH GEARS NOR REVERSE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION MALFUNCTIONED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED.THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 52,000.
FRONT DRIVERS DOOR AND FRONT PASSENGERS DOOR WILL NOT UNLOCK IN ANY WAY, THE DOOR WILL NOT OPEN FROM THE INSIDE HANDLE OR OUTSIDE HANDLES. THE MANUAL LOCK CAN BE TOGGLED, THE KEY FOB MOVES THE LOCKS IT UP DOWN AND THE ELECTRONIC UNLOCK BUTTON INSIDE WORKS BUT THE DOORS WON'T OPEN. YOU HAVE TO CLIMB INTO THE BACK OF THE CAR AND OUT THE REAR DOORS. I SEE THIS IS A VERY POPULAR ISSUE ON CAR FORUMS AND WONDER IF IT SHOULD BE A RECALL AND GM SHOULD BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE.
WHILE DRIVING, THE DOOR LOCKS ENGAGE AND DISENGAGE REPEATEDLY. THE KEY FOB DOESN'T WORK AT ALL, THE DOORS HAVE TO BE MANUALLY LOCKED / UNLOCKED .HOWEVER THEY WILL UNLOCK / LOCK ON THEIR OWN WHILE SITTING IN THE DRIVEWAY.
THE4 STEERING WHEEL DOESN'T LOCK AND OCCASIONALLY THE KEY GETS STUCK IN THE IGNITION WHEN YOU TURN IT OFF
TAKATA RECALL POWER LOCKS CONTINUOUSLY LOCKING AND UNLOCKING, WHETHER THE CAR IS IN MOTION OR STATIONARY. HAD INSTANCE WHERE DOOR WOULD NOT UNLOCK ON DRIVERS SIDE FROM OUTSIDE OR INSIDE. EXTREME SAFETY HAZARD.

DEALER REPLACED STEERING SHAFT THIS TIME, COST WAS ABOUT $423.00 I SEE THAT THIS HAS BEEN A PROBLEM WITH THIS VEHICLE AND THERE WAS A RECALL BUT SAFECAR.GOV WEBSITE DID NOT SHOW RECALL FOR MY VIN NUMBER

STARTED CAR AND BEGAN ADJUSTING SEAT. CAR WAS STILL IN PARK. HEARD A LOUD "POP" AND THEN THE DRIVER'S SEAT TILTED UP AND I WAS LEFT IN AN AWKWARD POSITION. TRIED TO MOVE SEAT AGAIN, SEAT JERKED AND WOULDN'T NOT ADJUST TO PROPER POSITION. TOOK CAR TO DEALER AND THEY SAID THE WELD ON THE FRAME BROKE. DRIVER'S SEAT NOW SLIDES AROUND WHEN YOU'RE SITTING IN IT, INCLUDING DURING DRIVING. FOUND OUT I WAS ONLY ONE OF DOZENS WITH SIMILAR ISSUE.

AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC DIAGNOSED THAT THE DTC INDICATED A FAILURE WITH THE TRANSMISSION MODULE. THE CONTACT REPLACED THE MODULE, BUT THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBERS: 14V224000 (POWER TRAIN) AND 12V460000 (POWER TRAIN); HOWEVER, THE CONTACT EXPERIENCED THE SAME FAILURES RELATED TO THE RECALLS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES TO DETERMINE IF THEY COULD PROVIDE A SOLUTION. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 12,000.
SATURN AURA 2008 TAIL LAMP MALFUNCTION. I BROUGHT THE VEHICLE TO TUSTIN GM FOR BRAKE REPAIR AND BRAKE LIGHT REPAIR. I WAS TOLD IT WAS THE BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH, I WASN'T TOLD ANYTHING ABOUT A RECALL. 2 WEEKS AGO, I NOTICED MY TRACTION CONTROL, ESC AND PANIC BRAKE ASSISTANCE WERE NOT WORKING ALONG WITH CRUISE CONTROL AND A FEW OTHER FEATURES. IT OCCURRED RANDOMLY AFTER AT LEAST AN HOUR OF DRIVING. I NOTICED AFTER A FEW TIMES THIS OCCURRED MY BRAKE LIGHTS WOULD ILLUMINATE WHILE I WAS IN PARK WITH THE HEADLIGHTS OFF. I TESTED IT, AND THEY INDEED TURNED OFF WHEN I ENGAGED MY BRAKES, ONLY TO ILLUMINATE AGAIN WHEN I DISENGAGED MY BRAKES. I WAS VERY NERVOUS DRIVING IT HOME AND HAD A FEW CLOSE CALLS ON THE CITY STREET STOPPING AT STOP LIGHTS. I BROUGHT THIS BACK TO TUSTIN GM'S ATTENTION AND THEY TOLD ME IT'S BEEN CORRECTED AND IT'S NOW MY RESPONSIBILITY TO PAY FOR THE CHARGES OF FIXING IT. I REFUSED AND BROUGHT IT TO ORANGE COAST BUICK GMC AND CADILLAC. THEY WERE UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE ISSUE AND REFUSED TO BELIEVE THAT IT HAD ANYTHING TO DO WITH THE RECALL, WOULDN'T EVEN CHECK. I MADE A CASE WITH THE MANUFACTURER AND THEY SAID MY ONLY OPTION IS TO DRIVE THE UNSAFE VEHICLE UNTIL THE PROBLEM OCCURS AND THEN BRING IT INTO A DEALER SO THEY CAN FIND OUT THE ISSUE. THEY CLAIM MY PROBLEM DOES NOT CORRELATE WITH THE RECALL IN ANY WAY SHAPE OR FORM, AND HAVE DONE EVERYTHING SHORT OF CALLING ME A LIAR. I NOW HAVE A RENTAL VEHICLE BECAUSE I AM DEPENDED ON BY MY ELDERS TO BRING THEM TO AND FROM APPOINTMENTS. I NEED MY VEHICLE FIXED, PROPERLY, AND HOPEFULLY SOME TYPE OF COST ASSISTANCE WITH THE RENTAL VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER ALSO CAN'T SEEM TO TELL ME THE EXACT DATE THE RECALL WAS REMEDIED. WHILE PASSING ANOTHER CAR TO MERGE ONTO AN OFF RAMP, I ACCELERATED AND THEN LET UP ON THE GAS PEDAL AS I EXITED. IMMEDIATELY THE ENGINE STARTED MAKING A LOUD TICKING NOISE WHICH CONTINUED AS I DROVE HOME ON SURFACES STREETS. UPON STARTING THE CAR THE NEXT DAY I HEARD A LIGHT KNOCKING NOISE. I DROVE TO THE CHEVY DEALER AND THE KNOCK GOT LOUDER. THEY ADVISED TEARING THE ENGINE DOWN FOR $1,000 TO DETERMINE THE ISSUE. THEY SAID THERE WAS METAL IN THE OIL. I BELIEVE MY ISSUES ARE THE SAME AS MANY 3.6LTR VVT ENGINE OWNERS, THE TIMING CHAINS AND SUPPORTS FOR THEM. THE NOISE IS PERSISTENT AND VARIES IN TONE. I HAD BARELY 50,000 MILES ON IT AND HAVE KEPT THE OIL CHANGES REGULAR, I EVEN HAD MOBILE 1 SYNTHETIC PUT IN ITS LAST OIL CHANGE. I AM EXTREMELY FRUSTRATED AS THIS WAS MY FIRST AMERICAN MADE NEW CAR PURCHASE AND THERE WERE ONLY EIGHT MONTHS AFTER IT WAS PAID OFF WHEN THIS FAILURE OCCURED. I AM A USAF VET AND RETIRED FROM A CITY JOB OF 30 YEARS. AFTER SPENDING $32,000 ON THIS CAR, I EXPECTED SO MUCH MORE.

AFTER SHUTTING THE ENGINE OFF AND BACK ON, THE VEHICLE OPERATED NORMALLY; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED TWO WEEKS LATER. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE EPS SENSOR INSIDE THE STEERING COLUMN FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 91,000.
THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON IN OCTOBER SAYING REPLACE ENGINE & REPLACE TIMING CHAIN, THE MECHANIC REPLACED ACTUATORS HOPING THIS WILL ELIMINATE THE ERROR INDICATOR LIGHTS, IT DID NOT. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN JANUARY 6TH, 2016 WITH THE SAME CODES: REPLACE ENGINE, REPLACE TIMING CHAIN. THIS CAR HAS 76,000 MILES ON IT AND SHOULD NOT HAVE THIS PROBLEM. I CALLED GM CASE #8-1761877745 THEY DENIED MY CLAIM AND REFUSED TO HELP. THE CAR IS SITTING, NOT BEING DRIVEN. I'M VERY UPSET. I NEED HELP.
