ABNORMAL OPERATION BETWEEN ACCELERATOR AND THROTTLE. TECH TESTED THROTTLE BODY AND TESTS PASSED. TECH TESTED ACCELERATOR PEDAL AND VALUES OUT OF RANGE. TECH WOULD THINK THIS COULD CAUSE A DTC TO SET IF NOT FUNCTIONING PROPERLY BUT THERE WERE NO CODES. AT RANDOM MOMENTS, THE CAR WILL NOT ACCELERATE. CANNOT GET ANSWERS. OCCURS MOST OFTEN AFTER IDLING AT A LIGHT THEN STARTING TO ACCELERATE IT WON'T MOVE. THIS HAS OCCURRED OVER THE YEARS SO WE HAVE HAD THE THROTTLE AND FILTER CLEANED TWICE IN THE PAST BUT PROBLEM IS PERSISTENT AND BECOMING MORE FREQUENT.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE HYBRID BATTERY FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 97,000.

THE CONTACT DISCOVERED THAT THE WINDOW CONTROL ON THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE DOOR WAS MELTING DOWN INTO THE DOOR. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE POWER WINDOW MASTER SWITCH ASSEMBLY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 173,000.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE KEY HAD TO BE PLACED BACK INTO THE IGNITION SWITCH AND TURNED TO THE OFF POSITION. THE FAILURE RECURRED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE KEY WAS VERY LOOSE IN THE IGNITION SWITCH. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. MY CAR HAS EXPERIENCED TWO ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS WITHIN THE PAST 2 YEARS. I OWN A 2006 TOYOTA CAMRY. BOUGHT IN SEPT 2005. DEC 2008 THE BATTERY DIED AND MY LOCAL GARAGE TRACED IT TO THE ALARM- THEY DISCONNECTED THE MODULE. AAA REPLACED THE BATTERY. NOV 15, -2010-, BATTERY DIED AGAIN AND THE CAR WAS TOWED TO MY LOCAL STATION. THEY LOCATED ANOTHER DRAW ON BATTERY BUT COULD NOT REPAIR IT AND SENT IT TO BALISE IN WARWICK RI. I HAD PURCHASED IT THERE.AFTER 2-3 DAYS ON THEIR COMPUTER, THEY LOCATED IT IN THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER IN THE ODOMETER. THE CAR HAS NO SERIOUS RECALLS ON IT AND I NOTE THAT THOUGH 2005, 2007-2010 HAVE BEEN RECALLED THE 2006 HAS NOT. I WISH TO REPORT THIS SO IT IS ON RECORD IN THE EVENT THERE IS A RECALL. THE CAR HAS 25,000 MILES ON IT AND THE REPAIR THIS TIME WILL COST ABOUT $1100. I HAVE BEEN WITHOUT A CAR FOR 7 DAYS AS BALISE HAD TO ORDER THE PART LAST FRIDAY NOV. 19TH. AFTER STARTING THE CAR THE DRIVERS AIRBAG LIGHT STAYS ON. WHEN THE CAR IS STARTED AGAIN THE LIGHT MAY NOT BE ON. THIS WENT ON FOR 3 DAYS. THE TOYOTA DEALERSHIP HOOKED UP THE CAR TO READ ANY CODES THAT WERE THERE. AFTER 3 DAYS AT THE DEALERSHIP THE FIELD REP STATES THAT A NEW SEAT AND FLOOR WIRING HAS TO BE PURCHASED. THERE IS A SHORT IN THE FLOOR WIRING. TOTAL WILL COST $3450. THE DRIVERS SEAT HAS TO BE REPLACED ALONG WITH THE WIRING. IF NOT REPLACED THE AIRBAG WILL NOT GO OFF. *TR
POSITIVE BATTERY CABLE IS CORRODED, INCLUDING THE WIRES CONNECTED TO THE BATTERY TERMINAL. CORROSION WAS A LARGE MOUND WHEN WE OPENED HOOD TO ADD WASHER FLUID. TRIED TO REMOVE CORROSION AND DISCOVERED THE ENTIRE CONNECTION TO BATTERY TERMINAL HAS DISINTEGRATED. RIGGED IT UP WITH $3 PART FROM AUTOZONE. DEALER STATES THEY'VE NEVER HAD ANY SUCH PROBLEMS. DEALERSHIP HAS THE ONLY PEOPLE THAT HAVE BEEN UNDER THE HOOD OF MY CAR. I AM THERE EVERY 5000 MILES....LIKE CLOCKWORK. CAN'T BELIEVE THEY DIDN'T SEE SIGNS OF THIS ON LAST VISIT. THEY WANT $3100 TO REPLACE THE MAIN WIRING HARNESS! WHAT WOULD HAVE HAPPENED IF I DIDN'T CATCH THIS? IT WOULD HAVE SHORTED OUT AND POSSIBLY CAUGHT FIRE. *TR
ODOMETER READS 10% HIGH. THIS IS VERIFIED WITH TWO DIFFERENT GPS UNITS SIMULTANEOUSLY AS WELL AS HIGHWAY RADAR SIGNS. DEALER (TAYLOR TOYOTA) FALSELY CLAIMS ODOMETER/SPEEDOMETER IS ACCURATE. THIS MAY LEAD TO DRIVING TOO SLOWLY, AND ALSO FALSELY INDICATES A HIGHER MILEAGE THAN TRUE, DEVALUING THE VEHICLE. *TR
