Tesla driver seat bolster hurts my bottom after 10/15 mins of driving. The seat cushion behind the bolster to the back sinks so low; and fails to keep me lifted. As a result, eventually after driving 10/15 mins bolster starts hitting my bottom and it starts to pain; and also numbs my legs. At this point, I have to take a break, get out stress and start driving. I have driven many cars upto 500+ miles in a single day no issues. Having a comfortable seat is a basic requirement in any car. I have reported this issue many times to various Tesla Service Centers. The seats installed in my cars seems to launched very pre-maturely without proper testing. There are many complaints online forums on this bolster pain and how badly it hurts. Tesla wants me to pay for the seat and no guarantee that the new seat will not such issues. If the installed seat itself is defective, why should I been paying for another defective one. Tesla is not willing to own the issue. I have done upgrades and paid alot of taxes so not willing to sell and buy another car and pay taxes again. I want to report this issue as I foresee safety issues with this car and similar many other cars; and how Tesla is not doing their basic customer service and offering bad products at very high price.
2017 TESLA MODEL S STARTED TO ACCELERATE ON ITS OWN OVER 100 MPH, WHEN TRAVELING ON HIGHWAY AROUND 70 MPH, WITHOUT AUTOPILOT ENGAGED. AS SOON AS IT STARTED TO ACCELERATE, THE CAR TOOK CONTROL OVER THE STEERING WHEEL AND DROVE INTO THE GUARDRAIL ON THE LEFT OF THE LANE, THEN QUICKLY STEERED TO THE RIGHT LANES AND STEERED TO THE LEFT AGAIN. SLAMMED ON THE BRAKE BUT DID NOT WORK AT ALL, AND STEERING WHEEL DID NOT RESPOND. THE CAR COMPLETELY TOOK CONTROL OVER TRAVELING OVER 100 MPH GOING ZIG-ZAG ON THREE LANE HIGHWAY, FINALLY CAME TO A STOP AFTER HITTING NUMBER OF TREES IN THE WOODS ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY. THE CAR IS COMPLETELY TOTALED.

I GOT IT IN MAR OF 2017 SO IT HASN'T EVEN BEEN 2 YEARS. I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY IN THE FAST LANE AND ABOUT TO GET INTO THE CARPOOL LANE WHEN TRAFFIC SUDDENLY CAME TO A HALT. I SLAMMED ON MY BRAKES AND THEN STARTED TO DRIVE AGAIN BUT REALIZED I COULDN'T. THE CAR SHOOK AND THERE WAS A LOUD SCREECHING/GRINDING SOUND. LUCKILY A MOTORCYCLE COP HAPPENED TO COME BY AND CALLED HIGHWAY PATROL AND THE FREEWAY TOW TRUCK SO HELP GET ME OUT OF THE FAST LANE AND ACROSS 3 LANES TO THE RIGHT SHOULDER. THEN, I CALLED TESLA ROADSIDE TO GET TOWED INTO THE DEALERSHIP. THE SERVICE GUY DID NOT SEEM SURPRISED AND DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM RIGHT AWAY ON SEEING THE CAR. THE LEFT FRONT FORE LINK IN THE SUSPENSION BROKE. IF THIS WAS A KNOWN ISSUE, I'M WONDERING WHY THERE HASN'T BEEN A RECALL. WHAT IF I WAS DRIVING WITH MY 2 KIDS? THE CAR IS STILL IN THE SHOP NOW BEING REPAIRED. EVEN AFTER THE REPAIR, IS IT SAFE TO BE DRIVING A TESLA? WOULD YOU GUYS CHANCE IT WITH YOUR KIDS IN THE CAR AND RISK THAT HAPPENING ON THE FREEWAY? OUR TESLA HAS HAD TWO INCIDENTS IN THE LAST THREE MONTHS OF UNCONTROLLABLE ACCELERATION....ONCE SLOWLY GOING INTO A PARKING PLACE AND ONCE BACKING OUT OF OUR GARAGE. THE FIRST ONE RESULTED IN A COUPLE OF CRACKED RIBS (WITH SEATBELT ON) AND $18,000 IN DAMAGE. THE SECOND INCIDENT: THE TESLA, WHEN BACKING UP WENT TOTALLY OUT OF CONTROL BY ACCELERATING AND IT BARRELED ACROSS THE STREET AND KNOCKING DOWN A TREE BEFORE COMING TO A STOP. THE TESLA IS NOW IN THE REPAIR SHOP WITH EXTENSIVE DAMAGE TO THE REAR OF THE CAR. NOT SURE YET OF THE DOLLAR AMOUNT. I FEEL THIS IS A SERIOUS DEFECT IN THE TESLA MODEL S.

HE WAS UNHAPPY ABOUT THE FACT THAT THE SUSPENSION FELL APART IN HIS DRIVEWAY. THE PHOTOGRAPH SHOWS THE CONTROL ARM SNAPPED AND THIS SAME FAILURE CAN BE SEEN TO HAVE OCCURRED ON MANY OTHER TESLAS. IT IS HIGHLY UNLIKELY THAT THE OWNER WILL BE FILING A COMPLAINT. HE IS ONE OF THE TOP TESLA REFERRERS AND IS CLOSE TO EARNING REWARDS FROM TESLA. THE SECOND ATTACHED SCREENSHOT PROVES THIS. THESE FRAGILE SUSPENSION PARTS POSE A RISK TO OWNERS AND OTHER ROAD USERS. STEERING WOULD BE BADLY AFFECTED BY SUCH A FAILURE. MANY TESLAS HAVE SUDDENLY SWERVED OFF THE ROAD WITH FATAL CONSEQUENCES. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 TESLA MODEL S. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE GLASS ROOF OF THE VEHICLE WAS CRACKED ALL THE WAY TO THE POWER LIFTGATE. THERE WERE NO SENSORS WHERE THE GLASS MET THE GLASS ROOF, WHICH CAUSED A POSSIBLE HAZARD FOR THE VEHICLE OCCUPANTS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO TESLA (115 KISCO AVE, MT KISCO, NY 10549, (914) 218-8900) AND THEY STATED THAT THEY WOULD NOT COVER THE REPAIRS. THE DEALER ADMITTED THAT THERE THERE WAS A SAFETY HAZARD REGARDING THE LIFTGATE AUTOMATICALLY CLOSING, WHICH COULD SEVER A HAND OR FINGER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 18,350.
WITH THE CURRENT RELEASE V9, IN A SPECIFIC LOCATION, UNDER AUTOPILOT THE VEHICLE ATTEMPTS TO SUDDENLY VEER OFF THE ROAD TO THE RIGHT, IN A VIOLENT ACTION. MANUALLY CORRECTING CAUSES AUTOSTEER TO DISENGAGE BUT CRUISE CONTROL REMAINS ON EXASSERBATING THE SITUATION. CONDITIONS: 2 LANE HIGHWAY, TRAVELING AT 45 MPH. PAINTED CENTER LINE JOGS SLIGHTLY TO ACCOMMODATE CENTER TURNING LANE. TRAVELLED THIS ROAD SAFELY ON AUTOPILOT FOR OVER A YEAR WITHOUT INCIDENT. NOW IT HAPPENS EVERYTIME. ATTEMPTS TO CONTACT TESLA, THUS FAR HAVE RESULTED IN NO RESPONSE.
ON OCTOBER 18TH, MY TESLA WAS A MINOR FENDER BENDER . I WAS ON AUTO PILOT AND GOING ON A < 3 MPH SPEED BEFORE THE EXIT RAMP. ANOTHER CAR WAS STATIONED IN FRONT OF ME AND AUTOPILOT DID NOT REALIZE THE CAR CAME IN FRONT OF ME AND HIT THE OTHER CAR. THOUGH THE DAMAGES ARE MINIMAL & THE OTHER PERSON WAIVED HIS RIGHT TO CLAIM INSURANCE . I WANTED TO UNDERSTAND THE REASON AND THE ROOT CAUSE OF THE CURRENT ACCIDENT SO THAT I CAN BE CONFIDENT TO USE THE AUTO PILOT GOING FORWARD. HENCE I FILED A COMPLAINT WITH THE CUSTOMER SUPPORT. AFTER 4 WEEKS OF INVESTIGATION AND REPEATED NUDGING FROM MY SIDE TO EXPEDITE THE INVESTIGATION, I WAS TOLD THAT THE CAR WAS IN AUTO PILOT MODE, AND THE CAR DID NOT REALIZE THE OTHER CAR IN FRONT UNTIL THE ACCIDENT OCCURRED AND THE CAR DID APPLY BRAKES AFTER THE INCIDENT. I WAS DRIVING THROUGH AN EXIT RAMP AND I FELT SOMETHING BREAK ON THE VEHICLE AND THEN WHEN I TRIED TO TURN THE VEHICLE, IT CONTINUED TO PUSH STRAIGHT. AFTER FURTHER REVIEW, THE REAR TOE ARM OF THE DRIVERS SIDE REAR SUSPENSION BROKE. THIS FAILURE CAUSED THE REAR WHEEL TO BE ABLE TO TURN LEFT AND RIGHT.

I WAS MAKING A LEGAL U TURN ON A CITY STREET TO PARK. I PULLED BEHIND A PARKED CAR AND WAS GOING ABOUT 1MPH WHEN MY CAR SUDDENLY ACCELERATED AND HIT THE PARKED CAR. THERE WERE NO WARNING SOUNDS UNTIL THE CAR HIT THE OTHER CAR AND THEN THE HORN AND LIGHTS ON MY CAR WENT OFF. THE CAR WAS NOT ON AUTO PARK AND NO AIR BAGS WERE DEPLOYED HOWEVER MY CAR AND THE CAR THAT WAS HIT HAD EXTENSIVE BODY DAMAGE. THERE WERE NOT INJURIES TO PEOPLE. I DON'T KNOW WHY THE CAR ACCELERATED INSTEAD OF STOPPING. I HAVE NEVER HIT THE ACCELERATOR PEDDLE INSTEAD OF THE BRAKE AND I DOUBT IF I DID IT IN THIS CASE.

STOPPED AT A BUSY CITY STREET INTERSECTION FOR AROUND 2 MINUTES WAITING FOR THE GREEN LIGHT. MY CAR WAS SECOND CAR FROM THE INTERSECTION ON A SLIGHT UP SLOPE. OBVIOUSLY THE BRAKE WAS FULLY ENGAGED BUT MY CAR SUDDENLY CREEPS UP SLOPE AND GENTLY BUMPS INTO THE CAR IN THE FRONT. THIS IMPACT PUSHES THE OTHER CAR FORWARD AND MY CAR ROLLS BACK. THE FORWARD COLLISION ALARM WENT OFF BUT I COULD DO LITTLE TO STOP THE CAR OTHER THAN TRY AND PRESS ON THE BRAKE EVEN HARDER. THE CAR AGAIN ROLLS UP AGAIN AND GENTLY BUMPS THE OTHER CAR AGAIN. AGAIN THE COLLISION WARNING WENT OFF BUT I FELT I HAD NO CONTROL OVER THE CAR. I COULD FINALLY GET THE CONTROL BACK AFTER THAT. LUCKILY THERE WERE NO PEDESTRIANS AND CROSS TRAFFIC HAD ALREADY STOPPED. PLEASE NOTE THAT THERE WAS LITTLE OR NO DAMAGE TO EITHER CAR. THE CAR SEEMED TO HAVE A MIND OF IT'S OWN! WHILE PULLING INTO A PARKING SPOT AT A BUSY SHOPPING CENTER, AND APPLYING THE BRAKE PEDAL (HAVING MOVED IT OVER FROM ACCELERATOR) TO STOP THE CAR AT ABOUT 5 MPH, THE MODEL S SUDDENLY LURCHED FORWARD AT FULL ACCELERATION HITTING NOT 1 BUT 2 PARKED CARS. NOTHING WOULD STOP THE CAR AS IT TOOK OVER AND WENT FORWARD WITH BOTH MY FEET PRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL AS HARD AS I COULD. FINALLY IT STOPPED AFTER HITTING A SECOND PARKED CAR. TESLA HAS NOT RESPONDED, DESPITE 2 DAYS OF EMAILS AND CALLS.

A TESLA OWNER IN ENGLAND HAS JUST POSTED ON THE TESLA MOTORS CLUB FORUM THAT THE BOLTS SNAPPED ON HIS FRONT SUSPENSION AND THE CAR FELL TO THE GROUND. THE THREAD HAS NOW BEEN DELETED FROM THE FORUM BUT I HAVE RECOVERED IT FROM GOOGLE CACHE. SNAPSHOTS OF THE THREAD AND IMAGES OF THE BROKEN BOLTS ARE ATTACHED. IT IS A CERTAINTY THAT THERE IS A BAD BATCH OF SUSPENSION BOLTS THAT ARE SNAPPING WITHOUT ANY GOOD REASON. THE ALLOY SUSPENSION PARTS AND/OR THE ALLOY WHEEL WOULD BE EXPECTED TO FAIL BEFORE A CRITICAL STEEL BOLT DOES. ON MONDAY MORNING(29.01.18) MY TESLA BROKE DOWN. THE DRIVER'S SIDE REAR TYRE DISLODGED FROM THE SUSPENSION WHILE I WAS REVERSING INTO MY BAY. THE ISSUES BEGAN FROM THIS POINT 1 AT ONLY 4526 MILES AND 122 DAYS OF AGE, ENDING UP WITH 3 WHEELS IS SIMPLY UNACCEPTABLE. 2 THEN ENSUED THE CONFUSION: I HAD TAKEN BREAKDOWN COVER FROM MY INSURANCE COMPANY INCLUSIVE OF COURTESY CAR. THIS WAS DESPITE THE SALES PITCH RECOMMENDING TESLA ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE. THE MOMENT I CALLED TESLA IT WAS A CASE OF FIGHTING WITH THEM REGARDING WHOSE FAULT IT WAS RATHER THAN WHAT HAPPENS NEXT. THEY QUICKLY PICKED UP THE CAR AND HAVE DELIVERED THE SAME TOTESLA MANCHESTER SOUTH, WHERE I HAD PURCHASED IT. TESLA MODEL S 2017 SUDDEN UNINTENDED ACCELERATION- 1/18/2018, MORNING 9:05 AM. I WAS PULLING IN TO MY OFFICE PARKING SPOT WHERE I PARKED FOR 6 YEARS, I LET THE CAR SLOW TO ROLL CLOSER IN FRONT OF THE CURB. ALL OF A SUDDEN THE CAR ACCELERATED, GOT ON THE CURB, HIT THE OFFICE BUILDING. THE CAR WAS STILL GOING UNTIL I APPLIED THE BRAKE. THE ACCELERATION POINT WAS RIGHT BEFORE THE CURB, MEASURING FROM THE POINT TO THE WALL IS ONLY 7 FEET. TESLA SAID I WAS ON THE PEDAL FOR A SECOND LONG, I APPLIED PEDAL FROM 0-18%, AND QUICKLY APPLIED THE BRAKE. IF I APPLIED THE PEDAL, I WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO APPLY MY BRAKE IN A SPLIT SECOND. IT THEN HIT AND BROKE THE WALL BETWEEN OUR GARAGE AND COURTYARD, BROKE AND PUSHED OUR CONCRETE PLANTER AND STOPPED HALFWAY BETWEEN THE GARAGE AND OUR FAMILY ROOM WINDOWS IN THE COURTYARD.I FIRMLY BELIEVE THAT THIS WAS THE RESULT OF UNINTENDED ACCELERATION. I GOT IN MY CAR ON 1/12/2018 AROUND 430PM PST AND WHEN I PUT THE CAR IN REVERSE THE BACKUP CAMERA PICTURE WAS A FROZEN PICTURE FROM AN EARLIER TIME, IT WAS NOT LIVE. I AM CERTAIN OF THIS BECAUSE IT WAS SHOWING MY GARAGE DOOR AS CLOSED, WHEN IT WAS IN FACT OPEN. I REBOOTED THE CAR AND THAT SEEMED TO FIX IT. THIS IS INCREDIBLY DANGEROUS. THE FAILURE MODE FOR THE CAMERA SHOULD BE TO SHOW NO PICTURE, NOT AN OLD ONE. THE CAR IS FEEING THE DRIVER FALSE VISUAL INFORMATION THAT COULD RESULT IN INJURY OR DEATH.

IT SEEMS UNLIKELY THAT THE WHEEL COULD HAVE WITHSTOOD AN IMPACT HARD ENOUGH TO CAUSE THE SUSPENSION TO BE DAMAGED SUFFICIENTLY TO SKEW THE WHEEL SIDEWAYS IN THE MANNER SHOWN IN THE PHOTOGRAPHS. IT SEEMS HIGHLY LIKELY THAT IT WAS THE COLLAPSE OF THE SUSPENSION AT THE FRONT AND REAR WHICH CAUSED THE TESLA TO SUDDENLY SLOW DOWN AND THEN GET HIT BY A FOLLOWING VEHICLE. THERE HAVE BEEN DOZENS OF CASES IN WHICH THE TESLA SUSPENSION HAS COLLAPSED CAUSING UNEXPECTED SUDDEN DECELERATION AND LOSS OF CONTROL. THE CAR FAILED TO COME OUT OF THE ENHANCED AUTOPILOT MODE, EVEN AFTER PRESSING THE BRAKE PEDALS, AND WENT STRAIGHT THROUGH A RED LIGHT, CAUSING A COLLISION RESULTING IN TOTAL LOSS OF BOTH VEHICLES. I BELIEVE THE 'SELF DRIVING MODE', OR THE ENHANCED AUTOPILOT MODE WAS DEFECTIVE. WE WOULD LIKE TO GET THE VEHICLE DATA PERTAINING TO EVENTS JUST BEFORE THE CRASH, BUT TESLA WOULD NOT GIVE IT WITHOUT A COURT ORDER. EVEN BEFORE THIS INCIDENT I HAD NOTICED THAT ENHANCED AUTOPILOT MODE MADE DANGEROUS MOVES ON HIGHWAY. AT ONE INSTANCE, I WAS DRIVING IN THE RIGHTMOST LANE (IN THE ENHANCED AUTOPILOT MODE), AND A DRIVER TRYING TO MERGE IN THE HIGHWAY WAS NOT WILLING TO SLOW DOWN, BUT NEITHER DID THE TESLA, AND I HAD TO BRAKE TO AVOID THE COLLISION. THE AUTOPILOT DID NOT DETECT THE OTHER CAR THAT WAS RAPIDLY CLOSING IN TO THE TESLA.

WE WERE IN A PARKING LOT OF "KIDQUEST MUSEUM" IN BELLEVUE , WA. , TAKING OUR GRAND DAUGHTER, ONE YEAR OLD, TO THE MUSEUM. OUR CAR WAS IN STATIONARY POSITION.
