WHILE APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH WITH THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS ACTIVATED, THE HEADLIGHTS FAILED TO ILLUMINATE WITHIN 20 FEET OF THE ROAD. THE HIGH BEAM HEADLIGHTS WERE ENGAGED IN ORDER TO CONTINUE DRIVING. THE FAILURE RECURRED WHILE DRIVING AT ANY GIVEN SPEED AT NIGHT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHO WAS UNABLE TO DETECT A PROBLEM. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 20,000.
