MY VAN CUT ON FIRE LAST SATURDAR, SEPTEMBER 1ST 2019. FOR NO APPARENTLY REASON. I DROVE ABOUT 5 MILES FROM MY HOUSE TO THE GROCERY STORE, WHEN I NOTICE THE SMOKE, I FIRST THOUGH WAS THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME. BUT WAS SMOKE COMING FROM MY HOOD. I WAS JUST ABOUT TO STOP AT A STOP SIGH AND I LOOK THE TEMPERATURE GATE AND IT WAS FINE, TURN OF THE CAR AND PEOPLE FROM THE PARKING LOT WAS ALREADY YELLING FOR ME TO GET OUT OF THE CAR. MORE THAN 2/3 OF THE VAN WAS TOTALLY DESTROYED IN THE FIRE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 TOYOTA SIENNA. WHEN THE CONTACT ENTERED THE VEHICLE WHILE HOLDING ONTO THE PASSENGER SIDE ROOF HANDLE, THE HANDLE FRACTURED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER OR INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING OR REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT NOTHING COULD BE DONE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 86,000.
ELECTROMAGNETIC COUPLER ON AWD SIENNA, IT SEEMS LIKE A SUPER COMMON PROBLEM THAT COSTS ~$2,500 US TO FIX AND STARTS AROUND THE 100,000 MILE ODOMETER READING.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 TOYOTA SIENNA. WHILE DRIVING, THE ENGINE OIL COOLER PIPE BURST AND SPEWED OIL ALL OVER THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE'S REAR WINDOW WAS COMPLETELY COVERED WITH OIL. THE MANUFACTURER EXTENDED THE WARRANTY; HOWEVER, THE CONTACT WAS NOT COVERED SINCE THE VEHICLE EXCEEDED THE WARRANTY. BUCKEYE TOYOTA (1903 RIVERWAY DR, LANCASTER, OH 43130, (740) 654-3943) STATED THAT THEY COULD NOT AUTHORIZE A REPAIR OUT OF WARRANTY UNLESS APPROVED BY THE MANUFACTURER. THE MANUFACTURER PROVIDED A CASE NUMBER AND STATED THAT THEY WOULD NOT COVER THE COST OF THE REPAIRS. THE CONTACT CALLED THE STATE ATTORNEY GENERAL'S OFFICE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 156,000.
OIL COOLER HOSE: FROM MY EXPERIENCE, AND FROM WHAT I'VE READ FROM OTHERS, THIS IS A CONSIDERABLE SAFETY ISSUE. A RECALL WOULD BE VERY APPROPRIATE FOR BOTH ROAD SAFETY AND FOR CONSUMER PROTECTION. A SUSPECTED BLOWN COOLER LINE JUST HAPPENED TO ME LAST NIGHT, AND I WAS VERY DISTRACTED WHEN I REALIZED MY 2011 TOYOTA SIENNA (ABOUT 125K MILES) WENT FROM PROVIDING NORMAL RESPONSIVENESS TO GIVING INCOMPREHENSIBLE FEEDBACK WITHIN SECONDS. A "LOW OIL" MESSAGE FLASHED ONCE ON THE CENTER CONSOLE AS I WAS PULLING OUT OF A GAS STATION INTO TRAFFIC. THIS LIGHT DID NOT RETURN. NO OTHER LIGHTS LIT UP AT ANY TIME. IMMEDIATELY, HOWEVER, I NOTICED HESITATION WHEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE. I THOUGHT THAT IT WAS AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM AT THAT POINT, PERHAPS IT WAS AFFECTING THE FUEL INJECTORS. THEN I NOTICED A CLICKING NOISE COMING FROM THE ENGINE. AT THAT POINT, I PULLED OVER AT THE NEXT SAFEST OPPORTUNITY AND TURNED OFF THE VEHICLE. I POPPED THE HOOD AND NOTICED OIL EVERYWHERE TOWARD THE BOTTOM OF THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT/UNDERSIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE DIP STICK WAS DRY. THIS ALL HAPPENED WITHIN 0.75 MILES ON A TWO LANE STATE HIGHWAY (ONE LANE IN EACH DIRECTION) WITH A 55 MPH SPEED LIMIT. I CERTAINLY WASN'T DRIVING DEFENSIVELY DURING THIS TIME, AND I HAD VERY MINIMAL AWARENESS OF ANY VEHICLES AROUND ME. THE ACCELERATION ISSUE COULD HAVE BEEN CATASTROPHIC IF I HAD TRIED TO BEAT TRAFFIC THAT WAS FAR ENOUGH AWAY TO PROCEED, YET CLOSE ENOUGH TO THINK TWICE. FORTUNATELY, I'M NOT AN AGGRESSIVE DRIVER, AND I WAITED. THE WHOLE EXPERIENCE HAS BAFFLED ME AS I'VE NEVER EXPERIENCED SUCH A COMPLETE AND SUDDEN FAILURE WHILE DRIVING A VEHICLE. PLEASE CONSIDER THIS REPORT AND REVIEW THE NUMEROUS ONLINE REPORTS FROM DRIVERS WHO ALSO EXPERIENCED A SUDDEN, MASSIVE OIL LEAK WHILE DRIVING THEIR 2007-2011 TOYOTA SIENNAS. TOYOTA IS WELL AWARE OF THIS RECURRING ISSUE. A SAFETY RECALL WOULD SEEM APPROPRIATE.
RECENTLY STARTED HAVING THIS ISSUE WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY. WHEN CHANGING LANES MY DOOR OPEN INDICATOR LIGHT AS WELL AS THE EXCLAMATION INSIDE THE TRIANGLE WILL ILLUMINATE ON MY DASH, A BEEPING SOUND STARTS CHIMING AND ALL THE INTERIOR LIGHTS COME ON. THIS HAPPENS ABOUT 15 TIMES IN A 20 MINUTE PERIOD. ITS VERY AGGRAVATING AND DISTRACTING. IT HAS GOTTEN WORSE AND DOES IT ON SIDE STREETS AND LOWER SPEEDS AS WELL NOW. I HAVE DONE SOME TROUBLE SHOOTING OF MY OWN AND REALIZE THAT IT ONLY HAPPENS WHEN I HAVE A WINDOW CRACKED OR DOWN. IF THE WINDOWS ARE UP IT WILL ALSO HAPPEN WITH SHARP TURNS ENDING WITH ABRUPT BRAKING. I HAVE BEEN PULLED OVER 3 TIMES IN A 4 MONTH PERIOD BECAUSE OF THE LIGHTS GOING ON AND OFF. POLICE SEEM TO THINK I'M SENDING SOME TYPE OF CODE FOR THEM TO HELP ME! IT IS RIDICULOUS. ASIDE FROM THIS LIGHTING/ DOOR ISSUE I AM ALSO HAVING TROUBLE WITH THE SLIDING DOORS CLOSING ON ME WHILE TRYING TO REMOVE MY 10 MONTH OLD SON FROM HIS CARSEAT. I BOUGHT THIS VAN USED AT 99,000 MILES. I NOW HAVE AROUND 120,000. I BELIEVE THIS SHOULD BE AN ISSUE REPAIRED BY A TOYOTA RECALL. I HAVE GOOGLED AND FOUND MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS EXACT SAME ISSUE FROM PEOPLE THAT HAVE THE SAME YEAR/MAKE/ MODEL AS MYSELF. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 TOYOTA SIENNA. -PASSENGER SIDE DOOR DID NOT CLOSE. -THE BATTERY WAS DRAINED. -LATCH FAILURE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER DRIVING ACROSS COUNTRY, THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR DID NOT CLOSE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER OR AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR A DIAGNOSTIC. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 79,000.
MY DRIVER SIDE SLIDING DOOR WILL NOT OPEN BY EITHER PRESSING THE BUTTONS OR TRYING TO MANUALLY OPEN IT.
WE WERE VISITING NIAGARA FALLS THIS WEEK AND WHEN WE GOT OFF THE EXIT MY WIFE HAD NO BRAKES. SO WE HAD IT TOWED TO A TRIPLE A REPAIR SHOP AND WAS TOLD OUR BRAKE LINE FAILED BECAUSE IT WAS CORRODED AND WAS A CHEAP NON OEM BRAKE LINE. WE HAD TO STAY AN EXTRA NIGHT AT OUR HOTEL. WE BOUGHT IT ALMOST A YEAR AGO WITH 36000 MILES AND NOW HAS 43000 ON IT, I FEEL THAT BRAUNABILITY WHICH DID THE HANDICAP CONVERSION SHOULD HAVE USED A OEM BRAKE LINE WHEN THE REPLACED IT. I HAVE ALS BUT MY WIFE'S NUMBER IS (XXXXX) OR EMAIL ME BACK. CABLE ON THE PASSENGER SIDE SLIDING DOOR BROKE. DOOR CANNOT BE USED AUTOMATICALLY. HAD DEALER DISCONNECT THE CABLE FOR $50 INSTEAD OF PAYING APPROXIMATELY $400 FOR NEW CABLE.
The VSC and tract light stay on all the time. The Ford dealer I purchased the Van from said they had it fixed. I took it back and i was told to buy a new gas cap which I did from a Toyota dealer in my area. The light came on again. I took it back and was told it had an exhaust leak and it won't hurt the van. But I could bring it back for starting at $ 200.00 and have a leak test done on the Van, but it would take hours. Since then I've had cleaner run thru the system but the lights stay on all the time. Is this a safety hazard because its an exhaust leak? Can you please assist in the repair information before I spend hundreds of dollars chasing the problem. Thank You so much..... WHIRRING NOISE FROM THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION. THE PITCH OF THE WHIR GETS HIGHER AS THE VEHICLE ACCELERATES. CAUSE IS A FAULTY BEARING IN THE ELECTROMAGNETIC COUPLER ASSEMBLY.
THIS VEHICLE HAS ALL WHEEL DRIVE AND USES AN ELECTROMECHANICAL COUPLER ON THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL. IT IS VERY SIMILAR CONFIGURATION TO THE TOYOTA RAV4 THAT USES A VISCOUS COUPLER IN THE SAME LOCATION. MY COUPLER HAS FAILED DUE TO THE FRONT BEARING FAILING. THE VEHICLE IS 8 YEARS OLD AND HAS ABOUT 95000 MILES ON IT. TOYOTA HAS ISSUED A TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN AND PROVIDED EXTENDED WARRANTY COVERAGE FOR THE BEARING FAILURE PROBLEM ON THE RAV4. SO FAR, THEY HAVE REFUSED TO PROVIDE SIMILAR COVERAGE FOR REPAIRS ON THE AWD SIENNA, EVEN THOUGH THE FAILURE MODE IS IDENTICAL. WE FIRST NOTICED THE PROBLEM WHEN THE VEHICLE STARTED MAKING LOUD GRINDING NOISE FROM THE REAR AXLE WHILE DRIVING. IT WASN'T CLEAR WHAT THE SOURCE OF NOISE WAS, BUT AFTER FINDING THE SERVICE BULLETIN FOR THE PROBLEM ON THE RAV4, IT BECAME CLEAR THIS SAME BEARING FAILURE WAS HAPPENING ON THE AWD SIENNA'S, SO IT WAS REPAIRED. IT WAS REPAIRED BEFORE IT FAILED CATASTROPHICALLY. IT IS HARD TO KNOW WHAT WOULD HAVE HAPPENED IF THE SOUND WAS IGNORED. WOULD THE DRIVE SHAFT SIEZE UP? ENGINE STALL? TRANSMISSION FAIL? TOYOTA DOES NOT SELL THIS BEARING FOR THE SIENNA, THEY REQUIRE THE ENTIRE COUPLING TO BE REPLACED, WITH A LIST PRICE OVER $1700, PLUS LABOR. THIS DEFECTIVE PART SHOULD BE SUBJECT OF A RECALL AND THE REPAIR PERFORMED ON ALL AWD SIENNA WITH THE DEFECTIVE BEARING CONFIGURATION.

WHEN ACCELERATING VEHICLE MAKES LOUD HUMMING NOISE. STOPS WHEN YOU TAKE YOUR FOOT OFF THE GAS. I WAS TOLD IT IS THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL. I HAVE READ MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS FAULTY PART. WHY IS THIS NOT BEING INVESTIGATED? $2000 REPAIR.
THE SLIDING DOOR BEHIND THE DRIVERS SEAT WILL NOT OPEN MORE THAN 8 ". THAN AN ALARM DINGS UP FRONT
TAKATA RECALL: ATTEMPTED TO HAVE RECALL SERVICE COMPLETED AT HERITAGE TOYOTA IN CATONSVILLE, MD. WAS TOLD THEY DID NOT HAVE THE PARTS AND WAS PUT ON A WAITING LIST.
THE UNIT MARKS DOOR OPEN SOMETIMES WHEN DRIVING AND SOMETIMES WHEN THE BRAKES ARE PRESSED DOWN. THE UNIT WAS TAKEN TO AUTHORIZED DEALER BECAUSE THERE WAS A RECALL. THE RECALL STATED THAT THIS ISSUE WAS CAUSED BY THE SLIDING DOOR'S LOCK. THEY VERIFIED THE UNIT AND SAID THE SLIDING DOOR'S LOCK WERE OK, BUT THE ISSUE APPARENTLY WAS ON THE REAR DOOR. THE LOCK ON THE REAR DOOR WAS DEFECTIVE AND THERE WERE NO RECALLS FOR THAT LOCK. THE REPAIR SHOULD BE PAID ON OUR OWN.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 TOYOTA SIENNA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH AND ATTEMPTING TO TURN, A GROWLING NOISE WAS HEARD FROM THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO PRIME TOYOTA ROUTE 2 (978-353-1700, LOCATED AT 700 OLD UNION TURNPIKE, LANCASTER, MA 01523) TO BE DIAGNOSED, BUT THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED. THE FAILURE RECURRED AND THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED AND REPLACED THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL. THE FAILURE WAS REMEDIED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 64,000. *BF *JB
MINIVAN PARKED BUT ROLL AWAY CAUSED INJURY. THE MINIVAN WAS PARKED TO PICK UP GROCERY BAGS BUT STARTED ROLLING AWAY AFTER THE LAST 2BAGS OF GROCEY
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 TOYOTA SIENNA. WHEN THE ENGINE WAS STARTED WITH THE GEAR IN PARK AND THE PASSENGER SIDE SLIDING DOOR OPEN, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY DROVE FORWARD AND CRASHED INTO A CONCRETE PILLAR. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO STOP THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT BECAME TRAPPED BETWEEN THE VEHICLE AND THE CONCRETE PILLAR. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE HEAD, LEFT HIP, LEGS, TORSO, AND BOTH ARMS. MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS NOT RECEIVED. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE LOCAL DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 150,000.
THE PASSENGER SIDE AUTOMATIC SLIDING DOOR CABLE BECAME FRAYED TO THE POINT THAT THE DOOR WOULD NOT OPEN EITHER AUTOMATICALLY OR MANUALLY. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE AS CHILDREN CAN GET TRAPPED IN THE VAN AND BE UNABLE TO EXIT IN AN ACCIDENT. A QUICK SEARCH ONLINE SHOWS THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE TOYOTA SIENNA VAN. THE FIX IS VERY EXPENSIVE: THE PART ALONE IS $800 AND IT REQUIRES 5-6 HOURS OF LABOR. THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL ISSUE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 TOYOTA SIENNA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH, THE VEHICLE STARTED TO DECELERATE. THERE WAS NO WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE DECELERATED AND STALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO TOYOTA OF ORANGE (LOCATED AT 1400 N TUSTIN ST, ORANGE, CA 92867, (714) 639-6750) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 200,000.
TAKATA RECALL WESTBURY TOYOTA HAS A 2011 SIENNA LE IN SILVER ON SALE ON THEIR LOT. I ADDRESSED THEM VIA EMAIL ABOUT MY CONCERNS ON RECALLS SPECIFICALLY THE TAKATA AIRBAG RECALL. WHEN I ENTERED THE VIN ON THE NHYSA WEBSITE IT SHOWED ONE RECALL 1/9/2019 FOR AIRBAG BUT NO OFFICIAL RECALL NUMBER ASSIGNED TO IT YET. AS SOON AS I EMAILED THEM BACK AT NIGHT AROUND 9 PM I NOTICED THE RECALL NOTICE HAD DISAPPEARED. THE CARFAX ALSO SHOWS 1/24/2019 THAT MANUFACTURE MAINTENANCE WAS CONDUCTED. SO ALL OF A SUDDEN AT 9:30 PM THEY MAGICALLY FIXED THE AIRBAGS!? I'M WORRIED ABOUT THE LEGITIMACY OF THE FIX THEY CONDUCTED AND AFRAID SOMEONE MIGHT GET INJURED SHOULD THEY BUY THIS VEHICLE. PLEASE INVESTIGATE OR REACH OUT TO THEM.
THE PASSENGER SIDE SLIDING DOOR STOPPED WORKING, IT DOESN'T OPEN AUTOMATICALLY, IT GET STUCK AND I THINK THAT'S A SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE I HAVE 2 LITTLE KIDS THAT RIDE IN THOSE SEATS. I HIT THE OPEN DOOR BUTTON AND IT DOESN'T DO NOTHING ONLY BEEPS, I HAVE TO GET OUT OF THE VAN AND CLOSE THE DOOR FOR THEM.
ON A SNOWY SATURDAY MORNING, MY HUSBAND WAS SLOWLY (DRIVING LESS THAN 5 MPH) PULLING INTO A PARKING SPOT WHILE BRAKING. AS HE SHIFTED INTO PARK, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY REVVED AND ACCELERATED OVER THE FIVE INCH CURB AND HIT A BUILDING A FEW FEET IN FRONT OF THE CAR. HIS FOOT REMAINED FIRMLY ON THE BRAKE DURING THE INCIDENT. ALTHOUGH THE VEHICLE HAD COME TO A COMPLETE STOP ONCE IT HIT THE BUILDING AND WAS PUT INTO PARK, THE ENGINE CONTINUED TO MAKE A LOUD REVVING SOUND. THE REVVING DID NOT STOP UNTIL THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED OFF.
THE INTERIOR OVERHEAD PASSEGER SIDE DOOR BUTTON IS FAULTY AND WORKS INTERMITTENTLY
MY CAR WAS PARKED AS I OPENED THE SLIDING DOOR BEHIND THE DRIVER'S SEAT I HEARD A POP AS THE DOOR OPENED AND THE CABLE THAT OPENED THE DOOR SNAPPED OFF SENDINDING THE DOOR FORWARD. THE END OF THE CABLE WAS CORRODED. I SEE THEY HAVE OTHER DOOR SAFETY PROBLEMS WITH CORROSION I THINK THE CABLE SHOULD BE INCLUDED WITH THE RECALL. SINCERELY. WHEN I RENEWED MY NEW YORK STATE REGISTRATION I RECEIVED A NOTICE THAT I STILL DIDN'T HAVE THE SLIDING DOOR PROBLEM TAKEN CARE OF. WAITING FOR SEVERAL MONTHS FOR AN APPOINTMENT AT FOX IN AUBURN NY TO GET THIS REPAIRED. IS THERE ANOTHER DEALER THAT I CAN TAKE THE VEHICLE TO IN THE AREA?
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 TOYOTA SIENNA. WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE REAR DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR OPENED. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE DOOR HAD TO BE HELD CLOSED IN ORDER TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO ALDERMAN'S TOYOTA (33 SEWARD RD, RUTLAND, VT 05701, (802) 776-6000) WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE WIRING HARNESS WAS COVERED UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V858000 (STRUCTURE); HOWEVER, THE CABLE OPENER ASSEMBLY AND ROLLER HINGE WERE NOT COVERED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 108,536. *DT*JB
WHILE PARKED IN MY DRIVEWAY, HAVING BEEN DRIVEN TWO HOURS BEFORE, MY VAN CAUGHT ON FIRE IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. IT BURNED FOR AN UNKNOWN AMOUNT OF TIME BEFORE WE WERE ALERTED. THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM WAS DISABLED BY THE FIRE CAUSING THE TWO BACK SLIDING DOORS TO BECOME INOPERABLE. THE VAN CAN SEAT 6 PEOPLE IN THE REAR PASSENGER COMPARTMENT AND THEY WOULD BE UNABLE TO EXIT THE VAN EXCEPT BY GOING THROUGH THE FRONT DOORS. EVEN NOW THAT IT IS AFTER THE FIRE, WE ARE STILL UNABLE TO OPEN THEM, FROM INSIDE, OUTSIDE, OR WITH ANY OF THE BUTTONS.
STEERING COMPONENT KEEPS GETTING LOOSE. I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE TWICE IN 2 YEARS. I AM AFRAID THAT THIS, IF NOT CORRECTED, CAN LEAD TO ACCIDENTS.
THE OCCUPANT SENSING SYSTEM DOES NOT RECOGNIZE THAT SOMEONE (FULL GROWN ADULT) IS SITTING IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. THIS PROBLEM IS IDENTICAL TO A PREVIOUS RECALL (NHTSA CAMPAIGN # 13V014000) TOYOTA SAYS THEY DO NOT HAVE TO FIX IT UNDER THE RECALL. PERHAPS THE RECALL DOES NOT COVER ALL OF THE VINS IMPACTED.
THE MINIVAN SUDDENLY, WITH NO WARNING OR INDICATION RAPIDLY LOST ALL ENGINE OIL IN A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME. AS I WAS DRIVING ON A CITY STREET, I GOT A WARNING ABOUT FIVE MINUTES INTO A DRIVE ABOUT LOW ENGINE OIL PRESSURE, WHEN IT WAS BASICALLY DRY. I HAD IT TOWED TO A MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS QUICKLY CONFIRMED THAT THE OIL COOLER PIPE HAD FAILED CAUSING THIS TO HAPPEN. I HAVE 120,000 MILES ON THE VAN.
DRIVING CITY STREET RUPTURED RUBBER COOLING LINE HOSE TO ENGINE... SMOKE POURING FROM VEHICLE NO OIL LEFT... NO WARNING LIGHT ON DASH. TOWED TO BUTLER TOYOTA LAST MONTH OIL CHANGE AT THIS SAME DEALER TODAY RUBBER LINE REPLACED WITH A METAL HOSE COSTING ME $496.00.. TOYOTA CORPORATION NEEDS TO REFUND THIS TO ME AND ALL OF THE OTHER SIENNA OWNERS WHO HAVE HAD THIS EXPERIENCE.
AFTER DRIVING FOR SEVERAL HOURS, CAR WAS STOPPED FOR A TRAIN AND THE REAR WINDOW EXPLODED. IT WAS IN PARK, APPROXIMATELY 8:30 P.M., 72 DEGREES OUTSIDE

WHILE OPENING THE DRIVER-SIDE SLIDING DOOR THE DRIVER-SIDE SLIDING DOOR CABLE SNAPPED RENDERING THIS DOOR INOPERABLE. APPEARS THAT THE CABLE HAS RUSTED AND WEAKENED THEN BROKE.
WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY ON THE LEFT PASSENGER DOOR WAS BEEPING. AFTER PULLING OVER RE-OPENING AND CLOSING THE DOOR THE BEEPING STOPPED. ALSO THE PAINT IS PEELING OFF BELOW ALL WINDOWS AND ON THE ROOF.

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO BE DIAGNOSED. NEITHER THE DEALER NOR THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 123,075.
POWER SLIDING PASSENGER DOOR CABLE RUSTED APART, THEREFORE MAKING THE DOOR COMPLETELY UNFUNCTIONING. IT CANNOT BE USED MANUALLY EITHER.
TIRES ON THIS VEHICLE ARE EXPERIENCING EXCESSIVE TIRE WEAR. I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE USED, BUT IT HAD A NEW SET OF TIRES ON IT. THE TIRES HAD TO BE REPLACED AT ABOUT 18,000 MILES DUE TO EXCESSIVE WEAR ON THE OUTSIDE TREAD OF THE TIRES. TIRES WORN OUT SO QUICKLY, I HAVE 94,500 MILES & THIS IS MY THIRD SET. TIRES STAY GOOD FOR ONLY 20,000/25,000 MILES. I DO REGULARLY TIER ROTATE, BALANCING & ALIGNMENT BUT STILL WORN OUT. I AM USING MICHELIN PRIMACY MXV4(SAME KIND OF TIERS) WHEN I BOUGHT CAR, ALL TIME. IT'S SEEMS TOYOTA HAD BAD DESIGN SO TIRES WORN OUT SO FREQUENTLY. I WENT ON CARGURUS.COM & SAW LOTS OF SIMILAR KIND OF COMPLAINS.
WHILE THE CAR WAS STOPPED, THE ELECTRIC DOOR CABLE SNAPPED ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE SIDE DOOR IN MAY 2018 AND THEN THE PASSENGER SIDE CABLE SNAPPED IN AUGUST 2018. WHILE THIS IS AN INCONVENIENCE, THE BIGGER ISSUE IS THAT ONCE THIS HAPPENS, THE DOOR IS THEN UNABLE TO BE OPENED. IN CASE OF AN EMERGENCY, THERE IS NO WAY TO OPEN THE DOOR.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO RIVERSIDE TOYOTA (131 HWY 411 E, ROME, GA 30161, (706) 291-2886), BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL AND DID NOT OFFER ANY FURTHER ASSISTANCE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 61,000.
TAKATA RECALL WE TOOK THE CAR TO THE TOYOTA DEALER IN KATY IN MID FEBRUARY 2018 TO SOLVE THE AIR BAG RECALL AND POWER DOORS. THEY SAID THE DO NOT HAVE THE PARTS; WE HAVE GO BACK TWICE BUT THEY SAY THEY STILL DO NOT HAVE THEM. NOW ALMOST 3 MONTHS LATER THEY HAVE NOT DONE ANYTHING ABOUT IT. WE HAD NOT HAVE ANY ACCIDENT BUT WE DO NOT FEEL SAFE WHEN DRIVING THE CAR.
TOYOTA HAS A KNOWN FAILURE ISSUE WITH THE ENGINE OIL COOLER HOSE ON THIS MODEL. WITH THIS ISSUE, A DEFECT IN THE HOSE CAUSES OIL TO LEAK RAPIDLY FROM THE HOSE. A SEARCH OF THE INTERNET CAN FIND MANY INSTANCES OF THIS ISSUE, WITH CATASTROPHIC ENGINE FAILURE RESULTING IN CERTAIN CASES. TOYOTA HAS ISSUED WARRANTY ENHANCEMENT ZE2 TO COVER THIS. THE WARRANTY TERM FOR THIS ITEM IS EXTENDED TO TEN YEARS AND 150,000 MILES. I EXPERIENCED THIS FAILURE LAST WEEK. IT OCCURRED AS I WAS PULLING INTO A CAR WASH. SMOKE STARTED COMING FROM MY ENGINE AND THE CAR WASH WORKER NOTICED OIL LEAKING FROM UNDERNEATH. I HAD TO HAVE THE VEHICLE TOWED AND THE HOSE REPLACED. THE TOTAL COST WAS $665. I ATTEMPTED TO GET COVERAGE FROM TOYOTA, BUT MY REQUEST WAS DENIED DUE TO THE FACT THAT THE MILEAGE WAS AT 167,000. THE REASON FOR MY COMPLAINT IS THAT A MAJOR, KNOWN DEFECT SUCH AS THIS SHOULD NOT BE TIME OR MILEAGE LIMITED. GIVEN THE CATASTROPHIC FAILURE THAT CAN RESULT FROM THIS DEFECT, TOYOTA SHOULD HAVE BEEN REPLACING THE DEFECTIVE HOSES RATHER THAN FORCING CUSTOMERS TO ENDURE THE PROBLEMS OF FAILURE IN THE FIELD, WHICH OFTEN RESULTED IN BLOWN ENGINES AND THE NEED TO HAVE VEHICLES TOWED IN FOR REPAIRS. IF TOYOTA IS NOT GOING TO TAKE THE STEP OF PREVENTING THE PROBLEM, THEY SHOULD AT LEAST TAKE CARE OF THE PROBLEM WHEN IT OCCURS - REGARDLESS OF AGE OR MILEAGE - BECAUSE THE CAUSE IS CLEARLY THE RESULT OF A KNOWN DEFECT. I CONTACTED TOYOTA WARRANTY SERVICE FOR REIMBURSEMENT AND MY CLAIM WAS DENIED. I CALLED BACK AND ASKED TO ESCALATE IT. I WAS TRANSFERRED TO A HIGHER LEVEL AGENT WHO AGAIN DENIED MY CLAIM AND TOLD ME TO ADDRESS MY COMPLAINT OUTSIDE OF TOYOTA, WHICH IS WHY I AM FILING HERE. WITH THIS COMPLAINT, I AM SEEKING REIMBURSEMENT OF MY $665 COSTS. I FURTHER SUGGEST THAT TOYOTA BE URGED TO REVISE WARRANTY ENHANCEMENT ZE2 TO REMOVE THE MILEAGE AND TIME LIMITS.
