THE CAR WAS DRIVEN TO CHEVROLET AND REPAIRS WERE DONE BUT CAR WOULD NOT START , WE WERE TOLD IT HAD A BAD COMPUTOR AND WAS GIVEN THE OPTION TO PURCHASE A 1600 DOLLAR UNIT FROM CHEVROLET , WE DID NOT HAVE THE FUNDS. WE GOT A COMPUTOR AFTER THE TOLD US THIS WAS NOT A RELATED ISSUE. THEN TOWED IT BACK FOR A THIRD TO TO BE TO ITS NOT UNDER WARRANTY. WE DONT HAVE MONEY FOR AN ATTORNEY AND CHEVROLET AND SATURN REFUSES TO CORRECT THERE SREW UP. WE DROVE THE VEHICAL IN AND THEY WANT US TO TO PULL IT OUT WE DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO.
TURNED THE KEY TO THE ON POSITION, DASH LIGHTS COME ON BUT NOTHING HAPPENS, THE CAR WILL NOT TURN OVER. TRIED TO REMOVE THE KEY BUT IT IS STUCK IN ACC POSITION. ALL RECALLS HAVE BEEN DONE TO MY KNOWLEDGE. AFTER READING OTHER REVIEWS WITH SIMILAR PROBLEMS I AM NOW CONCERNED WITH IT TURNING ITSELF OFF ON IT'S OWN.
THE CAR WAS FUELED UP, WHEN IT WAS BEING STARTED IT HAD GREAT DIFFICULTY. ONCE IT WAS RUNNING, IT WAS DRIVEN AND A RIGHT TURN WAS MADE, THEN ALL GAUGES DIED. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, THE AIRBAG LIGHT AND THE "PWR STR" MASSAGE REMAINED ON. THE CAR WAS PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND TURNED THE IGNITION SWITCH TO THE OFF POSITION THE THREE INDICATORS REMAINED ON AND THE CAR REFUSED FOR ABOUT TWO MINUTES BEFORE TURNING OFF.

WHILE DRIVING 10 MPH AND ATTEMPTING TO DEPRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL, THE VEHICLE INDEPENDENTLY ACCELERATED AND CRASHED INTO A BUILDING AND THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED AND THERE WERE NO INJURIES REPORTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 35,000.
POWER STEERING COMPLETELY FAILED WHILE CAR WAS MOVING. NO WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 SATURN ION. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, THE GEAR SHIFT FAILED TO SWITCH INTO THE REVERSE POSITION WITHOUT WARNING.THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. ON ANOTHER OCCASION, THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THERE WAS A FUEL ODOR EMITTING FROM THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL LINE WAS RUSTED AND THE FUEL PUMP NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 92,000.
CASE # 8-1587665159 - 2005 SATURN ION ... I CANNOT GET ANY HELP WITH THIS VEHICLE AND I HAVE GONE THROUGH ALL THE CHANNELS. THE CAR DEALERSHIP STATED THE IGNITION AND POWER STEERING MOTOR WAS REPLACED,YET, I HAVE RECEIVED NO PAPERWORK STATING THIS WAS DONE. IGNITION WAS REPLACED. IF THE POWER STEERING MOTOR WAS REPLACED, IT WENT OUT AGAIN WHILE I WAS OUT OF TOWN, HAD A GARAGE REPLACE IT ALONG WITH THE MODULE BUT IT ALSO WENT OUT. TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP AS PAPERWORK FROM GM STATED I SHOULD DO BUT THEY WOULDN'T HONOR IT BECAUSE IT WAS A USED PART. PREVIOUSLY, THE GAS LINES HAD TO BE REPLACED AS ONE COULD SMELL GAS EVERYWHERE AROUND THE VEHICLE. I HAVE BEEN TOLD BY A GM REP THAT THE CAR IS OLDER WITH A LOT OF MILEAGE AND PROBLEMS WILL HAPPEN BUT GM OFFICIALS KNEW ABOUT SOME OF THESE ISSUES WHEN THE CAR FIRST CAME OUT ... THEY DID NOTHING FOR 10 YEARS. THE POWER STEERING CONSTANTLY GOES OUT, SOMETIMES WITHOUT A WARNING OR SOMETIMES WITH CHIMES. I AM A 68-YEAR-OLD HEART PATIENT THAT HAS TO DRIVE A VEHICLE KNOWING AT ANY MOMENT THE POWER STEERING WILL GO OUT AND I COULD CRASH, YET, GM STATES PULL THE CAR OFF THE ROAD, TURN IT OFF AND BACK ON AND IT SHOULD BE OKAY. THIS IS NOT TRUE. I AM NOT ABLE TO STEER THIS VEHICLE WITH MANUAL TRANSMISSION EVEN THOUGH GM STATES, STEERING CONTROL CAN BE MAINTAINED, AS THE VEHICLE WILL REVERT TO A MANUAL STEERING MODE, BUT WOULD REQUIRE GREATER DRIVER EFFORT AT LOW VEHICLE SPEEDS, WHICH COULD RESULT IN AN INCREASED RISK OF A CRASH. " I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE LAST YEAR AND HAD NO CLUE ABOUT THE RECALLS. OR PERHAPS GM HAD NOT ADMITTED TO THEM YET. I HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO DRIVE THIS VEHICLE AS IS AS IT IS THE ONLY MODE OF TRANSPORTATION THAT I HAVE.

THE CONTACT SUSTAINED HEAD INJURIES THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBERS: 14V171000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM) AND 14V153000 (STEERING); HOWEVER, THE PARTS TO DO THE REPAIR WERE UNAVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNAVAILABLE.
AFTER OWNING THIS CAR FOR A FEW YEARS NOW AND BECOMING HIGHLY INVOLVED IN THE FORUMS. I'VE LEARNED THAT IT'S A COMMON ISSUE FOR THE CLOCK SPRING TO BREAK. WHEN IT DOES, IT CUTS POWER PERMANENTLY TO THE DRIVER AIR BAG, AND CRUISE CONTROL UNTIL REPAIRED. THIS IS A BIG SAFETY CONCERN AS NO POWER TO THE AIRBAG WOULD RESULT IN MORE SERIOUS INJURY OR POSSIBLY DEATH. *TR
ENGINE WOULD NOT DE-ACCELERATE AND HITTING THE BRAKES DID NOT STOP THE VEHICLE. I WAS PASSING CARS ON A HIGHWAY,AND I COULD NOT GET THE ENGINE TO DOWN SHIFT. IT FELT LIKE IT WAS IN CRUISE CONTROL, AND IT WAS NOT. I HIT THE CRUISE CONTROL BUTTON TO MAKE SURE I HAD NOT HIT IT BY MISTAKE. I HAD NOT. I DOWN SHIFTED INTO LOW GEAR THAT DID NOT STOP THE ENGINE FROM RACING. I PUT IT IN NEUTRAL THAT DIDN'T HELP. I MANAGED NOT TO HIT ANY CARS. I PUT THE CAR IN A SNOW BANK NEAR A GUARD RAIL. THERE WAS NO CRASH BECAUSE I MIRACULOUSLY KEPT THE CAR UNDER MY CONTROL AND THE SNOW/ICE KEPT ME FROM HITTING THE GUARD RAIL. (I FELT LIKE I WAS GLIDING.) AT SOME POINT WHEN I WAS IN THE SNOW BANK, I HEARD THE ENGINE FINALLY KICK ITSELF DOWN. I CALLED THE LOCAL POLICE FOR A TOW TO MY DEALERSHIP. THE DEALERSHIP TRIED TO BLAME ME, BUT I TOLD THEM IT WAS MECHANICAL FAILURE. I WAS INFORMED THAT THERE SHOULD HAVE BEEN OVERRIDES. THERE WERE NOT. THE CAR WAS REPAIRED. I WAS TOLD THAT THERE WAS A HIGH AND LOW VOLTAGE READING TO THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL, AND POSSIBLE THROTTLE ISSUE. BATTERY REPLACED, PEDAL REPLACED, AND THROTTLE BODY SERVICE PERFORMED. I WAS TOLD THAT THIS WAS "A PERFECT STORM." LATER I WAS TOLD BY AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC THAT THE FLY BY WIRE SYSTEM WAS THE ISSUE. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. I WAS AT RISK AND SO WAS EVERYONE ELSE. I DO NOT FEEL COMFORTABLE DRIVING KNOWING THAT AT ANY TIME THIS COULD OCCUR AGAIN TO ME OR TO ANY OTHER CAR ON THE ROAD THAT HAS A FLY BY WIRE SYSTEM. I MAINTAIN MY VEHICLE BY REGULAR VISITS TO DEALERSHIP MECHANICS, AND THERE WERE LESS THAN 100,000 MILES ON MY CAR. *TR

MY CAR'S BATTERY KEEPS DYING ON ME. IT WILL DO SO IF I'M DRIVING OR IF IT IS PARK AND SITS. THE BATTERY DRAINS. I HAVE DRIVEN THE CAR, THE BATTERY LIGHT WILL COME ON AND THEN NO POWER (VERY SCARY WHEN DRIVING!!). THE CAR HAS BEEN PARK AND COMPLETELY DIES AND I WILL NEED A HOT SHOT. I HAD THE CAR TOWED IN TO THE GM DEALERSHIP IN OWINGS MILLS, MD AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THE CAUSE IS BECAUSE OF THE NOTICE OF THE VEHICLE TRANSMISSION SHIFTER NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. I AM STILL WAITING FOR THIS TO BE FIXED. THE CAR IS AT THE DEALERSHIP AND I HAD TO CALL THEM SO THAT THEY COULD TELL ME THAT THE PART ISN'T AVAILABLE ANYWHERE AND I HAVE TO WAIT. THEY WANTED ME TO PICK UP THE CAR AND DRIVE IT OFF THE LOT AND THIS CAR ISN'T SAVED TO DRIVE (REASON WHY I HAD IT TOWED THERE). I REQUESTED A LOANER VEHICLE WHILE THE PART COMES IN ON 1/29/15 AND I'M WAITING TO HERE BACK FROM THE MANAGER BUT HAVE NOT RECEIVED A LOANER CAR. *TR
GM SENT A RECALL NOTICE FOR THE POWER STEERING MOTOR FAILING SO I TOOK THE CAR IN FOR SERVICE. ( 2005 SATURN ION 2 ) UP UNTIL REPLACING THE MOTOR WE HADN'T HAD ANY PROBLEMS. WITHIN THREE DAYS OF REPLACING THE MOTOR THE POWER STEERING WENT OUT WHILE DRIVING THROUGH A PARKING LOT. NOW THE GM DEALER WANTS $900 TO REPLACE THE MODULE IN THE STEERING COLUMN. THIS IS A DANGEROUS PROBLEM. IF THE POWER STEERING GOES OUT WHILE CHANGING LANES OR TURNING AROUND A CORNER AND YOU UNEXPECTEDLY LOSE THE POWER STEERING YOU COULD VERY EASILY WRECK. I'VE LOOKED THROUGH THE NHTSA COMPLAINTS AND THIS ISN'T AN ISOLATED ISSUE. OTHER POWER STEERING MOTOR REPLACEMENTS HAVE POWER STEERING MODULE FAILURES SOON AFTER THE MOTOR REPLACEMENT. IT'S TIME FOR NHTSA TO DEMAND GM ISSUE A RECALL FOR THIS OBVIOUS DANGEROUS CONDITION. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE SHIFTER AND THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 55,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING CONTROL MODULE FAILED, THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. 2005 SATURN ION CONSUMER IS COMPLAINING THAT THE DEALER HAS NOT RECEIVED THE PART TO FIX CAR PER RECALL *CN
MY SEAT BELTS WILL NO LONGER BUCKLE. MY SHIFT GETS STUCK IN PARK AND JUMPS INTO OTHER GEARS(NEUTRAL) AND THE CAR REVS ON IT'S OWN WITHOUT PUTTING FOOT ON GAS. MY SHIFT IS DOING THE EXACT SAME THING AS THE RECALL FOR THE AURA AND THE DEALER WANTS TO CHARGE ME $700.00 IN REPAIRS AND THE PARTS ARE ON BACK ORDER FOR 6 MONTHS. AFTER INSPECTING THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THERE WAS A LEAK IN THE FUEL LINE PIPE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL LINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
I TOOK MY CAR IN FOR A RECALL ON THE STEERING AND THE SAID THEY REPLACED THE ELECTRIC STEERING MOTOR. IT STILL HAD NO STEERING . THE GM DEALER SAID IT WAS 58.00 TO TELL ME WHAT WAS WRONG, THE DEALER CAME BACK AND SAID THAT IT WAS THE STEERING MODULE WAS BAD. GM CUSTOMER SERVICE SAYS THE MODULE IS COVERED BUT THE GM DEALER WONT REPLACE IT BECAUSE THEY SAY THAT THE MODULE IS PART OF THE STEERING COLUMN AND ITS ON COVERED FOR THE STEERING COLUMN. I HAVE BEEN GOING ROUND AND ROUND FOR 30 DAYS AND NO AVAIL. I NEED SOME HELP. I AM SENDING THIS FOR MY STEP-DAUGHTER [XXX] WHO IS THE OWNER. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED SEVERAL TIMES. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V047000 (AIR BAGS, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM) AND NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V171000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 130,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 SATURN ION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED THE VEHICLE FAILED TO RESPOND. THE CONTACT HAD TO WAIT BEFORE THE VEHICLE RESUMED NORMAL OPERATION. THE FAILURE RECURRED ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THE ELECTRONICS ON THE PEDAL FAILED. HOWEVER, THE PART TO DO THE REPAIR WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 58,000.
THIS CAR LEAKS FUEL WHEN FILLED AND YOU CAN SMELL FUEL COMING FROM THE CAR AT ALL TIMES. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON AND THE CODE INDICATES THAT FUEL IS EVAPORATING FROM THE TANK. THIS MAKE AND MODEL HAS BEEN RECALLED IN SEVERAL SOUTHERN STATES WHERE THE FUEL EVAPORATES MORE QUICKLY DUE TO THE TEMPERATURE. THE PROBLEM IS WORSE AS THE TEMPERATURE INCREASES. MR. GOODWRENCH AND GM REFUSE TO CORRECT THIS PROBLEM WITHOUT CHARGING FOR THEIR OWN DIAGNOSIS. IT DOES NOT TAKE CERTIFIED MECHANIC TO WATCH THE FUEL DRIP ONTO THE GROUND OR TO READ A CODE THAT HAS ALREADY BEEN READ. I HAVE OPENED A CLAIM WITH GM BUT THE MOST ASSISTANCE THAT IS GIVEN IS TO SCHEDULE A SERVICE CALL & TOW AT MY EXPENSE. I WILL NOT DRIVE A CAR LEAKING GAS AND ENDANGER MY LIFE AND OTHERS TO PAY TO FIND OUT IT IS STILL LEAKING GAS FROM MR. GOODWRENCH.

MY FUEL LINE BEGAN LEAKING AND WHEN I CHECKED I DETERMINED THERE WAS A HOLE IN IT NEAR THE DRIVERS BACK TIRE NEAR THE CLIP, THE FUEL LINE IS ALSO RUSTED OUT. I HAD TO HAVE THE ENTIRE THING REPLACED AND WAS A COST OF OVER $850.00. I FEEL THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND SHOULD BE ON A RECALL LIST. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 SATURN ION. THE CONTACT HAD TO WAIT IN ORDER TO RELEASE THE KEY FROM THE IGNITION AFTER THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN SHUT OFF. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED ACCORDING TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V171000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM), BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE SHIFTER ASSEMBLY ALSO NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 110,000.
MY CAR WOULDN'T START DUE TO A RELATED IGNITION SWITCH ISSUE THAT IS ALSO PART OF A GENERAL GM RECALL. THE NEXT DAY WE WENT TO GIVE THE CAR A JUMP START. IT STARTED UP, BUT IMMEDIATELY I NOTICED THE POWER STEERING WAS OUT MAKING IT VERY DIFFICULT TO DRIVE, ESPECIALLY AT SLOWER SPEEDS!!! *TR

MY CAR LOSES POWER AND THE BATTERY LIGHT COMES ON AND THE CAR STOPS. THE RADIO AND LIGHTS STAY ON. I MUST RESTART THE CAR. IT DOES THIS RANDOMLY. READING IS P0300 SO ANYONE THAT IS HAVING THIS PROBLEM IT MAY BE A BAD IGNITION MODULE. THE IGNITION SWITCH WAS REPLACED ON JULY 14, 2014 AND MADE THIS PROBLEM WORSE. *TR

IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT STATED THAT PRIOR TO THE RECALL REPAIR, THE STARTER AND THE IGNITION SWITCH WERE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000.
THE DAY I BROUGHT THE CAR HOME FROM THE DEALER I DROVE THE CAR TO WORK. PIZZA DELIVERY, DROVE THE CAR FOR APPROXIMATELY 1 HOUR THE CAR WAS IN DRIVE AND SUDDENLY THE CAR ACTED AS IF IT WAS IN NEUTRAL I PRESSED ON THE ACCELERATOR SLIGHTLY AND THE ENGINE REVVED BUT WOULD ONLY ROLL SLIGHTLY. I THEN PUT THE CAR IN PARK TURNED THE CAR OFF RESTARTED THE CAR. IT THEN DROVE FINE FOR 15 MIN. SAME ISSUE AGAIN. I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH MY NEW PURCHASE FROM THE DEALER. I ALSO FOUND OUT THAT THEIR ARE RECALLS ON THE CAR AND THE DEALER FAILED TO MENTION THAT. FIRST DAY WITH MY CAR AND I AM WORRIED. *TR

IN ADDITION, THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME DIFFICULT TO TURN AND THE VEHICLE VEERED TO THE LEFT. THE FAILURE OCCURRED ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 60,998. UPDATED 8/28/14*CN
KEYS CAN NOT BE REMOVED FROM THE IGNITION OF THE 2005 SATURN ION. RESEARCH INDICATED THAT GM HAS THIS PROBLEM ACROSS SEVERAL OF ITS SMALL CAR BRANDS AND MODELS. THE INABILITY TO REMOVE THE KEYS CAUSES THE BATTERY TO DRAIN. IT ALSO LEAVES THE CAR VULNERABLE TO THEFT AS THE CAR CAN BE STARTED AGAIN. GM ALLEGEDLY RECOGNIZES IT AS A PROBLEM WITH UPWARDS OF 88,000 VEHICLES. ARTICLES WRITTEN BY MIKE COLIAS IN AUTOMOTIVE NEWS INDICATED THAT GM, BEING VERY WELL AWARE OF THE ISSUE PROMPTED GM TO OFFER A "SPECIAL COVERAGE ADJUSTMENT" IN WHICH THEY WOULD REPAIR THE CAR FOR FREE, BUT NOT RECALL THE AFFECTED CARS. A LOCAL GM DEALER WAS NOT AWARE OF THIS SPECIAL COVERAGE ADJUSTMENT AND WAS NOT WILLING TO REPAIR THE CAR FOR FREE, ALTHOUGH THEY DID SAY THEY WOULD DO MORE RESEARCH ON THE PROBLEM. THE PROBLEM ONLY SURFACES WHEN THE CAR IS STATIONARY AND IT WILL SHUT OFF. BUT IF GOING AWAY WITH THE CAR OR STOPPING FOR GAS OR ERRANDS FORCES YOU TO LEAVE THE KEYS IN THE CAR, IN ADDITION TO DRAINING THE BATTERY IT BECOMES A LARGE TARGET FOR THEFT.

THE CONSUMER STATED SHE NEVER CAME CLOSE, TO GETTING THE GAS MILEAGE AS ADVERTISED. SHE ALSO EXPERIENCED PROBLEMS WITH THE SUSPENSION, AND FOR A LITTLE OVER A YEAR, SHE HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE VEHICLE NOT STARTING. ON ONE OCCASION, WHEN SHE INSERTED THE KEY INTO THE TRUNK, THE ENTIRE TRUNK LOCK FELL INTO THE CAR. THE CONSUMER RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE, REGARDING THE IGNITION. HOWEVER, THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE. *JB
I HAVE HAD ISSUES WITH MY CAR EVEN AFTER I HAVE HAD SOME RECALLS DONE TO IT. THE BIGGEST ISSUE IS WHEN I AM DRIVING OR STATIONARY WITH MY CAR ON, THE CAR RUMBLES AND FEELS LIKE IT IS TUGGING BACKWARDS. THE CYLINDER 2 KEEPS MISFIRING (P0302). I HAVE SEEN SEVERAL SATURN IONS THAT ARE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE. OVER THE PAST FOUR YEARS THIS HAS BEEN A PROBLEM CONSISTENTLY. THERE ARE PERIODS WHERE IT DOESN'T HAPPEN MUCH AND SOMETIMES IT HAPPENS EVERY TIME I DRIVE. FURTHERMORE, MY CAR STILL DOESN'T TURN ON/OFF ALL THE WAY SOMETIMES AND THE IGNITION SWITCH MESSES UP.

VEHICLE WAS DELIVERED TO LOCAL CAR DEALERSHIP FOR GM FACTORY WARRANTY RECALLS. THE CAR WAS BEING DRIVEN BY TWO SERVICE TECHNICIANS WHEN THE VEHICLE IGNITED IN THE TRUNK AND REAR SEAT AREA. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT DETERMINED THAT THE CAUSE OF THE FIRE WERE THE REAR BREAK LINES THAT HAD SAGGED ONTO THE EXHAUST SYSTEM. SERVICE TECHNICIANS WERE UNAWARE OF THE WORK TO BE DONE ON THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS SUPPOSED TO RECEIVE NHTSA RECALLS 14V047, 14V171, AND 14V153. NONE OF THE RECALLS WERE FURNISHED WHILE IN THE POSSESSION OF THE CAR DEALERSHIP AND COULD POSSIBLY HAVE CONTRIBUTED TO THE FIRE. *TR
THE GAS PEDAL GETS STUCK WHILE DRIVING AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON. CAR WILL NOT EXCEED 5 MPH EVEN IF THE PEDAL IS PUSHED TO THE FLOOR. CAR MUST BE TURNED ON AND OFF 3 TIMES FOR THE PEDAL TO GO BACK TO NORMAL. ANOTHER INCIDENT IS THE CAR WILL STALL WHEN STOPPING AT A LIGHT OR STOP SIGN. TURNS BACK ON WITH NO PROBLEM. I HAVE HAD ALL RECALLS PERFORMED. *TR

CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO SEVERAL RECALL DEFECTS AND REQUESTS REIMBURSEMENT FOR VEHICLE REPAIRS. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE BROKE DOWN AND HAD TO BE TOWED TO THE NEAREST REPAIR FACTUALITY, WHERE THERE KEPT THE VEHICLE FOR OVER TWO MONTHS. AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS RETURNED, THE PROBLEMS CONTINUED. THE ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON AND THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE IGNITION SWITCH. ALSO, THE ENGINE VALES, TIMING CHAIN AND SWAY BAR LINKS WERE REPLACED. *JB

ON MAY 29, 2014 WHEN DRIVING FROM HOME TO WORK ON MY SATURN ION 2005. AT APPROXIMATELY 35 MILES PER HOUR THE ENGINE DID NOT TURN OFF, BUT THE STEERING GOT EXTREMELY HARD THAT I ACTUALLY DROVE ON THE OTHER LANE WITH INCOMING TRAFFIC GOING THE OPPOSITE WAY OF MY DIRECTION. THE DASHBOARD WENT BLANK, MY HEADLIGHTS TURNED OFF MENTIONING THAT IT WAS APPROXIMATELY 0940 NIGHT TIME. *TR
