TAKATA RECALL. I CALLED TOYOTA BACK ON 7/18/2016, OPENED CASE# 1607150375 AND TO THIS DAY ( 1/30/2017 ) THERE HAS BEEN NO REMEDY FOR MY VEHICLE. IT HAS BEEN QUITE ANNOYING FOR ME NOT TO BE ABLE TO SEAT SOMEONE ON THE PASSENGER SEAT OF MY VAN, ESPECIALLY MY WIFE. I ALSO HAD TO TAKE FAMILY TRIPS AND OUTINGS WITHOUT THE USE OF THE PASSENGER SEAT. THIS ISSUE IS VERY FRUSTRATING AND I NEED TO HAVE IT RESOLVED ASAP.
TAKATA RECALL TOYOTA HAS FAILED TO PROVIDE OR REMEDY THE TAKATA DEFECT WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME FRAME. METAL FRAGMENTS FROM INFLATOR RUPTURE COULD KILL MY FAMILY IN THE EVENT OF AIRBAG RUPTURE. I HOLD TOYOTA RESPONSIBLE FOR KNOWING ABOUT THIS PROBLEM AND NOT PROVIDING ANY SOLUTION TO DATE.

THE DEALER STATED THAT THE FAILURES OCCURRED DUE TO THE VEHICLE BEING LEFT PARKED OUTSIDE THE DEALER WITHOUT BEING MOVED FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME. THE DEALER REFUSED TO ASSIST WITH THE REPAIRS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.

I PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK, YET ALTHOUGH THE SHIFT IS IN PARK,THE INDICATOR SAYS ITS IN REVERSE, THEN THE VAN STARTS ROLLING BACKWARDS. SHUT OFF THE ENGINE AND ITS LIKE THE VAN IS IN NEUTRAL, THE VAN STARTS ROLLING DOWN HILL.EXTREMELY DANGEROUS I ALMOST RAN OVER A CHILD BEHIND ME! I SPENT THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS TO REPLACE SHIFTER CABLE, I LATER SAW RECALL ON 2014 MODEL BUT 2011 MODEL HAS IDENTICAL PROBLEM.

WHEEL BOLTS BREAKING WHEN TIGHTENING BY HAND. MINIVAN HAS ONLY ABOUT 30,000 MILES, DRIVEN MOSTLY IN THE CITY IN CALIFORNIA. WHEEL BOLT BROKE WHEN PUTTING WHEEL BACK AFTER CLEANING BRAKES. TIGHTENING WAS DONE BY HAND USING STANDARD WHEEL WRENCH.

ON JUNE 15, 2016 AROUND 4:30 MY WIFE WAS DRIVING TOYOTA SEINA LTD VAN WHICH IS EQUIPPED WITH SIDE CURTAIN AIRBAG ANOTHER VEHICLE HIT HER VAN ON PASSENGER SIDE FRONT WHEEL FROM SIDE WHILE CHANGING LANES THIS RESULTED TIPPING OF VAN , SEINNA VAN WAS TIPPED ON SIDE AND WAS DRAG ON ROAD OVER 100 FEET BEFORE IT STOPPED . WINDOWS AND FRONT GLASS SHATTERED WHILE SLIDING THERE IS EXTENSIVE DAMAGE ON CAR ON PASSENGER SIDE AND DRIVER SIDE AS WELL AS IN FRONT NEAR PASSENGER SIDE NONE OF THE AIRBAGS WERE INFLATED DESPITE SIGNIFICANT IMPACT

NO CURRENT SOLUTION GIVEN TO FIX PROBLEM BUT ADVISED NOT TO HAVE PASSENGERS IN FRONT SEAT. THIS IS A TERRIBLE SOLUTION FOR A PROBLEM WITH POSSIBLE MAIMING OR DEADLY CONSEQUENCE AS IT DIMINISHES THE UTILITY OF THE VEHICLE. THE NTSB SHOULD MANDATE THAT TOYOTA REPLACE THESE DEVICES IMMEDIATELY OR WITHIN A VERY SHORT PERIOD OF TIME. I UNDERSTAND THAT THERE ARE DETONATORS MANUFACTURED THAT DO NOT CONTAIN THE VOLATILE GAS USED IN THE TAKATA EQUIPPED BAGS. THERE IS A RECALL ON THE SPARE TIRE CARRIER CABLE. I HAVE ALSO RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FOR THE SLIDING DOOR. I CONTACTED MY LOCAL TOYOTA DEALER( TOYOTA OF IOWA CITY) LOCATED IN IOWA CITY, IA. I CONTACTED THEM 6-8 MONTHS AGO WHEN I RECEIVED THE FIRST NOTICE. THEY SAID THEY WOULD ORDER PARTS AND BE IN CONTACT WITH ME. I RECENTLY RECEIVED A SECOND NOTICE CONCERNING THE SPARE TIRE CARRIER CABLE. I'M FRUSTRATED WITH THEIR LACK OF RESPONSE AS THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME I HAVE HAD AN ISSUE WITH THIS DEALERSHIP. THE POWER DRIVERS SEAT DOES NOT FUNCTION PROPERLY AND THEY WERE GOING TO ORDER PARTS FOR IT. WHEN I CALLED ABOUT THE SPARE TIRE I ASKED ABOUT THE SEAT AND SHE HAD NO IDEA WHAT I WAS TALKING ABOUT.
