MY TOYODA CORROLLA HAD TWO RECALLS ONE IS THE DEFECTIVE ECM WHICH CAUSES THE CAE TO BE UN RISK OF A SERIOUS ACCIDENT BECAUSE IT CAN STALL WHILE DRIVING, THIS PROBLEMAS DAMAGED MY CAR TRANSMISIN AFTER THEY SUPPOSEDLY CHANGED THE PART, THEY EITHER DIDNT FIXED IT OR REPLACED IT WITH ANOTHER DEFECTIVE PART, NOW MY CAR HESITATES ABD CHEK ENGINE LIGHT IS ALWAYS ON DUE TO THE ECM AGAIN NOT FUNCTIONING PROPERLY, I CONTACTES TOYOTA CORPORATE AND AL THEY DID WAS TO GIVE ME THE RUN AROUND I CONTACTES THE CEO AND HE REJECTED MY EMAILS, I WANT THIS TO BE REPORTES UN CASE ME ABD MY CHILD CAN GET INJURED DUE TO THAT DEFECT TOYOTA DIDNT FIXED PROPERLY.ANY HELP WILL BE APPRECIATED.
TRANSMISSION SENSORS PROBLEM A NUMBER OF SENSORS THAT ARE BEING INDICATED AS NOT WORKING WHEN A COMPUTER CHECK TO DONE BY A MACANIC AT REPAIR SHOP. REQUEST ED RECALL CHECKS.
TORQUE CONVERTER CLUTCH SOLENOID PERFORMANCE. MY 18 OLD DAUGHTER JUST PURCHASED THIS CAR FROM THIS MAN WHO HAD RESET THE CAR SO THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WOULD GO OFF. AFTER US DRIVING IT HOME AND SERVER MILES LATER IT WENT OFF. HE SAID HE HAD FLUSHED THE TRANSMISSION OIL AND THAT HIS MECHANIC HAD TOLD HIM TO JUST RESET IT AND IT WOULD BE FINE OBVIOUSLY IT WAS NOT FINE. WE TOOK IT TO OUR MECHANIC WHO IS A VERY HONEST MECHANIC HAD STATED THAT THERE'S NOTHING WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE . HE PULLED UP SOME RECALLS AND INDICATED THAT THERE WAS A RECALL DONE ON MODELS 04305 COROLLA UNFORTUNATELY THE VIN NUMBERS WERE 1ZZ -FE. I'M CALLING THE DEALERSHIPS AND ALL THEY CAN TELL ME IS THAT THIS MAY HAVE BEEN AN EXPIRED RECALL ON MY VEHICLE THEREFORE IT'S NO LONGER UNDER THE WARRANTY OF THE RECALL . THEY'RE NOT TELLING ME THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ON THIS THEY'RE JUST SAYING THAT THERE IS NO RECALL ON THIS PARTICULAR VIN NUMBER . WITH ALL THE RESEARCH I HAVE DONE I'VE SEEN A LOT OF THIS ISSUE HAS ARRIVED WITH OTHER VIN NUMBERS BUT NO RECALL HAS BEEN OPEN . AT THIS POINT I'M NOT EVEN TOO SURE WHAT TO DO OTHER THAN GET A NEW TRANSMISSION OR REBUILT THIS TRANSMISSION.
ONLY 94,000 MILES, FULLY DEALER MAINTAINED, 5 SPEED MANUAL TRANSMISSION. TRAVELING AT EXPRESSWAY SPEEDS AND LOUD SCREECHING/BANGING FROM TRANSMISSION. WAS ABLE TO DRIVE 6 MORE MILES TO DEALERSHIP, BUT MOVED TO RIGHT LANE AND WENT SLOWER. STILL WAS ABLE TO SHIFT, LOWER GEARS WEREN'T ENGAGING PROPERLY AND CAR STARTED DYING ON THE ROAD. DEALER DIAGNOSIS FOR $100 IS THAT IT NEEDS AN ENTIRE NEW 5 SPD TRANS AND CLUTCH ASSEMBLY, ALTHOUGH CLUTCH SEEMS FINE.I'VE DRIVEN MANUAL TRANS FOR OVER 40 YRS. THIS CAR NEVER EVEN HAD A CLUTCH REPAIR. RESEARCH ON THE WEB INDICATES THAT THIS IS A KNOWN POINT OF FAILURE THAT TOYOTA HAS CHOSEN NOT TO FIX AND THE POTENTIAL DANGER OF HAVING THIS TRANSMISSION BLOWING OUT AT HIGH SPEED COULD HAVE CAUSED A MAJOR CRASH ON THE HIGHWAY HAD I NOT BEEN SKILLED AT GETTING THE CAR INTO A SAFE AREA. *TR
REPORTING SUSPICIOUS CAR BEHAVIOR, IN RESPONSE TO RECENT CONCERN FOR CAR HACKING AND CYBER ATTACKS ON CARS.
THE VEHICLE STARTED SHOWING THE "CHECK ENGINE LIGHT" AND THE ERROR CODE SHOWN WAS P0741. THE ERROR CODE SUGGESTS ISSUE WITH THE TRANSMISSION CLUTCH CONVERTER SOLENOID. THIS ISSUES SEEMS TO BE COMMON ON THE 2005 COROLLA AND COULD BE A SAFETY ISSUE IF THE TRANSMISSION DIES IMMEDIATELY WHILE DRIVING ON A FREEWAY OR HIGH-SPEED ROAD.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 74,000.
THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND WAS SCANNED BY A LOCAL SHOP WAS ADVISED OF THE CODE P0741 WAS TOLD MY TRANSMISSION WOULD NEED TO BE REPAIRED AT THE COST OF 2495.00 I HAVE NOT HAD THE MONEY TO FIX THE CAR WAS TOLD BY A FRIEND WHO WORKS FOR A SHOP THERE WAS A TSB FOR THIS CODE FOR MY CAR CALLED TOYOTA AND WAS TOLD THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO SINCE THE WARRANTY IS UP ON MY CAR. I ASKED WHY THIS WAS NOT ADDRESSED WHEN MY CAR WAS TAKEN FOR THE ECM RECALL AND THE LADY FROM TOYOTA NAMED [XXX] BECAME VERY RUDE AND TOLD ME THERE IS NOTHING WE CAN DO AND THERE IS NO CUSTOMER SUPPORT PROGRAM AVAILABLE FOR YOUR VEHICLE AND ASKED IF THERE IS ANYTHING ELSE SHE COULD HELP ME WITH. IN APRIL 2012 I BROUGHT MY VEHICLE TO A TOYOTA DEALERSHIP FOR SERVICE; THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON. APPARENTLY THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE ECM OF THE CAR. IT WAS REPLACED AND SEEMED FINE. IN JULY I HEARD A GRINDING SOUND ON MY CAR. I BROUGHT IT TO A DEALERSHIP AND THEY FIXED THE ISSUE. IT WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE FUEL LINE. THEY DID A FLUSH ON ALL FLUIDS AND OTHER WORK. THE CAR WORKS GREAT. A WEEK LATER THE VEHICLE IS "CHOKING AND JERKING" WHEN I HIT THE GAS. SOUNDS LIKE THE TRANSMISSION. DEALERSHIP STATES IT IS A TRANSMISSION ISSUE. THEY LOOK IT OVER AND NOW I NEED A NEW TRANSMISSION. I'VE NEVER HAD A PROBLEM WITH THE CAR BEFORE. I WAS NOT PROVIDED INFORMATION WHEN THE CAR WAS THERE ORIGINALLY ABOUT THE TRANSMISSION; I WAS DRIVING WITH A BAD TRANSMISSION. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED BY A DEALER AND ADVISED HER THAT SHE NEEDED TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED BUT OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 144,800.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE SAME FAILURE CODES WERE PRODUCED BY THE DIAGNOSTIC AND THAT THE TRANSMISSION WOULD ALSO NEED REPLACING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT FURTHER REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND ADVISED THAT A CASE MANAGER WOULD BE IN TOUCH WITH THE CONTACT. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 69,000.
I OWE A TOYOTA MATRIX 2005, WHICH WAS PURCHASED ON 11/2004. THE CAR CURRENTLY HAS 23,280 MILES AND HAS BEEN ROUTINELY SERVICED AT WESTCHESTER TOYOTA SINCE ITS PURCHASE. BEFORE BRINGING MY CAR IN FOR SERVICE TO WESTCHESTER TOYOTA ON 11/11/10, THE 'CHECK ENGINE LIGHT' HAD NEVER COME ON AND MY CAR WAS NOT GENERATING THE CURRENT VIBRATING NOISE. I AM NOT QUALIFIED TO DETERMINE WHETHER WT COULD HAVE INTENTIONALLY OR INADVERTENTLY CAUSED THE DAMAGE TO MY CAR, BUT I CONSIDER THE POSSIBILITY THAT THE DAMAGE TO MY CAR'S TRANSMISSION COULD HAVE BEEN CAUSED BY THEM. BASED ON WHAT THE SERVICE MANAGER , MR. WILLIAM VESEY, INDICATED DURING MY MEETINGS WITH HIM, THE TRANSMISSION MAY HAD BEEN DAMAGED /MALFUNCTIONING ALL ALONG WHILE THE CAR WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY BUT THE DAMAGE/MALFUNCTION WAS NEVER DETECTED BECAUSE THE ORIGINAL ECM ON THE CAR MAY HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO DETECT THE DAMAGE SINCE THE ECM WAS FAULTY ITSELF. FOR THIS REASON, WHEN THE ECM WAS REPLACED ON 11/11/10 DUE TO THE RECALL, THE NEW ECM WAS ABLE TO DETECT THE PROBLEM WITH THE TRANSMISSION AND GENERATED THE TRANSMISSION ERROR CODE. SINCE THE ECM WAS RECALLED AFTER MY WARRANTY HAD EXPIRED AND ITS MALFUNCTIONING MOST LIKELY PREVENTED THE DETECTION OF THE TRANSMISSION ERROR, I BELIEF TOYOTA SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR REPLACING THE TRANSMISSION. IN ADDITION , THE TRANSMISSION ALSO APPEARS TO BE A FAULTY PART WHICH MAY BE RECALLED IN THE FUTURE BASED ON THE TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN PROVIDED TO ME BY MR. VESEY. WESTCHESTER TOYOTA SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR REPLACING THE TRANSMISSION, FREE OF CHARGE INCLUDING ANY LABOR AND PARTS CHARGES. TOYOTA MOTOR SALES USA SHOULD AUTHORIZE AND COVER THE CHARGES FOR THE TRANSMISSION REPLACEMENT. THE EARLIER RECALL OF MY CAR'S ENGINE CONTROL MODULE (ECM) WOULD HAVE ALLOWED FOR THE DETECTION OF ANY TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS WHILE MY CAR WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY. *TR
WHILE ATTEMPTING TO PARK THE VEHICLE IN REVERSE, SUDDENLY IT ACCELERATED WITHOUT WARNING. THE BRAKES WERE APPLIED BUT WOULD NOT ENGAGE CAUSING THE CONTACT TO CRASH INTO A CAR AND THEN INTO A ROCK WALL. THE PASSENGER SUFFERED INJURIES TO HER BACK. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED FOR THE INCIDENT.

THE OTHER DAY OUT OF NO WHERE, NO WARNINGS, NO NOTICEABLE CHANGES THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, WHILE CRUISING UP THE 14 NORTH AT 75 MPH. DIDN'T THINK MUCH OF IT, STOPPED AT A FRIENDS HOUSE AND USED HIS OBD2 READER AND FOUND OUT THE ISSUE, STILL HAVEN'T NOTICED MUCH OF AN ISSUE EXCEPT FOR THE SHARP HARSH SHIFTING FROM 1ST THRU 3RD UNLESS BABYING IT. SO I GO INTO THE DEALER WITH 94786MILES AND SEE WHAT'S THE ISSUE AND WHY SO MANY PROBLEMS. I WAS TOLD YES ITS KNOWN A TSB HAS BEEN PUBLISHED, YES ITS A SAFETY HAZARD TO ANYONE ON OR AROUND THE ROAD DUE TO THE FACT IT COULD SHUT DOWN AT A MOMENTS NOTICE. BUT SINCE I AM PAST THE 80000 MI. WARRANTY THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO EXCEPT OFFER ME A 10% DISCOUNT AND PAY 693.00 TO HAVE IT REPLACED, AND THERE IS NO GUARANTEE IT WILL BE PERFECT AGAIN, MANY OF OUR CUSTOMERS HAVE HAD TO RETURN MULTIPLE TIMES FOR IT WHICH THE WARRANTY COVERS. OUR 2005 TOYOTA COROLLA (102,000 MILES) EXPERIENCES VERY HARD AUTOMATIC SHIFTING THAT MAKES IT SOMETIMES DIFFICULT TO CONTROL WHILE DRIVING. THIS JUST HAPPENED SUDDENLY. AT FIRST THE PROBLEM WAS JUST INTERMITTENT, BUT NOW IT HAPPENS EVERY TIME THE CAR CHANGES GEARS. WE RESEARCHED ONLINE AND SAW THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM WITH 05-07 TOYOTAS OF CERTAIN MODELS, AND THAT IT'S DUE TO A FAULTY ECM. UNFORTUNATELY, TOYOTA REFUSES TO REPLACE THE ECM, WHICH IS THE ONLY ($1000+) SOLUTION. *TR
