ON 2/18/2020 A SPONTANEOUS WINDSHIELD BREAKAGE EVENT OCCURED ON MY 2016 SUBARU FORESTER WHILE STOPPED AT A STOPLIGHT ON A CITY STREET. A CRACK DEVELOPED IN THE WINDSHIELD. THE POINT OF ORIGIN WAS THE EMBEDDED WINDSHIELD WIPER BLADE DE-ICER ELEMENT ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE. A HORIZONTAL CRACK THEN SPREAD FROM LEFT TO RIGHT ACROSS THE WINDSHIELD TRANSVERSING THE AREA DIRECTLY ABOVE THE DE-ICER HEATING ELEMENT. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE LOCAL SUBARU DEALER'S SERVICE DEPARTMENT ON 2/19/2020 WHERE THE SERVICE MANAGER ASSESSED THE WINDSHIELD, DETERMINING THAT THERE WEREN'T ANY IMPACT MARKS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE SPONTANEOUS WINDSHIELD BREAKAGE. HE TOOK PICTURES, COMPLETED AN ORDER ON RECORD AND FILED A REPORT WITH THE REGIONAL SUBARU OFFICE. CLAIM #TL1-53388627724. ON 2/21/2020 THE REGIONAL SUBARU OFFICE DENIED A CLAIM TO REPLACE THE WINDSHIELD AND PERFORM THE NECESSARY RECALIBRATION OF THE EYESIGHT SYSTEM BECAUSE THE WINDSHIELD IS OUT OF THE WARRANTY PERIOD OF THREE YEARS. MY CAR IS THREE YEARS AND TEN MONTHS OLD. MILEAGE WAS 31,122 ON 2/18/2020.
CAR SUFFERED 10 UNEXPLAINED ORIGINAL BATTERY DISCHARGES IN YEARS 2-3 OF OWNERSHIP. UPON JUMP START, AUTO WOULD START AND OPERATE NORMALLY FOR 2-5 MONTHS BEFORE NEXT DISCHARGE. SUBARU AUTHORIZED WARRANTY REPLACEMENT THROUGH DEALERSHIP WITH NEW LARGER POWERED BATTERY AT END OF YEAR 3 OF OWNERSHIP. REPAIR STATED FAILURE DUE TO BATTERY LEAKAGE ALTHOUGH NONE WAS OBSERVED BY OWNERS. 13 MONTHS AFTER REPLACEMENT BATTERY WAS INSTALLED, IT DISCHARGED TWICE IN SAME DAY AND WAS TAKEN TO ORIGINAL DEALERSHIP (SUBARU OF PORTLAND). SERVICE TECHNICIAN CHECK DETERMINED BATTERY COULD NOT BE RECHARGED, COULD NOT DETERMINE REASON FOR ITS FAILURE, COULD NOT FIND ANY ELECTRICAL PARASITIC DRAWS AND FOUND ALL SOFTWARE WAS UP TO DATE. OWNER WAS CHARGED FOR NEW BATTERY AND INSTALLATION AS FAILED BATTERY WAS NOW OUT OF 1-YEAR SUBARU REPLACEMENT POLICY. BRIEF INTERNET REVIEW SHOWS THIS HAS BECOME A COMMON PROBLEM WITH 2016-2017 SUBARU'S. SUBARU U.S. CORPORATE CUSTOMER CARE DEPARTMENT DEMONSTRATED NO INTEREST IN TAKING COMPLAINT OR LOGGING IN ANY DETAIL INFORMATION, DIRECTING OWNER BACK TO REPAIRING DEALERSHIP. DEALERSHIP CLAIMS NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR FAILED BATTERIES.
INVOLVED IN ACCIDENT TO RH DOOR AND FENDE. CURTAIN AIR BAG DEPLOYED, SEAT BELT TRIGGERED, NO OTHER AIRBAG SYSTEM ISSUES. AFTER REPAIR INCLUDING CURTAIN AIR BAG REPLACEMENT AND MODULE RESET AS WELL AS ALL SENSORS REPLACED, AIR BAG LIGHT STILL ON. ISSUE TRACED TO RH SEAT BACK AIR BAG. APPARENTLY WHILE IT WAS TRIGGERED BUT IT DID NOT DEPLOY. QUESTION IS THIS AN ISSUE THAT SHOULD BE TAKEN UP WITH THE MANUFACTURER SINCE THE AIR BAG WAS TRIGGERED BUT DID NOT DEPLOY BUT NEVER THE LESS IT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. CANNOT TELL IF VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION AS IT WAS PURCHASED AT AN AUCTION.
THE EYESIGHT HAS TURNED OFF SEVERAL TIMES RECENTLY AND WON'T TURN BACK ON UNTIL I STOP AND RESTART CAR. I HAVE HAD THE CAR FOR 3.5 YEARS AND THIS HAS NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE. THERE WAS NO SUNLIGHT AND VERY LIGHT MIST THIS LAST TIME. THERE WAS NOTHING BLOCKING THE EYESIGHT CAMERA AT ALL. THIS IS NOT THE SAFETY FEATURE THAT I PAID EXTRA FOR.
WHEN I PLACE THE VEHICLE IN PARK I CANT REMOVE MY KEY WITHOUT TURNING IT ON AND BACK OFF A COUPLE TIMES. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR A MONTH NOW SINCE IF OWNED IT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 SUBARU FORESTER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, THE BOTTOM OF THE WINDSHIELD CRACKED ACROSS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE AUTOBARN SUBARU OF COUNTRYSIDE (6191 JOLIET RD, COUNTRYSIDE, IL 60525) HOWEVER, THE MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 62,000.
KEY WILL NOT COME OUT OF IGNITION. THIS STARTED ABOUT 4 MOS AGO. PARK CAR, TURN OFF, BUT KEY WON'T RELEASE AND COME OUT. HAVE TO SOMETIMES RESTART CAR, REVERSE, SLAM INTO PARK. USED TO HEAR A "CLICK" OR LIKE SOMETHING "LOCKED IN", BUT NO LONGER. IT'S GETTING WORSE; CAR IS OUT OF WARRANTY, AND COSTS SEEMS TO BE 500-600 REPAIR. *TR
KEY STUCK IN IGNITION WHEN CAR IS IN PARK.
THE WINDSHIELD ON MY 2016 FORESTER SUBARU CRACKED FROM THE PASSENGER BOTTOM SEAM THEN UP & ACROSS TOWARDS THE DRIVERS SIDE. IT HAS SO FAR STOPPED NEAR THE CENTER. I BELIEVE I HAVE A DEFECTIVE WINDSHIELD. THE PASSENGER SAW IT BUT SAID SHE DIDNT SEE IT THE DAY BEFORE. IT WAS SEEN WHILE DRIVING ON THE STREET. I WILL CONTACT MY INSURANCE COMPANY TOMORROW 2/24/2020 BUT I HAVE A HIGH DEDUCTIBLE SO I WILL HAVE TO PAY OUT OF POCKET FOR A REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT.
THE KEY WILL NOT COME OUT OF THE IGNITION WHEN THE CAR IS STOPPED AND IN "PARK," INTERMITTENTLY. I NEED TO RESTART THE CAR, READJUST THE SHIFTER OUT AND THEN BACK INTO "PARK," UNTIL THE VEHICLE SENSES THAT I AM ACTUALLY IN "PARK" AND ALLOWS ME TO REMOVE THE KEY.
Context: We were driving on the freeway at ~30-40mph when the car in front suddenly braked and stopped. We hit the breaks at the same time that the automatic brakes kicked in. The car stopped, as needed. Issue: After stopping, we pressed the accelerator to start the car moving again but the car revved instead of accelerating. We pulled off/slowly drifted to the side of the road and turned the car off and then back on before the accelerator started to function. This seemed like an engine problem. Safety risk: During this incident we were stopped on the freeway with no way to accelerate, which was very dangerous. We were lucky to be next to the shoulder lane. Otherwise, we would have been stuck in the middle of a freeway with a speed limit of 60mph. Inspection by Subaru result: "FOUND NORMAL OPERATION ON TEST DRIVE. NO CURRENT CODES OR RELATED HISTORY CODES. LIKELY A TEMPRARY FAULT UNDER EXTREME CONDITION. PLEASE MONITOR".
WHEN DRIVING WITH NO ONE IN THE PASSENGER SEAT AND SOMETIMES WHEN THERE IS SOMEONE IN THE SEAT I GET AN SRS AIRBAG FAULT BUT IT NEVER STAYS ON AFTER I SHUT DOWN THE SUV. SOMETIMES WHEN I RESTART THE SUV AFTER ABOUT 5 MINUTES IT WILL COME BACK ON AND IT STAYS ON UNTIL I SHUT OFF THE SUV. THEN NOTHING FOR WEEKS. I'VE WANTED TO TAKE IT TO THE DEALER BUT EVERY TIME I START TO HEAD OVER TO THEN THE FAULT GOES OUT OR NEVER COMES ON? I'M SURE IF I JUST HEAD OVER I'M JUST WASTING MY TIME. THE LAST TWO MONTHS IT'S BEEN MUCH MORE ACTIVE WITH THE FAULT HAPPENING. I'M LISTING THE LAST TIME IT HAS HAPPEN AS 01/10/2020. I KEEP NOTHING ON THE PASSENGERS SEAT AND I AM UNSURE IF THE AIR BAG LIGHT (YELLOW LIGHT ON THE DASH) SHOWS THAT IT IS ON OR OFF WHEN IT COMES ON. MY WIFE WAS DRIVING ABOUT A WEEK AGO AND I WAS IN THE PASSENGER SEAT (6' 225 LBS) AND THE SRS FAULT COME ON AND THE YELLOW AIRBAG LIGHT SHOWED IT WAS STILL ON. I HAVE A TRIP TO PITTSBURGH PA FROM ALLENTOWN PA AND I'M WORRIED THAT IF I'M IN AN ACCIDENT THEY WON'T GO OFF AND PROTECT US. THIS CAR IS JUST OUT OF WARRANTED AND I HAVE ABOUT 44K ON THE VEHICLE. WHEN I WENT FOR MY INSPECTION STICKER,IT FAILED DUE TO A BROKEN RIGHT REAR SPRING,THEN WENT I BROUGHT IT TO BE REPAIRED I FOUND OUT THE LEFT SIDE WAS ALSO BROKEN.
2016 SUBARU FORESTER. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO FRONT PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG SAFETY RECALL. *LD THE CONSUMER STATED THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME COMPLETING THE RECALL REPAIR. *JS
WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY WITH CRUISE CONTROL ON, 2016 FORESTER ENGINE REVVED WHILE ALSO LOSING POWER AND THE LIGHTS ON THE DASH LIT UP. I PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY WITH THE CAR STILL RUNNING, I SHUT THE CAR OFF. AFTER A FEW MINUTES, THE ENGINE STARTED FINE BUT THE CAR STILL HAD NO POWER. WAS TOWED TO THE SHOP AND THEY STATED THE CAR RAN OUT OF GAS. THE CAR STATED THERE WERE 30 MILES LEFT TO DRIVE AND THE GAS LIGHT CAME ON 18 MILES PRIOR (AT 50 MILES ESTIMATED LEFT TO DRIVE) . THE SECOND TIME THIS HAPPENED, I RAN OUT OF GAS WITH 50 MILES LEFT TO DRIVE AND ONLY 5 MILES AFTER THE GAS LIGHT CAME ON. I HAVEN'T LET THE CAR GET BELOW 1/4 TANK DUE TO THIS ISSUE. SOMETHING IS NOT READING RIGHT WITH THE FUEL SYSTEM. THE MANUAL SAYS THERE SHOULD BE ROUGHLY 2 GALLONS LEFT IN THE CAR WHEN THE GAS LIGHT COMES ON SO I SHOULD BE ABLE TO AT LEAST GO 40 MILES AT THE BARE MINIMUM. *TR
VEHICLE FEELS AS THOUGH IT IS ABOUT TO STALL. THIS OCCURS SPORADICALLY WHEN STOPPING OR WHEN UNDER ACCELERATION ON THE FREEWAY. I HAVE TAKEN THE VEHICLE INTO TWO SEPARATE DEALERSHIPS, NEITHER COULD DIAGNOSE A PROBLEM. HOWEVER ONE DID SUGGEST IT MAY BE A PCV VALVE. THIS APPEARS QUITE SIMILAR TO THE RECENT RECALL (19V856) WHICH DOES NOT INCLUDE THIS MODEL YEAR.
Since my driving has cut down drastically since Nov 2019 right before the pandemic, I have been plagued with my battery draining quite quickly. This happens when the car is not driving regularly, sometimes within a week and a half. I have to put the battery on a tender as well. This even occurred after getting the battery replaced at Subaru, and the problem coming back nearly immediately.
MY CAR WAS PARKED IN MY GARAGE AND HAD NOT BEEN STARTED FOR ONE DAY. THE BATTERY WOULD NOT START THE CAR, I HAD TO CALL FOR A JUMP. I WAITED APPROXIMATELY ONE HOUR FOR SOMEONE TO COME THROUGH SUBARU ROAD SIDE ASSIST. THE BATTERY WAS RELATIVELY NEW, AS THE ORIGINAL WAS REPLACED 1/2019. WE TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY TESTED THE BATTERY AND ALTERNATOR, WHICH WERE FINE. THEY RECHARGED THE BATTERY. I PAID FOR THE BATTERY INSPECTION.
THERE IS A LEAK IN THE HEAD GASKET WHICH RUINED A TEMPERATURE GAUGE ($700 TO REPLACE). THE MECHANICS SAY IT IS A DESIGN FLAW AND THERE IS NOTHING I COULD DO TO AVOID THE ISSUE AND IT WILL KEEP HAPPENING UNTIL I FIX THE LEAK.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER HAD EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. NEITHER THE DEALER NOR THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
WEAK OR THIN WINDSHIELD THAT CHIPS/CRACKS EASILY CAUSING VISIBILITY ISSUES AT NIGHT/RAIN/SNOW ETC.
FOR THE PAST MONTH, MY PASSENGER AIRBAG LIGHT WILL INDICATE IT IS "OFF" INTERMITTENTLY WHEN A PASSENGER IS SITTING IN THE SEAT, AND THE CAR'S IGNITION IS TURNED ON AND DRIVING. I BROUGHT MY SUBARU TO THE DEALER TO HAVE IT LOOKED AT AND THEY QUOTED ME A PRICE OF OVER $1,500 IN REPAIRS DUE TO THE NEED TO REPLACE THE SEAT. THE TECHNICIAN TOLD ME NOT TO WORRY ABOUT IT UNLESS THE LIGHT IS ON CONTINUOUSLY. AT THAT POINT, HE SAID TO CONTACT THE SUBARU CORPORATION AS THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND TO FILE A CLAIM. AS OF YESTERDAY (10/26/19) MY PASSENGER AIRBAG LIGHT IS "OFF"CONTINUOUSLY WITH A PASSENGER RIDING IN THE SEAT. THE RED AIRBAG ICON IS LIT UP WHEN THE CAR'S IGNITION IS TURNED ON AND WHILE DRIVING. ON THE DASHBOARD IT INDICATES THAT MY PASSENGER AIRBAG IS "OFF". I HAVE RECEIVED AN EMAIL FROM STARLINK STATING TO TAKE IT TO A SUBARU RETAILER TO HAVE IT CHECKED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. SINCE I HAVE ALREADY DONE THIS, I WILL BE CONTACTING SUBARU TOMORROW. AFTER RESEARCHING, I SAW THAT THERE WAS AN INVESTIGATION OPEN TO THIS PROBLEM AND WANTED TO ADD MY NAME TO THIS LIST.
MY FORESTER ACCELERATES WITHOUT MY KNOWLEDGE. THERE HAVE BEEN INSTANCES WHEN I STOP AT LIGHT AND ADVANCE IT SOMETIMES ACCELERATES MORE THAN I HAVE PRESSED ON GAS. *TR
HAVING TROUBLE GETTING KEY OUT OF IGNITION. WHEN VEHICLE IS PLACED IN "PARK", I CANNOT TURN THE KEY ALL THE WAY TO THE "LOCK" POSITION SO IT CAN BE REMOVED. INSTEAD, THE KEY WILL STOP AT THE "ACC" POSITION, WHICH PREVENTS ME FROM TURNING THE CAR COMPLETELY OFF. EVEN WITH CONTINUALLY MOVING THE GEAR SHIFT BACK TO "NEUTRAL" THEN INTO "PARK", AS WELL AS TURNING THE KEY TO "ON" AND BACK, IT CAN TAKE SEVERAL MINUTES FOR THE KEY TO RECEIVE THE SIGNAL THAT ALLOWS ME TO TURN IT TO "LOCK" SO I CAN REMOVE IT FROM THE IGNITION SWITCH. THIS STARTED ABOUT 2 WEEKS AGO, AND NOW HAPPENS MOST TIMES WHEN I PARK THE VEHICLE.
I TURNED MY VEHICLE ON IN THE MORNING AND A RED 'I' APPEARED AND A WARNING THAT SRS AIRBAG SYSTEM NEEDED TO BE CHECKED. THE PANEL ON THE DASHBOARD HAS AN AIRBAG LIGHT BLINKING. THE PASSENGER AIRBAG LIGHT CONTINUES TO SAY 'OFF' DESPITE THERE BEING WEIGHT IN THE SEAT. THERE HAS BEEN NO DAMAGE TO THE SEAT INCLUDING MOISTURE OR ANYTHING TO DAMAGE THE SEAT. HAPPENED COMPLETELY AT RANDOM.
UNABLE TO REMOVE KEY FROM IGNITION AFTER CAR IS TURNED OFF. REQUIRES SEVERAL ATTEMPTS OF JIGGLING THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTER TO FINALLY FREE THE KEY. VEHICLE IS OFF AND NOT MOVING WHEN THIS OCCURS. A QUICK BIT OF RESEARCH INDICATES THAT THIS IS PROBLEM IS OCCURRING ON ALL SUBARU MODELS NOT JUST THE FORESTER. SUBARU SERVICE BULLETIN 16-112-18R ADDRESSES THIS ISSUE. ONLY 40K MILES MY VEHICLE, OUT OF WARRANTY REPAIR IS OVER 500 DOLLARS. I DON'T SEE HOW THIS IS NOT A RECALL IF IT HAPPENING ON ALL SUBARU MODELS, AN OBVIOUS DEFECT HERE.
WHEN I START THE CAR, THIS INDICATOR TURNS ON: SRS AIRBAG SYSTEM NEEDS TO BE CHECKED PASSENGER AIRBAG REMAINS "OFF" EVEN PERSON SITS ON THE PASSENGER SEAT. THIS HAPPENS WHEN CAR IS STOPPED OR MOVING WHILE THE CAR IS STARTED.
WHILE MY VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY TO PERFORM BRAKE PAD MAINTENANCE, I NOTICED THAT THE SPRING ON THE REAR LEFT SHOCK WAS BROKEN AT THE BOTTOM. VEHICLE HAS 42660 MILES ON IT.
WINDSHIELD RANDOMLY CRACKED
THE FRONT PASSENGER AIR BAG TURNS OFF WHILE A 130 LBS. PASSENGER IS RIDING IN THAT SEAT. ADJUSTING THE SEAT FORWARD OR BACKWARD WHILE TRAVELING TURNS THE SENSOR BACK ON (INDICATING THE PASSENGER AIR BAG IS ON), BUT AS OF TODAY, 4-5 MINUTES LATER IT WOULD TURN OFF AGAIN...OCCURING 5 TIMES IN 35 MINUTES. I FEAR THAT IF WE ARE INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT, THE AIRBAG TO PROTECT MY WIFE AS A PASSENGER MAY FAIL TO DEPLOY.
AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT REGISTERS OFF WHEN PASSENGER IN SEAT. SUBARU DEALER FOUND CODES B1650, OCCUPANT DETECTION, AND CODE B1760, SENSOR MAT ABNORMAL. DETERMINED THAT SEAT BOTTOM WITH SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. 10/2/19 QUOTE TO REPLACE AIRBAG WAS $1168.00. IS THIS ISSUE COVERED UNDER RECALL?
ON OCTOBER 2ND 2019 I WAS TRAVELING ON THE EXPRESS WAY AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS WHEN I WAS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT. DAMAGES TO MY CAR WERE SO BAD THAT THE CLAIMS DEPARTMENT DEEMED IT AS A TOTAL LOSS. THE FRONT OF MY CAR WAS COMPLETELY SMASHED IN. NEITHER OF MY AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. I ALWAYS THOUGHT THAT SUBARUS WERE SUPPOSED TO BE SAFE SO THIS IS VERY DISAPPOINTING. I'M NOT SURE WHERE TO GO FROM HERE ABOUT THIS BUT IT IS SCARY THAT THIS HAPPENED.*DT*JB
PASSANGER AIRBAG IS OFF NO MATTER IF SOMEONE IS SITTING IN THE SEAT AND WILL NOT TURN BACK ON. THIS HAPPENS IF IT IS SITTING STILL OR MOVING SO NOT SAFE FOR PASSANGERS
FRONT SEAT AIRBAG SENSOR LIGHT CAME ON AND WON'T GO OFF. CODE SAYS THAT THE SEAT SENSOR IS NOT WORKING AND AIRBAG STAYS OFF. MOVING, STATIONARY AND CODE WILL NOT RESET
WHILE DRIVING ON STRAIGHT ROAD WITH NO VEHICLES ANYWHERE AROUND OR ANY ROAD DEBRIS HEARD WHAT SOUNDED LIKE WINDSHIELD GLASS IMPACT. SAW NO DAMAGE. NO CRACK APPEARED. 4 HOURS LATER HAD 12 INCH CRACK FROM BOTTOM LEFT BASE OF WINDSHIELD. THERE WAS NO IMPACT AS NO OTHER VEHICLE WAS AROUND ME WHEN THIS OCCURRED. WEATHER WAS A SUNNY 75 AT THE TIME. BAD GLASS? VEHICLE HAS EYESIGHT. IN MOTION AT 50 MPH, GOING STRAIGHT ON COUNTRY 2 LANE ROAD. BEGINNING OF FRACTURE IS TOO LOW TO HAVE BEEN AN IMPACT.
CVT CODES P0700 AND P2764 CAME ON. THE DEALERSHIP SAID THAT IT NEEDS A WHOLE NEW TRANSMISSION AS FIXING JUST THE TORQUE CONVERTER WILL NOT FIX THE ISSUE. ALL WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON AND NONE OF THE SAFETY FEATURES WILL WORK. THE CAR WAS DOING THIS FROM A STARTING POINT AND STAYED ON NO MATTER SPEED. SEEMS TO BE A KNOWN ISSUE WITH CVT...$7,731.00 TO REPLACE
THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 SUBARU FORESTER.THE CONTACT STATES THAT HIS VEHICLE IS NOT SAFE TO BE ON THE ROAD ,THE CONTACT STATED THAT HIS LIGHTS ON HIS VEHICLE ARE NOT PROPERLY WORKING. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN TO 3 DIFFERENT DEALERS FOR REPAIR AND THE PROBLEM IS STILL OCCURRING .THE CONTACT STATED THE ENGINE STOPS ON ITS OWN WITHOUT ANY NOTIFICATION
VEHICLE ONLY HAS 13888 MILES ON IT WHILE REPLACING ALL 4 BRAKE ROTORS (YES ALL 4 DUE TO WARPAGE AND DISHING) FOUND LEFT REAR COIL SPRING BUSTED REPLACED MYSELF DUE TO HOLIDAY WEEKEND AND DON'T HAVE TIME TO GET VEHICLE TOWED BECAUSE WE NEED CAR FOR WORK
I WAS PARKING THE CAR IN A CVS PARKING LOT ON SUNRISE BLVD FT. LAUDERDALE. I MADE A RIGHT TURN INTO THE LOT AND ANOTHER RIGHT TURN INTO THE SPACE ON THE RIGHT. IT WAS A LARGE SPACE AND THE ROW OF PARKING SLOTS ON THE RIGHT SIDE WAS COMPLETELY EMPTY SO I WENT TO DRIVE THE CAR INTO ONE OF THOSE. I MADE THE TURN INTO THE SPACE, DRIVING VERY SLOWLY, WHEN THE CAR SUDDENLY MADE A LOUD NOISE AND SHOT FORWARD. I HAD DONE NOTHING TO CAUSE THIS. THE CAR RAN OVER THE CURB AND INTO A CLUSTER OF SHRUBBERY - ABOUT 7 FEET WIDE. THE CAR CAME TO A STOP INSIDE THE SHRUBBERY BUT THE ENGINE WAS STILL GOING. IT WAS THE SHRUBBERY THAT STOPPED THE CAR. 08/ I WAS NOT INJURED AT ALL. I TRIED TO BACK UP THE CAR BUT IT WOULD NOT BACK UP. ANOTHER DRIVER WHO SAW THE INCIDENT CAME OVER TO SEE IF I WAS OKAY AND HELPED ME OUT OF THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE SINCE THE DRIVER'S SIDE WAS JAMMED UP AGAINST THE SHRUBBERY. HE COULD NOT BACK UP THE CAR EITHER AND INSTEAD DRIVE THE CAR FORWARD THROUGH THE SHRUBS AND CAME AROUND BACK INTO THE PARKING LOT. WE CALLED AAA AND I WAITED FOR THEM.
MY CAR IS SLOWING DOWN DRASTICALLY WHILE MY FOOT IS ON THE GAS AND RPM IS INCREASING. I SUSPECT THAT THE CVT IS SLIPPING AND CAUSING THE CAR TO ENGINE BRAKE. THIS IS THE REASON SUBARU EXTENDED THE CVT WARRANTY, BUT THEY HAVE REFUSED TO REPLACE MY TRANSMISSION BECAUSE THE DEALER HAS NOT BEEN ABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. THERE NEEDS TO BE A RECALL ON THESE CVTS.
THE AIRBAG SENSOR IS NOT FUNCTIONING PROPERLY. THE AIRBAG WILL TURN OFF EVEN WHEN A PASSENGER IS SITTING IN THE SEAT. I AM WORRIED ABOUT THE SAFETY OF THE VEHICLE. I AM TRIED TO CONTACT MY SERVICE DEPARTMENT MULTIPLE TIMES IN THE PAST FEW DAYS WITH NO CALL BACK.
RECEIVED RECALL NOTICE ABOUT SEAT SENSOR AND AIRBAG DEFECT. NEED TO,GET,THIS REPAIRED AS A RECALL, BUT PARTS SUPPOSEDLY NOT YET AVAILABLE. ERROR MESSAGES SINCE AUGUST WHEN DEALER TOLD ME THAT IT WAS AN AIR BAG ISSUE.
INTERMITTENT DASH LIGHT SAYING THE PASSENGER SEAT BELT AND AIR BAG IS TURNED OFF WITH PASSENGER IN THE SEAT AND WHEN CAR IS BEING DRIVEN. COMES ON IN CITY AND HIGHWAY DRIVING BOTH..

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BRUNSWICK SUBARU (2992 CENTER RD, BRUNSWICK, OH 44212, (330) 273-3300) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE BOTTOM SEAT SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE REPAIR WOULD COST $1,200. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,000.
UNABLE TO REMOVE THE KEY FROM THE IGNITION SWITCH WHEN THE VEHICLE IS IN PARK AND THE CAR IS STATIONARY. PER TSP 16 112 18R THE CAUSE IS CONTAMINATION OF THE PARK-RANGE SWITCH INTERNAL COMPONENTS. WE OWN 2 IDENTICAL CARS PURCHASED THE SAME DAY. BOTH HAVE STARTED TO EXPERIENCE THIS EVERY DAY SINCE WE HIT 30,000 MILES. WE PURCHASED IN APRIL 2016, SO WARRANTY NO LONGER COVERS. THERE ARE HUNDREDS (MAYBE THOUSANDS) OF POSTINGS ON MANY FORUMS INDICATING THE SAME ISSUE. THIS HAS RESULTED IN US HAVING TO LEAVE THE KEY IN THE CAR WHEN WE PARK SOMEWHERE. IT TAKES AROUND 3-4 MINUTES TO START AND RESTART THE CAR AND MOVE IT BACK AND FORTH IN ORDER TO RELEASE THE KEY. THIS IS NOT THE SITUATION THAT OCCURS WHEN YOU JUST NEED TO TURN THE STEERING WHEEL.
SENSOR IN THE PASSENGER SEAT WENT BAD UNDER NORMAL USE AND SUBARU DOES NOT WANT TO COVER EXPENSE TO REPLACE, AND THIS SENSOR LETS DRIVER KNOW IF AIRBAG IS ENGAGED (ON) OR NOT.
THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG DOES NOT FUNCTION. THE SENSOR CANNOT TELL WHEN A PASSENGER IS PRESENT. THIS BEGAN HAPPENING INTERMITTENTLY, SHORTLY AFTER I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE NEW. IN THE PAST MONTH, THE AIRBAGS HAVE NOT BEEN ON AT ALL.
THE HORN STOPPED WORKING. I WAS TOLD IF WAS THE ELECTRONIC / ELECTRICAL "CLOCK SPRING MECHANISM?" IN THE STEERING WHEEL. IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND JUST AILED AFTER THE WARRANTY EXPIRED.

Battery constantly fails after a few days of driving. Even after battery has been replaced with new, the problem continues to occur. Car does not start and it needs to be constantly jump started. The problem first started happening in 2019. Just discovered there was a lawsuit related to this issue, but I did not receive any type of notification about it.
