TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 TOYOTA 4RUNNER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FRAME OF THE VEHICLE WAS RUSTED AND CORRODED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FRAME NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AND THE VEHICLE WAS UNSAFE TO BE DRIVEN. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 62,584.
I AM ASKING FOR YOU TO CANCEL THE SALE OF THE 2006 TOYOTA 4 RUNNER THAT I PURCHASED ON 3/22/2017 AND RETURN MY CASH DEPOSIT OF $2,000 AND REIMBURSE ME FOR THE GAS IT TOOK ME TO DRIVE IT HOME AND THE EXTRA KEY I PURCHASED. THE FACTS ARE BELOW PURCHASED CAR IN BOULDER 3/22/2017 2006 TOYOTA 4 RUNNER RUST DAMAGE / DEALER STATED RUST WAS BECAUSE CAR WAS FROM NY, BUT WOULD NOT GET WORSE AND WAS JUST SUPERFICIAL RUST. PURCHASED CAR AND SET AN APPT. WITH PUEBLO TOYOTA 3/24/2017 TO MOUNT SPARE TIRE AND DO AND INSPECTION TOYOTA COULD NOT MOUNT SPARE TIRE AND STATED VEHICLE WAS IN GOOD CONDITION EXCEPT FOR SEVERE RUST DAMAGE AND MAY COST DOUBLE TO DO REPAIRS IN THE FUTURE BECAUSE OF RUST DAMAGE. TOOK CAR TO PRO-MASTERS ON 3/24/2017 AND THEY INFORMED MY SON THAT THE RUST WAS SEVERE AND THEY WOULD NOT ATTEMPT TO REPAIR, BUT ESTIMATED COSTS TO REPAIR THE REAR END TO BE $6,000 TO $7,000 REVIEWED ON INTERNET AND THERE WERE SEVERAL COMPLAINTS ABOUT RUST DAMAGE ON 4-RUNNERS, TUNDRAS, AND TACOMA?S FROM N.E. STATES. COMMENTS WERE ALSO MADE THAT THE VEHICLE WITH SEVERE RUST DAMAGE COULD BE UNSAFE TO DRIVE. TOOK CAR TO INDIVIDUAL WHO RESTORES CARS AND HE SAID THE RUST WAS SO SEVERE AND CAR WAS NOT WORTH REPAIRING AND UNSAFE AND HE WOULD NOT LET HIS WIFE OR FAMILY DRIVE IT. TOOK CAR TO CUSTOM CARE REPAIR SHOP TO REVIEW RUST AND INSTALL SPARE TIRE AND THEY CONCURRED THAT THE RUST WAS SEVERE AND UNSAFE AND COULD NOT INSTALL SPARE TIRE. I CALLED PRO-MASTERS TO CONFIRM WHAT THEY HAD INSPECTED AND IF I COULD GIVE HIS NAME AND PHONE NUMBER IF ASKED. HE INFORMED ME THAT RUST WAS SO SEVERE THAT IF HE ATTEMPTED TO SECURE SPARE TIRE, THAT THE FRAME HOLDING IT WAS SO THIN HE COULD NOT GUARANTEE IT WOULD NOT FALL OFF & HE INFORMED ME THAT AS THE VEHICLE GETS WET THE FRAME BECOMES WORSE

OHE INFORMED ME THAT RUST WAS SO SEVERE THAT IF HE ATTEMPTED TO SECURE SPARE TIRE, THAT THE FRAME HOLDING IT WAS SO THIN HE COULD NOT GUARANTEE IT WOULD NOT FALL OFF. DRIVING TO WORK ON 3-6-17. IT WAS 34 F AT 8:15 AM. TURNED ON THE REAR WINDOW DEFROSTER ABOUT ONE MILE FROM HOME. DROVE ANOTHER 0.5 MILES AND STOPPED AT RED LIGHT. ABOUT 15 SECONDS INTO THE RED LIGHT MY REAR WINDOW IMPLODED AND FELL INTO THE REAR CARGO AREA. VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY AND NO OTHER VEHICLE STRUCK ME. DROVE BACK HOME AND CLEANED UP THE GLASS AND SAW NO EVIDENCE OF A ROCK OR PELLET OR BULLET WITH THE GLASS OR IN THE VEHICLE. ONLINE DISCUSSIONS INDICATE THE REAR DEFROSTER MAY HAVE OVERHEATED AND SHATTERED GLASS. I HAVE 3 PHOTOS ON FILE IN COMPUTER, BUT NOT IN CORRECT FORMAT. TRIED TO UPLOAD, BUT WAS NOT ABLE TO DO SO.
4RUNNER HAS BEEN GARAGE KEPT, AND THE EXTERIOR LOOKS PERFECT, LOST ALL BRAKE FLUID, MECHANIC PUT ON LIFT AND FOUND LEFT REAR BRAKE LINE RUSTED THROUGH AND THEN POINTED OUT THAT THE FRAME IS SEVERLY RUSTED AND WOULD NOT PASS INSPECTION. TRAILER HITCH, WILL FALL OFF IF I TRY AND USE IT. BOX FRAME IS RUSTED OUT ON THE BOTTOM FROM FRONT OF VEHICLE TO THE VERY BACK. MY WIFES 2000 LEXUS SUV HAS NO RUST ON FRAME AND DRIVES THE SAME COMMUTE EACH DAY AS ME.

TAKATA RECALL ..... AFTER RECEIVING TOYOTA'S OFFICIAL U.S. POSTAL NOTICE, I CALLED MY LOCAL TOYOTA DEALER (AUTONATION ON W SAHARA, LAS VEGAS, NV) TO GET THIS ISSUE FIXED. AFTER NOT HEARING BACK FROM THE PERSON WHO PROMISED TO RETURN MY CALL, I CALLED AGAIN SIX HOURS LATER AND WAS GIVEN SOME B.S. STORY, BUT WAS TOLD IT WAS BEING ORDERED AND WOULD BE AT THE DEALERSHIP THE NEXT DAY. ABOUT AN HOUR LATER, I RECEIVED AN E-MAIL FROM MY DEALER, AUTONATION, THAT I NEED TO CALL THEM TO MAKE AN APPT. TO FIX THE RECALL ISSUE. THE PERSON I SPOKE TO (NOT THE SAME ONE AS EARLIER IN THE DAY) SEEMED TO NOT UNDERSTAND. I REPEATED THE ISSUE (SCENARIO AS WRITTEN ABOVE) TO WHICH THIS WOMAN, AGAIN, DIDN'T COMPREHEND. I TOLD HER I WOULD READ WHAT WAS SENT TO ME ABOUT MAKING AN APPT. AS I WAS READING TO HER WHAT WAS SENT TO ME, SHE HUNG UP ON ME. I THEN CALLED AND ASKED TO SPEAK TO THE GM OF THE DEALERSHIP. I LEFT A MESSAGE FOR HIM TO CALL ME BACK. NO SUCH CALL-BACK HAS HAPPENED. IS THIS A TACTIC THAT'S EMPLOYED ON A REGULAR BASIS? I CONTACTED TOYOTA'S CORPORATE REP AND GAVE THAT PERSON THE ACTIONS I WENT THROUGH. SHE SAID SHE'D FORWARD THIS ISSUE TO THE CUSTOMER RELATIONS PERSON AT THE DEALERSHIP. I, AGAIN, DOUBT I WILL BE CONTACTED. IF I DO, I'M SURE I'LL GET SOME B.S. TO PROTECT THAT EMPLOYEE, AS IS DONE BY POLICE TO PROTECT THEIR OWN. I WANT SOME ACTION AND I'M HOPING THIS MESSAGE WILL FIND ITS WAY TO A SOURCE WHICH WILL LOOK INTO THIS. *TR
1/21/17 APPROX NOON I WAS DRIVING WHEN I BEGAN SMELLING BURNING WIRES. I LOOKED AROUND, THE BACK-HATCH AND CARGO AREA WAS FILLING WITH SMOKE. I PULLED OVER AND OPENED THE BACK-HATCH DOOR AND THE TWO RIGHT PASSENGER DOORS. I BEGAN OPENING THE HOOD WHEN A LOUD EXPLOSION OCCURRED. IT SOUNDED LIKE THE IMPACT OF A TRAFFIC ACCIDENT. I RAN TO THE BACK OF THE VEHICLE. THE BACK-HATCH WINDOW HAD EXPLODED. BROKEN GLASS WAS EVERYWHERE IN THE STREET AND INSIDE THE VEHICLE. IF ANYONE HAD BEEN INSIDE THE VEHICLE OR STANDING BEHIND IT WHEN THIS OCCURRED THE WOULD HAVE BEEN SERIOUSLY INJURED. 1/23/17 I WAS CONTACTED BY SOUTH COAST TOYOTA. TOYOTA'S TECHNICIAN OBSERVED BURNED WIRING AND ELECTRICAL MOTOR IN THE REAR HATCH DOOR ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. APPROXIMATELY 1900 FOR REPAIRS TO REPLACE ECO, MOTOR AND GLASS. I ASKED FOR AND RECEIVED THE CONTACT INFO FOR TOYOTA CORPORATE OFFICE. *TR

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE CONTACT CALLED A DEALER AND AN APPOINTMENT WAS SCHEDULED HOWEVER, THE TECHNICIAN INFORMED THAT THE RECALL REMEDY PARTS WERE ON BACK ORDER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE. ABNORMAL RUSTING OF THE FRAME AND UNDERCARRIAGE.
THIS COMPLAINT IS IN REGARDS TO A 2006 TOYOTA 4RUNNER VEHICLE ID # MILEAGE IS 150.000.THE TOYOTA WAS PURCHASED THIS YEAR FROM ROYAL PALM TOYOTA OF FLORIDA ADDRESS: 9205 SOUTHERN BLVD, ROYAL PALM BEACH, FL 33411. THE VEHICLE WAS IN EXCELLENT SHAPE. ON MY 2006 4RUNNER, I HAVE BEEN NOTICING AN EXCESSIVE AMOUNT OF RUST BUILD-UP ON THE FRAME AND MANY OF THE UNDERCARRIAGE PARTS. THIS 4RUNNER HAS SPENT IT'S WHOLE LIFE IN COLORADO, WE DON'T SEE RUST PROBLEMS HERE. I HAVE NEVER SEEN A VEHICLE HAVE THIS KIND OF RUST. I'M VERY CONCERNED ABOUT THE SAFETY AND INTEGRITY OF IT!
I TOOK MY TOYOTA TACOME 2006 TRUCK TO THE DEALER FROM SPRINGFIELD, VIRGINIA. A FEW WEEKS AGO MY AIR BAG LIGHT CAME UP ON THE FRONT WHERE THE MILEAGE IS.
I CURRENTLY OWN A 2006 TOYOTA FOUR RUNNER THAT IS NOT CURRENTLY INVOLVED IN A TOYOTA RECALL FOR EXCESSIVE RUST. MY VEHICLE IS AT A TOYOTA DEALER, A CLAIM WITH TOYOTA HAS BEEN FILED, AND PICTURES OF DAMAGE ARE BEING TAKEN PER MY CLAIM. I JUST RECEIVED A CALL FROM TOYOTA CORPORATE CLAIMS DEPARTMENT TELLING ME THAT MY TOYOTA IS NOT UNDER RECALL EVEN THOUGH I HAVE EXCESSIVE ROT (NOT RUST) THAT HAS EATEN THROUGH MY VEHICLES REAR CROSSMEMBER. CURRENTLY MY VEHICLE IS UN DRIVABLE DUE TO THIS ISSUE, MY REAR AXLE IS ONLY HELD ONTO THE VEHICLE BY TWO OUT OF THE FOUR ANCHOR POINTS THIS POSING A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN IF THE REAR AXLE BECOMES SEPARATED FROM THE REST OF THE FRAME. THE FRONT TWO MOUNTS (THAT ARE WELDED TO THE REAR CROSSMEMBER) ARE TORN COMPLETELY FROM THE REAR CROSSMEMBER, TOYOTA SAYS THE BODY OF THE TRUCK WILL NEED TO BE REMOVED FROM THE CHASSIS IN ORDER TO SLIDE THE NEW CROSSMEMBER IN BUT THEY REFUSE TO COVER THIS REPAIR. AS I'M SURE YOU'RE AWARE BUT THE 2004-2010 TOYOTA TACOMA ARE CURRENTLY UNDER RECALLS FOR THIS TYPE OF ISSUE AND THE FOUR RUNNER SHARES THIS TYPE OF FRAME, AND MANY OTHER PARTS BECAUSE IT IS ASSEMBLED ON A TACOMA FRAME, BUT BUILT IN JAPAN NOT IN THE US. TOYOTA SAYS THAT THE RECALL ONLY COVERS US MADE VEHICLES AND JAPANESE BUILT UNITS LIKE THE FOUR RUNNER, ARE NOT COVERED. PLEASE ADVISE AS I CURRENTLY OWN A VERY EXPENSIVE LAWN ORNAMENT AT THIS TIME AND WOULD LIKE TO SEE THESE UNITS INTEGRATED INTO THE TACOMA RECALL PROCESS. THANKS FOR YOUR HELP.
NOTHING HAS HAPPENED BUT THERE WAS A RECALL AND THERE IS NO FIX YET
WENT TO THE TOYOTA SHOP AFTER GETTING A NEW TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED, THEY NOTED "CUST NOT FRONT FRAME CORE SUPPORT IS RUSTED OFF FOUND A HOLE IN THE LEFT FRAME RAIL". THEY ALSO HAD TO USE NEW BOLTS FOR TRANSMISSION DUE TO CORROSION ON UNDERCARRIAGE. WOULD NOT PASS INSPECTION UNTIL FIXED. THE FRAME IS WASHED OFF CONTINUOUSLY AFTER BEING EXPOSED TO SALT IN WINTERS.
I HAVE A 2006 TOYOTA 4 RUNNER THAT HAS BEEN DEVELOPING EXCESSIVE RUST FLAKING ON THE REAR AXLE HOUSING,BRAKE COMPONENTS, FRAME AND REAR SUSPENSION COMPONETS.WE HAVE HAD WARRANTY WORK PERFORMED APPROX. 1 YEAR AGO AND THE MECHANICS AT TOYOTA STATED THEY NEEDED TO REPLACE OR REPAIR VARIOUS TRANSMISSION LINES BEFORE THEY WOULD RETURN THE VEHICLE TO MY WIFE. I ASKED THEM WHAT AM I SUPPOSE TO DO ABOUT ALL THE RUST PROBLEMS AND THEY REALLY DIDNT HAVE A ANSWER AND SAID I NEED TO TALK TO THE SERVICE MANAGER THAT WAS NOT THERE AT THE TIME. I HAVE MADE EVERY ATTEMPT TO RADICATE THIS ISSUE THAT HAS BEEN GETTING WORSE OVER TIME. VEHICLE IS GARAGE KEPT AND WAS PURCHASED NEW AS WE ARE THE ONLY OWNER OF THIS VEHICLE. MYSELF AND EVERYONE ELSE KNOW TOYOTA KNOWS ABOUT THIS PROBLEM AND REFUSED TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. NEEDED REPAIR IMMEDIATELY, PASSED STATE INSPECTION EVEN NEEDING THE FOLLOWING REPAIRS, BOTH FRONT AXLES, SERP BELT, SWAY BAR LINK AND REAR BRAKES.08/24/2016 VEHICLE REPAIRED BY SELLING DEALER AND RETURNED WITH FLAT TIRE, I HAD IT TOWED TO TIRE GARAGE BECAUSE SPARE WAS TOO OLD AND INCORRECT SIZE. AFTER I PICKED UP FROM TIRE REPAIR I MADE AN APPOINTMENT FOR AN UNREPAIRED SAFETY RECALL FROM 2012 ON THE ABS AT A LOCAL DEALERSHIP. PRIOR TO SERVICE APPOINTMENT I WAS DRIVING OVER A SPEED BUMP AND THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT DRIVE OVER BUMP, ABS LIGHTS CAME ON AND VEHICLE ROLLED BACKWARDS. HAD TOWED TO TOYOTA DEALER FOR SERVICE(I HAVE RECEIPT FOR TOW) A COUPLE DAYS LATER DEALER SAID RECALL WAS COMPLETED BUT WOULD NOT PROVIDE ANY DOCUMENTATION FOR REPAIRS. THAT DEALERSHIP BROKE A LUG STUD ON THE FRONT TIRE IN BUT DID NOT REPAIR IT. THEY SAID ITS OK TO DRIVE ON 5 LUGS ITS A 6 LUG RIM. I THEN BROUGHT THE VEHICLE TO ANOTHER TOYOTA DEALER FOR REPAIRS BECAUSE THE VEHICLE STARTED ROLLING BACKWARDS ON INCLINES AND NOT ACCELERATING. VERY SCARY BECAUSE I ALMOST ROLLED BACK INTO CARS, ALSO TIRE PRESSURE LIGHT WAS ON BUT ALL TIRES WERE INFLATED. THEY HAD IT FROM 09/12/2016-09/26/2016. UNFORTUNATELY COULD NOT DUPLICATE CONCERN BUT DID REPAIR THE LUG STUD, TIRE PRESSURE SENSOR AND RECALIBRATED THE ABS AND AIRBAG LIGHT(I WAS NOT INFORMED UNTIL PICKED UP ABOUT THE AIRBAG). I ALSO HAD AN OIL CHANGE. VEHICLE HAVING ISSUES AS OF TODAY RIGHT TURNS I HEAR A LOUD CLUNKING SOUND AND WOBBLE WHEN HITTING BUMPS ON HIGHWAY SPEEDS.. THE BALL JOINTS MIGHT BE BAD. I CAN SEE THEM COVERED IN GREASE AND HAVE PLAY. I AM CONCERNED THAT THE VEHICLE IS UNSAFE AND WAS IN AN UNDISCLOSED MAJOR ACCIDENT PRIOR TO PURCHASE. NEXT APP IS NOT UNTIL 10/24. *TR
1.) WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE IS VERY DIFFICULT TO STEER. THE LASTEST INCIDENT OCCURRED WHILE TRAVELING ON THE HIGHWAY. THE WAS CONSTANTLY SWAYING AND PULLING TO DIRECTION FORCING ME TO GRIP THE STEERING WHEEL ; PULLING IT IN OPPOSITE DIRECTION SO TIGHTLY THAT MY WRIST WERE THROBBING. ONCE I EXITED THE HIGHWAY AND CAME TO A STOP, THE STEERING WHEEL TURNED ALMOST 180 DEGREES BY ITSELF. I TOOK IT TO A SEARS SERVICE CENTER AND THE MECHANIC COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG. PRIOR TO MY ROAD TRIP, I HAD MY VEHICLE CHECKED OUT AND NOTHING WAS FOUND OUT OF SORTS. THIS AS OCCURRED ON SEVERAL OTHER OCCASIONS. 2.) MY VEHICLE WILL LOSE POWER IF THE KEY IS LEFT IN THE IGNITION FOR A BRIEF PERIOD OF TIME WITHOUT THE VEHICLE BEING STARTED. I AM THE ORIGINAL OWNER OF THIS VEHICLE AND HAVE KEPT THIS VEHICLE IN EXCELLENT CONDITION. I HAVE SPENT LOTS OF MONEY ON ROUTINE MAINTENANCE OF THIS VEHICLE AS WELL AS MORE INVOLVED TUNE-UPS. I HAVE ALSO WASHED THIS VEHICLE REGULARLY INCLUDING THE UNDERSIDE OF THIS VEHICLE, ESPECIALLY DURING THE WINTER MONTHS TO CLEAN OFF ROAD SALT. The Frame and Suspension Components of the vehicle have corroded or rusted badly and prematurely even though the rest of the vehicle is in excellent condition. This is a known and common occurrence with the 4th Generation Toyota 4Runner Vehicles such as this 2006 model. - Currently the upper Rear Differential Stabilizer Arm has completely rusted off causing handling problems with the vehicle. Many areas of the frame are rusted through making it difficult to jack up or raise the vehicle on a hoist. - Problem has been observed and reported by Dealer(s) and Independent Shops I have visited. - This has NOT as yet been inspected by manufacturer representatives other than dealers. - This first appeared in late 2012 when I purchased the vehicle used with approx. 75,000 miles. - In May 2015 I struck a deer with the vehicle travelling on a US Trunk Hwy and the rust problem was reported as being severe by the body shop who repaired the front end damage. Note: The corrosion, in my opinion, did NOT cause the accident with the deer.

MECHANIC HAS INDICATED THAT THIS RESULTED FROM A FAILURE OF THE AIR INJECTION PUMP AND AIR VALVE, WHICH APPARENTLY FOR SOME REASON TURNS OFF TRACTION CONTROL. THIS IS A COMMON ENOUGH PROBLEM ON TUNDRAS AND SEQUOIAS THAT THERE IS AN "EXTENDED WARRANTY" OFFERED ON THESE VEHICLES. AS I AM CLEANING UP THE GLASS ON THE GROUND IN FRONT OF MY CHILD'S PRE-SCHOOL I SMELT SOMETHING BURNING IN THE REAR WINDOW IN THE INSIDE. TURNS OUT MY ELECTRICAL UNIT THAT POWERS MY DEFROSTING HEATER IN THE REAR WINDOW WAS TOTALLY BURNED UP. THE GLASS REPAIR SHOP THAT REPLACED MY WINDOW SO I COULD AT LEAST DRIVE MY CAR SAID THIS COULD HAVE BEEN EXTREMELY WORST AS THERE LOOKED TO BE A SMALL FIRE IN THE BACK PANELING WITHIN THOSE WIRES (THE CONNECTORS WERE FRIED). I JUST BOUGHT MY CAR IN MARCH, LESS THAN A YEAR AGO, SO THIS IS EXTREMELY IRRITATING AND SCARY. THE 4RUNNER FRAME HAS EXPERIENCED EXCESSIVE AND PREMATURE RUST AND CORROSION. I WAS TOLD BY THE TOYOTA DEALERSHIP THAT THEY CONSIDER THIS VEHICLE UNSAFE TO DRIVE DUE TO HOLES AND RUST IN THE FRAME, AND THEY REFUSED TO DO ANY MAINTENANCE, INSPECTION, OR FURTHER UPKEEP OF THE VEHICLE. I HAVE KEPT MY VEHICLE IN EXCELLENT CONDITION WITH REGULAR MAINTENANCE THROUGH THE YEARS, COMPLETED BY A TOYOTA DEALERSHIP. THE 4RUNNER SHOULD HAVE BEEN INCLUDED IN THE OTHER TOYOTA RUSTED FRAME RECALLS, SINCE IT IS BUILT ON A TACOMA FRAME. THE PROBLEM WAS FIRST NOTED SEVERAL YEARS AGO AND HAS GOTTEN EXCEEDINGLY WORSE.

TOYOTA MUST NOT HAVE USED A SUFFIENTLY HARD ENOUGH METAL OR DID NOT TREAT THE METAL WITH THE PROPER FINISH FOR FRAME TO BREAK AT SUCH AN EARLY MILEAGE. THE SECONDARY AIR INDUCTION PUMP (AIP) AND SWITCHING VALVES FAILED ON MY 2006 4RUNNER LIMITED WITH V8. THIS IS THE SAME ISSUE THAT IS SEEN ON TOYOTA SEQUOIAS AND TUNDRAS. TOYOTA HAS ISSUED A SPECIAL EXTENDED WARRANTY FOR THIS SYSTEM ON THOSE VEHICLES, BUT NOT ON THE 4 RUNNERS, EVEN THOUGH THE DEFECTIVE SYSTEMS / PARTS ARE THE SAME. TOYOTA CUSTOMER CASE # 1409160408. THIS IS A > $2000 REPAIR TO BASICALLY CLEAR THE CHECK ENGINE CODE AND ALLOW ME TO PASS STATE INSPECTION. I BELIEVE THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL ON THIS SYSTEM OR AT LEAST HAVE TOYOTA COVER ALL VEHICLES WITH THIS DEFECTIVE SYSTEM, NOT JUST CERTAIN HIGHER-VOLUME MODEL YEARS. *TR
DRIVING APPROX 40 MPH TOWARDS HOME AND REAR WINDOW EXPLODED, SHATTERED GLASS ALL OVER. IT SOUNDED LIKE AN M80 IN THE BACK OF MY TRUCK. HAD WINDOW REPAIR GUYS COME AND THEY SHOWED ME DEFROSTER CONNECTORS WERE BURNT OUT. I DID HAVE DEFROSTER SETTING ON AT THE TIME OF INCIDENT. I CALLED TOYOTA BUT THEY WOULDN'T DO ANYTHING TO ASSIST. MY CONCERN WAS IF MY DOGS WERE IN THE BACK, AS WE USUALLY TAKE THEM TO THE PARK, THEY COULD HAVE BEEN SERIOUSLY INJURED. I DID HAVE A MAJOR ANXIETY ATTACK. IF THIS HAPPENED ON THE HIGHWAY IT COULD HAVE EASILY CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. *TR
