2004 TOYOTA SIENNA LIMITED AWD WITH DUNLAP RUN FLAT TIRES. VEHICLE IS 18 MONTHS OLD WITH 16,000 MILES. THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO HAVE HARD RIDE WITH INCREASE ROAD NOISE. TAKEN TO LOCAL TIRE CENTER, 2 TIRES TREAD WORN OFF, THE OTHER 2 SIGNIFICANTLY WORN. ADVISED THAT THE TIRES WERE DANGEROUS TO CONT TO DRIVE ON. COST TO REPLACE TIRES APPROX $1300. NO SPARE TIRE IS PROVIDED, SINCE THE RUN FLATS ARE STANDARD EQUIPMENT. MUST THEN BUY THE SAME TIRE WITH THE SAME PROBLEMS. CONTACTED TOYOTA, THEY ARE UNWILLING TO ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY, DUNLAP WAS WILLING TO PRORATE THE TIRES, BUT STILL OFFERS NO WARRANTY ON NEW TIRES. REVIEW OF THE INTERNET SHOWS THIS IS A COMMON COMPLAINT. I THINK THE RUN FLAT TIRES ARE A GOOD IDEA, BUT I DOUBT THEY WERE ACTUALLY TESTED TO BE SURE THAT THEY ARE SAFE AND EFFECTIVE. *NM

I WAS DRIVING INTO A PARKING SPACE AT APPROX 10 MPH WHEN THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED WHILE I WAS PARKING IT. THANK GOD A TREE WAS IN FRONT OF THE SPACE OR I WOULD HAVE HIT A PERSON OR VEHICLE. IT HAPPENED ON 9/27/2005 AND I WAS TOLD I MUST HAVE HIT THE GAS. SINCE MY HUSBAND WORKS FOR A TOYOTA DEALERSHIP I LET IT GO. 2004 TOYOTA SIENNA XLE LTD AWD PURCHASED NEW WITH BRIDGESTONE B380 RFT 225/60R17 TIRES. TIRES WEAR OUT PREMATURELY. ESTIMATED MILEAGE BASED ON TREAD WEAR IS 30K MILES. WE HAD A FLAT TIRE AT 22,000 MILES. TO HAVE EVEN TREADS ON ALL TIRES THE DEALER RECOMMENDED TO REPLACE ALL 4 TIRES AT A COST OF $250/TIRE. THIS MEANS IS I HAVE TO SPEND $1000/YEAR JUST TO REPLACE TIRES!!!*JB
PROBLEM IS WITH RUN FLAT TIRES ON NEW 2004 TOYOTA SIENNA MINI-VANS. OURS IS THE XLE LTD. AWD. TIRES WERE SUBSTANTIALLY WORN DOWN AT ONLY 15,000 MILES. TIRES ARE DUNLOP RUN FLAT P225/60R1798T M + S. NEW CAR DEALER REFUSED TO ADDRESS THE PROBLEM. TIRES ARE VERY EXPENSIVE AND HARD TO FIND. I SEE THERE ARE MANY COMPLAINTS ON THE INTERNET RE THESE TIRES ON THE NEW TOYOTA SIENNA. *JB

LEFT AND RIGHT SIDE DOORS FAILS TO OPEN. THIS PROBLEM HAS RECURRED FOUR TIMES AFTER BEING FIXED AT THE TOYOTA DEALERSHIP FOUR TIMES. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE SINCE THERE IS NO REAR PASSENGER EGRESS WHEN THESE DOORS ARE INOPERATIVE! *TR
DT: THE VEHICLE HAS RUN FLAT TIRES. THERE IS A LIGHT ON THE DASH BOARD THAT INFORMS THE CONSUMER WHEN THE TIRE PRESSURE IS LOW. THIS PARTICULAR DID NOT LIGHT UP AND ONE OF THE TIRES BLEW OUT ON THE INSIDE OF THE TIRE. THE VEHICLE IS NOT EQUIPPED WITH A SPARE. THE TIRE ITSELF IS NOT EASY TO REPLACE BECAUSE NOBODY CARRIES THESE TIRES. THE DEALER HAS THE VEHICLE EVEN THOUGH THESE TIRES CANNOT BE FILLED ONCE THEY ARE IN FLAT MODE. THIS OCCURRED ON SEPTEMBER 4, 2005. *AK *MR
A DEFECT EXISTS WITH THE 2004 TOYOTA SIENNA MINI VAN, AUTOMATIC POWER SIDE DOOR. THIS POWER SIDE DOOR HAS STOPPED FUNCTIONING. THIS FAILURE OCCURRED SUDDENLY, WITHOUT WARNING. THE POWER SIDE DOOR BECAME JAMMED, THROUGH NO FAULT OF ME OR MY FAMILY, AND IS NO LONGER OPERABLE. IT WAS NECESSARY FOR ME TO DRIVE TO THE TOYOTA DEALERSHIP WITH THE POWER SIDE DOOR IN A PARTIALLY OPENED POSITION. THERE IS NOT A MANUAL OVERRIDE FOR THE AUTOMATIC POWER DOOR. I WAS INSTRUCTED BY THE DEALER REPAIR TECHNICIAN TO NOT USE THE POWER SIDE DOOR. I FEEL THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY CONCERN. IN THE EVENT THAT IT BECOMES NECESSARY TO USE THE DOOR IN AN EMERGENCY SITUATION, MY FAMILY MAY BECOME TRAPPED. I WAS OFFERED BY THE DEALER TO PAY HALF OF THE APPROXIMATELY $1600.00 REPAIR COST. I FEEL THAT THE POWER SIDE DOOR SHOULD NOT HAVE FAILED IN SUCH A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME IN WHICH I HAVE OWNED THE VEHICLE AND THAT THE REPAIR AND/OR REPLACEMENT SHOULD BE AT THE EXPENSE OF TOYOTA. *NM
RUN FLAT TIRES ARE UNSAFE AND TREAD WEAR LIFE IS EXTREMELY SHORT. 2004 TOYOTA SIENNA XLE AWD LIMITED HAS OE DUNLOP SP SPORT 4000T DSST 'RUN FLAT' TIRES. CAR HAS 19,000 MILES AND ALL 4 TIRES ARE COMPLETELY BALD. CAR HAS BEEN MAINTAINED BY THE DEALER PER MANUFACTURERS INSTRUCTIONS. 'RUN-FLAT' CARS DO NOT HAVE SPARE TIRES, JACKS OR TIRE WELL FOR STORAGE, SO THERE IS NO WAY TO SWITCH TO REGULAR TIRES WITHOUT LOSING THE REAR CARGO SPACE. I CANNOT AFFORD TO LOSE THIS SPACE AS THIS IS WHY I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE. NEW RUN FLAT TIRES WILL COST ME WELL OVER $1100 PER YEAR AT THIS TREAD WEAR RATE. THE COMBINATION OF THESE TIRES WITH THIS MINIVAN SEEMS TO BE A SERIOUS PROBLEM. IT POSES A HUGE EXPENSE TO REPLACE THESE TIRES REGULAR AND IS A SERIOUS SAFETY HAZARD TO A CLASS OF OWNERS WHO GENERALLY HAVE INFANTS OR YOUNG CHILDREN. NHTSA SHOULD ACT TO REQUIRE TOYOTA AND DUNLOP TO RESOLVE THIS ISSUE SATISFACTORILY. *JB
2004 TOYOTA SIENNA DEVELOPED PROBLEMS WITH THE TIRES. ***NO ANSWER REQUIRED***. *MR AT 12,000 MILES, THE TIRES STARTED TO MAKE A RUMBLING NOISE IN THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE. UPON INSPECTION OF THE VEHICLE, IT WAS DETERMINED THE TIRES WERE SHOWING SIGNS OF WEAR ON THE OUTSIDE AND THE INSIDE, 1/3 OF THE REAR TIRES WERE CUPPING SO BAD THAT THE TREAD WAS WORN OFF IN SEGMENTS ALL AROUND THE INSIDE EDGE, OVERALL THE TIRES WERE DOWN CLOSE TO THE TREAD MARKERS. THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE WAS SLIGHTLY OUT OF ALIGNMENT AND WAS THE CAUSE OF ALL THE PROBLEMS. THE CONSUMER ALSO STATED THAT THE RUNFLAT TIRE HAD LOW AIR PRESSURE DUE TO THE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATING. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, HE WAS TOLD THERE WAS A NAIL IN THE TIRE AND THE RUNFLAT TIRE WAS UN-REPAIRABLE, HOWEVER THE OWNERS MANUAL STATED THE TIRE WAS REPAIRABLE. THE VEHICLE DID NOT COME EQUIPPED WITH A SPARE TIRE. *JB
COMPLAINT REGARDING FACTORY INSTALLED BRIDGESTONE TIRES ON THE 2004 SIENNA MINIVAN.*MR THE CONSUMER NOTICED THE TIRES WERE STARTING TO SHOW WEAR AFTER 7,000 MILES. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN IN FOR AN OIL CHANGE, THE TIRES WERE ROTATED WHICH WAS SUPPOSE TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM, HOWEVER THE TIRES CONTINUED TO SHOW MORE WEAR. THE CONSUMER TOOK THE VEHICLE IN FOR A SECOND TIME FOR AN ALIGNMENT AND IT STILL DIDN'T RESOLVE THE PREMATURE TIRE WEAR. THE CONSUMERS WIFE COULD BARELY KEEP THE VEHICLE ON THE ROAD, AS IT WAS HYDROPLANING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND THE CONSUMER WAS TOLD THE FRONT TIRES WERE NO GOOD AND THEY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE REAR TIRES HAD EXCESSIVE WEAR AS WELL. THE CONSUMER WAS TOLD THE TIRES DID NOT HAVE A WARRANTY SINCE THE TIRES WERE MADE TO THE MANUFACTURERS SPECIFICATIONS AND THEY WERE NOT THE NORMAL TIRES THAT BRIDGESTONE SOLD FROM ITS DEALERS.*JB
2004 TOYOTA SIENNA DEVELOPED PROBLEMS WITH THE BRAKE EQUIPMENT.***NO ANSWER REQUIRED*** *MR ON FOUR OCCASIONS, THE BRAKES HAD BEEN INSPECTED BY MECHANICS AND IN SOME CASES REINSTALLED. THE CONSUMER ALSO EXPERIENCED A GRINDING NOISE ON TWO DIFFERENT TRIPS. THE CONSUMER WAS INFORMED THAT THE GRINDING NOISE WAS COMING FROM THE REAR BRAKES AND DID NOT CONSTITUTE SERIOUS BRAKE PROBLEMS. THE CONSUMER TRIED TO USE THE HITCH MOUNT/BIKE RACK ONLY TO FIND THAT THE HITCH WOULD BOTTOM OUT WHILE ENTERING GAS STATIONS OR EXITING DRIVEWAYS. ALSO, AS AN ALTERNATIVE TO THE HITCH NOT OPERATING PROPERLY, THE CONSUMER ADDED REAR AIR BAGS ON THE SUSPENSION SYSTEM IN ORDER TO GIVE THE VEHICLE ADDITIONAL CLEARANCE AND THEY HAVE FAILED AND OR BLEW OUT ABOUT THREE TIMES. OTHER PROBLEMS: BATTERY FAILURE, REAR BUMPER CLIP NOT HOLDING THE BUMPER IN PLACE, INTERIOR TRIM PIECE ON SEAT DETACHING, GRAB HANDLE TRIM PIECE BREAKING, AND THE CONSUMER'S DAUGHTER'S HAND HAD GOTTEN STUCK IN THE AUTOMATIC DOOR THAT WAS NOT SUPPOSED TO CLOSE DUE TO RESISTANCE IN THE PATH. *SC
WE PURCHASED A TOYOTA SIENNA MAY 2003(2004 MODEL), IT HAS 20,696 MILES AND THE FRONT TWO TIRES ARE COMPLETELY WORN ON THE OUTSIDE EDGE OF THE TIRE, THE STEEL IS EVEN SHOWING ON ONE OF THEM. THE TIRES ON THE SIENNA ARE THE BRIDGESTONE B380 P225/60 R17 98T THESE ARE RUN FLAT TIRES,WAS NOT AWARE OF UNTIL TODAY. I HAVE DONE ALL ROUTINE MAINTENANCE ON THE CAR. I HAVE SPOKEN TO THE DEALER, TOYOTA, AND BRIDGESTONE NO ONE SEEMS TO BE HELPING AND EXCEPTING RESPONSIBILITY. IT IS NOT RIGHT THAT I AM ONLY GETTING THAT LOW MILEAGE ON THESES TIRES AND THE FACT THAT IT COST SO MUCH TO REPLACE THEM. IF I WAS AWARE OF THIS AT THE TIME OF PURCHASE WOULD NOT HAVE BOUGHT IT, ONE REASON FOR BUYING IT WAS THE LONGEVITY AND LOW MAINTENANCE OF TOYOTAS. EVEN IF I DO NOT REPLACE THE TIRES WITH RUN FLAT TIRES THE CAR DOES NOT COME EQUIPPED WITH A SPARE, WHICH WOULD BE AN ADDITIONAL EXPENSE AND THEN THE SPARE WOULD SIT IN THE CARGO SPACE WHERE I WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO FOLD THE THIRD ROW SEAT. *NM
I PURCHASED A 2004 TOYOTA SIENNA AWD XLE IN APRIL OF 2004 EQUIPPED WITH DUNLOP SP SPORT 4000 DSST RUN-FLAT TIRES. AFTER ONLY 8900 MILES ON THE VEHICLE I DISCOVERED I HAD A FLAT TIRE. I WAS TOLD BY TWO TIRE DEALERS THAT ALL FOUR TIRES NEED TO BE REPLACED DUE TO TREAD WEAR. AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH, I DISCOVERED THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS TIRE MODEL ON THE 2004 TOYOTA SIENNA AWD XLE. TOYOTA'S RESPONSE HAS BEEN THAT THE TIRES ARE WARRANTED THROUGH THE MANUFACTURER AND THAT I NEED TO CONTACT THE MANUFACTURER. THE LOCAL AUTHORIZED DUNLOP DEALER HAS OFFERED TO REPLACE THE TIRES AT $60/EA PLUS $15 INSTALLATION/EA. HOWEVER, I DON'T FEEL SAFE DRIVING ON THESE TIRES AFTER READING ALL THE INCIDENCES OF TIRE FAILURE. TOYOTA IS SUGGESTING AS AN OPTION THAT I CONVERT TO REGULAR/CONVENTIONAL TIRES, WHICH WOULD ALSO MEAN CONVERTING THE VEHICLE TO CARRY A SPARE AND LOSE THE SPACE FOR THE SEVENTH PASSENGER (THE VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY NOT SET UP TO CARRY A SPARE). I DON'T KNOW YET HOW MUCH THIS IS GOING TO COST ME OR IF TOYOTA WILL COVER ALL OR SOME OF THE COST. THE NATIONAL HIGHWAY TRAFFIC SAFETY ADMINISTRATION SHOULD INVESTIGATE AND DETERMINE WHETHER THE DUNLOP SP SPORT 4000 DSST TIRES ARE SAFE OR WHETHER THEY SHOULD BE RECALLED. *JB
RUN FLAT TIRES ON A 2004 TOYOTA SIENNA XLE LIMITED AWD FAIL/WEAR PREMATURELY. NEED TO BE REPLACED AT 12,000 MILES. DEALER WILL NOT COMPENSATE FOR EXPENSE. ALSO, THE VEHICLE DOES NOT COME WITH A SPARE TIRE AND THIS FACT WAS NOT DISCLOSED AND IN FACT THE VEHICLE DE-CALING WAS MISLEADING. A DECAL ON THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR PILLAR INDICTES WHERE THE SPARE IS LOACTED, BUT THERE IS NO SPARE ON THIS VEHICLE. *JB
UNEVEN AND PREMATURE WEAR ON ALL 4 TIRES WITH PROGRESSIVELY HARSH AND NOISY RIDE ON 2004 TOYOTA XLE LIMITED AWD MINIVAN DESPITE PROPER TIRE PRESSURE AND TIRE ROTATION. CURRENT MILEAGE ~8,900 MILES. *NM
VOIDS AND PEELING OF TREAD ON ALL FOUR TIRES. IT APPEARED AS IF THERE WERE LARGE AIR BUBBLES TRAPPED IN THE TREAD AT MANUFACTURING. THIS WAS NOTICED AFTER HAVING ONLY 30,000 MILES ON TIRES. HAD TO REPLACE WITH ALL NEW TIRES DUE TO MFG. DEFECT. MICHELIN ONLY ALLOWED 50% TOWARD NEW TIRES. I WAS FORTUNATE NOT TO HAVE BEEN KILLED WHILE DRIVING WITH THESE TIRES. THIS HAS REALLY EMOTIONALLY UPSET ME CONSIDERING I HAD JUST DRIVEN FROM FL TO NH WITH THEM. *NM
UPON HAVING THE 15,000 MILE MAINTENANCE DONE I WAS INFORMED THAT MY BRAKE DISC PADS NEEDED TO REPLACED AS THEY WERE DOWN TO 20%. *JB
VEHICLE HESITATES AND LURCHES FORWARD ON ACCELERATION. DRIVER GETS JERKED FORWARD AT AN ABNORMAL RATE. AFTER ACCELERATION UPON LEAVING A STOPED STATE VEHICLE DOES NOT RESPOND AND/OR HESITATES FOR A SECOND THEN LURCHES FORWARD. DEALER HAS BEEN NOTIFIED MANY TIMES AND THEY TELL ME THIS IS A CHARACTERISTIC WITH THE NEW FLY WHEEL DESIGN IN THE TOYOTAS. THEY AGREE IT IS NOT RIGHT BUT TELL ME THERE IS NOTHING I CAN DO ABOUT IT?? AS A CONSUMER THIS IN UNACCEPTABLE. AM STARTING TO HAVE NECK PROBLEMS AS A RESULT OF DOING A LOT OF LOCAL IN TOWN DRIVING AND CONSTANTLY STOPPING AND STARTING WITH BEING JERKED AROUND IN MY VAN. EVEN THE PASSENGERS FEEL IT. I THINK THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUES SINCE IT CAN CREATE PHYSICAL DAMAGE TO THE DRIVER AND CAUSE AN ACCIDENT IF VAN DOES NOT RESPOND TO ACCELERATOR WHEN EXPECTED TOO. TIRES MAY SPIN OUT TOO WHEN THE JERKY ACCELERATION OCCURS.
RUN FLAT TIRES ARE UNSAFE. 2004 TOYOTA SIENNA XLE AWD HAS OE DUNLOP SP SPORT 4000T DSST 'RUN FLAT' TIRES. CAR HAS 19,500 MILES OF MODERATE DRIVING. DEALER REFUSED TO ROTATE AND PERFORM ALIGNMENT AT 19,000 MILES BECAUSE TIRES WERE TOO WORN. REFERRED TO DUNLOP WHO ELECTED TO DO NOTHING. NOW, AT 21,500 CORDS ARE VISIBLE ON INSIDE EDGES OF FRONT TIRES. A. THE ONLY AVAILABLE REPLACEMENTS (FROM TIRERACK.COM) ARE $845 PLUS MOUNTING AND BALANCING ($142). B. 'RUN-FLAT' CARS DO NOT HAVE SPARE TIRES, JACKS OR TIRE WELL FOR STORAGE, SO THERE IS NO PRACTICAL WAY TO SWITCH TO REGULAR TIRES. C. DEALER SAYS THAT TOYOTA WILL SELL A KIT THAT INCLUDES A MINI-SPARE. REQUIRES RECONFIGURING REAR OF VAN. RESULT MEANS THAT THERE IS NO MORE STORAGE WELL UNDER REAR SEATS. TOYOTA WILL NOT GIVE THE KIT TO AFFECTED OWNERS. THEY SELL IT FOR $1,300. D. A DECISION TO STAY WITH (AND REPLACE) THE 'RUN FLATS' MEANS AN OUT-OF-POCKET EXPENSE OF ~$1,000 EVERY YEAR. E. IF TOYOTA ABANDONS THE 'RUN FLAT' CONSUMER IS ABSOLUTELY VICTIMIZED. F. IF THE SUSPENSION IS A CULPRIT, IT IS A SERIOUS SAFETY HAZARD TO A CLASS OF OWNERS WHO GENERALLY HAVE INFANTS OR YOUNG CHILDREN. NHTSA SHOULD ACT TO REQUIRE TOYOTA TO ISSUE RECALL AND RETROFIT ALL AFFECTED SIENNAS WITH STANDARD TIRES AND THE COMPONENTS TO FIX FLATS!. *JB
TRANSMISSION HESITATION AND LURCH FORWARD. DEALER SAYS THIS IS CHARACTERISTIC OF TRANSMISSION. ALSO, REAR AC NOT COLD - DEALER SAYS THIS IS NORMAL PERFORMANCE. *JB
DT: THE CONTACT OWNED A 2004 TOYOTA SIENNA ALL WHEEL DRIVE. ALL THE TIRES HAD TO BE REPLACED AT 14842 MILES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER BECAUSE ONE TIRE WAS DAMAGED, AND THEY SAID ALL THE TIRES WORN OUT AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE TIRE THAT WAS DAMAGED HAD A HOLE IN IT, AND IT WAS A FLAT TIRE. THE TIRES WERE REGULARLY SERVICED. THE TIRE MANUFACTURER WAS DUNLOP , LINE IS 225/60R17, ODI # 3DT00004279-DU. SEARCHED ON THE INTERNET AND SAW MANY SIMILAR COMPLAINTS. *AK *JB

TOYOTA SIENNA (2004+) AWD MODELS USE RUN-FLAT TIRES SINCE NO SPARE TIRE IS PROVIDED BY TOYOTA. THESE RUN-FLAT TIRES ARE DEFECTIVE IN THAT THEY WEAR OUT EXCEEDINGLY FAST. YOU'LL SEE MANY OWNERS HAVE RESORTED TO BUYING REGULAR TIRES FOR THEIR SIENNAS, THEN PURCHASING A SPARE TIRE AND THROWING IT INTO THE BACK OF THEIR VAN. THIS TAKES AWAY FROM THE UTILITY OF THE VAN A GREAT DEAL, SINCE STORAGE IS A PRIMARY SELLING POINT OF MINIVANS. PLEASE INVESTIGATE THIS ISSUE. ON 06/09/2005, WE NOTICED THAT OUR 2004 TOYOTA SIENNA AWD-XLE HAD A FLAT TIRE ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE REAR. THE TIRE WAS NOTICEABLY FLAT AND WE LIMPED TO A SERVICE STATION TO INFLATE THE TIRE. THE TIRE HAD ZERO TIRE PRESSURE AND A MASSIVE HOLE BETWEEN THE TREADS WHERE YOU COULD FEEL/HEAR THE AIR ESCAPING AS IT WAS BEING FILLED. THE TIRE HAD 0 PSI/TIRE PRESSURE. THE DUNLOP SP SPORT 4000 RUN-FLAT TIRES CAME STANDARD ON OUR 2004 SIENNA. WE WENT TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE WE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE, HAVE HAD SERVICE COMPLETED AND TIRES ROTATED AS REQUIRED. OUR VAN IS 10 MONTHS OLD AND HAS 13,800 HIGHWAY MILES. THE DEALERSHIP SAID THEY DID NOT HAVE THE MATCHING TIRE IN STOCK AND WOULD WORK TO FIND ONE. THE ASSISTANT STORE MANAGER SAID THEY HAD NOT SEEN ANY RUN-FLATS WITH FLATS. LATER THAT DAY, THE DEALERSHIP CALLED AND SAID THEY HAD A DEAL FOR ME. THEY WERE ABLE TO GET THE TOYOTA REP TO GIVE US 4 BRAND NEW TIRES FOR FREE, EXCEPT THEY NEEDED TO KEEP THE VEHICLE THE WEEKEND UNTIL THE TIRES ARRIVED. WHEN ASKED WHY? AND IF THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE OTHER TIRES, I WAS TOLD THAT THEY HAD WORN DOWN TO A LEVEL THAT WOULD BARELY PASS A NEW YORK STATE INSPECTION. HE WAS TOLD HE HAD A DOUGHNUT FOR USE IN CASE OF A FLAT, BUT ONE WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO ANSWER QUESTIONS ABOUT THE TIRES. THE MANUFACTURER OF THE TIRES TOLD HIM THEY HAVE WRITTEN LETTERS TO CAR MANUFACTURERS TO TELL CONSUMERS THERE WAS NO SPARE TIRE. HE WANTED TO REPLACE THE DAMAGED TIRE ONLY, BUT THE VEHICLE MANUFACTURER TOLD HIM ALL THE TIRES HAVE TO TURN AT THE SAME RATE , AND THAT WAS WHY HE COULD NOT REPLACE ONLY ONE TIRE. *AK
