the transmission seems to be slipping cs when taking off rpms goes up then vehicle takes off cs when going uphill around 40 vehicle struggles and does not shifts down..need replace transmission...
The contact owns a 2007 Toyota Sequoia. The contact stated while at a stop light and attempting to accelerate, the vehicle hesitated with the traction control warning light illuminated. The contact stated that after several seconds, the vehicle accelerated normally. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and the dealer stated that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted but provided no assistance. The approximate failure mileage was 187,000.

THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE FOR SEQUOIAS AND TUNDRAS, HOWEVER NOT YET COVERED FOR THE 2007 MODEL YEAR! DEALER PART COSTS $1,700. UNLESS TOYOTA RECIEVES ENOUGH CASE PROBLEMS FOR 2007 YEAR, THEY WILL NOT EXTEND WARRANTY FOR PARTS, WHICH THEY HAVE DONE FOR ALL OTHER AFFECTED YEARS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA SEQUOIA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN DRIVING OVER A BUMP, THE VEHICLE WOULD MAKE AN UNUSUAL CLUNKING NOISE FROM FRONT DRIVERS SIDE, NEAR THE FUEL LINE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL REPAIR FACILITY WHERE THE MECHANIC ADVISED THAT THE U JOINTS WERE DEFECTIVE. THERE WERE NO RECALLS FOR THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 15,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE IS APPROXIMATELY 85,000.
