BRIDGESTONE POTENZA RE-92 P215-60R16 M&S. THIS TIRE HAS BEEN MISTAKENLY CLASSIFIED AS A MUD & SNOW TIRE. IN MY 35 YEARS OF DRIVING, I HAVE NEVER DRIVEN ON SUCH A DANGEROUS TIRE THAT WAS CLASSIFIED M&S. ANY SNOW WHATSOEVER MAKES THE VEHICLE(2004 TOYOTA SOLARA SE) EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO CONTROL SAFELY. I HAVE NO PROBLEM WITH THE TIRE BEING USED SOLELY AS A NON-WINTER TIRE, BUT FOR NHTSA TO ALLOW THE M&S DESIGNATION ON THIS TIRE IS TANTAMOUNT TO GROSS NEGLIGENCE. VEHICLE VIBRATED WHEN DRIVEN ON A FREEWAY OR OVER A ROUGH ROAD. VEHICLE WAS TEST DRIVEN BY 3 FACTORY REPRESENTATIVES BEFORE THE THIRD SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE INDICATED THAT VIBRATION WAS NORMAL FOR THE VEHICLE BECAUSE OF THE WAY THE SUSPENSION SYSTEM WAS DESIGNED, AND COULD NOT BE CORRECTED.*AK
I OWN A 2004 CAMRY SE WITH THE 3.3 LITER V6. EVER SINCE WE PURCHASED THIS CAR WE HAVE PUT UP WITH A TERRIBLE HESITATION IN THROTTLE RESPONSE. MANY TIMES WE HAVE NEARLY BEEN HIT BY OTHER CARS WHILE PULLING INTO THE FLOW OF TRAFFIC. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND SPOKEN WITH THE MANAGER AS WELL AS MET WITH THE REGIONAL TOYOTA REP. THEY BOTH ACKNOWLEDGED THAT THIS IS AN ISSUE BUT OFFERED NO RESOLUTION. *NM

THE NEW MODEL YEAR 03 AND 04 TOYOTA CAMRY SEDANS, SIENNA MINI VANS HAVE POORLY DESIGNED AND OR MIS-ADJUSTED HEADLIGHTS CAUSING BLINDING GLARE TO ON COMING DRIVERS OR DRIVERS IN FRONT OF THESE VEHICLES. THE EXCESSIVELY GLARING LIGHT CAUSED EYE PAIN TO OTHER DRIVERS AND TEMPORARY BLINDNESS. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY PROBLEM THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED. I OWN A 2004 TOYOTA SOLARA AND FORM FORUMS I BEEN GOING TO 3 OUT OF 5 OWNERS SEEMS TO HAVE THE SAME ISSUE WHICH IS THAT THE NEW CARS SEEM TO PULL TO THE LEFT WHEN EVER SPEEDING UP ALSO THE TIRE PRESSURE INDICATOR KEEPS GOING OFF... SO FAR TOYOTA DEALERSHIPS HAVEN'T BEEN ABLE TO FIND OUT BUT FROM WHAT I KNOW ONE OF THE OWNERS OF A 2004 SOLARA HAS BEEN ABLE TO DETECT THE PROBLEM WHICH IS THAT THE PROBLEM RESIDES IN THE SPRING PRESSURE (OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT). THEY BASICALLY NEED TO ROTATE THE SPRINGS SEATING IN THE PERCH ABOUT A QUARTER INCH TO FIX THE PROBLEM. THAT WAY IT WOULD STOP THE CAR FROM PULLING TO THE LEFT AND ALSO NOT CAUSING THE LIGHT INDICATOR TO GO OFF.... *CB
CAR PULLS TO THE LEFT. WHEN DRIVING, THE CAR DRIFTS TO THE LEFT. THE PROBLEM IS WORSE AT FREEWAY SPEEDS. TOOK TO THE DEALER AND THEY CLAIM THERE IS NO PROBLEM, JUST "MINOR ROAD VARIATIONS".*AK
I HAVE A 2004 V6 CAMRY. THE CAR HAS NO CLUES AS TO WHICH GEAR IT IS SUPPOSED TO BE IN. HALF OF THE TIME YOU CAN PUT YOUR FOOT ON THE GAS AND IT WILL GO AND HALF THE TIME IT WILL NOT. I HAVE ALMOST GOTTEN HIT SEVERAL TIMES CHANGING LANES OR PULLING OUT DUE TO THE CAR BEING STUCK IN GEARS. THE SHIFTING BETWEEN 2 AND 3 WILL JERK YOUR NECK. IT HAS BEEN TO THE DEALERSHIPS OVER FOUR TIMES AND EVERYTIME I AM TOLD THAT THIS IS A CHARTERISTIC OF THE CAR. I WENT LAST WEEK...THE GENERAL MANAGER TOLD ME HE FELT THE JERKS IN THE TRANSMISSION AND PROCEEDED TO CALL TOYOTA TO FIND OUT HOW TO FIX IT.30 MINUTES LATER I WAS TOLD THAT I AM ON MY OWN WITH IT. ANOTHER DEALERSHIP TOLD ME TOYOTA HAS HAD THEM REPLACING 02 SENSORS AND MANY OTHER USELESS IDEAS TRYING TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. THIS ISSUE IS ON EVERY SINGLE COMPLAINT WEBSITE (INCLUDING THIS ONE) AND I WANT TO KNOW IF SOMEONE HAS TO BE KILLED BEFORE TOYOTA IS MADE TO CORRECT THEIR MISTAKES? THE BRAKES ARE THE SECOND ISSUE...THEY DO NOT WORK!! THEY HAVE BEEN REPORTED OVER AND OVER AND NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE. I HAVE CAME WITHIN INCHES OF HITTING THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME SEVERAL TIMES DUE TO THE BRAKES BEING SMASHED ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR AND THE CAR JUST NOT STOPPING.*AK
TWO WEEKS AGO WE PURCHASED A NEW 2004 TOYOTA SOLARA SLE V6. IT HAS FROM THE DATE OF PURCHASE DRIFTED TO THE LEFT. TODAY 12-29-2004 I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER (RIGHT TOYOTA OF SCOTTSDALE, ARIZONA) TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. THEY SAID THEY REVERSE MOUNT AND BALANCED THE LEFT FRONT TIRE (PER TSB ST005-01). IT DROVE SOMEWHAT BETTER BUT WHEN I GOT HOME AND CHECKED THE TIRE PRESSURE AFTER SEVERAL HOURS IN THE GARAGE I FOUND THE LEFT FRONT TIRE AT 37+PSI WELL ABOVE THE REQUIRED 32 AND 4.5 HIGHER THEN THE RIGHT FRONT.*AK
THE CAR HAS PULLED OR VEERED TO THE LEFT SINCE PURCHASE ON 12/12/2003. THE CAR HAS BEEN ALIGNED TWICE AND THE TIRES ROTATED TWICE BUT THE CAR STILL PULLS TO THE LEFT. THIS IS A SAFETY PROBLEM SINCE THE CAR PULLS INTO INCOMING TRAFFIC. THE TIRES WILL BEGIN TO WEAR UNEVENLY.*AK
WHEN THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTS FROM 1ST TO 2ND GEAR, AT A FASTER ENGINE SPEED OF ABOUT 2,800 TO 3,000 RPM, THERE IS A ROUGH SPOT OR ROUGH NOISE. WHEN THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTS FROM 1ST TO 2ND GEAR AT LOWER ENGINE SPEEDS A NOISE IS NOT NOTICEABLE. FOR A LONG TIME I THOUGHT THE NOISE WAS FROM ROUGH SPOTS IN THE ROADWAY, BUT THE NOISE KEPT OCCURRING ON SMOOTH PAVEMENT. THERE IS A DEFINITE DEFECT IN THE TRANSMISSION.*AK
2004 TOYOTA SOLARA - PULLS TO THE LEFT AND CANNOT BE ALIGNED. SAFETY HAZARD PROBLEM. MUST HOLD ONTO STEERING WHEEL TIGHT OR VEHICLE GOES LEFT. DEALERSHIP AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM BUT CANNOT FIX IT. HAS HAD MANY PROBLEMS WITH THIS TYPE OF VEHICLE. WHAT WILL HAPPEN ON ICY/SNOW COVERED ROADS? NEEDS TO BE RECALLED. *LA
MY 2004 TOYOTA CAMRY HAS BEEN IN THE TOYOTA DEALERSHIP SERVICE DEPARTMENT MANY TIMES NOW FOR VEHICLE PULLING THE THE LEFT, AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STAYING ON. WHEN DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE OR ON SIDE ROADS ALL MY INSTRUMENT PANEL ICONS WILL LIGHT UP, THEN START GOING OUT ONE BY ONE WITH THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT GOING OUT. THE COMPUTER CODES WERE PULLED WITH SENSORS BEING REPLACED. THE COMPUTER WAS REPLACED AS WELL. I STILL HAVE A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WITH ALL ICONS POPING ON AND OFF. THIS STARTED FROM THE SECOND DAY OF OWNERSHIP. I'VE REQUESTED TOYOTA GIVE ME A TRADE IN AND IT WAS DENIGHED. I'VE MAILED IN A LETTER SHOWING THE HISTORY PRINT OUT FROM THE DEALERSHIP. I'M AT THE END OF MY ROPE HERE AND I FEEL I HAVE A UNSAFE VEHICLE. I'M NOT WANTING MY WIFE OR SON TO DRIVE THIS VEHICLE AS WELL. HOW DO I KNOW THE AIR BAG OR SOMETHING ELASE WILL DEPLOY?*AK

I BOUGHT A 04 CAMRY LE IN NOV.03 BUT FOUND IT KEPT PULLING TO LEFT. SINCE THEN I HAVE BROUGHT IT TO DEALERSHIP TWICE FOR FIX. THE FIRST TIME, THEY SAID IT IS OUT OF ALIGNMENT AND ALIGNED ALL 4 WHEELS. BUT IT STILL PULLED. THE SECOND TIME THEY CROSS ROTATED TWO TIRES AND SLIGHTLY ADJUSTED THE TOE(AS THEY TOLD ME). THIS TIME IT IS SLIGHTLY IMPROVED. HOWEVER, I FOUND THE STEERING IS NOT SYMMETRICAL, I.E. TURNING LEFT AND TURNING RIGHT GIVE ME DIFFERENT FEELING. SO I GUESS THE FIX THEY DID WAS NOT THE RIGHT FIX. THEY JUST TRIED TO COMPENSATE THE LEFT PULL BY PLAYING WITH THE TOE ANGLES. IT STILL PULLS! RECENTLY I NOTICED MANY CAMRY OWNERS HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. SOME OF THEM ACTUALLY HAD THE PROBLEM FIXED BY A SO-CALLED "ROTATING UPPER SPRING INSULATOR BY 25MM CCW" MEOTHD. AND THE PROBLEM IS BECUASE OF AN ASSEMBLY ISSUE. SO I WOULD LIKE TOYOTA TO HAVE MY PROBLEM ADDRESSED. THEY SHOULD FIX THEIR ASSEMBLY ISSUE AND NOT LET CUSTOMERS KEEP COMPLAINING WITHOUT RESULTS!!!*AK
I PURCHASED MY 2004 TOYOTA CAMRY LIMITED EDITION IN NOVEMBER OF 2003. I BEGAN TO NOTICE THAT THE CAR PULLS TO THE LEFT WHILE I'M DRIVING - ESPECIALLY AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. IN ADDITION THE CAR IS VERY SENSETIVE TO THE ROAD CROWN AND WIND. IT IS ACTUALLY DIFFICULT TO KEEP IT IN A STRAIGHT LINE WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY AT SPEEDS OF 65 MPH. IT FEELS LIKE YOU ARE CONSTANTLY IN SOME TYPE OF STRONG CROSSWIND. THE LEFT PULL IS SO NOTICEABLE THAT I CONSIDER IT A SAFETY ISSUE. I'M SURPRISED SOMEONE HASN'T WRECKED AS A RESULT OF THIS. THE DEALERSHIP ADVISES ME THAT THERE IS A FLAW IN THE ENGINEERING OF THE AUTOMOBILE AND THAT THEY GET THIS COMPLAINT QUITE OFTEN. I CONSIDER THIS AN UNACCEPTABLE RESPONSE THUS I AM FILING THIS COMPLAINT. *AK
WHILE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED, THE VEHICLE PULLED TO THE LEFT. THE DEALER EXAMINED THE VEHICLE, BUT COULD NOT FIND THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM. *AK THE DEALER ADJUSTED THE ALIGNMENT AND CURRENTLY ALL THE TIRES WERE WORN OUT ON THE OUTSIDE. *SC
WE PURCHASED A 2004 SOLARA SE SPORT V6, AFTER THE TEST DRIVE I TOLD THE SERVICE MANAGER IT PULLED TO THE LEFT HE TOLD US NOT TO WORRY BRING IT BACK NEXT WEEK AND HE WILL GIVE IT A FRONT END ALIGNMENT, WE DID THAT AND STILL PULLS . WE TOOK IT BACK AGAIN AND THEY SWITCHED THE TIRES FROM THE RIGHT SIDE TO THE LEFT AND IT STILL PULLS TO THE LEFT. THEY HAVE NOW HAD IT FOR 2 WEEKS AND DONT KNOW HOW TO FIX THE PROBLEM, THEY TOLD ME TOYOTA KNOWS THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH IT PULLING TO THE LEFT BUT DONT KNOW HOW TO FIX IT. THIS IS A BIG SAFTY PROBLEM BECAUSE YOU MUST AT ALL TIME KEPP PRESSURE ON THE STEERING WHEEL TO THE LEFT IN ORDER FOR THE CAR TO GO STRAIGHT ON THE ROAD. IF YOU LET GO OF THE WHEEL YOU WILL GO INTO THE OTHER LANE OF TRAFFIC WHAT WILL HAPPEN IN BAD WEATHER WITH ICE OR SNOW..... THIS PROBLEM NEEDS TO BE FIX BEFORE SOMEONE HAS A BAD ACCIDENT CAUSE OF THE CONSTANT PULLING TO THE LEFT... I SUGGEST A RECALL ON THE VEHICLE. *AK
SINCE I PURCHASED MY 2004 TOYOTA CAMRY SE V6 NEW IN NOVEMBER 2003, THERE HAS BEEN A PROBLEM WITH ACCELERATION AFTER COMING TO A YIELD. BASICALLY WHAT OCCURS IS I COME TO AN INTERSECTION OR A SITUATION WHERE I MUST YIELD AND WHEN I PRESS THE GAS PEDAL THE CAR HESITATES FOR A FEW SECONDS. WHEN I FIRST PURCHASED THE CAR I THOUGHT THIS MAY BE NEW CAR JITTERS AND IT WOULD EVENTUALLY STRAIGHTEN OUT. HOWEVER, TWO YEARS LATER THE PROBLEM STILL EXISTS. THIS CAN POTENTIALLY BE A DANGEROUS SITUATION FOR SEVERAL REASONS. IF YOU MAKE THE DECISION TO GO AND THERE IS ONCOMING TRAFFIC BUT THE CAR HESITATES A WRECK COULD POSSIBLY HAPPEN. SO TO KEEP THIS FROM HAPPENING, I WILL PRESS THE GAS PEDAL MORE THAN NECESSARY TO OVER-COMPENSATE FOR THE HESITATION AND THEN WHEN THE CAR DOES GO IT JETS OUT INTO TRAFFIC FASTER THAN I ANTICIPATE. I VOICED MY CONCERN TO THE LOCAL TOYOTA DEALER IN COLUMBIA, MISSOURI AND THEIR FIRST RESPONSE WAS "OH, THAT'S JUST NORMAL V6 HESITATION." I EXPRESSED THERE WAS NOTHING NORMAL ABOUT IT AND I WANTED TO TALK TO THE MANAGER. THE MANAGER CALLED IN THE REGIONAL REP AND WE ALL WENT FOR A RIDE IN ONE OF THE 2004 XLE V6 SO THEY COULD SHOW ME THE PROBLEM EXISTS IN ALL THE V6'S. THE REGIONAL REP AGREED THERE WAS A PROBLEM BUT THEY DIDN'T KNOW EXACTLY HOW TO FIX IT. HE DID SAY THAT WHEN THE PROBLEM WAS RESOLVED THEY WOULD LET ME KNOW. SO FAR NO PHONE CALL. *JB
I PURCHASED A BRAND NEW 2004 TOYOTA SOLARA IN SEPTEMBER OF 2003. SINCE I HAVE HAD THE CAR IT HAS PULLED TO THE LEFT. I TOOK IT IN AND TOYOTA HAD MY CAR FOR THREE DAYS. THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY HAVE TALKED WITH TOYOTA SPECIALIST AT CORPORATE AND IT'S A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH THE 2004 SOLARA THAT THEY ARE WORKING ON A FIX. AT THIS TIME THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM IS AND RECOMMENDED I DRIVE THE CAR UNTIL THEY FIGURE IT OUT. IF TIRES WEAR WRONG OR ANY OTHER PROBLEM THEY WOULD COVER IT. THIS IS NOT AN ACCEPTABLE SOLUTION FOR ME. THIS CAR IS BRAND NEW AND I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO KEEP A CAR THAT HAS A DEFECT. THIS WOULD NOT PASS STATE INSPECTION IF I WERE TO GET IT INSPECTED TODAY, SO HOW COULD THEY TELL ME IT'S SAFE TO DRIVE WHEN IT PULLS TO THE LEFT? I PURCHASED A NEW 2004 TOYOTA SOLARA SLE V-6 A FEW WEEKS AGO AND HAVE SOME PROBLEMS. THE MAIN PROBLEM IS DRIFTING TO THE LEFT. I HAVE TAKEN THE CAR IN TWICE FOR THIS PROBLEM AND THE FIRST TIME I GOT THE CAR BACK FROM OURISMAN FAIRFAX TOYOTA THE STEERING PROBLEM WAS WORST THAN WHEN I BROUGHT IT IN. "ALIGNED TO TOYOTA SPECIFICATIONS" THEY SAID. THE SERVICE MANAGER ROTATED THE TIRES MANY TIMES AND ADJUSTED THE ALIGNMENT "OUT OF SPECIFICATIONS" TO TRY AND MAKE THE CAR TRACK STRAIGHT DOWN THE ROAD. HIS ATTEMPT TO FIX THE CAR HAS FAILED AND I AM CERTAIN THAT THE CAR WILL BEGIN TO PRODUCE ABNORMAL TIRE WEAR BECAUSE OF THE ADJUSTMENTS MADE TO THE CAR. I FEEL CHEATED BY TOYOTA. THIS IS A 27,000 DOLLAR CAR AND THE 15,000 DOLLAR COROLLA RENTAL THEY GAVE ME FOR THE DAY HAD PERFECT STEERING. THIS IS ALSO A SAFETY ISSUE. DRIFTING TO THE LEFT SIDE OF THE ROAD CAN CAUSE AN ACCIDENT, IF YOU DON'T KEEP CONSTANT PRESSURE ON THE STEERING WHEEL THE CAR WILL GO LEFT AT AN ALARMING RATE. THE AMOUNT OF DRIFT IS SO BAD THAT IF YOU REMOVE YOUR HAND FROM THE WHEEL, THE STEERING WHEEL WILL TURN LEFT BY ITSELF. THE AMOUNT OF AUTO WHEEL TURN IS BETWEEN 3 TO 12 INCHES. THIS IS VERY UN-SAFE AND I HOPE THIS COMPLAINT CAN BE OF SOME HELP TO OTHERS AND ME. *LA
JUST BOUGHT A NEW 2004 CAMRY XLE FULLY LOADED, HAD 18 MILES ON IT.ONE OF THE BEARINGS ON THE STEERING U-JOINT FELL OUT,CAUSING AT LEAST 2" OF PLAY IN THE WHEEL, LUCK HAS IT THIS WAS JUST BEFORE WE WERE GOING ON A TRIP. WE PURCHASED A 2004 SOLARA SE SPORT V6 ,FROM DAY ONE EVEN AT THE TIME OF THE TEST DRIVE IT PULED TO THE LEFT YOU MUST ALWAYS KEEP PRESSURE ON THE STEERING WHEEL TO THE RIGHT TO KEEP IT STRAIGHT. WE SPOKE TO THE SERVICE MANAGER AFTER THE TEST DRIVE AND BEFORE WE BOUGHT THE CAR AND HE SAID TO ME DONT WORRY BRING IT BACK NEXT WEEK AND WE WILL FIX IT, IT MIGHT JUST BE OUT OF ALIGNMENT. WE TOOK IT BACK THE NEXT WEEK THEY CHANGED THE TIRES FROM THE LEFT SIDE TO THE RIGHT SIDE AND SAID IT WAS OK. IT STILL PULLED TO THE LEFT, I CALLED AND TOLD THEM THAT IT WAS STILL PULLING TO THE LEFT THEY TOLD ME TO BRING IT BACK AND THEY GAVE ME A RENTAL CAR AND THEY HAD IT TWO DAYS. WE PICKED IT UP AND IT STILL PULLED TO THE LEFT .WE TOOK IT BACK FOR THE 3RD TIME IN LESS THEN 2 WEEKS AND I TOLD THEM TO KEEP IT TILL IT IS FIXED , THEY CALLED ME AND TOLD ME THEY ARE HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THEM AND DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO TO FIX THE PROBLEM THE CORRECT WAY . THIS HAS BEEN 3 ATTEMPS TO FIX IT AND 17 DAYS OUT OF THE FIRST MONTH OF HAVING THE CAR THAT IT HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP. WHAT ABOUT AT A LATER DATE ABOUT TIRE PROBLEMS WITH THIS CAR.*AK
MY 2004 TOYOTA SOLARA SLE V6 EXHIBITS SEVERE THROTTLE LAG AT SPEEDS LOWER THAN 50 MPH. THE LAG IS AT ITS WORST WHILE DECELERATING AND THEN ACCELERATING, WITH A LAG OF UP TO 1-2 SECONDS. THE LAG IS ALSO SEVERE FROM A STOP OR FROM A ROLLING SPEED OF 10 MPH OR LESS; TO COMPENSATE FOR THE LAG, IT IS NATURAL FOR THE DRIVER TO PRESS THE GAS PEDAL EVEN FURTHER AND WHEN THE VEHICLE FINALLY DECIDES TO RESPOND, IT RESPONDS WITH RAPID ACCELERATION. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND HAS NEARLY CAUSED SEVERAL ACCIDENTS THROUGHOUT MY 3 YEARS OF OWNERSHIP. TOYOTA ISSUED A TSB FOR NEW PROGRAMMING FOR THE ECU/ECT AND IT HAS FAILED TO FIX THE PROBLEM. *NM
I PURCHASED A BRAND NEW 2004 TOYOTA SOLARA. SINCE DAY ONE THE CAR HAS DRIFTED TO THE LEFT. I HAVE HAD THE FRONT END ALIGNED 4 TIMES, ROTATED THE TIRES AND CHECKED AIR PRESSURE. NOTHING HAS HELPED THIS CAR. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD AND SHOULD BE RECALLED, BEFORE SOMEBODY GETS KILLED.

I PURCHASED A 2004 TOYOTA CAMRY LIMITED EDITION. THIS CAR HANDLES POORLY, LIKE DRIVING IN A WINDSTORM. IT HAS BEEN BACK TO 2 DIFFERENT DEALERS THAT HAVEN'T BEEN ABLE TO FIX IT. THE TOYOTA REPS HAVE LOOKED AT IT AND TOLD ME THAT THERE IS NOTHING WRONG. I FILED FOR ARBITRATION IN 10/05. THE ARBITRATOR AGREED THAT THERE IS A PROBLEM AND ORDERED TOYOTA TO CORRECT IT. THE TOYOTA REPS HAVE NOT YET BEEN ABLE TO FIX IT. I AM NOW SEEKING ARBITRATION TO HAVE TOYOTA BUY THE CAR BACK. *JB

TOYOTA WANTS TO TAKE CAR AND "LOOK AT IT AGAIN." SINCE THEY CANNOT SPECIFICALLY IDENTIFY ROOT CAUSE AND DEFINITIVE CORRECTIVE ACTION, I HAVE NOT GIVEN THEM A 3RD "CHANCE AT IT." PURCHASED BRAND NEW 2004 TOYOTA SOLARA IN SEPTEMBER 2003. CAR HAS PULLED LEFT FROM DAY ONE. HAVE TAKEN CAR IN 5 TIMES. DEALER TOLD ME TOYOTA IS AWARE OF PROBLEM AND ARE WORKING ON FIX. A CASE NUMBER WAS ASSIGNED TO MY CAR AND DEALERSHIP CLAIMED THAT THEY FIXED CAR BY ADDING WASHERS TO THE STRUT BOLTS ON THAT SIDE TO "SHIM" THE CAR. DEALER FAILED TO TELL ME THAT THEY ALSO ADDED 5 EXTRA POUNDS OF PRESSURE TO THE TIRE ON THAT SIDE TO MAKE THE CAR GO STRAIGHT. NOT ACCEPTABLE--THE CAR IS NOT FIXED. I HAVE FILED A LEMON LAW COMPLAINT WITH TOYOTA 2 WEEKS AGO AND AM AWAITING A CALL BACK (THEY HAVE 30 DAYS TO FIX) AND HAVE ALSO FILED A COMPLAINT WITH THE ATTORNEY GENERAL'S OFFICE. *LA
I LEASED A 2004 TOYOTA SOLARA SEPT OF 2003. I AM SO UPSET WITH THIS CAR, IT DRIFTS TO THE LEFT, I'VE TAKEN IT BACK SO MANY TIMES, THERE IS BULLETIN ON THIS, AND THEY SAID IT WAS IN THE SPRINGS, SO THEY TOOK THE TO REPAIR IT. IT STILL DRIFT'S, I'VE HAD THE TIRES ROTATED, A COUPLE OF WHEEL ALIGNMENTS, WHICH I HAD TO PAY. AT FIRST THEY DID NOT WANT TO ALIGN IT SAYING THAT NEW CARS DON'T NEED A WHEEL ALIGNMENT. SO I WENT THROUGH THE LEMON LAW. WITH NO SATISFACTION. IT'S A LEASE, TAKE THE CAR BACK. THIS WAS TO BE MY RETIREMENT CAR AND NOW I WILL NOT HAVE ONE. WILL NOT BUY THIS CAR. THE SEAT BELT FOLDS UNDER THE UPPER SHOULDER AREA OF THE RE-TRACTOR, THUS BINDING IN THE RE-TRACTOR THIS CONDITION CAUSES EITHER THE SEAT BELT UNUSABLE OR FURTHER TIGHTENING CAUSING BREATHING PROBLEMS AND OR POSSIBLE ENTRAPMENT IN THE VEHICLE. ON 09/20/08 I DROVE MY 2004 TOYOTA SOLARA TO A GREEK FESTIVAL ON MOUNTAINVIEW AVENUE IN SANTA ROSA. I WAS DIRECTED TO PARK MY CAR IN THE PARKING FIELD. I ACCELERATED SLIGHTLY TO GO OVER A SMALL BUMP AND THE MOTOR ROARED OUT OF CONTROL. I HAD TO QUICKLY THROW IT INTO ANOTHER GEAR TO KILL THE MOTOR. WHEN I RESTARTED THE CAR IT SEEMED TO BE OK. IT WAS A VERY FRIGHTENING EXPERIENCE. ON 9/22/08 I TOOK IT TO THE FREEMAN TOYOTA DEALERSHIP IN SANTA ROSA. A REPRESENTATIVE TOOK ME OUT FOR A RIDE IN MY CAR AND WAS UNABLE TO REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM WITH MY CAR. THEY DID NOT MAKE OUT A REPORT ON THE INCIDENT. WHENEVER VEHICLE TRAVELED UP AN INCLINE AND THE CONSUMER RELEASED THE BRAKE, THE VEHICLE MOVED BACKWARDS. *PH THIS WAS A VERY DANGEROUS PROBLEM WHEN GOING UP A HILL AND THE SMALLEST HILL. AS SOON AS THE DRIVER'S FOOT RELEASED THE BRAKES, THE VEHICLE MOVED BACKWARDS. THIS HAPPENED WHEN THE TRANSMISSION WAS PLACED IN DRIVE, THE VEHICLE WENT INTO REVERSE AND THE SECOND ONE'S FOOT WAS TAKEN OFF THE BRAKE, THE VEHICLE WENT FORWARD.
