TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2014 TOYOTA CAMRY. WHILE DRIVING 5 MPH, THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE CRASHED INTO A GUARDRAIL AND CAME TO A STOP IN A DRIVEWAY. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED MINOR INJURIES TO THE RIBS, WHICH REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND WAS TOWED BY THE POLICE TO AN UNKNOWN LOT. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND CONCLUDED THAT THERE WAS NO FAILURE AND THE CONTACT WAS AT FAULT. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 49,000.

TAKATA RECALL WHEN I PRESS ON GAS ENGINE IS VIBRATION AND IT'S NOT MOVING. THE FRONT JUST DON'T FEEL RIGHT
WHEN DRIVING THE LEFT WHEEL VIBRATES AROUND 20-40MPH, ESPECIALLY IN RAINY WEATHER AND BEARING TO THE LEFT. WHILE ACCELERATING TO MERGE ON HIGHWAY LOTS OF NON STOP VIBRATION FROM LEFT WHEEL.
MY SUNROOF EXPLODING OUT OF NOWHERE ON THE HIGHWAY WHILE I WAS GOING 75 MPH AND I THERE WAS NO CAR IN FRONT OF ME I WAS ON THE LEFT LANE BUT THERE WAS A SEMI ON THE RIGHT LINE 6 CAR LENGTHS IN FRONT OF ME.

MY HEADLIGHTS ARE SO [XXX] THEY LOOK LIKE THEY'RE NOT ON AT ALL AND MY BRIGHT LIGHTS ARE SUPER BRIGHT PARTS OF THIS DOCUMENT HAVE BEEN REDACTED TO PROTECT PERSONALLY IDENTIFIABLE INFORMATION PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).
FOR ALMOST A YEAR NOW, I HAVE BEEN SMELLING A MILDEW ODOR COMING FROM MY VENTS. I VACUUMED THE INTERIOR CARPETS WITH BAKING SODA AND SPRAYED THE VENTS WITH LYSOL. I CHECKED UNDER THE HOOD AND UNDER THE CAR FOR ANY LEAKAGE. NOTHING. I ALSO CHANGED MY CABIN AIR FILTER AGAIN. NO POSITIVE RESULTS. MY LAST OPTION WAS TO GOOGLE TOYOTA ODOR COMPLAINTS AND BINGO, OTHER COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS ISSUE. THIS CERTAINLY IS A PROBLEM THAT TOYOTA SHOULD ADDRESS AND REPAIR, WITHOUT COST TO THE CAR OWNER.
TOYOTA UNINTENDED ACCELERATION. WHEN STOPPING AT EXIT FROM PARKING LOT CAR SUDDENLY AND POWERFULLY ACCELERATED PRESSED HARD ON BRAKE AND TURNED OFF IGNITION TO STOP IT SAME THING HAPPENED-MY DRIVEWAY 15 MINUTES LATER.
MY CAR PULLED TO THE LEFT SIDE CAUSING ME TO HAVE AN ACCIDENT
MY CAR JERKS WHILE TRYING TO SPEED UP TIL ABOUT 40 MPH. I HAVE TO TAKE OFF SLOW AND BUILD UP SPEED TO AVOID JERKING. ONCE I PASS THAT SPEED EVERYTHING IS OKAY UNTIL I HAVE TO STOP AT THE NEXT LIGHT.
FIRST NOTICED LAST YEAR 2018. HEAT AND A/C CONTROLS SEEMED TO BE FLUCTUATING. A/C STOPPED BLOWING COLD AIR A FEW TIMES, UNTIL I STARTED DRIVING A FEW MORE MILES, WORKED SOMEWHAT. NOW MARCH 2019, A/C SEEMED TO BE GETTING WARM IT IS NOT BLOWING COLD AIR AND THE OUTSIDE AIR CONTROL STAYS ON BUT SHOULD NOT WITH THE A/C CONTROL. HEAT SEEMS TO WORK ON AND OFF, JUST NOT WORKING PROPERLY. THIS IS ALL WHILE DRIVING. I LEASED THIS CAR, THE ONLY OWNER, GARAGED AND ONLY 41K MILES. I ALSO GOT A WEIRD SMELL ONE TIME BUT CAN'T REMEMBER WHEN IT WAS. I AM GOING TO CALL FLEMINGTON TOYOTA AND SEE WHAT THEY SAY. PROBABLY NOT COVERED. I AM STILL MAKING PAYMENTS AND THAT IS SO DISTRESSING AND DISHEARTENING.
TOUCH SCREEN CONTROLS ARE BECOMING NON RESPONSIVE STARTING AT LOWER RIGHT HAND CORNER. GOOGLE SEARCH SHOWS THIS IS VERY, VERY COMMON IN 2014 AND 2015 TOYOTAS. CAN' T PAIR PHONE WITH BLUETOOTH ANYMORE, SINCE "ADD" BUTTON IS IN LOWER RIGHT CORNER OF SCREEN. ALSO VERY DISTRACTING WHILE DRIVING, WHEN BUTTONS NEVER OR INTERMITTENTLY RESPOND! CONTACTED TOYOTA DEALERS AND TOYOTA HEADQUARTERS. ONE DEALER ADMITTED BEING AWARE OF THE ISSUE, BUT ALL SAY TOYOTA HASN'T ISSUED A RECALL OR WARRANTY EXTENSION! SAFETY ISSUE WITH DRIVER DISTRACTION!!!!
MY CAR STALLS THEN SHIFTS OR WHILE DRIVING IT WILL SHIFT GEARS SLOWING DOWN THEN SPEEDING UP THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE TRANSMITION. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 TOYOTA CAMRY. WHILE DRIVING 25-40 MPH, THE VEHICLE VIBRATED WITH FORCE; HOWEVER, WHEN THE SPEED WAS INCREASED TO 45-60 MPH, THE VIBRATION CEASED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO DON JACOBS TOYOTA (5727 SOUTH 27TH STREET, MILWAUKEE, WISCONSIN, (414)-281-3100) WHERE A DIAGNOSTIC TEST WAS PERFORMED AND A FAILURE CODE FOR THE TRANSMISSION TORQUE CONVERTER WAS FOUND. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THERE WAS A WARRANTY PROGRAM FOR THE TRANSMISSION FAILURE; HOWEVER, THE PROGRAM ENDED IN OCTOBER OF 2017. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 125,000.
AT 50000 MILES THERE WAS A PLASTIC CRUNCHING SOUND IN THE STEERING COLUMN. THE AIR BAG LIGHT WENT ON. OVER THE NEXT COUPLE OF WEEKS THERE WAS MORE CRUNCHING AND LOST THE CRUISE CONTROL FOLLOWED BY THE HORN AND RADIO CONTROLS. THE PHONE FUNCTION WAS THE LAST TO GO ON THE STEERING WHEEL. IT WAS DIAGNOSED AS THE CLOCK SPRING AND BECAUSE MY CAR WAS NOT IN THE RECALL FOR THE EXACT SAME THING AS OTHER TOYOTA VEHICLES I WAS TOLD THEY WOULD NOT FIX IT. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND MY AIRBAG AND HORN DO NOT WORK DUE TO A FAULTY PART THAT TOYOTA IS WELL AWARE OF. ANY HELP IN THIS MATTER WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.
IN MY OPINION THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH THE BATTERY AND OR CHARGING SYSTEM. THE VEHICLE WAS BOUGHT NEW. THE NEW BATTERY FAILED WITHIN THREE YEARS. A NEW REPLACEMENT BATTERY THEN DISPLAYED NOTABLE CORROSION STARTING AROUND FOUR MONTHS. THE INTERNET CONFIRMS THE OPINION OF A SEEMINGLY OFF GASSING PROBLEM CAUSING CORROSION ESPECIALLY ON THE POSITIVE TERMINAL AS IS MY EXPERIENCE. THE INTERNET NOTES RISKS OF BEING STRANDED WITH DEAD BATTERIES AND IN AT LEAST ONE CASE BELIEF OR OPINION THAT A HOUSE FIRE STARTING IN THE GARAGE CAUSED AROUND $300,000 OF DAMAGE. THE FIRE IS STATED TO HAVE DERIVED IN THE BATTERY LOCATION FROM A CLAIMED DEFECTIVE BATTERY. THE DEALER STATES CORROSION IS COMMON AND COSTS AROUND $55 TO SERVICE AND OR REPLACING POSITIVE BATTERY TERMINAL CLAMPS AND CONNECTING CABLES AS NEEDED. MY SISTER VEHICLE WITH AN OLDER BATTERY WERE BOTH GARAGED IN THE CALIFORNIA MODERATE CLIMATE AND HAS NO CORROSION. THE ISSUE OF A FAILURE SEEMS SUSPECTED BY TOYOTA AS THE DATE I REPORTED THE SECOND ALLEGED FAILURE, TOYOTA SENDS ME A QUESTIONNAIRE ASKING ABOUT DRIVING DISTANCES AND TIMES NOTING THE BATTERY FAILURE. THE INTERNET SUSPECTS THE SYSTEM IS OVERCHARGING. DANGER IN MY VIEW ARISES FROM BEING STRANDED OR FIRE. UNNECESSARY COST IS REQUIRED IN MY OPINION TO SERVICE AT $55 AND OR BUY NEW CLAMPS AND CABLES THAT ARE CORRODED. THE TOYOTA SURVEY CONFIRMS SUSPICION ADVANCED IN MY OPINIONS ABOUT CHARGING FAILURE SINCE QUESTIONS INCLUDE DISTANCE AND TIME DRIVEN AND STARTS AND STOPS. I HAD PLEASANT TREATMENT AT THE DEALERSHIP AND A REPORT TO THE CORPORATE TOYOTA CASE MANAGER. THE PLEASANTRIES DON'T HOWEVER ACCOUNT FOR THE COST OF SERVICE, COST OR REPLACEMENT AND ANCILLARY CONSIDERATIONS AS BEING STRANDED WITH A DEAD BATTERY IS FRAUGHT WITH UNSETTLING CONSEQUENCES. I AM A LOYAL TOYOTA CUSTOMER, THERE IS NO RANCOR OR ANIMOSITY. I OWN SEVERAL TOYOTAS AND WILL BUY AGAIN.
THE TORQUE CONVERTER WENT BAD. THE CAR SHUDDERED WHEN CHANGING GEARS. ESPECIALLY AT LOW SPEEDS.THE CAR HESITATES WHEN ACCELERATING. I HAD THE TORQUE CONVERTER REPLACED TWO MONTHS AGO AND NOW THE PROBLEM IS STARTING ALL OVER AGAIN. TOYOTA SAYS THAT MY VIN WAS NOT PART OF THEIR RECALL AND THE PROBLEM AND THE EXPENSE IS ALL MINE.
DEAD BATTERY AFTER CAR IS IDLE FOR 3-4 DAYS, THIS HAS HAPPENED 3 TIMES.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 79,080.
ON 3/5/18, I WAS PARKING MY 2014 TOYOTA CAMRY IN A PARKING LOT AT MY PLACE OF EMPLOYMENT. I HAD MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE AND THE CAR WAS BARELY MOVING WHEN SUDDENLY IT ACCELERATED OVER A CURB AND INTO A RETAINING WALL.
WHEN PRESSING THE GAS PEDAL TO ACCELERATE THE CAMRY IS EXPERIENCING HESITATION AND SEEMS TO WAIT 5-10 SECONDS BEFORE PICKING UP SPEED. I EXPERIENCED THIS WHEN ACCELERATING FROM 30-40MPH WHEN PREPARING TO MERGE INTO HIGHWAY TRAFFIC. FELT VERY DANGEROUS.
DRIVER'S SIDE SEAT BELT WILL NOT BUCKLE AND HOLD IN THE RECEIVER ON THE SEAT. THE TECH AT THE DEALER GOT THE BUCKLE TO TOLD BY ENGAGING IT INTO RECEIVER WHILE HOLDING DOWN DISCONNECT BUTTON. WE WERE TOLD NO RECALL AND WE MUST PAY FOR REPAIR.
STARTED CAR 02/17/2018 ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON WENT TO HAVE CHECKED WAS TOLD BY MECHANIC THE CALICATIC CONVERTER WAS BAD
I BEEN HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE TRANSMISSION TORQUE CONVERTER FOR ABOUT 2 YEARS WITH A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON WHILE DRIVING BETWEEN 25 MI AND 55 MI PH, THE WHEELS SHAKE AND HESITATE TO GET CONTROL , ANY RECALLS ON THAT?
THE CAR HAD BEEN GIVEN US STALL PEOBLEMS FOR QUITE A WHILE.THE TOYOTA PLACE COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE EVENTS.ON FEB 2 1918 MY WIFE DROVE OVER TO MY DAUGHTERS HOUSE .SHE PULL INTO YARD,AND WHEN SHE APPLIED THE BRAKE ABOUT 30 FEET FROM HOUSE,THE CAR EXCELETRATED INTO HOUSE WIDE OPEN.SHE SAID WHEN SHE APPLIED BRAKE IT WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR.ALL AIRBAGS DEPLOYED.THE HOUSE WAS DAMAGED,KNOCKING OUT THE FLOOR JOIST.SHE HAD PULLED INTO HOUSE AT 113 IDA ST.HOT SPRINGS AR.THE HOUSE SITS ABOUT 50 FEET FROM STREET.SINCE THE ACCIDENT SHE IS HAVING MEMORY PROBLEMS.THE VEHICLE WAS DECLARED TOTAL LOSS.WE PURCHASED A 2017 TOYOTA CAMRY LE,WITH ABOUT THE SAME MILES ON IT.WE ARE HAVING THE SAME STALL PROBLEMS WITH IT.IF YOU STOP THE PULL OUT AND TURN INTO TRAFFIC,SOMETIMES IT WILL STALL1 TO 3 SECONDS.WE ARE DEEPLY WORRIED ABOUT GETTING HIT BY ONCOMMING DRIVERS..
CAR SHUDDERS AT 45 MPH WHICH BECOMES WHOOSHING SOUND AT 55 MPH. TOOK TO DEALER, WHO SAYS IT IS PROBLEM WITH TORQUE CONVERTER. THEY CHANGED SOME COMPUTER SETTINGS WHICH MADE THE PROBLEM BETTER, BUT IT REAPPEARED 2 WEEKS LATER. NOW DEALER SAYS THERE'S NOTHING THEY CAN DO TILL TOYOTA ISSUES A RECALL FOR THE TRANSMISSION. ISUUE IS THAT THE TRANSMISSION WILL FAIL AT SOME POINT, PUTTING DRIVER AND PASSENGER LIVES ARE RISK
I JUST LEARNED THAT MY TOYOTA WAS COVERED UNDER A RESTRICTED RECALL UNTIL 10/31/17. MY CAR JUST RECENTLY STARTED SHOWING THE SAME ISSUES WITH VIBRATION AT 35-45MPH. I WOULD LIKE THIS RECALL TO BE EXTENDED TO COVER ALL CARS WITH THIS KNOWN ISSUE.

HEATER NOT BLOWING HOT AIR BLOWING COLDER AIR THAN THE AC WOULD PUT OUT DROPPED MY CAR OFF TO HAVE THE OIL CHANGE DONE HEAT WAS BLOWING HOT. PICKED UP FROM MY SERVICE DEPT WHEN DONE DROVE CAR FOR 1/2HR AND THE HEAT SEATING WAS BLOWING COLDER AIR THAN THE AC SERVICE MANGER SAID ALL WAS DONE WAS THE OIL CHANGE NOW I HAVE TO DRIVE MY CAR WITH NOW HEAT
'TAKATA RECALL' ON DEC. 20, 2017 THE SOUND IN MY TOYOTA CAMRY WENT OUT. THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP HERE IN GRENADA,MS INFORMED ME ON USING THESE PROCEDURES TO GET THE ISSSUE TOKEN CARE OF. I️ BOUGHT MY 2014 CAMRY BRAND NEW I️ AM THE FIRST OWNER
FOR THE FOURTH TIME, AN ACTUATOR IN MY 2014 CAMRY LE FAILED. I NOW HAVE HAD FOUR ' DIFFERENT ' ACTUATORS FAIL IN MY CAR. THIS AS A SAFETY ISSUE. MOST CONSUMERS EXPECT THAT IF THE CAR HAS AN AUTO-LOCK FEATURE ' AS OURS HAS' THAT IT WILL DO SO. IF ONE DEPRESSES THE REMOTE LOCK BUTTON, OR THE LOCK BUTTON ON THE DRIVER'S DOOR, THEY EXPECT ALL DOORS WILL LOCK. OUR DOORS FAIL IN ALL THESE WAYS. HAVING FOUR LOCKED DOORS IN OUR SEDAN IS A VITAL SAFETY FEATURE, BOTH DURING MOVEMENT, AND WHILE PARKED. WE BOUGHT OUR CAMRY AS A NEW CAR IN 2014. APPROXIMATELY ONE YEAR AGO AT 31K MILES, THE REAR, LEFT ACTUATOR FAILED. THE OEM PART COST $341. I PURCHASED A REPLACEMENT, AND FIXED AT MY EXPENSE IN MARCH, 2018. THE DAY OF THE REPAIR, THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE FAILED. I CALLED TOYOTA EXPERIENCE. I ASKED FOR ASSISTANCE TO WHICH THEIR RESPONSE WAS A $200 REFUND ON A NEW ACTUATOR PURCHASE FROM A TOYOTA DEALER. THE COST OF NEW OEM PART WAS $329, PLUS, INSTALLATION. I WOULD HAVE TO FOOT THE DIFFERENCE AND JUMP THROUGH VARIOUS HOOPS TO SEEK A RE-IMBURSEMENT. IN EARLY NOVEMBER 2018 THE FRONT, DRIVER DOOR ACTUATOR FAILED. REALLY, THREE ACTUATORS GOING BAD ON ONE CAR ' STARTING WITH A THREE YEAR OLD AUTOMOBILE, GARAGED AND VERY WELL MAINTAINED, WITH ONLY 31,000 MILES? IN MID NOVEMBER THE REAR, PASSENGER SIDE DID NOT PROPERLY LOCK. NOW ALL THE ACTUATORS IN OUR CAR HAVE GONE BAD IN THE LAST YEAR! THIS IS A SAFETY AND WELFARE ISSUE. WE CONSTANTLY WORRY IF ANY OF THE DOORS AUTO-LOCK ON MOVEMENT. SIMILARLY, WE WORRY THAT IF A DOOR IS LEFT UNLOCKED WE COULD BE VICTIMIZED WITH AN UNAUTHORIZED ENTRY WITH LOSS OF PERSONAL PROPERTY, VANDALISM OR ASSAULT. AS WE HAVE NEVER EXPERIENCED SIMILAR PROBLEMS WITH DOOR LOCK MECHANISMS SINCE WE STARTED DRIVING (LATE 1960S), WE THINK THIS IS A SAFETY AND QUALITY CONTROL ISSUE THAT TOYOTA SHOULD REMEDY.
MUSTY MOLD SMELL COMING FROM AIR CONDITIONING AND HEATING VENTS WHILE USING HEAT AND AIR CONDITIONING.
BOTH FRONT POWER DOOR LOCKS HAVE STOPPED OPERATING. THE LOCKS STILL WORK MANUALLY BUT IT IS CUMBERSOME WITH THE SMARTKEY, AS THE SMARTKEY HAS A VERY SMALL BLADE STYLE KEY THAT IS DIFFICULT TO REMOVE FROM THE SMARTKEY. ONLY OPENS THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR HAS A KEY HOLE AND THE BLADE STYLE ONLY GOES IN FACING ONE DIRECTION. A QUICK INTERNET SEARCH MAKE IT APPARENT THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM ACROSS ALL TOYOTA BRANDS AND MANY MODELS AND MANY YEARS. OUT OF WARRANTY COSTS TO REPAIR AT DEALER ARE $600-$1200. THIS SEEMS LIKE THE DOOR LOCK ACTUATORS FAIL PREMATURELY DUES TO POOR (PERHAPS INTENTIONAL) DESIGN.
I WAS INVOLVED IN A THREE VEHICLE ACCIDENT, IN WHICH I REAR-ENDED A CAR THAT REAR-ENDED ANOTHER. I WAS TRAVELING DOWN WILMA RUDOLPH BLVD GOING BETWEEN 45MPH-50MPH AND THOSE CARS WERE AT A COMPLETE STOP. BY THE TIME THAT I STOMPED ON BRAKES, IT WAS TOO LATE. MY SEATBELT WAS ON. AS SOON AS MY CAR MADE IMPACT WITH THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME, MY BODY SLAMMED INTO THE STEERING WHEEL. MY ARM WAS SNATCHED BY THE SEATBELT AND MY BREAST FELT INSTANT SEVERE PAIN. THE AIR DID NOT DEPLOY AT ALL. THE DAMAGES TO MY CAR INVOLVED THE FOLLOWING: DRIVER DOOR JAMMED CLOSED, HOOD BENT AND UP, AND THE FRONT OF MY CAR SMASHED INWARD. ON CHANGING CELLULAR SERVICE THIS YEAR, I GOT A NEW PHONE. INSTRUCTIONS TO ENTER IT INTO THE CAMRY'S BLUETOOTH WERE UNSUCCESSFUL, BECAUSE, AS I FOUND OUT AFTER TAKING THE CAMRY TO TOYOTA FOR SERVICE, THE BOTTOM HALF OF THE TOUCH SCREEN NO LONGER WORKS. THE BATTERY DRAINS IF THE CAR IS PARKED AND NOT DRIVEN FOR MORE THAN A DAY OR TWO. THE DEALER CHECKED THE ISSUE AND COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING. THIS ISSUE OCCURRED BEFORE; ABOUT 2 MONTHS AGO. HAVING TO DRIVE AROUND WITH A PORTABLE JUMP KIT IN MY TRUNK JUST IN CASE.

WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP THE VEHICLE WILL SOMETIMES MOVE ABOUT 10 FEET AND THEN HESITATE FOR ABOUT 1 TO 2 SECONDS. IT WILL THEN ACCELERATE NORMALLY. ONE TIME THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED TO ABOUT 20 MPH AND THEN THE ENGINE RPM RETURNED TO IDLE. THE ACCELERATOR WAS PUSHED TO THE FLOOR AND THE RPM REMAINED AT IDLE. THE ACCELERATOR WAS RELEASED AND PUSHED DOWN AGAIN. THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED NORMALLY. THIS HAPPENED ONLY ONE TIME. THE INTERMITTENT HESITATION IS VERY DANGEROUS WHEN TRYING TO CROSS A BUSY INTERSECTION WHEN THE CROSS TRAFFIC IS UNCONTROLLED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR THE PROBLEM. THE TECHNICIAN COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE CONDITION. THE U760E TORQUE CONVERTER SHUDDER RECALL UPGRADE WAS PERFORMED. THIS DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. THE SERVICE ADVISOR SAID THAT THE TECHNICIAN SAID THAT SOME TRANSMISSION HESITATION WAS NORMAL. THE SERVICE ADVISOR ALSO SAID THERE HAD BEEN OTHER COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS CONDITION. THIS CONDITION IS DANGEROUS AND NOT NORMAL.
INTERMITTENT SHUDDER : I EXPERIENCED SHUDDERING IN MY VEHICLE DURING 25--50 MPH SPEED AND SHUDDERING IS HEAVY WHEN I DRIVE UPHILL ROADS AND IN SNOW. WHEN HAPPENS I FELT VIBRATION ON THE GAS PEDAL AND SLIGHT VIBRATION ON STEERING WHEELS AND CAR WILL NOT MOVE UNDER NORMAL GAS PEDAL PRESS. I TOOK TO THE DEALER UNDER TOYOTA WARRANTY THEY REPLACED TORQUE CONVERTER AND ADDED COUPLE OF PAN MAGNETS TO COLLECT DEBRIS FROM TRANSMISSION , BUT THE PROBLEM STILL EXIST. I INFORMED TOYOTA CUSTOMER SERVICE SINCE THEN I WENT TO THE DEALER FOUR MORE TIMES FOR THE ISSUE BUT THEY COULD NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. I WAS TOLD PRESS GAS PEDAL HARDER WHEN SHUDDERING OCCURS , BUT THAT WILL LEAD TO AN ACCIDENT AND PUT THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER HARMS WAY. DURING SNOW THE POSSIBILITY OF ACCIDENT WILL BE MUCH HIGHER I HAVE TO PRESS THE GAS PEDAL HARDER AND THAT WILL LEAD TO AN SPINOFF AND ACCIDENTS. FINALLY I WAS TOLD BY TOYOTA THE ISSUE IS NOT TORQUE CONVERTER AND I HAVE TO DRIVE THE WAY IT IS. I DO NOT AGREE WITH THEM AND I WANT TOYOTA TO RECALL AND FIX THIS SHUDDERING ISSUE BEFORE PUT SOMEONE'S LIFE IN DANGER. ITS A BIG PROBLEM WHILE DRIVING. TOYOTA DENIES THE REPAIR AT THEIR COST SAYING THE CAR IS OUT OF WARRANTY. ITS JUST NOT AN ISOLATED SITUATION BUT ITS WIDE SPREAD. WHEN I FIRST ACCELERATE FROM A STOPPED POSITION & ACCELERATE THE VEHICLE LAGS AND HESITATES BEFORE IT WILL MOVE FORWARD. AT 59000 MILES THE TRANSMISSION TORQUE CONVERTER WAS REPLACED .SHORTLY AFTER THAT I NOTICED THE CAR SEEMS TO BE ALL OVER THE ROAD . THIS HAS GOTTEN MUCH WORST.SPECIALLY ON WINDY DAYS . CAN NOT TAKE A EXIT OR CHANGE LANES WITH OUT FEELING LIKE THE REAR END IS GOING TO BREAK FREE . IF ON THE HIGHWAY AND ROAD COMES INTO A CURVE FEELS LIKE YOUR GOING TO LOOSE CONTROL . I'VE HAD SEVERAL REPAIR SHOPS LOOK AT THIS CAR . THEY DROVE IT AND EXPERIENCED IT . WAST TOLD HOW DO YOU DRIVE THAT CAR. CONTACTED TOYOTA SEVERAL TIMES DO HAVE A FILE NUMBER. REQUESTING TO MEET A REP AT ANYLOCAL DEALER TO TEST DRIVE THIS CAR . WAS TOLD THEY DON'T DO THAT. WAS TOLD TO TAKE IT BACK TO DEALER WHO DID TRANSMISSION IF RELATED REPAIR UNDER WARRANTY . IF NOT I'M LIABLE FOR DIAGNOSIS CHARGES.I REFUSED .ALSO NOTE THAT I'M ON SET NUMBER 4 OF TIRES 2 SETS OF MICHELIN AND SET OF SNOWS.IVE BE AT REPLACED TIRES ON ANY CAR LIKE THIS CAR . THE ISSUE: A SERVICE PROVIDER VIOLATING THE 'MAKE INOPERATIVE' PROVISION OF THE LAW. WE PURCHASED FOUR TIRES AT SAM"S CLUB #8247, IN HOMEWOOD, AL. WHEN THEY RETURNED THE CAR WE RECEIVED AN ENVELOPE WITH THE INVOICE, THE KEYS AND A BROKEN "AIR PRESSER SENSOR". THEY JUST HANDED US THE ENVELOPE AND MADE NO MENTION OF THE BROKEN SENSOR. WE ASK THE YOUNG MAN YOU WAITED ON US 'WHAT HAPPEN' ? HE HAD NO CLUE, HE DIDN'T EVEN KNOW WHAT THE SENSOR WAS. AFTER LOOKING AT THE INVOICE SOMEONE HAD WRITTEN AT THE BOTTOM 'ROD BROKE SENSOR'. WE TALKED TO A STORE MANAGER SHE TOLD TO TAKE THE CAR TO A REPAIR SHOP, PAY FOR THE REPAIR, BRING THEM THE INVOICE AND THAT SAM'S WOULD REIMBURSE US FOR THE COST UP $350.00. IT MY UNDERSTANDING THAT THEY SHOULD HAVE REPAIRED THE SENSOR BEFORE ALLOWING THE VEHICLE TO LEAVE THEIR SHOP. THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY, ON THEIR PARKING LOT.
THE ENGINE 'STALLS' OR 'HESITATES' WHEN GOING INTO MOTION FROM A STOPPED OR SLOW POSITION, AS IN PULLING OUT INTO TRAFFIC OR TURNING ON A SIDE ROAD. IT IS SPORADIC SO I NEVER KNOW WHEN IT IS GOING TO HAPPEN. IT HAS ALMOST CAUSED ACCIDENTS ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS SINCE THE VEHICLE 'STOPS' INSTEAD OF GOING FASTER. I HAVE TO TAKE MY FOOT OFF THE GAS AND PAT THE GAS A FEW TIMES TO GET IT MOVING AGAIN. THIS HAS BEEN REPORTED SEVERAL TIMES TO MY TOYOTA DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAY EVERYTHING IS RUNNING CORRECTLY ACCORDING TO THE COMPUTER. THEY SUGGESTED I BRING IT IN WHEN IT HAPPENS, WHICH I DID SEVERAL TIMES, BUT SINCE IT IS SPORADIC, IT DIDN'T HAPPEN FOR THEM. THEY KEEP SAYING THERE IS NOTHING WRONG. THE MECHANICS SHRUG AND SAY THEY HAVE NOT HEARD OF ANYONE ELSE WITH THIS ISSUE, BUT FROM READING THIS, I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE. WHEN AN ACCIDENT HAPPENS, LET IT BE KNOWN NOW THAT I HAVE MADE IT PUBLIC THAT THERE IS INDEED A PROBLEM WITH THE CAR THAT THEY NEED TO ADDRESS. THE CAR HAS BEEN HAPPENING EVER SINCE I BOUGHT IT NEW AND HAPPENS SEVERAL TIMES A MONTH TO THIS DAY.
THE DRIVER DOOR WILL NOT LOCK WITH THE REMOTE AND NOW THE PASSENGER DOORS WILL NOT LOCK OR UNLOCK THE REMOTE OR MANUALLY.
