MY DASHBOARD RELEASES VOCS SO MUCH I CANNOT KEEP THE WINDSHIELD CLEAN AND THE SUN BLINDS MY VIEW BECAUSE OF IT. I CLEAN ALMOST EVERY DAY BUT THE SMOG JUST GETS MOVED AROUND AND WILL NOT CLEAN. IT IS A TERRIBLE SAFETY HAZARD. THEY NEED TO MANUFACTURER THE DASH WITH A SAFER MATERIAL.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 SUBARU OUTBACK. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BACK-UP CAMERA VIEW WAS BLOCKED BY THE SUNLIGHT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE GLARE WAS EVIDENT WHETHER THE SUN ROOF WAS OPENED OR CLOSED. THE GLARE PREVENTED THE DRIVER TO SEE CLEARLY WHAT WAS BEHIND THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER SUBARU OF SAN BERNARDINO (645 AUTO CENTER DR, SAN BERNARDINO, CA 92408 (877) 501-8065) WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE BUT OFFERED NO SOLUTION TO THE ISSUE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 45,000.
VEHICLE WOULD NOT START. AFTER JUMPING THE BATTERY VEHICLE STARTED, AAA PERFORMED ROADSIDE TESTING AND DETERMINED THE BATTERY AND ALTERNATOR ARE WORKING PROPERLY AND ARE SUFFICIENTLY CHARGED. CAR WOULD NOT START FOR UNEXPLAINED REASONS. PREVIOUS SERVICE HISTORY LEADS ME TO BELIEVE THERE IS AN ONGOING ELECTRICAL ISSUE WITH THIS VEHICLE. PREVIOUSLY THE AIRBAG LIGHT WOULD FREQUENTLY ILLUMINATE. DEALERSHIP STATED IT WAS DUE TO ELECTRICAL INTERFERENCE AND THAT NOTHING WAS WRONG.
WHEN VEHICLE IS LEFT FOR TWO DAYS OR MORE (SUCH AS IN MY GARAGE OR AT A REMOTE TRAIL HEAD PARKING LOT) THE BATTERY COMPLETELY DRAINS. THIS HAS HAPPENED THREE OR FOUR TIMES AND NO LIGHTS OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT WAS LEFT TURNED ON. BATTERY HAS BEEN CHECKED AT AUTO PARTS STORE AND NO PROBLEMS AND IT RECHARGES TO A FULL CHARGE.
DRIVING 45MP, TEMPERATURE, 75, NO CARS IN FRONT OF ME OR ON THE SIDES OR ONCOMING, THE BOTTOM OF THE WINDOW POPPED ON THE PASSENGER SIDE IN THE BLACK WIPER/ DEFROSTER AREA. A CRACK DEVELOPED RUNNING UP AND TO THE DRIVERS SIDE, ABOUT A FOOT LONG AT THE TIME OF WRITING THIS COMPLAINT
WINDSHIELD STARTED TO SPLIT IN LOWER WIPER RESTING AREA AFTER NO APPARENT IMPACT. VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION AT MODERATE SPEED IN A RESIDENTIAL AREA. SPLIT CONTINUED TO INCREASE IN SIZE OVER THE FOLLOWING 3 DAYS. CORRECT LENGTH APPROXIMATELY 12 INCHES.
MY SUBARU HAS 51,000 MILES ON IT AND HAS HAD 6 WHEEL BEARINGS REPLACED AS FOLLOWS. 3-22-17 @ 29K MILES REPLACE BOTH REAR WHEEL BEARINGS AND FRONT RIGHT WHEEL BEARING. 11-12-18 @45K MILES REPLACED BOTH FRONT WHEEL BEARINGS (2ND TIME FOR FRONT RIGHT) 7-12-19 @ 51K MILES REPLACED FRONT LEFT WHEEL BEARING (2ND TIME FOR FRONT LEFT) THE VEHICLE HAS HAD 6 WHEEL BEARINGS REPLACED IN THE LAST 23 MONTHS. FRONT AXLE BOTH SIDES CHANGED TWICE AND REAR AXLE CHANGED ONCE EACH SIDE. THE LAST WHEEL BEARING ONLY LASTED 6K MILES AND WAS NEAR TOTAL FAILURE MAKING THE VEHICLE INOPERABLE. I AM VERY CONCERNED ABOUT THIS ISSUE AS IT COULD CAUSE A CATASTROPHIC ACCIDENT. THEREFOR I BELIEVE THE NHTSA SHOULD OPEN AN INVESTIGATION INTO THIS VEHICLE.
WINDSHIELD SPONTANEOUSLY CRACKED WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY.
SAFETY ISSUE: CAR HORN DOES NOT WORK (NO SOUND) WHEN DRIVING STRAIGHT AHEAD AND STEERING WHEEL IS STRAIGHT. FOR HORN TO WORK I MUST TURN THE STEERING WHEEL EITHER TO THE RIGHT TO THE 2:00 O'CLOCK POSITION AND BEYOND OR TO THE LEFT TO THE 10:00 O'CLOCK POSITION AND BEYOND.
BATTERY IS DEAD AFTER ONE DAY OF COMPLETE BATTERY CHARGE THIS IS THE THIRD TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED ON A REPLACEMENT BATTERY. THE ORIGINAL SUBARU BATTERY FAILED IN SAME MANNER. CHARGING SYSTEM IS PUTTING OUT 13.85 VOLTS WHEN CAR IS RUNNING. BATTERY VOLTAGE AFTER TRICKLE CHARGE 12.87. STATIONARY
WINDSHEILD CRACKED FOR NO APPEARANT REASON. THERE ARE MANY ACCOUNTS OF THIS PROBLEM ONLINE.VEHICLE WAS SITTING IN DRIVEWAY NOT MOVING WHEN CRACK OCCURRED. .IN SHORT TIME CRACK RAN OUT 1 1/2 FEET. HAD WINDSHEILD REPLACED ON 06/18/19
HELLO, MY WINDSHIELD BROKE ABOUT 6 MONTHS AFTER PURCHASING THE VEHICLE. I DON'T KNOW HOW OR WHY. IT WAS JUST BROKEN ONE MORNING WHEN I WENT OUT TO MY CAR. I FIGURED A ROCK OR SOMETHING HIT IT. THERE WAS NO RECALL AT THE TIME AND SO I HAD IT REPLACED WITH A OEM WINDSHIELD. MY SECOND WINDSHIELD JUST BROKE A COUPLE OF WEEKS AGO WHILE CHANGING MY WIPERS YOU CAN SEE WHERE THE CERAMIC WIPER HEATER DELAMINATED INSIDE OF THE WINDSHIELD. IT TURNED BRIGHT RED. I HAVE OWNED ALOT OF CARS AND NEVER SEEN A WINDSHIELD THAT IS SO FRAGILE. I HAVE CHANGED MANY, MANY WIPER BLADES AND I KNOW WHAT A QUALITY WINDSHIELD IS. I SET THE WIPER BLADE HOLDER DOWN ON THE WINDSHIELD GENTLY AND IT CRACKED, THE CRACK GREW ACROSS THE WINDSHIELD IN A DAY OR SO. RIDICULOUS. THESE WINDSHIELDS RUN ABOUT 500 BUCKS AND SHOULD BE BETTER QUALITY. I ALSO HAVE ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS WHERE MY CAR CLOCK WILL NOT SET... CURRENTLY. IT TOOK THEM 3 YEARS TO FIGURE OUT THE STEERING RETAINING PIN WAS BROKEN EVEN THOUGH I WAS COMPLAINING ABOUT IT SINCE I BOUGHT THE CAR. THE REAR GATE STOPPED OPENING AND THEY HAD TO REPLACE THE STRUTS ON A 3 YEAR OLD CAR. THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE FRONT END BUT MY DEALER SAID "WAIT UNTIL IT GETS WORSE" CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT? THANKS,
MY VEHICLE HAS HAD REPEATED DEAD BATTERY PROBLEMS. IN FEB THE DEALER SAID I NEEDED A NEW BATTERY AND CHARGED ME $174. ON 5/20/19 MY BATTERY WAS DEAD. I HAD IT JUMPED AND THEN DROVE OVER 40 MILES. ON 5/22/19 IT WAS DEAD AGAIN. THE DEALER SAID I DON'T DRIVE ENOUGH. MANY OTHERS HAVE CLEARLY HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. I THINK I HAVE A LEMON.
THE REAR DOORS FOR OUR 2015 OUTBACK ARE STUCK IN THE CHILD SAFETY LOCK POSITION. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED. WE PAID OVER $300+ TO HAVE THE MECHANIC ACCIDENTALLY BREAK THE SWITCH AND THEN REPAIR IT. THE SWITCH ON THE OTHER DOOR IS ALSO STUCK WITH THE CHILD SAFETY LOCK ENGAGED.
2015 SUBARU OUTBACK. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO DAMAGE TO HOSES IN VEHICLE DUE TO RODENTS. *LD *JS
KEY STUCK IN IGNITION WHEN I PARKED AND TRIED TO TAKE KEY OUT. I WAS AWAY FROM HOME. EVENTUALLY, I MOVED GEARS AND I PUSHED KEY INWARDS AND IT RELEASED. I JUST HAD A HEFTY REPAIR BILL BEFORE DISCOVERING RECALLS FOR THIS ISSUE ON EARLIER MODELS.
The contact owns a 2015 Subaru Outback. The contact stated that the vehicle was experiencing frequent battery failure. The contact stated before the battery failed, the check battery warning light was illuminated. The contact had replaced the battery three times within five years. The contact had not taken the vehicle to the local dealer. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 14,739.
THE WINDSHIELD ON MY 2015 OUTBACK CRACKED FROM THE DRIVER'S SIDE BOTTOM UPWARD THEN TURNED TOWARD THE PASSENGER SIDE IN AN L SHAPE. TOOK IT TO THE SUBARU DEALERSHIP AND THEY OF COURSE CLAIM THAT THERE MUST HAVE BEEN AN IMPACT THAT CAUSED THE CRACK. THE ASST. SERVICE MANAGER ACTUALLY ARGUED WITH ME AND CLAIMED THAT YOU COULD FEEL A POINT OF IMPACT WHERE A ROCK "MUST HAVE HIT" AND BLAMED THAT FOR THE CRACK. I CAN FEEL NO POINT OF IMPACT AND WAS IN FACT DRIVING THE CAR WHEN THE CRACK HAPPENED AND KNOW THAT NOTHING HIT THE WINDSHIELD. DESPITE THE CLASS ACTION SUIT AGAINST THESE WINDSHIELDS, SUBARU IS STILL NOT WILLING TO REPLACE IT AFTER THEIR "CLOSE AND CAREFUL" INSPECTION THAT TOOK ABOUT 10 SECONDS. THEY TOLD ME THE WARRANTY WOULD NOT COVER IT. THEY CLEARLY KNOW THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THESE WINDSHIELDS AND ARE DOING NOTHING TO CORRECT IT, EVEN REFUSING TO REPLACE ONES THAT DO HAVE A PROBLEM. BESIDES BEING A BAD BUSINESS MOVE FOR SUBARU, THIS SEEMS LIKE A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE FOR CONSUMERS.
TAKATA INFLATORS. WHILE DRIVING WE NOTICED THE SPEED CONTROL SYSTEM STOPPED FUNCTIONING, IT WOULD NOT ACTIVATE OR ENGAGE. WE PULLED OVER AND TURNED OFF THE ENGINE, AFTER ABOUT 1 MINUTE WE STARTED UP AND ONCE ON THE ROAD IT WAS WORKING FINE FOR ABOUT 5 MILES OR SO THEN STOPPED AGAIN. THEN THE ABS LIGHT ALONG WITH OTHER INSTRUMENT LIGHTS WOULD COME ON. WHEN WE GOT HOME WE CALLED A MECHANIC AND ADVISED WE BRING IT IN, WHICH WE DID. HE SAID THE SPEED SENSOR IS BAD (PART #27540AL11B) WHICH CAUSED OTHER LIGHTS TO COME ON AND SAID IT WAS NOT SAFE TO OPERATE THE VEHICLE ESPECIALLY WHERE WE DRIVE WHICH IS IN THE SIERRA NEVADA MOUNTAINS. HE ORDERED PART BUT WAS TOLD THIS PART IS ON NATIONAL BACKORDER AND MAY BE AVAILABLE ON APRIL 2, 2019. OUR CAR HAS NOW BEEN IN THE SHOP SINCE MARCH 8TH, THIS IS SUCH AN INCONVENIENCE. THE CAR HAS APPROX 58K MILES ON IT. WOULD THIS NOT BE UNDER WARRANTY.
I'VE HAD MY 2015 OUTBACK FOR 3 YEARS NOW (2020 NOW) I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THE BATTERY EVERY YEAR. THE FIRST YEAR I BELIEVED IT WAS TIME FOR A NEW BATTERY, WITHIN 6 MONTHS MY CAR DIED WHILE I WAS DRIVING INTO A PARKING LOT. THE ENTIRE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM SHUT DOWN AND I HAD TO MANUALLY MOVE IT. MY MECHANIC TOOK APART MY ENGINE AND DISCOVERED LOOSE SEALS THAT HAD ALLOWED MANY PARTS TO RUST OVER INCLUDING BROKEN BRACKETS AND A TORQUE CONVERTER. WARRANTY WON'T COVER ANY RUST BUT DID COVER THE $84 BROKEN SEAL. I SPENT CLOSE TO $3,000 ON REPAIRS AND A NEW BATTERY THEN. I WAS INITIALLY QUOTED FROM THE DEALERSHIP $6K. IT HAS BEEN 11 MONTHS AND I LEFT MY CAR ALONE FOR 3 DAYS AND THE BATTERY IS COMPLETELY DEAD ONCE AGAIN.
SUBSTANTIAL RUST HAS DEVELOPED AT THE ATTACH POINT OF THE DRIVER'S SEAT-BELT TO THE DRIVER'S SEAT AND OF THE ATTACH-POINT OF THE DRIVER'S SEAT TO THE CAR. WE'RE THE ORIGINAL OWNER AND THE CAR WAS NEVER FLOODED OR EXPOSED TO WATER IN ANY OTHER WAY. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER TWO WEEKS AGO AND THEY DIDN'T KNOW WHAT TO MAKE OF IT OR DO ABOUT IT. THEY REACHED OUT TO SUBARU AND (AS OF 4/24) THE DEALER HASN'T RECEIVED A RESPONSE. THE PASSENGER SIDE DOESN'T HAVE THIS PROBLEM, BUT THE DESIGN IS ENTIRELY DIFFERENT -- NO EXPOSED METAL. INTERESTINGLY, WHEN THE SERVICE ADVISOR CHECKED OTHER LATER-YEAR GEN 5 OUTBACKS THE DESIGN HAD CHANGED: THERE WAS NO LONGER ANY EXPOSED METAL IN THE EQUIVALENT LOCATION. THE NEWER DESIGN FOR THE DRIVER-SIDE ATTACH-POINT MIMICS THE PASSENGER SIDE - NO EXPOSED METAL. A 2016 OUTBACK IN FOR SERVICE HAD THE SAME EXPOSED METAL DESIGN ON THE DRIVER-SIDE SEAT. IT ALSO HAD RUSTING AT THE SAME LOCATION (ALTHOUGH NOT NEARLY AS SEVERE AS ON MINE). IT DOES NOT SEEM SAFE TO HAVE THIS KIND OF RUST AT SUCH A KEY ATTACH-POINT FOR THE SEAT AND A CRITICAL SAFETY DEVICE LIKE A SEATBELT. WE LIVE IN A WARM/TEMPERATE PART OF CALIFORNIA AND THE CAR HAS ALWAYS BEEN "HOMED" IN PART OF CALIFORNIA, SO IT HAS NOT BEEN EXPOSED TO HARSH WEATHER.
WINDSHIELD SPONTANIOUSLY CRACKED FROM PASSENGER B PILLER TO CENTER. WAS GETTING READY TO LEAVE A MOTEL IN AZ ON A COLD, FROSTY RAINEY DAY. I HAD TURNED ON DEFROSTER AND HEATER. AS WE STARTED TO MOVE THE VEHICLE TO THE FREEWAY , PASSENGER AND I BOTH HEARD A POP AND NOTICED A CRACK RUNNING FROM BEHIND THE PASSENGER B PILLER TO THE CENTER. NO OTHER VEHICLES WERE MOVING NEAR MY VEHICLE. SUBARU HAS DENIED CLAIM CLAIMING WINDSHIELD DAMAED BY A ROCK. I HAVE NEVER NOTICE A ROCK STRIKE ON THE WINDSHIELD. THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION BUT NOT IN TRAFFIC- ON ACCESS ROAD.
WHILE PARKED OUTSIDE IN THE DRIVEWAY DURING WINTER, A CRACK APPEARED AT THE VERY BOTTOM OF THE WINDSHIELD ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. NOTHING KNOWINGLY HIT THE WINDSHIELD, AND I SEE AND FEEL NO KIND OF IMPACT POINT. THE CRACK EXTENDED UPWARD AND THEN SPREAD TOWARD THE DRIVER'S SIDE OVER THE NEXT FEW DAYS. I HAVE CONTACTED A SUBARU DEALER ASKING THEM WHAT SUBARU'S POLICY IS REGARDING WINDSHIELD REPLACEMENTS ON 2015 OUTBACKS. I AM WAITING FOR THEIR REPLY.
THE SRVD (BLIND SPOT) NOT WORKING INDICATOR LIGHT COMES ON--MEANING THE BLIND SPOT MECHANISM WILL NOT WORK. I HAVE TURNED THE CAR OFF AND STARTED AGAIN WHICH MAY ELIMINATE THE PROBLEM. THERE HAVE BEEN OTHER PUBLISHED COMPLAINTS AS DETAILED IN CONSUMER FORUMS ON THE INTERNET. THE BLIND SPOT LIGHT ON THE OUTSIDE MIRRORS WILL WILL NOT WORK IF THE SRVD IS NOT FUNCTIONING.
WINDSHIELD CRACKED FROM BASE OF WINDSHIELD RUNS THROUGH HEATING ELEMENT AND WIPER AREA. DOES NOT APPEAR TO BE CAUSED BY PEBBLE IMPACT OR POSSIBLY EXTREMELY MINOR ONE AND SPREAD IMMEDIATELY
WHEN I CHANGE GEARS FROM P( PARKING) IN TO D(DRIVE) IT TAKE AROUND 2 SECONDS TO START THE CAR DRIVING I THINK THAT IS BAD FOR TRANSMISSION, ANOTHER PROBLEM IS WITH TACHING SCREEN IT DOESN'T WORK PROPERLY MANY TIMES ESPECIALLY WHEN I'M DRIVING IN R(REARVERSE) AND THE GEAR LIGHTS IN DASHBOARD DO NOT TURN ON . WE WERE DRIVING OUR 2015 SUBARU OUTBACK AT ABOUT 55MPH ON US20, THE TEMPERATURE WAS IN THE MID 30'S, IN EAST OREGON WHEN OUR SUNROOF SPONTANEOUSLY EXPLODED. THERE WERE NO OTHER VEHICLES AROUND AND THERE WAS NO IMPACT FROM FOREIGN OBJECTS. THERE WAS A LOUD, DISTRACTING, BANG FOLLOWED BY A CLOUD OF SHATTERED GLASS COMING FROM THE BACK OF THE CAR. THE SUNROOF COVER WAS CLOSED AND THE TEMPERED GLASS FRAGMENTS COLLECTED IN THE WELL AND RATTLED AROUND FOR THE REMAINING 3 1/2 HOURS OF OUR JOURNEY.
FUEL DOOR DOES NOT OPEN TO ALLOW ACCESS TO GAS CAP. I WAS LOW ON GAS AND COULD NOT FILL THE TANK BECAUSE I COULD NOT ACCESS THE GAS CAP.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 SUBARU OUTBACK. WHEN THE CONTACT ENTERED THE VEHICLE, THE WINDSHIELD CRACKED WITHOUT IMPACT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO RELIABLE SUBARU (438 INGRAM MILL RD, SPRINGFIELD, MO 65802, 855-983-7578) WHO STATED THAT A PHOTO WOULD BE PROVIDED TO THE MANUFACTURER TO MAKE A DETERMINATION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: TL1-38506103544. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,000.
WIND SHIELD CRACKED FOR NO REASON. NO ROCK IMPACT, NO DAMAGE, JUST CRACKED. HORIZONTAL CRACK ACROSS THE MIDDLE OF THE WIND SHIELD
WINDSHIELD CRACK APPEARED WITHOUT OBVIOUS CAUSE.
EXHAUST SYSTEM ISSUE. EXHAUST MAINFOLD LEAK AT CATALYST CONVERTER. FOR OUR OUTBACK WE NOTICED A SIGNIFICANT LEVELS OF EXHAUST FUMES IN PASSENGER CABIN. THEY WERE NO INDICATION OF FAILURE OF EXHAUST SYSTEM OR CATALYST CONVERTER ON THE CAR. BUT WE ARE GETTING SOME MUCH FUMES SMELL WHEN WE STOPPED AT THE TRAFFIC SIGNAL OR PARKING LOT. IT ALL MOST MADE US SICK. LUCKILY I GOT IT CHECKED AT THE SERVICE CENTER AND THEY FIND THE LEAK. THIS IS POTENTIALLY A VERY RISKY THING FOR PEOPLE WHO DON'T NOTICE THE SMELL MIGHT GET SLOW POISONED WITH CARBON MONOXIDE OR OTHER ELEMENTS IN EXHAUST FUMES. THERE MAY BE DIRECT INJURY FROM THIS ISSUE BUT AS I SAID I WAS ALMOST GOT SICK BECAUSE OF FUMES. FOR PEOPLE WITH PZEV VEHICLE, THE EXHAUST SYSTEM IS COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. PLEASE BRING THIS ISSUE WITH MANUFACTURING. FOR PEOPLE OUT THERE IF YOU NOTICE A LOUD EXHAUST NOTE AT START OF YOUR VEHICLE OR SMALL RATTLING NOISE WHEN WE YOU ACCELERATE AFTER A COMPLETE STOP, IT MIGHT BE YOUR EXHAUST SYSTEM, PLEASE GET IT CHECKED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. PS ATTACHED IS THE DIAGNOSIS REPORT FROM DEALER SERVICE CENTER BE SAFE OUT THERE !! THANK YOU.
AT 65000 MILES I HAD TO REPLACE A WHEEL BEARING. I HAVE NEVER HAD A VEHICLE NEED A WHEEL BEARING WITH THIS LOW MILLAGE. I AM TOLD OTHERS HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM.
I'VE HAVING BREAK PROBLEMS WITH THIS CAR SINCE I FIRST BOUGHT USED. PRE OWNED CERTIFIED WITH THE DEALERSHIP. I'VE TOOK THE CAR IN A COUPLES SAYING THE BREAKS MAKE LOUD SQUEAKING NOISE AND PULSING EVERY TIME I HIT THE BREAK AND SOMETIMES DOESN'T STOP IMMEDIATELY. 'SCARY SITUATION'. THE SERVICE GUY LOOKS AT IT AND ALWAYS SAYS NOTHING WRONG WITH IT. I TAKE IT BACK AND IT'S REPEAT ALL OVER AGAIN WITH SUPPOSEDLY NOTHING WRONG WITH THE BREAKS. I GAVE UP ON PLANET SUBARU DEALERSHIP AND DECIDED TO CHANGE THE BREAKS MYSELF TO SEE IF THAT CORRECT THE ISSUE. NOPE IT DIDN'T CORRECT THE ISSUE. MY BREAKS ARE STILL PULSING AND MAKING A LOUD SQUEAKING NOISE. I PUT NOISE FREE ON THE BREAKS AND STILL NOT HELPING, WHEN THE BREAKS START TO PULSES, THE BREAK GETS TIGHT AND WON'T STOP IMMEDIATELY. WINTER IS COMING AND I'M SURE THIS WILL BE THE DEATH OF ME. SUBARU NEEDS TO FIX THIS ISSUES. I'M SURE THERE WILL BE MORE COMPLAINTS REGARDING THIS SOON. SUBARU CARS ARE NOT RELIABLE ANYMORE. I'M SCARED DRIVING THIS CAR WITH MY BREAK PROBLEMS AND SUBARU NOT WANTING TO FIX THE ISSUES. PURCHASED THE CAR APRIL 2018 AND NOW IT'S NOVEMBER 2018. THE LAST 7 MONTHS OF CONTINUOUS BREAK PROBLEMS.. REAR HATCH DOES NOT RELIABLY OPEN - CANNOT CLOSE AFTER MANUAL OVERRIDE. VEHICLE HAS HAD ISSUE FOR OVER 15000 MILES AND 5 TIMES AT THE DEALER BUT HAS NOT BEEN RESOLVED. REAR HATCH DOES NOT OPEN RELIABLY AND WHEN A MANUAL OVERRIDE IS NECESSARY TO REMOVE CARGO OR PETS, THE HATCH DOES NOT CLOSE EASILY AND DOOR LIGHT REMAINS ON EVEN WHILE DRIVING. THIS CAUSES AND OBVIOUS SAFETY ISSUE BOTH FOR CARGO ESCAPING THE VEHICLE AND ALSO FOR EXHAUST ENTERING THE VEHICLE. THIS OCCURS WITH ALL DOORS UNLOCKED, VEHICLE IS STOPPED, KEY FOB IS ATTEMPTED AS WELL AS DOOR TRIGGER TO OPEN THE HATCH. NO MEMORY SET WHEN ATTEMPTING TO OPEN. NO USER ERROR.
THE PIPES THAT CONNECT TO MANIFOLD TO MUFFLER NEED TO BE REPLACED AFTER 50,000 MILES. SUBARU SAID THIS IS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANT, BECAUSE IT IS NOT THE MANIFOLD.
FUEL GAS DOOR STICKS AND WILL NOT OPEN
WE CAME OUT TO FIND A 6-8 INCH CRACK LINE EMANATING FROM THE TOP RIGHT PASSENGER SIDE ONE MORNING. WE DROVE IT 5 MILES AFTER THAT AND WHEN WE CAME OUT IT HAD TRAVELLED AT A 45 DEGREE ANGLE TOWARDS THE MIDDLE OF THE WINDSHIELDS DRIVER SIDE. BY THE TIME WE GOT HOME IT HAD MOVED HALFWAY THROUGH THE GLASS AND ENDED IN A "J" AT THE MIDDLE OF THE WINDSHIELD. THIS WILL BE MY THIRD WINDSHIELD REPLACEMENT! THE FIRST WAS A RECALL. THE SECOND REPLACEMENT WAS FROM THE TEENIEST PING FROM A CAR ON THE FREEWAY AND NOW THIS IS THE THIRD REPLACEMENT! THIS IS MY FIRST SUBARU. WE HAVE ALWAYS BOUGHT TOYOTA IN THE PAST. I REMEMBER ONE INCIDENT ON THE FREEWAY FROM A TRUCK HITTING THE RAV 4 AND IT WAS AN ISOLATED HOLE THAT WE COULD HAVE FILLED, NOT REPLACED! DO I REALLY HAVE TO HAVE A NEW WINDSHIELD EVERY YEAR?! THIS IS RIDICULOUS. I E-MAILED SUBARU THREE DAYS AGO AND HAVE HAD NO RESPONSE.
I HAVE HAD 3 RADIOS REPLACED IN MY 2015 OUTBACK, SINCE 12-8-17 PROBLEMS INCLUDE , NAVIGATION GOING OUT, THE SIRIUSXM GOING OUT, NOW THE REPLACEMENT UNIT( BOTH REMANUFACTURED) HAS A 'CHIRP' SOUND COMING OUT OF IT WHEN DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD ON ALL CHANNELS. VERY DISTRACTING AS YOU LOOK DOWN AT THE DASH TO CHECK FOR WARNINGS, TAKING YOUR EYES OFF THE ROAD.THIS REPLACEMENT UNIT IS LESS THAN A WEEK OLD( REPLACED ON 7-26-18. CAR WAS STATIONARY AND CRACKED FROM BOTTOM TO FORM 8 IN L SHAPE SAME AS THE LAST TIME THE WINDSHIELD WAS REPLACED 3 YEARS PRIOR
WE NOTICED AN EXHAUST LEAK (NOISY) ON OUR 2015 OUTBACK, UPON INSPECTION BY THE DEALER THEY DETERMINED THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED, THEY INITIALLY REJECTED OUR WARANTEE CLAIM BECAUSE SUBARU AUTHORIZES REPLACEMENT ONLY IF A MIL IS PRESENT. AFTER SOME DISCUSSION THE DEALER (SUBARU) AGREED TO REPLACE AS "GOOD WILL". WE LIVE IN THE NORTHEAST AND IT SEEMS ROAD SALT AND SAND CAUSE THE CONVERTER TO RUST PREMATURELY, THE LOCATION OF THE CONVERTED IS AFT OF THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD AND AT THE BASE OF THE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT, THERE IS A RISK OF CARBON MONOXIDE POISONING WITH THESE TYPES OF LEAKS, AND IT IS UNHEARD OF THAT THESE PARTS FAIL AFTER THREE YEARS.
PLEASE READ UPLOAD DOCUMENTS. MY 2015 SUBARU OUTBACK BEGAN SHOWING SIGNS OF EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION IN THE SUMMER 2018. APPARENTLY THIS WAS A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH SUBARU AND CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT WAS FILED AGAINST SUBARU FOR MODELS MADE PRIOR TO 2015. MY VEHICLE FAILED A OIL CONSUMPTION TEST IN THE FALL OF 2018. I WAS TOLD BY WHITE BEAR SUBARU IF THE VEHICLE FAILED AN OIL CONSUMPTION TEST SUBARU OF AMERICA WOULD PAY TO HAVE A NEW SHORT BLOCK INSTALLED DUE TO THIS ONGOING ENGINE DEFECT. HOWEVER, SUBARU OF AMERICA REFUSED TO PAY THE FULL AMOUNT TO HAVE A NEW SHORT BLOCK INSTALLED AS EVEN THOUGH MY CAR WAS MAKE IN 2014 IT IS TECHNICALLY A 2015 THAT THE CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT ONLY PROTECTED CONSUMERS OF MODELS PRIOR TO 2015. ALSO, IN THE FALL OF 2018 THE INTERIOR OF THIS VEHICLE BEGAN TO HAVE A EXHAUST SMELL AND WAS MAKING ME FEEL SICK. THEY DETERMINED THAT PART OF THE EXHAUST SYSTEM WAS BROKEN BUT TOLD ME NOT TO HAVE IT FIXED BEFORE THE NEW SHORT BLOCK WAS INSTALLED AND THE EXHAUST SYSTEM WOULD JUST BECOME CLOGGED WITH THE OIL THE CAR WAS BURNING. I WENT AHEAD HAD HAD THE REPAIR DONE ANYWAY AS THE EXHAUST AIR WAS TERRIBLE.
IN JUNE OF 2018 OUR FRONT WINDSHIELD DEVELOPED A CRACK ACROSS THE TOP DRIVER SIDE, THERE IS NO EVIDENCE OF ANY SORT OF IMPACT TO THE WINDSHIELD AND THE CRACK SPREAD ACROSS THE ENTIRE WINDSHIELD OVER A NUMBER OF DAY. SUBARU REJECTED OUR WARANTEE CLAIM BECAUSE THE CRACK WAS IN THE WRONG LOCATION.
WHILE PARKING THE CAR AT AN OPEN PARKING LOT IN SHOPPING CENTER AT LOW SPEED (<5MPH) THE ENGINE SURGED SUDDENLY AND THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED UNCONTROLLABLY. IT REQUIRED TREMENDOUS PRESSURE ON BRAKE TO EVENTUALLY OVERRIDE THE ENGINE.
RIGHT REAR WHEEL BEARING FAILURE AT 45,000 MILES. LOUD GRINDING, THEN THUMPING NOISES WHEN AUTO IN MOTION
MY CAR WAS PARKED AT A PIER. GOT INTO CAR AND WOULD NOT START. DID NOT SEEM LIKE A BATTERY ISSUE, HOWEVER, AS IT SOUNDED AS IF IT WOULD START TO TURN OVER, BUT THEN JUST CLICKED OFF. THEN I PUSHED THE BUTTON TO THE DRIVER'S SEAT WINDOW AND IT GOT STUCK HALF WAY UP, BUT THE OTHER WINDOWS WERE OKAY AT THAT TIME. THEN THE WHEEL LOCKED UP AND THE BREAK WOULD NOT BUDGE. THEN AFTER TRYING TO TURN THE CAR ON AGAIN, THE OTHER WINDOWS STOPPED WORKING. EACH TIME BEFORE TRYING TO START IT AGAIN, I WAITED A FEW MINUTES. THEN AFTER TRYING TO START THE CAR AGAIN, ALL THE LOCKS FROZE AND WE WERE STUCK INSIDE THE VEHICLE! INSIDE LOCKS AND LEVER DID NOT WORK! LUCKILY, THE DRIVER'S SEAT WINDOW WAS STUCK HALF WAY DOWN, SO I TOOK MY MANUAL KEY OUT OF THE ACCESS KEY, AND STUCK MY HAND AND ARM OUT THE WINDOW TO OPEN THE CAR FROM THE OUTSIDE. IT WAS ALSO LUCK THAT MY FRIEND WAS WITH ME, AS SHE HAD TO PULL THE INSIDE KNOB AT THE SAME TIME (AS I COULD NOT REACH IT) SO I COULD OPEN THE DOOR. THEN 2 MEN WALKED BY AND OFFERED THEIR ASSISTANCE. WHERE ABLE TO JUMP START THE CAR AND GET IT GOING. THE PROBLEM STILL WAS NOT SOLVED, HOWEVER, AS NOW MY PARKING BREAK WAS STUCK ON AND I COULD NOT TURN IT OFF. THEN I INADVERTENTLY TURNED THE CAR OFF, AND IT MIRACULOUSLY TURNED RIGHT BACK ON AND ALL SOFTWARE DEFICIENCIES WERE CLEARED SO I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE HOME. THIS ALL HAPPENED OVER A PERIOD OF 5 HOURS, DURING WHICH TIME I HAD CALLED AAA FOR A TOW, MY EX-HUSBAND FOR A RIDE (AS AAA WOULD NOT ALLOW MY DOG TO RIDE IN THE TOW TRUCK) AND I WAS 1HR 20 MIN FROM HOME WHICH AS THE EVENING CREPT IN, WAS SLOWLY BECOMING AN UNSAFE AREA AND WE WERE GETTING MORE AND MORE SCARED. WHAT IF I HAD BEEN ALONE? WHAT IF MY WINDOW WAS NOT HALF WAY DOWN? WHAT IF I HAD BROKEN DOWN IN AN UNSAFE PLACE FROM THE GET GO? THIS CAR IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE!
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 SUBARU OUTBACK. WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE VEHICLE'S WHEELS SEIZED AND THE VEHICLE JERKED VIOLENTLY. THE FAILURE OCCURRED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO SUBARU OF LAS VEGAS (6455 W ROY HORN WAY, LAS VEGAS, NV 89118) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT CV AXLES AND THE TRANSMISSION FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 24,000.
I WAS ON A MAJOR HIGHWAY COMING TO STOP FOR A TRAFFIC LIGHT. ALL OF A SUDDEN THE CAR ACCELERATED. I PRESSED HARDER ON THE BRAKE BUT IT WOULDN'T STOP. FINALLY I PUT THE CAR IN NEUTRAL AND TAPPED ON THE GAS PEDAL AND THE ENGINE TUNED DOWN. I PURCHASED THE CAR USED IN 2017 FROM HONDA NORTH.IN BUTLER PA. AFTER ABOUT 6 MONTHS THE INCIDENT HAPPENED. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON SINCE THEN AND HAS ONLY GOTTEN WORSE. THIS PAST MONTH IT HAS BEEN HAPPENING AT LEAST TWICE A WEEK. LRECENTLY I ALMOST A SMALL CHILD AND HIS MOM PULLING OUT OF A PARKING SPOT. I HAVE GRAND CHILDREN THAT I TAKE WITH ME DAILY AND I AM SCARED WHAT WILL HAPPEN IF THEY ARE IN THE CAR WITH ME WHEN THIS HAPPENS. DOES SOMEONE HAVE TO DIE BEFORE YOU PAYS ATTENTION TO THIS ON GOING PROBLEM. I EXPECT TO HEAR FROM SOMEONE SOON BEFORE THIS CAR ACCELERATES AND KILLS SOMEONE
WINDSHIELD GLASS RANDOMLY AND SIGNIFICANTLY CRACKED WITHOUT IMPACT OF ANY KIND.
TRANSMISSION FAILURE. IT IS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH MODELS WITH THEIR ORIGINAL CVT TRANSMISSION, BUT RATHER THAN ISSUE A RECALL, THEY'RE EXTENDING WARRANTIES AND FIXING AS THEY BREAK. THIS LEFT ME WITH NO POWER ON A STATE HIGHWAY THAT HAD SPEED LIMITS OF 75MPH. I MANAGED TO MAKE IT TO THE SHOULDER TO BE STRANDED FOR AN HOUR WAITING FOR A TOW TRUCK. THIS IS EXTREMELY UNSAFE AND IF IT'S A KNOWN ISSUE, I'M NOT SURE WHY THEY'RE NOT PREVENTING THESE SCENARIOS. I WAS GOING ABOUT 70MPH IN THE CENTER LANE OF A 3 LANE HIGHWAY WHEN SUDDENLY MY CAR JERKED AND THEN WOULDNT ACCELERATE.
