2007 CAMRY STARTED CONSUMING OIL LIKE CRAZY AROUND 100,000. COOLANT ALSO STARTING TO DISAPPEAR.
THE ENGINE STARTED TO BURN OIL EXCESSIVELY ABOUT 1 YEAR AFTER I PURCHASED THE CAR IN 2013 AND NOW IN 2018 THERE ARE 2 CYLINDERS WITH LOW PRESSURE AND THE DEALERSHIP HAS TOLD ME I NEED A NEW ENGINE. THE CAR IS NOT GIVING A CODE : CHECK VSC SYSTEM AND THE CAR CUTS COMPLETELY OFF WHILE DRIVING, NO CONTROL OF BRAKES OR ACCELERATION, VERY DANGEROUS. I WAS TRAVELING ON A CITY STREET AND THE CAR JUST CUT COMPLETELY OFF AND ALL LIGHTS AND BELLS ILLUMINATED ON THE DASH BOARD. THE OIL CONSUMPTION PROBLEM ULTIMATELY BURNT THE ENGINE UP AND TOYOTA WOULD NOT REPAIR THE CAR.
SOMETIMES AFTER STARTING THE VEHICLE IT WON'T MOVE TO DRIVE OR BACK UP. THIS HAPPENS THREE TO FOUR TIMES ALREADY SINCE 2009 OR AFTER IT IS IN A PARKING POSITION AND CHANGE DIRECTION THE STEERING WHEEL LOST CONTROL OR DIRECTION THIS HAPPEN 2X ALREADY.
MY DASHBOARD HAS BECOME VERY SHINY AND STICKY. TOYOTA HAS DECLINED TO FIX IT. IT MAKES IT HARD TO SEE THE ROAD AND I ALMOST RAN INTO A PARKED CAR DUE TO REDUCED VISIBILITY.
BRAKES DEPRESS MORE AND TAKE MORE PRESSURE TO BRAKE. 06/4/2018. CAR VIBRATES WHEN BRAKING OVER 50 MILES PER HOUR. BRAKE FLUID RESERVOIR WAS REPLACED 10/22/2016
DASH IS STICKY. ANYTHING TOUCHING IT STICKS LIKE A MAGNET.
Instrument panel (dashboard) is sticky. Safety issue is sticky dashboard is throwing a glare up on windshield, making it harder to see thru windshield clearly. This happens at any time of daylight. This is a recognized Toyota manufacturing defect. Issue has been confirmed by local Toyota dealer and also Toyota customer service. No other inspection has been done. Problem began about 2018.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BRAKES MADE A WEIRD, CLICKING NOISE. ALSO, THE BRAKES SEIZED WHILE THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS BEING DEPRESSED. IN ADDITION, ALL THE WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE VEHICLE MADE BEEPING SOUNDS WHILE DRIVING. THE CONTACT DROVE THE VEHICLE TO SOUTHERN 441 TOYOTA (9205 SOUTHERN BLVD, ROYAL PALM BEACH, FL 33411, 561-693-1393) WHERE THEY DIAGNOSED THAT THE BRAKES WERE FAULTY AND THE BATTERY WAS DEFECTIVE. THE PARTS WERE REPLACED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO SEVERAL INDEPENDENT MECHANICS TO BE SERVICED, BUT THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
MELTING DASHBOARD, STICKY SHINY AND CREATES GLARE ON WINDSHIELD THAT IS UNSAFE.
I JUST FOUND OUT THAT MY BRAKE ACTUATOR IS FAILING. TOYOTA APPARENTLY ISSUED AN 'ENHANCED WARRANTY' RATHER THAN A RECALL TO FIX THIS KNOWN DEFECT DESPITE THE SAFETY RISKS FOR ALL DRIVERS IF ANOTHER DRIVER'S BRAKES FAIL. I AM UNDER THE MILEAGE BUT ABOUT A YEAR BEYOND THE EXTENDED WARRANTY DATE. TOYOTA CORPORATE WILL NOT COVER THE FIX AND SAID THIS IS THEIR COMPANY POSITION. I FEEL THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL FOR THE SAFETY OF ALL DRIVERS. (WHEN I BRAKE THE BRAKES MAKE A 'BARKING SOUND.' THIS IS WHAT PROMPTED GOING TO THE DEALER.)
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY. WHILE THE CONTACT'S SPOUSE WAS DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED AND ATTEMPTING TO STOP, THE DRIVER HAD TO DEPRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL SEVERAL TIMES. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE VEHICLE SHOOK WHEN STOPPING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER (TARBOX TOYOTA, 3671 QUAKER LN, NORTH KINGSTOWN, RI 02852, (401) 884-5438) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ABS ACTUATOR NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN. *TT
Excessive oil consumption
ENGINE BURNS ONE QUART OF OIL EVERY 1000 MILES.TOYOTA KNOWS ABOUT THIS PROBLEM AND SAYS IT'S NORMAL FOR A VEHICLE TO BURN OIL AFTER TIME.
THE DASHBOARD KEEP MELTING AND STICKY HENCE AFFECTING VISIBILITY WHEN DRIVING... I ACTUALLY TOOK IT TO FAMILY TOYOTA OF ARLINGTON BUT WAS TOLD THE RECALL WAS OVER AND I HAVE TO PAY $1100 WHICH I DO NOT HAVE AND CANT AFFORD.
MY 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY HYBRID STARTED EXPERIENCING AN ERROR MESSAGE DISPLAYED ON DASH, "CHECK VSC SYSTEM", ADDITIONALLY ALL THE INDICATOR LIGHTS ON THE DASH LIT UP. THIS STARTED HAPPENING AT THE END OF MARCH 2018. I HAVE AN OBD2 READER AND THE FAULT CODE WAS "C1391". I WAS ABLE TO ERASE THE CODE AND DASHBOARD RETURNED TO NORMAL BUT MESSAGE AND LIGHTS RETURN 2-3 DAYS LATER. IN MID-JUNE 2018 I TOOK THE CAMRY TO TOYOTA TO REPAIR IT. THEY DID A DIAGNOSTIC TEST ($109) TO TELL ME WHAT I ALREADY TOLD THEM REGARDING THE CODE. I KNEW THAT WAS THE BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY PROBLEM. THEY GAVE ME A A QUOTE OF $1895 FOR PART AND TAX AND AN ADDITIONAL $340 PLUS TAX FOR LABOR. I PICKED UP MY CAR, DID NOT HAVE THE $2400 TO GET THE WORK DONE (PARTS ALSO WOULD TAKE 2 DAYS TO GET). THEY DID WARN ME AGAINST DRIVING THE VEHICLE UNTIL IT WAS FIXED. THE TECHNICIAN ALSO POINTED OUT THE ODD MOTORIZED NOISE THE ACTUATOR WAS MAKING WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS OFF. HE SAID IT SHOULDN'T MAKE ANY NOISE WHEN IT WAS OFF. AFTER FURTHER RESEARCH ON FORUMS, I FOUND THERE WAS A TOYOTA WARRANTY ENHANCEMENT PROGRAM ZE1 SPECIFICALLY FOR MY VEHICLE FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF THE BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY (SEE ATTACHED). IT WAS ISSUED IN JULY 2014 TO OFFER FULL REPLACEMENT AND REPROGRAMMING AT NO COST TO THE CUSTOMER. HOWEVER, IT HAD DATED CONDITIONS AND WAS ONLY APPLICABLE IF THE LIGHTS AND MESSAGES CAME UP ON DASH. ALTHOUGH THE SOUND HAS OCCURRED SINCE I PURCHASED THE USED CAR IN JAN 2010, I DID NOT RECEIVE LIGHTS OR MESSAGE UNTIL MARCH 2018 BUT THE GRACE PERIOD RAN OUT ON JULY 2017. TOYOTA SHOULD HONOR THE EXTENSION OF THE REPLACEMENT PROGRAM WHEN THE PROBLEM OCCURS IF THEY WON'T PROACTIVELY RESOLVE IT PRIOR TO THE INDICATED SIGNS. TOYOTA IS WARNING ME TO FIX THIS AT MY COST OR RISK BRAKE FAILURE AT ANY TIME.
MY VISOR BROKE AND WILL NO LONGER STAY IN PLACE, THIS IS OBSTRUCTING MY VIEW WHILE DRIVING. WHEN LOOKING UP THIS ISSUE I FOUND A OLD RECALL FOR THIS EXACT PART. "2007-2011 TOYOTA CAMRY'S WERE INSTALLED WITH A SUN VISOR THAT WAS LATER RECALLED DUE TO A DEFECT IN THE INNER PLASTIC BODY. ... MAKING THE ARM UNABLE TO HOLD THE VISOR IN PLACE EFFECTIVELY, INCREASING THE RISK OF IT OBSTRUCTING THE VIEW OF THE DRIVER." THIS SHOULD NOT BE BROKEN, AND IF THERE WAS A PREVIOUS RECALL, I WOULD TO HAVE THIS FIXED.
STICKY, SHINY DASHBOARD. THE DASHBOARD HAS GOTTEN SOFT AND GOOEY AND IS NOW VERY SHINY. IT MAKES IT ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO SEE OUT OF THE WINDSHIELD ON A SUNNY DAY. I HAVE LOOKED IT UP ON LINE AND IT IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM. SUPPOSEDLY TOYOTA NOTIFIED OWNERS AND OFFERED TO REPLACE SOME OF THEM BUT WE MOVED AND WERE NEVER NOTIFIED. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE AND I CANT FOR THE LIFE OF ME UNDERSTAND WHY THERE HAS NOT BEEN A FULL BLOWN RECALL. AGAIN, ON A SUNNY DAY THERE IS SO MUCH GLARE FROM THE DASH ONTO THE WINDSHIELD THAT IT IS DIFFICULT TO SEE OUT.
HIGH OIL CONSUMPTION
I OWN A 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY HYBRID I HAVE HAD HIS CAR FOR 4 YEARS AND HAVE BEEN VERY SATISFIED WITH IT TILL YESTERDAY AS I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND MY ALL THE SUDDEN THIS LOUD BUZZING NOISE STARTED I TAPPED THE BRAKES AND HAD NO BRAKES I WAS GOING 55MPH AND HAD THE BRAKE TO THE FLOOR WITH VERY LOL BRAKE I HAD TO SHIFT DOWN TO SLOW THE CAR DOWN THANK GOD NO ONE WAS IN FRONT OF ME OR I WOULD HAVE WRECKED. THIS IS A FAULTY PART FROM WHAT I HAVE READ ABOUT AND IT'S SERIOUS ! THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL MATTER IT'S THE BRAKING SYSTEM AND BRAKES ARE NEEDED ! MY CAR HAS OVER 150000 SO IT DID NOT QUALIFY FOR THE SAFETY CAMPAIGN. ALSO MY UNDERSTANDING IS THERE HAD TO BE A PROBLEM BEFORE IT COULD BE COVERED ! IF I WOULD HAVE WRECKED WITH MY GRANDCHILD IN THIS VEHICLE I WOULD HAVE A LAWSUIT AGAINST TOYOTA ON THIS MATTER !! THIS NEEDS TO BE LOOKED INTO AND SHOULD BE RECALLED !
1. BACKGROUND THE VEHICLE DASHBOARD BECAME "STICKY" ON OR ABOUT JUNE 12, 2018. THE ENTIRE DASH IS NOW COVERED WITH A GLUE-LIKE RESIDUE. THE TOYOTA WARRANTY ENHANCEMENT PROGRAM (ZE6) COVERING THIS PROBLEM EXPIRED ON MAY 31, 2017. TOYOTA HAS REFUSED TO REPLACE THE DASH UNDER THE WARRANTY PROGRAM (TOYOTA CASE #'S 1806131876, 1806210691). 2. SAFETY-RELATED ISSUES A. ON WARM, SUNNY DAYS IN DIRECT SUNLIGHT, THE STICKY DASH HAS A VERY BRIGHT SHINE. THE SHINY DASH PROJECTS A GLOSSY, TEXTURED IMAGE OF THE DASH ONTO THE FRONT WINDSHIELD. THIS CAN OCCUR WHEN THE VEHICLE IS EITHER STATIONARY OR MOVING. THIS CONDITION IMPEDES MY FIELD OF VISION AND MAKES IT DIFFICULT TO FOCUS AND CLEARLY SEE THE ROAD AHEAD, OTHER VEHICLES, AND PEDESTRIANS. B. DURING THE SUMMER SEASON, INTERIOR CAR TEMPERATURES CAN REACH BETWEEN 130 AND 170 DEGREES. WHAT TOXINS ARE BEING RELEASED IN THE CAR INTERIOR FROM THE INTERACTION OF EXTREME HEAT, UV RADIATION, AND THE GLUE-LIKE RESIDUE? WHAT ARE THE SHORT AND LONG TERM HEALTH RISKS FROM INHALING POTENTIALLY TOXIC AIR IN A CONFINED SPACE WHILE DRIVING? SUMMARY BECAUSE OF THE SAFETY ISSUES NOTED ABOVE, MY VEHICLE SHOULD BE RECALLED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. I STRONGLY BELIEVE THAT I AM DRIVING AN "UNSAFE" VEHICLE THAT IS ENDANGERING MYSELF, OTHER VEHICLES ON THE ROAD, AND PEDESTRIANS. NO DRIVER SHOULD HAVE TO DRIVE AN UNSAFE VEHICLE DUE TO A MANUFACTURER'S DEFECT WHICH RESULTS IN DIMINISHED ROAD VISIBILITY AND POTENTIALLY INTERIOR CAR TOXINS. THEREFORE, THIS IS NO LONGER A WARRANTY ISSUE BUT A SERIOUS "SAFETY" ISSUE THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED.
STARTED HAVING ISSUES WITH CAR OVERHEATING. REPLACED WATER PUMP BUT CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND HAD THE CODE FOR A MISFIRE. ENDED UP BEING THE HEAD GASKET. THIS CAR IS WELL MAINTAINED. IN RESEARCHING THIS, I HAVE FOUND THAT SEVERAL TOYOTA OWNERS HAVE HAD HEAD GASKET ISSUES AND THERE WAS ALSO A RECALL ON THE 4RUNNER HEAD GASKET.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY. WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE CONTACT NOTICED A STICKY SUBSTANCE ON THE DASHBOARD. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE GLARE FROM THE SUN ONTO THE WINDSHIELD MADE IT DIFFICULT FOR THE DRIVER TO SEE THE PRECEDING VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 162,000.
(1) ABS MODULE HAS AN INTERMITTENT SHORT. WHEN IT FAILS THE SPEEDOMETER STOPS WORKING, ABS AND BRAKE LIGHT ON DASH COME ON, TEMP GAUGE AND TACH FLUCTUATE, AND THE A/C STOPS WORKING. THE SHORT IN MODULE WAS DIAGNOSED BY A TOYOTA DEALER. I UNDERSTAND ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS GO BAD BUT FOR IT TO EFFECT THE SPEEDOMETER AND A/C SEEMS LIKE A POOR DESIGN. (2) ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS MY ENGINE OIL LIGHT HAS COME ON. APPARENTLY THERE ARE ISSUES WITH EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION IN SOME MODEL TOYOTAS WITH PISTON RINGS FLAWS. DEALER HAS DONE OIL CONSUMPTION TESTS BUT UNABLE TO REPRODUCE PROBLEM.
WHEN I DRIVE THIS CAR I PRESS THE BRAKES AND THEY DO NOT ENGAGE OR THEY ENGAGE ON A DELAY. . WHILE DRIVING I ATTEMPTED BRAKE TO SLOW ENTRY INTO UPHILL DRIVEWAY. ALL LIGHTS ON DRIVER PANEL LIT UP. BRAKES DID NOT RESPOND TO SLOW DOWN OR STOP. WITH FULL FORCE I DEPRESSED BRAKE PEDAL. THIS IS HAPPENING FROM LAST COUPLE OF MONTHS.
THE DRIVER'S SIDE VISOR DOES NOT STAY UP. THIS CAUSES A SAFETY ISSUE AS IT CAN BLOCK MY VISION. THIS OCCURS EITHER WHILE STATIONARY OR MOVING, SPEED DOESN'T SEEM TO EFFECT IT
MELTING DASHBOARD. BOUGHT A USED 2007 CAMRY. THOUGHT THE DASHBOARD WAS JUST OVERDONE WITH ARMOUR ALL. FOUND OUT THE DASHBOARD IS MELTING CAUSING MULTIPLE PROBLEMS BUT THE DANGEROUS GLARE IS THE BIGGEST CONCERN. CALLED TOYOTA. THEY SAID THERE WAS A TIME LIMIT ON THIS DEFECT BEING FIXED. THEY HAVE ADMITTED THIS IS A DEFECT BUT WONT FIX IT.
THE DASHBOARD IS STICKY AND MELTING AND IT PUTS A GLARE IN FRONT WINDSHIELD DAY AND NIGHT WHICH MAKE IT HARD TO SEE. I BOUGHT CAR FROM ITS ORIGINAL OWNER AND IT WAS DOING THIS WHEN I GOT IT. I THOUGHT IT WAS BECAUSE IT WAS RECENTLY DETAILED, AND COME TO FIND OUT, THIS IS A PERMANENT ISSUE.
THE SUN VISORS ARE THE RIGHT AND LEFT OF THE CAR WERE DEFECTIVE AND REPLACED AND THE NEW VISORS ARE ALSO DEFECTIVE AND DO NOT MAINTIAN THEIR POSTIION AS THEY FALL DOWN AND BLOCK THE DRIVERS VIEW MAKING A VERY SERIOUS HAZAED AND PREVENTIVE VISIBILITY TO DRIVE THE CAR. WE CONTACTED THE DEALER CALLED TOYOTA OF ORANGE AND THEY SAY THEY KNOW THE REPLACEMENTS ARE DEFECTIVE BUT THERE IS NO RECALL ON THE REPLACMENTS.
MELTING DASHBOARD CAUSING VISIBILITY PROBLEM WITH REFLECTION IN WINDSHIELD
THE SUN VISOR AT DRIVER'S SIDE HAS BECOME DETACHED. IT CAN NO LONGER BE HELD IT ITS POSITION. PLEASE SEE PICTURE ATTACHED. TOYOTA HAD ISSUED A RECALL ON 08/01/2012 (DETAILS AVAILABLE AT THIS LINK: HTTP://MEDIA.FIXED-OPS.COM/TOY_CAMPAIGNS/POL12-03.PDF), HOWEVER, AS PER TOYOTA, FREE REPAIR/REPLACEMENT IS ONLY APPLICABLE "7 YEARS FROM THE DATE-OF-FIRST-USE (REGARDLESS OF MILEAGE)". I HAVE SERVICED MY TOYOTA AT TOYOTA DEALERSHIP EVERY 5,000 MILES FROM 2012 TILL DATE, HOWEVER, I WAS NEITHER INFORMED OF THIS RECALL NOR HAD THE ITEM REPLACED BY TOYOTA PROACTIVELY DUE TO RECALL ISSUED. HENCE TOYOTA MUST NOT ASK ME TO PAY FOR THIS REPAIR NOW.
COMPLETE BRAKE FAILURE!!I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD APPROACHING A STOP LIGHT WHEN MY BRAKES WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR AND A LOT OF LIGHTS CAME ON THE DASHBOARD, I COASTED TO A STOP LUCKILY WITHOUT HITTING ANOTHER CAR. THIS IS THE FIRST TIME THIS HAS EVER HAPPENED, I HAVE NO WARNING LIGHTS INDICATING THERE IS OR WAS AN ISSUE AND I HAD MY CAR TOWED TO THE LOCAL MECHANIC THAT IS TELLING ME THAT IT HAS A FAULTY BRAKE PART #4405030660. I DID A LITTLE RESEARCH AND IT LOOKS LIKE TOYOTA SELLS AN UPDATED PART REPLACEMENT FOR THIS FAULTY ORIGINAL PART, PART COST IS $1200 PLUS $700 LABOR. READING MANY FORUMS I'M FINDING OUT THAT THERE ARE MANY PEOPLE THAT HAVE HAD COMPLETE BRAKE FAILURE OVER THE YEARS WITH THIS SAME ISSUE AND ID LOVE TO KNOW WHY THIS ISN'T A RECALL BUT A PUNISHMENT FROM TOYOTA AND A DEATH SENTENCE JUST WAITING TO HAPPEN.
TAKATA RECALLS DASH BOARD IS STICKY AIR BAG SIGN OFF
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY HYBRID. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS STARTED, THE ESC WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AND A BEEPING SOUND WAS HEARD. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER (FOX TOYOTA, 228 FOX FAMILY LANE, CLINTON, TENNESSEE 37716) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE BRAKE ACTUATOR FAILED AND NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS AWAITING REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 200,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
ANTI LOCK BRAKE ACTUATOR FAILED AT APPROXIMATELY 104,000 MILES. A WARNING LIGHT JUST CAME ON THE DASH AND WE TOOK IT IN FOR SERVICE THE FOLLOWING DAY. TOYOTA CUSTOMER SERVICE ADVISES THERE IS NO RECALL EVEN THOUGH IT'S A SAFETY ISSUE. THEY HAVE ISSUED AN EXTENDED WARRANTY FOR 10 YEARS OR 150,000, WHICHEVER COMES FIRST. OUR VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED 10 YEARS AND 10 MONTHS AGO SO IT'S NOT COVERED, EVEN THOUGH OUR MILEAGE IS 2/3 OF THE EXTENDED WARRANTY. WE FEEL IT SHOULD BE COVERED UNDER A RECALL SINCE IT IS A KNOWN SAFETY ISSUE FOR THESE VEHICLES.
I HAD THE DRIVER'S SIDE SUN VISOR REPLACED AT MY OWN EXPENSE BECAUSE ITHE VISOR WAS ROTATING DOWNWARD AND DETACHING FROM THE CEILING BLOCKING MY VISION WHILE DRIVING. A LITTLE WHILE LATER I RECEIVED A "WARRANTY ENHANCEMENT NOTICE" FROM TOYOTA ABOUT THIS VISOR PROBLEM. I STILL HAD THE REPAIR RECEIPT SO I MAILED IT TO TOYOTA AND THEY REIMBURSED ME. NOW IT IS BROKEN AGAIN. IT COMPLETELY FALLS DOWN WITH NO SUPPORT WHAT-SO-EVER AND DETACHES FROM THE CEILING FREQUENTLY. I HAVE A STRING WITH A CLOTHES PIN TO HOLD IT PARTIALLY UP BUT MY VISION IS STILL BLOCKED SOME AND THE CLOTHES PIN DOESN'T HOLD IT VERY LONG. THIS SHOULD NOT HAPPEN. I HAVE NOT ABUSED THIS VISOR IN ANYWAY. I STILL HAVE THE PAPERWORK FOR THE REPAIR AND THE WARRANTY ENHANCEMENT NOTICE LETTER. THERE IS NO NUMBER ON THIS LETTER BUT AT THE BOTTOM IN TINY LETTERS IS ZTT CAMRY N5E086-00000803-104 IF THIS IS ANY HELP. I LIVE IN A DIFFERENT STATE NOW BUT DON'T KNOW IF THIS MAKES ANY DIFFERENCE.

The contact stated that the shiny portion of the dashboard was reflecting onto the windshield, impairing the visibility of the roadway, which nearly caused a crash. I WAS DRIVING ON THE ROAD AT A SPEED OF 35 MILES PER HOUR AND ALL OF A SUDDEN THE "CHECK VSC SYSTEM" LIGHT TURNED ON MY DASHBOARD AND THE BRAKE OF THE CAR BECAME LOOSE. WHEN I TRY TO SLOW THE CAR DOWN BY APPLYING THE BRAKE, IT WOULDN'T LET ME DO SO. I WAS APPROACHING THE TRAFFIC LIGHT AND I HAD TO PRESS THE BRAKE TOO HARD SO THAT THE CAR CAN STOP. FINALLY, I WAS ABLE TO STOP IT BY APPLYING THE EMERGENCY BRAKE.

FAULTY ABS ACTUATOR AND PUMP LEADING TO DIFFICULT BRAKING. PRIMING NOISE APPARENT DURING DRIVING AND WHILE PARKED. NEVER RECEIVED NOTICE OF SERVICE RECALL CAMPAIGN FROM TOYOTA A FEW YEARS BACK. SADLY, IT IS NOW A FEW MONTHS PAST THE 10-YEAR WARRANTY AND TOYOTA WILL NO LONGER SERVICE THE REPAIR.
WHEN YOU PRESS THE PUSH START BUTTON TO START THE CAR WHEN IT IS PARKED, IT USUALLY TAKES 5-6 TRIES BEFORE IT TURNS ON IN THE MORNING WHEN LEAVING FOR WORK. THE LIGHT WILL STAY RED AND WON'T TURN GREEN. I GET A MESSAGE THAT SAYS CHECK VCS SYSTEMS. IT HAPPENS WHEN I LEAVE THE CAR FOR LONGER PERIODS. IT IS NOT INFREQUENT. IT IS VERY TIME CONSUMING AND INCONVENIENT.

THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 119,000.

I PAID FOR THIS VEHICLE IN FULL IN CASH FROM THE DEALER I'M TRYING TO FIND OUT HOW TO GET MY MONEY BACK FOR THE VEHICLE SALE PRICE AND THE OTHER MINOR REPAIRS THAT I MADE TO THIS VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE COULD HAVE KILLED ME AND MY CHILDREN IT JUST TURNED OFF WHILE WE WERE DRIVING HOME DURING THE DAY, ALMOST CAUSED A CAR ACCIDENT.
