The contact's mother owns a 2006 Toyota Corolla. The contact stated while reversing out of a parking space and as she shifted the vehicle into drive, the vehicle surged forward. The contact's mother lost control of the vehicle and crashed into several vehicles and then a curb and turned the vehicle ignition off. The contact's mother stated she had no brakes. The contact sustained bruises to her left and right legs by the knees and both wrists were bruised. Additionally, the contact had pain in her left and right shoulders. The contact did not seek medical attention. The other vehicles were not occupied. The contact stated she did not notice any warning lights were illuminated. The police were on the scene and filed a report. The contact's mother had the vehicle towed to her residence and then later towed to a dealer. The dealer did not inspect the vehicle, however, the manufacturer had an independent mechanic inspect the vehicle brakes. The mechanic determined that there were no mechanical problems with the brakes. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 42,000.
TL* THE CONTACT CALLED ON BEHALF OF HER HUSBAND WHO OWNS A 2006 TOYOTA MATRIX. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE HER HUSBAND DRIVING AT 5 MPH AT A YIELD, ANOTHER VEHICLE BEHIND WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH AND REAR ENDED THE VEHICLE. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT CRASHED INTO THE OTHER VEHICLE IN FRONT. NO AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED INJURIES TO BOTH HIS LEGS BUT DID NOT REQUIRE MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE WIFE WHO WAS THE PASSENGER SUSTAINED RIGHT KNEE, BACK, NECK, AND SHOULDERS INJURIES THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION AND WAS SEEN AT A HOSPITAL. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACTS RESIDENCE WHERE AN ADJUSTER WAS TO INSPECT THE VEHICLE. A DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
CAR STALLED WHILE TURNING AT AN INTERSECTION; CAR WAS IN MOTION. DASHBOARD WENT BLACK. NO POWER OR CONTROL OF VEHICLE. WAS UNABLE TO RESTART VEHICLE WITH MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS. ALL SYSTEMS WERE 'DEAD'. AFTER ~ 30 MINUTES, WAS ABLE TO SPONTANEOUSLY START VEHICLE AND DRIVE. BATTERY HAD BEEN REPLACED~18 MOS. AGO; TANK WAS FULL.
ECU FAILED
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2006 TOYOTA COROLLA. WHILE THE CONTACT'S MOTHER WAS PULLING INTO THE DRIVEWAY, HER FOOT BECAME STUCK ON THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL AND THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE. AS A RESULT, THE DRIVER CRASHED INTO THE LIVING ROOM WALL OF HER HOME. THE DRIVER'S FACE STRUCK THE STEERING WHEEL. THE AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY SERVICED PER AN UNKNOWN RECALL RELATED TO THE AIR BAGS. THE CONTACT'S MOTHER SUSTAINED BRUISES TO THE FACE, CHEST, AND BLEEDING OF THE BRAIN. MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS RECEIVED. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED AND DEEMED TOTALED BY THE DRIVER'S INSURANCE COMPANY. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT NOTIFIED. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 68,000.

I OWN A 2006 TOYOTA COROLLA THAT WAS INVOLVED IN THE ECM RECALL CAMPAIGN, IN 2011 I TOOK MY TOYOTA TO MY LOCAL DEALER (BAYSIDE TOYOTA) AND THEY INSPECTED THE ECM UNIT AND DEEMED IT OK, NOT IN THE RECALL SERIAL NUMBERS. IN 2018 MY TOYOTA FAILED STATE EMISSIONS (NO OBD-2 PORT COMMUNICATION) AND BEGAN STALLING AND DIFFICULT STARTING. I REMOVED THE ECM UNIT AND DISCOVERED THAT THE SERIAL NUMBERS ARE WITHIN THE 2011 RECALL PARAMETERS. I BROUGHT THE TOYOTA BACK TO MY LOCAL DEALER, THEY INSPECTED THE ECM AND AGREE THAT IT WAS WITHIN THE RECALL SERIAL NUMBERS. MY TOYOTA HAS BEEN AT THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP (BAYSIDE) SINCE THURSDAY, JANUARY 8 2019. THE DEALER HAS INDICATED THAT TOYOTA CORP. HAS NOT APPROVED THE ECM REPLACEMENT. I HAVE DONE EVERYTHING ON MY END TO GET THIS REPAIRED UNDER THE INITIAL RECALL PROGRAM WITHOUT ANY LUCK. WHAT CAN I DO TO ENSURE MY TOYOTA IS SAFE TO DRIVE AT THE DEALERS COST? LEFT FRONT SEAT BELT LATCH BUCKLE FELL APART AND COULD NOT BE BUCKLED. HAD TO PAY THE DEALERSHIP $175.64 TO REPLACE IT ON 03 JUNE 2014. PAID $54.66 FOR PARTS, $115 FOR LABOR $1.43 FOR MISC CHARGES AND $4.55 FOR SALES TAX. YESTERDAY, THE BUCKLE THEY REPLACED BROKE AND CANNOT BE BUCKLED. I WILL HAVE TO HAVE IT REPLACED FOR A SECOND TIME, 4.5 YEARS AFTER REPLACING THE FIRST SEAT BELT LATCH BUCKLE. DEFINITELY A SAFETY HAZARD THAT TOYOTA SHOULD BE PAYING FOR AND NOT THE CONSUMER, NOT TO MENTION A LIABILITY. HOW LONG SHOULD SEAT BELT LATCH BUCKLES LAST? THIS WILL BE THE THIRD ONE IN TWELVE YEARS. THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY AS I WAS BUCKLING UP TO DRIVE. COULD NOT BUCKLE UP IN THE DRIVER'S SEAT DUE TO BROKEN LATCH BUCKLE. I HAVE THE RECEIPT FROM THE DEALER FOR FIRST REPAIR ON 03 JUNE 2014. I WILL HAVE A SECOND RECEIPT AFTER THIS SECOND REPLACEMENT OF THE SEAT BELT LATCH BUCKLE. IS IT SAFE TO DRIVE THIS VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR THE REPAIR? SHOULD IT BE TOWED? I HAVE AN APPOINTMENT FOR MONDAY. DEALERSHIP SAID I COULD "DROP IT OFF" SUNDAY AND LEAVE THE KEY IN THE DROP BOX. I GUESS THEY THINK IT IS SAFE FOR ME TO DRIVE IT TO THEIR DEALERSHIP. THAT IS WHAT I DID FOR THE FIRST REPLACEMENT 4.5 YEARS AGO IN 2014. IF AN ACCIDENT OCCURS ON MY WAY TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIR AND RESULTS IN INJURY OR DEATH, IS TOYOTA LIABLE FOR THEIR DEFECTIVE SEAT BELT LATCH?
WE HAD OUR CAR SERVICED JUST PRIOR TO HITTING 300,000 MILES ON THE ODOMETER. AFTER A WEEK OR SO WE OBSERVED THAT THE ODOMETER HAD NOW STUCK ON 299,999 AND FAILED TO MOVE FORWARD AFTERWARDS. 11-16-18 CALLED AND TALKED TO RICARDO AT THERE NATIONWIDE CUSTOMER SERVICE NUMBER. THEY STATED TO CONTACT OUR LOCAL CUSTOMER RELATIONS MGR IN VENTURA, CA. I PLACED A CALL AND RELAYED MY PROBLEM TO PATRICIA (XXXXX). SHE PUT ME IN TOUCH WITH RICHARD IN THEIR OFFICE WHO CTC THE REGIONAL PARTS MGR TO SEE IF THEY WERE COVERING PARTS WITH THIS PROBLEM I HEARD BACK TODAY THEY WERE NOT. MENTIONED IF YOU GOOGLED THIS PROBLEM THERE WERE NUMEROUS REPORTS IN THE PAST INCLUDING ONE BY NBC LOS ANGELES OCTOBER 1, 2014. I MENTIONED THIS AS WELL, BUT THEY STATED THEY WERE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM BUT AREN'T COVERING BECAUSE THEY ARE OUT OF WARRANTY. I ASKED HOW YOU EXPECT TO HIT 300,000 MILES WITHIN THE WARRANTY PERIOD, BUT IT'S OBVIOUSLY A DEFECT. THE COST THRU TOYOTA IS $700+. I JUST FEEL I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO JUST GETS TOLD IT'S NOT COVERED AND IS LEFT HANGING; EITHER, PAY THE AMOUNT OF MONEY OF FOREVER HAVE YOU SERVICE TIMINGS OUT OF WHACK. PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS AND TELL ME WHAT CAN BE DONE NEXT. STEERING WHEEL AIR BAG SPIRAL CABLE BROKE. THE DASHBOARD LIGHT WENT ON DIAGNOSTICS INDICATED DETACHED CABLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 TOYOTA COROLLA. WHEN THE CONTACT SHIFTED THE GEAR LEVER FROM DRIVE INTO PARK, THE GEAR LEVER WOULD NOT LOCK INTO PLACE. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE GEAR WAS LOOSE AND THAT THE EMERGENCY BRAKE NEEDED TO BE APPLIED TO STOP THE VEHICLE FROM ROLLING FORWARD. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE SHIFTER CABLE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING OR REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 200,000.

TL* TAKATA RECALL. THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 TOYOTA COROLLA MATRIX. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 18V025000 (AIR BAGS). THE CONTACT CALLED PALM BEACH TOYOTA (LOCATED AT 200 SOUTH CONGRESS, WEST PALM BEACH, FL, 33406, 561-701-9306) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE PART FOR THE RECALL REPAIR WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE.
TAKATA RECALL. CAR WAS BROUGHT IN FOR THE RECALL IN AUGUST 2018. TOLD BY THE DEALERSHIP THAT THE ENTIRE MODULE NEEDS TO BE REPLACED (BECAUSE THE STICKER ON THE AIRBAG WAS MISSING FROM A CAR THAT IS OVER 12 YEARS OLD) AND THE PARTS NECESSARY WERE ON BACK ORDER & IT WOULD TAKE 6 MONTHS TO COME IN. IN DECEMBER, I WAS TOLD THERE WERE AROUND 205 PEOPLE IN FRONT OF ME ON THE LIST FOR THE SAME PART. I'VE CONTACTED TOYOTA'S CORPORATE OFFICE MULTIPLE TIMES WITH NO ETA, AND VERY LITTLE CUSTOMER SERVICE IN TRYING TO GET THIS RESOLVED. AS OF FEBRUARY 2019, I STILL DO NOT HAVE MY CAR FIXED AND IT'S SITTING AT THE DEALERSHIP WHILE I"M FORCED TO DRIVE A LOANER THAT I HAVE TO RENEW EVERY 30 DAYS. I CALLED TOYOTA'S REGIONAL OFFICE A FEW WEEKS AGO AND WAS TOLD THAT THIS MAY TAKE YEARS BEFORE THE PARTS ARE IN AND READY BECAUSE THE PARTS HAVE TO GO THROUGH TOYOTA TESTING AND THE GOVERNMENT. I WAS ORIGINALLY TOLD THIS WOULD BE A 3 HOUR FIX, NOW IT'S BEEN OVER 6 MONTHS AND THERE'S STILL NO END IN SIGHT WHEN THE PARTS NECESSARY WILL BE RECEIVED WHILE MY CAR ROTS FROM DISUSE ON THE TOYOTA DEALERSHIP GROUNDS. THE ONLY REASON I BROUGHT MY CAR IN WAS BECAUSE TOYOTA WAS HASSLING ME ABOUT THE RECALL AND NOW THEY MAY NEVER HAVE THE PARTS IN TO FIX IT (AT LEAST WHERE I CAN STILL DRIVE MY CAR). THIS IS ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE THAT PARTS ARE NOT BEING PRODUCED TO FIX THESE ISSUES THAT TOYOTA KNOWS ABOUT IN A TIMELY MANNER.
COMPLETED, HOWEVER, THE CAR WAS IN AN ACCIDENT FOLLOWING THIS REPAIR AND THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE CAR FLIPPED AND WAS SMASHED COMPLETELY IN THE FRONT AND ON THE LEFT SIDE. IT APPEARS THAT THIS IS A CRASH WHERE THE AIRBAGS SHOULD HAVE DEPLOYED. THE CAR WAS IN MOTION ON A RURAL STREET AND LOST CONTROL WHEN THE FRONT TIRE GOT CAUGHT IN A RUT ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD.
The car went to replace the air bag with a hood and everything seemed fine but the SRS light activated every so often. this is happening since they changed the air bag and it turns it on and off whenever it wants for seconds the car has barely 22,000 miles and has not been crashed this has been happening since they changed the car's air bag air bag in the authorized toyota dealer of santana puerto rico
I RECENTLY HAD TO TAKE MY CAR INTO THE LOCAL TOYOTA DEALERSHIP BECAUSE MY AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON AND WOULD NOT GO OFF. I TOLD THE SERVICE REP THAT I HAD JUST RECENTLY HAD BROUGHT IT IN ON THE RECALL ISSUED REGARDING THE AIRBAG DEFECT. I WAS TOLD IT WOULD COST ME $131 JUST TO DIAGNOSIS IT. I ARGUED THAT IT SHOULD NOT COST ME ANYTHING SINCE THERE WAS INITIAL ISSUES WITH THE AIRBAG. I CALLED THE RECALL PEOPLE AND THEY AGREED WITH ME. I TOOK MY CAR IN AND WAS TOLD BY THE TECH THAT THE PROBLEM WAS RELATED TO THE SPIRAL COIL CABLE IN THE AIRBAG. HE SAID IT WAS A NONRELATED ISSUE, WHICH I ARGUED HOW COULD IT NOT BE IF ITS RELATED TO THE AIRBAG. HE TOLD ME THAT MY AIRBAG MAY OR MAY NOT DEPLOY BECAUSE OF THE SPIRAL COIL. I FAIL TO SEE HOW THE 2 ARE NOT INTERCONNECTED. IF ONE PART OF THE AIRBAG MANUFACTURING WAS DEFECTED THEN IT ONLY REASONS THAT OTHER PARTS OF THE AIRBAG COULD ALSO BE DEFECTIVE. SINCE THEY BOTH ARE RELATED TO DEPLOYMENT. IF THE MANUFACTURE COULD PRODUCE ONE DEFECTIVE PART OR USE DEFECTIVE MATERIAL WHY COULD IT NOT BE REASONED THAT OTHER PARTS ARE DEFECTIVE TOO. THE MANUFACTURE SHOULD BE CONCERNED WITH PUBLIC AND INDIVIDUAL SAFETY NOT PROFIT.! UPON FURTHER INVESTIGATION I FOUND OTHERS ARE HAVING THE SAME ISSUES. THEY MADE AND EXPENSIVE PRODUCT AT THE COST OF THE CONSUMER (LIVES, MONEY, TIME, AND SAFETY).ALL AIRBAG ISSUES SHOULD BE INCLUDED IN THIS RECALL UNTIL THE PROPER ISSUES IS IDENTIFIED. MAYBE THE SENSOR AND THE SPIRAL COIL ARE CONNECTED IN PROPER DEPLOYMENT. THIS NEEDS TO BE INVESTIGATED ASAP AND ANOTHER RECALL ISSUED BEFORE MORE INJURIES AND DEATHS OCCUR. CONSUMER SAFETY SHOULD BE NUMBER 1 PRIORITY IN FIXING AND RESOLVING THIS ISSUE. I SCARED TO DRIVE MY CAR BUT I HAVE TO.!!! NOT KNOWING IF THE AIRBAG WILL OR WILL NOT DEPLOY IN THE EVENT OF ACCIDENT OR IF I HIT A POT HOLE IS JUST TO RISKY. TOYOTA SHOULD FIX ALL AIRBAG COMPLAINTS AND ISSUES WITHOUT COST!!!
AIR BAG LIGHT CAME ON AND WOULD NOT GO OFF. HAD TO HAVE THE SPIRAL CABLE REPLACED. IT WAS NOT PART OF A RECALL ON THIS PARTICULAR VEHICLE. NOTE: IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN RECALLED AND REPLACED BY TOYOTA.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2006 TOYOTA COROLLA. WHILE ANOTHER VEHICLE WAS MERGING ONTO THE HIGHWAY, THE CONTACT DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL TO DECELERATE, BUT ENDED UP REAR ENDING THE MERGING VEHICLE. THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE AIR BAG VIOLENTLY DEPLOYED, CAUSING CHEST INJURIES TO THE CONTACT THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE DRIVER OF THE OTHER VEHICLE SUSTAINED INJURIES THAT ALSO NEEDED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A TOWING FACILITY AND DEEMED DESTROYED. I RECIEVED THE AIR BAG ERROR LIGHT COMING ON.
ON FIVE SEPARATE OCCASIONS MY 2006 TOYOTA COROLLA EXPERIENCED SUDDEN ACCELERATION. VEHICLE EACH TIME WAS AT VERY LOW SPEED, APPROXIMATELY 5 MPH, GOING FROM PARK TO DRIVE OR PARK TO REVERSE, WITH LIGHT PRESSURE APPLIED TO BRAKES. ENGINE BEGAN TO RACE AND ACCELERATE, BRAKING HARDER HAD NO EFFECT, AND VEHICLE STOPPED ONLY WHEN SHIFTED TO PARK. INSTANCES OCCURRED WHILE PARALLEL PARKING OR COMING OUT OF A DRIVEWAY ONTO A BUSY STREET. ACCELERATOR WAS NOT STUCK IN DOWN POSITION, BUT ENGINE ROARED AND RACED ON ITS OWN POWER. I HAD NO CONTROL OF VEHICLE DURING THE FOUR OR FIVE SECONDS IT TOOK ME TO SHIFT INTO PARK. VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO DEALER ON NOVEMBER 17, 2017 AFTER FIRST THREE INCIDENTS, WITH SERVICE DEPARTMENT FINDING NO PROBLEM. VEHICLE WAS BROUGHT TO DEALER AGAIN ON FEBRUARY 14, 2018, AFTER TWO MORE INCIDENTS OF SUDDEN ACCELERATION. SERVICE DEPARTMENT COULD NOT REPLICATE THE PROBLEM AND SAID THEY COULD FIND NOTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR. THEY SUGGESTED USER ERROR, MY CONFUSING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WITH THE BRAKE PEDAL. IT WAS NOT USER ERROR AND NOT FLOOR MATS STUCK UNDER GAS PEDAL. IT HAPPENED FIVE TIMES AND THE VEHICLE IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE.

AFTER DROPPING OFF THE CAR THEY CALLED AND SAID THEY HAD MADE A MISTAKE AND THEY DID NOT HAVE THE AIRBAG UNIT TO REPLACE. THIS IS A SERIOUS PROBLEM THAT I FEEL IS BEING NEGLECTED .
TAKATA RECALL - AIR BAG LIGHT POPPED ON WHEN CAR WAS STATIONARY. TOOK IT INTO THE TOYOTA DEALER TO CHECK IT OUT. THE DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PROBLEM FROM THE DEALER IS THAT THE AIR BAG IN PASSENGER SEAT HAS AN INTERMITTENT OPEN. CAN I GET AN APPROVAL VOUCHER TO FIX THIS AIR BAG AT NO COST? THE QUOTED AMOUNT TO GET THIS FIXED IS $827.10 PLUS TAX.
ON NOVEMBER 22, 2017 CLOSE TO 3 P.M., I WAS DRIVING A 2006 TOYOTA COROLLA IN THE PASSING LANE ON I-90 EAST NEAR SYRACUSE, NY. THERE WAS A WHITE FORD PICKUP TRUCK DRIVING IN FRONT OF ME. THERE WAS A POLICE CAR'S FLASHING LIGHTS AHEAD OF US IN THE LEFT SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY. BOTH THE PICKUP TRUCK AND I MOVED INTO THE RIGHT LANE. THE FORD PICKUP HIT THEIR BRAKES, AT WHICH POINT I SLAMMED ON MY BRAKES. THE COROLLA SLOWED DOWN FOR A SPLIT SECOND, AND THEN THE BRAKES GAVE WAY. I WAS PUSHING DOWN THE BRAKE PEDAL ALL THE WAY THE WHOLE TIME, BUT THE COROLLA CONTINUED TO GO FORWARD AT THE SAME SPEED. THE COROLLA THEN HIT THE REAR OF THE FORD PICKUP TRUCK. MY EYEGLASSES FLEW OFF MY FACE, AND MY DRIVER'S SEATBELT CAUGHT, BUT THE COROLLA FRONT AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. AS A RESULT OF THE ACCIDENT, THE COROLLA WAS TOTALED. HAD THE COROLLA'S BRAKES FUNCTIONED PROPERLY, I BELIEVE I WOULD HAVE COME TO A FULL STOP AND NOT HIT THE FORD PICK UP TRUCK.
TAKATA RECALL I HAD MY PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG RECALLED AND REPAIRED. NOW I AM CONCERNED THAT THE DRIVER SIDE AIRBAG LIGHT IS CONTINUING TO STAY LIT. IF THE PASSENGER SIDE WAS RECALLED SHOULDN'T THE DRIVER SIDE ALSO BE RECALLED. THEY ARE BOTH THE SAME BRAND AIRBAG. I HAVEN'T RECEIVED A RECALL FOR THE DRIVER'S SIDE, BUT NOW THAT MY AIRBAG LIGHT FOR THE DRIVER'S SIDE IS COMING ON AND STAYING ON I AM VERY CONCERNED. THE DEALERSHIP IS TELLING ME THAT THEY WOULD HAVE TO PUT IT ON A DIAGNOSTIC MACHINE WHICH WILL COST ME $135.00. IF THE DRIVER SIDE AIRBAG IS PART OF A RECALL THAT I HAVEN'T BEEN NOTIFIED OF, WHY SHOULD I PAY FOR DIAGNOSTIC?

AN UNKNOWN DEALER WAS CONTACTED AT 540-570-4700 IN GARRISONVILLE, VA, AND STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL. THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 82,800.
PULLED INTO PARKING SPACE WITH BRAKE ON AND THE CAR ACCELERATED PUSHING ME OVER A LARGE ROCK WHICH PUNCTURED TRANSMISSION PAN. HAD TO BE TOWED HOME. IF THERE WERE PEOPLE IN FRONT OF ME THEY WOULD BE DEAD.

THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED AT ROCKLAND TOYOTA LOCATED AT: 618 NEW YORK ROUTE 303, BLAUVELT, NY 10913, (845) 367-4219, UNDER THE NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V28500 (AIR BAGS) IN DECEMBER OF 2016. LIA TOYOTA OF ROCKLAND WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 150,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

I CONTACTED TOYOTA SANTA MONICA (THEY ARE THE CLOSEST LOCATION TO HOME AND MOST CONVENIENT FOR WORK) AND WAS TOLD THEY WOULD CALL ME TO LET ME KNOW IF THE PART WAS IN. TWO WEEKS PASSED AND I CALLED AGAIN. I WAS TOLD THEY HAD TO ORDER THE PART AND WOULD GET A CALL WHEN IT CAME IN. TWO MONTHS LATER, I CALL AGAIN AND WAS INFORMED THE PART WAS BACKORDERED 4-6 WEEKS AND WOULD ONCE AGAIN RECEIVE A CALL TO LET ME KNOW WHEN I CAN BRING MY VEHICLE IN. ADMITTEDLY, THE NOTICE WAS FORGOTTEN AS I WAITED. I FOUND THE RECALL NOTICE AND CONTACTED TOYOTA SANTA MONICA ON JUNE 29, 2017 IN HOPES OF BRINGING IN MY VEHICLE ON JULY 5TH. I WAS TOLD THEY HAD ONE PART IN STOCK, BUT IF I WANT TO BRING MY CAR IN AT THAT TIME THEY WOULD HAVE TO PLACE AN ORDER. BECAUSE OF MY WORK SCHEDULE THE 5TH WAS THE BEST TIME FOR ME. I WAS TOLD THAT THEY WILL THEN HAVE TO ORDER THE PART, BUT EVEN WITH THE HOLIDAY THEY SHOULD GET IT IN BY THE 5TH AND THEY WOULD CALL ME TO LET ME KNOW THE PART WAS IN FACT IN SO I COULD BRING IN MY VEHICLE. I CALLED AGAIN ON JULY 14TH AND SPOKE TO THE PARTS DEPARTMENT OF TOYOTA SANTA MONICA. NOT ONLY WAS MY NAME AND NUMBER NOT IN THE SYSTEM, THERE WAS NEVER ANY ORDERS PLACED UNDER MY NAME. I WAS THEN INFORMED THAT THEY HAD PLENTY OF PARTS IN STOCK. I WAS TRANSFERRED TO THE SERVICE CENTER TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT WHERE NO ONE ANSWERED. JULY 17TH, I GET A HOLD OF THE SERVICE CENTER FOR TOYOTA SANTA MONICA WHERE I WAS ONCE AGAIN INFORMED THEY HAVE PLENTY OF THOSE PARTS IN STOCK AND OVER A YEAR LATER I FINALLY HAVE AN APPOINTMENT. I HAD CALLED FOUR TIMES AND FOUR TIMES I WAS TOLD AN ORDER WAS PLACED. NOT ONLY DID I NEVER RECEIVE ANY RETURNED CALLS, BUT THE PART WAS NEVER ORDERED UNDER MY NAME.
ON MY THIRD CLOCK SWITCH IN MY STEERING COLUMN IT IS THE DEVICE THAT FEEDS POWER TO THE AIR BAG FOR THE DRIVER SIDE AIR BAG IT SEEM THAT IF THE CAR DETECTS A SHORT OR INTERRUPTION IN THE ELECTRICAL LINE IT WILL LIGHT UP THE DASH LIGHT . FOR ME THIS HAS HAPPEN 3 TIME I AM AT 95,000. MILEAGE. REPLACING THE CLOCK SPRING SWITCH FIXES IT BUT THE PART IS NETHER A SWITCH OR A SPRING GO FIGURE. HOPE THIS HELPS
ONE DAY I WAS RETURNING FROM WORK IT WAS AROUND 3:30PM WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN MY RADIO DISPLAY TURND BLACK ON ME, "IF ONLY JUST 5ECONDS" THEN IT CAME YU !BACK ON BUT NOW AT NIGHT WHENEVER I TURN MY LIGHTS MMM ON THE RADIO DESPLAY TURNS DARK ALMOST. THE SPIRAL CABLE WAS REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THERE WAS NO PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG RECALL. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 163,280.

ILOOKED AROUND, NO CARS WERE NEAR ME, I DIDN'T NOTICE A CHANGE IN THE CAR, I SLOWED DOWN WHEN I HAD A CHANCE GOT OUT TO LOOK AT THE CAR EVERYTHING LOOKED FINE UNTIL I NOTICED A BIG HOLE IN MY SUNROOF I DIDN'T SEE A ROCK OR ANYTHING MY HEART WAS RACING. I WAS CLOSE TO AN EXIT SO PULLED OFF WHEN I GOT THE CHANCE TO A GAS STATION I HAD SOME DUCT TAPE IN THE CAR SO I TAPED UP THE GLASS SO IT WOULDN'T FALL OUT ONTO THE HIGHWAY. I CALLED THE STATE POLICE TO REPORT THE INCIDENT THEY DIDN'T THINK IT WAS STRANGE AT ALL I THOUGHT SOMEONE MIGHT HAVE THROWN SOMETHING AT THE SUNROOF BECAUSE OTHERWISE WHY WOULD IT SHATTER. IT WAS VERY SCARY THANKFULLY MY CAR INSURANCE COVER THE COST OF REPLACING IT.

I AM UPSET THAT TOYOTA CORPORATION IS INSTRUCTING THEIR DEALERS TO NOT PROVIDE LOANERS OR FREE RENTALS TO USE DURING THE ACTUAL AIRBAG REPLACEMENT. THEY EXPECT YOU TO WAIT 4 OR MORE HOURS AT THE DEALERSHIP OR INCONVENIENCE AN ADDITIONAL PERSON TO DRIVE YOU TO AND FROM YOUR WORK OR HOME, ETC. COX TOYOTA IN BURLINGTON, NC ACTUALLY HAD THE NERVE TO SUGGEST I USE MY OWN MONEY TO RENT ONE OF THEIR CARS!.I REFUSE TO BE INCONVENIENCED DUE TO THEIR NEGLIGENCE. IT ISN'T LIKE THEY HAVE CARS SITTING AROUND.
CAR ACCELERATES BY ITSELF DRASTICALLY MAKING ME ALMOST HIT A TREE. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME I MAKE THIS COMPLAIN TO TOYOTA. MY TOYOTA COROLLA MATRIX 2006 HAS A ECM UNDER RECALL. WHEN I BOUGHT THIS CAR FROM PREVIOUS OWNER , I DID NOT KNOW THAT CAR WAS SERVICED UNDER RECALL AND ECM WAS REPLACED IN JANUARY OF 2011. IN OCTOBER OF 2013, CAR HAS 54K MILES AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT (P2716) IS ON. THE TRANSMISSION DIAGNOSTIC WAS DONE AND IT SHOWS THAT CAR HAS MALFUNCTIONING ECM. TRANSMISSION WAS REBUILT BUT NOT BY TOYOTA DEALER. TOYOTA DEALER TOLD ME THAT MY CAR HAS REPLACED ECM AND DOESN'T QUALIFY FOR ANY OTHER ECM REPLACEMENT. NOW THE CAR HAS 106K AND STILL THE SAME PROBLEM P2716 AND ECM IS MALFUNCTIONING. *JS

NHTSA RECALL NUMBER: 15V285 PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT JACK TAYLOR'S ALEXANDRIA TOYOTA, LOCATED ON 750 JEFFERSON DAVIS HWY, ALEXANDRIA, VA 22305, HAS FAILED TO REPLACE AND REMEDY THE FRONT PASSENGER AIR BAG INFLATORS FOR MY 2006 TOYOTA COROLLA AND MISLED ME REGARDING THE AVAILABILITY OF SAID PART ASSOCIATED WITH TOYOTA'S SAFETY RECALL. THE FIRST INITIAL APPOINTMENT MADE ON NOVEMBER 3, 2016 WAS SCHEDULED FOR NOVEMBER 11, 2016. AFTER WAITING SIX HOURS AT THE DEALERSHIP, I WAS INFORMED THAT THE DEALERSHIP DID NOT HAVE THE PARTS FOR MY VEHICLE. CONSEQUENTLY, I WAS ADVISED BY SERVICE CONSULTANT GERALD GERDES (HEREAFTER 'JERRY') THAT THE PART WOULD ARRIVE AT JACK TAYLOR'S IN ROUGHLY ESTIMATED FOUR TO SIX WEEKS. (SEE ATTACHMENT TITLED 'E-MAIL APPOINTMENT CONFIRMATION 1'). THEREAFTER, I CONTACTED JACK TAYLOR'S VIA PHONE ON DECEMBER 21, 2016 TO CHECK THE STATUS OF SAID PART'S ARRIVAL. AS SUCH, I WAS INFORMED THAT SAID PART HAD INDEED ARRIVED AT JACK TAYLOR'S WHEREBY THE TOYOTA REPRESENTATIVE ADVISED TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT, AND THUS I SCHEDULED MY SECOND APPOINTMENT ON DECEMBER 23, 2016 FOR 1:00 PM. (SEE ATTACHMENT TITLED 'E-MAIL APPOINTMENT CONFIRMATION 2'). NOTWITHSTANDING, JERRY CONTACTED ME VIA PHONE AND INFORMED ME ABOUT THREE AND A HALF HOURS LATER (APPROXIMATELY 4:43 PM) DURING THE DECEMBER 23RD APPOINTMENT THAT THE DEALERSHIP WAS UNABLE TO LOCATE THE PART. JERRY ALSO ADVISED ME THAT THEY WOULD ATTEMPT THEIR BEST EFFORTS TO LOCATE THE PART BUT THAT WAS TO NO AVAIL. THEREFORE, AFTER TWO MONTHS AND SPENDING ELEVEN HOURS UNDER THE IMPRESSION THAT THE FRONT PASSENGER AIR BAG INFLATORS WERE BEING REPLACED, MY VEHICLE IS STILL WITHOUT THE NECESSARY REPLACEMENT FOR THE RECALL. THIS IS ESPECIALLY CONCERNING BECAUSE I TRAVEL FROM WASHINGTON, D.C. TO NEW YORK CITY ON A FREQUENT BASIS. THERE MUST BE SOME ACCOUNTABILITY FOR LACK OF GOOD-FAITH AND DISHONESTY HERE.

IT HAS BEEN 17 MONTHS SINCE THE RECALL. I AM STILL WAITING FOR A REPLACEMENT. THIS IS NOT A TIMELY FASHION.
