TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 TOYOTA CAMRY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 5 MPH THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED AND CRASHED INTO THE SIDE OF A HOUSE. THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE WAS SEVERELY DAMAGED. AN INSURANCE ADJUSTER WAS GOING TO INSPECT THE VEHICLE WITHIN ONE BUSINESS DAY. NO INJURIES WERE REPORTED. THE POLICE DID NOT RESPOND. THE DEALER WAS CONTACTED. THE RECALL REMEDY FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 10V017000, ACCELERATOR PEDAL REPAIR WAS PERFORMED PRIOR TO THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 3,333. WHEN TURNING KEY ON TO START CAR THERE WAS SUDDEN ACCELERATION THAT I HAVE NEVER FELT AND HOPE NEVER TO FEEL AGAIN. AT FIRST I DIDN'T KNOW HAT HAD HAPPENED AND FINALLY REALIZED IT WAS OUR CAR AND I THEN TURNED OFF THE KEY. *TR
MY 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY XLE WAS IN A SERIOUS ACCIDENT THIS PAST WEEK. MY SON WAS DRIVING AND THE REAR ABRUPTLY WENT TO THE RIGHT AND HE LOST CONTROL AND SKIDDED ACROSS A ROAD INTO A SOFT SHOULDER/EMBANKMENT CAUSING SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE TO THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE, THE CAR THEN FLIPPED/ROLLED OVER LANDING ON IT'S ROOF. THERE ENDED UP BEING SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE TO MOST OF THE VEHICLE. UPON INSPECTION OF THE VEHICLE BY US ON THE FOLLOWING DAY WE DID NOTICE THAT THE RIGHT REAR TIRE HAD BLOWN OUT, I ASSUME THIS CAUSED THE ABRUPT VEERING TO THE RIGHT DESCRIBED ABOVE. MY SON HAD HIS SEAT BELT ON AND LUCKILY HAD ONLY MINOR INJURIES. MY CONCERN/QUESTION IS WHY THE AIR BAGS DID NOT GO OFF. THIS INCLUDES THE ONES BUILT INTO THE FRONT PILLARS AND THOSE ON THE SIDE DESIGNED TO PROTECT THE OCCUPANTS HEAD AND ARM, ETC. BTW: THIS VEHICLE WAS RECALLED FOR THE DEFECTIVE GAS PEDAL/FLOOR MATS AND WAS SCHEDULED TO HAVE THE RECALL/REPAIR COMPLETED ON 7/29/10. PHOTO'S WERE TAKEN BY HIM OF THE DAMAGE. *TR

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN HE WOULD RAPIDLY SWITCH BETWEEN ACCELERATING AND BRAKING, HE WOULD OFTEN DEPRESS BOTH PEDALS SIMULTANEOUSLY CAUSING UNINTENDED ACCELERATION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE PEDALS WERE MANUFACTURED ENTIRELY TOO CLOSE TOGETHER. THE VEHICLE WAS NEITHER DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 TOYOTA CAMRY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE RECALL REPAIRS FOR RECALLS 09V388000 & 10V017000 (VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL: ACCELERATOR PEDAL) WERE PERFORMED MID-JUNE 2010. THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY ACCELERATED FORWARD AFTER THE CONTACT SHIFTED INTO DRIVE. THE CONTACT TURNED OFF THE IGNITION TO STOP THE ACCELERATION. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER BUT THE DEALER COULD NOT GUARANTEE THAT THE PROBLEM WOULD NOT OCCUR AGAIN SO THE CONTACT REFUSED TO TAKE IT BACK. THE VEHICLE WAS RETURNED TO THE DEALER. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 TOYOTA CAMRY. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING AT 40 MPH, SHE NOTICED A RAT CRAWL FROM UNDER THE PASSENGER SEAT, INTO THE GLOVE COMPARTMENT AND INTO THE AIR CONDITIONING UNIT. THE SIGHT OF THE RAT ALMOST CAUSED THE CONTACT TO LOSE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO REMOVE THE RAT FROM THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER MADE REPAIRS TO THE REAR SEAT AND SEAT BELTS, IN WHICH THE RAT HAD CHEWED THROUGH. THE DEALER ALSO CLEANED THE AIR CONDITIONING UNIT. THE CONTACT SPOKE WITH THE DEALER ABOUT POSSIBLY HAVING A WIRE MESH INSTALLED OVER THE AIR INTAKE TO PREVENT ANY FUTURE RODENTS FROM ENTERING THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER ADVISED THAT ALTHOUGH THE FAILURE WAS A COMMON OCCURRENCE IN HER YEAR, MAKE AND MODEL, HE WOULD HAVE TO GET AUTHORIZATION FROM THE MANUFACTURER TO PERFORM THE REPAIR. THE CONTACT WAS AWAITING AUTHORIZATION FROM THE MANUFACTURER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 11,500 AND THE CURRENT WAS UNKNOWN.
PURCHASED A NEW 2010 TOYOTA CAMRY. AFTER ~ 300 MILES THE ENGINE HAD A NEW NOISE ON START UP. IT WAS DIAGNOSED AS A PROBLEM WITH THE VARIABLE VALVE TIMING GEAR ASSEMBLY. AFTER PICKING UP THE CAR IT HAS BEEN DRAINING OIL AND IS NOW NOT DRIVABLE. *TR
ENGINE LOWER CASE CRANK SEAL LEAK. I CALLED TOYOTA CORP. OFFICE AND THEY REFUSED TO HELP ME. I HAVE READ ALL THE COMPLAINTS, AND I BELIEVE THIS PROBLEM SHOULD HAVE BEEN A RECALL. TOYOTA CORP. NEEDS TO RECALL AND FIX PROBLEM BEFORE SOMEONE GETS SERIOUSLY HURT DRIVING A CAR WITHOUT OIL. THE ENGINE OIL LIGHT DOES NOT COME ON. IT CAN ALSO CAUSE AN ENGINE STOPPAGE. I AM A SENIOR CITIZEN AND FEAR SOMETHING WILL HAPPEN. THE COST TO FIX IS ABOUT $2200.00. I AM A SENIOR CITIZEN AND CANNOT AFFORD THAT KIND OF MONEY. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 TOYOTA CAMRY. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IDLING IN THE NEUTRAL POSITION (MANUAL TRANSMISSION), THE RPM'S BEING TO RACE AT HIGH LEVELS. THE CONTACT SHUT THE VEHICLE OFF AND RESTARTED BUT THE RPM'S CONTINUED TO RACE. THE CONTACT HAD TO RESTART THE VEHICLE THREE TIMES IN ORDER FOR THE VEHICLE TO FUNCTION PROPERLY. THE FAILURE OCCURRED ON TWO OCCASIONS WITH SMOKE EMITTING FROM THE BOTTOM OF THE ENGINE ON ONE OCCASION. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR A DIAGNOSTIC TEST BUT THE DEALER COULD NOT FIND A CAUSE FOR THE PROBLEM. THE CONTACT STATED THE CONTACT BELIEVED VEHICLE WAS UNSAFE TO DRIVE AND NO LONGER WANTED THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 10,000.

THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING 30 MPH ON JUNE 6, 2010 DURING RAINY WEATHER CONDITIONS WHEN THE WINDSHIELD WIPER BLADES BECAME STUCK TOGETHER IN THE MIDDLE OF THE WINDOW. HE HAD TO STOP THE VEHICLE AND ATTEMPT SEPARATE THEM, TO NO AVAIL. HE WAS FORCED TO WAIT UNTIL THE RAIN STOPPED IN ORDER TO CONTINUE DRIVING. THE FOLLOWING DAY HE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER WHO STATED THAT THE FAILURE USUALLY OCCURRED IN THE WINTER DURING INCLEMENT WEATHER. THE MECHANIC REPAIRED THE WIPER BLADES AND CONFIRMED THAT THE SCREWS WERE LOOSE AND NOT ALIGNED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE WHEN THE COMPLAINT WAS FILED. MY WIFE DRIVES A 2007 TOYOTA SOLARA AND WAS PULLING INTO A PARKING SPACE IN ANASTASIA PLAZA IN ST. AUGUSTINE, FL AND WAS ABOUT TO COME TO A STOP A PLACE THE CAR IN PARK WHEN IT ACCELERATED OVER THE TIRE STOP, OVER THE CURB AND THROUGH THE GLASS WINDOWS AND DOORS AND INTO THE SEA OATS RESTAURANT. SHE IS CONFIDENT THAT SHE NEVER TOUCHED THE ACCELERATOR AS HER FOOT WAS ALREADY ON THE BRAKE TO BRING THE CAR TO A STOP AND PLACE IN PARK. THERE WERE NO PRIOR SYMPTOMS OF THIS UNEXPECTED ACCELERATION. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE CAR SMASHED INTO THE LUNCH COUNTER, WHICH WEIGHS APPROX. 2 TONS) AND PUSHED IT 6 FEET. THERE WERE RUBBER MARKS ON THE FLOOR ON THE LEFT SIDE AS THOUGH THE FRONT WHEEL WAS SLIPPING AS IT PUSHED THE COUNTER (PICTURE AVAILABLE). MY WIFE CONTENDS THAT HER FOOT WAS ON THE BRAKE THE WHOLE TIME. I CONTACTED TOYOTA AS WELL AS MY INSURANCE COMPANY. TOYOTA DID AN INSPECTION OF THE CAR ON 6/7/2010. I AM WAITING ON THE RESULTS AND EXPECT TO HEAR BY 6/9/2010. *TR

I HAVE A 2010 CAMRY LE WHICH I PURCHASED THREE WEEKS AGO. THE CAR HAS BRIDGESTONE TURANZA EL 400-02 TIRES, WHICH HAD 689 MILES ON THEM. THE REAR DRIVER SIDE TIRE FAILED AT 60 MPH WHEN THE TREAD SPLIT. AFTER READING ALL THE SIMILAR COMPLAINTS BY OTHER TOYOTA CAR OWNERS, I BELIEVE THESE TIRES ARE DANGEROUS. AFTER A VERY UGLY DISCUSSION WITH THE DEALERSHIP, THE ONE TIRE WAS REPLACED, BUT TOYOTA WOULD NOT REPLACE THE REMAINING THREE. *TR
I DRIVE A 2010 TOYOTA CAMRY WITH ABOUT 7500 MILES. AT ABOUT 11:20 A.M. TODAY MY REAR WINDOW EXPLODED AS I STOPPED AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT ON ARLINGTON MILL ROAD IN ARLINGTON, VA. WHEN THE EXPLOSION OCCURRED I DID NOT KNOW WHAT IT WAS AND LOOKED AROUND FOR THE SOURCE. WHEN I LOOKED TO THE REAR I SAW THE WINDOW IN FRAGMENTS. I SAW NO ONE AROUND ME ALTHOUGH THERE MAY HAVE BEEN SEVERAL VEHICLES STOPPED AT THE LIGHT BEHIND ME. THEY ALL DROVE AROUND AND CONTINUED ON WHEN THE LIGHT CHANGED. I CROSSED THE LIGHT TO NOT HOLD UP TRAFFIC AND THEN CALLED AAA TO DETERMINE WHAT TO DO. I TAKE PRODUCT PICTURES OF PRODUCTS I MARKET OVER THE INTERNET AND HAD A CAMERA WITH ME, SO I TOOK SEVERAL PICTURES. I DID NOT CALL THE POLICE AS I COULD SEE NO ONE WHO MIGHT HAVE FIRED A GUN OR THROWN A STONE. AAA ADVISED THAT I SHOULD NOT DRIVE THE CAR AS IT WAS NOT SAFE TO OTHER DRIVERS IF SHATTERED GLASS FLEW OFF INTO THE ROAD WAY. I ALSO DID NOT WANT TO DRIVE OR IN ANY WAY DISTURB THE VEHICLE PRIOR TO EXAMINATION BY THE DEALER. THE TEMPERATURE WAS 82 DEGREES AND THE AC WAS ON. ALSO, THE SIDE WINDOWS HAVE BEEN TINTED DARK AS I HAD INTENDED TO USE THE VEHICLE FOR A LIVERY SERVICE. THERE IS NO TINT ON THE FRONT AND REAR WINDOWS. I RECEIVED THE CUSTOMER SATISFACTION NUMBER (1-800-331-4331) TO CALL TOYOTA, HAVE CALLED SEVERAL TIMES ONLY TO BE PLACED ON HOLD FOR SIGNIFICANT PERIODS OF TIME. *TR

THE REAR WINDOWS WERE OPENED AND THE VEHICLE ALSO BEGAN TO MOVE FROM SIDE TO SIDE. THE REPRESENTATIVE STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS NORMAL AND THAT THE CONTACT SHOULD OPEN THE FRONT WINDOWS TO RELEASE PRESSURE FROM WITHIN THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS A SAFETY ISSUE SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS DIFFICULT TO CONTROL. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE APPROXIMATELY 3,400.
DASHBOARD IS EXTREMELY STICKY EVEN IN MILD TEMPERATURES AND OBSCURES VISION WHEN DRIVING INTO SUN DUE TO GLARE. GLARE IS CAUSING EXTREMELY DANGEROUS DRIVING CONDITIONS. GLARE IS ALSO CAUSING EYE STRAIN DUE TO INTENSE FOCUS NEEDED TO DRIVE LEADING TO SEVERE HEADACHES. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 TOYOTA CAMRY. THE CONTACT STATED UPON STARTING THE VEHICLE, HE PLACED HIS FOOT ON THE BRAKE PEDAL AND SHIFTED INTO DRIVE. THE VEHICLE THEN ABNORMALLY ACCELERATED TO UNKNOWN SPEEDS. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO MAINTAIN CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AS IT PROCEEDED TO CRASH INTO THREE CONCRETE CURBS, BLOWING OUT THE REAR DRIVERS SIDE TIRE. THERE WAS ALSO DAMAGE TO THE FRONT DRIVERS SIDE TIRE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS AWAITING A DIAGNOSIS OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 70.
TUESDAY APRIL 27 I WAS DRIVING MY 2010 CAMRY IN THE GREAT SMOKY MOUNTAINS DESCENDING A MOUNTAIN ROAD. I TESTED DOWNSHIFTING AT SEVERAL SPEEDS INTO VARIOUS GEARS TO DETERMINE IF IT WAS POSSIBLE TO SLOW DOWN THE CAR UNDER RUNAWAY ACCELERATOR CONDITIONS. I HAD WRONGLY ASSUMED THAT BAD DRIVERS HAD FAILED TO USE THE CONTROLS OF THE CAR TO SLOW DOWN AND STOP SUCH VEHICLES. THE COMPUTER REFUSED TO ACCEPT MY COMMAND TO DOWNSHIFT INTO 1ST GEAR AT SPEEDS ABOVE 25 MPH. I DID NOT TRY HIGHER SPEEDS INTO 2ND. CLEARLY THE PRODUCT MANAGER AND PROGRAM ENGINEERS AT TOYOTA DO NOT UNDERSTAND THAT SAVING THE TRANSMISSION OR ENGINE FROM STRESS COULD LEAD TO DESTRUCTION OF THAT SAME CAR AND IT'S OCCUPANTS IN THEIR FOOLISH DECISION TO LIMIT DRIVER COMMAND AND CONTROL. A FAULT IN THE COMPUTER COULD LEAD TO ENTIRE FAILURE OF THE TRANSMISSION SHIFT COMMANDS AND ENGINE CONTROL SYSTEM ECU. THIS SAME FLAWED THINKING HAS LED TO MANY AIRBUS AIRCRAFT FATAL CRASHES. THE FLIGHT CONTROL COMPUTER FEELS IT IS MORE INTELLIGENT THAT THE STUPID CAPTAIN AT THE CONTROLS SO IT WILL NOT ALLOW A FLIGHT CONTROL INPUT IT DOES NOT AGREE WITH. WHEN THE SENSORS ARE DEFECTIVE, OR THE FLIGHT ENVELOPE REQUIRES EMERGENCY ACTIONS, ETC., TOUGH LUCK. NOW, I REALIZE THAT TOYOTA HAS FOLLOWED THE SAME FLAWED THINKING. I BOUGHT A NEW 2010 CAMRY. I COMPLAINED TO THE DEALER THE VERY NEXT DAY THAT THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS TOO SENSITIVE AND THE CAR WAS NOT DRIVABLE. I WAS ASSURED THAT ALL ACCELERATOR PEDAL RECALL MODIFICATIONS WERE DONE ON THE CAR BEFORE THE SALE. I WAS STILL NOT SATISFIED. THE MANAGER OF THE SHOP AND I DID A TEST DRIVE AND AFTER A DETAILED DISCUSSION OF THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL AND DESIGN DEFECTS WE JOINTLY AGREED TO TRY AND REPLACE THE PEDAL MECHANISM WITH ONE MADE - NOT BY THE US VENDOR - BUT BY NIPPONDENSO -- TOYOTA'S ALTERNATE VENDOR IN JAPAN. TO MY GREAT SURPRISE THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS OF A DIFFERENT DESIGN AND FEEL. WITH THE NIPPONDENSO PEDAL THE FOOTS POSITION ON THE PEDAL IS AT A MUCH MORE COMFORTABLE ANGLE. BUT MOST IMPORTANT OF ALL THE RESPONSE CHARACTERISTICS IS A 100% BETTER THAN THE AMERICAN MADE PEDAL. WITH THE US MADE PEDAL THE CAR HAD A "STEP" RESPONSE WHILST WITH THE NIPPONDENSO PEDAL IT HAS MORE OF A "RAMP" RESPONSE. I WAS TOLD BY THE DEALER'S SHOP MANAGER THAT THE NIPPONDENSO MADE PEDAL MECHANISM DOES NOT NEED THE SPACER OR THE FLOOR MAT MODIFICATION EITHER. I AM SURPRISED THAT TWO VENDORS MAKING THE SAME PART FOR THE SAME MANUFACTURER TO THE SAME SPECIFICATIONS AND DRAWINGS HAVE PRODUCTS THAT ARE SO VASTLY DIFFERENT. THE ONLY THING COMMON BETWEEN THE PEDAL MECHANISMS FROM THE TWO VENDORS IS ITS MOUNTING ON THE FLOOR BOARD. WHERE IS TOYOTA'S QUALITY CONTROL? IN MY OPINION THERE IS A STRONG CO-RELATION BETWEEN UNINTENDED ACCELERATION COMPLAINTS AND THE US MADE ACCELERATOR PEDAL DESIGN AND ITS SHARP "STEP" RESPONSE. LET ALL THOSE WHO HAVE A COMPLAINT ABOUT THE UNINTENDED ACCELERATION INSIST ON REPLACING THE PEDAL MECHANISM MADE BY NIPPONDENSO. AFTER 30 SECONDS, STARTED THE CAR AND IT ALTERNATED BETWEEN IDLE AND ENGINE RACING WHILE DOING NOTHING TO THE GAS PEDAL. RECALL FIXES HAD NOT BEEN DONE YET. DEALERS RESPONSE WAS THEY DID NOT KNOW WHAT CAUSED IT AND DIDN'T CARE WHAT DID - JUST PUT IN THE RECALL REMEDIES AND TRIED TO GIVE IT BACK TO US TO "TRY THIS". THIS MORNING (TUESDAY 03/23/2010) I'VE NOTICED A PROBLEM ON MY VEHICLE WHILE DRIVING: WHEN I STEP ON THE GAS PEDAL TO MOVE FORWARD I CAN FEEL THAT THE VEHICLE TRIED A BIT HARDER THAN NORMAL, BUT AS SOON AS I LIFT UP MY FOOT OFF THE GAS PEDAL, THE VEHICLE SEEMS TO SLOW DOWN OR LOST ITS POWER SO FAST THAT IT LOST ITS MOMENTUM QUICKLY AND FEELING LIKE SOMEONE IS STEPPING ON THE BREAK. THIS SEEMS TO BE A REVERSE AFFECT OF THE RECALLED PROBLEM. I'M FEELING NERVOUS. I'M GOING TO CALL THE DEALER TODAY, BUT I'M PRETTY SURE THEY COULDN'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT UNTIL THE PROBLEM IS RECOGNIZED BY TOYOTA THEMSELVES.
I WORK IN THE MAINTENANCE DEPARTMENT AT CURTIS-MARUYASU IN LEBANON,KY. WE MAKE FUEL AND BRAKE LINES FOR TOYOTA. WHEN THE TOYOTA PLANT IN INDIANA(SUBARU PLANT) COMPLAINED OF BRAKE LINES LEAKING, OUR BOSS TOLD US TO DENY KNOWING ABOUT ANY PROBLEM IF ASKED BY TOYOTA REPRESENTATIVES THAT WOULD VISIT TO INVESTIGATE, EVEN THOUGH WE KNEW OF PROBLEMS FOR SEVERAL MONTHS PRIOR TO BEING INFORMED BY TOYOTA ABOUT PROBLEMS WITH 2 BENDERS THAT SHAPE THE BRAKE LINES. THERE HAVE ALSO BEEN FOLLOW UP VISITS BECAUSE THE PROBLEM WAS NOT RESOLVED. I AM JUST NOW REPORTING THIS BECAUSE I DO NOT WANT TO LOSE MY JOB, BUT MY CONSCIENCE TELLS ME THAT I NEED TO REPORT THIS. I HAVE A NEW 2010 CAMRY. TOYOTA HAS A RECALL ALSO ON THE FLOOR MAT/GAS PEDAL ISSUE. TOYOTA TOOK A GRINDER TO MY GAS PEDAL AS THEIR FIX PER CORPORATE INSTRUCTIONS TOYOTA SHOULD DO IS GIVE IT'S CUSTOMERS NEW GAS PEDALS NOT GRIND DOWN THEIR CURRENT GAS PEDALS. IT APPEARS THAT TOYOTA JUST IS TRYING TO SAVE MONEY. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 TOYOTA CAMRY. WHILE MAKING A LEFT TURN AT APPROXIMATELY 10 MPH, THE VEHICLE WAS STRUCK ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. THE PASSENGER SIDE SEAT BELT DID NOT LOCK CAUSING THE PASSENGER TO BOUNCE AROUND IN THE VEHICLE. NONE OF THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE APPROXIMATELY 10,000.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 TOYOTA . WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATE SPEEDS OF 20 MPH, THE VEHICLE ABNORMALLY ACCELERATED. THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO BRAKE AND THE VEHICLE PROCEEDED TO CRASH INTO A DUMPSTER. TWO OCCUPANTS SUFFERED KNEE AND BACK INJURIES. THE POLICE ARRIVED AT THE SCENE; HOWEVER, THE CONTACT COULD NOT CONFIRM IF A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS AWAITING A DIAGNOSTIC TEST FOR THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT ON A SEPARATE OCCASION, WHEN PLACING THE KEYS INTO THE IGNITION, THE KEYS BURNED THE CONTACTS HANDS. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 5,000.
